10th house ruler in the houses
Ideal career <3
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media
I have made a post about the 10th house if you wish to know more about it.
1st house: modeling, content creation (focused on YOU, your opinions, your reviews, your personality), leadership/innovative jobs, anything that makes you shine
2nd house: becoming a chef, taking on lucrative projects, huge focus on accumulating material wealth, staying authentic and true to your values and making sure it doesn't fuck w ur emotional stability and stuff- no sacrifices
3rd house: consider working in a family-run business, utilizing writing talent, maybe something debate related, teaching elementary school/little kids, something mind stimulating
4th house: stay at home mom/dad or working from home, babysitting, having a more obscure job and being private about job matters, having a job that allows you to be family oriented as well, providing for your fam being a motivation of urs
5th house: art, creativity, modeling/makeup artist, hair stylist, social media manager, going with the flow, innovation, laid back/light hearted when it comes to duty, being quite lucky in the career side of things
6th house: administrative work, athletic field, diet expert or nutritionist, doctor, being quite involved in your work matters on the daily and taking it seriously, work relationships (coworkers, subordinates, superiors) being relevant for better or for worse
7th house: tbh I'm drawing a blank on this one 😭 I'd look at the sign of the 10th house buuuuttttt anything/anywhere that you feel comfortable as/in for a while should be good. This also indicates maybe meeting someone special at work? 👀 or working together with/creating a business with your long term partner. Also be aware of how ur relationship with ur business partners goes cuz it's important especially deals involving contracts
8th house: accounting, investment, stocks, real estate, finance jobs basically anything that involves other people's money and also maybe inspector jobs, detective work esp homicide involved (ace attorney vibes lol), performing autopsies etc u get the idea and we could also add occult related jobs as well
9th house: spiritual work, teaching individuals esoteric matters, astrologer, tarot, palmistry readings, jobs that allow you or even encourage you to be like a forever student and stuff
10th house: traditional jobs, CEO, career success is important to you and you tend to prioritize it regardless of whatever else is going on in ur life, any jobs that requires a high level of achievement and handling pressure with grace
11th house: social media related, working within a group, collaborative effort, compromise, maybe prioritizing other endeavors centered around making an impact such as activism, vouching for the oppressed and volunteering
12th house: therapist, readings, helping people work through their issues and do shadow work, alchemy work aka turning pain into power, also helping individuals achieve balance in the mental as well as spiritual plane (feminine and masculine energy for example) etc
Tumblr media
Of course this is very general!! You need to look at loaaaads of other stuff but yeah comment down below your 10th house placements
Thank you for reading <3

Language Apps Suck, Now What?: A Guide to Actually Becoming "Fluent"
The much requested sequel to my DL post that was promised almost a year ago.
I'm going to address all of the techniques that have helped me in my language learning journeys. Since 95% of these came from the fact that in a past language learning mistake, they are titled as my mistakes (and how I would/did things differently going forward). For those that read to the bottom there is a "best universal resources" list.
Disclaimers:
"Fluency" is hard to define and everyone has their own goals. So for the purpose of this post, "fluency" will be defined as "your personal mastery target of the language".
If you just want to pick up a bit of a language to not sound like a total foreigner on vacation or just exchange a few words in a friend's native language, feel free to ignore what doesn't apply, but maybe something here could help make it a little easier.
This is based on my own personal experience and (some) research.
Mistake 1: Asymmetrical Studying
Assuming you don't just want to do a single activity in a language, or are learning a language like ASL, a language requires 4 parts to be studied: Speaking, Listening, Writing, Reading. While these have overlap, you can't learn speaking from reading, or even learn speaking from just listening. One of my first Chinese teachers told me how he would listen to the textbook dialogues while he was biking to classes and it helped him. I took this information, thought "Yeah that's an idea, but sounds boring" and now regret not taking his advice nearly every day.
I think a lot of us find methods we enjoy to study (mine was reading) and assume that if we just do that method more ™ it will eventually help us in other areas (sometimes it does, but that's only sometimes). Find a method that works for you for each area of study, even better find more than one method since we use these skills in a variety of manners! I can understand a TV program pretty well since I have a lot of context clues and body language to fill in any gaps of understanding, but taking a phone call is much harder—the audio is rougher, there's no body language to read, and since most Chinese programs have hard coded subtitles, no subtitles to fall back on either. If I were to compare the number of hours I spent reading in Chinese to (actively) training my listening? Probably a ratio of 100 to 1. When I started to learn Korean, the first thing I did was find a variety of listening resources for my level.
Fix: Find a variety of study methods that challenge all aspects of the language in different ways.
A variety of methods will help you develop a more well-rounded level of mastery, and probably help you keep from getting bored. Which is important because...
Mistake 2: Inconsistent Studying
If there is one positive to a language app, it is the pressure it puts on keeping a streak. Making studying a part of your everyday routine is the best thing you can do. I benefited a lot from taking a college language course since I had a dedicated time to study and practice Chinese 5 days out of the week (and homework usually filled the other two). Memorization is a huge part of language learning, and stopping and starting is terrible for memorization. When I was in elementary school, we had Spanish maybe a couple times a month. Looking back, it seems like it was the first class to be cut if we needed to catch up on a more important course. Needless to say, I can't even speak Spanish at an elementary level.
However, I'm sure many people reading this don't have the time to do ultra-immersion 4-hour study sessions every day either. Find what days during the week you have time to focus on learning new vocab and grammar, and use the rest of the week to review. This can be done on your commute to school/work, while you do the dishes, or as a part of your morning/evening routine. Making this as realistic as possible will help you actually succeed in making this a habit. (Check this out for how to set realistic study goals)
Fix: Study regularly (ideally daily) by setting realistic goals. Avoid "binge" studying since remembering requires consistent repetition to be most effective.
Mistake 3: Resource Choice
This is really composed of two mistakes, but I have a good example that will cover them both.
First, finding resources that are at or slightly above your level is the most important thing. Easy resources will not challenge you enough and difficult resources will overwhelm you. The ideal is n+1, with n as what you know plus 1 new thing.
Second, getting distracted by fancy, new technology. Newer isn't always better, and there are often advantages that are lost when we've made technological developments. I often found myself wanting to try out new browser extensions or organizational methods and honestly I would've benefitted from just using that time to study. (Also, you're probably reading this because of my DL post so I don't think it has to be said that AI resources suck.)
A good example of this was my time using Clozemaster. I had actually recommended it when I first started using it since I thought the foundation was really solid. However, after long term use, I found that it just wasn't a good fit. The sentences were often too simple or too long and strange for memorization at higher levels or were too difficult at lower levels. I think that taking my textbook's example sentences from dialogues into something like Anki would've been a far better use of my time (and money) as they were already designed to be at that n+1 level.
Fix: "Vet" your resources—make sure they will actually help you. If something is working for you, then keep using it! You don't always have to upgrade to the newest tool/method.
Mistake 3.5: Classrooms and Textbooks
A .5 since it's not my mistake, but an addendum of caution. I think there is a significant part of the language learning community that views textbooks and classroom learning as the worst possible resource. They are "boring", "outdated", and "ineffective" (ironically one of the most interesting modern language learning methods, ALG, is only done in a classroom setting). Classrooms and textbooks bring back memories of being surrounded by mostly uninterested classmates, minimal priority, and a focus on grades rather than personal achievement (imagine the difference between a class of middle schoolers who were forced to choose a foreign language vs. adult learners who self-selected!) People have used these exact methods, or even "cruder" methods, to successfully learn a language. It all comes down to what works best for you. I specifically recommend textbooks for learning grammar and the plentiful number of dialogues and written passages that can function great as graded readers and listening resources. (Also the distinction made between "a youtube lesson on a grammatical principle" which is totally cool, and "a passage in a grammar textbook" is more one of tone and audio/written than efficacy).
Classrooms can be really great for speaking practice since they can be a lot less intimidating speaking to someone who is also learning while receiving corrections. Speech can be awkward to train on your own (not impossible if you're good at just talking aloud to yourself!), and classrooms can work nicely for this. Homework and class schedules also have built in accountability!
Fix: Explore resources available to you and try to think holistically about your approach. CI+Traditional Methods is my go to "Learning Cocktail"
Mistake 4: Yes, Immersion, But...
I realized this relatively quickly while learning Chinese, but immersion at a level much higher than your current level will do very little for you. What is sometimes left out of those "Just watch anime to learn Japanese" discussions is that you first need to have a chance at understanding what is being said. Choosing materials that are much higher than your level will not teach you the language. It doesn't matter how many times someone at HSK 1 hears “他是甘露之惠,我并无此水可还”, they will not get very far. Actual deduction and learning comes from having enough familiar components to be able to make deductions—something different than guessing. An HSK 1 learner, never having heard the word 老虎 will be able to understand "tiger" if someone says “这是我的老虎” while standing next to a tiger. This is not to say you can never try something more difficult—things should be challenging—but if you can't make heads or tails of what's being said, then it's time to find something a bit easier. If mistake 2 is about the type of method, this is about the level. If you wouldn't give a kindergartener The Great Gatsby to learn how to read, why would you watch Full Metal Alchemist to start learning a language?
Side note: Interesting video here on the Comprehensible Input hypothesis and how it relates to neurodivergence.
Fix: Immerse yourself in appropriate content for your level. It's called comprehensible input for a reason.
Mistake 5: On Translation
I work as a translator, so do you really think I'm going to say translation is all bad? Of course not. It's a separate skill that can be added on to the basic skills, but is really only required if you are A. someone who is an intermediary between two languages (say you have to translate for a spouse or family member) or B. It is your job/hobby. In the context of sitting down and learning, it can be harmful. I think my brain often goes to translation too often because that's how I used to learn. Trying to unlearn that is difficult because, well, what do people even mean when they say "don't translate"? They mean when someone says "thank you", you should not go to your primary language and translate "you're welcome" from that. You should train yourself to go to your target language first when you hear the word for "thank you". A very literally translated "thank you" in Chinese "谢谢你" can come off as cold and sarcastic. I don't tell my friends that, I say "谢啦~". Direct translation can take away the difference in culture, grammar, and politeness in a language. If there is a reason you sound awkward while writing and speaking, it's probably because you're imposing your primary language on your target language.
Fix: Try as hard as you can to not work from your primary language into the target language, but to work from the structures, set phrases, and grammar within the target language that you know first.
Mistake 6: The Secret Language Learners Don't Want You To Know...
...is that there is no one easy method. You are not going to learn French while you sleep, or master Korean by doing this one easy trick. Learning a language requires work and dedication, the people that succeed are those that push through the boredom of repetition and failure. The "I learned X in 1 year/month/week/day!" crowd is hiding large asterisks, be it their actual level, the assistance and free time available to them, "well actually I had already studied this for 4 years", or just straight-up lying. Our own journeys in our native tongue were not easy, they required years and years of constant immersion and instruction. While we are now older and wiser people that can make quick connections, we are also burdened with things like "jobs", "house work", "school work", and the digital black hole that is "social media" that take up our time and energy. Everything above is to help make this journey a little bit easier, quicker, and painless, but it will never be magic.
I find that language learning has a lot in common with the fitness community. People will talk about the workout that changed their life and how no other one will do the same—and it really can be the truth that it changed their life and that they feel it is the ultimate way. The real workout that will change your life is the one you're most consistent with, that you enjoy the most. Language learning is just trying to find the brain exercise that you can be the most consistent with.
Fix: Save your energy looking for shortcuts, and do the work, fail, and come back for more. If someone tells you that you can become fluent in a ridiculously short amount of time, they are selling you a fantasy (and likely a product). You get out what you put in.
For those that made it to the end, here are some of my "universal resources":
Refold Method: I don't agree with their actual method 100%, but they've collected a lot of great resources for learning languages. I've found their Chinese and Korean discords to also be really helpful and provided even more resources than what's given in their starter guides.
Language Reactor: Very useful, and have recently added podcasts as a material! The free version is honestly all you need.
Anki: If I do not mention it, the people with 4+ year streaks with a 5K word deck will not let me forget it. It can be used on desktop or on your phone as an app. If you need a replacement for a language learning app, this is one of them. Justin Sung has a lot of great info on how to best utilize Anki (as does Refold). It's not my favorite, but it could be yours!
LingQ: "But I thought you said language apps are bad!" In isolation, yes. Sorry for the clickbait. This one is pretty good, and more interested in immersing you in the language than selling a subscription to allow you to freeze your streak so the number goes up.
Grammar Textbooks: For self-taught learning, these are going to be the best resource since it's focused on the hardest part of the language, and only that. If you're tired of seeing group work activities, look for a textbook that is just on grammar (Modern Mandarin Chinese Grammar is my rec for Chinese, and A Guide to Japanese Grammar by Tae Kim is the most common/enthusiastic rec I've heard for Japanese).
Shadowing: Simply repeat what you hear. Matt vs Japan talks about his setup here for optimized shadowing (which you can probably build for a lot cheaper now), but it can also just be you watching a video and pausing to repeat after each sentence or near simultaneously if you're able.
Youtube: Be it "Short Story for Beginners", "How to use X", "250 Essential Phrases", or a GRWM in your target language, Youtube is the best. Sometimes you have to dig to find what works for you, but I imagine there is something for everyone at every level. (Pro tip: People upload textbook audio dialogues often, you don't even have to buy the textbook to be able to learn from it!)
A Friend: Be it a fellow learner, or someone who has already mastered the language, it is easier when you have someone, not only to speak to, but to remind you why you're doing this. I write far more in Chinese because I have friends I can text in Chinese.
Pen and Paper: Study after study, writing on paper continues to be the best method for memorization. Typing or using a pen and tablet still can't compare to traditional methods.
The Replies (Probably): Lots of people were happy to give alternatives for specific languages in the replies of my DL post. The community here is pretty active, so if this post blows up at least 20% of what the last one did, you might be able to find some great stuff in the replies and reblogs.
I wish you all the best~

got tagged by @komplikacije in a question game, thank youu 💜
had fun and wrote a lot so i will shorten the post hahah
do you make your bed: absolutely not and people who do.... something wrong with them, also kinda unsanitary, you should let your sheets get some air and sun to disinfect
what’s your favorite number: 8 i don’t remember all reasons but through my life it just feels like the number was always following me in some way and the main trigger was when i was 8th on an entrance exam for college and i was soooo happy because i really wanted to study architecture and it was the only college that i put on my list (kinda stupid decision now that i look back lol) but it felt like everything just clicked
current job: none
if you could go back to school, would you: i would in a sense that now that i’m older i value knowledge a lot more and i can actually understand the importance of some things that we learned in school, not that i didn’t back then, i was always a great student, but now im able to understand it on a deeper level and connect with other things i know but i don’t really have the time and energy to go through it again.. but i wouldn’t like to go back in a sense of that period of time in my life and the people in school and stuff like that
can you parallel park: i can’t drive, and i don’t think i’ll be good at it either
a job you had that would surprise people: never worked a day in my life… i did some dance gigs at festivals and promotions and those type of events but the money would not go to us but our dance studio. and when i was i child i was always trying to sell shells to tourists and one time my drawings…
do you think aliens are real: could be idk, i don’t really see the point in thinking too much about things that i don’t know a lot about or that we just can’t find out so it never makes sense to me when people who also don’t have some knowledge on space and biology, in this case, have an opinion on it. like it’s cool if you’re trying to understand something and come to the conclusion but i feel like today too many people have opinion on everything and know nothing
can you drive a manual car: no
guilty pleasure: things that i feel guilty about are not pleasurable and things that i find pleasurable i don’t feel guilty about

favorite colour: purple, green and blue
favorite music genre: i guess like indie/rock/punk/rnb/jazz/reggae, not too much of anything hahah but i listen to pretty much everything
do you like puzzles: i don’t remember when was a last time i did one but i do like them
phobias: i don’t have some specific fear but lately i’ve been a bit paranoid that i will pass out when i’m in my room alone and no one will know and be able to help
favorite childhood sport: i never was a sports person but i did go to rhythmic gymnastics as a kid and then in elementary school i started jazz dance and been doing it until last two years, idk if dance counts hahah but yeah i’ve always been physically active
do you talk to yourself: i don’t really think of it as talking to myself hahah more like sometimes my thoughts just come through my mouth when i’m alone or like i will have an inner monolouge sometimes but that’s not talking to myself? i guess idk hahah it’s not like my brain is silent if i’m alone
favorite movies: i don’t really have favourite movies, i do watch movies like dirty dancing, grease, pretty in pink, the breakfast club when i need something comforting because it’s something i watched a lot when i was younger
coffee or tea: i like both but maybe tea since coffee tends to make me nervous
first thing you wanted to be when you grew up: pfff i think a painter or a teacher ohh i just remembered hahahah actually i wanted to be “an adventurer” lmao like some type of explorer that has to do with nature and history and wears that khaki shirt and cargos outfit with boots and a hat
i tag: @midnightpulses @kontra-svijeta @valovita @nismo-na-filmu-zaboga @blu27nature if they want to do it :))

about your aventurine rant- i don’t think agreeing w/ ratio’s assessment is the best stance to go with. ratio admits himself to his personal bias and he’s shown to be a jackass to people he thinks are stupid. even if he wants to spread education, he’s still mean and rude to people who are ‘less educated’ than himself, and saying aventurine is stupid despite knowing he had no education as a kid is kind of…? and agreeing with the (again, opinionated and biased and ignorant!!!!) statements from sparkle and ratio isn’t the best. aventurine isn’t stupid, gambling requires a level of logic and maths that isn’t elementary, and if he was stupid he sure as hell wouldn’t be one of the stonehearts. we also aren’t sure WHAT ratio’s motives are or how ‘allied’ he is with aventurine. from what little we know they can literally just be allied for one small thing, ratio isn’t against the idea of working for his own goals and we don’t know if ratio would betray aventurine. caution for a gambler isn’t a dumb move.
Before I get into this, I will actually admit that I didn't provide as much evidence as I should have in the first blog for what I knew was a controversial take. Let me correct that.
Let's start first just with your supposition that Ratio isn't an ally of Aventurine's: They are LITERALLY working together. They are LITERALLY both a part of the IPC (the Intelligentsia Guild is a branch of the IPC). Ratio only tries to leave so as to tell their BOSSES that the person assigned to lead this fucked up at step one because he managed to lose all of their leverage. They are LITERALLY working together but here's the thing:
Ratio just wants to know that this gambler has a plan that has a chance to succeed. He would have worked with him if Aventurine had even TRIED to give him one.
Now I won't say the scene is perfect. As far as I'm concerned, Ratio seems to flip flop a bit character wise because he's willing to actively try to hurt Aventurine when later apologizing that he didn't mean to offend. The latter is much more in character for Ratio, who does judge people on merit, even if harshly. Also, the line where he calls Aventurine a Sigonian thrall is just... Not good because it's entirely without reason to be brought up. It's not an answer to Aventurine's question, it's just to point out that he was a slave. It's really bad exposition which a LOT of the stuff about him Sigonian feels like. Not character work, just exposition. This becomes even more true as not true to Ratio's character because Ratio actually does give Aventurine a lot of time despite Aventurine still not being willing to tell him his plan. If it were just that Ratio was racist and biased, he would have left when he said he would and not listened to another word out of Aventurine's mouth. He would have been looking for any reason to drop this Sigonian Thrall like a hot rock. Instead, he sticks around despite the fact that the second Aventurine walks in, the onus of trust is on HIM right now. Aventurine has already fucked up in a slight way by being late and wasting his colleagues time, but also in a major way by losing his gifts and the cornerstones and so now he needs to give Ratio a reason to believe that Aventurine can do this. To trust him as the lead on this job.
But he doesn't. Instead, after trying to point the question back at Ratio, he plays his parents being dead for pity, a manipulation to get Ratio to drop the trust thing because otherwise he has no reason to bring it up. Even in the next line, he admits that his parents DID teach him life lessons. So Ratio should trust him because his parents are dead and because this grown ass man, who has had to theoretically work with a LOT of people, doesn't understand the foundation of literally any partnership. Not because, I dunno... Anything else? Anything tangible? Like Ratio hasn't, besides the out of character racism (again, the man does judge people by their merits and someone who supposedly is against ignorance should not lean into something almost always built on ignorance), given Aventurine a reason not to trust him. To not want to work with the person who is in this room to WORK WITH HIM. But then again, Aventurine gives NO ONE a reason to trust him. Not because of his race but because he's an asshole who seems to think he can just tell people to work with him and they will. The ONLY time he actually offers someone a reason to work with him is at the end of the patch when he's talking to the trailblazer about their deal. Even Black Swan admits she has no reason to work with him besides the fact that she thinks she can trust him because he's a 'good businessman'. He doesn't give Ratio a reason though and he doesn't even TRY to give Sparkle a reason. He doesn't even resort to "Don't you want to be on the winner's side."
Speaking of the racist part: This is... Rough. I am against bigotry in all forms. In theory, I empathize with someone who has been mistreated and mischaracterized for their race. It is dangerous to bring in racism for a fictional race though because it's a very complicated topic, especially when you're using it as effectively exposition on that race. It is how we know what people think of Sigonians after all. If this is meant to be negative stereotyping though, that people are judging him for his eyes and not his actions, then these traits should appear untrue in regards to him. Then he as actually experienced racism.
So what are the traits? Especially the ones most assigned to Aventurine? For the race as a whole, they are, as described by Sparkle to literally point out how Aventurine is following the stereotype: Liars, thieves, social manipulators and wolves in sheep's clothing. So, if we want to say that Ratio and Sparkle are being unfair to Aventurine, ignoring his actions because of his race's stereotype, rather than just pointing out that he is a Sigonian for *shrug* Character exposition mostly frankly? We have to interrogate if Aventurine matches this description:
Liars: I will give him this. While he makes a couple claims he can't verify 100%, he actually hasn't appeared to lie to anyone. The closest he comes is claiming his parents didn't teach him life lessons before then, you know, saying they taught him a life lesson once Ratio drops the subject the statement was useful though. He does actually even correct someone though when it would have been useful for him to have let her be wrong as admitting you stalked someone for longer than they thought is kind of a bad look for you.
Thief: We have not seen him steal anything so this is bluntly untrue. However, he is also never accused of theft or given a chance where stealing might be useful to him and passing it up/or doing it so it's really still up in the air.
Social Manipulators: Aventurine claims that his parents died before he could be taught that trust is an important part of any human relationship. However, he literally says, no ambiguity, that they taught him, "Friends are the weapons of the Avgin." Then with Sparkle, he confirms, "I am an Avgin."
...Did... Did you literally just say that above actually working with people and being nice to others, your culture taught you to use people and see them as tools? Which mind you, IS how Aventurine treats everyone. Everything is quid pro quo. Everyone is out to backstab each other. You cannot escape his game because you're already trapped in it. He will KIDNAP you, say it was saving you, and portray others as villains (he cannot prove Acheron killed Duke Inferno. His story instead could apply to pretty much everyone here but blaming it on Acheron is the most useful here. He also only lists murderous aeons for what she could be, even though he doesn't know. Again, that paints her as dangerous and thus he is the 'safe' option) so as to make his arguments more enticing. He literally uses the death of his parents to get Ratio to drop a subject. Sparkle accuses him of being silver tongued as the only truly direct insult on his character. THIS is the trait she is using the Sigonian bloodline to interrogate and it's the one that holds up the most true for him, especially since he STALKED HER FOR FORTY FIVE MINUTES! If I were in her shoes, I'd have a pretty negative opinion about this creep too, especially because only do that sort of thing to gain information you can use on someone else because you know you don't have leverage on them if you just went and talked to them like a human being, which Aventurine isn't treating Sparkle as even before talking to her.
The ONE kindness I will give him here is that he doesn't blackmail the trailblazer with the truth he has. He promises he'll give us an option after he shows us it. That is a genuinely good moment and good for any redemptive qualities of his character. It is a moment that helps but by no means fixes the rest of these problems.
Wolf in Sheep's Clothing: Acheron saves us. As far as we can tell, he uses honeyed words and an excuse to be in our room in order to make us vulnerable so that he can better use us to his ends, like a wolf pretending to be a sheep. Then he finishes his talk by menacing us and saying that we are already a part of his game. As far as the presentation goes, it looks like he's about to grab us by the shoulders and drown us in the dream pool. It is shot like the moment before an over the top action villain murders one of his henchman with sadistic glee. So yeah, he counts for this one too in my opinion.
So for the stereotype of his race, especially of the one that he is actually accused of being... He just is it. They are not being bigoted towards him, they are being ACCURATE, at least with what he is most commonly doing. After all, even the talk with Himeko ends with him excited to see what his 'friends' will do for him. Now, it is still wrong for them to do. Bigotry is awful but you do have to treat it differently in a narrative where YOU decide what those stereotypes are. To write a character who leans so hard into the negative stereotypes of the race you made... is not a great way to write a character who is trying to gain sympathy because racism is happening against him, especially when he honestly comes across like he'd potentially use this to his advantage.
Final point: Him being a Stoneheart or gambler proves nothing. They are only titles. If you want to SAY it means he's smart, go ahead. Show always beats tell though. A character's actions are more important than their words or titles. Meanwhile, this dumbass rejected help from a colleague who is there to help him and work with him, who he kept waiting, in the same conversation he's talking about needing friends. He stalked someone for 45 minutes who he wants to make his 'friend' which gives her ZERO reason to want to work with him in any capacity. Then he menaces someone he wants to be his FRIEND for NO REASON. Aventurine is not good at his job.
The closest he ever gets to a win is against Himeko, who is BAFFLING in this update, because he's right. She asks for a favor for nothing in return except a title which I just called out as meaningless. He also calls this out, which is showing his hand, before accepting the soft power which... Also makes the soft power moot, meaning he actually did do exactly what Himeko wanted him to. Give him what she wants while owing him nothing. After all, the idea behind soft power is that you garner good will with someone by doing acts that have no strings attached. That people want to be around you because you are simply a good ally to have, not just because you can make a deal with them. Aventurine on the other hand explicitly makes it clear that he's doing this because he plans to call on a favor from us. Not that we HAVE to do it (you know, until the end of his conversation with us in our room which is effectively him saying we WILL help him) but that he WILL make a price for this, removing the good will that he should be trying to gain.
Aventurine having a tragic backstory and having people bring up his race does not dismiss these flaws in his character. When a villain talks about having faced adversity when he was young, that doesn't justify the cruelties he performed. When you tell a bully their abusive to others and they say their parents abused them, that doesn't make continuing the cycle of violence and horrendous treatment correct.
It just means that as a writer, you are using these real world elements to manipulate your audience rather than actually interrogating these matters. Aventurine is not some deep exploration of racism or the effects of slavery on a person. He's a dumbass with a tragic backstory who still needs to prove he's a good person, regardless of his race or upbringing, because so far he is simply not. He could improve with future updates but for the guy we are literally forced to work with in the end?
It's not exactly a good showing, for him or his people, or for the idea that him having been the victim of such injustices is going to actually be explored or have any nuance to them. In other words: It's bad writing.

Nurturing the Next Generation: Essential Skills for Aspiring Teachers
Tumblr media
Being a teacher is a prestigious career that gives you the opportunity to influence the future by maintaining continual interaction with the minds of young people. The work of a teacher is quite demanding, and in order to be successful in their position, they need to be able to use a diverse set of talents. It is helpful to have an understanding of the abilities and characteristics that are necessary for a successful career in teaching after graduating from the best placement university in Bhopal.
In this piece, we will go over the five most critical talents that a teacher should possess, and we will also give you some advice and suggestions on how you might improve these abilities on your own.
In order to become a teacher, what are the necessary skills?
When it comes to developing lesson plans, educating students, collaborating with administrators, and communicating with parents, teachers need to possess a wide range of skill sets. Although there are some of these abilities and traits that are innate to people, such as patience and leadership, the majority of them may be developed through practice and training.
Teachers put their expertise to use in order to provide an atmosphere that is favourable to learning and serves to assist the growth of their classmates. The on-the-job training that a teacher receives is essential to their personal growth, even while the official training and education that they get during their studies at the best private university in Bhopal prepares them for their work position.
In addition, teachers are expected to carry out a variety of administrative responsibilities as part of their profession. These individuals are often tasked with the responsibility of ensuring that communication is easy between the school and its students, the school and the parents, and even between the children and their parents. A mix of hard and soft abilities is going to be required of you in order to successfully complete these activities in an academic setting.
Here are the top five teaching abilities.
If you want to have a successful career as a teacher after completing your studies from the best placement university in Bhopal, the following are the five most essential talents you should work on developing:
1.   Capabilities in analytical and deductive reasoning
Teachers who possess good critical thinking abilities are able to take into account what is in the students' best interests while simultaneously performing their duties in accordance with the objectives and standards of the institution. In addition, teachers in elementary and secondary schools are obligated to maintain awareness of the expectations that parents have for learning and discipline, and they must also make certain that the classroom atmosphere is both safe and nurturing.
Tips for development: In order to progress, always putting forth the effort to become more self-aware is one way to cultivate critical thinking skills. In order to have a better understanding of your own mental processes, it is important to acknowledge your preferences, biases, strengths, and limitations. Before deciding what to do or taking any action, you should make an effort to examine the issue objectively.
2.   Having patience
Teachers of all levels should be aware that the students in their classes will come from a wide range of cultural backgrounds, have different learning styles, and have varying degrees of intellectual ability. Students that are committed to their studies are likely to make more contributions to classroom discussions and to be more laid-back, but a significant number of students also bring additional issues, such as disagreements and disturbances. When confronted with circumstances like these, teachers should be able to retain their composure while also striking a balance between their own demands and the distinctive personalities of their pupils.
Tips for Development: In order to progress, people are born with a certain amount of patience, which is a quality that is intrinsic to them. The development of patience, on the other hand, may be accomplished by seeing the potential for impulsive action and carefully monitoring it.
3.   Capabilities in communication
In an ideal world, teachers would be proficient in verbal, written, and physical communication. When instructors have strong verbal communication skills, they are able to make their lesson materials and expectations well understood by their pupils while also presenting topics in a manner that is easily understood by them. When instructors are able to maintain a tall posture in the classroom, smile often, and create eye contact with their students, they give off an impression of self-assurance and kindness, which is likely to result in increased student involvement in the course.
In order to progress, increasing the amount of time you spend reading and writing may help you enhance your communication abilities. By paying attention to your posture and mannerisms, you may also enhance the efficiency of your physical communication strategies. You can practise this by being a part of a community. At MPU, the best placement university in Bhopal, we aim to provide students the opportunity to enhance their skills other than studies to help build a better career.
4.   Capacity for organisation
It is essential for instructors to have the ability to effectively manage both their own study materials and the tasks that their pupils have. In a classroom that is well organised, all of the required resources, such as books and technology, should be placed in areas where they do not distract the pupils.
How to improve: While you are getting ready for a session, you should practise being organised. You should devise a system that will allow you to successfully store and use your study resources. The maintenance of binders and folders for various pupils, in which you may keep all of their study materials, assignments, and progress reports, is a good practice that should be followed. Plan out how you will incorporate the tasks on your to-do list into each day by preparing a calendar and making a plan.
5.   Capacity for imaginative decision-making
In order to encourage learning among younger children, teachers may find it helpful to add performances to their classrooms. Some examples of such performances include singing, painting, and mimicking. For the purpose of providing pupils with a more in-depth understanding of ideas and concepts, teachers of secondary or higher-secondary students may use various forms of media such as films, music, and the Internet.
Tips for Improvement: Practise a creative pastime on a regular basis, regardless of how skilled you are at it. This is the way to progress. In the classroom, you may want to think about employing brainstorming exercises, and you should also value ideas that are unique and original. To get inspiration, you should consume creative stuff, and then you should share the right takeaways with your pupils.
To grow your skills along with you for a successful career in the desired field of teaching. It's recommended to take a course at MPU, the best placement university in Bhopal.

the elementary school i went to had a large number of truly terrible bullies. Even now, after almost twenty years, i am still baffled at the violence both physical and psychological inflicted upon students (includes sexual violence). We were lucky in the sense that personal phones and social media were not a thing yet, so at least it was not uploaded for everyone to see.
In my case it's not like the adults weren't told, it's just that they could not do anything about it with their little speeches. And i think i need to give examples so people grasp just how unhinged these kids were.
things that happened to me personally were: kids trying to undress me in the middle of the gym, various substances being smeared into my hair during class, shoving and pushing, threatening sexual violence while pulling down their zipper, destruction of my stuff, throwing my intact stuff into the trash to force me to search for it so they could then make fun of me for 'dumpster diving'. Name calling i didnt even notice and would not have cared about if i had. They would find me sitting by myself and surround me as a group all smiley (from the outside it looked like I was part of the group) and ask me all sorts of uncomfortable questions, suggesting i had done x or y. They would be super cheery doing all this, throwing their arms around my shoulders so it looked like friends hanging out.
Keep in mind these were like... 9 year olds, 10 year olds doing that. It stopped soon bc i fought back, punching and kicking and screaming, but here is stuff that happened to other kids:
- bullies would destroy property in secret, then come act all sympethatic towards the crying student, hugging them and going 'oh who would do such a thing?' and going around arguing with the rest of the class, asking 'did you do it?' in an angry 'supportive' voice. the (newly transferred) victim kept thinking they were helpful and protective friends.
- hunt a child, literally, through the streets on her way home (the school was in a neighbourhood that was the worst in the city) smearing feces on her things, pouring food and liquids on her during the whole thing, forcing her to look for shelter in a tiny restaurant. It was at least a dozen kids, shouting and laughing while she ran crying in fear.
- rip out earrings, hair pulling to the point of bald spots, broken arms, at least one very memorable case of scissors used to carve a name into someone, throwing kids off of a three meter tall tower we could climb. Physical violence, but with torture™
this doesnt cover the condoms and needles left on the school property by strangers that would then be picked up by the bullies to be used against the other kids, or the school trips where the bullies had the isolation they needed to do more horrible shit to the kids in an old german castle.
I cannot begin to tell you how you need to systematically destroy bullying on every level.
Little apology ceremonies and suspensions are not working. Therapy session style conversations with the whole class are not working. The effect lasts maybe a week or two and then it is back to the usual torture. Bullies need to be inconvenienced at every turn for any little bullying they do. They need to be punched back, literally and figuratively. Kids who are bullied need to be taught that physical violence used as a defense mechanism is not 'escalating the fight' but the only consistent solution with long lasting results. Eventually you dont even have to fight anymore bc you establish yourself as a difficult target. Teachers that reprimand kids for fighting back need to be told to shut tf up.
In comparison high school where i witnessed more impactful violence in the form of fist fights as well as gang activity was easier to digest bc if i kept clear of them they just left me in peace. It was not this psychological torture i had witnessed as a child, the ever lasting cloud covering the sky that was looming over you even if it didnt rain.
TV barely does it any justice, i've seen some korean drama clips that get close but overall what i dislike is that the solutions are not more clearly discussed. It's an ugly answer maybe but from my own experiences i can say the solution is return the physical violence immediately. Do not let it fester, do not let them come together as a group, if one of them catches you alone in a hallway, no, you are the one catching them. Instill that mindset in your friends and keep an eye out for each other. They smear smth in your hair during class? you turn around and pour your water on them and loudly ask them why they would touch you. Make a scene, every single time. Even if your voice shakes and it feels scary, cause problems on purpose.
It gets worse before it gets better, they come back with a vengeance, i know firsthand, but keep it up and then it stops drastically.
There is no shame in self defense. If you have to get your big brother or smth involved, do so, if you have to smack them in the face do so. If you have to explain a humiliating moment to someone so they understand the seriousness of the situation, do so. There is no shame in self defense and dont let anyone who didnt bother to interfere tell you otherwise. They didnt interfere then, they dont interfere now.
And you will face that too, unfortunately, cowards who only speak up when you punch back but never when the bullies break the peace. It will be friends, it will be parents, teachers, anybody. Keep at it.
Don't start shit, but make sure to finish it when others do. Repeatedly. Systematically.
no piece of teen media has ever accurately depicted the quiet psychological warfare of bullying. bullies on TV are always dumb brutes and not the evil geniuses of emotional manipulation that they are in real life. being given a wedgie and having your lunch money stolen is nothing in comparison to a classmate quietly creating a taboo against speaking to you that they intend to enforce against all the other kids. it’s nothing like continuous cutting comments from people you thought were being nice to you. that way that the work of one kid can make you feel like every person on earth silently hates you and that you are dirty, disgusting, worthless, creepy and useless. that you can have friends but many of them will not speak to you at school for fear of the social consequences on their end. how that damage lasts in any social setting for the rest of your life

Thank You
The unveiling of Brickvue Elementary was a huge success! I'm so grateful to all of those that came out to check out the display. Folks young and old and from Bellevue and other communities stopped by to see it, add a minifigure, and get pictures with the model. I couldn't be happier with the outcome and the support of the community, my family, and friends to make this project come to life.
Across the two hours we had the disply open, I'd say we had at least 200 people visit. Some folks were Northgate alums who attended when the elementary school was the high school. Some were kids that were going to be going into Kindy at the school. Many, of course, were students at the school. It was so cool to see a melting pot of folks across generations care about this space and value the impact it had on them.
I got many questions, like how was it designed, how did I move it, how many bricks did I use, did I use a computer to design it. All great questions - some of you may be wondering. Here are some of the basic stats I recited multile times throughout the night.
Took about 5 months to build
Model is built on a modular grid so it can snap apart and back together with ease
The model features interactive components, such as walls opening like doors or the front facade opening like a double-door entrance so that students could put figures inside and also get a sense of how to build their own interactive components.
The white plates inside of the school represent the classrooms, which students in the school can design several times throughout the year. I hope this becomes a special activity.
The white plates are built on a moderately stable system of four-pillars per level, which while not being an ideal design choice relative to proper stability, does allow students to remove the plates, design on them, then stack them back into place.
The courtyard/playground area is unfinished - I left that for the students to build as I felt they'd have the most fun making that and I couldn't frankly wrap my head around how to do it.
The model will be there permanently, though perhaps not in the configuration/placement you saw it last night. I'm hoping that it will stay in good shape over time, though, of course, I'll be fixing it up from time to time.
The process behind the design was intentionally analog. I did not want to use a computer to build the model whatsoever. What you saw/have seen is a completely improvised design. LEGO, in my opinion, is best experienced when it is improvised. That's where the true creativity lies and so I wanted to replicate that as much as possible. It was also important to me that the young builders looking at the model could figure out how it was built or build their own or *ideally* make something they felt was better or an improvement.
I want to thank Erin for supporting not just this model, but Brickvue, and LEGO Bayne Library projects from start to finish. Thanks to Amelia for helping be build the model and working on the inside support columns for the classrooms. Special thanks to Sanghee and her family and Sandi Douglas for donating to the project. Last but certainly not least, my gratitude to Dr. Amick, Bellevue Elementary School principal, for supporting this project, enhancing it, offering the school to be the models permanent home, helping me transport it to the school, and put it back together.
I like to do projects in counts of three. This is the last of my Brickvue "trilogy" of projects. I've put a profound amount of time, money, and effort into designing these experiences and I need to take a much-needed break. I am hoping to do some commission work (if anyone is interested, let me know) and builds with Amelia. Nevertheless, I hope that some of the builders in Bellevue, regardless of age or experience, can follow my lead and put their own projects into public display. I'd be thrilled to see Bellevue embrace building like this.

Blog Unit 6
Reflecting back on what I've learned in this class, I'd have to say I'm more comfortable with inquiry based learning. Before this week, I'd never heard of the 5E's. I knew about some of the technology tools or Web 2.0 tools that can reinforce the learning going on in my classroom, but now I have more information from my peers to further my lessons with new tools! I started teaching my new course at my school, so a lot of what I learn, I teach to my counterpart at the other elementary school so we can really be on the same page. When I come back to my administrators to plan the curriculum every month, I have all of this information to backup my explanations of what this course needs to include to be successful. These lessons and activities have taught me a lot and I try to implement them as soon as possible.
I'll admit it is still hard for me to change the way I teach, but as time passes it does get easier. I was so used to teaching using Why? questions and Inquiry learning doesn't include why as much. I've had to reword a lot of my language during a lesson since I was so used to being more of a leader in the classroom. Asking the questions in a more investigative way is going to be something I will be working on. I can tell that the change is making a difference with my students since they're so used to getting the answers, not having to think and apply the information. I have seen a difference in them as well as me, so I hope to continue this growth and change for the better.
As for any burning questions, I only have one. Why don't more teachers use inquiry based learning? I know science classes do, but most do not. I wish more teachers would be able to integrate inquiry into their lessons more and have the students use their higher levels of thinking. It can help them become problem solvers which will help them in their future. As adults, we have to solve problems, but the newest generations don't seem to have the imagination and intuition to solve problems. They want the answer and move forward. I hope that changes as time goes on.

My School.
Tumblr media
Hi, welcome back to my blog.Previously, I would like to say thank you to the readers for the second time for visiting my blog. Now, on this occasion, I will tell you about my school. Talking about school, many of us go to school every day to get education and friends. We may also feel lazy to go to school, sometimes we also feel excited to go to school.
Now you can read and listen to my story about my opinion when I studied at this school for 3 years.
Tumblr media
SMP Katolik Santo Fransiskus Assisi Samarinda is the name of the school. This school is one of the Catholic schools in Samarinda. So in my opinion, I think this school very good. The facilities here are quite adequate and complete, many facilities and infrastructure are good and suitable for use by students , very many and good extracurricular, the students here are very friendly, polite, willing to help, kind, and disciplined, the teachers and staff also the nurses are also very friendly, kind, polite, and helpful. This school is considered very crowded because this school is a combination of 3 levels of schools starting from elementary, junior high, and high schools.
Tumblr media
This school has a greeting that reads: "Salam Fransiskus Pace e Bene" which means Greetings Francis peace and good. Also in this school we have a student council organization. In my opinion, this organization is very good, doesn't make a mess, really helps the school community, also this organization helps people who are in need out there, and when the election for the osis chairman and vice osis is fairly fair and good because we do voting.
Tumblr media
So in this school , there are lots of classes, let's take an example in junior high school there are 15 classes. Each class has its own facilities and infrastructure, for example, grade 7 and grade 8.5 have air conditioning, while other classes rely on fans and wind from nature, each class has an LCD projector, except for class 9.4, and each class has chairs and the desks themselves, some made of wood or iron, also each class has CCTV. The number of students in each class varies from 27 to 31 students.
Tumblr media
There is a canteen with lots of food and drinks as well as lots of benches and tables, a library with lots of books, and the room is cool because it has air conditioning. In here, there is also a science, computer and language lab which has quite complete facilities.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
At this school too there is a very large parking lot, a very wide elementary school field, also has a very wide and large GOR and has many complete facilities and infrastructure, such as basketball hoops, basketball courts, badminton courts, soccer fields, stands, wickets, and there is a net as a barrier for each field and maintain the comfort of each student.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This school is also very clean, no trash, has lots of plants and a green, healthy, beautiful environment, because the school cleaners do all of that. At this school there are also security guards who are ready to help serve students, teachers and parents of the students, also other people. Every day this school always has a lively atmosphere because many students attend school here and this school always makes the streets jam.
Tumblr media
If you want to see the Assisi school environment and what activities we do at this school, please visit our website https://smpkstfransiskusassisi-smd.sch.id/ copy and click this link.
That's all my story on this occasion. Thank you for reading the story about my school. I hope my story can be useful for readers. I apologize if there are any wrong words. Finally, I say Greetings Francis Pace e Bene.

No?
Why would they?
Sometimes people need to spend time on their phone.
Phones are good for lost people in isolated places.
They're good for small periods of boredom and downtime.
They're good for checking in with friends and organizing events.
They're good for disabled people or sick or injured people who can't just go dancing on a beach whenever they want.
They're good for reading without wasting paper or physical space.
They're good for checking out information.
They're good for people who need to fidget in public, to replace smoking a cigarette or drinking or vaping.
Under socialism, demonizing low effort, relatively personal and private activities in favor of expensive high effort ones that make good status symbols that can be sold back to people isn't necessary.
People can go dancing, they can be on their phone.
People will choose.
Under socialism, that's my favorite thing that will change.
Right now, most people's lives are designed. Like...
Did you ever read Brave New World?
The scene at the beginning where they explain how they condition young people from a very young age?
They call it Fordism.
The idea is that they are able to mass produce people- based on the jobs they need and the population size they want, and various other things, they mass produce so many people based on age, gender, biological intelligence level, and then educate those people in such a way that they all have roughly the same upbringing, needs, desires, and responses to stimuli that help maintain order.
You could read a bunch of other books to realize that they still do this, or you could compare the walls of your workplace to the walls of the school you attended. Are they the same color? I don't know about you, but my gifted classes in my poorer schools had walls that looked just like a cubicle in the call centers they make here because people in the Midwest have the "standard American TV accent," and when I was in elementary school, the gifted classes got lots of computer time because we lived in Austin, and the skinny white girls from a certain demographic got lots of money to take sports classes and told they were dumb and couldn't read well, and when I was in remedial classes they took place in an outdoor portable classroom with brick walls that resembled a warehouse, and when I took classes for kids with behavioral issues they held em at big old houses. I could make more examples. I went to lots of different schools. But I bet if you work in an office right now, the building resembles your high school. Why do you think that's useful?
My favorite thing about socialism is that we can get to a point where we have a lot of things that get automated. Fewer hours of work. Maybe less fuss about the people who do the work not getting ideas as long as they do the work efficiently and leave if they want to try different work. All the jobs will mean equal dignity and respect. And all the automated work will be something like a tribal dividend is for people on native land- where it pays out equally to everyone so they can benefit from the value created by machines who can't use that value.
So if people try different jobs or leave a job it won't be a big deal or a problem and it won't mean some people are allowed to have more safety or comfort or less stress or more disability accommodation or Healthcare or whatever based on their job.
That's really cool anyway because it means people won't be trapped.
What's even cooler than that is that it means we get to stop doing Fordism.
We won't need to brainwash people to make them happy with filling a certain social role, or consistently try to force or push them into roles that don't fit. Even demographics like gender or age or whatever won't determine some kind of weird arbitrary life script that the government works to covertly push every person to follow and makes sure to limit options or help or restrict opportunities and resources to do certain things to certain people to incentivize people to do certain other things.
People can do whatever they want.
There isn't a "correct" way to spend your free time without fordism.
If you want to go to the beach or go dancing you do that, if you want to read old man yaoi or look at memes you do that. And it's not an either or proposition. You are not restricted from reading old man yaoi while at the beach. You can learn to do whatever you want. You can decide to just hang out and stare at the wall and think for a day. You can decide to make sparkly gifs on your phone. You can go to a museum and look at paintings.
Being on your damn phone is fine to do.
Ads will probably be more like reminders. "Did you eat that cilantro in the refrigerator? It's about to go bad."
They probably will have people who come up with activities for people to do, but some of the activities will be doomscrolling on their phone.
Mobile games under socialism will still advertise constantly but instead of trying to sell products they'll be like those Soviet ads telling you to learn dancing or go to the beach or really do anything but waste time on your phone

The oddities of Old School RuneScape.
Recently (as in sometime since the time dilation got worse) a friend of mine bullied me back into playing RuneScape for the first time in a decade and some change. It was, at first, a fun little exercise in nostalgia and childhood wish fulfillment. I was unsurprised to find that I still remembered just about everything you could do in free to play given I had completed all of that content half a dozen times and when it came to the members content I was finally able to do all of the things that a young hatsforfish could only dream of doing. I never had a membership growing up, so to see the grass from the other side felt like striking off long forgotten bucket list items. What I didn't suspect when I submitted the request to recover my account was that I would stick around.
RuneScape has gone through a handful of iterations since it first went online in early 2001. The version I grew up playing was RuneScape 2; the version that the modern Old School RuneScape (from this point on OSRS) is based on and the version that was revived due to some of the player base's dissatisfaction with RuneScape 3 (R3). My original character, which I had made in my elementary school computer lab and whose name was a misspelling of the name I had at the time wished my parents gave me, remains trapped in R3 since it is technically the original game. OSRS is a ship of Theseus of the 2007 version of the game that got updated out of existence. It is not the original but is made of all the parts that the original slowly replaced. Or it was at the beginning, because the devs then continued to update the new old version of the game with new content and even new visuals. So OSRS now is more what we remember RuneScape 2 to be rather than what it actually was.
The updates aren't haphazard though. Almost every change or addition to the game is polled by the player base before release and needs to meet a stringent 70% approval rating to pass. What this effectively means is that the active community in the game decides what nostalgia means to them. This helps get around one of the problems that Dan Olson pointed out with regards to WOW in this video which is that the paratext of the game, the guides wikis and technical understanding of the games systems, has fundamentally shifted the way we play the game. Back in 2007 nobody knew what they were doing, they just did what felt right to them or what a friend of a friend had said was good. The idea of a "game tick" was not in peoples vocabularies and so the devs didn't have to design around people intricately manipulating and optimizing the game the way they can now. At the same time nobody has the same amount of time they did back then so the genuinely long grinds the game used to contain are even less appealing today.
So when I started playing OSRS I remembered back to Olson's original video on WOW classic and figured that the same was going to more or less be true for RuneScape as well. Logging in to my new character (whose name ended up being weirdly prescient) I figured I would exhaust my nostalgia fairly quickly and throw in the towel the same I have for any game without a proper ending. It was sometime during the quest Recipe for Disaster that the true form of OSRS started to appear to me and I started to notice the pattern.
See, I wanted to get my combat level up, so I looked for the best way to train combat and the internet almost universally said that slayer tasks were the way to go. I jump into some of the level appropriate tasks, looking up guides along the way and it mentions an item that would help called the Slayer Helm which is unlocked by earning points from doing tasks. Well, that's convenient since I'm already doing tasks but doing tasks my level meant points came in slower. If I did faster easier tasks, then and did the high-level ones on the count that gave a score multiplier then I would have the Slayer helm in no time. That being said killing all these low-level mobs quickly mean leaving a ton of bones on the floor and it's just such a shame for them to go to waste since prayer is such an expensive skill to train otherwise. Turns out that there is an item that automatically converts dropped bones into passive prayer xp and that would be incredible to have for this grind. It is, however, locked behind the Morytania achievement diary which has a ton of requirements but they're all things I was meaning to do anyhow. So, I head off the grind agility and right around the time I start thinking about unlocking Fossil Island so I could start doing birdhouse runs in between agility course laps the whole picture finally snaps into place. The natural game flow of OSRS is just simulating what it's like to live with inattentive ADHD.
Given that I have inattentive ADHD I figured that OSRS just allowed for more floating from thing to thing than most games do so I saw my real-life tendencies reflected in it more than most other games. That was until I found out that a ton of other people play the game this way. Now that could just mean that a lot of ADHD havers play the game, which wouldn't strike me as all that unusual but either way I wasn't out of place here. What was odd was that existing like this usually makes me absolutely miserable but for some reason doing those same patterns in RuneScape didn't frustrate me at all. In fact, this sort of tangential advancement has kept me focused on the game waaaaaaaay longer than I ever could have guessed. While I never did get my bone crusher, I did just get back around to finishing the quest that I had gotten distracted from in the first place. Intentional or otherwise, the design of the game is one of the first times it felt like the way my brain works might not always be a detriment to my goals. In spite of that I do not recommend getting started on the game unless you have a lot of free time and nothing better to spend it on.

i thought that i followed you but aparently not (i do now)
I hope it's ok i request again, if youre busy feel free to ignore but maaan that Sebek where he doesnt realize he has a crush was soo good (and i finally know how to describe a fic like that), therefore is it posible the same trope but with Riddle? If so thanks
note: omg tysm for the follow 😳 and i hope you enjoy!
Tumblr media
He does not have a crush on you.
Rule-breaker, disobedient, a rebel and sharp-tongued— Riddle has called you more names than that in his head. But he dare not speak any of them aloud, for it would be unbecoming of him and would go against his promise to turn a new leaf.
And promises, like rules, are sacred and shan't be broken. It is a philosophy he lives by.
But being lenient doesn't mean he would simply turn a blind eye to your mistakes and violations, that would go against everything that he's been taught. A casual remark, nothing too hurtful like before The Incident.
For example, he'd call you out on your improper posture or tell you off when you slouch. It would hurt your back if you continue to do so.
He would give you pointers on upcoming exams or activities, but not without a blunt remark. This topic is elementary, kindergarten-level even, it's appalling that you don't have the slightest grasp on the subject.
Or one time he caught you taking a bite out of Ace's cookie dough from the fridge, out of spite if he may add. Aren't you worried about catching unwanted microbes? Salmonella?
Though, looking past your hard-headedness and reluctance to abide by Heartslabyul's laws, you had a few good points.
You were quick to think like Ace, and silver-tongued like him as well. The only difference? You didn't let your talents go to waste, you didn't sit idly by but you improved and built upon it.
You'd often be seen scouring through Heartslabyul's generous assortment of encyclopedias and potionology books.
He admires someone who hones their skills, someone who rests not on their laurels and continue to improve. Such a person is worthy of his respect.
He would continuously deny any teasing or even subtle hints from his peers, namely Azul and Ace, especially Ace.
Again, he doesn't have a crush on you.
"Ah, Riddle, you seem to be in good spirits today," Azul remarked, glancing at the little folded note that was tucked between Riddle's notes.
"It seems that I now know why," he chuckled, "The Prefect seems to know how to pacif— ehem, to keep your temper at bay," the Octavinelle housewarden suppressed a laugh.
"I don't recall asking for your input Azul. If I were you, I'd be preparing for flight lessons right now instead of prying into personal affairs. Good luck, with your flight skills, a practice flight or two is necessary."
Azul looked offended, "How thoughtful of you."
And how could he forget Ace's teasing?
"Housewarden, you're smart and at the top of every class and all, but it looks like romance isn't your thing!" Ace said, slouching on one of the lounge sofas.
"I beg your pardon?"
"You can't hide how you look at the Prefect, especially not from me," Ace laughed, "You could say I'm an expert at sniffing out some pining peeps."
"Say, Deuce-y and I are one of the best wingmen here in campus! Ain't that right Deuce?" Ace called, "What? Oh, uh, yeah?" the freshman replied, looking puzzled. "Ace we didn't get Jack on a date, we made it worse—" "Shush!"
"We get you on a date with them, and in exchange—"
"No thank you," Riddle firmly said. "I'm confident with my skills already. I don't need any help, thank you very much."
"Worth a shot," Ace whispered.
"That reminds me, shouldn't you be preparing the garden for a croquet match by now?"
"Um....well, you see..."
"Go, NOW!"
"Yes, housewarden!"
He glanced at your most recent letter, smiling a bit. Then he caught himself.
He has a crush on you.

☀️🌞 Sun and houses: where and how we shine the most 🌞☀️
Credit blog: Tumblr blog @astroismypassion
@iamqueen233 asked me the other day in my mailbox if I could write about sun and houses and where, how we shine the most. I thought it was an interesting question so I dedicate a whole post to it! 😘
❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥 Sun in the 1st house ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥
You shine the most in doing exercises, workouts, physical activities. When you are just being your unique self, when you embrace your own individuality, personality, traits and encourage others to do the same. When you don’t beat around the bush. When your are tolerant and patient, yet compromising and in tune with other people in the team as well. When you help other people in the group. When you choose to do whatever you feel like doing with your clothing style.
💋💋 Sun in the 2nd house 💋💋
You shine best when you develop some skills, when you know your values, preferences, likes, dislikes. When you have good spending habits. When you share your possession, talents, skills, life experiences with others and teach them your skills.
🗣🗣 Sun in the 3rd house 🗣🗣
You shine the most in elementary and high school, when you read a book, listen to a podcast, learn a new (verbal) skill, language, connect with neighbours. Your posts on social media must be fire! Or you like to shout out for your friends on your social media. This is another placement that really likes group project or work on something with a team of friends.
🐳🐳 Sun in the 4th house 🐳🐳
I dare to say that your close friends, family, relatives would actually describe you as bossy, stubborn and attention loving! Because these people around you are the ones that are most aware of these traits of yours. Again, similar to Sun in the 10th house avoid boss-ing around your friends and family since it might create resentment in them.
💛💛 Sun in the 5th house 💛💛
You shine best in your own free time, working on whatever interest you and that you’re passionate about. Basically when you escape from responsibilities. You shine in sports, hobbies, dealings with children and love affairs. When you channel your creative energies into whatever project or side hustle.
📚📚 Sun in the 6th house 📚📚
The key with this placement is really daily self improvement. You should pick 6 activities that you practise daily and repeat them. The downside here is that you might also get bored with them after 21 days. Then you should pick new 6 activities. But always come back to the old ones and “rotate” them. So that you create a wheel of daily habits that stabilze you, make you feel at ease, that you don’t procrastinate and don’t become too anxious.
💜💜 Sun in the 7th house 💜💜
The lesson for this placement is to become less vain and selfish, but to learn to be compromising with people, yet still emphatise with people individually so understanding them and their needs on one on one personal level. You shine best when you express concern for others, but still have fulfilling relationships based on mutual reciprocation. Honestly you just really like people giving you genuine compliments, but you try to give them back those as well and suddenly you’re not exchanging only compliments, but you’re in a full on romantic partnership.
♥️♥️ Sun in the 8th house ♥️♥️
You shine best when respect your partner’s values, change career often (or when it’s not dull and monotone), when you let go and you’re emotionally responsible. When you take emotional accountability. When you have sexual self control, but also during sex. When you people watch. When you recognise other people’s gift and you express that in a transparent way. Basically when you see talent in others and express that to them. When you are vulnerable.
⛵️⛵️ Sun in the 9th house ⛵️⛵️
When you have cultural exchange with people from the community, when you try to understand abstract ideas and concepts. When you are devoted to a person or a project on a daily basis. When you do something more risky, yet spontaneous. When you dress up for whenever you are travelling somewhere, visit something foreign (restaurant, place, city) or visit something for the first time. When you inspire other with telling your personal life stories and happening and this is how you also connect with other people (great storyteller!). When you understand the collective thought.
⚓️⚓️ Sun in the 10th house ⚓️⚓️
You shine best when you have a quality relationship with your parents, elderly people, your mentors, those that inspire you to so better. When you have a good relationship with your superior and when you are willing to sacrifice yourself for your OWN self mastery. It’s very important for you to have a good relationship with your mother. You naturally attract recognition from authorities or in the public community. You could be good in politics or voicing your opinion in a public standing. You are attention when you are respectful of others. Authority figures naturally gravitate towards you, because they see themselves in you.
💚💚 Sun in the 11th house 💚💚
Believe it or not, this placement is actually very similar to Sun in the 1st house. They shine the most when the embrace themselves, team up with people and still assert themselves individually. You shine best when you have a side hustle going or an online business. When you take care of younger siblings or cousins, relatives. When you give each person in the family a role. When you protect back people that protected you in the past, especially during childhood.
💖💖 Sun in the 12th house 💖💖
When you create, DIY in your alone time. When you take time off for yourself and recharge your individual needs before helping, mingling with other people. When you treat to separate yourself from the rest of society through film, dance, arts, use of your creativity and imagination. When you try writing poetry, keeping a journal (daily, meditation, gratefulness, planner). When you address your own limitations, frustrations and daily duties responsibilities.

Online Safety Relevant to the Current State of the Internet
On twitter I made a tweet about how online safety lessons in school can be very out of touch but that the advice of people who are familiar with the current internet shouldn't be disregarded. So here's my informal collection of online safety tips
Sources: unrestricted internet access since elementary school (not recommended), being a formerly involuntarily home bound person for several years that amassed way too much online experience
This could possibly hold upsetting reminders to people who had bad experiences online including mentions of grooming and emotional manipulation so please proceed with caution!
Information Sharing
Make an online pseudonym for public profiles and websites.
Don’t feel like you have to list everything about you for the world to see.
Sometimes it’s not a question of “can this information be used to locate and identify me irl?”, but simply “do I want this information publicly available and linked to my online persona?”
Unlike offline, being online leaves a constant trail of who you were accessible at all times. People are constantly growing and changing. Try to limit the information you share so you can ditch that trail and start over if need be.
Sharing information with people you make friends with and trust is a judgement call on your part, but always be on the safe side and be protective of your information.
Start as cautious as possible with online safety. Any risks or judgement calls can come later when you are 1. aware of the risks, 2. ready to address them if they occur, and 3. have gathered plenty of information instead of doing something blindly and hoping for the best.
Do not share your triggers publicly, they can very easily be used against you. Instead use websites with a large amount of filtering options to curate your online experience. If you are going to share them, only do it privately with people you trust.
Importance of Boundaries
It doesn’t matter how mature you are, don’t enter age limited spaces you don’t qualify for. It’s disrespectful to the boundaries of the people who made that space. Boundaries like this exist for the comfort of both sides involved.
Just because you can “handle it” doesn’t mean it’s good for you. Desensitization is not something to brag about.
Venting or making r18 posts as a minor on a public account is VERY dangerous. Intense emotional vulnerability is something manipulators will look for as a way to get to you. The same with sexual jokes to develop your comfort talking about those topics casually and eventually escalating the situation. If you are going to talk about such things please keep that in private conversations with people you trust in your age group.
Note the difference between public and private online space. Tweeting something on a public account is not the same as having a conversation in the cafeteria with your friends.
If an adult tries talking to you about r18, run the other way. Doesn’t matter how cool you are, it says something weird about THEM if they’re willing to talk to a minor about that stuff.
If someone( like 3+ years, honestly depends on how old you are) older than you wouldn't be comfortable saying what they're saying to you in front of other people (like a teacher or guardian), that's suspicious as hell. Run in the other direction.
The younger you are, the more age gaps matter. There's a bigger difference in development between a 13 year old and a 17 year old than there is between a 20 year old and a 24 year old. It helps to try to contextualize it with real people instead of numbers. Instead of thinking "oh just 4 years? that's not that weird" consider "oh. that would be like a freshman (13/14) dating a senior (17/18). yikes."
Be just as wary of people your own age talking about things that make you uncomfortable. Just like irl, sometimes you’ll meet people your age that are hurtful.
Friends complain to each other and talk about their issues, that alone is fine. But when people are doing it without permission, draw a line. When people are making it feel like you’re responsible for maintaining their mental health, you need to draw a line. When it starts to effect your mental health, PLEASE DRAW A LINE! I know it feels like your responsibility sometimes, but it’s not. You cannot be there for others if you’re not taking care of yourself first and foremost.
Don’t be afraid to block people. Even for petty reasons. It’s good to block people. Don’t force yourself to see stuff you don’t want to see.
Being Constantly Online
The 24 hour news cycle is not a good thing to follow 24/7. Taking social responsibility is a good thing, but your brain is NOT built to worry about every issue in the world at once. One strategy I use for staying sane is I try to only check the news once a day, and if something needs more attention to set aside an amount of time I’m going to focus on it before I need to take time to step back.
Touch grass. Not literally, unless you can in which case I highly suggest it, sometimes it’s just good to lay in a field. What I mean is you need to dedicate a good portion of your time to being offline (sleep does not count). What your offline time looks like is going to differ depending on your level of ability, but even if you are house bound it’s important to build some hobbies that don’t rely on the internet. Talking to people offline is also a good goal if possible, even just to your housemates.
Social etiquette greatly differs online and offline and sometimes the reminder that were all just Some People gets lost behind the numbers and the fabricated personas. Keep in mind the difference in how information is shared without forgetting that the fact we are all people remains the same.
Be generous with your etiquette. You will avoid a lot of stress if you conduct yourself with the same politeness you would have in an offline interaction. Master the art of "minding your own business" for your own sake.
Arguments and Competition
As soon as you can, you need to internalize the fact that leaving an argument is not losing.
It is inevitable you will be exposed to many people who disagree with you. Some people only want to argue to rile you up. Sometimes that’s not their intention, but it’s what they’re doing. You do not have to remain in conversation with people, especially if they’re not interested in actually coming to an understanding. Even if they are interested, sometimes they just suck!! Leave!! You can leave!!
On that note, sometimes you are going to get valid criticism and it’s going to hurt. That is part of learning. If someone says you messed up and did something hurtful, take a second to step back from your defensiveness and consider: intent ≠ effect. Apologize, repair what you can, and move forward with the ability to do better in the future. You’re going to mess up every once in awhile, it’s inevitable.
To summarize the past two points: don't waste your time on unnecessary hostility but don't close yourself into an echo chamber either. Debates should be about learning.
Sometimes people are not going to like you. This happens offline too but people tend to be a lot more blunt online. Sometimes people dislike you for no reason or for really petty reasons. That’s not your problem, move on.
Don’t actively seek out people you don’t like or who don’t like you to argue with. Whether or not your side is the “right side” doesn’t matter, it’s going to cause you so much unnecessary stress. Feel free to keep posting your opinions on your own profile but don’t seek out unnecessary conflict.
This is a different type of competition than previously mentioned, but be aware of the danger of comparing yourself to other people. Especially if you’re a creative or student, DO NOT GET SWEPT UP IN THE GRIND CULTURE. It’s more subtle in some places than others, but anytime you see the notion that you should be working yourself to the bone be VERY critical. Also be critical of any online cultures (such as gaming and art communities) that brag about unhealthy habits or act like it’s ~part of the culture~ (ex: all nighters, not taking breaks, getting hurt. Any activity that neglects health to work toward a goal).
Not just grind culture, any community of subculture that shares anti recovery sentiments is a huge red flag. Even if they're joking, it's not worth the risk of internalizing those statements.
Everyone’s social media presence is to some degree doctored because it’s a purposefully selected collection of what they allow you to see. It’s fine to like the persona you see being displayed, but never forget that it is not reflective of the entire person. Everyone online is JUST SOME PERSON. Do not forget that and start holding yourself to a standard you can’t even see every side of.
By posting online you are opening yourself to criticism. Whether or not it’s justified can vary, but either way it’s going to happen. Mute stuff, go private, disable comments, etc if you need to.
Misc Tidbits
these are technically just general info that is also good for offline but I have seen things that make me think people online need the extra reminder.
Learn what cults are, how they recruit, and what they do to their members. I'm not kidding. This is particularly relevant at the moment because of current societal unrest and widespread loneliness. No one is immune to cult propaganda, and not every cult is based on pre established religion or family. Many exist ONLINE and are able to manipulate people without ever meeting face to face. (learn more: Loneliness as a Pandemic: The Dangers of Online Cult
Familiarize yourself with the concept of pseudoscience. Please familiarize yourself with the concept of pseudoscience and then learn how to identify pseudoscience. (learn more: Karl Popper, Science, & Pseudoscience: Crash Course Philosophy #8)
Q. How do I know if a source is reliable?
Final Thoughts
It's important people of ALL ages learn these lessons, because the internet is constantly changing and we are all vulnerable when in the presence of other people.
Be cautious and stay safe
