hey ralph! i was wondering if we could talk about charities. i totally agree with you that there's a lot of charities that revolve around helping individuals (or blaming them, in your words) while ignoring the structural problems that put them in that situation in the first place. so my honest question is: how is in your opinion the best way for a charity organization to approach those issues with social responsability? since they don't really have the power to actually fix everything. +++

Thanks for these asks anon - they’re really interesting. And thank you for your love. I don’t take ridiculous asks as indicative of much and I do take interesting one’s as a sign people are engaged with my blog.

I think I start from a slightly different premise from you. In general, I don’t think rich people should be doing more. Rich people tend to be rich because of the harm they are doing to the world and one of the functions of charitable work is to obscure this reality (this is why google camp has me talking about the guillotine).

In Harry’s case (and other 1D members and big touring musicians in general), a huge part of their wealth comes from the production of merch in wildly exploitative and damaging ways. The supply chain involved in producing merch involves huge environmental damage, horrific working conditions (including substantial levels of violence and sexual violence), poverty wages and direct attacks on union organising when people try and improve their wages and conditions. There’s no way Harry (or anyone else in his position) could undo the damage done in the production that makes him wealthy, by giving a fraction of that wealth away.

(I know there are people who will immediately widen out this specific point. My worldview is that the people who are responsible for the harm done by production are those who control it (even indirectly through subcontracting) and who collect the profit. Consumers, and other workers in the production process, do not control production or benefit from it and pretending that individuals who buy things are responsible for the damage caused in their production is an ideological project to hide who actually has power and wealth).

There’s another distinction I’d like to make - I think that some charities that present themselves as helping individuals also blame them for their position use rhetoric (or practices) that blame them for being in that situation, but not all do. One of the things that really struck me about the donations Harry chose to support on tour was that as soon as he hit America the rhetoric got much more right-wing and blaming individuals. Up till America a lot of the charities were like ‘people don’t have this thing - we provide it’. When you got to America the charities all described themselves as not just providing things for people, but improving them (for example rather than just giving people who are hungry food, they’ll talk about encourage people to make better choices. Even the LGBTQ charity he supported talked of pathways to independence). That idea that working-class people, poor people, people without resoruces, disenfranchised people, need to be changed - that’s what I object to and think is wildly reactionary and harmful.

To talk in slightly more positive terms - I actually think if you have resources and you’re figuring out how to help ‘Let’s make someone happy today’ is a good starting point. Give money to homeless people, pay into people’s gofundme accounts, buy sick and disabled kids playstations. If the problem is that people’s needs aren’t being met, then meet those needs, don’t suggest that people need to be changed so they can get their needs met. If you want to be a little bit systematic than giving coins to people you see on the street - then look for charities that are unconditional in what they do, rather than those that try and draw distinctions between the deserving and undeserving poor (Harry promoted some sort of running for the homeless charity that was the absolute opposite of this - to the extent that just thinkign about it’s existence makes me apoplectic with rage).

(Incidentally, there is research to suggest that when people’s needs are met in an unconditional way it’s much easier to make changes they want to make in their own lives. That programmes that think that homeless people need to be transformed are nowhere near as transformative as programmes that give homeless people a house. But for me that’s incidental - the reasons I’ve discussed in the paragraphs above are more important.)

You mentioned thinking about Harry saw charity. I don’t think we can tell - particularly not in the terms that I’m talking about. He’s supported a range of charities, including those that operate on a hugely controlling model. I agree that he probably wants to help and I suspect his ideas about what that mean would seem incoherent and wrong to me. It’s notable that a programme that kept services from homeless people unless they went for a run didn’t set off any red flags for him.

To give a more personal answer - I tend to see money as a form of solidarity. I don’t tend to give to super large organisations, because the chances that they’ll do things I disagree with increases exponentially. There are organisations that combine meeting people’s needs with advocacy that I think are really worth supporting. For example in NZ welfare advocacy organisations help ensure people get their entitlements and help in really important ways. But they then learned a lot about what is wrong with the system and can use that knowledge to advocate for change. Organisations that meet refugee and migrants needs and advocate on their behalf were vital to exposing the Windrush scandal here in the UK. Finding these sorts of organisations

I also think it’s important to look beyond charities (charitable status can be very limiting) and giving money to those who need it to sustain their struggles. Give money to workers who are on strike. Contribute to the legal costs of people who are being targetted because they’re fighting for a better world. (There’s an important history of politically aware entertainers doing both these things - although of course the mass contributions of people with much less money have always been more important).

But the bigger question, the one I think you’re ultimately asking is how can I change the world? Your money (even if you’re comfortably middle class) is not the most important thing you can contribute. The most important thing you can do is join together with other people around you and collectively try and . Join a union if you’re an employee, get together with other renters if you’re a renting, fight to change a law that fucks you over. Widen your solidarity to people who are facing different struggles, but have similar enemies. We can have a better world - people have fought and won in the past and will in the future - and they’ve done it by working together.

Hey dude, is it okay if I post a review of one of your ficts on your tumblr? I don’t have an account on ff.net and I honestly don’t want to if there’s an option to reach you elsewhere anyway.. cause point is I’m not really into fandoms or ships or smut or fanart, this ain’t really my cup of tea, but I really like the idea of fanfiction. I guess what irks me in other fanforms is the lack of exploration of the source material? Lack of critical input? I’m not sure and honestly I don’t think too much about it, but I love storytelling above all and it’s great to know that there are places out there where people build communities based on free world building.. you know what I mean? And I won’t lie and say that such a wild and unkept environments bring out only the best out of people, because really, the world of fanfiction (at least as much as i had seen..which ain’t much) is fulled with folks that use is to serve their own fantasies rather than valuing cohersive writing or um..sometimes logic? And that can be so morbidly fascinating and at the same time.. off putting.. to me? I’m not writing this to be a dick and I’m really sorry if it comes over as such, I’m sorta struggling to explain why I’m even reading it if the first thing I’m stating is that I’m not into this stuff.. oh yeah, fuck it, back on track- It’s so fascinating with what kind of stuff people come up with, truly astonishing, things I wouldn’t have thought of in my life for better or worse and the thing that surprises me the most is when I open up a story as a joke, just because i thought the premise sounds so ridiculously it ought to be entertaining in some way- and am consequently blown away by how well it is written. A thing that only fanfiction can do to me- use my predjustices against me and punishes me with good fortune. I never thought reading about a fairly punching another fairy in the mouth would make me so happy but here I am, nooding approvingly out of shock (and some satisfaction too I’d say). It’s soooo impressive how much thought you put into this Dude! Fucking went and invented a language for them! Jesus Christ- I know so little professional writers that would do that..

So much detail, but not enough to be overwhelming, enough to keep the characters grounded. Enough development of the world to feel the realism creep onto the character with a steady persistent pacing, enough room the breathe and how much the humor contrasts it is wonderful and the fact that it derives so much out of the characters themselves makes them fell much more independent to me.

I’m not a native english speaker (so sorry for bad and confusing grammar) and recently moved to another country I barely speak the language of and certain things in the story hit home. I’m so so impressed by your research for it. Just take my word for it that you’re writing the dialogue (or the content of it?) really well and organically, not childish at all. Fact is, when you adapt to a new language you need to step a few steps back in order to be able to follow the path. You gotta hold yourself back so often it feels like you loosing on credibility and everyone sees you as a child of sort, and you know you can give much more, can show much more and just know much more that you are able to be but cant for the time being. And you wonder if you’ll ever come that far to be able to express what you want, and you start doubting yourself if you truly do know what you think you know or did your frustration get the best of you. It’s hard to explain, all the new and old information gets mixed together and it gets kind of hard to keep track of it you know? The things you were certain off, become or seem useless and the things that are new and incomprehensible become like a key of survival.. but you need more time, you need to wait.

Ramble, ramble, ramble. This was just meant to be a bit of encouragment, but of course I rambled into oblivion.Hope it’s not too awkard :) but I really enjoyed Glass and I’m gonna check for updates here and there, just don’t overwork yourself- It’s too sad to see when people get overrun by their own work especially if it is meant for enjoyment and relaxation.

There was literally nothing better in the world I could’ve woken up to today holy crap I am legitimately crying happy tears right now. Like I am all but speechless and trying desperately to figure out how to express how appreciative I am for this.

Glass is like, my ultimate pet project. I have others that I’ve been working on that I enjoy a little more, but when it comes down to it, nothing takes more of my effort than Glass’ worldbuilding, so getting any kind of advice or criticism or praise on certain elements really means the world to me. You have no idea how long I waited for someone to talk about the “child” talk. Literally no idea. I was literally BEGGING people to comment on it, to tell me if I’m way off course for how situations like that would play out. No one would help me at all despite the number of readers I have over two sites. You cannot imagine the relief I felt from your words here. I’ve been carrying that stress for months and it’s just nice to know it was carried for nothing more than my own anxieties. Considering I only took two years of a foreign language about ten years ago, I don’t really have a lot of memories on how it played out other than hating the course. (I have my sources who are a lil more practiced in the language field but lol I’m awful about asking for help)

But either way, thank you. Holy shit thank you SO much for this. Ngl I saw ‘submission from anonymous’ in my email and immediately groaned like “jfc it’s another goddamn spam link”. So my glee here is just expressed tenfold from the utter surprise of it all. Also can I say I loved you opened it as a joke. I jump back and forth between treating it like a joke for myself and being super cereal so I totally get coming at it from that angle.

The Queen Mary has once again dropped anchor in Dark Harbor, and… Wait a minute – have I used that line before? Well, you can hardly blame me for recycling old material when that is pretty much what Queen Mary Dark Harbor has been doing the past few years. Fortunately, the well-known tourist destination retains its allure, in some cases squeezing surprises the ship’s gloomy corridors.

Queen Mary Halloween 2019 Review: Overview

Halloween 2019 sees five returning mazes, with only one newcomer, along with value-added attractions (live performers, the PANIC 4D Experience short film) and numerous watering holes where squeamish land-lubbers can imbibe liquid courage to steel their nerves against the oceanic terrors haunting the famous floating hotel. The ship’s crew is once again on board: The Captain, Scary Mary, The Ring Master, Samuel the Savage, The Iron Master, Chef, The Voodoo Priestess, and Graceful Gale. The latter two no longer have mazes of their own, but they do lurk on the premises, along with numerous other free-roaming ghouls, turning the grounds around the Queen Mary into essentially one big scare zone. The overall vibe remains circus-like, with some characters lapsing into tongue-in-cheek banter when the opportunity presents itself. Fortunately, the presentations within the maze remain mostly serious, although a touch of funhouse-style levity is inherent in the nature of The Circus.

There are myriad snack food options to keep your blood sugar levels up while braving Dark Harbor’s frights. Many are overpriced, but some are worth the coin. Our favorite is Scary Mary’s Old Tyme Ice Scream, for three reasons:

They serve delicious cold Ice cream, which is very refreshing after emerging from Queen Mary’s corridors, which can be stuffy even during cold weather.

Scary Mary’s Old Tyme Ice Screams serves Nitro, a wonderful cold-brew coffee that will jolt you back to consciousness after carousing your way the the many bars.

Queen Mary Halloween 2019 Review: Rogue (New)

From the outside, Rogue looks suspiciously like DeadRise, but what lies inside?

Rogue, the new maze, is the highlight of the Queen Mary’s 2019 Halloween celebration. At first, it looks like a mere rebranding of the old DeadRise walk-through, using the same exterior to simulate the prow of a ship on the pavement beside the real ship docked nearby. However, Rogue is an clear improvement in several ways.

First, the premise lends an urgency to the maze that was lacking in DeadRise, which was about a ghost ship resurfacing but which did little with the idea except place ghoulish sailors in its corridors. Rogue plays like a prequel, with the vessel in the process of sinking, its frantic crew running in panic and urging passengers to abandon ship. This adds a level of excitement to the usual scares.

Second, Rogue far more convincingly simulate the interior of a ship. A dome has been built overhead to shut out surrounding light and sound, which undermined DeadRise. In addition, whereas DeadRise usually had you walking on the parking lot pavement, Rogue has its own floors, some canted at angles so that you feel as if you are really stumbling on the deck of a floundering vessel.

The best set piece is the bridge, where the captain desperately wrestles with the steering wheel, vainly attempting to avoid swelling waves (glimpsed through the windows) that threaten to capsize the ship. You almost want to volunteer to help him, but his crew insist that you keep moving and save yourself.

Despite the similarity to its predecessor, Rogue qualifies as a new experience, and it gets bonus points for actually exploiting the briny depths as part of its theme – something which, strangely, most of the Queen Mary’s Halloween mazes fail to do. If you’re not a fan of Dark Harbor, this may not be enough to change your mind; for fans, however, this is a must-see.

Queen Mary Halloween 2019 Review: Returning Mazes

Dark Harbor’s five returning mazes are Intrepid and the Circus (on land) and Lullaby, B350, and Feast (on board). All of them recreate elements seen during Halloween 2018, with some variations and streamlining. Over the course of the past few years, for example, the opening scenes that established the back stories of Dark Harbor’s characters have been retired one by one until none remain. In exchange, settings have been changed and pathways through the ship have been altered.

In the case of Feast, the walk-through extends deeper into the bowels of the Queen Mary, leading to a “hidden bar” on a wide platform atop a double staircase near the end. It’s a nice surprise, but coming at the very end, it’s not exactly a thrilling climax to a maze that (despite its generic cannibalism theme) does perhaps the best job of exploiting the ship’s iron corridors to unnerving effect.

In other cases, such as The Circus, the maze is essentially the same. Intrepid once again has little to do with its nominal theme (a foundry where the iron for the Queen Mary was forced), instead spending most of its time in the haunted hallways of Fisherman’s Village – always one of the best locations for a Halloween maze.

B340 feels slightly different, having apparently rehired the nuns absent from last Halloween, whose presence ties in with the back story blaming the homicidal actions of Samuel the Savage on Satanic influences (something no longer spelled out by a voice-over narration, though clear enough from the crosses spinning upside down on the walls).

Most changed this Halloween is Lullaby, long our favorite Queen Mary Halloween maze. Unfortunately, the revised version suffers from relative absence of its signature character, Scary Mary, who doesn’t appear until halfway through. Instead, almost immediately after entering, you find yourself stumbling into one of Dark Harbor’s hidden bars, after which the corridors are haunted by other characters explaining that they are summoning one of the ship’s most dangerous spirits.

When Scary Mary responds to the summons, her appearances consist mostly of sudden jump-scares, reducing her to the level of a malevolent jack-in-the-box. In the past, the strength of Lullaby resided in Scary Mary’s eerie interactions with visitors, alternately plaintive and threatening – her temper switching at a mercurial rate that kept you off-guard. Giving Scary Mary a chance to display personality kept her from becoming repetitious; in fact, it enhanced the mazes’s creep factor by giving the impression that, no matter how quickly you left her behind, the ghostly little girl would always materialize ahead of you in the next room.

Sadly, this element is seriously diminished this year, and Lullaby is a lesser experience because of it.

Queen Mary Halloween 2019 Review: Watering Holes

Following the course established over the past decade, the Queen Mary voyages farther in the direction of becoming a destination event, where people remain after the mazes to watch trapeze artists and fire jugglers from private cabanas or one of the many bars situated throughout the grounds, with names such as The Last Drop and The Gallows.

Most of these serve traditional well drinks, but in the barrel room you can enjoy a whiskey flight, consisting of three half-ounce servings of your choice, poured out by bar maids with skeletal visages.

We sampled Bourbon Angel’s Envy, Old Smokey Apple Pie Moonshine, and Old Smokey Mango Habanero. The first is a standar whiskey with a smooth, velvet texture. Apple Pie Moonshine tastes exactly as the name suggests; in fact, we imagine we could have guessed the flavor blind-folded.

The real treat of the trio was the Mango Habanero. The initial syrupy sweetness of the mango flavor temporarily disguised the zing of the habanero, which revealed itself with a surprisingly potent burn from tongue to gullet. The contrast was remarkable if nothing else – definitely worth checking out for those with strong stomachs.

Queen Mary Halloween 2019 Review: Conclusion

This Halloween, the Queen Mary holds to the same heading charted last year, adding one new maze, revising the returning mazes, and emphasizing opportunities to hang out and relax with a drink. The event remains enjoyable, and it has a big advantage over comparable Halloween theme parks: by squeezing so much into a very small space, it creates a very favorable ratio of distance walked to mazes and distance walked within mazes; visitors exhausted by dragging themselves up and down Six Flags Magic Mountain Fright Fest can easily saunter through Dark Harbor, enjoying all the attractions without breaking a sweat.

However, the Queen Mary’s Halloween cruise could benefit from a course correction to explore new waters, preferably haunted by strange sea creatures and other aquatic terrors. For an event named “Dark Harbor,” there is little directly connected to the ocean. The Ring Master, The Iron Master, Chef, and Samuel the Savage could easily fit into any other haunted attraction. Scary Mary and Graceful Gale used to have back stories that tied them directly to the Queen Mary, but those have been virtually forgotten. Only Rogue delivers a raging storm’s worth maritime horror unlike anything at any other Halloween event. The Queen Mary should develop new mazes that emphasize this aspect in order to truly set itself apart from the competition.

Full rejuvination is really handy because it restores health (and mana) instantly instead of a bit at a time so if ya didn’t know . 3 mana + 3 healing + = 1 rejuvination 3 rejuvination is 1 full rej. But even better is: 3 mana + 3 healing + 1 gem = full rejuvination!!!

Full Health (druid Only)

To get full health with a druid just morph into bear or wolf form and when you morph back you will have full hp. You can morph back yourself though you have to wait until it changes you back.

Get A Hellfire Torch

How to get your own torch: First, you must get 3 sets of keys. You get thesekeys, (called terror key, hell key, and destructionkey), from 3 certain mini-bosses in hell mode. These keys randomly drop off of The countess inact1, The Summoner in act2, and Nihlathak in act5. Once you have killed these 3 mini-bosses enoughtimes to receive 3 sets of keys, (that means 3tkeys, 3 hkeys, and 3 dkeys. ), you ready for thenext step: Now you must travel to act 5 of hellmode and transmute the keys. Put one set of keysin the Horadric cube and hit transmute. A redportal will appear (much like the cow level), thered portal will either say “The Matron Den”, “TheHell Furnace”, or “The Forgotten Sands”. You musttravel through this red portal to get to the uberboss within each portal. In “The Hell Furnace”, you will face off against Uber Izual. In “Theforgotten sands” you will face off against UberDurial, and in “The Matron Den” you will face offagainst Lilith (who looks much like andariel). Now I suggest that you open all 3 portals in thesame game, in different places in Harrogath, because which portals open is completely random, but if you already have 1 portal open, thatguarantees that one of the remaining to 2 portalswill open with the next transmute. Now when you kill these 3 uber bosses from the Redportal levels, each boss will drop one “Organ”. The organs are: Diablo’s horn, Mephisto’s brain, and Baal’s eye. The 3 organs equal “An organ set”. Now exit the game, and make a new game in hell mode. Put all 3 organs in the Horadric cube and hittransmute. Another red portal will open, but thisone will be called “Tristam”, or “Uber Tristam”. You are about to face the hardest encounter in thegame, so get ready. Once you travel through theportal, you will meet hordes upon hordes ofskeletons, many of which are completely magicimmune. Forget the Skeletons. Your Focus should beone the 3 bosses in Tristam: Uber Mephisto, Uberdiablo, and Uber Baal. Lure each boss in a corner of Tristam and squareoff with them. Once 2 bosses are defeated, there will be oneleft. After you defeat the third boss, it willdrop a Large Charm (who’s text will be in gold). Identify this charm to receive a Hellfire Torch. The torch will give +3 to a random classes skills, +10-+20 to all attributes, +10-+20 to allresistances, and 10 charges of a level 30 firehydra. If the “Torch” is not for the class youneed it for, you’re only choice will to be totrade that torch for another torch for the classyou need. NOTE:You can only have 1 “Torch” at a time. To figure out a torches “worth” add the numberthat it gives to attributes to the number that itgives to resistances, then divide by 2. EX: A torch gives 18 to attributes, and 16 to allresists, add 18 to 16 to get 34, then divide by 2to get 17. If that number that you calculate is between 10and 14, that torch is considered a “low torch” andis not worth much. If the number you calculate isbetween 15-17, it is a “mid torch” and it hasdecent worth. If the calculated number is between18-19, it is considered a “Hi torch” and has greatvalue. If the calculated number is 20, the torchis considered a “Perfect torch” or a “Ptorch” andhas extremely high value.

Torches And How To Get Them

A Torch is a item that you put in your inventory, and it gives you 3 skills up for what-ever your class is. And how to get them is the hard part, heres the first compromise, Trade people for them, but you need really good stuff to trade them for. And the second compromise is you need to get the Lord of Destruction Key, the Terror Key, and the Hatred Key, and you put them in your cube and then it forms a portal, and then you have to fight bosses. I dont know what the bosses are because i never did it before but my friend on Battle. Net told me. And so after yo beat the bosses a torch will fall out, a hell fire torch and then you put it in your inventory and then what your class is, is what 3 skills are going up! So its a really good chance. But the problem is you cant get it again. And you cant get TWO TORCHES FOR THE SAME CLASS!! And if you quit out of the game you will never get the opportunity to make another one again! So you better do it in that game and do not quit it! GOOD LUCK!

More Quick Spell Selection Keys

Ya know that you can only do 8 quick spell select keys. And to select them from F1-F8, right. To get more, press Esc, and go into options, then go the control settings. As you scroll down, you’ll see the selected keys for the spells you would want to get to quickly. As you scroll down more, you start to see that you can pick up to 16 different spells to select. So, since the F_ keys only go up to F12, I only did up to 12 spells to select. If you want to choose different keys to do up to 16 spells, go ahead.

Druids

If you start using a druid invest your skill points summoning and morphing skills. Do not invest too many skill points in elemental skills because in Hell difficulty almost everyone has immunities to elemental attacks and spells. Once your able to use bear invest all the skill points that you can in it (which is twenty) because once their level twenty they can do over one-thousand damage and he will be the best attruibute that you can have in Nightmare and Hell.

Socketing In Items

To put a socket in an item that can be socketed, you put three gems of the same type in the horodric cube and an item that can be socketed. Once there all in, transmute it, then you should have the item in there socketed. You could also repeat this process over and over till it is at its max. You can also do this with items that are already socketed, or/and that is a magical item, like a Unique, but not sure with Set items.Ex:3 chipped gems+1 plate mail=1 socketed plate mail.

XP Increase

Whenever you really really need XP do the following. Go to an act that are good at and type “players 8”, it will increase the XP gained from monsters while increasing the strenght of the monster.

Easy Full Rejuvination Potion

To get a full rejuvination potion all you need is 3 normal rejuvination potions, transmute them and you will have a full rejuvination potion. To get a normal rejuvination potion you can find one or get 3 mana potions of any size and 3 health potions of any size,transmute them and you will get 1 normal rejuvination potion. Repeat as many times as you want and you will get the same effect.

Experience Bonus

When playing with version 1.09 hit enter then type “Players 6”. That makes the computer think that there is six players and not just one. That makes the characters harder and more experience and more money.

Good Imbuing

One way to get a good imbued sword or anything else is to finish Act 1 and then god to Act 2 without imbuing anything, next go to Fara talk to her then buy a falchion or whatever the thing you think is good to imbue, then go to the waypoint in Lut Gohlein and click Act 2, then go to Rouge Encampment to go back to act 1(or you can go to Warriv to go back west) then go imbue the item u want to imbue. NOTE:Remember that it has to be a regular item, not socketed or magical or anything.

Dueling Hint For Barb

While dueling with a barb, use yells as normal. Go back and talk to akara. Next go out to the dueling spot. Instead of bezerk, the move u should be using to kill most enemys, use whirlwind,it is way easier to hit someone with.now wait for someone to come to u unless ure dueling a foh pali or a zon. On those types you have to be aggressive and charge at them. Put items that give you speed when facing them. When whirlwinding, dont click on them but close to them. If u click on them you will keep whirlwinding them untill you run out of mana.Try to hit your enemy with the tip of your wepon because thats where it does the most damage.Barbs are hard to duel with at first because they have no long range attacks but in my opinion they are the best duelers in the hands of experts.

Dueling Hint For Assassin

When dueling with an assassin, go out of town and hit an enemy 3 times with tiger strike charge-up, then go back to the dueling spot and with dragon wing, (the teleport kick) attack someone. This should do much more damage then a regular dragon wing kick.

Sound Chaos

During the game, multiplayer or single, press enter and type soundchaosdebug. You will hear many voices of characters in the game. Type soundchaosdebug again to turn it off.

Frozen Death

If you are just starting out as a sorc, the you can use this. It only works with the sorceress. When you level up a few times, go to new skill. Go to ice magick, and there will be a shield with a glimmer. Click that and you have ice shield. This manked anything that hits you turn to ice. When you hit it back, it shatters and melts. You must reuse it every once in a while, because it wears off after about 4 minutes. You can use any other spell while this is activated, too. Best in mob battles.

Antidote Potion Recipe

Put a strangling gas potion and a healing potion in the horadric cube. Transmute them to get an antidote potion.

Arrow/Bolt Formula

This horadric cube formula is only really useful if you are travelling with a bow or crossbow, and run out of arrows/bolts and you don’t feel like town portaling back to town. 2 quivers of arrows make 1 quiver of bolts. 2 quivers of bolts then equal one quiver of arrows.

3 Gems Of Same Type

Put 3 gems of same type and level of perfection (chipped, flawed, etc) into the horadric cube. Hit transmute and you get a gem of the next level of perfection. Example 3 chipped make 1 flawed.

3 Amulet Ring Formula

In the horadric cube put 3 amulets in. Transmute for 1 ring. This is good if you have 3 bad ones and you don’t need the money. The inverse works too. I mean 3 rings equals one amulet. There is a potential for good amulets/rings. The best I’ve gotten was a plus 1 to all skill levels and 4 percent life steal.

Cloak Em’ And Smoke Em’

This is a useful trick with the assasin. When you run into a large group of monsters use cloak of shadows. Then lay as many traps as you can right in the midst of the monsters. Before the cloak of shadow runs out most of the monsters will be dead.Note: This is much better if you of a shadow warrior. The shadow warrior will launch/hrow her own traps too. This will not work with the shadow master because masters can use any skill. The master will probably just run up and start hitting the monsters instead of doing traps.

Assassin Lock Open

If you are an assasin you don’t need keys to open locked chests. Just click on the locked chest and it will be open. Some people who don’t read the manual don’t know this.

Act V Mountain Quest

In act V on the quest fighting the barbarian ancients on Arriat Summit you can’t leave without the ancients resetting. In nightmare or hell mode they gain ablities. You can use the reset to your advantage. If they have an ability you don’t like to fight against use a town portal. When you come back you can start the battle over and they’ll have different abilities.

Imbue Redo

To make sure you get a good imbue take your save file and copy it to another place( folder, disk, cd, etc.) Then have charsi imbue whatever you want. If you don’t like the results delete the save in the diablo2 folder and put the other one in. The repeat until you like the item you get.

Early Sockected Hint/cheat

Early in the game find a good socketed weopen with 2 or more sockets. If you put a rune or jewel that does poison damage and a emarald or just 2 emarlads or 2 runes,etc. the poison dameage will increase dramatically. For example 2 chipped emaralds which do 6 poison damage each together do 23 poison damage. This allows you in the first act and early in the second act to kill most normal monsters with great ease

Weird Prismatic Amulet

Put a perfect gem of every type except skull(in some patched versions you need the skull) in the horadric cube. Hit transmute. You will get an amulet with all resists set to random amounts. Ex.

Fire rst 18Cold rst 12Light rst 9Poison rst 4

You will also get a random affect like life steal, extra stats, abilities, etc.

Horadric Socketing Recipe

Put 3 perfect skulls, a Stone of Jordan (a unique ring), and a rare item and the rare item will have one socket after the transmuting.

Horadric Cube Rune Formulas

If you put in 3 runes of the same kind you will get 1 new type of rune. EXP. 3 EL runes+horadric cube= 1 ELD rune, 3 TIR runes+horadric cube+1 TAL rune.

Perfect Xp Offline

Type /players 8 in any version past 1. 09a and it will be like an online game with max players. The monsters will be harder but in turn you get a lot more experience.

Colors In Profile

To put colors in your profile, minimize the game (ALT+TAB) and open up Notepad. Hold ALT and press 00255 on num pad. You should get a y with 2 dots. Copy it and open up profile. Hold control and press v to paste it. Then press c and they should disappear. Press 1-0 (not on num pad). And to get purple, press ;

Dueling Strategy For Sorc

When dueling as a hydra sorc in blood moor, go into one of those small houses. Fill the house with hydras. When an enemy comes in, teleport out for the house so your enemy can meet their toasty demise.note: this doesnt work well when dueling zons.
