Thoughts about Alastor after the episode "Hello, Rosie"

Perhaps first such a small summary for those who haven't read my previous posts about Alastor.

Alastor's deal with someone has worked out. Officially we don't know with whom, but my theory is that it is Lilith.

Alastor is obliged by the contract probably to help/protect Charlie. His intentions are not clear, and he harbours many secrets.

He is not fond of Lucifer. Theories are that he either sees him as a threat to Charlie's hotel and dreams, or he is redirecting negative emotions about his own father and how Lucifer treated Charlie onto him.

Alastor enjoys being in the company of women and probably likes/appreciates Charlie. Perhaps he sees himself as her mentor.

His help, although chaotic and initially incomprehensible seems to be having an effect and actually helping the hotel and Charlie.

Alastor has a weakness for jazz and alcohol, but we don't see him ever drinking alcohol in the series.

His enemy is Vox, but he is more annoyed by Lucifer (probably because he is stronger than him).

Alastor doesn't like to lose or be wrong.

Alastor’s true motivations? - Why is he helping Charlie?

Traditionally, there are loads of spoilers here!

From the outset, Alastor seems interested/intrigued by Charlie sitting in the room and spinning another plan. Clearly he saw an opportunity in. Charlie was alone, so he could talk to her in peace. A plan was already forming in his head.

On Instagram, one girl made a fair analysis of Alastor's facial expressions. What expression on his face signifies what emotion. Which proved to be very helpful in understanding him! Here you have ig: @/sasha_draws.bg She did a really great job! But back to Alastor.

When Alastor feels some negative emotion, lines/wrinkles appear under his eyes. Which is true when you pay attention to the previous episodes, but in this 'Hello, Rosie' it is particularly noticeable.

For most of the time in this episode, Alastor seemed concerned to me.

When Alastor was talking to Charlie I had the impression that he was provoking her. He made Charlie painfully aware of how badly her plans had failed, which seems cruel. Initially this could be understood as simply an opportunity to take advantage of Charlie and make a deal, but I think this is just an added benefit. Alastor is bound by his contract to the hotel and Charlie, so he can't leave her. But Alastor has besides made Charlie realise that she can't idly brood on the bed because she doesn't have that luxury. Her friends were waiting for a plan, they were waiting for Charlie.

Charlie gave up at that point, and Alastor made her realise that there was still a chance to make things right somehow. He exasperated her, and showed her that she couldn't give up - in a rather cruel way but still, it's not always kind words or words of support that help you up.

Sometimes the painful realisation of the truth is the best motivator to undertake change.

For a moment, Alastor seemed annoyed that Charlie thought she had him figured out because she smiles all the time. He made her realise that the opposite is true.

A smile can be a weapon on many fronts. You could say that he gave Charlie some cue about his own behaviour. His lecture about smiling shows a lot about him.

Alastor hides a lot - his emotions, motivations or goals. He revealed to Charlie that he himself puts on a mask. The smile gives Alastor a sense of control.

The question is, isn't Alastor also lying to himself in this way?

He is creating himself as a cruel overlord, a person without a conscience who inflicts suffering on others for fun. It makes me wonder if he hasn't started to believe himself in the character he wants to pretend to be?

Nevertheless, no matter how good Alastor's goals may be attributed to him, or that his actions have a good effect on the hotel and Charlie, he still made a deal with her. He was aware that Charlie would not give up her soul to him and would not do anything against herself. Their deal is that Charlie is to help him like friend to friend when he needs it without hurting anyone, and he will give her information. Quite a specific arrangement and very narrow. To me their deal is a bit of a lifeline for Alastor when he finds himself trapped by his own contract.

[As an aside, I've noticed that a lot of people think that the stitches appearing on Alastor's lips are a sign that he can't talk about his deal. I doubt this because of the design of his character. Alastor was shown at many points to be dealing with voodoo or somehow connected to it. This is indicated by the green symbols that appear when he uses his powers, and the stitching that appears on his mouth probably refers to the very design of the voodoo dolls, which also had their mouths stitched in this way. Ironically in my opinion, voodoo is generally good magic, focusing on healing or helping, which doesn't really fit Alastor. Unless one considers the distinction between white and black magic as it is known in New Orleans. But I also point out that I'm not an expert, but I'm just partly familiar with the subject of voodoo and just wanted to show a reference to Alastor's appearance here].

I think Alastor's worry or uncertainty is most evident when he leads Charlie to Rossie. You can see the look on his face and those wrinkles under his eyes. This could be interpreted as:

he's upset that the angels are about to exterminate in the hotel and the only person who can oppose it is preoccupied with his love problems rather than more important matters.

He is upset/worried that he realises he won't be able to help Charlie this time, so he leads her to the only person who is more knowledgeable about love than him: Rossie.

He is nervous because he sees that he might fail if the hotel is destroyed, and that this might somehow breach his contract.

Alastor and Rossie seem to have a very intimate relationship, which was implied in the episode " Scrambled Eggs" when they were at the Overlords meeting. Now we have confirmation that they are very close friends. Rossie can afford a lot in Alastor's company and he allows her to do so. It also seemed to me that when he met Rossie he relaxed a bit, as the wrinkles under his eyes disappeared for a few scenes.

All in all, I'm not surprised that Alastor and Rossie are friends.

Rossie is the opposite of Alastor in a way. She seems transparent in her feelings and genuinely cares about her cannibals. But she also has the strength and power to allow herself to do so. Alastor, on the other hand, plays and hides emotions all the time, and gains power through fear. Despite this, he gets along very well with Rossie, which may mean he's not quite what he makes himself out to be.

I also think that Rossie's words about it being actions that show true nature and feelings may apply to Alastor and his role in season two in the future. But we can already see this now, for example, in the fact that his duet with Lucifer, where Alastor sang that he wanted to replace Charlie's father, ultimately led to a reconciliation between daughter and father which Alastor seemed to be happy with.

We also have it made clear that Alastor is asexual.

Rossie commented that Alastor could learn manners from Charlie. It is possible that what is meant is that when someone annoys Alastor, he does not mince his words. He makes his opinion clear - Susan is a perfect example of this.

Alastor and Rossie really seem close to each other, such as when they look at each other when Charlie panics, or how they dance with each other or their negativity towards Susan. Additionally, Alastor must have had a close business relationship with Rossie since she had an assignment for him and when she said that he never let her down. I got the impression that this gave him considerable satisfaction. Plus it helped the image he wanted to create for Charlie - that he was reliable.

Alastor also seems to put his faith in Charlie after all. Rather than believing in her plan of salvation for sinners, he believes more in the girl's ability to draw crowds and motivate people to action other than through fear or deals. It is hard to say whether he admires this trait of Charlie's, but he certainly appreciates her for it.

Alastor supported Charlie during her song when she had to convince the cannibals to fight - either by giving her the microphone or showing her a thumbs up. I further related that he was slightly worried/nervous, but also pleased after seeing his actions bear fruit.

Alastor also made it clear to Rossie that he valued Charlie and expected nothing less from her than to thrill the crowds. But the important thing is that he referred to her as the Princess of Hell, not Charlie. Alastor has made it clear for the first time that he wants to fulfil Charlie's potential, this shows that despite the faith he has in her, he still only sees her as the Princess of Hell and not Charlie as someone who is more than just a princess.

Kallamar - God of Pestilence

Kallamar is a child born at the end of the Great War of the Gods. Orphaned and left to fend for himself, he had to learn to cope somehow. He lived in constant fear that someone might harm or take advantage of him. He hid from the world, barely managing to survive. One day, when he was hiding in a cave of some kind, cold and hungry, he wanted to give up. To fall asleep and never wake up. But that day he had a dream. He saw high mountains on the horizon, a great lake surrounded by forest. And there they stood. A great cobweb, dignified and elegant. They looked as if they were looking for someone. As if they were looking for him. The next day he woke up and wanted to find them. He didn't know why, but he felt they were their family. They were looking for them because even if they hadn't seen each other they already loved each other.

The next day he set out to look for his siblings. He didn't know how far away the place was, but something told him he would eventually find them. During this journey, he discovered that the water was listening to him. He could shape it to his will, as well as find its sources. He also noticed that his wounds were healing faster than usual. He felt as if something was awakening within him. And at night he dreamt.

He was already dreaming not only about the Arachnid, but he was also seeing others. He saw a black cat, a red toad and a worm. They were older, he was too, but the most important thing was that he was happy then.

When he got there, she was gone. It scared him, what if the dreams were just dreams. But then he heard them. ‘I think we are a little late, Kallamar,’ they said in a calm voice. And he burst out crying, running towards them. They embraced in a hug, and Kallamar only whispered their name. ‘Shamura’

Some highlights:

He was a crybaby as a child and never left Shamura's side for the first few years.

He was interested in the uses of various plants. He noticed that, properly prepared, they could speed up the healing of wounds. The older he got, the more interested he became in medicine.

He has a sense of style. His hobby was collecting rare minerals and making jewellery out of them. He bestowed them on his most trusted followers and spouses.

He created engagement rings for Heket and Margo.

The new episode "Helluva Boss" was simply amazing. "Mammon's Magnificent Musical" sparked my imagination. 😍🎬

Very cool to watch the relationship between Fizzarolli and Asmodeus. 🌈💑 Their relationship is full of support and deep love. The end of the episode just enchanted me, and that's when I felt I had to reach for the stylus and let the inspiration work! 🚀🔥 Here's the result - I hope you like it too! 🤗🖌️

Leshy - God of Chaos

It's time for Leshy's official project!

The youngest of the siblings and the youngest bishop

He was born after the Great War of the Gods and has only heard about it from the stories of his older siblings

He is chaotic and full of energy. He does whatever comes into his head without worrying about the consequences.

He loves spending time with his siblings, with Narinder being the one he looks up to the most.

He considers himself the master of pranks. His victim most often is Kallamar.

He rules over plants and his rituals are most often related to them. He knows every plant and its use.

He maintains his own garden where he experiments with plant species. He often gives plants to Heket, who makes various concoctions or spices from them.

The twigs on Leshy's head change with the seasons. In winter its twigs languish and there are no leaves on them. In spring they are full of camellias, in summer they are covered with green leaves and in autumn they change colour.

I'm going to have to create some sort of masterpost for COLT, because I'm slowly creating a story and have a bunch of ideas.

I think an Au will be created out of it, but I haven't come up with a name yet. I have an idea for the Bishops story, which will be partly shown in the Heket and Margo story.

I also have the history of Bertie's cult written down. Lots of history and an idea for my own OC.

I have a lot of ideas and I hope I can make them happen.

Organize their time, craft their adventures, and keep them entertained. But here's the twist – something’s gone terribly wrong! 😱 Everyone who enters the Circus is trapped, with no memories of who they are or how they got there. That’s when Caine steps in to help them adjust… or does he? 🤔

Caine rules the entire digital circus with absolute power, yet there are two things even he can’t do: read the players' minds and free them from this digital hell. But is it really impossible to escape from here? 😈

Are Pomni and her friends doomed to stay here forever, or is there something more sinister going on behind Caine's charming facade? 😳

And let’s not forget Bubble! 🎈 Caine’s quirky sidekick, who seems to be more of a nuisance than a helper most of the time. 😅

Heket - Goddness of Famine

It's time for my favorite Heket!

Here's an updated look of the goddess of hunger in my style. You don't even know how much fun I have designing character looks. It's very relaxing and interesting, and at the same time gives me a lot of satisfaction.

But it's time for Heket! I wanted her design to resemble the one from the game, but to have a certain detail from me. It is known that it is the design of her clothes itself, but I also added yellow tattoos. They add such a character to her.

I wanted the color scheme of the clothes to match the rest of her siblings, but also to make her stand out. Her belt and the clothes on her hips are in her favorite colors, which symbolize her land, Anura.

And now it's time for some interesting facts about Heket:

She was found as a baby by Narinder, who took her to the rest of the bishops.

Even as a teenager, Heket matched the strength of her siblings, although she lacked experience in battle.

Before Narinder's betrayal, she was very attached to her siblings. Shamura and Narinder were her role models, as was Kallamar, but she preferred not to show it to him. She knew he would boast about it. She always wanted to be a similar role model for Leshe as his older sister.

Before Narinder's betrayal, Heket cared about her followers and tried to make them live in prosperity.

Her rituals are related to the land and crops. Most of them take place at sunset or at night.

Heket has a temperamental nature. She is quick to get angry, and hates it when something doesn't go her way.

She doesn't want anyone to see that she has made a mistake or that she is failing at something. She prefers to solve her problems on her own.

As for the story, I have not forgotten it. I just can't find a moment for it. Not only do I have work but also other projects and I just can't manage it. I need to finish a few things and I'll get back to the story “Unmortal love”.

I recently spent a lot of time drawing the characters from ‘The Amazing Digital Circus’, and I have to say it was a pleasure! 😍

These characters are really great and original, plus the rich colour scheme. It's hard to tear yourself away from sketching them. Each one of them has something special - it makes you want to draw them again and again.

Pomni - the newest member of the Digital Circus, a sceptic about everything who finds it hard to believe she's stuck in a digital world.

Jax - a cynical funnyman who makes fun of everyone, and violence is an indispensable part of his behaviour.

Kinger - the oldest member of the circus who, despite his madness, has not become a monster (yet).

Gangle - a character who can only express his emotions through the use of theatre masks. And a certain someone (Jax) destroys her laughing mask every now and then.

Raghata - One of the most friendly and positive characters in the circus.

Zooble - Probably the least well-known character in the circus, mostly presenting herself as a tease, but she has heart.

Caine - Extremely advanced AI tasked with managing the circus and stopping people from abstracting themselves. He claims it's impossible to escape from the circus because the way out simply wasn't programmed by the creators, but are you sure?

And Bubble? He's the kind of sidekick to Cain who is more of a hindrance than a help.

Studio Glitch really shows class in making this cartoon. Although we're only two episodes in so far, ‘The Amazing Digital Circus’ is already engaging and surprising with its storyline and characters. It's amazing how quickly this world can hold your interest, I can't wait for the next episodes! 🎨✨

💥 After watching Deadpool & Wolverine, I couldn’t stop thinking about how different yet fascinating these two characters are. On one hand, there’s Deadpool—full of energy, unpredictable, with his funny and wild personality. On the other, Wolverine—tough, relentless, but also full of strength and inner depth. Which character do you like more? 🤔

Personally, I love them both because each has something unique to offer. Inspired by their incredible dynamic, I created a fan art using markers, and I’m really proud of how it turned out! 🎨🖌️ I think I managed to capture their distinctive traits, and I hope you’ll like it too.

I’m curious to hear your thoughts—who do you prefer, Deadpool or Wolverine?

Alastor is a character I really like. Not only for the mystery we see in the series, but also for his design <3

Alastor resembles a deer, and I think deer have something dark and disturbing about them which is perfect for Alastor's character.

Certainly, the deer antlers that hang at my grandmother's house did not contribute to this….

I'm a horror fan and I listen to creepypastas or other scary stories to sleep, so it's no wonder I like Alastor so much.

And here are some small thoughts on the Hazbin Hotel finale! So much has been going on that I'm having trouble getting my emotions and thoughts together! It came out really great!

So many things to think about and analyse after the Hazbin Hotel final!

Lilith - and her lounging on the beach in (presumably) heaven. She didn't seem happy to be interrupted by Lute. But how? What is she doing there? From Lute's words, it seems that Lilith had some sort of deal with Adam, who, through his death and Charlie's antics, their deal lost its power. It's hard to say what that might be about, because I find it hard to believe that Lilith would just lie back and have a go at everything. She loved The Hell and from the pictures you can see in the series she cared about her family. Maybe she made a deal with Adam to walk away from her family and go back to Adam and he wouldn't touch Charlie and Lucifer?

Sir Pentious - just excellent character development. Vivzie did a nice number with his story. Death. He dead in the name of friendship and his values. He experienced redemption! And everyone was betting that Angel Dust would be first XD But Sir Pentious deserved it. I'm sure the rest of the hotel team will find out very soon that Pentious is alive. Emily I'm counting on you! Sera's face was priceless!

Vaggie and Carmila's song was beautiful and wonderful. And I like how Charlie and Vaggie's love is so pure. They have something really special and strong.

Rosie was great too! I didn't expect her to be so charming and supportive. I'm not surprised that Alastor likes her.

Alastor… My favourite deserves a separate post to analyse his behaviour. But there we have it! Alastor is on a leash! He's got a deal that scares him and he's trying to get away from it. But I am increasingly doubting that he is relying on Charlie's help…. Al seemed terrified, although it's hard for me to tell at the moment in these emotions whether he was terrified by the very deal he'd made, or that the deal was taking away his freedom. It seems to me that Alastor craves power and authority, but rather not because he is narcissistic. It's more because more power might give him the ability to break this deal.

Just who did he make it with that it scares him so much? My theory was Lilith, but it's hard to tell now…. We just don't know what Lilith is like and we don't know her motivations, so it's hard to say if she was the one who made the deal with Alastor. If so, what is the true nature of this deal? I think the favour Charlie has with Alastor will be related to his deal. Maybe he will ask her to help him break it? After all, Charlie is a princess of hell, maybe she has the power to break such a deal?

Alastor also seems to be attached to the other residents of the hotel. He is changing! Perhaps he is mellowing through Charlie and becoming slowly good, or at least less cruel?

And his relationship with Niffty is just adorable!

The next season promises to be really exciting. There will definitely be more of Vox, Valentino and Velvette battling for power. Lilith will be back, there will be a new hotel…. There's so much going on!

I can't wait for the next season! As for Alastor, when the excitement subsides and I calm down a bit I'll be sure to analyse our radio demon in detail.

Leo and Donnie's perspective: When you know something is happening and you know you should do something, but you don't know what. You fully rely on your big brother to tell you that everything will be fine. After all, an older brother can't be wrong?

I think Rick and Diane are my new comfort characters. Drawing them is very comfortable and gives me a lot of joy ^^

I think when Rick was working in the garage on some experiment Diane sometimes liked to get in his way.

Diane seems like the type of person who would be more open with her feelings. She probably made it clear how much she cared about Rick.

Cult of the Lamb - Au

For now still nameless au/story.

I'm thinking of a title, but for now I have a blank in my head.

In total, I have three main story ideas:

"Nothing Becomes Five" - would focus on the story of Shamura and how they became God of War, and how Shamura met her siblings. I already have part of the concept written, and I think I'll make it into a comic book. But I don't know yet, it depends on how time permits.

"(Un)Mortal love". - This is a story I am currently writing, focusing on the story of Heket and Margo. The time of the plot is from when Heket became a bishop until her death by Lamb.

Heket will soon become a Bishop. Absorbed in preparations for her first sermon, she tries to impress her older siblings. Ever since they found her, she has dreamt of becoming like them - powerful gods. Unfortunately, preparing for her first sermon is not as easy as she would like, and her stubbornness prevents her from asking other gods for help. A snow-white fennec fox, Margo, stands in her way and Heket's life takes on new colors. A feeling emerges that she has not known before. Will Heket be able to love a mortal with all the consequences? Will the Goddess of Hunger survive the worst possible betrayal or will she lose herself?"

Narinder - God of Death

Narinder is one of my favourite characters, in the game he is a powerful and vengeful god of death. There was only one breed of cat that suited me! Maine Coon! 😈 It is a very characterful breed and difficult to raise, more so than other cats. A perfect match for Narinder. I designed his outfit with this in mind too. He is the only one of his siblings to wear so much white, because although he identifies with his siblings he wants to stand out. 😎 He cares about being god enough, although he doesn't know exactly what that means himself. He thinks his godly duties will give him satisfaction and allow him to fill a strange void and understand what he is missing.

Unlike his siblings, Narinder discovered his powers when he was a child. He didn't know how to deal with them or understand the power of the crown. He did not understand the reverence that his family and other villagers began to surround him with. He did not see what the heavy gaze he encountered from some was. He couldn't understand why everyone treated him so special. Why was he not allowed to do so many things, but other children were allowed to play? Why was it that he was the one being made these strange sacrifices and other children were given toys?

Why did his house, if he could call it that, burn down? Why were people so afraid of him?

But THEY found him. The ones he dreamt about every night. The purple spider and the squid. His siblings.

Jax in my style

This time it is Jax! He is a character who teases others with his jokes. He is the person who brings destruction. He destroys things and creates confusion. He also takes pleasure in it. I wonder how his character will develop further, because his concept seems interesting to me. A person locked in a trap with no way out who takes out his frustration in the most destructive way he can. That's a recipe for a thrilling cartoon and a pretty good show.
