part one! part two!
DILUC
Everyone knows that Diluc is quiet, assembled and calm. Always and in all situations. He rarely shows his real emotions to strangers. Because he doesn't trust them.
You've always been amazed at how differently he can behave with different people. And how "other" he is next to you.
Yes, he's calm and assembled too, expresses confidence and aristocracy, but when you're next to him, he becomes gentle and affectionate, ready to bathe you in love and care.
Therefore, when you have a son, it's difficult for him to ask you to pay attention to him too, given his calm nature. He feels very awkward, realizing that taking care of a child requires a lot of responsibility.
And he will be silent, watching in silence how gently and reverently you hold your son in your arms, singing a beautiful lullaby to him.
The sound of your voice makes Diluc feel very sleepy, and he also wants to get a little of your caress, falling asleep on your lap.
You will be surprised how clingy he becomes when you put your son to bed and Diluc immediately pulls you into his arms.
"Did you miss me?" Your voice and laughter flow like a pleasant melody in his ears, and the man relaxes, getting all your attention to himself.
"Yes. Can we spend today together?" Diluc's words sound pleading, as if he hasn't seen or felt you next to him for ages. And it was unbearable.
Taking advantage of the fact that his son has finally fallen asleep, Diluc leads you to living room, where you both can relax and enjoy each other's company.
As soon as you're in his arms, your son's loud crying startles you, and you look at your husband excitedly, preparing to rush to the nursery to comfort your child.
But Diluc only shakes his head, and a sly smile appears on his lips — not characteristic of him. Your knees are shaking.
"Don't worry, my love, the maids will take care of him. And you have to take care of me."
You think that sometimes he looks like Kaeya with his cunning tricks. But you nod, calming down, when the baby stops crying.
Now, please give him your affection and love, which he missed so much.
KAEYA
Kaeya is the exact opposite of his stepbrother. He is cocky, cunning, and very charming.
He loves to tease you and doesn't miss any opportunity to do so. Regardless of place, time and circumstance. He has nothing to be ashamed of, because in this way he shows his affection for you.
When your daughter is born, Kaeya's heart becomes soft and light, he no longer wants to tease or joke. He wants to show care for his child through gentleness.
But, when all your attention goes only to your daughter, the man feels a slight insecurity. Have you lost interest in him because he stopped teasing you?
All your attention is directed to your daughter, and Kaeya would be a liar if he said that he didn't understand why this was happening.
Your child is an angel in the flesh, so you're constantly next to her.
You're completely enchanted with your baby, which is why you haven't paid attention to your husband for a long time. And Kaeya doesn't intend to take it anymore.
He suddenly takes his daughter from your arms, and you let out a frightened squeak. He came up with a brilliant plan to get your attention and tease you in the process.
"Can I hold my daughter in my arms too?" You recognize your lover's signature smirk and pout your lips when he smiles slyly, realizing that your attention now belongs entirely to him.
He will laugh, circling with his daughter in his arms, while you, with an annoyed and worried face, will run after him.
You know that Kaeya is careful and won't let anything happen to your daughter while he's fooling around like that.
Your baby is in his reliable and strong embrace, so relax a little and rest with him.
"You have such a funny face, Y/n!"
And right now, it's more than enough for Kaeya to see your cute, funny face when he's around you and your daughter.
You're so funny and sweet when he teases you, which is why he's so happy to feel that excitement again and see the look of your embarrassed face, so keep keeping your attention on him.
KAMISATO AYATO
As the head of Kamisato Clan, Ayato is constantly busy with various important matters. He doesn't have much time to give you his attention. And because of this, he blames himself very much in this.
You don't blame him, realizing that he has a big responsibility, and humbly wait until he's free in the evening after work.
And while you're waiting for your husband, you spend most of your time around your newborn daughter. You used to have a lot of free time, but now you're constantly busy taking care of your child
So when Ayato realizes that he's tired and needs to be near you and rest, he gets a little disappointed when he sees that you're busy taking care of your daughter.
Ayato is a gentleman and will never insist that you give your attention to him immediately. He will wait.
Sure, he understands that the wait is always long and painful, but when you receive your prize after a long wait, it's always very sweet and exciting, isn't it?
If he really wants your unquestioning attention here and now, he will ask Ayaka to look after your baby.
He knew that you couldn't refuse his sister such a request, so your husband always took advantage of this weakness of yours.
When your child is in Ayaka's arms, you immediately find yourself in Ayato's arms, and the man winks at his sister in satisfaction, making you frown slightly.
Don't make that face! You know very well that he needs your attention, and now he takes what belongs to him.
You and he are alone in his office, and Ayato can let out a sigh of relief as you stop resisting his embrace and relax too.
"Are you doing this to avoid your job?" You ask slyly, teasing your husband.
He just chuckles and takes your face in his hands.
"No, my dear, I'm doing this to get your attention." He finishes talking and your lips meet his in a kiss.
Be with him now, hug him, kiss him, and he will also be with you, he will hug you and kiss you. He will give you his attention too.
THOMA
It's safe to say that Thoma is very economic and hardworking. The Kamisato estate is led by him, he confidently does his work.
This work brings him pleasure, communication with Ayaka and Ayato is very valuable to him. But sometimes he can get tired too, want your affection and care.
You're also a hardworking person, constantly busy with something, so you both rarely get to spend time together. And when your son was born, you had even less time.
Your husband was constantly at his work, and you were always busy taking care of the child, so you hardly noticed that Thoma really lacked your attention.
But speaking of Thoma, when he came home, he wanted your affection and attention, but you just smiled at him, holding your son in your arms, while he falls asleep.
The man lowers his eyebrows sadly, trying to make the cutest look he could. He was so sweet in that moment and you really couldn't resist it.
You asked Thoma to wait a little while you put your son in the cradle, making the man's eyes light up with sincere happiness.
He's very clingy when the two of you spend time together. Thoma loves to lay his head on your lap and enjoy the way you gently touch his hair with your hands.
"Let's take a break today from our duties and spend this beautiful day together." He says, and you understand that he really missed you and your attention.
You nod tiredly but happily and lead the man into the living room, where you both sit on the couch.
"Okay. Then tell me about how Ayato-sama and Ayaka-sama are doing. I want to visit them when I have free time."
"They will be very glad to see you, honey." Thoma nods and wraps his arms around you, resting his head on your shoulder.
For now, the two of you can relax, enjoying each other's company, and later visit Ayaka and Ayato with your child.

Family AU masterlist
You feel so tired. Body aches and eyes hurt - you barely managed to fall asleep tonight, keeping your husband awake too to coax you into a state of slumber. This also added emotional stress, the clawing guilt for depriving him of sleep right before such a meaningful and happy day, but the man kept lovingly reassuring you that he didn't mind and would support and comfort you always, especially now, when you are so vulnerable, just days away from welcoming your baby into this world.
Diluc was nothing but a saint throughout both of your pregnancies. However, while the first one was challenging for him too, because he was worried about the new role he'd have to fulfill and if he'd do it successfully, this one was easier on his end, so he channeled all his energy to you, being there for every step and every time you got overwhelmed, which, at first, happened way too often. Your other two kids used to be all over you asking questions about their unborn sibling, and while you love your angels to death, you truly do, - your hormones and their vigor sometimes created a bad mix. Luckily, it quickly got better, because Diluc took his time to explain to your boys why their mommy might be emotional or look really really tired, and that she isn't upset with them and they need to be more careful around her. After that, the three of them became your anchor, with boys cuddling to you quietly to soothe and console you every opportunity they had, and Diluc arranging everything for your utmost comfort.
With all of this you were determined to make this year's celebration of his birthday as amazing as every other you two shared. You weren't sure if you would have given birth already or still heavily pregnant when the 30th of April came, but you knew that in any outcome you'd be too exhausted to arrange anything. That is why you started your meticulous planning half-way into your pregnancy. Everything was a secret from Diluc, just as always, and he oh so tenderly smiled, whenever you tried to hide the notes you were making, only teasing you by stepping closer and hugging you from behind. But he was a fair man, he never glanced at your scribbles and plans, only burying his face in your hair and asking to stay like this with you and the baby for a little bit. It actually helped you to concentrate a little bit better.
In March the final version of your plan was already passed to the maids who'd be responsible for organizing and decorating, and you couldn't help but feel pride when they giggled and excitedly murmured upon checking your instructions. You did a great job.
But you must've also done something bad, if whatever gods of fertility above made it their goal to mess with your sleep schedule - the baby is way too active, keeping you awake at an ungodly hour, just like tonight. So exhausting…
You can feel movements behind your back and a moment later a pleasant warmth is spreading all over your stomach and back. A soft whine escapes your lips, but it’s quickly shushed by a quiet murmur next to your ear.
“Shh… My flame, it’s okay, I got you…” You hug a pillow in front of you tighter, burying your face in it, letting your husband cuddle to your back, keeping his palm spread over your bump. He always knows when the baby gets cranky, sometimes even before you feel it, ready to calm down both of you with the help of his presence and vision.
Pretty soon you feel comfy again, surrounded by pillows and a literal heater of a man, who peppers soft kisses along your bare shoulder. His heavy bangs tickle your skin, prompting the corner of your lips to twitch in a shadow of a smile; an arm, wrapped around your middle, doesn’t put any weight on your waist, perfectly controlled by sheer strength of its owner; his whole body becomes support to your back instead of a long pillow he removed previously to take its place and he playfully nudges your feet when you attempt to tangle your legs with his.. Oh, you love this man.
Suddenly a loud noise from the outside worms its way into your lulled conscience, and you flinch. Slowly your eyelids slide open and you groan quietly, ears catching a dissatisfied huff from the male beside you.
“I told them to be careful…” Diluc grumbles under his breath, but doesn’t leave his spot next to you, only lifting his hand slightly and starting to rub your stomach in soothing circles.
“Mmm… What time is it?” Pushing the pillow away you rub at your eyes, yawning. Your husband cranes his neck to look at the wall behind and hums.
“A little past ten.”
“Ten..? Oh no…” With a pout you kick some other pillows (and accidentally his legs) too, stifling another yawn with your hand. “I was supposed to wake up earlier for your special day… I am sorry I slept for so long.”
“Nonsense,” he digs his elbow in a mattress and lifts his upper body to reach for your cheek, smothering it with pecks. “You are nine months pregnant, my love. I would’ve let you sleep all day long, if I didn’t know you worked hard to make today exceptional for me.”
“Oh…” You sigh, finally blinking the sleep, that was clinging to your eyelids, off and throw an arm behind you, rolling your back a little, practically placing yourself on your husband, stretching with a content noise. Diluc sees an opportunity to wrap both arms around you, and carefully draw you even more on top of himself, face hidden in the side of your neck.
“Archons, you are pretty,” the heat engulfs your heart, born from his adoring tone, and spreads in tender waves through your whole being.
“Don’t you dare say having me in your arms is enough of a present for you,” your chiding makes him smile and shake his head.
“As much as that’s true, I won’t, for your sake,” you squint like a cat under the sun, when he places a kiss under your jaw. “Are you ready to get out of bed? Half an hour ago when I came downstairs, and immediately got kicked out by Adelinde, I managed to catch a glimpse of Kaeya and our sons. I am sure Callie and her mom have joined them by now too.”
“Oh, that’s great!” You widely smile, sleep forgotten as if the need in it was always non-existent. “Yes, I want to start getting ready. Please, help me, ‘luc.”
“With greatest pleasure.”
Letting the Alberich family spend the night was one of your greatest decisions made in preparations for Diluc’s birthday. There is no way to guess when throughout the day you might feel light-headed or tired, so them being at the Winery from the very morning till the very evening increases the chances to get an opportunity when all of you can enjoy the celebration together.
When you descend down the stairs, with Diluc practically glued to your sight, holding your arm to support, Kaeya’s face is the first one you spot among the others. He looks absolutely cozy with his pajama-like-looking pants, matching shirt and a knee-long robe, hanging on his shoulders untied. His face lights up with a smile, when his eye lands on you two, and he hands one of the maids nearby the box he’s been holding previously.
“Aren’t these our dear birthday boy and his lovely wife?” His voice is smooth, never lacking his ever-present teasing lilt, as he makes his way to you.
“Don’t make it look like you see me for the first time today,” Diluc grumbles, letting go of your hand, so you could give your brother-in-law a side hug.
“Oh? I am sorry, Diluc, but could I really tell Adelinde not to kick you out? My charms do not work on this amazing woman.”
“Because this woman raised you and is immune to said charms,” the woman in question appears behind the Cavalry Captain, with a sweet smile plastered on her face. “Come on, go help your wife - I don’t doubt she is skilled, but three kids are still a handful.”
“Haha, aren’t you subtle? If I didn’t know how much you adore me, I’d say you are kicking me out,” the star-shaped pupil twinkles with concealed merit, to which the head maid tenderly scoffs.
“Gotta make it even between the brothers,” she teases him back, and he gasps in pretense hurt, to which Diluc rolls his eyes, but a smug-looking smile doesn’t escape your sight.
“Sure, sure,” Kaeya jerks his chin up, still faking the offense, and turns around to leave. The woman shakes her head at his antics, short blond hair gently swaying, complimenting the fond look on her face. With one of her boys gone, she devotes her attention to the other, smiling apologetically.
“I am sorry for shoving you out the way I did, Master Diluc, but Lady Y/n really wanted to be here when you came to witness what she had planned for you. I hope you can forgive me for forbidding you from the first floor of your own house.”
“I can never be mad at you,” Diluc’s lips form a small smile as well, and he steps closer, gingerly embracing her. “After all, you raised me too.”
The older woman chuckles, patting his back, and your gaze softens. Every year you get lucky to see this display of special motherly affection, the one where you get sad a little, because your child grows older, further and further from the little boy you used to know and take care of, but you still are so happy for how far he managed to come. That’s what Adlinde’s face tells you every single year, those are the tears of joy that are brimming her summer-green eyes.
“Adelinde,” you softly call and she glances at you, with her arms still wrapped around her master’s, her kid’s broad back. “I haven’t had an opportunity to congratulate my husband yet, would you like to be the first this year?”
Vibrant eyes slightly widen, and then unspoken affection swirls in them.
“Thank you,” your heart skips a beat, crumbling under the sincerest gratitude the woman offers you for simply giving her such an opportunity.
She turns to Diluc again, and a small, delicate hand reaches up to brush away the fiery bangs that got even wilder as the man got older. A thumb runs over his cheekbone, feeling a small scar underneath, remembering, comparing to the pouty rosy cheek of a little boy, who used to cling to her skirt and seek her attention and advice, with that adorable sparkle in his warm ruby eyes and a wide grin with a tooth missing. Now a tall man is standing in front of her, who suffered many losses and hardships she couldn’t possibly protect him from, but who eventually found his happiness and found it in himself to fully enjoy it.
And that’s all she ever wished for him.
“Happy birthday, my boy,” her voice trembles with emotions, but she manages to get a hold of herself. The other hand comes to cup his other cheek and tilt his head down, so, standing on her toes, she could place a lingering kiss to his forehead. “Happy thirty eighth year of your life, my dawn. I am so proud of how far you’ve come and I wish for nothing more, but for your happiness to grow. I know your father would tell you the same.”
Oh, Archons. That last phrase made you emotional, hitting your poor heart even harder than the tender exchange between the two. And seeing the look on your husband’s face, the quiet hitch of his breath, the slight tremble of his lower lip and unspoken yearning in his flaming eyes, you have to silently excuse yourself from the scene, too scared to ruin the moment by your very possible waterworks. You’ll let the two have their moment, meanwhile you can see what your sons and brother-in-law’s family is up to.
You find the five of them in a separate room, which was long ago reconstructed and redecorated into something akin to a living room (additional wall was added to divide the hall part from this space to grant you and kids privacy if any partner of Diluc stopped by to discuss the matters with either him or Elzer). Both boys and the girl are sitting on the carpet-covered floor, vigorously discussing something - you even catch the pieces of the argument they’ve been having for months. Ever since the twins’ father agreed to consider getting them a dog, they and their older cousin could not shut up about what name the creature should have. At first it was cute, now it’s the reason for a headache, when the three of them cannot reach an agreement.
But the childish debate is quickly tuned out when you recognize the adorable new two-piece indoor outfits you purchased specifically for today. Your older son has the sleeves of his orange pullover rolled while he wildly gesticulates, the usual unruly mass of his untied hair swaying from side to side like a flame turned upside down. Lucas on the other hand has his cheek supported by his fist with an elbow digging in his knee, clad in yellow pants, and watches his brother and cousin with an 'I am so done with them' look, so uncommon for a six-year old, that it almost makes you snort. Callie, wearing similar in style pants and pullover, but sharing a pretty blue color with her father, is actively arguing with Rufus, however there is something different from the redhead's pure decisiveness. There are clearly some hints of Kaeya's mannerism, especially that quirk of her lips. What a cheeky twelve-year old.
“Y/n!”
Your attention is quickly drawn to the smiling woman, who is rising from the couch she’s been sharing with her husband just seconds ago. Mirroring her smile, you swiftly rub your eyes, getting rid of happy tears, caused by a scene at the bottom of the stairs.
“Are you okay?” Concern is laced in your friend’s tone, as she walks to you and puts her palms on your elbows in a comforting gesture. You only shake your head, making a small step closer, so you can give her a hug.
“Yeah, yeah, I am good, don’t worry. Just saw something very heart-warming.”
“Oh, alright,” she sighs in relief. “Are you hungry?"
Good question, actually. You concentrate on what your body feels and craves, softly rubbing your belly. No, still only the aching and ever-present fatigue.
"Not necessarily, but if you all haven't eaten yet, we can do it now. Diluc should soon join us, and after breakfast we can start our stay-inside party."
Your friend nods in agreement, squeezing your elbows affectionately, and then turns to look at the three kids still sitting on the floor, so engrossed in their conversation that they seem to not have even noticed you enter.
"Hey, kids,” only Lucas perks up at his aunt’s call, while Rufus and Callie keep arguing, ignoring everything around them. “Kids,” is said firmer, but still to no avail. As the younger twin gets up from the floor, you share a knowing look with the woman.
“Callie Alberich.”
“Rufus Ragnvindr.”
And as if by magic the conversation is cut short, two sets of worried eyes staring back at the unamused-looking moms.
“Good, we finally have your attention,” Mrs Alberich hums, taking your hand and leading you to the armchair, helping you to sit down. “Now, who’d be a dear and go to the kitchen to let the maids know they can serve breakfast?”
“I will, mom,” the girl says before Rufus can open his mouth and carefully pushes him and his brother in your direction. “You two, go say hi to your mama.”
Kaeya’s eye twinkles, when he easily guesses his daughter’s intentions, but keeps his mouth shut, watching his nephews practically sprint to their mom and climb onto the armrests.
“She went to congratulate uncle Diluc, didn’t she?” His wife quietly asks, taking a seat next to him, and the man only chuckles, wrapping an arm around her waist, bringing her even closer. Yeah, his girl really likes her uncle, adores even, which has been absolutely mutual from the moment the redhead was handed the small baby to hold for the first time. The Dawn Winery owner has always played an important role in the girl’s life, and before his sons were born, the man was absolutely wrapped around his niece’s finger. She doesn’t remember that, of course, but she does remember how she begged for cousins, and feels very proud of the fact, claiming that it’s because of her request uncle and aunt now have two cute boys, whom she really-really loves and enjoys spending time with, despite being twice as old as them.
But uncle is still her favorite out of the whole Ragnvindr family. So getting first to the man and wishing him a happy birthday is an absolute must.
“I am sure she won’t forget about breakfast,” Kaeya hums eventually, focusing on his sister-in-law and nephews, who, in their orange and yellow costumes paired with the color of their hair, remind him of two little candlelights.
“I love the cozy style you decided on for the clothes,” he comments, drawing your attention from twins, who settled against the sides of your stomach, resting their heads on your shoulders.
“Really?” An excited smile worms its way onto your face. “I am glad you think so! I thought they were perfect for spending the day inside."
"They are!" Mrs Alberich claps her hands together. "I adore this pretty dress and yours looks so wonderful too! The fabric is very soft, when I put it on this morning I thought I was hugged by a fluffy cloud. Oh, what color does Diluc have by the way?"
"Papa has gray" Rufus chimes, before reaching out to your stomach to gently pat it. "Mama, did you get the baby one too?"
"I did, Ru," you reassure him, remembering the cute white onesie you decided to purchase on a whim to match the vibe. "Soon she or he will be able to wear it."
"Speaking of the baby, you've never told us the name you picked. Is that a secret?"
"It really isn't,” your tone is soft, and your gaze is tender, as you look down at your belly. “We do have a small list, but our decision was to choose when the baby is born. We agree on every name on that list, and Diluc believes it's just going to click which one is perfect when we see them, just like it happened with these two," you turn your head from side to side, kissing each boy's cheek, making them squeal happily. In reality it was a little bit different.
Obviously you didn't expect to have twins, so your list was created on the basis of eventually picking only one name. But when there appeared to be two babies, two little boys, everything had to be reconsidered. You and your husband (surprisingly more him than you) thought it'd be cute if there was something that would show their twinly bond. That's when it clicked quickly - Diluc came up with Rufus and you did so with Lucas, affectionately calling them Ru and Lu. This time you also considered different kinds of name combinations for possible outcomes, but ultimately decided to let the future tell.
"Okay, that's fair," Kaeya smiles, putting his cheek on top of his wife's head - the woman made herself comfortable on his shoulder, watching you and your sons with a sweet smile of her own. "Promise to invite us over when you feel strong enough to have visitors to meet another member of the Ragnvindr family?"
"Of course, I promise, Kae. And you'll be the first ones to kno- aaah!"
Everyone in the room jumps when a sharp cry of discomfort escapes you. Unwrapping your arms from around the twins, you lean forward and clutch your stomach. Surprised, the boys get down onto the floor and move right in front of you, worry evident on their faces. You mean to reach out to comfort your babies, to reassure him, but another surge of pain prevents you from doing so, and you groan, hands still on the stomach. Kaeya is next on his feet, closely followed by his wife, and just a second later the man scoops both redheads in his arms, while your female friend crouches before you, with both palms on your knees.
"Kaeya, boys - out. I'll handle it."
"But mama is hurt-," Lucas tries, not taking his eyes off of your curled figure, as his brother attempts to wrestle his way out of his uncle’s hold. Both look panicked, and the Cavalry Captain has to gently shush both of them, pressing their bodies even closer to his chest..
“Don’t worry, she is alright and she will be alright when we return, okay? Now, let’s go and find your father-”
“Oh.”
The man stumbles over his words, hearing a surprised noise, and immediately glances up at you, met with an expression of total disbelief.
“Archons, what is it? Y/n, please, don’t scare us like tha-”
“I think my water just broke.”
He barely holds himself back from cursing in front of his little nephews. His wife, on the other hand, is as cool as a cucumber, absolutely unphased, with not even an ounce of worry present on her face or in her actions. She rises from her crouched position and turns to look at her husband, who in a second became an anxious wreck, as if it is his beloved who is having contractions.
“Love,” she speaks calmly, “take the boys, find Callie and Diluc and get the kids ready to go out for a walk. Also ask someone to inform the midwife that Y/n has possibly gone into labor. And for the Seven’s sake, don’t dump this information onto your brother as if someone is dying, we don’t need a panicked dad right now.”
“Got it,” his legs start moving even before he thinks about it, and with two boys held in a death grip, Kaeya runs out of the room. He startles a couple of maids in the hall, along with Diluc, who’s just walked out of the kitchen, holding his niece’s hand. The hero of today’s occasion lifts his eyebrows, staring at the disheveled form of his brother, and an uneasy feeling starts rising in his chest when he notices the barely concealed panic in his periwinkle eye.
“Kaeya, what’s going on?”
“Okay, birthday boy, I need you to stay calm no matter what I tell you now, alright?"
"Are you sure you are the one to tell me to stay calm?" Red brows meet together in an alarmed manner. "What's gotten into you? Where are our wives?"
Another sharp cry, easily recognised as yours, is heard from the living room, and in a quieted hall everyone is finally becoming aware of something going on, something very unplanned.
"Um, so, as I said, stay calm, 'luc. However hard it is to believe, your wife might’ve gone into labor.”
“What!?”
Loud gasps of the maids fall almost deaf to Diluc’s ears when he hears the news. Immediately one of the girls chirps that she’ll go find the midwife and quickly scurries away, while two more run upstairs to go and check the room specifically prepared for such an occasion. Someone steps up and takes Callie, bringing her with Kaeya and twins somewhere else, but honestly, the redhead doesn’t notice it. The only thing his mind keeps repeating is that his wife needs him.
When he bursts into the living room you’ve already gotten onto your feet, one hand gripping Mrs Alberich’s shoulder and the other pressed to your stomach. The grimace on your face and heavy breathing is an evidence itself of your state, and Diluc appears at your side in a flash of gray and crimson, wrapping an arm around your back.
“My flame, keep breathing. Everything is alright,” his deep voice is comforting and you lean your forehead into his chest, whimpering.
You nod, letting go of your friend’s shoulder, and Diluc takes it as an opportunity to lift you in his arms - there is no way he’s making you walk, especially when the point of your destination is the second floor. You do not even complain, instead focusing on trying to relax the best you can, exercising proper breathing and counting.
“I am so sorry, ‘luc. I wanted this day to be special and now I am ruining it…”
“No, you are not,” he says firmly, pressing a kiss to the top of your head. “Rather you are making it even more special. I know you worked hard, but I also know that all of it won’t go anywhere and we’ll have a moment to enjoy it properly afterwards. You are much more important right now, so let’s get you to the bedroom.”
Kaeya was right - it is hard to believe. Of course, it’s not clear yet, it still could be just false labor pains, but never in his entire life could Diluc imagine that one of his kids would be born on the same day he was. When he lays you down onto the bed with pristine white sheets and lets the midwife examine you, the heart in his chest is going absolutely crazy. He can’t bear to see that painful look on your face, how your pretty eyes squint and teeth are gritted, but he will rather fall dead in that same room, than leave it, leave you without his support.
You lift your hand and reach for him. Someone pushes a chair closer and he sits down, grasping your sweating hand with both of his and suddenly a memory flashes before his eyes. It’s been twenty years and he thought he has healed, but the rainy day and a man’s big hand he was clasping in his own come back to haunt him. His mind starts screaming. What if something goes wrong? What if he loses someone dear to him again? What if it’s the last time he feels the warm touch of the person who brought him out of his misery? What if it’s the last time he hears your voice and the distressed tone of it is what he’ll remember you like? Please, no, whoever is listening, don’t do it, don’t take you and the baby away from him, please, don't-
“Diluc,” his eyes snap open and he becomes painfully aware that he is shaking. But it's not about him, despite what day it is today. Right now everything is about you.
Inhaling deeply and sharply exhaling, he blinks away the images of the past and focuses on your face instead. It’s not twisted in pain now, instead you are smiling at him, the adoration in your eyes unmistakable and the squeeze you give his fingers is sobering.
“Did you hear that? It’s actually happening. My water actually broke. Our baby will be here soon. I can’t promise I won’t curse you back and forth like during the first time, but I’ll really try.”
At that moment, pushing the dread aside and leaning forward to press a sweet reassuring kiss to your lips, the man thinks that if it was legally allowed he’d marry you again.
It’s been a couple of hours since the Alberich couple left the Winery with all of the kids. It took Kaeya awhile to calm the boys down, while Callie remained uncharacteristically quiet, glancing at her mom from time to time, because her mother always knows what is going on, but this time, for some reason, isn't telling her.
Eventually both adults managed to persuade the three of them that they are on a mission to get some lovely flowers for Diluc and you - they made sure to pick different kinds that do not grow together for the process to take more time. Fortunately, it brought smiles back onto those cute little faces, and the couple let out a sigh of relief, watching their daughter and nephews, as the group went from one location to another. Lucas, being a dear he is, suggested that mom and dad deserved the biggest bouquets ever and Rufus doubled it, so now they are indeed on a mission to gather as many flowers as they can.
Making a pretty big circle, the five of them returned close to the Winery - but not quite. Settling near the Statue of the Seven, Kaeya stays to watch over the kids picking up windwheel asters and guard the bouquets they’ve already managed to create. The location allows him to oversee the vast grounds that belong to the Ragnvindr family, but also observe his wife’s figure getting smaller and smaller, but closer and closer to the main building. It was decided that soon everyone would get hungry, so she went to bring some food, but also to check on the situation at hand.
The sun hangs high in the sky and Kaeya squints in delight, letting the warm rays caress his face. Ah, what a wonderful day… With a puff of air he sits down and immediately lays his back on the soft ground, cracking his eye open. Not a cloud in sight, only the magnificent blue hues surrounding the brightest star, that’s the sight his brother deserves to have on his birthday - what a pity he can’t see it, stuck inside due to unplanned, though long-awaited, circumstances.
It is a perfect day for the twins’ sibling to be born, and for a brief moment a thought passes the Cavalry Captain’s mind - that maybe it’s the final step for Diluc to heal from all the pain and sorrow that whole 18th birthday situation caused him. Of course, it’s hard to tell, it was a seemingly endless nightmare after all, but he hopes for it, for this bundle of joy that is the redhead's third child to overshadow the loss of their father on this exact date.
Deep in his thoughts he doesn’t notice how Rufus comes closer, dividing equally the amount of flowers he’s gotten, putting one half in his dad’s pile and the other in mom’s one. Then he steps even closer, casting a small shadow across his uncle’s chest. Kaeya snaps out of it only when he feels a soft nudge, head turning and seeing that the boy carefully pushed the tips of his sandal against the lying man’s ribcage.
“What is it, Ru?” His voice sounds a bit lazy, but at least there is not even a hint of his initial panic - worry would only provoke the twins to feel concerned about the scene in the living room all over again, and he doesn't want that, their parents wouldn't want that.
The little flame in front of him watches closely with wide eyes, which in combination with wild red hair makes him look like a fluffed up owlet.
Totally Diluc’s kid.
“We picked a lot of flowers… When are we coming home? I wanna see mama and papa. And also I’m hungry…”
“Yeah, dad, me too,” Callie pops behind her cousin, staring at Kaeya with bright eyes. She’s holding a mix of windwheel asters and sweet flowers, and the keen dark eye spots a small ladybug crawling up one of the stems. Equally small white lie wouldn't hurt.
“Your aunt is setting an additional surprise right now,” yeah, that’s literally the best explanation he can give them, “but this one takes time, and we need to be patient for her, okay?”
“But if it’s a surprise, why did Uncle Diluc stay? Doesn’t make sense,” His daughter is too sharp sometimes, but that’s why he is proud of her.
“This one requires his presence, so she doesn’t have to worry about messing up. I believe you’ll like it, so let’s give them time. As for the lunch - our precious Snowflake will soon bring us something to eat.”
“Don’t call mom that in front of me,” Callie grumbles, kicking his hip, and the man gasps, hand immediately flying to grab the assaulted place.
“But snowflakes are pretty!” Lucas, who appeared somewhen during the conversation, stares at the older girl in confusion. “They are very pretty and have unique forms… Your mom is pretty and unique too!”
“I know she is, but sometimes it’s just argh. Oh! Doesn’t your father call your mother ‘my flame’?”
“Yes, he does,” Rufus confirms with a nod, sitting down onto the ground. Kaeya turns onto his side, ignoring the dull pain and supports his cheek with a fist. Well, this is amusing~
“Don’t you find it a little too much sometimes?” Both twins shake their heads, red bangs bouncing with the motion, and the girl sighs in exasperation. “Wait till you are as old as I am, you’ll realize how cringe it is.”
“What’s ‘cringe’?”
Kaeya snorts. It’s funny when a twelve-year old speaks of her age with such intonation. It never ceases to amaze him how well his daughter adapted in the role of an older sibling to her cousins. She quickly realized her leading position and it was and still is very clear in her attitude, especially right now, as she is educating them on the meaning of the word 'cringe'. She cares for them a lot though, so he can hardly find a situation where she abused her power in the dynamic the three of them have. Besides, both Rufus and Lucas are far from stupid - probably ones of the brightest kids he’s ever had encounters with, and already have their opinions, so despite loving and admiring Callie they still can fight her back verbally. The only difference is that this is Rufus’ style of handling arguments with her, while Lucas prefers more tranquil approaches. Watching the three interact, Kaeya can't help but wonder what kind of personality would the baby develop.
Ah, it’s going to get so much livelier~
It’s another half an hour, during which he sneakily stole the spotlight from his girl and entertained the kids with made-up, but attention-grabbing stories. His wife's arrival catches them all by surprise - just like everything else about her, as she shouts their names and waves at them the best she can with a basket hanging off of her elbow. She is not alone though. With delight overtaking their expressions, kids spot the most loving and kind (obviously favorite) maid at her side holding the rest of the baskets Mrs Alberich couldn’t carry on her own. Kaeya hasn't even sat up yet, and the kids are already speeding in her direction.
“Addieeeee!”
Overjoyed, in an instant they are all over her and the woman gently laughs, settling down the baskets and staying in a crouched position to hug all of them. As she is telling them to help her with unfolding the blanket, Kaeya rises to his feet, right in time to put his arms loosely around his wife's waist to press a kiss to the corner of her mouth.
"Thanks for the food and bringing additional help," he murmurs, smooching her again and taking the baskets away. Freed arms encircle his neck and soft lips press against his in return, stealing the man's breath away.
"Don't mention it. Adelinde figured we might need her, and she is right, personally I am at my wit's end," she sighs, glancing behind to make sure the kids are occupied with the task the head maid gave them. "As for the news - everything is going smoothly so far, but it'll take some more hours. Other maids suggested visiting Springvale or maybe going to the City, and I agree."
"Yes, that sounds reasonable…" Kaeya hums, inwardly admitting that some remaining weight has just been lifted off of his shoulders. "You think we'll have to return in the morning or…?"
"No. Before we left, Adelinde checked in with Diluc - apparently he'll send his falcon to deliver a message once everything is over."
Ah, yes… the falcon his brother personally trained once again just a couple of years ago after the passing of his very first winged companion. And once again Kaeya was that one person the bird will always find, no matter where he is.
"Delightful. Then let us have our lunch. What you've got there, hm?"
"What was supposed to be put for the celebratory breakfast we all missed. It'd be such a pity if the food went to waste, wouldn't it?"
"True," the Cavalry Captain sighs and, adjusting his hold on the baskets, leads both of them to the rest of their little group. “What a chaotic morning…”
The drawn together heavy curtains do not let a ray of a settling sun into the quiet room. The crimson painting the sky is undoubtedly beautiful, mesmerizing even, but no one dares to disturb your rest with a blazing color. The smell of freshly cleaned bedding is appeasing, but the fluffed up pillows that have the scent of your husband clinging to them is your main source of comfort - you faintly remember it, but you are sure of nearly snarling at whoever suggested changing the linen for them too before bringing you to the master’s bedroom. Poor maid must’ve been so scared, you’ll have to apologize to her later…
The slight guilt sparked by the memory is what makes you pass the line between dream and consciousness. You force your heavy eyelids open, but immediately squint a little from the light of the candles on the walls. A soft groan escapes your throat and you drop your head to the side, hiding from the light and blinking to make the eyes adjust. Succeeding in it, you take a quick look around the room, wondering if you were left alone to repose, or someone remained to monitor your condition.
That’s when you spot him. Or rather the gorgeous mane of ruby hair, shiny in the candlelight, thrown in a proper high ponytail, streaming down his upper back. He’s changed his clothes too - there is a hazy recollection of someone telling him to go and do so, and what a nice view it is, to see the gray pajama pants and pullover to be replaced with dark cherry - almost blackish - shirt, carmine vest and dark pants. But that’s not the most pleasing sight. Your heart almost melts, when the standing man turns around and you see a bundle of blankets delicately held in his strong arms. Vibrant eyes show every single emotion Diluc feels, looking at your baby. There is pure joy, happiness, bliss, love, promises to protect, to care, to cherish, to make every single day of life important and special. It’s so similar to the scene of nearly seven years ago, but without your husband bawling his eyes out with both arms occupied by twins. Well, maybe he did, a little, when you were resting, but you’ll never know.
You observe them for a little longer, the picture so perfect, you regret not having a Kamera in your hands right now to imprint a moment in a photo. Though you doubt you’d have strength to lift the thing enough to snap one and not make it blurry, so, just watching would suffice for now.
However Diluc’s senses are sharp, and when someone stares at him for longer than a couple of seconds - he knows. The warmth of the tamed flames seeps right through the eye contact, penetrating every cell in your body with welcomed heat. That may be the trick of the light, but his dark pupils dilate upon looking at you, and the blush creeps to your cheeks. Damn this man and him giving you looks like you are the whole world.
“Hey, love,” you softly call, the sound blending into the tender atmosphere, becoming a part of it, becoming Diluc’s source of oxygen for a brief second.
“Hello, my flame,” his voice can hardly mask the adoration and eagerness, with which he takes his next actions, makes it clear how excited he was for you finally awakening. With light steps he moves to the bed and carefully bends down. The touch of his lips is gentle, yet the feeling hidden behind it steals your breath away and your own lips part. Diluc murmurs something about wanting to give you so many kisses to compensate for the hours you spent in labor, and you breathlessly laugh at his adorable confession.
“It’s alright, ‘luc. Besides you are such a beautiful sight for a sore eye, how can I complain when my husband is all dressed up for me?”
“Oh, my flame,” his tone is oh so silken. “You are the beautiful one here. You looked so serene in your sleep, and now you shine like the brightest star.”
“Oh, stop that, I am sure I look like hell.”
“Not at all,” he shakes his head, long and fluffy bangs barely swaying. “You are wonderful. But how are you feeling? Need anything? Maybe you’d like to rest a bit more? I’ll take care of everything for you.”
You know he will, and this is one of the reasons that make him a great husband and an amazing father.
“No, no, I am fine, I feel better. It’s finally over. Our son is here.”
Yes, your son is here. Are you surprised it’s a boy again? Not really, there always was a gut feeling your older sons would have a little brother as their sibling, and by the red hairs you spotted when the baby was passed to you for the first time there is now a solid confirmation that Ragnvindr genes are insane.
“I want to hold him. May I?”
Without answering your question directly, Diluc carefully places the baby on the free space on the bed and helps you to adjust the pillows and sit up. Then the boy is instantly in your arms and Diluc kicks his shoes off to climb next to you. The sides of your heads touch, and you smile when his big hand is placed under yours, to provide additional support.
Your son is sleeping. So tiny and wrapped in all those blankets he is so peaceful. You swallow harshly to fight the tears back and shakily sigh, rapidly blinking. Rough fingers move your hairs away from your face and lovingly caress your cheek, reminding you that everything is okay.
“You did so well, my love… You are incredible, you know that?”
A choked chuckle erupts from your mouth and you sniffle.
“I am, am I not? But it’s also a miracle that he decided to come out right on your birthday.”
The man presses the firmest kiss he’s given you this evening to your temple and wraps his free arm around your shoulders, bringing you even closer. The thumping of his heart is palpable and makes you want to cry again.
“You know…” lifting your head, you come face to face with your husband, and there is a smile playing on his lips, one that is both bright and a bit melancholic. “Now there is one more reason to look forward to my birthday. To celebrate mine with you all and to celebrate his like that too.”
“Oh, we can have two parties!” You beam, closing your eyes and picturing it in your head. “Yours would be obviously in the morning, and his would be in the evening- oh, Ru and Lu would be so delighted to have two cakes to eat instead of one,” you share a soft laugh. Which actually reminds you…
“Have you sent anyone to notify them they can come home? I feel so bad that they had to spend your birthday away from you…”
“Don’t worry, dear. The message has been delivered and they should soon be here. And there is always tomorrow to start with the party all over again. I believe it was a smart decision to get kids out of the house. You know how protective twins are around you - they would’ve worried themselves out of their minds.”
You have to admit that Diluc is right - no need for your boys and niece to hear you scream and curse whoever was present for hours, and you can trust the Alberich family to keep them safe and entertained.
“Well then, if everything else is settled, my heart and mind are at peace… But we still have one important thing to do. The name. And before we go down the list, may I suggest something, please?”
“You are the mother, you have the most say in it,” his words make you lift an eyebrow at him, yet he only smiles. Shaking your head you poke your nose into his cheek.
“What a gentleman you are…"
"That's what my dad told my mom," he says as if in his defense. "And I agree with him on that one - after all, it's you who carried him for nine months and kept him healthy."
"Alright, alright, I could speak of all the ways you provided for me so I could do that, but I know you won't accept this kind of praise. Okay, I will have a say in it," Diluc scoffs, but you only give him a teasing wink. "Speaking of your parents, remember how you told me that your mother chose the name ‘Diluc’, because you were born in the early hours of dawn?” He nods, fondness reflecting in his eyes. “She also did it, because your father’s name means ‘twilight’, ‘dusk’ and she wanted them to match, right?” He nods again, but this time it’s confusion and a bit of hurt that are hiding behind his crimson pools of fire. Still holding the baby, you do your best to interlace your fingers with his, still supporting your hand, and the redhead takes notice of it, helping you, until there is a nice hold on each other's digits.
Swallowing thickly you take a deep breath to calm your nerves. Diluc would never be mad at you, but what you are going to suggest next is pretty huge.
"It's not on the list, but I took interest in this one when we were researching. The main meaning of this name is 'Sun'. However, there were languages that gave it a slightly different meaning, let's say, time-specific? And now, since our son was born on the 30th of April and almost at sunset, I thought that this one might be perfect. It's… It's Cyrus. And it can have the meaning of 'dusk', 'twilight', just like your father's name does."
The clock on the wall is ticking and that's the only sound in the room. You can barely hear your hearts beating or air entering and leaving your lungs, but your mind is in a race against itself, and you start second-guessing that maybe giving him a big reminder about that day was a mistake. Diluc’s been healing, you know that, you’ve been here all these years to witness his progress and be proud of him, but it still must hurt. His silence is worrying, but despite your own nervousness you give him time to process, to let the thought sink in and register what exactly you are implying.
You spend a few minutes quietly. Your husband never loosens his hold on your shoulders, and it soothes you when his thumb starts rubbing over your knuckles absent-mindedly. His warm breath caresses your skin, lulling your alerted senses to the point of tranquility, and you sigh audibly, lowering your head on his shoulder. And then you finally hear him speak again.
“Cyrus… It’s a lovely name. I… I really like it. No, I love it.”
“Yeah?” A soft murmur of your question sends a wave of delight to the man’s swelling heart. “You do?”
“I do. I think it’s perfect. But…are you really sure you want to honor my father?”
“He meant a lot to you, ‘luc,” you straighten up and turn to have a better view of the redhead. There are unshed tears clinging to his thick lashes and he doesn’t even blink, looking down at your son. “Listen, my love,” carefully sliding one hand from beneath the baby’s body you bring it to Diluc’s cheek, making him face you, making him gulp and lean into your open palm, “I too think it’s perfect, and maybe, just maybe, the birth of our son today is your dad’s sign to move on. Master Crepus would want that for you, I am sure, and passing on a small fracture of him to this boy would close this chapter forever. What do you think?”
“I think that I love you so-so much…”
His lips are scorching, kissing yours with feverish urgency. Tears roll down his flushed cheeks, but you brush them away the best you can, not minding the salty taste of the kiss. Diluc Ragnvindr has his chest open for you, for your hands to hold his beating heart, for them to take care of it. This pure joy that sets his soul aflame is overpowering, all-consuming, and he is more than ready to let it swallow him whole, if only you keep loving him the way you’ve been all these many years.
When he parts from you, the redhead nearly chokes and starts coughing from all the sobs he held back. Your fingers are deft, threading through his thick locks, gently scratching his scalp, as his forehead is pressed to yours. You remind him to breathe.
“And I love you too, Diluc. I always will.”
”Thank you.”
You smile, peppering his face with kisses, whispering the sweetest words of affection. He wants to tell you something, he even opens his mouth, but a sudden knock on the door interrupts him. Your eyes dart to the heavy wood blocking the entrance to your bedroom.
“Master Diluc?” It’s hushed, but still audible. “We spotted young masters, Sir Kaeya’s family and Miss Adelinde from the window. They will be here soon, should we ask them to wait?”
Your husband clears his throat, coughing in his fist, and then glances at your figure to check if you look good enough to receive so many people at once. You simply mouth an “I am fine”. It seems enough to assure him.
“No, Hillie,” your husband speaks louder. “Y/n is awake, so once everyone arrives, please, bring them here. And make arrangements for dinner.”
“Yes, Master!”
Diluc sighs when the hurried steps can no longer be heard and kisses you once more. The baby in your hold starts stirring and you return your free arm back around him, bringing the boy closer to your chest.
“Will you be fine, if I leave you alone with Cyrus for a moment?” Him already using the name reduces your heart to a puddle and you cannot fight the huge grin.
“We will, my love, don’t worry. Go wash your face, I’ll feed him in the meantime.”
With a nod he bends to kiss his son’s forehead and then peck you on the cheek, climbing out of the bed after that and disappearing in the bathroom.
Fortunately, you had a solid half an hour before your sons and guests returned. In that time you managed to feed Cyrus, lull him back to sleep and pass the boy to a much calmer and collected Diluc, who carefully placed him in a crib.
Upon your suggestion, the man steps out of the bedroom to meet everyone downstairs, and warn the kids about being quiet. Every maid he meets on the way beams at him with a smile, congratulating and asking if their Lady is alright and if she needs anything. Their eagerness to assist his wife with anything she might need and excitement they feel for the fact Ragnvindr family has just grown in number is heart-warming, and Diluc allows himself a small smile, as he answers them the best he can.
When he reaches the hall of the first floor it’s just on time to witness Adelinde closing the massive doors and locking them. Two balls of red immediately sprint to him and he barely has time to crouch and catch his elder sons. They start whining and pouting for missing the whole day with their dad and he kisses their round cheeks, promising to hold a proper celebration later.
“Hmph, you better!” Rufus scoffs, lightly punching his father’s shoulder. “But today is not over yet, right?”
Diluc nods, patting their heads affectionately, ruffling crimson locks. Then twins glance at each other and simultaneously inhale.
“Happy birthday, dad! We love you!”
“I love you too, fireflies,” he hums, straightening up and lifting both of them in his arms. “Thank you for your kind words, I appreciate them.”
“We brought you and mom bouquets! Callie helped too,” Lucas chirps, pointing to two big bunches of flowers in Kaeya’s and his wife’s arms. The redhead lifts his eyebrows, to which his brother only shrugs.
“This is wonderful, kids. I love them, and I know your mom would adore them too.”
“Oh, can we go see her?”
“Why isn’t she with you?”
“Dad said she was preparing a surprise, where is it?”
Bombarded with questions, flying from three directions, Diluc is reminded of why he came down here in the first place.
“Kids,” the seriousness in his voice stops the stream of interrogation. Three sets of eyes are glued to his face. “I am going to tell you something very important and I need you to listen, alright? Now we all are going to go to my and mom’s bedroom. There you’ll have to be quiet, okay? No screaming, no squealing, no arguments, no running around, got it? Your mother is very tired, and someone who’s also waiting for you there may start crying if you disturb him.”
Mrs Alberich gasps, widely smiling, and turns to her husband, whispering in his ear.
”It’s another boy!”
Children on the other hand look utterly confused, but they do know when the look on the Dawn Winery owner’s face shows he is not kidding. This sounds so mysterious, and while puzzled they are dying to know what’s going on. And without acting the way their dad/uncle asks they will not find out what it is.
“Okay, we understand. We will be quiet.”
“Thank you,” he bends down again to put his sons back onto the floor and glances behind at his staff. “Someone, take these flowers and put them in vases in the living room. Kids, go wash your hands.”
"Yes, Master Diluc!"
When the door to the bedroom opens, you wave to everyone with a soft smile, cozying among the many pillows again.
"Mama!" Twins exclaim in whispers, tiptoeing to the bed and climbing up to hug you. "We missed you so much… How are you? Why are you in bed?"
"Tired," you simply explain, smooching their cute little noses and hugging them as tightly as you could. Suddenly, Lucas's eyes fall to your stomach - or rather to where it was just hours ago.
"Mom… where is the baby?" He asks, patting around the blanket, and indeed discovering the belly's absence. Rufus lowers his gaze to confirm his brother's words and then looks at you and after that at Diluc, who's just quietly closed the door shut.
"Dad, what did you do to the baby?"
"Nothing."
"When where-?"
He stops when you tap his shoulder and, once both boys' attention is yours again, point to the crib standing close to the side of the bed. Callie, who's been watching all along, has her interest picked, and steps to the little bed from the other side, as her cousins crawl across the mattress. With six hands grabbing at the wooden edges and six eyes glancing inside, the room falls quiet again for a few moments. Kaeya walks to you and gives you a hug, kissing your forehead and congratulating you with a new addition to the family.
"It's funny isn't it?" He murmurs. "Now you don't need to invite us another time to meet the newborn."
You laugh at that. As he moves away your co-sister-in-law is quick to take his place, embracing you and pecking your cheek, also congratulating you and teasing for once again being a boy’s mom. Diluc meanwhile has taken place by his niece’s side, gently smoothing her hair back, observing the kids’ reaction.
It’s Lucas who opens his mouth first.
“So… this is our sibling?”
“Yes, Lu. This is your little brother.”
“He sure is little,” Rufus drawls, “I’d even say tiny. Were we this tiny too?”
“You were,” Callie butts her way in a conversation. “I was your age when I saw you two for the first time. Though I couldn’t hold both of you in my arms, you were heavy. You are still heavy, hehe.”
“We are not-!”
“Shh,” Diluc presses a finger to his lips, and the kids slam their palms over their mouths. “Remember what I asked you about? No fighting, or he will wake up and start crying.”
“Sorry, dad…”
“Sorry, Uncle Diluc…”
You snort at the little exchange, watching your family fondly, thinking that you wouldn’t have it any other way.
“Hey, brother,” Kaeya joins the other man and grabs his shoulder, squeezing in an affectionate gesture, “Congrats. Both with your and your son’s birthday.”
Diluc nods, lifting his own hand, patting the one resting on his shoulder.
“Oh, right!” The older twin’s eyes sparkle at the realization and he stares up at his dad. “Does it mean you share a birthday with him?”
“Yes, I do, Ru. Does it bother you?”
“Are you kidding me? Dad, that’s so cool! Me and Lucas always have each other for our birthday, he would have you for his!”
“Also it means two cakes,” the other six-year old murmurs under his breath, and Diluc nearly chuckles - you do know your boys too well. It also lifts a weight he wasn’t aware of off his chest - it seems like he was a bit worried, if twins would feel jealous of the fact their dad’s and sibling’s birthdays are on the same date. But since they are cool with it - he is more than cool too.
“Speaking of him,” Mrs Alberich manages to take a peek into a crib too, aw-ing at the fact it’s a red-haired baby again, “have you chosen a name already?”
“We did,” scarlet eyes stare right into your soul through yours, and you mirror Diluc’s proud smile. “His name is Cyrus. Cyrus Ragnvindr.”
“Cyrus, hmm…” Kaeya purses his lips in thought, as if examining the name in and out, like some kind of a linguist. “Diluc, Rufus, Lucas and Cyrus… Yeah, fits right in.”
“Not as well as Cherry №3 I bet,” Callie smirks at the twins, to which, keeping in mind the promise they gave their dad, they only stick their tongues at her.
“I told you the name was perfect,” your husband reminds you with a soft chuckle.
“Oh, wait!” The eye-patch wearer snaps his fingers without actually making a snapping sound. “DiLUc and LUcas, RUfus and CyRUs… You now have two Lu’s and two Ru’s!”
“Oh Archons, I didn’t realize that,” with wide eyes you stare back at him. “That’s so cute!”
“Can we call him Cy?” Lucas pulls away from the little bed, and sits back on the mattress properly.
“I think it is indeed a short form for his name,” you nod, feeling so relieved about how smoothly everything has been going. Yeah, surely the birthday party didn’t go as planned, but on the other hand you finally have your boy, and your other boys look pretty happy after meeting their younger brother. So it’s all wonderful.
Or maybe you are too fast to judge.
“Uncle Diluc, Aunt Y/n,” you are surprised, when your niece calls you both, and glance at the oldest kid in the room inquiringly. To your surprise her face is expressionless, or at least she is trying to keep it this way, because your husband can clearly see barely-hidden mischief lighting up her eyes. She waits when her silence draws attention of the rest of the people to her persona and then, with the same straight face, says something that immediately sends her father choking on a silent laughter.
“Next time I want a girl cousin.”
Dumbfounded, Diluc, you and her mother stare at the girl with jaws going slack, while Kaeya is nearly dying from suppressing his violent coughing, bent in half and shaking. Not letting it crack her act, she holds her head high and heads right towards the door, feigning nonchalance with her graceful posture and slow steps.
“I will go and ask about the dinner. That's all.”
And just like that she leaves you all once again under the pretense of checking on with the kitchen staff. Mrs Alberich is the first one to snap out of the collective stupor and, shaking her head, grabs Kaeya’s elbow to drag him out of the room. Diluc is next, inhaling deeply, wondering why he is even surprised by her antics. He notices how the twins kind of lost interest in watching a baby that is doing literally nothing, so he ushers the boys to a very important mission - to make sure that their dad’s favorite meal is cooked, which they take with all seriousness.
And once more it’s only him, you, and little Cyrus, sleeping peacefully in his bed. You watch thick scarred fingers unbutton the vest and peel it off, hanging it on the back of the chair. Same fingers brush his bangs away and he sighs again, making eye contact with you. He smiles and you smile too.
“As much as I love this girl, I’ll have to disappoint her.”
“I agree, love,” the man is at your side again, an arm snaking around your shoulders and pressing you into him. “I admit, I would’ve loved to have a sweet girl looking just like you, but judging by the looks of our sons... Who knows how many attempts it’ll take, and I am not risking your health anymore.”
“You are so sweet,” you swoon, lacing your fingers together and squeezing his hand. “I love you for that. Are you sure that this is enough?”
“It always was enough. From the moment it was just you and me it was already enough. You simply tripled this happiness.”
“We tripled this happiness.”
“We will.”
“Yes, we did. And we will keep it that way.”
You lean close to kiss him, but, before he can reciprocate, start kissing all over his face, wherever your current position allows you to reach. Your partner keens on your affectionate attack, lowering his head on purpose, so you have more skin to cover with your lips, and since it brings you so much satisfaction, you do not stop until a thought, that you are forgetting something, is at the front of your mind.
“I just realized that I am the only one who has not wished you a happy birthday today. So… Happy birthday, Diluc. I love you very-very much. Sorry I am not very creative this year.”
“I think the little boy sleeping over there would beg to differ,” your husband nods at the crib, making you pout, but is quick to kiss it away. “I love you too, Y/n. Thank you for everything. This birthday was as perfect as any other you spent with me.”
“And I will make sure to make it perfect every single year ahead of us, my glorious Dawn. Should we wish a happy birthday to our little Dusk as well? I think I heard Kaeya briefly congratulate him, I want to do it too!”
You are so adorable when excitement is written all over you, and it's hard not to give in to your sparkling eyes, especially when he wants the same thing you do.
“We absolutely should. Let’s do it together, alright?”
The sky is painted black outside, and the second floor of the Winery is quiet, when in the comfort of one of its rooms three sweet words are spoken in two voices with such love and devotion, only parents can have for their child.
“Happy birthday, Cyrus.”
And maybe the winds would pick these words and carry them through the time to the one, and, stroking his short red beard, he would smile and say that the Dawn and the Dusk were always meant to be together.

This was meant to be a mainly art blog but my diluc and kaeya brainrot is too strong and I somehow ended up writing a whole ass essay on how deeply I feel for these 2 boys and their story.
Thinking about diluc and kaeya again, about how kaeya was shy as a child always in dilucs shadow, about how diluc was the cheerful one, about how he must have been such a good and kind older brother. Maybe that's why kaeya is such a good older brother to all of mondstadt's kids. Thinking of little kaeya recently adopted into the Ragnvindr family, he must have felt so grateful but still so homesick, he wouldn't have belonged immediately no matter how much diluc and crepus tried. Thinking about how he tried to go home by sneaking on a ship to sumeru and being brought back by the ear by crepus. Crepus must have been worried sick, he must have grounded kaeya for a month after that but he must have held him so tight, "don't ever do that again" he would have said. and diluc must have been so worried and so ecstatic when they finally returned home.He must have hugged him and held him so tightly and for the first time since being abandoned kaeya felt loved, he had a family again and for the first time didn't want to go home anymore, because he was already there.
Thinking about the brothers growing up the character stories tell you diluc was swordsman, kaeya is still one, they must have trained together learned the skills together, do you think diluc switched to claymore after their fight, because he couldn't pick up a sword anymore without thinking of his brother, without thinking of all the times they trained together and how the last time he used the sword he had hurt his brother so much, his little brother he always wanted to protect. But kaeya wasn't his brother anymore was he, he was a traitor, an enemy spy, he said so himself, but in his heart diluc wouldn't believe it, if he did why can't he tell the knights why won't he expose it, why would he keep it a secret. He can't do that, he can't let his brother get locked up as a criminal, he might be angry but in his heart he will always protect his brother, in his heart he believes his brother won't betray him no matter what he told him that day.
Do you ever think of how kaeya must have felt that night after his father died all full of complicated thoughts the ancient plots he doesn't fully understand but knows he will have to make a choice that he may end up betraying his family he doesn't want to. if he could he would choose mondstadt and his happiness but it wasn't that simple was it. A battle between his truth and his happiness. His duty to khaenriah as its last hope and his loyalty to mondstadt and the family that raised him. Do you think when he went to confess to diluc a part of him was hoping diluc would end him so he would not have to make that choice. So he would no longer have to feel all this pain and guilt thats not even letting him grieve his fathers death as a good son should, because its all he can think of. He knows his brother enough to know how he would react after all, and he would deserve it, he told himself, if he had to die better this way than another.
Thinking about how diluc must have been in so much pain that day after losing his father all he would have wanted was some support from his brother all he must have wanted would have been for kaeya to be there for him. After all no one else could understand this except him, but instead his brother had come to him and told him this horrible truth, this horrible secret that he's kept from them the whole time, diluc must have felt so betrayed, so broken in that moment. He could have killed kaeya in that moment, he almost might have if it wasn't for kaeya getting a vision. He would never have wanted to hurt him, but how could he help it when the one person who was supposed to be there for him has lied to him for so long.
Do you think when kaeya got his vision he must have been shocked and bitter, diluc got his vision at ten years old, kaeya who looked up to his brother so much would have wanted to be just like him, being a swordsman, joining the knights, all his life he followed his brother's footsteps and now he gets a vision in this moment when he's facing his brother in a fight, and its a cryo vision, the opposite of diluc's pyro. so incompatible as he says later on.
Thinking about how diluc left his vision when he left the knights and went on the fatui killing spree for three years. Thinking about how kaeya kept the vision the whole time and returned it in a vase when diluc got back. The same vase that diluc keeps on display where everyone who visits the mansion can see it even though he thinks it's tacky and complained that he didn't need it. Do you think the whole time diluc was gone kaeya would look at the vision everyday to see if its still glowing, to make sure his brother is still alive. He must have been so happy when diluc returned though diluc was no longer the cheerful older brother he knew. Atleast he was alive.
Do you think kaeya blamed himself for not being by dilucs side the last three years he was gone, he was always by his side, he was dilucs supporter and sounding board they were almost like twins, and now they were not even friends.
Do you think diluc spent his time those three years feeling so alone for the first time in his life, do you think he wished and wished his brother was by his side as he always was for so long. Do you think he blamed himself for so long thinking he blinded kaeya in one eye in that fight. The relief he must have felt when he returned home and realised he hadn't. Do you think diluc would have wanted to hug him so much when he first got home after those three years, he must have wanted to hug him just like he did all those years ago when kaeya tried to go to sumeru on the ship. but he couldn't, not anymore, not after what happened. Kaeya didn't even live at home anymore, but of course he didn't, how could he after what happened, do you think that's why diluc sold the mansion, because he couldn't live there anymore all alone with the memories of his father who is dead and his brother who may never call him his brother again.
Thinking about how kaeya was only seventeen when diluc left after the fight. Not yet an adult still so young and all alone again. Do you think diluc must have been shocked to see his brother when he returned, he was so grown up now, so different, cavalry captain now, dilucs old position, of course even after diluc was gone he would follow his footsteps, he wasn't shy anymore but rather confident, charming, dramatic, and Lord, he was taller than diluc now, when had that happened. How had he changed so much.
Thinking about how kaeya wrote eight letters to diluc and though diluc only replied to two of them, he kept them all. Thinking about how diluc must have still been angry, he must not have wanted to reply at all but he couldn't help himself. kaeya keeps hinting at his blind eye, of course he does, little brothers can be annoying like that, "don't think I don't know that your right eye wasn't blinded" he writes back. "I didn't mean to hide it from you on purpose, but I suppose you found out all the same" kaeya writes, "not everyone who wears an eyepatch is blind you know, some people also wear it if they have a scar". diluc doesnt know what to say to that, it is true that he has scarred his brother probably for life, he blames himself for this everyday. kaeya writes to him more, he knows about diluc being the dark Knight hero, of course he does, he knows diluc more than anyone, he hints at teaming up with the knights, he worries about diluc's safety. "don't worry about me, take better care of yourself " diluc writes back, he can't help it he may be angry but he worries about his little brother too.
Thinking about how kaeya kept dilucs replies along with seashells they collected together as children. He must have wanted to reconcile so bad, do you think he was hesitant to write to diluc at first, of course he was, he ends the first letter saying its alright if you don't reply. He doesn't expect diluc to reply at all but he can't help writing to him. He doesn't blame diluc for the fight or his scar he says so himself, and yet he alludes to his eye in the letter, he just can't help himself, annoying your older brother is a younger sibling privilege after all. No surprise diluc knows he wasn't blinded of course he knows, he knows him better than anyone. Do you think he felt hopeful when he got diluc's second reply, "take better care of yourself ". Maybe his brother did care for him still, maybe there was still hope for them.
Thinking about how diluc says you can trust half of what kaeya says at best, but he still trusts him with his dark Knight hero secret. yes the story quest made it seem like this was the first kaeya knew of it but the letters which are way older and collei's backstory in the webtoon tell us that not only has kaeya known the whole time but they have even worked together. In fact it seems more likely that kaeya was helping with the alibi by sending a Knight to check on him so there's official records of diluc not being the dark Knight hero. After all since everyone in the place was dilucs staff, how did kaeya get there with no one knowing. Of course the way they acted at the end is at odds with this but as in the webtoon kaeya knowing about it is a secret even from everyone else, if the rest of it was dilucs alibi then this was kaeya's alibi in a way. Even after all that's happened they can depend on each other even now.
Thinking about how kaeya said diluc is gloomy and boring but he still spends most of his time in the tavern annoying diluc in true younger brother fashion. Kaeya is obviously still guilty about everything but he still annoys diluc and teases him at every occasion he gets. He cant help it after all, its what little brothers do.
Thinking about how diluc gives him grape juice to stop him from coming because he knows kaeya doesn't like it in the webtoon and yet kaeya keeps coming, but in the end he finally serves him wine. Thinking about how they worked together for the first time in years at the time and they still did so well. Thinking about how diluc's anger and hostility slowly decreased as the chapters progressed. thinking about how obvious it was that kaeya was desperately trying to fix things pretending everything is fine and acting all happy and cheerful and teasing.
Thinking about how obvious it was from the way he described diluc that he looked up to him so much. Thinking of how kaeya must have been hurt when diluc said he's not his bro but of course he expected as much. Thinking of the way they call each other master diluc and Sir kaeya but on the inside they probably both just want to go back to being brothers.
Thinking of them arguing on the beach and kaeya bringing up seabird hunting and seashell collecting. diluc is surprised kaeya remembered or that he even cares, but of course he does he even kept the seashells.
Thinking of the windblume event and despite acting cold to kaeya as usual, it's obvious diluc wants him to stay. After all everyone goes home for windblume and this was still kaeya's home, even though it didn't feel like it after what happened. Thinking about how for a moment when kaeya got flustered and shy, diluc must have remembered how he used to be as a child, and for a moment kaeya was once again the little brother he knew so well. Thinking about how kaeya must have wanted to go home for windblume but didn't think he could, he must have been so caught off guard when he was invited. Of course he couldn't refuse adelinde and diluc may act like that was the only reason he was being asked to stay, but kaeya knows his brother well enough to know he wants him to stay as well. He didn't expect it but maybe there was hope for them after all.
Thinking about kaeya in the last event saying he has no ties to khaenriah except his last name, a half truth, he has his duty to make a decision, one he doesn't quite know the details of since he was a child, a duty he doesn't want to fulfil, one he wishes and wishes he was mistaken about, maybe there was no such thing, maybe his father left him in mondstadt to give him a happy life and he was wrong about whatever is coming next. when he tells the traveller this I think he did so out of hope. And when dain tells him about his parentage he is not shocked, but he sounded rather like it was what he had thought all along despite his wishful thinking. And that for all his hoping he can't escape this fate after all. He is almost defeated at this, he wished it wasn't true and yet it was. Thinking of him acting like its fine as usual but you know it's probably eating him up inside. what will he do when he has to make this choice. He doesn't know. and that's the tragedy that's followed him his whole life.
Thinking about kaeyas teapot line about making wine and about his lines in the new quest. Crepus probably taught both his sons the same things about winemaking, but considering the fact that kaeya is actually interested in it while diluc was always more interested in being a Knight it seems plausible that kaeya was the one who was supposed to get the angels share. The dawn winery to both brothers, diluc mansion to diluc and angels share to kaeya. After all kaeya seems to only have joined the knights to stay by dilucs side, he doesn't particularly enjoy his work, atleast not the way he enjoys wine making and diluc doesnt care for alcohol at all and seemed to love being a Knight for as long as he was one. It would be rather a twist if fate if things were intended that way but they ended up doing each others jobs. They both still ended up doing a good job.
Thinking about how kaeya said he was glad diluc has someone to depend on during the story quest, he sounded truly glad but also a bit sad, of course he was a bit sad, it had always been him in that place before, but if he can't be there for diluc anymore, he's atleast glad the traveller is. Do you think he sees how diluc is kind and gentle with the traveller unlike how he is with him and he's reminded of his older brother who always stood by him and protected him when he was an outsider in this town just like the traveller is now, and he thinks maybe he isn't that different after all.
Do you think diluc sees kaeya drinking and drinking and drinking at the tavern and he tries to make him stop, he takes his wine away, he gives him grape juice, he even tells him to drink responsibly that one time only for kaeya to get all dramatic and berate him for "throwing away father's legacy" and selling the mansion. diluc must have been angry at that, but he didn't pick a fight, of course he didn't, kaeya was obviously drunk. but diluc still sits with him and keeps him company.
Do you think kaeya sometimes falls asleep at the tavern after a night of drinking and diluc would think of how different he looks while asleep. so peaceful and innocent, like he used to be as a child. Do you think it would remind diluc of when they were little and fall asleep on the sofa after playing and their dad would carry them to bed and tuck them in. Do you think diluc would put kaeya's coat around his shoulders so he doesn't get cold, but neither of them would address it when he woke up and kaeya would assume it was someone else.
Do you think about how kaeya had a tcg card of diluc made do you think they played card games together as children they must have surely, strategy games like tcg seem to fit both of their strong points, do you think maybe he wanted to play together, do you think they ever get to.
Do you think of how kaeya was in sumeru to get spices for wine making and while he joked that whether diluc gets it or not is up to him diluc clearly got them since he tells us so in the birthday letter.
Thinking about they both probably just want so bad for things to be alright again but they don't know how they both have so much guilt and so much hurt and they've both hurt each other so much and they are both so different from how they used to be how can things ever be the same, but maybe they can try, slowly and even if it's not quite the same as before, maybe someday they can be brothers again.

“sorry, i’m a bit tired.”
diluc x male reader
tw: major character deaths (yes, deathS), diluc’s backstory spoilers, blood, fighting, crying, self hate, heavy angst, mentions of drinking, and a bunch of pretty messed up stuff i don’t think i missed anything but if i did pls let me know
genre: angst
a/n: i love diluc so much i want to make him suffer
song:
—
“sorry! i’m a bit tired.”
y/n called out. the young boy was trying to catch up to a young diluc, who seemed so full of energy and excitement.
“c’mon! there’s so much things i want to do with you!”
you laughed, running to walk next to your close friend. mr. crepus said he would be back soon, but it had already been an hour and the two of you were bored out of your minds. you were walking to mondstat city together, walking on the bridge leading to the entrance. the two of you awed at the tall buildings and the even taller windmills. everything seemed so lively. it was amazing, just how many things were there to entertain the duo. together, you laughed, made jokes, bought candy with money diluc found in his father’s drawer, and now you were sitting on a bench, legs hanging down the edge of the seat but not quite touching the floor. you were finishing up your bag of candy before throwing it away in a bin. you stared at the sun, which was starting to set. you sighed.
“maybe we should start heading back? i think your dad is back by now.”
you heard diluc grumble.
“already? time really goes by quickly.”
you laughed.
“maybe ‘cuz you’re having fun with me?”
diluc smiled.
“yea, i did have fun with you. we should head back now.”
diluc hopped off the bench, you copying his movements.
you headed back to the ragnvinder house, laughing and walking with diluc, hand-in-hand.
~
“sorry! i’m a bit tired.”
“y’know, you kinda say that a lot.”
“shush. i am.”
you were talking to diluc in the tavern, celebrating his birthday. you had yawned a few seconds ago, but it really didn’t matter to you at the moment. a blonde man, who was obviously a bit tipsy, came up from behind you making you flinch a bit.
“CONGRATS, MASTER DILUC!! YOU’RE AN ADULT NOW!!!”
this made a few heads turn, but everyone got back to their own drinks in a split second.
“COME ON, HAVE A DRINK!”
he thrust forward his own drink a bit, as if gesturing to diluc he should take a sip.
“thanks, but…”
he gave a quick glance to you, who already knew diluc was going to refuse.
“i’ll pass this time.”
you let out a soft chuckle. you looked around for anyone you recognized, even kaeya would suffice. however, you couldn’t exactly name everyone in the tavern at the moment.
“RIGHT! I FORGOT YOU WERE STILL ON DUTY!”
several laughs were shared around the man, diluc huffing out a small laugh himself. you felt a presence behind you, and you turned to see mr. crepus behind the crowd surrounding the bar. he came up the the loud, blonde man, and gave him. soft smack to the shoulder with his left hand
“hahaha! don’t worry! feel free to stop by our winery anytime and we’ll drink together to your hearts content!”
“HOW GENEROUS OF YOU, MR. CREPUS!”
he wasn’t wrong. mr. crepus treated you as his own son, and even took you in when your parents eventually tried to get rid of you. you couldn’t pay him back in any way. he turned to you and diluc..
“let’s get going, diluc, y/n. we should head back home before it starts raining, don’t you think?”
“yes, father.”
diluc said, inching between the crowd to get outside while mr. crepus told everyone the tavern is now closed.
~
diluc and his father were having a conversation about the knights of favonius, while you stared at the ground. diluc was guiding the horses, and crepus was peeking his head out to talk to his son. you knew they would know if something went wrong, but something didn’t feel right. it felt like someone, something, was watching. you went back to the conversation when you heard a wooden box open.
“well…”
there was a pause.
“diluc… i’m so proud of you, my son.”
you stared the contents of the box. it had a glove, and an.. orb? attached to the top. at first glance, you would have assumed it might have been a vision, but.. it didn’t seem like one. it didn’t glow with the power of the archons, as doluc’s did. in fact, it almost seemed like the opposite. crepus then turned to you.
“and… y/n. thank you, for all of the good deeds you have blessed mondstat with. i’m glad i was able to be there for you.”
he said this in a much, much quieter tone. it made you concerned. what’s going on? why is he saying this all of a sudden? you felt the waggon stop, and the neighing on horses when you whipped around to speed outside. you were met face-to-face with a dragon. its glowing yellow eyes made you feel paralyzed. now really wasn’t the time to freeze, but your instinct told you to run, while your heart told you to stay and help the two red-haired men. your brain, overloaded, couldn’t do anything. diluc was clearly struggling, and him missing a weapon definitely didn’t help. crepus sprinted in front of you to help diluc, the glove that was in the box now equipped on his hand. your eyes widened and you leaped forward, trying to stop him from using it. it was a delusion, and while it gifts the user with incredible power, it also depletes the user’s life source by indescribable amounts.
you shouted, tried to grab him, yelled his name, but he continued to use the delusion. when the dragon lunged towards an injured diluc, breaking off the chains made by crepus’s delusion, you were the one supposed to save dilic. not crepus. it was never supposed to be crepus. there was hundreds, thousands of ways you could have saved diluc and crepus, but you failed every last one of them. now, you were standing next to a lifeless crepus, too shocked by how everything went by so fast you didn’t feel the tears flowing from your eyes. diluc was kneeling next to you, hands gently covering his wound, as if trying to heal them, to make him come back to life. you could barely hear kaeya’s shouts. the rain made your hair and clothes wet. you just stared. it was a pathetic sight. you probably didn’t notice you had wounds from the dragon, too. the only thing you could think about was how you wished to go back in time, just one minute, just to save crepus. the one you considered your own father. you didn’t notice kaeya behind you. you didn’t notice the yelling from other knights behind you. you didn’t even notice diluc stood up and started sobbing into your shoulder. you didn’t think of anything, the only thought that played over and over, like a broken record, in your mind was-
“i killed crepus.”
~
there were sightings of suspicious abyss mages at stormbearer point. you offered to take a look, considering the knights were busy at the moment. there were more monsters than you had expected, there being 3 abyss mages and a handful of hillichurls and a few mitachurls. and when a ruin guard showed up, you decided that it was probably a trap and you should run. you did. you really tried. but two ruin hunters showed up- you never even tried to take on more than one at once. there was no one nearby. there was no way of escaping.
you were exhausted. you knew you would have to take a break soon, as sweat covered your forehead and body. you were also mentally drained, too. it felt like your vision was tired from being used so much. the last ruin hunter was about to die, you could tell. by the way it clicked every time it moved, and the scratches, and the occasional pin popping out, there was no way it would last much longer either. when it suddenly disappeared, you panicked. you looked all around you, preparing your weapon. your vision was almost flashing. glowing, then glowing a bit less the next second, and repeat. it was almost like warning you to be careful. suddenly, you felt something pierce you from the back. you looked down to see one of the metal spikes of its arm, going right through your abdomen. you suddenly spurted blood from your mouth, covering your mouth quickly with the hand that wasn’t grasping your weapon. your vision flashed more violently as the spike left your body, and that seemed to deplete all of the ruin hunter’s energy too, as it fell to the ground and powered off. you collapsed to the ground in suit, feeling the blood trickle down your chin. you fell to your side, trying to keep the wound from getting worse, but you knew you were dead soon. the amount of blood you were loosing ensured it. you felt someone rush to your side, and your head being put on their lap. you creaked an eye open to see familiar red hair and eyes from above you. you let out a weak chuckle.
“hey, ‘luc. sorry you have to see me like this.”
you covered your mouth right after your sentence, more blood coming up your throat.
“no. no, no, no, no, no, no, no. not you too. please. you’re the last person i have-“
the last sentence was cut short, diluc’s words catching in his throat as his tears started to flow down his face.
he brought your chest up to hug you, getting your blood and grime on his clothes. his tears were absorbed by the cloth on your shoulder as he cried into your shoulder.
“hey. ‘luc, i love you. take care of yourself for me, yea?”
“don’t say that. please. help is coming- even barbara is coming- just hang on. please. stay with me.”
he sobbed into your shirt, clinging onto it with his hands.
“c’mon, there’s so much things i want to do with you.”
you laughed weakly one last time.
“sorry. i’m a bit tired.”

So on my No Bad End fic I mentioned doing a Crepus approval scale because It was the closest to the Diluc Harem I'll be writing so as a reminder
The Kaeya Scale of Approval Thoma (9.9) Wriothesley (8.5) Xiao (8.4) Itto (6) Eula (5.6) Al Haitham (4) Kaveh (3.5) Albedo (3) Childe (2.6) Ayato (1) Donna (0.5) Zhongli (0)
And now introducing!!
Crepus Scale of Approval!
So starting right at the top, kind of surprise to Kaeya is Al Haitham (9.0). So yeah he's not really a romantic type up he's got a stable job, a house. Good things. But what Crepus likes Is Al Haitham's very "Take care of myself first" mind set. He really wants that to rub of more on Diluc, and he's hoping that together they'll balance each other out.
Right under him is actually Zhongli (8.0) Because like Al Haitham he seems to have a stable job and is well respected in his community. Defiantly gets dinged point for forgetting his wallet. But he's respectful and treats Diluc well. Now if Crepus learns he's an Archon he gets a little torn because suddenly he feels like he's much too old for Crepus's baby, but Diluc deserves the best and how better can you be than a literal god?
After that is a tie with Wriothesley and Ayato (7.5) Like those above them, Crepus like their stable and high ranking positions. They both get dinged though because Crepus would be worrying too much about Diluc feeling like he was fighting for social standing.
Under those two is Albedo (7.3) He's got a lot of going for him, being a knight and having Alice's backing behind him. He just gets knocked down a lot of points because he's a weirdo. And Crepus would constantly be asking Alice "Are you sure your nephew is ok?"
Next up, Kaveh (6.0) Just barely hitting the pass in Crepus's book. He's saved by his pure passion and genuine expression. And I think he'd be the best at really showing Diluc how loved he is. So Crepus can't be too made at that.
Again, Barely passing to everyone's surprised Thoma (5.8). Yeah, he's got a stable job and is really nice and a house husband. But he's a just a housekeeper and defiantly couldn't afford to keep Diluc's lifestyle. And while he's nice, Crepus would worry that he's too passive and that he'd again act more like a servant than a partner.
So jumping right down is Xiao at a (3.8) Crepus would not be impressed, not even after learning he's a Yaksha because how is that going to support his son? He only gets points because ya he could protect Diluc
Itto (1) lives up to his "numero UNO" Because that's all he's getting from Crepus. Where Kaveh could win Crepus's over this his devotion, Crepus draws that line at gangs. At least an architect is a respectable job!
Eula (0.2) Hanging on by a thread. And honestly, it's only because Varka has faith in her. So that does mean something to Crepus. But her behavior would totally turn him cold.
Then with at the bottom Childe (0.1) No way in hell is a crazy harbinger like that going near Crepus's baby boy. But here is the thing. I think Childe would be the most likely to change his score once Crepus's See his devotion to his family. Because... Crepus would want that for Diluc. He wants Diluc to have a big happy family, He'd love going to visit Childe's family with Diluc. But... being Fatui is too much of a risk. Because while Crepus does think Childe is an honest man, he still can be used by other people, and thus they'd use Diluc so no way.
Honorable mention Donna forgetting a negative score Crepus would see her following Diluc around and just ask Varka to keep an eye out.
And for those wondering about the Varka scale for the No Bad End Varka. The answer is they are all zero. You express interest in Varka's godchild, his opinion of you jumps right into the trash.

Diluc, Kaeya and Wanderer - Cinderella
youtube
King Krepus Ragnivindr has decided it was about time his son was to wed. He decides the most efficient way to do this is to host a masquerade ball. He invited every eligible unmarried person in the kingdom of Mondstadt in hopes of finding his son a spouse. Diluc can only pray to Barbatos that he may find someone worthy of love.
Meanwhile, a young person is at home. They are cleaning the house from top to bottom for their stepmother and stepsisters. The three ladies are beautiful but are vain and cruel at heart. Y/n's father died from an illness years ago, so they are stuck with a wicked family. There was a knock on the door, Y/n opened it and was surprised to see the King's advisor, Jean.
"Prince Diluc Ragnvindr has invited you to an exclusive masquerade ball-," Y/n couldn't hear the rest of her words, their stepsisters and stepmother squealed in excitement. All they had to hear was the prince and they were ready to leave.
Of course, when the step sisters heard the news they were as excited as Y/n. Their stepmother scoffed at the idea of Y/n going and she decided to make a deal with them, "Y/n, if you can scrub and dust this house by the end of the night and find an outfit and mask suitable enough for the ball, you may go.”
Y/n's step sisters cackled at the very idea of Y/n being able to get all this done. Despite their merciless teasing, Y/n was able to do as their stepmother told them. Of course, their stepmother still wouldn't allow them to attend the ball. She had locked Y/n up in their bedroom while she and her daughters left.
And so, Y/n sat at the window, staring at the stars for the rest of the night... that would have been the case if this blue-haired man hadn't been walking around. He had just noticed this individual looking up at the sky. And so he began talking to them, "Excuse me. Are you not attending the ball tonight?"
Y/n's head looked down at this man, thinking how strange it was he was wearing an eyepatch, "No, I wasn't allowed to. I'm locked in my room, if I wanted to go I wouldn't be able to."
"What if I got you out and helped you get to the ball?"
Although this piqued their interest, they rolled their eyes, "I've seen you before, but I don't even know who you are. Why would you help me? We're strangers."
The blue-eyed man smirked, thinking to himself before speaking, "I am Venti, Prince Diluc's bard for the night."
"Why would you be wandering around Mondstadt?"
"I was just on my way to the ball. Now would you like me to assist you?" The man smirked, smoothly lying. Y/n was a bit suspicious that a well-dressed man was a bard but agreed, they jumped from the window into the man's arms, "Wonderful. Get dressed and we shall go."
"I haven't got an outfit, I'm afraid it was ripped to shreds,"
"Well, you can't go to a masquerade ball without a mask and an outfit! Don't worry. I know the perfect place," He gently grabbed Y/n's hand and led them into a deep part of the forest until the pair reached a well.
"It's a well," Y/n said unenthusiastically.
"Ah ah~ It's no ordinary well. This is the well of a magical fairy. All you have to do to summon her is wish for something. So. Wish for an outfit to the ball, and perhaps a carriage to get there while we're at it,"
Y/n just side-eyed him while silently wishing in front of the well, hoping this works and he isn't just messing with them. They opened one eye to see nothing had changed about the well, "Venti, you lied!"
"Are you sure about that?" "Venti" smirked before making them look back at the well to a very angry fairy. This fairy certainly wasn't one you'd imagine from a fairy tale. He was a short, furious, hat-wearing man.
"Who summoned me this time? I swear I'll never forgive that stupid fairy for cursing me and making me take her place!"
"Well someone’s in a bad mood," The fairy man snapped his head towards "Venti".
"Oh great, it's you. What do you want this time?"
"This kind person here is the one requesting something," Y/n awkwardly waved as "Venti" pointed to them.
"And who are you? A lowly human?"
"I'm Y/n. I didn't want to summon you. I thought this man here was pranking me but apparently, you're a fairy who can help me,"
"I don't help anyone just cause they ask nicely. I only helped this guy once because I owe him my life. But he's also the reason I'm a cursed fairy," The fairy glared at "Venti ", "Wanderer at your service. What can I do for you?"
"Well... Wanderer. I was hoping I could get an outfit for this ball... and maybe a carriage?" Y/n shyly asked, worried about this fairy's outbursts.
He merely sighed, "Alright, done and done. What else?"
"Um... I guess that's it. Oh, I’d like it if my face can’t be recognized with the mask on too. What do I need to give you in return?"
Wanderer was just dumbfounded, "Is that it?" He thought for a second, "Then... in return, I wish for you to take me as your date."
This caught "Venti" off guard, he dryly chuckled, "I didn’t realize you would fall easily for a ‘lowly human’. You just met! At least take them out to dinner first.”
Y/n and Wanderer became flustered with Y/n lightly hitting “Venti”, “Don’t just say things like that!”
"Shut it! I meant as an acquaintance. I've been wanting to leave this god forbidden well. Now do we have a deal or not?" Wanderer held out his hand to seal the deal. Y/n nodded and took it. Before long they were surrounded by blue-colored winds which completely changed their outfit. It was white and gold themed, each piece beautifully detailed along with the mask on their face. Alongside Y/n was a fancy white pumpkin carriage.
Once the winds had gone, Y/n turned to face Wanderer, who was wearing a matching outfit. "Venti" sighed before putting up his facade again, "You two look wonderful. Shall we get going?"
"We? Who said you were going?" Wanderer gave "Venti" A death glare while assisting Y/n into the carriage.
"Eh? I'm a part of the ball am I not?"
"He says he’s the bard, he'll be performing tonight. Just let him in," This made Wanderer turn his head towards "Venti" with suspicion before giving in and letting him inside the carriage.
The three finally arrived at the castle steps. Y/n rushed ahead of the other two, excited to see everything, the castle was simply magnificent. Wanderer looked at "Venti" as he made his way up the steps with him, "Why are you lying to them? What's the point?"
"Me? Lying? Why would I ever do such a thing?"
"Don't pull my leg, you know what I'm talking about. Why not tell them you're the Prince's brother?"
"Hm... Truth be told, I noticed them a while ago. I must admit, I think they're quite enchanting. However, I don't like the idea of my princely title getting in the way. I believe it would be best if I put on this play for as long as I can,"
"Until what? Until you get tangled in your web of lies? You really think they'd like someone who just lies their way out of everything?"
"Oh? And you think they'd like a fairy who throws tantrums as you do?"
"They’re more likely to fall for me than you,"
"Oh? Has the great fairy fallen for the sweet Y/n?"
“Don’t be absurd!”
Meanwhile, Y/n had been admiring the architecture. From the pillars to the patterns in the ceiling. That is until they bumped into the redhead of the night who was dancing with one of Y/n's stepsisters Y/n fell to the ground and so Diluc stopped dancing to help them up.
"Uh- excuse me! You were dancing with me. Why are you helping this peasant?" Diluc simply gave her a stoic look as Y/n took his hand, he was clearly uninterested in their step-sister.
"Pardon me," Was all he said as he went off to dance with Y/n, "I apologize for my dancing partner's harsh words. I hope you're alright. We bumped into you quite roughly."
Y/n's heart just beat faster, the Prince was a true gentleman. This was the first time Y/n had ever seen him, there were no pictures they could see of him. He was the standard of beauty. The way his long red hair just moved along with him as the two danced the night away. Truly breathtaking. The two needed no words, they were able to dance perfectly in sync as if they were made to complete each other.
Wanderer and "Venti" were nearby, watching the two. The sight of the Prince and Y/n dancing made Wanderer laugh, "Are you jealous, Prince Kaeya?"
"Not at all. Just because they dance well together does not mean they're fated to be together," Now, Prince Kaeya was able to smoothly cover his true feelings up but he couldn't help but feel the ache in his chest seeing his brother whisk the one he had fallen for so long ago away.
Wanderer was simply not convinced and decided to push further, "I wouldn’t be so sure about that. I can just see that they were made for each other."
"Aren't you supposed to be a fairy godmother? It’s not very godly of you to not help a poor soul in need,"
"Shut it. Buer was, not me. But we all know what happened. Not helping you should be considered payback for what you've done to me,"
"Whatever you say, Wanderer. I'll be in the gardens," Prince Kaeya excused himself.
Y/n could hardly take their eyes off Diluc's. The red eyes were full of passion and ambition. Diluc smiled at them, "So I'm assuming you're here for the potential to be my spouse?"
"Wait- what?" Y/n was taken aback, stopping their dance, "I had no idea this was meant to be a matchmaking type of ball!"
Diluc was now equally confused, "So... you didn't come here to try to marry me?"
"No! I just wanted to get out for once and didn't even think I'd run into you! Not that I'm complaining of course,"
"Oh. I see. Then… if you'd like we can explore the palace?"
"I'd love that actually," Diluc guided them through the palace, ignoring anyone who asked him or Y/n to be their partner. From the throne room, through the halls, until they both reached the gardens. The pair were chatting about the architecture, getting quite close. Diluc was just about to see what Y/n looked like without the mask until they spotted Prince Kaeya. Diluc approached first.
"Ah, Y/n. This is-,"
"Venti? What are you doing here?" Diluc raised a brow and Kaeya immediately stood up.
"Kaeya. Care to explain why this lovely individual is calling you by the name of our bard?"
"I can explain," He calmly stated, gathering himself, "Y/n. I may have lied to you."
"What? Why? Who are you then?"
"That is my brother, Prince Kaeya of Mondstadt."
"You were the other Prince!?" Y/n nearly fell over if Diluc wasn’t holding onto them.
"I apologize for lying. I didn't want my title to intimidate you... to be honest I... never mind that. How are you enjoying the ball? I see you've got my brother in your arms. I take it you two shall be wed?"
Y/n became flustered immediately, "Oh no no! I didn't even realize this ball was meant to be with Prince Diluc until five minutes ago!"
"Oh? So I still have a chance then?" Kaeya smoothly replied.
"Brother! Must you be so impolite?" Diluc frowned. That's when Wanderer arrived in the gardens, pulling Y/n aside as the brothers bickered.
"Y/n, I heard this lady talking about you. I think she knows who you are and plans on going home as soon as possible to make sure you're still there,” He looked behind himself just in case, “Is that why you wished to not be recognized with your mask on?”
Y/n sighs, "That must be my stepmother. She didn't want me coming here in the first place,"
"Then I must get you home quickly before she knows,"
Y/n looked back at the bickering brothers, “But what about-,”
Y/n’s stepmother was seen coming out of the ballroom with their step sisters towards the gardens. Wanderer had grabbed their hand, making a run for it. Amid their running, Y/n’s shoe slipped off. They looked back at it but Wanderer made them keep going, telling them to ignore it. The royal brothers frantically left the gardens, looking for the two, shouting their names.
Wanderer used his powers, and blue winds surrounded the two of them, suddenly appearing at his well. Wanderer sat them on a log and sat beside them, “Sorry for dragging you away like that. I didn’t want your stepmother to find you out. Figured it’d be a huge pain for you.”
“Well, you aren’t wrong. I should probably find a place to hide this outfit huh?”
“You can hide it with me if you want,”
The two of them sat in awkward silence until Y/n piped up, “I remember you said Ven- I mean… Prince Kaeya was the reason you’re a fairy godmother. How is that?”
Wanderer stared at Y/n, making them flinch and almost taking back the question if he hadn’t piped up, “Buer... Nahida was the original fairy of the well. At some point in my life, I was a poor boy just begging on the streets for scraps to eat. I think I passed out from starvation until young Prince Kaeya found me. He took me to Nahida’s well and she saved me. Because she and the prince saved me I felt I owed them. I asked what I could do in return. Nahida asked me to temporarily take over for her. She said she’d come out when I find… When I find something. She currently resides in the well, no idea when she’ll come out again.”
“What’s it like in there?”
“It’s beautiful. It has a nice palace that I normally live in. Nahida’s been in her room so I haven’t seen her in there much,”
“You said you helped Prince Kaeya once. When was that?”
He thought for a moment, “I’m sure if I told you, he’d try to kill me.”
“Tell me!” Y/n demanded.
“Alright, alright! When we were both a little older and I was still this cursed fairy thing, he was on the run from the palace. He had asked me to grant him the ability to be so charismatic because he wanted to be able to leave the palace whenever he pleased without anyone questioning him. I thought it was a stupid request but I granted it regardless,”
“I guess even younger Princes still have things to get away from,”
“Yes, I suppose so… he seems to care about you a lot you know. I’ve heard him talking about you for years, I feel like I practically know you without properly meeting you. It’s kind of annoying.”
Y/n froze, “Wait, what? Years? I just met him tonight!”
“Believe it or not, he’s watched you for years. Creep. Anyways, I think it’s best if we get you home, it’s past midnight and your so-called family is probably going to arrive home soon,”
They nodded. Wanderer took their hand and led them out of the forest, using the winds to lift them back into their room and magically changing them out of their ball outfit back into their rags. He waved goodbye to them and disappeared just before their stepfamily could see him.
“Y/n! We’ve returned. I hope you’ve finished your chores,” Y/n’s stepmother announced as she barged into the house.
Y/n, back in their usual rags stood in the spotless home, stunning their family, “I was just relaxing by the fireplace, I hope you all had fun.”
Their step-sisters ignored Y/n and went up to their respective rooms. Y/n’s stepmother was still suspicious of them. So, as soon as Y/n went up to their room in a tiny and cramped attic, she locked the door. The next morning, the Prince and his assistant went all over the kingdom in order to return the shoe to the rightful owner and find the one who stole the Prince’s heart. Though it would be a while before they reach Y/n's home.
Y/n was lonely, being starved in their room, rarely getting a meal. That would be the case if Wanderer, for whatever reason, kept them company. He brought them food and newer clothes, he took care of them. It was strange but Y/n didn’t question it, afraid they would offend him. Though they did wonder, where had Prince Kaeya gone? It had been nearly a week. A quiet morning was interrupted by chattering downstairs.
“Oh do come in! I’m sure my daughters would fit the shoe you’re speaking of!” Y/n’s stepmother enthusiastically spoke. It seemed the Prince and the advisor were here. If only Y/n could leave. They jiggled the door knob though it didn’t budge. They tried for the window but for some reason, it was as if the window was glued shut. Y/n began having a hard time breathing, feeling too claustrophobic.
With a gust of blue wind, Wanderer had appeared. He quickly made his way to Y/n, holding them in order to calm them down, “It’s alright, I am here now. I can get you out of here and you can try on that shoe and be safe with the Prince. I know you’ll be happy and safe.”
“But what about you? What happened to Prince Kaeya?”
“Don’t worry about me. Kaeya… he was forbidden from leaving. The King found out he had been sneaking out and locked him in his room. But I’m sure you’ll be able to see him too once you’re out of this place.”
“Wanderer?”
“What? Tell me what to do and I’ll do it.”

They changed Kaeya’s dialogue from the Caribert quest in the archives... very sneakily... yknow what it used to say but now even though the text appears to be unchanged his dialogue is different. He says :
"Maybe my father left me in the peaceful land of Mondstadt, for no other reason than to simply keep me alive." "As well as ensuring I'd be safely cutoff from... certain things. The thought that I might actually get to live a happy life there must've been the icing on the cake" heh
What do you think of this??
I didnt know, thanks for telling me!
i actually like it. as i said in one post before, it's very obvious that kaeya's dad, mr. "we alberichs do not wallow as embers, but blaze like a flame", would not plan for kaeya to just live peacefully as the end goal. "you're khaenriah's last hope" and look of hatred and hope from kaeya's character story would also make no sense. Kaeya has to realize this and it would be incredibly and uncharacteristically naive of him to start thinking his dad just wants him to live laugh love, no strings attached.
like i was actually worried with that line they were trying to retcon kaeya's dad into like a good father no bad vibes uwu, like they already trying to retcon diluc and kaeya's relationship, and this would undermine kaeya's entire characterization.
but this rephrasing, despite being subtle, brings a huge difference of kaeya acknowledging that his father has long term plans for him and mb was making sure the instrumental part of his plans is safe, and his son being able to grow up happy is a added bonus, not an endgoal.

Can you give me headcanons of Kaeya seeing a woman from Sumeru, with dark blue hair, tan skin and a bandage around her head who sat on a bench, depressed and covering her eyes.
A knight explains to Kaeya that she was robbed, they are on the case, but they told her that they can't gurantee to recover her goods. They offered her a place to stay, but she wouldn't react to their words only remains to that catatonic state.
As Kaeya introduces himself to her, she raises her head at his name, revealing a somehow familiar but slightly aged face. "Kaeya, my son, is that really you?"
He thought she was dead because that's what his father told him (not pierro pls), turns out she had memory loss due to Eleazar, but miraculously she along with others have recovered. She remembered and wanted to find him, naturally assuming he would be in Khaenri'ah, she originally planned to rent a boat in Dornman Port, the sailors there would bold enough to sail that far off. He was around 5 when he left so he doesn't remember much. She does hold hidden bitterness against his father who left him behind.
She is worried at how thin he is and about his eye patch checking under it. Was reminded by him to not mention nor answer questions about his past especially not Khaenri'ah in public which isn't hard for her at all, since she is enigmatic, socially awkward, gloomy, troubled, quiet and has trust issues, but tries to be useful even though deep down she thinks she has no worth. Pretty much a rationalizer, taken aback of how sentimental and alcohol-loving Mondstädters can be. Perhaps INFJ.
She didn't take it well that his father abandoned him for some grand scheme and tells him to not tease Diluc if he is the only one who knows about his secret. And advices himto never drink again after Diluc entlightened her about his unhealthy relationship with wine infront of him though it is not like she forces him to.
Kaeya's Mother
Kaeya was returning to the Knight's Headquarters when he came across two knights. They were standing a few feet away from a woman sitting on a bench, whispering to each other.
When Kaeya approached, the two knights looked at him, a look of relief on their faces.
"Kaeya! We weren't sure what to do. Maybe you can help"
They explained that this woman had been robbed in broad daylight, but nobody could catch the thief before they disappeared.
"We tried to ask for her information and even offered her a place to stay, but she won't acknowledge us."
Kaeya nodded and approached the woman whose head was hanging low. He kneeled in front of her, and it was like time had stopped when he realized who it was.
"You two can return to your posts. I'll handle this."
As the two knights left them alone, the woman finally looked at Kaeya, and it was like the light had come back to her.
"Kaeya, my son, is that really you?"
Kaeya nodded slowly, unsure of how to feel. So many emotions were swirling through his heart as his mother hugged him.
"I thought you were dead?.. that's what father told me."
She explained that she had Eleazar and had lost her memory. But not long ago, everyone suddenly recovered with all of their memories.
"I tried to find you in Khaenri'ah, but of course, that was a fruitless endeavor… and I ended up here. I didn't think I'd ever find you.
As the two of them chatted and his mother learned about how his father left him, she became enraged. She was glad that he was taken in by the Ragnvindr's, but that shouldn't have had to happen in the first place.
"You're sure your okay? My boy, your so skinny, and that eye patch of yours. You would be nice and fuller if only you were raised in Khaenri'ah."
She tried to pull it up, and Kaeya just laughed, gently pushing her hand away.
"I promise I'm okay, and remember, we can't talk about that, especially in public.
As the weeks went by, Kaeya got to know his mother, and they started working on developing that bond they had lost many years ago.
Surprisingly enough, His mother adores Diluc and thinks he's a good influence on Kaeya. She supports Dilucs ranting about Kaeyas drinking and also wants him to stop.
Diluc is one of the few people his mother trusts in Mondstadt. She finds most of the people there to be strange, and it is difficult for her to fit in.
However, she kept fixating on his father, talking about how angry she was with him for abandoning Kaeya. It doesn't seem she's going to get over it any time soon.
I hope you enjoy <3

Okay, I wasn't tagged, but I thought this looked fun to do. 10 characters from 10 fandoms, Honey version!
Optimus Prime - Transformers
Whatever continuity it may be, I love Optimus Prime (yes, even the Shatter Glass version). I was torn between him and Bumblebee, but in the end, I chose Papa Prime. He's such a Dad and I would go to war for him. Optimus is one of my comfort characters and he's also one of the fictional beings I wish were real because I'd give anything to receive a hug from him.
Erza Scarlet - Fairy Tail
One of my first girl crushes. It was thanks to Erza that I realized I also liked women. I loved how goofy she can be despite her seriousness, and her love for the Fairy Tail guild is extremely admirable. I kind of relate to her as well because she puts on a strong front despite her emotional baggage and all.
Kaeya Alberich - Genshin Impact
My original main character in Genshin Impact. I have been playing since 2021 and I did build other characters (out of necessity thanks to the Spiral Abyss and other game mechanics), but Kaeya remains as my strongest character. Idk why but I just fell in love with him when he was first introduced (the camera slowly panning up starting from his legs while he slow claps aergfeksdfvd).
Saitama - One Punch Man
Where do I even begin with this goofy bundle of overpowered-ness? I love how he's written, how he cares for Genos and his friends in his own way, and how he uses his strength for the good (though I do wonder how the world will be like if Saitama is a villain lol). His fight with Gorou is the best in the series as well.
Percy Jackson - Percy Jackson and the Olympians; Heroes of Olympus
If I could have a boyfriend, I would love it to be Percy Jackson (sorry, Annabeth saldfnkd). I love him so much, head to toe, and I keep re-reading the books over and over and over and over (especially Son of Neptune. He was so badass there aldsjfk).
Toothless - How to Train Your Dragon
Okay, let's take a break from simping and introduce someone wholesome. Yes, I love Toothless. I love his strength, his loyalty, and how he loves and cares for Hiccup and Berk. I was really sad when they parted in the third movie, though I can kind of see why it could be a good closure between Hiccup and Toothless.
Chika Amatori - World Trigger
Continuing with more wholesome, can I just say that Chika is mY BABYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!! Okay to clarify, majority of the people in the World Trigger AU are my babies (except for Soya Kazama coz he is my bae), but Chika is my number 1 baby, okay? Cute and badass, I love how this tiny bundle is such a talented sniper underneath that cuteness and timidness (I am getting redundant but please excuse me sksksksks)
Sung Jinwoo - Solo Leveling
MY MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN seriously, I fell in love with him ever since the light novel days. I was so ecstatic when Solo Leveling got a manhwa, and I was even more excited when SL finally got an anime! I love him, I love his growth and development (though I wish manhwa Jinwoo got more development when it comes to his personality and whatnot coz LN Jinwoo was soooo entertaining). Also his outfits are 10000000000 out of 10.
Alice - America McGee's Alice, and Alice Madness Returns
Eyeliner goals. Kidding aside, she's one of my most favorite in-game characters. I love the setting, weapons, and plot, especially in Alice Madness Returns.
Bolin - Avatar: Legend of Korra
Last and definitely not the least, is my favorite himbo, Bolin. I love his growth in the series, especially when he invented lava bending. I was worried that he'd just remain as the comic relief among his friends but I saw how he developed and I think it's good enough (though it could be developed more. Bolin has so much potential tbh).
I wonder how it'll be like if they are in the same room. I think they'll just be talking to each other and vibing, though I can imagine Optimus to be a little awkward since he's so tall. I can also imagine Bolin to be the ice breaker between all of them since he's the friendliest among this bunch.
tagged by @irumaismybaby for 10 characters, 10 fandoms, and 10 tags!
1. Purson Soi 🎺 Mairimashita! Iruma-kun
i think this one was obvious afdsgbg. i just love him sm, and the fact that you can see little snippets of him from the beginning of the series is fantastic and you never know where he's lurking is just so cool. he's so relatable and just a really well written character (every character in mairuma is well-written i love mairuma sm)
2. Kageyama Shigeo 🌻 Mob Psycho 100
one of my favorite characters in mp100 it was hard to choose but i ultimately decided on mob! related to him so much i cried multiple times while watching the series (never skipped the opening it's such a banger). he's so nice and cool, and so damn relatable. he's got his funny moments too, despite being a strong psychic/esper he just wants to live his life regularly and not thinking himself as above others. this series is 100% fantastic, if you want a new anime to watch or manga to read, 100% recommend
3. Agatsuma Zenitsu ⚡ Demon Slayer
honestly i was so annoyed at him and his crying but realized: "Oh i relate to him" so that was a crisis /lh. but yeah i can see how his crying and whining can get annoying and get many fans to dislike him, but seeing his backstory, experiences, and just basic personality remove the crying. i'll be crying every day if i were him too. he's just so cool and awesome, he gets confidence whenever he falls asleep but when he wakes up his self esteem and confidence plummets, he only knows one breathing form but he mastered it to the T!
4. Akane Aoi ⏳ Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun
akane aoi! idk why but he's just really cool, part supernatural, clock keeper of the present. his 'love' for aoi is more of an obsession with her. his entire character revolves around her, and that's gotta spark some identity crisis within himself some day, i love it.
(lemon yamabuki is a close runner-up though i need more content of lemon)
5. Furuichi Takayuki Beelzebub
oooo boy this series is an old one but i still love it with all my heart. furuichi takayuki! best friend of tatsumi oga! the tactician/general of the delinquent school, ishiyama high! he's known as the 'Perverted' character and gets beat up for it a l o t in canon but i love how its not his ONLY defining trait, they also handled the pervert issue in my favorite arc in the manga and showed how one-dimensional and shallow the characters see him. he's so well-written and fleshed out and his entire character is *chef's kiss* i love him so much and can go in an entire rant about him but this is long enough.
6. Cheslock 🎻 Black Butler
he gave me so much gender envy when i first saw him. please he's so cool and despite his punk aesthetic he's a musical genius i cant wait to see him get animated. he's actually a side character but honestly i dont care i just love that he exists but is chronically underrated please-
7. Jun'ichiro Tanizaki ❄️ Bungo Stray Dogs
ok first up- his relationship with his sister is 100% WEIRD, there is a chance that theyre not actually related but it's still quite weird to do romantic acts with someone you openly call a sibling. disregarding that, tanizaki is a force to be reckoned with ngl, he's scary when he needs to be, his ability is strong and the way he utilizes it is amazing. he looks so harmless but he can actually kill you. i want his sweater right there it looks comfortable especially with the long sleeves i can hide my hands in as well
8. Zuko 🔥 Avatar: the Last Airbender
need i explain more. he's ZUKO. the ORIGINAL bad guy gets redemption arc, but done 100% RIGHT. they gave him a tragic backstory, stubborn and determined personality, funny personality and memorable quotes, and the most memorable hair journey. flameo hotman.
9. Anthony J Crowley 😈 Good Omens
i love him sm, he's so funny and cool, radiates sm gender envy too and i want to steal his entire closet. despite being a demon he's undeniably not Evil, he causes mischief efficiently, and i love efficiency.
10. Barbatos ☕ Obey Me
i don't know why he's my favorite he just is. he's so nice and kind in-game, he's efficient, competent, charming, i love him sm. he can basically do everything, a walking tea encyclopedia, likes heavy metal, and greatly dislikes rats. he can also control time and timelines?? so cool why dont people like barbatos more
and if you noticed that six of these fandoms contain demons/demonology, i'm wondering about that too.
i love tag games sm, thank you for tagging me again<3 despite liking tag games i dont know that many blogs enough to tag so if you see this you're very VERY much welcome to join in as well!

I wonder how Diluc handled the first pregnancy and the birth of surprise twins. Who did he go to for advice? How did he handle the mood swings (if there were any)? How much of a Mother Hen was he? First time mothers often labor for hours before their water breaks, how did he handle the anticipation? How did he handle the water breaking? Imagine being Diluc when the first Twin is born, being relieved and happy that everything is finally over, only for something that is definitely not the placenta to start making themselves known. Being confused and worried and then the realization that ‘oh archons there’s another one’ (the other twin: surprise motherfucker.exe)
Oh, those are very interesting questions!
First of all, if you followed the stories in my Family AU you know that even though the pregnancy was planned, Diluc used to struggle with the topic, scared he won't be a great dad for different reasons. So when he finally realised he'd be a good parent to his future child, his mind was set on providing both his wife and the baby. I'd say yes, he became a Mother Hen when Lady Ragnvindr told him the happy news, but it was an Extremely Cautious and Nervous Mother Hen. He literally treated his wife as if she was made of glass, at times as much as afriad to touch her, until she firmly put her foot down (with all the reassurance the doctor also gave the couple), reminding the man she needed him to be physcial with her, because in her hormonal state she would seek his embraces for comfort.
But the thing about Diluc is that even if he seems like an easily driven mad man, he actually has patience of a saint when it comes to the love of his life. Yes, he was confused at first about her mood swings and was constantly on edge, thinking he'd done something wrong (especially since the majority of them were caused by his night protecting endeavours early into the pregnancy) - but Adelinde was always there for the both of them, and basically the first solid lecturing he got was from her, piecing together some bits he had heard from Kaeya before.
Kaeya was the next person he went to for advice, for personal experience as a father. He also asked the Cavalry Captain's wife certain things he had noticed happening to his own wife, to make sure if it's okay and how he he was supposed regulate the situation and IF he actually could do that.
He rearranged his work schedule to be home at least 70% of the time, the spouses together picked and hired a couple more maids, during the last months moved the midwife into the Winery, so the pregnant woman always had a professional nearby, and in the sense of preparing everything for the child's immediate comfort after being born they too were efficient.
And when the day X actually came, no amount of training seemed to be at help when Lady Ragnvindr went into labor. Diluc wasn't reduced to a wreck only because his wife needed him and on that thought solely he was surviving, not leaving her side for the whole duration.
As soon as he heard the baby cry, he felt relief washing over him, almost missing when someone said it's a boy, - he instantly leaned to kiss his wife's forehead and praise her for how well she'd done. But when the midwife gasped in surprise and claimed there was another one, Diluc shared an eye contact with his beloved they both will never forget.
It was the day, when for the first time in a long while, the redhead was quietly crying, holding a baby in each arm.
Sure, many things had to be reconsidered, but after getting to hold them, his SONS, it was as if a huge weight was taken off his shoulders.
Being first-time parents was hard both for him and his wife in an emotional aspect, but they tried their best. As a result - two healthy happy boys, adoring their mom and dad to the moon and back.

Characters: Childe, Diluc, Kaeya, Kazuha, Xiao (separate)
Genre: Fluff + Scenarios
Summary: Snippets of the Genshin men with their pride and joys <3
CW: afab!reader + pregnancy + birth mention but no pronouns or descriptions for these present, spoilers for Childe’s real name, Xiao has a daughter, Childe has twins (boy and girl), Kaeya and Kazuha have a son, unspecified for Diluc, unspecified nightmare in Childe’s, petnames towards reader (darling -> Kaeya, my dove -> Kazuha), some self-doubt in Kaeya's and Xiao's, I don’t think Diluc’s is that good and Childe’s may appear rushed in one part but meh
a/n: I have the cutest ideas that make me the softest. I just hope I was able to get across that cuteness here <3
Childe
“Papa…” At the poking and shaking against his back, Childe sleepily blinks his eyes open. The room is dark, moonlight painting the walls a faint blue-white colour. Tilting his chin down the male catches a look at the top of your head, face nuzzled into his chest with his arms wrapped around you securely.
Again, small hands try to gain his attention, "P-papa...please."
There's a sudden surge of urgency that tightens his chest, the watery call of his name throwing him into protective mode. Slowly, as to not disturb you, Childe pulls his arms from you before turning over. The moment ocean-blue eyes meet teary ones of the same colour he's up and out of bed, kneeling in front of his children.
"Hey, hey, what's wrong?" he rushes, worry clear in everything he is and does - from his eyes to his voice and even to the way his hands fuss over the twins, one palm cupping each of their heads as he tries to soothe them. Though, when all that answers him is continued sniffles, Ajax's concern only grows. Left with the last course he can take, the male pulls the two into a hug, pouring every ounce of love and warmth he can into it. Quiet whispers of 'you're okay' and 'I'm here' fill the air, uncaring of the tears that stain his shirt.
Never before has he felt so useless as his children continue to shake and sob in his hold. What else is there for him to do? What would take away their tears? Archons he’d do anything to make sure they don’t cry like they are now, like their world is ending.
Instinctively Ajax’s embrace tightens, and somewhere along the line he began gently swaying the two, pressing comforting kisses to their foreheads.
Finally, after what felt like a heartbreaking eternity, their cries begin to fade. He waits a moment before trying again, "can you tell me what's wrong now? Why are you two crying?" Though he fears their answer the male bats them down, hoping to be the one they can fall back on.
His daughter hiccups, wiping at her eyes with the sleeve of her shirt, "W-We had a nightmare. Y-you-!" His eyes widen, hearing enough to grasp the situation. His shoulders slump just a little, glad that it’s not the worst of the worst that could’ve happened.
"Hey now, shhh, it’s alright. Nothing will happen to me or you or to anyone else, okay?" Ajax is quick to cut her off, seeing her start to choke on her sobs again. Never does he want them to think he or you would leave in any form, something he truly believes won’t happen any time soon.
His little girl nods, face planting back into his shoulder with another fresh wave of tears. He makes sure to pull his son back in as well, rubbing his hands up and down their backs. He smiles, even if they can’t see it, "Papa's got you, okay? I promise, and you know me, I never break my promises."
The three spend a little while more in their comforting hug before Ajax pulls back, effortlessly picking them both up and setting them down on the bed. "You two can sleep with us tonight. We'll keep the scary dreams away. And, as a treat, I'll make your favourites for breakfast tomorrow. Sound good?"
Though he has to shush his children's cheers in fear of waking you, he wouldn't have it any other way. It's a sign that they're feeling better after all. And as he pulls the blanket over the three of them, grateful that his kids are feeling better while wrapping his arms back around you all, Ajax thanks the gods and you for the tiny family he's been blessed with to love, protect and be loved by, intending to forever keep you all safe.
Diluc
The silence within the winery was not something new to its inhabitants and workers. Well, before the newest addition to the Ragnvindr family it was the norm at least. Now, such peace is a welcome blessing. So, when you returned one evening to a dead quiet home, your curiosity quickly peaked. Even when the baby wasn't making noise there was always at least some finite noise - the crackle of a fire, the almost silent footfalls of the winery's workers, the scribble of a pen. None of that could be heard though, and it was no later than six in the evening.
Toeing off your shoes, you take care to remain quiet. Your first thought is to check the living room. Ever since the birth of your child, Diluc could be found with the little one all over the house. It would be surprising to not see the two together in all honesty. One of the areas that's frequented more than the others is the main lounge space, the wide open section the perfect place for playtime.
Or, perhaps, it’s also the perfect place for nap time.
There, leaning back against the couch was the man himself, mop of red hair released from its usual confines and splaying everywhere. The male's ability to fall asleep even upright never fails to surprise you (you find this usually happens when he wants to rest his eyes for 'just a moment'). Before him lay a stack of papers, the smallest you've ever seen, pen laying unattended not too far. Though, above all other observations, the main eye catcher is the way your two most precious people are sleeping.
Your child, strapped safely in their carrying pouch (originally a gag gift from Kaeya, though proven very useful for when Diluc wants to work and spend time with his little one) has their head resting on their father's chest, cheek smooshed and mouth slightly parted. Diluc remains protective even while asleep, a hand placed securely against your child's back, keeping them close. What was important though was how at peace they were and who were you to ruin this calmness?
So, you take a seat on the matching chair, quietly waving Adelinde over and asking for something to drink before picking up a book. Really though, with how cute they are, you're sure you'll be focusing on the two redheads more than the novel.
Kaeya
When you presented the idea of going into town, Kaeya couldn't help but grow nervous. Shouldn't you rest more? You'd been extremely tired lately and on top of that the baby had been even more of a handful the last few days.
“Darling, I can go get groceries for us,” your husband offers, adjusting his son in his arms. There’s a smile on your face as you glance up from putting on your shoes. Joy blossoms in your heart at the sight of the man you love holding the product of your shared love. What makes the image all the more heartwarming is how alike your son is to his father.
Cooing his name, you straighten up, waking until you’re right in front of the pair, “I’ll be okay, I promise. Some fresh air would do me some good. Besides, it’s not like I’m going very far. I’ll be back in a couple hours, max.” For once at a loss on what to say, Kaeya reluctantly lets you go, now left alone with just his son for company.
He hates to admit it, even to you, but truth be told the male hasn’t the faintest clue what to do. Taking care of Klee or Bennett is one thing, but his own? The mere fact changes everything.
After lingering awhile longer at the door, Kaeya breathes in, turning to walk into the living room. "It seems it's just you and me now little guy." He smiles, gently bouncing the tiny human in his arms. Kaeya's shoulders relax just a little when he gets a happy giggle in response.
He's got this.
. . .
He does not got this.
After taking a seat on the ground Kaeya had spotted a picture book discarded across the room. Figuring that you must have been entertaining the little one with it the male grabs it, deciding that it would be a good start. All his confidence went down the drain though when he couldn't pull a single reaction from his carbon-copy son. Page after page, the boy would just stare at the pictures, not a thought behind his tiny eyes. Kaeya swears to the Archons above that at one point his kid even looked up at him once, a face that could only be read as 'what are you doing?' painted on it.
Sighing, Kaeya stares down at the picture in the book. For a while he just maintains eye contact with the woodland rabbit, cartoonish and with a carrot sticking out of its mouth. He thinks it's rather cute, something babies would definitely like. So why isn't his reacting?
"Almost done," he mumbles, slipping his eyes shut and flipping the page, turning the book back around for his son to see. The male already knows the one line printing in the book, ready to recite it and receive nothing in response.
He's interrupted before he even starts.
Kaeya's eyes fly open, locking on the little human sitting in front of him. There, clear as day, is his son, hand stuck in his mouth but with an undeniable smile plastered on his face. He does a double take, gaze flicking between his son and the picture in the book. "Do you like the snowflake, little one?" Again, louder this time, is a confirming coo, hand slipping from his toothless mouth to clap. Like he understood what his father was asking.
It's a shame you weren't there to see the brightest, most genuine smile Kaeya's ever had. Now, whenever he says 'snowflake' the little baby instantly smiles.
Kazuha
"Please... please..." you're close to tears at this point, a broken record of pleas falling from your lips. Nothing seems to work, feeding, changing, walking around, nothing will settle the poor little fussy baby of yours. You’re so close to giving up, about to settle into the chair within the nursery and just hope the little one tires himself out when approaching footsteps catch your attention.
Stepping through the doorway, that familiar head of white with a sole streak of red appears, an all too knowing smile on his face. "Good evening, my dove. Having some trouble?" Silently you nod, passing the little one over to him when asked nonverbally. "That's no good. I can't have my two favourite people crying, now can I?"
Calm as ever, Kazuha walks towards the crib, eyes never leaving the glossy red ones of his baby. Even as he sets his son down, his cries growing louder at the loss of his parent's warmth, Kazuha never loses that pleasant smile of his. The faint clank of the wooden mobile catches his attention, an idea coming to mind.
"Hush little one, look," he mutters. All at once you can feel the spring breeze coming through the window pick up, the vision clipped to Kazuha's shoulder blade lighting up. With the wind came the brightly coloured leaves Inazuma offers, the colours dancing around in a way much like when the male jumped high into the air, nature his aid.
Eyes closed in concentration, the gust swirls around the room before settling to the area around the crib and mobile. A shift occurs, and it's like the tiny wind becomes a being of its own, playful as it nudges against the hanging wood carvings. It appeared surprised at first, the sensations foreign. It tried again, and again another clank sounded, this time exciting the tiny wind. By now the baby's cries have stopped, tiny red eyes staring up, mouth agape. Leaves fall from the cluster as the elemental energy floats down, now face to face with the little one. It gently brushed against the child's face, something like rubbing noses together. But that's all it took; it was all giggles and clapping from there, and you, you finally got to relax, sinking into the chair more.
A tired smile spreads on your face, the sight of your bundle of joy happy heartwarming. That, and the smile on your husband's face doesn't go unnoticed by you either. Even with his eyes remaining shut, the sounds of delight alone are music to his ears, spurring him to continue his magic trick.
Xiao
Long after you retire for the night, finally gaining the much needed rest you deserve, the yaksha continues to stand guard. Gold eyes shift from the open balcony to where the little one rests, any noise or shift in the air unable to go unnoticed under his watch. He keeps his distance from the crib, fearing his karmic debt will harm the tiny baby you two created. Yet the moment Xiao's keen ears pick up the slightest whine, the beginning of his child's cries piercing the silence of night, it's like some other force far more powerfully takes control.
In a blur of green Xiao's beside his daughter, hands already reaching in to pick her up like he's seen you do many times before. There’s a rush of emotion coursing through his veins - his first desire is to let you sleep more, you’ve done a lot and he just wants to share the workload between the two of you. Secondly, there’s this ache that rings in his chest, it only hurts more and more the longer his child wails. Her cries are different from the piercing screams of babies in town. Instead of wincing and growing irritated, Xiao worriedly stares down at the bundle in his arms, wondering how to soothe her.
“It’s alright, I got you,” he whispers. There’s a tiny part of him that feels stupid for saying that, the phrase foreign on his tongue and unfitting of his usual character. You’ve said it before though and it worked, so the greater whole of him pushes past the self-served embarrassment.
However, as his daughter refuses to settle Xiao feels the hope he had that he had this dwindle. He begins to run through all the tricks he's seen you do and in his flurry of thoughts, his eyes dart to you. By some miracle you still managed to remain asleep, blankets draped up to your gently rising and falling shoulders.
You would've calmed her by now... he thinks, deflating further. Just as he's about to give up and wake you, accept that he's just not fit for the job as a dad, an idea finds its way into his thoughts.
Mixed in with the silence of the night and the tiny cries of his child, faintly the melody of Xiao humming can be heard. It takes a couple beats but the tune catches the tiny baby's attention, her sobs dying down into happy giggles and gurgles. Relief fills him as he unconsciously smiles softly, rocking his arms as he begins to walk around the room. His feet, with a mind of their own, take the two to the balcony, a gentle breeze ruffling his hair.
No longer in a state of despair, bright yellow eyes much like her father's gaze up at the star-littered sky, wonder in her expression. Maybe he does have the capability to be a dad.

I can’t imagine Kaeya having a big family of his own, but the first time his wife is pregnant 🥹🥹
Maybe just one son who looks exactly like Kaeya and Diluc is like ugh great there’s two of them.
I can also see Kaeya with a daughter who loves to annoy uncle Diluc in an affectionate way. Diluc acts displeased when Kaeya asks him to watch her but deep down he loves her ☺️.
Bonus : Diluc’s wife sees Diluc being soft with Kaeya’s daughter and thinks we’re having 50 NOW >:)
Family Agenda Concept 05
series m.list
I adore the idea of Kaeya only having one dear child, and he visits the Ragnvindr household which has like... almost a dozen for free babysitting.
I feel like Kaeya having a son (not to be stereotypical) would be very fulfilling for him?? As someone who was abandoned by his own father. It's kind of like, he can see his reflection in his son and he'd do everything to not be a terrible dad?
But the cliché of Kaeya having a daughter, the daddy's best girl concept is just too cute not to pass!!! For Family Agenda, I think I'd give him a son though.
My HC is that Kaeya's son is incredibly shy, soft-spoken, and cute??? Just really reaaallyyy polite. Diluc can't even complain whenever Kaeya comes over because his nephew just looks at him with little doe eyes, worried that he's being a bother (nooo you're not, it's your dad!!) so Diluc just– brings in his nephew whenever Kaeya and their spouses are busy. Spoils his nephew because Kaeya is actually a very responsible parent who doesn't give his kid sweets after dinner time or lets them out past curfew (Diluc thinks it's because Kaeya only has one child, whereas Diluc has several spares- dhufidwkhsiwe) ((true story I have an only child cousin and I'm the youngest of four))
Diluc's spouse getting baby fever 24/7 whenever they see Diluc with another kid. They can easily rope Diluc into having more. Like, what's the issue? You're both healthy, young adults. You're both overflowing with money. And you're both completely capable of allocating your time and attention for your kids! (kind of)
What's one more in Diluc's big family?

The former Ragnivindr son knew that he must be freezing to the bone, and he does feel quite bad for bringing Adelinde further into his chill—yet he was needing some form of comfort that he only hoped she would put up with for now. He still struggled with the knowledge that her love for him and Diluc was unconditional, regardless of what abhorrent acts either of them may have committed or may commit in their lives.
It's something that kept him up at night, admittedly. He’s had many nightmares where he truly becomes the threat he’s always been worried about, bringing those he cares most about to harm. Adelinde’s face was one that popped up more frequently than others.
He would not be able to live with the guilt if he were to ever raise his hand against her in any way.
A soft, amused huff leaves Kaeya as she gave a light jest in reference to the cold of his home, which was fortunately warming up ever-so-slightly.
All thanks to her.
When nudged to finally stand so the two of them could get dry, a quiet whine escaped him. He felt utterly exhausted and weak, but he knew she was right. Peeling himself off of her, he held the towel firmly and wrapped it tighter around himself as he moved to stand. Helping her to her feet as well, he used a corner of the towel to wipe his face some more, an errant sniffle escaping him.
“Sorry for getting your clothes wet, Miss Addie. I should have some articles lying around that you can use so yours can dry,” he murmured after pulling his hand away from his face. He shuffled over towards his bedroom and opened the dresser, taking some extra clothes out for if she’d like to change. Either way, he needed to get his own, and perhaps go take a warm bath to try and wash away the shame from today.
“I’m—going to take a bath. It’s late, so if you’re feeling tired, please take my bed. It’s the very least I can do for you.”
( 🧹 ) OH DEAR. she lets out a surprised squeak ( one she hopes that the young master doesn't hear ; she's rather embarrassed about it ) as the rapidly chilling cryo allogene whose clothing was still sopping wet pulled her in closer. this was not in jest like he would've done in his youth but a desperate search for solace that could only be gifted by a guardian. she would never leave him hanging or turn him away -- no matter what acts the blunette would commit. as long as he needed her she would be there.
ADELINDE COULD LIVE with wet clothing. she could live with it if the cause of it was to bring comfort to kaeya who needed it more than anything. the evening and its storm was familiar and it had left her worried. gladdened by him not pulling away from her touch she relaxed , rubbing at his back affectionately as she pressed a gentle kiss into the tresses of wet hair.
SHE NODS ONCE , content in his response. she'd keep tabs , since she had little else to do if both of the masters were . . gone from the winery. call it a gut feeling that the master of the house would be gone in a few days ; which leaves her to absolutely make sure that kaeya can and will put in a word to jean to get some time off.
NOT THAT . . IT had to be from his hand that would pen the request - the head maid had the penmanship skills to forge a rather authentic written letter in the young master's hand. perhaps a bit illegal but it was for a good cause ! plus , even if caught she highly doubted that she'd get into major ramifications due to something so insignificant.
❝ GOOD. IF YOU don't i just know you'll cause all of mondstadt to chill over if you don't give yourself a break . . ❞ she pauses , a small sheepish smile hinting at the head maid's lips as she did her best not to laugh -- it was a joke ( or meant to be ) nothing more. while the temperature in the apartment was a testament to his current mental state , she didn't believe that he'd ever get that far.
SHE HAD SUCH faith in him.
❝ ALRIGHT SPEAKING OF chill . . the both of us will catch one ourselves if we remain in these clothes for much longer. up up -- time for you to get dry completely , hm ? ❞
