The want for Ace Attorney 7 is fighting with the fact that logically there is nothing they can do to that series that will make me go "Yeah no we needed this seventh installment actually" and it would just be better to get a third TGAA or Investigations game again.

i'm so sorry i don't want to be the "the party ended 5 years ago and he's still here" person but dark phoenix's final scene is still SO funny to me. especially to see how erik plays charles like a fiddle

like: he shows up with NO helmet AND a chess set. (he did this last time in days of the future past, and it worked, right? so it should work again, right? right???)

so, he sits, completely uninvited mind you, and he tries (and fails terribly bless his heart) at starting a normal conversation, he asks charles about his retirement, probably trying to get charles to like, talk about it or whatever

charles is not having any of it, which... valid. the last time he and erik had a full conversation, erik told him to shut the fuck up 

anyways, erik realizes his failed attempt at being casual did NOT work like he wanted, so he pulls out plan b - he calls charles his old friend (which, if you pay attention, in the prequels they use 'old friend' as a term to de-escalate the situation)

which WORKS, for some reason, and charles immediately deflates and gives erik the tiniest smile in existence, because erik showing he cares always seems to do it for charles lmao

anyhow, erik pulls out the second part of his plan b - he asks charles if he wants to play a game. still playing casual. just two buddies. just two guys. some guys. just some friends having a toootal normal n casual conversation.

and you can immediately see charles close himself up, he crosses his arms and avoids looking erik in the eye. erik managed to soften him up with the 'old friend' and having his helmet off, but it's not enough YET so erik pulls out his plan c. luckily his last one, christ, charles really does like to keep them waiting doesn't he

keep an eye on erik's entire demeanor in this scene, his position is not closed off like charles', he's open, he leans on the table, and maintains eye contact with charles. his head is tilted to one side and everything, completely harmless

i'm so obsessed with charles' microexpressions here james mcavoy you are so insane

anwyays, charles uncrosses his arms and his position does come off a little more open, but if you watch the scene you can see him shake his head. this obviously touches him - but he's probably intending to say still no. probably because he has the biggest martyr complex i've ever seen in a fictional character 

so, erik pulls up his fucking plan d (lol) and hopefully this time IT WILL be the last. he pulls the pawn out of his jacket pocket.

(why the fuck is this played like a fucking romantic scene i'm so serious, why is he smiling to himself like that)

mind you, erik had the pawn in his pocket the entire time, which could mean either of two things:

charles looks surprised/confused the entire scene, but in THIS part he doesn't look confused, he just looks like he's still trying to figure out what erik is trying to do. so it either means erik makes charles play this 'guess where it's hiding' game all the time (????) which doesn't really sound likely for him to do, but erik is always begging charles to get into his head so it wouldn't surprise me if he actually did this every time. god knows he's desperate enough or

erik was expecting charles to reject his offer right away, and had multiple other plans shoved up his ass if this was the case. this also seems likely, he's obsessive enough to have thought multiple ways through. 

anyways, he puts his two fists up and pulls up the most mortal sentence in existence. one he knows charles won't be able to deny him

"just ONE game 🥺 for old time's sake???? 🥺🥺🥺" man stfu you are 62 years old GET UPPPP 

anyways - pay attention to his wording. 

"just one game" because erik came ALLLL this way for charles, so charles might as well play ONE game with him, and then erik could be gone - if charles wanted it that way. 

"for old's time sake" when things were easier and when they were more at peace - when they were on each other's side. when they were together and the mansion, just after charles had saved him and gave him a hom- oh wait 

(also, there's 100% a hidden meaning here. and there’s also a 100% chance i’m reaching but idc. the pawn could be in his left hand or his right. the possibility is 50/50. the only way charles could know with 100% certainty was if he entered erik's mind - if he took up erik's offer. but he could also not get into erik's mind and just... guess and fail - by thus, not taking erik's offer. erik is giving him an out, a choice to make the first move)

(and the chess piece he offers charles a WHITE pawn. the white pieces are the first ones to move. 

also also if you have paid attention to the previous movies, erik is always the one to use the white pieces, this is the first movie where we see charles play with white)

anyways, charles does struggle a bit with the choice, but ultimately he decides to accept erik's proposal and """guesses""" right.  

and going from erik's... entire face and smirk lmao i'm guessing charles went into his head to get it right. mind you, this is like sex for them

charles accepts - erik is very relieved to know he's not the only one who's down horrendously. and after the worst guessing game in history (seriously, the pawn was in erik's right pocket and then he had it hidden in his right hand... man i guessed that shit and i'm not even a telepath) they start rearranging the board

so anyway, erik gives charles this look like he wants to climb him like a tree, which means that playing edward 'down embarrassingly bad' rochester in jane eyre (2011) finally fucking paid off

erik doesn't even blink mind you, and charles doesn't take his eyes off erik either way, which means they are just STARING at each other without blinking for god knows how long LMAOOO 😭😭😭

once everything is said and done, erik makes a silly little joke and charles rebuts. then erik gives him the biggest smile i've ever seen him give to someone since magda, and then he follows it up with a smaller, softer smile with no teeth

seeing this for the first time in the theater was like getting shot in the chest, no joke

mind you erik stopped trying like three minutes ago but for some reason, the first time we finally see charles soften up in the ENTIRE movie is after he sees erik smiling at him. which could mean nothing.

and the thing is: charles does have a big heart, and he means well, most of the time, but he also doesn’t necessarily has… the best way of showing it with his actions lol. erik knows this, and he knows charles has a thing for lost causes, for people the society has given up on. charles threw himself into the freezing water to save erik - even when he didn't KNOW him. 

AND he also knows charles has the biggest soft spot for him, he KNOWS - because all those years ago, charles' biggest accussation wasn't "you paralyzed me" it was "you left me". because after erik lost his wife and daughter, charles rushed to find him, to make sure he was okay. because nine years ago, charles looked at apocalypse and said "fuck you you are twisting erik's grief, and you are hurting him" to A GOD BTW. TO HIS FUCKING FACE NO FUCKS GIVEN AT ALL

tldr: call erik the fucking violinist because boy he sure knows how to play charles like a fucking instrument and how to press all the right keys to get him to say yes to him. he gave charles an out if he didn't want to come with him, but he also came PREPARED for it, mind you, he came PREPARED to take charles with him to genosha. he didn't get to take charles with him 30 years ago, and he was going to be dammed if he didn't take charles with him NOW (this time with no bullet wound and no helmet lol)

and the most insane thing to me is, that he knows charles has a soft spot for him, he's known this for 30 years, and yet, the only time he uses it in his favor is to get charles to say yes to him on this. the only time he uses it is when he thinks he can do something to help charles - to give him back all the kindness charles gave to him 30 years ago.

Things I'd love to see in the Future of the Layton Series:

Some of these are unlikely, borderline impossible. But here's hoping Apollo may grant me the gift of prophesy on just one thing:

1. The rest of the Layton Games get a HD release on mobile.

This just makes sense! The original trilogy got a HD release, time for the prequels! And what if we get new cutscenes and content like Curious Village did? That would be amazing!

2. The entire series gets released on Switch.

This also makes sense. Since NWOS is releasing on the Switch, it makes sense to add the original games so new fans can play all of them! Especially since the Nintendo DS is dead. Rest in Peace. 💕

3. London Life gets a sequel/reboot and is available for all regions.

I've been playing London Life on an Emulator and it is so fun! It's a shame my region never got it!

My hope for the future is that if Spectre's Call gets a HD release, it will include London Life for everyone! But this version will include characters from Miracle Mask and Azran Legacy!

And here's a fun idea: what if befriending Dimitri Allen unlocks the ability to use his time machine! Unfortunately, it doesn't work perfectly; it can only take you twenty years into the future. So you can meet and befriend characters from Mystery Journey and Mystery Room!

4. Layton Brothers Mystery Room Sequel

It's been ten years since the mobile game was released and it's been largely ignored by Level 5. Until recently, with Alfendi's cameo in the anime, and then the manga series. It's clear that there's still love for this game. I think it's perfect time for Alfendi and Lucy to get the sequel they deserve! I'd love to see how they are doing!

5. Layton's Mystery Room Sequel/ Layton Mystery Detective Agency Season 2

I know Katrielle's game and anime wasn't the best received, but I think the series has a lot to offer! With the return of Layton and possibly an appearance from Alfendi, I believe the best is yet to come! Also, we still don't know the backstory of Sherl.

6. Lost Media gets found:

What is Professor Layton and the Phantom Thieves? What is Professor Layton Battle Royale? What is Professor Layton and the Deathly Mirror? I have no idea. But I'd like to know.

7. Roid Artwork

I don't know much about it, but I believe Level 5 had some kind of mobile app where, amongst other things, you received really cute artwork of various characters. Most of if the ones I've seen are poor quality, so I think it would be great if the Level 5 Twitter said, "check these out" and released HD images, including ones we've never seen before.

8. More Games

So, the original series was a trilogy. And the prequels were a trilogy. So what if NWOS is the first entry in a new trilogy, starring Luke in America! The Detective Triton Trilogy!

Also, it's been a while since Professor Layton's first and only crossover game. What about another? I don't know much about the Phoenix Wright series, but a crossover between Apollo Justice and Alfendi/Katrielle could be fun?

9. Rook and Bishop

Hey, Akihiro Hino. I know you read my blog. I will give you £29 and my ham sandwich if you put Rook and Bishop in the new game. They don't even have to do anything, just stand awkwardly in the background. It would be hilarious because nobody would care. Everyone wants to see characters like Flora, Emmy and Descole. You put Benny in LMJ and nobody cared about him. Do this for me.🥺

10. Flora

Just.... Acknowledge her existence in some way. Let her appear in NWOS. Give her something to do.

11. Mangas Series

I was so happy when it was revealed that Level 5 was making a manga series about Mystery Room. I can't read Japanese, but I just love the artwork. So expressive and fun! Completely different from the original 2d sprites.

So I was thinking, what if they made a manga about each of the original games? I don't mean like the Cheerful Mystery Manga, but with beautiful artwork that followed the original stories, maybe with new scenes? I'd like that.

Feel free to add what you'd love to see for the Layton Series! No matter how impossible it sounds! If the list is long enough, at least one thing has to come true, right?

A/N: I really enjoy writing Sirius daughter! reader. I'm sorry this took a lot of time but I hope you like it. Also, English is my second language so please let me know if there's any grammar/spelling mistakes I can fix. *GIF not mine, credits to the owner*

"I really don't want to do this, Rem" You muttered walking down the hall, not really sure of what you were about to do.

The meeting has just ended and it was time to reunite, for the first time in years, with Sirius Black, your father. "I'm not ready" you whispered again to Remus, who was by your side. "What if he doesn't like me? or... what if he is upset with the fact that I belong to Slytherin? He hates Slytherin, right? what if he hates me? What if-

"Y/N!" Remus interrupted you placing a hand on your shoulder to comfort you. "Everything is going to be okay, he's very excited to see you."

You nodded taking a deep breath, your hands slightly shaking as you opened the door to the room where he was waiting for you.

To be honest, you couldn't remember him very well but you do remember the feeling of being with him, the love he gave you, the games he played with you, even some stories he used to tell you before going to bed. You were happy with him by your side but suddenly everything changed. For many years you couldn't understand what happened to Sirius. You grew up with everyone around you always telling you the monster he was. You never denied it, the evidence was clear, but something inside you didn't want to believe it. It was until a few months ago when Remus and Harry told you the truth that you finally felt relieved. When you entered the room he was standing in front of the chimney. He looked different from the pictures Remus once show you: taller, slimmer, even tired. "Hey there..." you said softly.

Sirius turned around shocked. A lock of black lustrous hair, just like yours, fell over his face. "Wow," he exclaimed with a bright smile walking towards you to give you a hug. "Look at you! as beautiful as your mother."

You froze in place, wide-eyed still not believing the fact that your father was finally in front of you.

Sirius stopped in his tracks. His smile quickly fading away from his face. "Oh. Umm... I- I'm sorry... I didn't-" he cleared his throat nervously. An awkward silence quickly filled the small room.

Suddenly, you wrap your arms around your father's neck. "I missed you." You mumbled.

The hug caught Sirius off guard, he wasn't used to this kind of affection but he couldn't help to kiss your forehead. "I missed you too, kiddo." Sirius' heart filled with guilt realizing how much of your life he'd missed. "So..." Sirius began "aren't you too young for being a member of The Order of the Phoenix?"

"I'm an adult" you answered with a chuckle "besides, I'm not an official member. I just provide some intel from the Malfoy's manor.

"What?" He asked "why would you accept that?" he exclaimed raising his voice. "I didn't have a choice!" you snapped crossing your arms. "After mum passed away a few months after you were sent to Azkaban I didn't have a place to go," your heart clenched at the mention of your mum, who was killed by some deatheaters. "Narcissa was my closest relative so... I can't say those were the happiest days of my life but they provided me a place to sleep and daily food." You walked towards the window avoiding Sirius' concerned gaze. "Things started to get better when I got sorted in Slytherin, they thought they can control me, make me one of them but I always fought back. "

Sirius' eyes softened, realizing he wasn't the only one living in a prison all these years. "I'm... sorry..." he murmured. "I wish I was there for you. I was... well, you know the story."

"Yeah" you replied, facing him again. "But why you didn't escape before? why you gave up on your innocence?"

Your father looked back to the fireplace inhaling a deep breath and blowing it slowly.

"Why now?" you insisted.

"Harry..." he whispered. "He was in danger..."

"What?!" you shouted throwing your arms up not believing what he just said.

 "Why everything is always about Harry?

Your dad shook his head to you. The question caught him off guard. "He needed me... I- I needed to avenge-

"Where were you when your own daughter needed you?" you abruptly said, tears running down your now red cheeks.

"You're right," he said, carefully wiping away your tears. "Sorry about your mother I have no idea," he whispered. "If I had known before I would've done things differently. I was so ashamed of myself I thought you were better without me."

You sniffed and looked up at him "Don't leave me again"

"Never baby, I promise" Sirius smiled and kissed your temple. "Now... tell me about that two months detention you gained after pranked Snivellus with the Weasley twins."

"Oh," you laughed nervously, "Remus told you huh?... are you mad?"

"Mad?" He exclaimed "I couldn't have done better! Tell me more... please"

You smiled and both sat on a sofa near the chimney. You both talked for hours and hours ignoring everything outside that room. You two were finally together and nothing else mattered.

OK HERE'S A LITTLE SNEAK PEAK it's like 1k but it sets up something that i've already mentioned that happens in this part of JWIN so like it doesn't really ruin it but I'll add a keep reading thing so if you don't wanna read it you don't have to! But if you do, I'd love to hear your thoughts 🥺

Carson couldn't explain how happy she felt. However, being with all the other wives and girlfriends for one last group gathering before she and Mia left for Arizona made her extremely emotional. They all always had so much fun, especially during a playoff run. Some of the girls would make a trip to an away game to cheer on their guys during the series, and they'd all get group matching wag jackets to wear to home games. Carson loved this group of girls so much and was sad to be leaving them so soon.

With Auston's contract with the Leafs coming to an end once the team was done with their cup run and his pending UFA status, what happened next was still a question mark. Carson and Auston have talked about what he wanted and where he wanted to be. There had been many talks about it with management too, but nothing confirmed, which gave Carson a bit of stress. She wanted to know so bad but refused to make it about herself. Therefore, she focused on letting whatever happened to happen and tried not to think about it too much until it was time to do so. But, being there with all of the other Leafs girls was tough because Carson wished she knew more of her family's future in Toronto was set in stone.

However, the girls were all at the game that night to have a good time. It was a playoff game and the last game in Toronto that Carson and Mia would attend that season. With it being almost a month before Carson's due date, she and Mia only had a few days left in Toronto before flying to Phoenix and waiting for Auston to join them once he was done playing hockey. That, too, was an unknown of when exactly Auston would be there, but Carson tried really hard not to continue thinking about it so she could enjoy her last Leafs game at SBA for who knows how long.

Carson glanced down at the ice, smiling when she spotted Auston warming up near Mitch, and she immediately started feeling better. She then looked to Mia, who was sitting on Steph's lap with her hair in little front pigtails and dressed in a miniature version of the blue and white wag jacket all the girls wore. Mia's jacket had Matthews and the number 34 stitched into the right sleeve with a Canadian and American flag stitched on the left. It was identical to the jacket Carson wore, and Mia loved that she got to match her mom, Steph and all the other girls.

Mia also loved being with the group too. She'd come to know the girls really well because of how close Carson is with them all, as well as the many playdates she's had with other Leafs kids. Everyone was just so close-knit.

"You ok?" Steph's voice spoke, snapping Carson out of the little daze she'd fallen into while watching Mia. "You seem in deep thought."

"You ok, mama?" Mia repeated and looked up at Carson, suddenly concerned about her mom.

"I'm ok, baby," Carson replied and smiled down at her daughter. "Do you see your daddy and Mitchy down there?"

"Yeah!" Mia replied happily before looking back down at the ice and going back to snacking on the Goldfish crackers Carson brought from home for her.

Carson then moved her gaze back to Steph, who was looking at her skeptically.

"Steph, I'm fine."

"Ok, ok, I won't pry," she said and held a hand up in defence. "Is Nate still coming to the game tonight?"

"Yeah, he's back in town for his friend's birthday," Carson explained. "He's gonna come up and say hi in a little bit."

"Sounds good."

Carson nodded, then paused before rubbing a hand over her belly. "I'm gonna run to the washroom now because knowing this little guy. He'll make me have to go at the worst time."

"True, he does that a lot," Steph chuckled. "You go. Mia can stay here with me."

"Hurry, mommy!" Mia said without looking away from the ice.

"Alright, I will," Carson responded, then stood up and looked back at Steph. "I'll be right back."

As she walked by the other girls in the suite, Carson smiled and even paused briefly to do a shot of water with two of the rookie girlfriends. Well, they were shooting tequila but still insisted Carson take part anyway, even though they knew the shot couldn't be alcohol for her.

Once Carson downed her water, she stuck her tongue out at the girls and winked before continuing out of the suite and into the hallway. However, she only made it a couple of steps before her phone buzzed with a text from Nate saying he was on his way up to the suite for a quick visit.

Carson paused to respond to the text, saying she'd wait in the hallway for him, then was about to make her way to the washroom finally, but then a person spoke up and made her freeze completely.

"Carson." The male voice said, not asking to confirm that's who they were talking to, but rather as a statement, which made Carson's skin crawl. She knew the voice. It was like it was engraved into her mind in the worst way possible, and regardless of how hard Carson tried to forget it, something happened to make her remember.

It'd been years since Carson last saw him. If she remembered correctly, she saw him in passing about three years prior, shortly before she and Auston left for Arizona for the summer. Before she knew she was pregnant with Mia. But, it was brief. Carson saw him but looked away and kept walking, not allowing him to approach her if he happened to spot her as well. The last she'd heard of him at all was when Auston told her that the man approached him and Mia on the street when Mia was about three months old and asleep in her stroller. The man tried picking a fight with Auston, making comments about how Auston took what should've been his, but Carson couldn't remember the whole story because her chest started getting heavy.

She didn't even want to look at him, especially with the tears she already felt pooling in her eyes, but she still did it anyway and immediately regretted it. Caron locked eye contact with a smug-looking Chris, her ex-boyfriend, who cheated and mentally and emotionally manipulated her throughout their relationship. She had to bite her tongue so she didn't snap because if she spoke, Carson knew all hell would break loose.
