the place is hot and damp.

after carrying the heavy baggage of assignment after assignment, the party's a breath of fresh air; despite the suffocating bodies of sweaty college kids. walking through the crowd, all the tension in your body relaxes, and you feel a cool hand on your back.

"y/n! you actually made it!" the voice beams at you. it's hard to hear clearly over the music swelling in your ears, so you turn your body to get a better look at the person greeting you.

it was bokuto, the sweetest man you've ever met. you've been friends with him since freshman year, which wasn't surprising since he got along with practically everyone. despite this, your friendship was special to both of you. meeting on the first day of college eased your nerves, given how tense you were. how couldn't you be? it was the first day, you knew basically no one.

catching yourself drifting into thought, you shift your attention back to him. you realize it's been a few seconds after he said something. your eyes meet his.

"hi kou," you smile warmly at him. you're trying your best to sound like yourself right now. you haven't been to a party in months and while the atmosphere is flashy and fun, you're still a bit on edge.

he notices something's off, making a face akin to when you would quiz him during your study sessions. he gently grabs your hand. "come with me! i was just with saeko in the garage, her and the volleyball team are playing pool!"

as your lips part to reply to him, saeko suddenly appears in front of you both now. she's out of breath. "saeko, what's going on?" bokuto asked, brows slightly wrinkling. he's worried. shit, you are too.

"not now, bo," she replies. she looks at you like you could save her life right now. bokuto stares dumbfoundedly.

"y/n! come with me please, i need a favor. we'll talk later, bo!" saeko passively says goodbye to him as she grabs your hand and leads you away.

"do you know how to dj?" she yells over the music.

i’ve been listening to teezo for quite a while now and while i love his latest/debut album this song just hits on really hot summer days and late-late nights. i love when songs are a little humorous on the surface-level but have a deeper meaning underneath, and the whole double-meaning of “fan” is lyrically exciting to me.

drew barrymore - sza

this song just makes me cry… a lot. the lyrics, the tone — really gotta give it a listen to get what i mean.

listen to my heart - boa <3

you know i already love boa and her discography and its so so soooo hard to narrow it to one song (dont wanna just make this a boa post, but oh boy i could) but the main reason why i chose this one in particular is because i really like the greatest ver. too (maybe even more from time-to-time) which really just shows how timeless it is.

if memory serves me right i knew about doechii back in 2020 but i only really started looking into her music after this colours performance of “stressed.” such a good and powerful song as well as her confidence and eloquence in what she says in all her songs is captivating.

ALLIGATOR BITES NEVER HEAL: DOECHII (probably the hardest i've fallen for an artist who i liked but didn't take the time to explore beforehand. doechii is so awesome and her flows are maybe my favorite in the whole universe. favorite track is BOILED PEANUTS.) CAROUSEL FROM HELL: LUSTSICKPUPPY (i was a huge fan of their other work, and i was so excited to see them drop a full project, and it was exactly what i would hope for. fast and hype as fuck. favorite track is AMERICAN HEALTHCARE.) CHROMAKOPIA: TYLER, THE CREATOR (tyler proves that maybe the big 3 discussion had legs, if only because he should be considered for it. jesus christ. favorite track is DARLING I but i listen to BALLOON and STICKY at least twice every day now) IMAGINAL DISC: MAGDALENA BAY (magdalena bay hasn't always clicked for me! they've been a little too poppy and a little too derivative for me in the past, but this album got me 100% on board for whatever they do next. favorite track is easily SHE LOOKED LIKE ME!) LAUGHINGFISH: BLACK DRESSES (i'm a big fan of devi's work generally & while i am so excited to see whatever both she and ada do next. it does sting that this is (allegedly) the last black dresses album. LAST LOVE SONG ON THIS LITTLE PLANET is so good that it makes me want to scream.) THE 8TH CUMMING: CUMGIRL8 (a surprising new favorite! i'll admit i only clicked on fantano's review of this album because, well. it's an album called the 8th cumming by a group called cumgirl8. but then i listened was like. Oh fuck yeah i love post-punk and i love angry women. favorite track is AHHH!HHHH! (I DON'T WANNA GO) but titling your opening track KARMA POLICE is too funny to not shout it out.)

Recently someone called me arrogant and I was confused because I struggle with confidence I don't think I'm arrogant or come off that way. Then I looked more into astrology and realized why people may think this. I'm pluto, sun, and jupiter dominant I'm also a scorpio rising with jupiter in my 1st house. I think these placements come off as very confident. And tbh I think being self obsessed can be good to an extent because people are always trying to bring you down.

And that brings me to the next observation people ALWAYS try to bring pluto/scorpio placements down. This probably also applys to lilith placements too but yea Ex:

So as a scorpio rising I was bullied a lot when younger especially on my appearance and the way I presented myself. I also have pluto in the 2nd house and I notice people try to "take me down a notch" by insulting my appearance (1st house) and by doing this they think it will lower my self worth/confidence (2nd house).

More about pluto in the 2nd house. I noticed pluto and scorpio can represent what gets a reaction from people. With my pluto in the 2nd house I was thinking it could be my voice, lips, and fashion (2nd house ruled by Taurus, Taurus rules throat, vocal cords, and mouth). Sagittarius is also in my 2nd house and people always talk about my smile it used to be one of the things I'd get made fun of. All of the things I listed above would. I would get comments on my voice and my lips/smile being too big. It was almost like people hated seeing me express happiness? (maybe they were jealous? Because pluto can show jealousy) and if you think about it this is spot on for this placement.

Okay, so I was listening to Doja Cat earlier - and I've been trying to figure out why the "rapper" title for Doja Cat felt iffy for me to accept - and I realized now that she's a lot like Bruno Mars: They both enjoy the genres of rap and r&b (Doja, Bruno respectively) and the real joyfulness of performing in the genre is what shines through - and they often perform it well, so 🤷🏾‍♀️ But the truth of the matter is... especially Bruno - they are not specifically bringing anything different to the table and certain artists do the type of genre better than they do, and add something new ( (i.e. Janelle Monàe with the funk genre, and DOECHII with this Nicki Minaj inspo rap lol).
