Dragon!Azula is my beloved (especially in this AU).
In this AU she joins the Gaang and is NOT pleased by the fellow Fire Nation royals hunting them. Sure, Zuko's never that much of a threat (Azula is way more worried about what Iroh can do), but he keeps her on edge. Even before Azula officially claims the Gaang, they're already hers from the moment they are like "oh, nice dragon, you're our friend now".
It's pretty simple to understand why Ursa leaves Zuko for Azula: dragon lizard brain. In the moment a claimed one is in danger, nothing else matters. Azula is in immediate danger, Zuko is in potential danger, a dragon's brain will always focus on immediate danger.
So Ursa's need to protect Azula overrides everything else.
(I'm writing a oneshot about it, it's taking a while because the series so far is mostly in Katara's POV and I never wrote Ursa's POV.)
- Ash 🔥🍌
Thanks for this, Ash!
Even before Azula officially claims the Gaang, they're already hers from the moment they are like "oh, nice dragon, you're our friend now".
They are so cute! I think it's cool how everyone claims each other as their own.
Azula is in immediate danger, Zuko is in potential danger, a dragon's brain will always focus on immediate danger.
Yeah, that makes sense, although it seems weird to me because she left Zuko.
So Ursa's need to protect Azula overrides everything else.
He should have killed Azulon and Ozai, but desperate situations require desperate decisions.
I'm writing a oneshot about it.
I know! I will read it later if I have time.

Continuation of ✨ batshit insane au✨
Everything you will see here was made and designed by Ness or @almostswagkid, we just agreed that I would post it so that it would all be in one place, so please give her some praise and some love.
Gregor is one of the hunters of G corp, who engaged in the extermination of giant bugs flooding almost the entire district. Hunting is conducted not only because of the threat, but because of the resources that can be obtained by killing: Meat, armor and venom (witch is used for research, medicine and weapons).
Hunting groups usually consisted of 3-5 people and are sometimes joined by a couple of scientists for observation and study of the bugs, for better training of hunters and the effect of venom on them. This number of people per group was made on purpose, because otherwise it starts to attract unnecessary attention, as well as, requires more provisions and medicines, which is difficult to achieve in a permanent mobile group, which goes “on the hunt” on average for a month. Hunters have their own hierarchy, which manifests itself in tattoos, and each tattoo has its own meaning: from simple “High survivability” and “For luck” (such tattoo is tattooed in the form of a ladybug) to literally giving out an achievement, like medals of honor (Gregor has just such). Every hunter also gets dragonfly wings on their collarbone when they are trained. Hunters have many peculiar habits that do not allow them to freely blend into society, which makes them shunned by ordinary people
Tumblr media
Herman is from a family, that's been studying and hunting bugs for generations so Gregor got into the industry because of Herman and started training and hunting at a very early age. Since he was a child she used him in her experiments to find not only to find an antidote to the venom, but also to find a use for it. Because of this, Gregor is almost immune to bug bites, even if he does get a bite, it will go away in a week. Plus, scars from needles and venom overdose can be seen on his arms.
Soon enough, at the age of 17, he joined another hunter group where he met Tomah. At first they didn't get along but soon enough they became close friends. Tomah often would tell about his plans and dreams, witch made Gregor started to form goals and desires. But, sadly, he got killed on what was supposed to be their last hunting mission
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Bites from bugs on others are usually fatal because the venom literally melts the old skin and muscles, and then forms a new, insect-like shell, but the degree of spread of infection and lethality depends on the immunity of each person.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Each swarm has its own queen. That's what the hunters were looking for to stop the bugs spreading. Gregor and a Herman's group killed one of them, for which he became famous. The second, the biggest and most important one, he had killed on his own, when his whole group was killed by the swarm. He was badly hurt, but the spread stopped, upon his return Herman created a prosthetic arm that worked on just the remnants of the mutation. The mutations constantly distill the blood in the prosthetic + filled its cavity with nerves, so Gregor can use it almost freely like a normal hand
The hunting industry began to die because of the death of queens and Gregor was disliked by hunters and humans alike. After a few years of wandering from job to job, he joined Limbus. Prev post "Swap Ishmael"

Jason Todd suddenly having a stepmother and three additional younger siblings out of nowhere, moved into the same house as him. Knowing damn well something is fishy about this marriage, specially coming from the new Mrs Wayne, but not saying anything because Bruce told him to not intervene.
Jason resenting the woman at first, but being uncapable of feeling the same way about the kids, who apparently think he's cool and drag him into playing with them, and well, he can't say no. He doesn't have the heart.
Jason noticing the oldest seems wary of him for some reason, as if she doesn't trust him, but eventually warming up to him when he perseveres in getting her out of her shell.
Jason adoring the three of them, encouraging them to call him "big bro Jay", but having a special bond with the oldest girl, who soon enough becomes his partner in crime in the family. Sneaking out to the kitchen to eat more dessert than they were allowed to, falling asleep together, chasing each other around the manor, playing pranks on the adults. Even getting grounded together.
Jason soaking up all the admiration and affection she shows him, and viceversa. Both low-key teaming up to complain about Dick being kinda an asshole to them. Promising the girl that he'll never leave her, and if she ever needs anything, she can count on "big bro Jay" to help her.
Jason learning even to like his stepmother, who makes homemade snacks for when he goes out with Batman, ruffles his hair while calling him cute nicknames and inviting him to eat at the table with her and her kids as well, as if he's her child too. And he feels guilty but god, he wants it so badly
Jason doubting himself more often that he'd like, admitting once to his beloved little sister that he doesn't feel like he'll ever be like Dick Grayson, only for her to look at him directly in the eyes all confidently and say "You're right, because you're better than him." His eyes getting wet out of sudden and hugging her tightly, as if her warmth alone can erase all his suffering. And it does.
Jason picking them up from school, scaring the shit out of anyone who messes with his little siblings. Carrying their backpacks for them. Telling them that if they ever feel threatened or even worried, don't do anything themselves, tell him instead. Let big bro take care of it.
Jason promising his little sister that he'll always love her, no matter what, and that he'll come back to them even if it costs him. Swearing up and down that he won't ever break her heart.
"We're family, little wing. Nothing can change that. You'll always be my babysister."
Jason loving his little sister more than anything, with all his heart...until his last breath. Dying with the realisation that he broke his promise.
Jason crawling his way back, forever changed. Forever mutated into someone else he barely recognises sometimes. Coming back to Gotham with hands stained in blood and the new weight of his sins on his shoulders. The pain, the fury and the revenge burning his soul until the boy he once was is nothing but ashes.
Jason returning to the manor, painfully aware of the darkness he now carries. That infects his being. Noticing everyone looking at him with wariness, like a bomb about to explode...except someone.
Jason seeing again those familiar eyes, full of warmth and longing, that he thought would never see again. There's no fear in her, no reluctance. No, worst. She's happy. Her eyes light up and runs to him, a bit wary in her steps, but her joy overshadowing everything else. She's unsure, but still reaches out. She still sees the boy who left, not the monster that came back.
Jason feeling too tainted and too guilty to even face her properly, ignoring the pang in his chest at her heartbroken face when he brushes her off. Telling himself he doesn't deserve her affection, not anymore. That he will just corrupt her, curse her by sticking close. Convincing himself that it's for her own good. Because that's what a big brother does. Protecting his little siblings from anything...even from himself.
Jason putting distance between them, pushing her away as much as he can, over and over until he realises she's moving on. That she no longer seeks him out, instead going on with her life and growing up. He's so glad, and so, so proud of her even if he doesn't tell her it fucking breaks him but what he's supposed to do?
Jason still spending time with the rest of the family because it's different with them. They already accepted the boy he once was is dead. They went through shit themselves to somewhat understand his own. They're all soldiers in their own ways, under the bat's shadow. There's no innocence to protect there, no one he can dissapoint. No one that he cares anyway.
Jason convinced that she's safe and better off without him, swallowing the poison threatening to spill out from his mouth when he catches Duke getting cozy with her in all too familiar way, biting his tongue as he looks the other way. That was his spot first, she used to be his, it's not fair it's not fucking fair
Jason forcing himself to not think about it every day....and then seeing her battered body crashed in a dark alley, on top of a car. Covered in bruises and blood and broken. Unresponsive. Not breathing. And he has no fucking idea what happened. Or how. Or why. No one knows, no one can tell him, there's no one to ask. All he knows is that his little sister fell from a fucking window and must've been bleeding alone there until she blacked out. Alone and battered, dying in silence.
Jason realising, with a heartcrushing force, that he fucked up. Astronomically. And it's too late now.

i’m ngl, i’m a big dnd nerd that was running out of high fantasy content to consume and then i stumbled upon your beloved comic. i just wanted to ask what your favorite worldbuilding decision is for utg and if you could pick dnd classes for any (all) of the characters, what they would be 👀
anyway, i hope you have so much good energy! all the good ideas and epiphanies and magnificent sketches to your heart’s desire ♥️
Oh yay thanks for reading! I hope you enjoy it ☺️
There's two major world things that I'm really happy with and helped a bunch of things click into place I think
One has to do with the magic system, or rather how magic works in that world on a sort of... molecular level? People who've seen me do worldbuilding for a while know I'm cheeky about deriving stuff from physics and loosely drawing parallels here and there, and for the under garden I ended up making it so that a lot of magic runs on wave function interference. Kinda. So the "natural" state of things has its own wave frequencies and magic comes from unnatural frequencies being added into the mix causing shit to go weird
Tumblr media
By extension deciding this also made it easier to understand why or how some things can detect magic (they'd pick up on the weird frequencies) AND how it's possible to have magic blocking devices (they emit destructive frequencies that nullify it). Does it fully make sense on a physical level? Not necessarily but I get giddy when I can visualise magic mechanics like this hehe
The other decision was to simplify our lineup of humanoid species from the original DnD esque basis, but in a way that allows us to have basically any humanoid appearance you can think of through a ✨mutation✨ cheatcode. We have two "elf" subspecies (basically the dark elf-like ppl and everyone else, including "dwarf" looking folk, etc) and then a species that technically derives from them (and they're all genetically compatible) that's characterised by having abnormal, often insect-like traits. There's no real limit to their phenotypes since their origin is magical and random in nature, and since they can mix with "normal" elves the degree of bugness varies.
Which means i can have insect people, reptile people, horns or hooves or tails or wings galore without needing to come up with a full background for each of these variants >:)c
ANYHOO sorry I get carried away rambling about these things. Class-wise, I only have claims for some characters who... may be yet to make a full appearance in the comic, and would actually fight:
Tumblr media
^ Monk??? Not my first claim but after playing an actual monk the ki system started making a lot of sense
Tumblr media
^ Lil' sorcerer u_u probably with a subclass or two but sorcerer would hold up as he grows older
Tumblr media
^ I think warlock would work for her well enough. Not a perfect fit but I can see it with some homebrew tweaking
Tumblr media
^ Ranger makes sense I feel, she becomes one with the avalanches
Tumblr media
^ Barbarian.... barbarian/druid???? Uncharted territory here
Tumblr media
^ Warlock but you haven't seen much of it yet.... soon.... (I'm actually so excited for her)
Tumblr media
^ This one's easy I just snatched her straight from an old DnD game anyway. That's my rogue artificer babygirl
Anyhoo hope you enjoyed this ramble

Cyn - Creature/Furry AU - [Lore Post]
Tumblr media
Worked at the Elliott Manor as a maid, was fairly shunned and often avoided by other Workers due to her appearance and clumsy behaviour. Often reprimanded by the Elliotts for her attitude and way of working, with Tessa encouraging Cyn & making sure she was kept on the estate.
Smaller than any of her siblings (who she does not know, sadly) or most Civets due to malnourishment during her younger years.
Tessa was actually the one to bring Cyn from the labratories she worked at into her home, as Cyn was being used as a "lab rat" for several testings due to her Albinism.
Cyn was the first and only person to come into direct contact with the sample of the "Absolute Solver", a mutated and self-aware Virus strain similar to Rabies or CWD (chronic waste disease).
Tessa brought the sample home in secret to hopefully continue working on cracking its code in her freetime, which is how Cyn found it while cleaning her room.
Due to Cyn's weak immune system the virus took hold of her fairly easily, nestling inside of her brain & being able to speak to her.
Thanks to the Solver's self-awareness of being a virus and its abilities it found the task of manipulating Cyn and using her as host to (hopefully) spread itself in the future fairly easy.
Over time, the Solver convinced Cyn that Tessa & her family were the Ones responsible for her being infected with the "sickness", convincing her to kill everyone on the estate on the night of a very important business meeting / gala event.
After wiping out the entirety of the Elliott family and their guests, Cyn fled the estate to Camp 98.7 where she hid and the Solver slowly started to mutate her body, taking inspiration from several animals and creatures in order to form the "perfect apex" for its plans.
The Solver deemed Cyn's fragile & rather weak appearance and demeanor as "not functional" for its plans, hence the rapid want to transform her. Using its abilities it had the upper hand and ability to change every aspect of the Civets outer appearance, almost shattering her mind while doing so.
Tumblr media
What was left of Cyn during the story was... a chimera, all and nothing at the same time, made from parts the Solver deemed "useful" for the future plans it had on its mind. Horns for offense, wings to soar the sky, legs capable of running on both two and four legs, powerful jaws and teeth to kill, scales to protect the body - it saw her as imperfect, each change a desperate try to make her into something that could be deemed "perfect". Wielding the sword she had used to kill the Elliott family, she was ready to go to war for the Solver... albeit unwillingly. The Solver, appearing to her as a huge, grotesque hyena, was always there in the back of her mind (literally), steering her every move. It only allowed Cyn to move by herself when she was alone, often watching and belittling her for having issues to move and coordinate herself in this new body of hers. After the Solver arc and its destruction, Cyn was able to gain the upper hand over her mind - which took alot of time and help from other people (especially N and Uzi). She was capable of changing some aspects of her body "back" in some sense, however, alot is irreversible.
Tumblr media
Was able to change her face slightly (removed the scaling on her snout, made it more cat-like with a more rounded appearence) & her ears rounder, similar to how they were as Civet
Made the wings way smaller as she dislikes them. Can't remove them entirely, but them being this small works. She hides them under clothes when she wears them.
Made her tail resemble her old one more with a more rounded tail tip & fluffy appearence.
Walks on both 2 and 4 legs, but due to her changed anatomy she involuntarily prefers 4 legs.
Whenever she walks on 2 legs she has to use the cane, as it's difficult for her to keep herself stable.
The Solver had used her body for so long that it became almost impossible for Cyn to act on her own - when she was possessed, it was like she was watching from a seat in her mind while the Solver moved her.
The first few weeks after her freedom was regained she almost didn't move at all without being told to or prompted by Uzi and N, not out of malice or to annoy them, but simply because she just... didn't know she had to move by herself. She was so used to someone else doing it that she forgot those instincts.
This also applies to her speaking - it was mostly the Solver speaking through her, so Cyn forgot her own voice and got kinda freaked out when she first heard it. Thanks to all the physical changes her voice also changed ALOT - from soft and timid to almost rasp, growly and deep.
Despite her looks she's still very timid. Way more extroverted than her former Civet-self, but still withdrawn from Strangers. When she first met Uzi properly she was kinda taken aback by Uzis extremely outgoing persona :']]
Bit Uzi once during an episode of flashbacks when Uzi assumed her to be conscious and came closer without warning, which resulted in Cyn biting off her arm (don't worry, Uzi gets a sick robotic replacement B]]) Uzi apologized profusely for the incident, while Cyn did the same for hurting her - fell in love at the first arm amputation /j
Found her confidence again thanks to Uzi dragging her along on her way to love herself.

Question: do we know why blackshoulder peahens look Like That? When I saw one for the first time I thought it was a pied bird! Why are they so white? Is BS some kind of lack of pigment on parts that just goes "hidden" in peacocks because the iridescence conceals it?
So the short answer is the bird isn't actually white, she's cream, and also I don't know the exact reason they're like that.
The slightly longer answer is that the solid wing mutation affects the barring pattern on feathers in some manner to cause the barring on males to be replaced by solid color. Barring refers to the striping on individual feathers that forms "bars" of color horizontally over the feather. Whether BS marbleizes them or removes them is unclear, but it alters that pattern type. If I had to make some kind of guess, I would guess that it removes any pigment used in brown/pale brown barring. The "bars" that are added to a peacock's wings are likely the pale stripes, not the black ones, and we can guess this because the wild type greens have solid black wings, not barred.
On blue males, only the wings are barred as adults, and their barring is thick compared to a hen's. And yes, the hens ARE barred, it's just a different kind of barring.
a normal male's wing barring looks like this:
Tumblr media
compared to the wing barring on a hen which can be "thicker" in the sense that you can see the barring better, but mostly the barring looks like it does at the top of the photo (the barring in this case is due to Bug's minor amounts of green blood).
Tumblr media
But the hens are not only barred on their wings. They are barred everywhere. It's just the barring is very, very fine, and looks kind of like static:
Tumblr media
And what happens when you remove all the lighter, non-black (and non-red) pigments from that extra-fine, static barring?
Tumblr media
In a bird like a purple, who is colored w/ melanin that's diluted through other factor is you still get a "brown" color, but without actually using those pigments.
Tumblr media
Interestingly enough, the actual tail feathers of a BS hen are unaffected by this gene, as they have no barring. Looking at the color of the tail feathers is one of the ways people tell the colors of BS hens apart, when it might otherwise be nearly impossible to do.
Tumblr media
We also know they're fully capable of producing red pigments still, AND that the "white" isn't white because when you get certain mixtures of green blood in there, you end up with red buff (BS, but with the reds still in the feathers cranked to 11)
Tumblr media
It's ALSO true that adding green blood (which allows hens to sometimes retain barring that is more like the males, but from the green blood so again not the same) means sometimes Spalding BS hens will have the black part of the barring, but not the lighter parts (suggesting maybe the difference is the "bars" on their feathers are the black part, and the base color is cream):
Tumblr media
and Spalding BS may look HIGHLY colored to the point they're mistaken for young BS males. This IS a hen- and she's displaying what BS looks like on a hybrid with enough green blood that if she were not BS, she'd likely be barred, or at least have a LOT more thick barring than a blue hen.
Tumblr media
The BS mutation also reminds me HEAVILY of the red breasted mutation in button quail:
Tumblr media
and I would guess it could be similar. BUT again this is all just speculation on my part, given what I have seen of the gene and how it operates in practice. It would be nice to know the scientific truth some day, but I fear that may not come to light until after my time, if at all.

Can you do more of x men reader (ex they find reader fighting a sentinel?) The first one is amazing, by the way 👏
I apologize i took like half a year to answer but here we are! I absolutely love the idea and thank you for requesting to make this happen :)
Intangibility : incapable of being touched : having no physical existence : not tangible or corporeal.
---------------------------------------
There's no way out for you now for sure. Well maybe there is but whatever. The sentinel just stood there waiting for you to move or try anything, but you were frozen in fear. You can't just stand there forever?! Trying to look for a way the sentinel makes it move to attack you, but it's hand goes right through you. You're glad your mutation is too rare for Trask to know about it, his unknowledge of it just saved your goddamn life!
"Prime, are you seeing this!? One of the decepticons has gone wild and attacking civilians!"
"We'll deal with it, agent fowler. Autobots, roll out!"
You heard a weird noise, but you don't have the time to process it when it's your life on the line. Tears of panic bubbling your eyes made it hard to see, you can't stay in this form for too long. You try to move and change form but the sentinel is still trying to kill you. No long after a loud noise and electric cracking was heard. "Killing humans is new for the decepticons... Are you okay, human?" Looking up you see a new robot with more colour and an actual face. "Scared but alive and unharmed." It's foolish for you to do this, but you change your existence back to normal. Now you just realized. There is big. Ass. Robots. In front of you, in panic your mutation went off. "You won't kill me right. Like the sentinels?" The robot raised a metal brow. "Sentinels? That's a new decepticon i've never heard off." Decepticons? The hell is that? "Sir, sentinels are human technology, made to destroy mutants..not whatever you just said."
Feeling safe enough you turn back to normal and glance at the robots in front of you. "You're not from earth, aren't you?" The bots look at you with almost worry in their optics. "The secrets safe with me. I'm hiding from the government as well. Go Team hiders, i guess."
Optimus Prime
He didn't even know mutants are a thing on earth.
He took you under his "wings" since you're hiding for your own life and treats you like one of his own.
Is actually amazed of your mutation and shares his thoughts on it to you.
He knows it's a big threat if the decepticons find out about you or your mutation, if that happens, you will be kept in base 24/7
Questions humanitys acts to kill every mutant possible. They're an unique thing among humans.
Doesn't like you showing off your mutation of asking anyone of the bots to try and kick you, but the concern he had vanished, the moment wheeljacks ped went through you.
If you find any other mutants they sadly can't stay at the base, but he's glad you understand.
Talks to Agent Fowler about the sentinels and killing of decent human beings, but is actually sad if nothing changes in the government
Ratchet
Is annoyed about a new human arriving to the base, but maybe you're not that bad he hopes.
Turns out you're his new favorite the moment he finds your presence calming and actually nice.
I hope you know when to be quiet. Ratchet likes his quite working time.
If you don't then you're getting treated like Miko for sure:)
You might get close to him like Raf! Father and Son right there :,)
He's glad he doesn't need to watch his step if you're the only "human" there.
You sad? Das not good, you get a first row view of ratchet working = You get to sit on his shoulder
Tumblr media
Arcee
Wonders how in the hell you survived that sentinel until she sees your ability.
Doesn't worry about watching her step if you're the only 'human' there since you just vanish through her peds.
Her spark skips a beat if wheeljack tries to kick you more than once.
But does genuinely care about you so she watches her step atleast a little so you don't feel bad :)
Talks to you if you feel like an outcast since you're being hunted down by sentinels, because people think you're "dangerous"
Is actually a great listener and takes you for drives to thin about things.
NEW SIS!!!
Bumblebee
He would try and attack the sentinel just to protect you as a regural human, or so atleast he thought you were.
Was frightened how you thought the team was going to kill you :,)
If you feel sad he gives you comfort even if you don't understand him, he also gives great soft hugs <3
Mutation or not you're awesome!! He does want to learn about humans and mutants, but his voice box denies him from it. Raf is his translator and you're biggest helper then!
Still watches his steps no matter if you could dodge it
Tumblr media
Bulkhead & Wheeljack
Bulkhead is confused as always, Wheeljack thinks it's pretty cool and ofc he wants proof. A little test of a kick won't hurt right? Of course it didn't, but gave everybot a spark attack <3
They wanted to wreck that sentinel so bad! Why kill other humans when they're devine?! Because humanity sucks
Bulkhead asks how do you live with it a lot of the times even if you have answered before. He's so confused that he doesn't even realize you can control it.
Won't stress about you tagging along to missions, but still follow optimus' command of not bringing humans to the battlefield (Rule is broken twice now!)
Wheeljack fights with Ultra Magnus about protocols just because he wanted to go for a drive with you and talk about both of your past
Tumblr media
Smokescreen
Still thinks the sentinel is an decepticon, but no it is not :)
As always find your mutation cool and supports you through it all since he's so sweet and a lively young bot.
You're on duty to take you home or accompany you? ON IT SIR! Won't complain at all to be with a mutant. If he ever hears you've been laughed at he does wish to go and kick their asses! NOBODY BULLIES HIS COOLEST BESTIE EVER!!!
Hopes you like racing! He's a sports car ofc he goes fast!
Couldn't imagine being an outcast, but he doesn't think you are.
Almost screamed like a girl when wheeljack kicked you D:
Thought he fell in love when he saw you using your mutation, maybe he did, but we won't know?
Tumblr media
Ultra Magnus
Stood next to Optimus looking at you with nothing, but a cold gaze. Stays in protocol, no soft talks or anything.
You know him, Protocol this protocol that so stay in line okay?
Might go soft on you JUST A LITTLE BIT!!Since you're situation is not that great. So you get to do few things more than Miko, Jack or Raf and get away with it.
Took all his frustration on Wheeljack when he tested you and tried to kick you D:
You feel sad? You will get a few supportive or couraging words nothing else.
He's not a good comforter, you know that right? But he does his best to help you. Tell Optimus about your situation if his help didn't do much.
Tumblr media
-------------------------------------------------------
AN: GOD THIS TOOK A WHILE!!! SORRY FOR THE WAIT AND I DO HOPE YOU LIKE THIS!! It's 0.37 and I'm tired okay so the end might be a little bit rushed :,) BUT EVERYTHING ELSE ASIDE!!! ENJOY

So there's this interpretation that I have, I'm not sure how common it is, that when it comes to the X-Dream, the person who tends to embody it the most is Scott Summers, rather than Charles Xavier.
For once, this isn't meant to be a Charles Xavier hate post. Because I do think the mutant dream is important. And while I definitely have my share of "Magneto was Right" moments, especially with the world as it is right now, I do think that the dream of co-existence is, at heart, a good one.
Mutants and humans are not a separate species. While the "mutant gene" has a clear genetic component, something that's come up more and more often. The vast majority of mutants are born in human families. They have human lives. They belong to human countries. They have human racial identities and sexualities. They belong to human religions and subcultures. I don't think it's wrong to want acceptance, even given everything stacked against them.
Magneto's right. Sometimes. But Charles Xavier isn't wrong.
That said though, I don't think Charles himself really serves as an example of the Dream. For one thing, for the vast majority of X-Men canon history, Charles Xavier kept his mutation a secret. To the broader Marvel world, Professor Charles Xavier was just a very mutant-friendly rich, brilliant baseline human guy.
I'm not saying this as a criticism to Charles. I think that pretending to be a baseline human for so long is what allowed him to be able to raise, train and protect mutants in relative safety. It does, however, mean that he isn't an example of what he preaches.
Scott Summers, on the other hand...
One element from the original X-Men run that gets a bit lost nowadays, I think, is that (since it's before Hank turned blue), the two characters who really didn't pass as humans were Scott and Warren.
Don't get me wrong, they don't have the same difficulty as Kurt or Beak or Glob Herman. They have ways to mask as human in a pinch. But it doesn't take much to blow their cover. Warren can strap down his wings, but he can't get rid of them. And Scott's glasses fall off so often that it became his iconic image in the animated show's opening theme.
So that means, ultimately, that Scott really doesn't have a choice about it. He's pretty much got to live publicly as a mutant - with all that entails.
The funny thing about Xavier's Dream, I've always thought, is the best examples of it actually working aren't actually the X-Men. Something about the fact of a uniformed child army appearing out of nowhere to fight bad guys and then disappear after proving they can cause massive amounts of damage (...mostly Scott, admittedly, but sometimes Bobby too) tends to make people more freaked out rather than less.
Whereas Pietro and Wanda lived fairly openly as mutants in the Avengers and were actually pretty beloved. And during their respective stints on the Avengers, Hank, Storm, even LOGAN, tend to get positive press and reception. A lot of that, I suspect, is because the Avengers is a different kind of entity and folks didn't so much accept those mutant characters as just not think of them AS mutants. But it does indicate both that Xavier's onto something with positioning his students as heroes, and fucking up the execution somehow.
It does get interesting to see how other teams and characters tackle the idea. The Original X-Factor concept was fascinating. An obviously absurd and terrible idea that was as counterproductive as it was well-meaning, but also fascinating. Secretly training mutants while publicly acting like "mutant hunters".
Most of the time though, the X-Men basically followed the Xavier formula, even when Xavier was in space or otherwise on the outs. But it gets kind of interesting in the mid 00s, when we go through that spat of Xavier's the Worst (which I enjoy but also think gets a little over the top even for my Xavier-hating taste.) When he gets booted off and Scott (and Emma, but she's more in charge of the school side of things) takes over completely, we see a shift.
Whedon's Astonishing X-Men is really interesting in this context. I've seen folks dismiss it as some kind of "conservative" attempt to go back to a status quo that never really existed. (And honestly, I wish we'd stop calling story arcs that we don't like "conservative". It's always a story about a oppressed minority trying to exist in a world that despises them, even if we don't necessarily agree with the way they do it.) I don't see it that way. Whedon's X-Men is specifically presented as a strategic attempt, by Cyclops, to present a specific superheroic face to the world.
It's basically the same as the later X-Tinction Team, but in the opposite direction. And this isn't me putting my meta hat on, this is expressly the reason given for the team in the first couple of issues.
It does get a little funny then that half the run involves internal X-Men issues and then adventures on another planet, but there you go.
Then of course, we get the Decimation. We get the move to San Francisco, where, even then, Scott Summers's primary strategy is to make friends with the Mayor and try to have them live openly as part of the community. And it seems to even be working, to an extent, until Civil War and Dark Reign put the kibosh on that. Then we get Utopia, and the mutants under attack.
We do tend to lose the co-existence thread at this point, understandably. Though you could make the argument that Logan's team going back to the Mansion was an attempt to return to the Xavier-style status quo. While Scott's X-Tinction team was meant as a return to the Astonishing style superhero team, only this time scary and a clear lightning rod distraction from the Mansion folks.
Post AvX gets interesting, because you have Logan's team openly working with the Avengers. Scott's team is of course hunted, but somehow the guy still manages to be on every college dorm wall and get a cover of Rolling Stone. The Mutant Revolution at this point is oddly friendlier than Utopia when you get right down to it, and more about trying to set up a place where OTHER mutants get to live in their homes, with their own lives, even if Scott and his team get to live in a Weapon X facility. Even when he abandons the Dream, he really doesn't.
As much as I dislike Death of X and Inhumans vs. X-Men, the Xavier-hater in me gets unpleasantly smug by the idea that the "X" in Death of X does NOT refer to Xavier. Because Xavier is the dreamer, not the dream.
(That may also be why people tend to react really badly when Scott falls off his pedestal. Milquetoast Revolutionary Scott didn't really say anything all that different from his Claremont era characterization, but they act like he's a monster because his edgelord presentation is not the Dream they signed on for.)
It does make Krakoa even more interesting though, because we've got Xavier back. He's back being the architect and the Dreamer. But Krakoa is, when you think about it, the complete antithesis of his own dream!
There are definite good parts to it. Safety, resurrection, the chance for mutants to develop their own individual culture and identity. But it's not an idea that works for everyone. Not everyone WANTS to be separate from human society. And we see that, I think, in Scott Summers.
The Summer House is the gift that keeps on giving in terms of sparking meta. This time though, I think about its location. And where it is NOT. It's cool, it's fancy, it's built with Krakoan plant technology on the moon. But it's not on Krakoa itself, and the more I think about it, the more I think that's significant. During a time that the Council wouldn't even let Scott bring the Champions - superhero CHILDREN to Krakoa for safety, he's having his very human dad for family visits. (I wonder, if Kitty and the Marauders weren't available, would a space ship have been plan B?)
Later, we have the X-Men back in the Treehouse in the middle of New York City, helping the mayor and engaging in all kinds of outreach. Xavier's got his Camelot, so Scott gets to indulge in his own version of the Dream once more.
It's interesting actually, how the From the Ashes version seems to be an interesting amalgamation of vision. In many ways, it's like post-Schism Utopia or even the Revolutionary era - a repurposed base that once belonged to the enemy. A stripped down team focused on tactics and missions. No students at all, this time, except maybe the new mutants they've accumulated accidently.
(I realize it's funny to call the Adjectiveless Team "stripped down" when it's probably got the biggest cast of the X-books so far. But it definitely feels like Rogue's team is the catch all, for any former X-Men to just drift in and out as the writers see fit, while Emma's is basically Generation X, anew. It definitely reads like each member of the Adjectiveless team was chosen for a purpose)
At the same time though, they're not as isolated as Utopia. They're working with the locals. I know some folks were pretty bitter about the idea of Scott courting the local police chief, and I get that, but I also think it's completely in character. They're making a presence for themselves in the town rather than isolated from it, and it'll be interesting to see how that all works together.

I really hate when people will use this scene to try and argue that Uzi "lost her edge" or was being overly insecure or trying to manipulate N or whatever because like-
Not only does she now have overheating issues and have to drink oil (which is essentially Worker Drone blood), but girl literally grew fleshy wings and a tail and murdered five people. I wouldn't expect her to be in the best mental state after that.
Free my girl the demon virus mutated her body against her will and the fandom is blaming her for that.

Propaganda
Elizabeth Taylor (Cleopatra, Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof)—iconic actress with purple eyes and a double row of eyelashes, the real ebony dementia ravenway of old hollywood. known for her stunning tastes when it comes to jewelry and her incredible, incredible advocacy during the AIDS crisis.
Clara Bow (Wings, It)—The original It Girl (literally), Clara was the epitome of a flapper film star. She was obviously a looker, but it was her acting that won over hearts. Watch the movie It (no clowns) to get a sense of her charms. And while she's most known for her silents, (including Wings, the winner of the first ever Best Picture Academy award) she did make some talkies! Contrary to popular belief, sound films didn't ruin her career; she reportedly just hated the process of making them. She had a really interesting background and it's a shame she's not as well remembered as others of her time.
This is round 3 of the tournament. All other polls in this bracket can be found here. Please reblog with further support of your beloved hot sexy vintage woman.
[additional propaganda submitted under the cut.]
Elizabeth Taylor:
Tumblr media
I've been trying to steer clear of the absurdly-big names, but damnit, those violet eyes got me. The *talent*, the *presence*, the string of marriages and (temporally out-of-bounds) work in combating AIDS and pioneering in the concept of the celebrity fragrance line.
Not only did she have gorgeous violet eyes and lashes for days and one of the hottest voices ever, she was also a big supporter of the gay community
Child actress turned starlet, Liz dominated films as one of the greatest screen legends of classic hollywood. If your protagonist has violet eyes, they're imitating hers.
Tumblr media
A Legend. She was serving milf rage in Whos Afraid Of Virginia Woolf. A Star in every sense of the word.
She was renowned for the beauty of her eyes; they were a dark blue but could look violet in certain lighting, something that photographers would actually touch up to look even more so in pictures. But even more striking was a genetic mutation that gave her a double row of eyelashes. She was also famed for her string of husbands -- 8 marriages to 7 men. Two-time hubby Richard Burton once said she was “a wildly exciting love-mistress… beautiful beyond the dreams of pornography.”
Her EYES. Early and loud support for gay rights and AIDS victims. Married a bunch of hot dudes, Burton twice!
just look at her. she's gorgeous. there's a video somewhere of her applying her eyeliner in the mirror and I think about it all the time
Tumblr media
THE Hollywood actress of all time. Not only was she known for her long dark locks and blue-violet eyes, she also had one of the wildest life stories ever….. She’s Carrie Fisher’s stepmother because her father Eddie Fisher cheated on Debbie Reynolds with Liz. She was knighted as a dame of England. She was married to seven different men, one of them twice. She was also very kindhearted and did a lot of charity activism.
Tumblr media
Asides from being an iconic actor, she did a lot of philanthropy and co founded the American Foundation for AIDS research. She’s sometimes considered one of the last great stars of old hollywood
Tumblr media
Clara Bow:
Tumblr media
The original it girl! Flapper icon! She's sooo fun and charming and confident, it just shines through any film or picture you see of her.
I love love love her genderbendy boy style and her cute twinkly performances!! watch wings i s2g she absolutely brings it
Tumblr media
She has gorgeous doe eyes, how can you not love her?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She's literally THE It Girl. Like actually, she's the term's namesake. She was an extremely prolific silent film actress with a reputation for wild behavior who defined the 20s flapper era. Her boyish frame, androgynous style, and red curly hair were widely emulated.

Everybody! I'm sure you all have wondered for awhile, how the Dark AU ends... and I am here to tell you how it does:
Reader, after escaping from the Institute and either discovering a new mutation or finding an artifact, finds they can set things back before they and their friends were killed. The problem? This will send them back before they know them, so everything that has happened, relationships amd friendships and shared lives, that's all null and void.
Reader isn't left with much choice. Their family, they're all crazy now, and they aren't the people they used to know. Their friends have wounds that have left scars, and trauma. The world has suffered over their loss, and fear ruled them. None of it was right. It shouldn't be that way.
Even as they apologize, Reader activates their ability or the artifact, and even as they watch the timeline rewrite itself and everything fade to a new timeline, Reader feels guilt, and feels the haunting weight of that timeline...
They end up back in time, a little before they first met Xavier and the X-Men. When the Incident happens that let them meet, instead of sticking around this time-
Reader runs away.
They can't let that timeline come to pass. They can't watch the people they cared about turn into monsters. They can't fail their friends again. They can't handle the rejection if the others remembered them, or how they might have hated them for changing things... So Reader is on their own now, struggling to make it...
But then, in a moment of pain further on, they gain a new mutation, a few, diffent than their last life...
Stinger-like nails... a venom that can control others... the ability with it to form a hivemind... and superhuman reflexes and strength...
They end up under the wing of someone they fear, someone they cling to at first, an odd lady they only know as Queen, who gives them shelter, a purpose, for a cost...
But Reader, after a few weeks, sees through her, knows she wants to use them to control others, to take over the world... so Reader sticks around, if only to foil her every move, to try and free whoever gets hurt, to stop any upstart villains from taking over, and using Reader, and making everything they gave up all for nothing...
So, they'll play this game for now... but the moment things take a turn for the worse... Reader will cut this conniving Queen out of their web, and free who they can, if they can find a way to do so...
(Yep. The Dark AU, is now officially the prequel au to the Villain Reader AU) (Did I surprise you?)
(Look, I thought it all fit together perfectly. The Dark AU would explain why Villain Reader is so paranoid and scared of others, why they chose to stick it out, and why they have cunning and quick wits) (as those helped them survive the Dark AU)
(The villain au is now renamed... The Hivemind AU!)

I'm back again! Honestly, sorta surprised that so many of my others ones were canon. Anyway...
Xisuma made special patient gowns for Pearl and Joel so their wings can be free
Lizzie is the only one who remembers BigB; Gem doesn't know who this tree guy is in the other room and Martyn wonders who is talking to himself
Zedaph is the main scientist for Impulse and Tango because they feel more comfortable around him (ZITS minus Skizz)
Scar is unceremoniously dragged to and from testing
Bdubs can tell the time and knows how long they've been in the facility
Joel has learned to not react to Lizzie's power so he can assure her that she is not scary
Jimmy was first to be done with the power manifesting and was lonely as he waited
Gem sometimes spies on Ex
Ren uses sign language to talk to Martyn because he knows that speaking is too loud
Grian can't summon a mace when he copies Etho's power
Hopefully I have an original thought, lol. Have a wonderful day/night! <3
Hello! Typing out this part before I read over everything. Let’s see what else you’ve managed to get right, haha!
1.) That would be sweet, but I don’t think it would’ve been his idea. I honestly don’t know if any of the scientists that are named would have thought of that.
2.) Awww, that’s so sad. :(
3.) I can’t believe I never thought about ZITS! As sweet at that would’ve been, Zed has no idea who the subjects are and is under the impression that everyone is a willing participant (can’t remember if I said this or not before). And he only deals with data collection and observation; so, he’s never interacted with the current subjects.
4.) I feel like that’s a given. Yeah, he’s got a mobility aid and braces, but at least some of the scientists get impatient with him.
5.) Ooooh maybe. Even if he doesn’t know through his powers, he’s been keeping track. How does he remember? I have no idea. Bdubs can be an enigma.
6.) You know what? That’s canon now. Boom. Bro gets a little bit startled, but he knows it’s just Lizzie, so he calms down pretty quickly.
7.) I actually haven’t thought about the order in which everyone’s powers manifested. He was probably one of the first, though. I’ve thought that the subjects that are more mutated took longer to manifest their powers, and the ones who look the most normal got theirs earlier on.
8.) Oh, no, absolutely she does. She looks for any kind of weaknesses she can, just in case. She hasn’t been successful yet.
9.) STOOOOP I LOVE THAT.
10.) I think maybe he could, but it’s much smaller and much less durable. It’ll shatter/dematerialize upon hitting something. Etho can at least get a couple of hits in before his does the same.
Not as many this time around, but I love having some food for thought.

// @exile-of-dathomir
Quinn hadn't cared to venture outside their house much, let alone leave their damn planet, but as one could imagine, the Cabin Fever got to them eventually. So, when Quinn's roommate Sanji offered to take them along as she does an off-world commission, they agreed.
Sanji, being a little too cautious about the situation, gave them a blaster, and a comlink, along with credits to protect themselves in the lower levels of Coruscant. The blaster was a little silly, as if their dangerous mutations weren't already enough...
The place had been rather unnerving to navigate. New patterns, new places, new people, were always at least a little upsetting, despite the curiosity. Thankfully, though, Quinn had finally found a decent spot to take a break. A Cafe. From the windows, it looked warm and inviting.
A little hesitantly, they enter, wearing long, large-heeled black boots reaching their knees, black shorts, and a dark blue, oversized men's shirt with the sleeves rolled up and top buttons undone. Long, black gloves cover their arms to their elbows. An outfit designed a little more for practicality, but with the personal touch of three, layered necklaces, each holding their own type of stone. One holds one that is pointed, polished, and purple. The second is raw and red, wrapped in gold wire. The third is a polished, pink, female body also wrapped in gold wire as if being held in Shibari.
Their tail drags behind them to a degree, despite being curled into a spiral to be smaller, and the wing boning on their back, whilst flat as it can be, are still clearly visible as they poke through hand-stitched holes in the back of their shirt.
Quinn hopes they aren't the strangest customer the Cafe has had. Lots of unnecessary attention is something they don't have much energy for.

So in the Emily stays in Hell au…
Who would find Sera first and when?
I assume Sera’s fall is like a meteor crashing down and cratering the ground on impact, the vestiges of divinity gone, everything holy burnt away allowing hell to sink its claws and warp yet another ex-heavenly host. A primal scream of agonizing pain leaves her parched throat and cracked lips. Is that her voice? It doesn’t sound like her voice…
She manages to get to her feet when the pain suddenly hits her full force and she screams again. It feels like something is tearing through her flesh. Her head throbs when a pair of pronghorns burst through her skin. She’s still screaming as her tailbone grows into something long and serpentine seemingly ending with a stinger. Her legs contort and twist into something feline. Sera sobs as claws break through her nail-beds of her charred black forearms. Her sclera blacken as her glowing white irises lose their luster when she spies the remains of her shattered halo in the dirt. There’s so much of her golden blood pooling around her but she doesn’t regret it. She’s so tired and everything hurts but…she has to find Emily, she HAS to find her sister and let her know…but a familiar voice catches her attention…
“…Sera…?”
Then everything goes dark.
Whether divine intervention or sheer luck allowed Carmilla Carmine to find Sera that day, the overlord isn't certain. One moment, she and her girls are scrounging around an old battlefield, looking for weaponry and any other spare mechanical parts they can find, and the next, the sky quite literally opens up above them.
A loud BOOM and a roll of thunder can be heard across the Pentagram, and what sounds like a meteor falling out of the sky. Then, like some sick joke, a deathly sounding hymn follows the cacophony in its wake, and something shatters against the ground, not even half a mile from where they'd been standing.
Carmilla might have turned away. Very nearly does, except she recognizes that particular type of Heavenly body. Not many meteors make their way to Hell; there is no universe or outer space around them to make that possible (generally speaking). No, that sound had been one of an angel falling. In a particularly violent, intentional sort of way; one being forced down, with nothing to break its fall.
She tells her girls to go home. The last time this had happened, Emily had reappeared with Charlie; thankfully, the younger Seraphim hadn't been quite as badly injured as she could have been. Charlie had helped in her descent, but it still wasn't a gentle landing. This person, however...she imagines they are in pain. Quite a lot of pain. And with Lucifer nowhere in sight, she takes it upon herself to be the one to greet this unfortunate soul.
As soon as Carmilla sees the person lying there, however, she knows something isn't right. She's seen angels fall before; it's always a messy ordeal. This one, though...appears to be in mid-transformation. She tries to push herself up, and cries out under the weight of her own pain, and the agony of her twisting, mutating body fighting against her every movement.
Wings are charred. Blackened, with holes and entire feathers missing, having been incinerated up from the fall. They all look different -- some batlike, some like charred bird wings. Horns have already begun sprouting from her head, a tail slashes back and forth in irritation at its new existence, and screaming can be heard as the woman's form contorts and bends upon itself to accommodate these startling new features.
It's the voice that finally tells Carmilla why her gut feeling had been firing off. The closer she gets to this person, the more she recognizes the horrified pitch and timbre of that scream. It's one she had never dared hope to hear again. And witnessing it now, in this circumstance, fills Carmilla Carmine with so much pain, agony, and sorrow, she almost falls onto the ground under the weight of her own grief. She is weeping right along with the woman.
“…Sera…?” Carmilla cries, barely able to keep it together when the person in question looks up at her.
Those eyes. The horns. The wings. All of it is foreign. Twisted and grotesque. A horrific approximation of the woman she had once loved, even at this moment, continuing to reshape and reform in that unfortunate and inevitable change that every Fallen must succumb to. The process is happening much faster with Sera than it had with her, and listening to Sera's screams quite literally makes Carmilla want to die. She is sick to her stomach, and almost empties the contents of her breakfast onto the ground.
"Car---aaaggghhh!" Scales are forming on the tale, while it thrashes around and smacks against the woman's kneeling legs. The horns are becoming less like little pinpricks and more like curved spikes on her forehead, poking through her disheveled, singed hair. Fur is sprouting from her lower limbs, and her eyes are changing color, swirling and twisting in a whirlpool of fire that hasn't quite settled into its new normal yet.
Her wings...oh Fucking Hell, her wings...Carmilla doesn't even want to comprehend what's happening there.
"Carmilla!" Sera screeches, reaching for her with a clawed hand that is still elongating and changing to an onyx black right before her very eyes. "Carmilla, please...! Oh please, god, help me!"
Carmilla rushes to Sera's side. She moves like in a dream. Like time isn't real, and everything is in slow motion. She wants to believe this is only a nightmare she will wake from. She's had several like it before, of Sera eventually falling. But the sight before her is too vile, too horrible, too grotesque to be anything conjured from her mind. Her imagination would never hurt Sera this much.
"Sera! Sera, mi amor, breathe! Just breathe! Take my hand! It will be over soon!"
"Carmilla, what are you even doing here?! I ca-I can't! It hurts! Carmilla, it hurts so much!"
"I know! I know, mi querida. Take my hand! It will be over soon!"
Sera takes Carmilla's large claw in her own, squeezing hard and piercing the skin. Carmilla flinches, but it's nothing compared to the pain that Sera is going through. Carmilla squeezes Sera's hand back, even though her palms are soaked in her own golden blood from where Sera's nicked her skin, and it's trailing down her arm, soaking into her sleeve.
But she doesn't care. It's the absolute last fucking thing on her mind right now.
She can be here with Sera for this. If she can't outright stop the pain, she can guide her through it, at the very least. Be present during the most agonizing thing Sera will ever have to go through. Unlike the last several thousands of years, she won't let Sera be alone in this. No. Never again.
Eventually, things on Sera's body stop shifting and twisting. They settle into a more or less final amalgamation of varying features, which may eventually change or morph even more as Sera settles into her new body. All new Fallen angels must go through something of this sort. Eventually, Sera will learn to control how she looks, and hide some of these features. Just as Carmilla once did. Carmila looks more or less "human" now, for lack of a better comparison. At least more than she did when she first fell.
She'd learned to control it and hide most of what she doesn't like. Now her true form mostly comes out when she is angry, and or when she needs it. Sera will learn her own abilities and limitations, as well. But as things settle down, Sera collapses, overspent and tired from the entire ordeal. Carmilla is grateful that, at least for now, the worst of it is over.
She picks up Sera in her large claws. Sera has always been tall. This manticore-esque creature is no different. But to Carmilla, she weighs like nothing. She never has. Carmilla will always carry her. So she does... carries her back to her compound, so she can call Belphegor. And let Emily know what's happened...that her sister is hurt, but safe.
Sera's world is about to change. Much more than it already has. And this time, Carmilla will be there when she awakens. And for every day and moment and second after that. She will never leave this woman's side again. Ever. She swears it on her life.

POV: You’re My Friend and I’m Telling You About My Book (Status Quo)
Okay, so it's about this boy called Phylum. He’s 18 years old and lives in a massive bunker society 200 years after the apocalypse.
You see, the Yellowstone super volcano erupted and the ash was full of a new mineral that would mutate everything that ingested it, essentailly allowing them to evolve however they needed. Humans freaked out and a bunch of them hid underground so they wouldn’t be exposed.
So anyway, 200 years later (like i said), Phylum joins a team of other biologists to go study the surface for one week every month. However, for some reason, everyone on the team hates him. It has nothing to do with the fact that his society has a eugenics classing system that only lets certain people have kids, and of which he is also part of the highest ranking family. Nothing to do with that at all.
It can’t be! This system is great!
Anyway, when he goes up, they ditch him so he’s left to wander around alone. In all his arrogance, he decides to take a sample of a weird plant without gloves one, not knowing it will kill you almost instantly. He goes to touch it, but just at that moment, a weird, loud girl jumps out of the trees and stops him.
Anyway.
Turns out there are humans on the surface and they aren't feral monsters at all. Canopy (the girl) is actually chill as hell and they become great friends. She is obsessed with wildlife and has a journal full of her own research, so she shows Phylum around and does her best to flirt with him at all times. Hes like major league dumb tho, so he just thinks she likes constantly touching him and snuggling up whenever they sit down.
She has empathy tho (crazy i know) so when he tells her about how his society works, she is grossed tf out and it makes him start to think about it. In fact, as time goes on, he realises that he actually hates his life, his manipulative parents and the propaganda he’s been eating up this whole time.
In between all of these surface expeditions, Phylum decides to explore more of the bunker. This is when he meets Ash (Baby!), a little blind, albino girl from the lowest class. And despite never having an education, she uses the vents to listen to the doctorate lectures above her room. Impressed by her database knowledge of the scientfic names for plants and animals shes never seen before, Phylum takes her under his wing in the hopes he can convince the council to make her an exception and move her up the ranks.
This goes as well as you’d expect...
Heres my book @statusquoofficial and here is the concept art for the cover and the official synopsis. Enjoy! Can’t wait for you to read it!
