Resurrection of the Daleks
The Doctor and his companions come back to Earth where a time tunnel connects 1980s London to a prison ship containing Davros! #DoctorWho #DrWho #ResurrectionOfTheDaleks #PeterDavison #FifthDoctor #Review #ClassicDoctorWho #Daleks #Davros
The Daleks are dead! Long live the new Daleks!Davros Synopsis Davros is held captive on a prison ship, but his creations are coming to rescue him. Review I have a bit of a soft spot for Resurrection of the Daleks. It is amongst the first five stories I ever saw of the original run of Doctor Who, and whilst it is possibly the weakest of the 1980s Dalek stories, it is still a good story in its…

“The Watcher”
Season 2, episode 36 - 3rd July 1965
Tumblr media
[id: Steven and the Doctor stand outside the Tardis, Steven holding a horned helmet that the Doctor has just handed him. The Doctor looks at him and says “What do you mean, maybe? What do you think it is? A space helmet for a cow?” /end id]
Ah, this so episode was the source of everyone misquoting the Tardis’s initials as “dimensions” instead of “dimension.” It was all Vicki’s fault.
Fun: 5/5, this serial generally strikes a better balance between the comedy and the drama than The Romans did, and I already love that story. In particular, the way that most of the humour is driven by the Tardis team’s interactions with each other and the environment, rather than being an inherent part of the world for this episode, works really well, and there’s a reason that style is often the default for the show from this point onwards.
Production: 4/5, the historical setting is surprisingly good here, but there’s not really much to say about that.
Pacing: 5/5
Character Writing & Use: 4/5, from the very first scene, I love Steven and Vicki’s dynamic so much, and this story primarily acts as a showcase of that pairing while Dr Who does things to do with the plot and the Monk elsewhere.
Depth: 3/5
Not Ageing Horribly: 4/5, a historical set in England means less opportunity for massive amounts of racism, however it also allows for no people of colour at all, which, given this is the 1960′s, is probably good, but worth pointing out.
Overall Score - 25/30

Fun Fact Number One: One season before he became the Sixth Doctor, Colin Baker played another Gallifreyan named Commander Maxil, who shot the Doctor and Colin Baker has joked that that's how he got the role. Also Colin Baker played Commander Maxil with a high ego (even for a Gallifreyan) that the producer, John Nathan-Turner asked Colin Baker to tone it down because it was called "Doctor Who" not "Commander Maxil" but Colin Baker was intentionally playing Maxil as if he were the main character, saying that no person would ever consider themselves as a minor character in someone else's life, so he played Maxil as if he were the main character.
Fun Fact Number Two: Nicola Bryan (my second favorite classic companion after Leela) played American Companion, Perpugilliam "Peri" Brown but she is actually British and she was required to always speak in an American accent even when they weren't shooting, in fact, Colin Baker didn't even know she was British until years later at a dinner party when she was talking in her real accent.

Just six more days! Here’s Mel Bush and the Sixth Doctor. Drawing his jacket very nearly caused me to go blind. In research for this one I watched “Trial of a Time Lord” which was much better than I anticipated. I’ve not spent much time w this Doctor so that’s my recommendation.

I really want to like The Giggle but it’s missing something the same way the worst Q episodes of Star Trek miss something: Q doing random bullshit cannot be the primary driver of the plot. Wacky Q nonsense is fun but it needs to have a purpose and in all the best episodes (Q-Who, Tapestry, All Good Things…) Q does just enough silly bullshit to get Picard to the real plot: whatever lesson he’s intended to learn. The Toymaker has none of this going on, he’s messing with the Doctor just because…. he’s an antagonist I guess?? So what was the point of the companion puppet show scene? If the Toymaker is trying to critique how the Doctor has handled caring for his companions and losing 1/4 of the universe to the flux then it’s really interesting! Or is he contriving this situation to warn the Doctor about the One Who Waits? But no he’s just being irritating because that’s who he is. The puppet show scene is so good and yet it goes nowhere (WELL THATS ALRIGHT THEN).
I don’t need or want the Toymaker to be a rehash of Q, but this episode would’ve really stuck the landing he had an actual reason for doing what he did. It would also make the sudden ‘losing the game of catch’ make sense. Q intends for Picard to win once he grasps the point. The Toymaker intentionally losing as a covert message to the Doctor (because that’s the only way he can communicate/he’s afraid of something idk) would be brilliant. And he could still kill people and be a menace! Q didn’t particularly care when people died in his episodes (Q-Who especially) in fact he blamed it on Picard being reckless even though it was he’s fault they were there in the first place.
Anyway this episode was so close and yet so far ughhhh I need doctor who to get better and fast

hi friends! big rant incoming— i want to clarify this isnt targeted at anyone, im just noticing a pattern and im getting a little upset with some of the requests im being sent ):
something that really bothers me is the babyfication of giyuu tomioka. the fandom infantilizes the dude way too much. and its even worse when you throw shinobu into the mix and have her being a maternal figure to him when she herself is an eighteen year old who has worked as a hashira since she was a teenager. she does not need to be put into these situations where she’s taking care of her older peers all the time
i see this happen a lot and i feel its rooted in misogyny whether people recognize it or not. almost always the male characters are thrown into positions where the female character has to take care of them and its really frustrating
shinobu isnt a maternal character at all. to inosuke and the younger ones, it’s different, but if i keep seeing her being a mom to giyuu im actually going to lose my mind. giyuu isnt some uwu depressed baby who cant stand up for himself. he is just as mean as sanemi and obanai. he trained to survive and operate in horrible situations and fight for his life for years. hes a grown man and a hashira. he would not be babied by anyone, especially not someone who he has known since she was around fourteen years old
you may say “well ghostbite dont you do this with mitsuri and obanai”… sure. perhaps i am a hypocrite. but you must remember mitsuri is just sort of like that. she loves cute things and she loves fawning over everyone and everything. her scenes with nezuko. her introduction scene in the hashira meeting with her gushing over everyone. she hand feeds tanjiro pancakes in the recent season. she refers to people as “cutie.” etc etc etc
the difference with obanai and giyuu is obanai is often characterized as a yandere simp who is a huge bully to giyuu and tanjiro. he’s not. i like to put him in deaging situations a lot because unlike everyone else, he’s been through hell since birth. he’s never, not once, had a moment of peace. he had no siblings growing up to protect him— he had no loving parents, etc. he never felt love and he believes he is undeserving of it and should never reciprocate it. so here comes mitsuri, the epitome of love. he takes care of her. he watches after her. he is devoted to her. if something happens to him, especially if it’s a situation where he’s much smaller and weaker and in need of care, mitsuri would drop everything to help him. if it were mitsuri, obanai would do the same for her. it’s in both of their characters to do this. them being in these situations makes sense
i love shinobu. she would not. she does what a doctor does, looks for a cure, checks in here and there, and leaves it at that. she is not giyuu’s “mama.” she is an eighteen year old girl who has her own bucketload of issues. if you need her in a maternal role then use inosuke or literally any of the butterfly girls— the kids she actually takes in and takes care of. not her 21 year old coworker who is more than capable
if anything i think shinobu should be put in deaging situations. have giyuu take care of her instead. mix it up a little. but people are so attached to the idea of having every single caregiver role go to the woman that it’s unlikely we’ll see that
this is not a criticism on giyuu. i love giyuu. but i need people to stop treating him like a defenseless baby, and for people to quit seeing shinobu as responsible for him as a caregiver or a mother
tdlr: please stop asking me to draw or write deaged giyuu stuff. someone else can do that. i dont like deaged giyuu. tiny 21 trio is essentially on hold because of this ): i keep getting nonstop requests for deaged giyuu and im so tired, especially because people are framing it in a “you should replace obanai with giyuu” lens, or adding “mama shinobu doing x with baby giyuu”
it’s tiresome and frustrating. i love to make content for you guys, and i love when its something that appeals to you in a comforting way, but if you want specific content with giyuu— you’re very much in the wrong place. i hate the fandomification of him and shinobu— it makes me uncomfy and sad.
other people are deaging giyuu and putting him in situations— go ask them instead of me. i would rather highlight misunderstood and underrated characters like obanai and gyomei or my own personal faves (muichiro) then constantly loop the same exact character over and over again
all this to say im doubling down on the babybu and babynai and pintsized pillars aus. if you keep asking for baby giyuu and maternal figure shinobu my spite makes me stronger. hashtag let shinobu be taken care of for once. she’s already the doctor for an entire organization give my girl a break

Warriors of the Deep
On an underwater base in 2084, in the midst of a conflict between two power blocs, the Silurians and Sea Devils look to reclaim the planet. Warriors of the Deep is this week's #TBT! #DoctorWho #DrWho #Davison #WarriorsOfTheDeep #Silurians #SeaDevils #Tegan #Turlough #Blog #Review

Doctor Who 21.21 The Twin Dilemma Part One
This story is famous for being 'the' worst story from the show, and it's really stupid, the most famous scene from the first episode is this one where the Doctor tries to Strangulate Peri during a maniac episode because of his Regeneration trauma, From what I heard is that script editor Eric Saward, deliberate wrote stuff like this and other scene where the Doctor is just a complete dick to self sabotage the show because he didn't like that John Nathan Turner pick Colin Baker to be the Doctor !!
Colin Baker is also the best thing in this story, is acting is really attention gripping, even if most of his scenes actually kill the character !!! I need to see more of him the role to have a good opinion of his Doctor, he is a really good actor actually.
Other funny aspect about this, this story is actually the final story from season 21, the idea was to introduce the new Doctor early own so that everyone would be more accustom with Colin on the role in the next season, a good idea actually, but they shot themself in the foot with a bad story like this !!! Funny bit is that Russel T. Davies did the same thing twice, and successful, introducing both new Doctor after theirs generation's in a Christmas special !!!

#21 fluff for Matt Rempe please :)
Prompt: “You’re the only one I have opened up to like this.”
Tumblr media
“Did it hurt?”
You hand hesitantly moving to touch the black and blue mark that had found its place on Matt’s eye, trying not to inflict any more pain on him.
“When I fell from heaven? Nah, it wasn’t too hard of a fall.”
Rolling your eyes at him, he couldn’t help but laugh. His humor the one thing you could always count on, no matter the situation.
“Ha ha, you’re hilarious.”
“Well I sure think so!”
The two of you sat in Matt’s apartment as you’d put in your doctor cap and attempted to help his newly acquired battle scars from yet another fight. To be honest you didn’t know how he was still actively participating in the fights. His face surely couldn’t take another punch after 3 fights in a row.
“I mean, sure it hurts. It definitely doesn’t feel good. But, I kind of signed up for this you know?”
Walking the first aid kit back to the bathroom, you’d someone scoffed at his words. “Mmm, signed up for that? I disagree. I don’t know if anyone signs up for that.”
While he understood what you meant, he disagreed. Matt always knew he wasn’t going to be the next Crosby or Ovechkin. And because of that, he had to excel in other areas.
He sighed as you rejoined him on the couch, his demeanor now changing as he seemed exhausted. His body finally waving the white flag that it needed a break.
“I just, I love hockey. So much. And, I know that I’m not the greatest skater, I’m not scoring 80 goals a season, hell I probably won’t even play 80 minutes a season. But I know that I can support the guys who can do those things. And maybe that’s through fighting. Sure, I don’t necessarily love getting my face bashed in. But I’m willing to get punched in the face, if that means getting to put on that jersey and play in a place like Madison Square Garden.”
The emotion in his voice almost bringing you to tears, you knew how much he loved the sport. But hearing him talk about it like this, hearing him be vulnerable and not the joking goof ball he normally was. It was refreshing. For him to just be Matt Rempe, a normal 21 year old guy who is working his butt off to make a name for himself.
“I love that, every single thing you said. And I wish more people got to see this side of you. Because this I’m sure is more meaningful to people. Your love and passion for the sport, I’m sure your teammates would love to hear you talk like this too.”
He shyly laughed as he tried to climb off his sappy soapbox.
“You’re the only one I’ve opened up to like this.”
His fingers intertwined with yours as he leaned in to give you a kiss. A thank you for being by his side and supporting him through it all. And for putting up with him on days he looked like he’d been in a horrific bar fight.
“Well, I’m honored that you opened up to me. Now, let’s get you into bed, I have a feeling someone is definitely sleeping in tomorrow.”
“Oh yeah, please don’t wake me until at least 7pm.”
