Coughs so I've gotten REALLY into quizzes lately, esp fill in the blank types that test how good your memory is. Sporcle is a super fun site that hosts a bunch of quizzes like that!! Except I'm apparently a masochist and like the really challenging quizzes with hundreds of answers! So bc I couldn't find a Pokemon one that has ALL of the main series characters, I made one myself!!!
336 answers (with some duplicates). 25 minute timer (bc that's the max amount of time they let you have). How well do you know the main game series. Test your knowledge and find out ;)
Also even after inputting all the answers for this quiz I still wasn't able to get a hundred percent lmao
Forgot a couple names smh
Take the quiz and let me know how you do 👀 ALSO if there are any notable characters missing please let me know and I can add them in! I didn't want to make the quiz IMPOSSIBLE lol so there are a lot of minor characters I left out, but if there's a really important NPC on there that I forgot feel free to remind me 🙏
(And. A small hint. Bc I couldn't figure out how to get it to work. For N, you need to enter N and then a space after to get him to register lol)

Hiii Rye, how does your tagging system work? I'm guessing it has something to do with Toki Pona but I'm curious
That's a great question, let's go through some of the tags I use in this blog.
Also. This will be a bit long.
GENERAL TAGS
The most well known and used is ofc, #ryeblog ,which is given to any post I reblog. It comes from "rye" and "reblog". Another interesting fact is that when I reblog many posts in a short time, I call it a "ryeblitz" (ryeblog + blitz [German for lightning).
For original text-based posts of mine, the tag is #handful of grains, which comes from the fact that I am Rye; but also because originally there was a tag called #sack of grain that never got used and was intended for large text-based original posts.
Images and videos get #pics and flicks, except if these are art. If the art was posted by the artist it gets #art of them and if it's someone else's art it gets #art of those.
#letters to rye will be the tag used in this post, as it is for the asks I answer.
#poll #tag game #ask game #quiz Self explanatory.
Prev tags get marked with #Previously on Tags: and then I mark my answer to those with a #My reaction to that information:
MEDIA TAGS
Quite self explanatory, if I'm reblogging some cute art from blorbo from my shows, tags would look like
#ryeblog #art of them #my shows
Must be understood that this system isn't 100% reliable. If I don't have a tag for a media because I have no knowledge of it or even interest; it won't get a tagged or have a tag.
Imagine this, a fanart featuring characters from the shows A, B, C and D. I only have tags for B and C. Only appliable media tags are #B and #C.
This is why you can find stuff like few Chainsaw Man fanart in my blog, but a tag for Chainsaw Man doesn't actually exist. When I reblog Out of Touch Thursday, I don't do it with a tag for the Lucky Star anime. Characters don't have tags in my system.
I can't give a full list of all of them, but here's the top 45 as of now:
#moomin
#deltarune
#sparklecare
#toh (The Owl House)
#sonic the hedgehog
#dhmis (Don't Hug Me I'm Scared)
#su (Steven Universe)
#tf2 (Team Fortress 2)
#pokemon
#lwa (Little Witch Academia)
#hatsune miku [Ok. It's ironic that this is a character. There's no tag for Vocaloid btw. Cuz of my lack of knowledge on the matter.]
#mlp
#minecraft
#fnaf (Five Nights at Freddy)
#undertale
#bluey
#danganronpa
#homestuck
#breaking bad
#cunk on earth [It applies to other media with Philomena Cunk like "Cunk on Britain"]
#neil cicierega [Technically a person. Applies to all his work. Forgot to mention, artists and bands also fit in this category.]
#tove jansson [Again. A person. This tag exists to not tag her with #moomin in non-Moomin issues.]
#talking heads [Again, a band.]
#jerma985 [A person.]
#spiderman
#undertale 2 [Yep. That's a game. A parody fan-game RPG of Undertale. This tag isn't for Deltarune. I found many people tagging Deltarune as Undertale 2.]
#animal crossing
#hetalia
#loz (Legend of Zelda)
#adventure time
#epithet erased
#lemon demon [Again, an artist; also not everything Neil Cicierega does is for Lemon Demon. This is why this tag is also a thing.]
#omori
#mcyt (Minecraft YouTuber)
#tally hall [A band.]
#barbie
#doctor who
#ghibli
#tetris
#touhou
#ytp
#ella minnow pea
#ena
#they might be giants [A band.]
#alexkansas [Applies to all his work. Currently MISTERMANTICORE]
NOT THAT SPECIFIC TAGS. THEY ARE THE SAME LEVEL AS THESE
#the past for the stuff about the past. The limit of how old has to be the thing to be tagged with this is 20 years.
#language is for everything linguistics, scripts, phonetics, anything of that matter and related. This tag isn't for swear swords, those bitches don't fucking get tagged.
#chemistry #geology #toki pona [An artistic constructed language by Sonja Lang] #handwriting #cursive #flags [Because vexillology was too long and I never knew if I was writing it right] #maps #biology #philately [#stamps is out of use] #reaction image ,etc.
MEET THE SPECIFICS
These tags exists because I have decided to.
TAGS THAT USE TOKI PONA WORDS
#pilin This Toki Pona word describes many concepts, like feelings, emotions, the heart in its both physical and emotional form. However, in this blog, this tag shall only be used for the heart (organ or not) and heart shapes and heart-shaped things.
#kili This word describes fruits and vegetables, all the edible parts of a plant. I also use this tag for stuff made with kili, like French fries, jam and jelly or milkshakes.
#mun This word doesn't just describe the Moon but also all night-sky objects and space objects. This tag replaced the now abandoned #astronomy as stuff like a blanket with sun and moon motifs or the fanart of a furry on the Moon aren't quite related with the science of space.
#kala This word describes fish and all the aquatic animals. Axolotls, whales, jellyfish and crabs may not be fish, but they sure are kala.
#pan As a Spanish speaker you probably have realised this word is for bread. That's right, it's for grains and all grain products. Stuff that is pan but not bread: tortilla, beer, peanut butter, crackers, communion wafers, tejuino. This tag isn't for pansexuality, Tumblr just colours it like that.
#pipi The word for insects and all the little bugs and crechurs, so it includes stuff like spiders and worms.
#waso The word for birds, flying animals and winged animals.
#soko The word for fungi. This tag replaced #mycology.
#akesi The word for reptiles. This tag isn't used for "non-cute animals" as the original meaning of the word expressed and was corrected in 2021.
#kijetesantakalu The word to describe procyonids and musteloids, like ferrets, racoons and tanukis. For the non-Toki Pona speakers. The reason why this word is long and very specific is because it's an April Fools joke that just got too popular.
#in front of them sensors I wears glasses, I like characters that wear them too. So this tag is for that. It also applies to stuff like sport/lab goggles, sunglasses and other eyewear.
#the florist's For flowers. The name is as in a flower shop, just like the butcher's or the chemist's.
#city made of light For photographs of, or art depicting urban light during the night. The night scared us, so we killed it; some beautiful examples of this massacre to our health are Times Square, the Las Vegas strip or Hong Kong neon capital of the East.
#KÖT For cats! The word "köt" isn't for cat in any language btw.
#i do the squeaking For ratas and mice. Tag name based on that one post with the mousegirl house wife.
I don't tag furries for some reasons: First is, what is a furry? Are Moomins furry? Are Sonic characters furries? Furries' opinion on what is furry and what is not a large broad spectrum of thoughts. Second is so people don't block furries from me. If you don't wanna see furries, go and try and see how many tags you need to block to see none, and you will still see some cuz not everyone tags. Also, furries don't get tagged any of the animal tags.
#boyfriendposting Those posts that are like "yeah, sorry that your boyfriend..."
#fake posts Those posts that are made to look like many and have some theme.
#fauxnetics People trying to spell pronunciation using non-standarized methods like the IPA, usually just causing more confusion. Example: "How do you pronounce Chara? Car-uh, Care-uh, Chair-uh or Char-uh?"
#illinois chess Games (doesn't have to be chess, but if chess, funky non-standard chess) [usually board games] with strange setting or rules, impossible to understand. Tag named after this thing from 20020.
#present as the past from the future Meme/joke posts describing modern/contemporany history or the current world as how we speak of the past. Example: "Cowboys were a sort of itinerant warrior class common in Meiji-era Texas."
#rainbow #emoji #ethanol [Alcohol found in drinking alcoholic beverages] #radiation #tbh creature #tea #picrew #9/11 #plush #tell-o-phone [Telephones] #tell-o-vision [Televisions] #jesus #gastronintestinal issues #isobutyl propionic acid [Ibuprofen] #rain #butane [Alkane of four carbon atoms, fuel in cigarette lighters] #loss ['Loss' by Tim Buckley for Ctrl+Alt+Del] #snow #blåhaj #R-Ë-PLANE [Airplanes and similar aircraft.] #ZUG [German for trains. Anything on rails.] #mpreg [Male pregnancy] #cool S [This one.] #aspirin ,etc, probably there are more.
I hope this ask has answered your doubts. There's probably more tags out there.
Now for an example.
Example.
Tag-relevant details: A Sparklecare Cometcare AU fan art piece made and posted by Edward featuring Barry Ill and Uni Sock Cornelius in a night picnic. Uni is wearing her rose-tinted goggles, holding a milkshake with a cherry on top, there's another one present next to Barry. Barry is holding a sandwich with visible lettuce and tomato, there's another one next to Uni. The picnic blanket has the colours of the rainbow. There are stars and hearts around them, the picnic case also had a heart detail. On the field there are white small flowers.
Tags: #ryeblog #art of them #sparklecare #in front of them sensors #kili #pan #rainbow #pilin #mun #the florist's
The tags after the Sparklecare one could be in any order.
And this is an ideal case. As I have stated, I'm not 100% reliable and this sytem isn't either. I sometimes miss some tags.
As a final detail. Comments about the post will go after all of these tags and will have proper sentence capitalization and punctuation. This is the hierarchy the tags go which I sometimes miss too.

Art Klaudt: Driving across the Cairngorms due to a car crash on the A9, listening to Wish You Were Here
Anonymous 1: unknown
ava: the thing that comes to mind is just my 5th grade teacher’s face and voice, and the knowledge that this was the year my dad left (he came back a few years later) but that moment feels separate from the timeline of my life
kate: Pokemon Black and White were released and all of my friends were going to buy it and play together since there was a feature where you could visit a town in someone else's game. It was the first Pokemon game I had bought since Crystal. We played it in the orchestra room before school and I have a picture somewhere of everyone lined up on their gameboys on the band bleachers.
Anonymous 2: in an old church while on vacation, seeing tombs made me suddenly realize that i was going to die one day and i broke down crying
Lucas: I remember my best friend DeAndre from kindergarten, I also remember the layout of the classroom
Anonymous 3: Sitting on the grass in my parents' back garden with a feeling of total dread and despair because I didn't know what to do with the time in front of me, just in that one day, it was summer and the sun felt hostile, I had no idea what to do, no creative urge, nothing, I felt worthless and so shocked by my lack of volition. I wanted so badly to do something but had absolutely no idea at all what it could possibly be. Then I wrote about it in my diary.
Anonymous 4: My teacher giving me 12/12 on a spelling test because I was sick the day of but always got perfect scores, or the birth of my sister
Anonymous 5: My homeroom teacher expressing exasperation that we were to her evidently uneducated due to our improper use of colored pencils
superswag: I was 1
v0w0v: My best friend. We would write stories together- she was so good at writing, she was good at a lot of things. We were 10 and she was studying mathematics that most college students struggle with while writing novellas that could have been written by an adult. I admired her so much. We were in quiz bowl together and she got us third place in nationals.
Anonymous 6: Accidentally spending 50$ on an online webstore by repeatedly clicking a button and having to sit outside for the night.
Anonymous 7: being exposed to and developing my interest in history. up to that point my concept of reality was what i could experience in my immediate surroundings (peripheral perth, western australia) and i didn't even grasp that there were other places in a material sense, let alone a past. i didn't know about wars, or that all the music i heard on the radio wasn't current/domestically produced.
binnie: Enjoying the companionship I had at the school for mentally disabled kids.
Anonymous 8: Don't remember
April M. Mildew: If I was seven, this must be the year of my mother's first seizure. It was in the basement bathroom. My sister and I were there. We were brushing our teeth and then she was on the floor. I think we called 911.

i hope u dont mind me adding additional advice!!!
1 re: room control moves, the best room control move is discharge so generally i recommend having an electric type on your team in general. pikachu and shinx are both partner/player options (at least, shinx is available in explorers and super i believe?) that can learn that one.
2. super mystery dungeon is Hard. always have at least one ranged move on your player and partner in super and keep an escape orb on you in case things get sticky so you dont lose your inventory. this is good advice in most pmds but especially super
3. if you wanna get a certain player mon you can use the guides! gates just lets you pick as does super i believe? but for rescue team and explorers you can use these!
rescue team: https://forums.serebii.net/threads/pmd-personality-quiz-guide.165994/
explorers: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ds/955859-pokemon-mystery-dungeon-explorers-of-sky/faqs/58014
4. in rescue team a few starting movesets areeee. weird. notably: if you play as cubone you do not start out with any attacking moves. i cant recall if any other starters are like that but yeah you learn bone club at level 7 and you start at level 5 so. thats fun for your first dungeon or two. this isnt a problem for rescue team DX to my knowledge though (also id just recommend DX a lot more, it has a lot more quality of life changes. it doesnt have a 99 floor dungeon required for its postgame. etc.)
Probably a silly question but idk much about it so which pokemon mystery dungeon do I start with
oh! any youd prefer! theyre all disconnected from each other as stories so Technically theres no Real Proper Order, buuuuuut. im hard fixated on this series so ill vouch for em individually via the differences i know :]
red/blue rescue team: red is on gba, blue is a ds port. im not sure th proper difference there? theyre just a really good time, nod nods. only caveat is that its the first in the series, and there were some Serious QoL fixes in th next few games ''> > like significantly more inventory space, better movesets, better recruit mechanics... which is to say, start here if you dont wanna backtrack and experience The Horrors like i did. being a gen3 game it does Not hold back on u imo.. has a lot of fun postgame stuff if you really love the gameplay.
explorers of sky: typical fan favorite iirc! (technically the successor to time/darkness, but it has More Stuff and More QoL. the mildly adjusted one.) my personal favorite also. surprise surprise. has an entire games worth of postgame AND sidestories featuring the npcs. it is so full of love ok. a very good place to start if you just want a good taste of the series as a whole imo. also FOOTPRINT MINIGAAAMEEEEEE ‼‼‼‼🎉🎉🎉🎉
gates to infinity: divisive. i personally loved it, but its gameplay Is a bit different from th previous ones. iirc a bit shorter too? it also almost solely features unovan pokemon in terms of Actual Recruits n such, so its a much smaller roster. still made me deeply emotional tho, i do not stand for gti slander in this house. just a sliiight bit of a toneshift, for lack of a better descriptor.
super mystery dungeon: ok so i havent actually. played this one yet... ''> > but! its the second up there in terms of Dearly Beloved By Fans asfar as i know, BUT. id recc playing this one after any others tbh, just bc it seems like itd hit a bit harder that way. but thats just personal (uneducated) opinion, and you can certainly just beeline here if u want. nothing stopping ya. o7
as a little tip for all of these, uh. 1) reviver seeds are your friend, 2) you mostly cant evolve till endgame, so dont pick purely on final evo if youre intent on Picking your starter rather than taking the quiz result, 3) bring room control moves/items for the love of god monster houses dont PLAY.
#super is a weirdly designed game that doesnt give you any time to level naturally so it is. easy to fall behind.#that said i Adore super and its probably my second favorite pmd it just#has its issues#veespeaks

lol imagine if soni and the first years or dorm leaders are isekai'ed to pokemon mystery dungeon? what pokemon would they be? and whould team up
I took a quick quiz to see what Pokemon Soni would be in the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon universe, and funnily enough, she's a Charmander 🤣 The world really is going for her on that agenda huh?
On that note, I don't know much about the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon series, but I do think it's interesting 👀 so forgive me if I don't know anything alksdjfla-
First years would have Ace as a Scorbunny or a Pichu, Deuce as a Riolu, a Torchic, or a Piplup, Jack as a Rockruff, Epel as an Applin or Phanpy, and Sebek as a Yamper or Snubbul.
I feel like the first years would band together as a group, mostly because Soni's the only one who has any knowledge of Pokemon Moves. She's a little wary being a Charmander, but thankfully, she's raised one, so she knows about their health conditions.
Ace, Deuce, and Soni are the ones to be in a group while Jack, Epel, and Sebek alternate depending on the mission and what they need to do. The other two would be running the house and keeping it tidy while the others are away.
Dorm Heads would be Riddle as a Ponyta or Flareon, Leona is a toss-up between a Litleo or Luxio, Azul would be an Octillery or maybe even a Sobble if I stretch it, Kalim would fit with Maractus or Ludicolo, Vil would be Alolan Vulpix or even a Roserade, Idia... might be a Rotom (I am unsure for him), and Malleus is an Umbreon. He fits the vibes for it and I'm here for it.
I'm unsure if any of them would work together, but if they were in this situation, they'd definitely do their hardest to survive. Soni's just watching both teams like, "Now you understand my pain from starting from the bottom-up-"

here is a post of Why I Like Nanamaru Sanbatsu which may or may not also be a Reasons Why You Should Watch Nanamaru Sanbatsu but it’s not made with the intent of persuasion and more of me just gushing over things because this isn’t spoiler friendly
1) Niche Sport
I’m not a stranger to “Sport but it doesn’t involve Ball or Sweat”. That’s a lie, the players sweat a lot in Chihayafuru. The fact that Sasaijma (and then another character in the later chapters in the manga) refer to Karuta is a reason enough to pick up the series. Hikaru no Go was one of my earlier sports anime as well. It’s not like I was a fan of Go or Karuta either but the way the characters wholeheartedly loved what they were doing (and competitively), it made me love it as well. The same definitely goes for Quiz Bowl. While the two I listed were something I completely had no clue how the rules go, Quiz Bowl is a bit more obvious so it’s easier to get into.
(kinda hate these promo pics because there looks like so many fcking charas but really you just need to remember like 5 of them)
2) Nerdy Protag in a Sports anime
Actually coming from YowaPeda, Crunchyroll recommended this amongst other things. YowaPeda did the trope a lot better, given that you’d never associate an Otaku with Biking while a Bookworm being associated with Quiz Bowl does not seem unheard of. But the idea of a nerdy protagonist in a competitive sport was still an allure.
And oops, I think Koshiyama is a cutie so there’s a huge bias towards that. The fact that Horie Shun who voices Enta Jinnai from Sarazanmai voices Koshiyama Shiki gave me a laugh and he actually fits his role very well. Further emphasizes his cuteness without Enta’s weird gay crush lol
3) Ishikawa Kaito
I’m not above watching anime for seiyuu reasons alone but I actually went in blind with this series and to my surprise one of my favs was in it. I’d known Kaito mostly for Kageyama Tobio first, but he’s gone through so many other roles that I enjoy (Kaki from Pokemon SM, Iida from BokuHero, Mimura Subaru from 2.43) and I’ve watched a lot of seiyuu events/radios with him so I’m just a big fan of him in general. Dunno if I should have just merged this point with the next but-
4) Mikuriya Chisato
Kaito has The Range and can do whatever role he wants (I’m most impressed by his role as Alan from BNA) but I think I have a weakness for when he’s slightly an asshole. Mikuriya gave off the generic rival trope, which he kind of is. I got some Subaru vibes from him as well. I don’t know if he’s canonically handsome, but yes I think he’s very good looking for an anime character. Plus the fact that he’s The Cool Guy but is participating in such a sport as Quiz Bowl. AND the moe gap that is his feminine sounding first name and the possibility that he might also actually be an otaku is 👌👌👌👌
My friend had tagged something with him as “Chazz Princeton with a haircut” and while Not Entirely, he is the “We are not friends, we are rivals but I interact and help you enough that we are practically friends but i will continue to deny it” and I love that trope. The way he’s so not interested in Gorls or Nonsense reminds me of Manga Manjoume, though nowhere as serious because he is not above nonsense himself.
5) Fukami Mari
The moment she was introduced, I had very low expectations for her. Of course she is the one that drags Koshiyama into the Quiz Bowl world BUT she doesn’t fall into the trope of “Female is very good at The Thing, BUT Newbie Male MC does it better than her almost immediately”. I’m so glad for that because as you go on with the series, she is very much an entire character and not just a female support cast.
She loves Quiz Bowl but she’s not the best or even very good at it. Her childhood friend from another school (which I was 75% betting that it was going to be a male and a potential love interest) turned out to be a female friend. Instead of “cat fight”, they are still very amicable towards each other and support each other but also acknowledge each other as rivals. The fact that Yuki had only started Quiz Bowl because of Mari but liked it enough to continue on by herself, I think that’s really great.
The anime doesn’t get to it, but she confronts her brother about why he quit Quiz Bowl and challenges him. She has her own goals and ambitions and you see her working on it. She also has her strengths and weaknesses and is a vital addition to the Buzou Quiz Team. Fukami Mari is A Good Girl and I won’t tolerate any slander towards her. The way the beginning of the series sexuallizes her via putting her and Koshiyama into generic anime situations is so uncomfortable but I’m glad they move past that later.
Also since their group isn’t technically a Club (?) Mari isn’t just Female Manager. A plus to Quiz Bowl being Co-Ed sport.
6) Quiz Questions
I like trivia. It’s a little harder to guess the questions along with the anime because you’d have to pause all the time and half the time the contestants are going to buzz in early before you hear the entire question. Unfortunately, unless you actually are a fan of random knowledge or a huge nerd, the questions might actually be hard as well. I literally only knew about 3 questions asked in the entire series and its the anime/manga related ones lol. Still, I enjoyed seeing the characters draw their conclusions and to know what each character’s strong and weak points were. (Mikuriya using Math to calculate the Day of the Week from the past was 😚👌)
7) Side Characters
The first one I’m thinking is obviously Sonohara Akira. The moment of his first appearance, I had a hunch that it wasn’t exactly as it looked. He’s a little schemer but he has his own code of ethics, so he’s not all that bad. (Also hes A Gamer, so Relatable.) The fact that he’s related to Sonohara of Asagaoka makes it all the more interesting because they're’ so different. The way everyone reacts to him is so interesting because he doesn’t take it seriously while everyone else does. My favorite interactions with him aside from the Akiba Squad are the ones with Ookura. (I actually prefer to ship them over Niina/Akira lol)
Sasajima, mysterious Quiz Master with a past related to Fukami’s brother, who used to go to the Prestigious Quiz King School. Character wise, he doesn’t seem interesting but I love his idea of what a Quiz Bowl should be. My favorite parts of a series is when they love the thing they do, and that having fun is what is the most important. Of course you have to be fairly good at the thing first to be able to enjoy yourself freely but he never brags and is a supportive senpai.
Jinko. She’s cute. That’s good enough for me lol. I guess her Electronics Thing is also pretty cool. I like seeing the Sasajimas interact.
8) Ship
Okay, well, its obvious where I fall here. I don’t remember the last time I’ve watched such a generic sport series with a one on one protag vs rival. I’m not above shipping the “obvious/main” ship, as SasuNaru and Edgewright are some of my ships. However I didn’t ship Akira/Hikaru and I don’t ship KageHina but I do ship something like Manjoume/Judai and if asked MakoHaru vs RinHaru, I’d pick the latter, so it might just be a matter of tastes and I won’t fall immediately into every “rival” ship.
So why would I ship Mikuriya/Koshiyama? Because I love it when the Cool Guy falls for the Nerd and EXTRA POINTS if the Cool Guy is also secretly a nerd too. When I mean secretly a nerd, I don’t mean Mikuriya being on quiz bowl but that he might be a closet Otaku. (ImaSaka is everything about this trope.)
Anyway, they are the main two rivals in the series, so of course they acknowledge each other. Koshiyama took it so dramatically but in the past, nobody cared about his presence, let alone think that he’s a Threat. Mikuriya is a Hot Shot and thinks he’s better than everyone but this newb with potential beat him one time (unofficially) so he’s automatically curious.
Even though it is Hot Blooded Competition, Mikuriya always seems to encourage and cheer Koshiyama on (in his own rival-y way of course) whenever he feels down about not being strong enough to compete with him. (When they were lining up for the Third round at Asagaoka) Even when Koshiyama lost, after Mikuriya had a huge handicap, Mikuriya tells him he’ll take him on anytime. The fact that he wants to do Quiz Bowl with (against) him, is practically Sports Anime confession. “I won’t wait for you, Git Gud” “Okay I will Git Gud so we can fight again” *Fist Bump* What are you guys doing.
It might just be the art style but there is a copious amount of blushing happening every time the two interact. Also that height difference!! Mikuriya is 172 while Koshiyama is 153, I fucking love it.
Uhhhh that’s about it. I would like to gush more but there’s only a few chapters of the manga that’s been fan translated and it’s not even half of what’s actually out there. (I think the manga is complete by now?) There’s only one anime season of the series, and I doubt there’s going to be more so RIP me.

Sorry to continue with the pokemon train of thought, do you really think pokemon Showcases and Contests are the same? one involves battling while the other one doesnt. I guess just wanna know more of ur thoughts on it since in DP It was cool to see ash and dawn learn from each others battling, while the pokemon showcases seem so different. Also I thought the Showcases were in the game too that u even got a costume pikachu? Thnx for pointing how the Showcases judging system is so rigged >o
No, it’s fine! I have a “non ml talk” tag for a reason; so people can blacklist it if they don’t want to hear me talk about random non-Miraculous stuff.
And yes, the judging system is ABSOLUTELY just-- D:<
(Just a note on Cosplay Pikachu: she’s only used for the contests in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire; showcases themselves aren’t part of the games.)
Anyway, showcases are just watered-down versions of contests, and I say that while knowing that there’s stuff like Poke Puff baking themes and additional challenges and everything.
I like the idea of the humans performing with the Pokemon, and getting them all styled and pretty. I like forcing the contestants into a quiz to prove that they’re knowledgeable with Pokemon.
However, look at the rest from the perspective of the Pokemon themselves. By the show’s logic, any Pokemon can be good if they work hard, right?
Which is cool, I like that! Every Pokemon should be able to have potential!
But... showcases aren’t really like that. Showcases are more specifically geared so that you would have to get certain Pokemon of certain types for specific events. The more specific they make the event (like Rhyhorn Herding), the more they ostracize Pokemon who may not have the capabilities to do that event. Other Pokemon will automatically have the advantage because they have the movesets or body type to work with it.
Look at Poke Puff creation. What if a Pokemon doesn’t have hands and doesn’t have Psychic power? Automatically, they’re at a disadvantage. It’s not like a contest where it’s just the trainer and the Pokemon they chose and they just use the moves that they worked on together.
You can even see it in the show. Specific Pokemon have specific traits that are useful for that contest. It’s a good idea, but it discourages Pokemon diversity and encourages gathering Pokemon of specific types/weights/etcetera. (It’s noticed easiest in Serena’s rival, Miette, where--oh, look at that! Slurpuff, a Pokemon associated with sweets, and Meowstic, a Psychic type!)
Oh, and there’s also the fact that, unlike contests, showcases are girls-only competitions. That’s why contestants get Princess Keys and go onto become Kalos Queen.
Y’know, because the guys aren’t allowed to play dress-up with their Pokemon or dress-up themselves. They’re not allowed to participate in these quizzes or bake Poke Puffs.
Remember back in Gen 3 where May had not one, but two male rivals for contests, one of whom beat her in the Hoenn Grand Festival? Even Dawn still had a male rival in Kenny.
There’s none of that here. It takes the “male trainer does gyms, female trainer does the beauty-focused side thing,” that the show does to an extreme.

JOANNA DE BRAGANZA / / CHALLENGE 004
eleven tests completed & eleven explainations wrote out.
SOUL TYPE TEST | the sage
A Sage soul is one whose role in life is collective expression, communicating big ideas with as many as possible. Natural extraverts, playful expression is fundamental to the Sage’s nature, though they are more adept at entertaining an audience than in coming up with original ideas. They are born attention-seekers, very much at home in front of an audience, taking centre stage. The bigger the audience the better, but any audience will do. The natural goal of any Sage is to express the highs and lows of life for all to see, sharing lifes lessons in an appealing way to create shared understanding. All soul types can manifest positively or negatively in any given moment, as the individual chooses. When manifesting negatively, Sages lapse into ORATION, i.e. hogging the spotlight, loving the sound of their own voice. The positive manifestation is COMMUNICATION, being on the same wavelength as the audience. Famous Sages include Mae West, Oscar Wilde, Bill Clinton, Jim Carrey
NOTE: reading through the soul type was very on-par with joanna’s very person, i would class her as a YOUNG SAGE who chases fame as nowdays celebraties do. she hogs the spotlight, the loves the sound of her own voice - what else could she be?
MBTI TEST : entp-a ( the debater )
The Debater personality type is the ultimate devil’s advocate, thriving on the process of shredding arguments and beliefs and letting the ribbons drift in the wind for all to see. Debaters don’t do this because they are trying to achieve some deeper purpose or strategic goal, but for the simple reason that it’s fun. No one loves the process of mental sparring more than Debaters, as it gives them a chance to exercise their effortlessly quick wit, broad accumulated knowledge base, and capacity for connecting disparate ideas to prove their points.
NOTE: i was surprised, i thought her mbti would come out as something a little more dramatic rather than chasing knowledge or logic in it’s most intense form. i’m not too agreeing with the result, but maybe i can use this information to strengthen her person - and i like the ‘devil’s advocate’ side to it.
CREEPIEST THING ABOUT YOU TEST: your possessiveness is really uncomfortable
It’s obvious to everyone around you that you feel the need to keep everything just the way you like it, and that insistence often borders on obsession. Your persistence, materialism, and sentimentality can prevent you from ever letting things go, and the more you care about them, the more stubbornly you defend your right to own them forever. Sorry to say, but there are some things, like memories and loved ones, you simply can’t own, and trying to stake your claim over them just makes you seem unbalanced and creepy. It probably wouldn’t hurt to quit being such a hoarder, too - none of your guests enjoy trying to find a seat in a room piled high with reminders of everything you refuse to let die.
NOTE: this is quite onbrand but wouldn’t be the creepiest thing to me when it comes to joanna - though she is posessive i don’t agree that it’s overwhelmingly disgusting.. i’d say it’s her rudest, or need to be right all the time.
TEMPERAMENTS TEST: sanguine 23/24 choleric 18/24 melancholic 05/24 phlegmatic 05/24
Your temperament is sanguine. The sanguine temperament is fundamentally spontaneous and pleasure-seeking; sanguine people are sociable and charismatic. They tend to enjoy social gatherings, making new friends and tend to be boisterous. They are usually quite creative and often daydream. However, some alone time is crucial for those of this temperament. Sanguine can also mean sensitive, compassionate and thoughtful. Sanguine personalities generally struggle with following tasks all the way through, are chronically late, and tend to be forgetful and sometimes a little sarcastic. Often, when they pursue a new hobby, they lose interest as soon as it ceases to be engaging or fun. They are very much people persons. They are talkative and not shy. Sanguines generally have an almost shameless nature, certain that what they are doing is right. They have no lack of confidence.
NOTE: this is a much easier answer for me to digest, though joanna isn’t evil she certaily has a rudness that can come across as evil to some people - or perhaps she truly is just a bully. and the last quote, ‘they havae no last of confidence’ is right on the target! though of course, as a young girl there may be bouts of insecurity.. which may evolve into humility or down-right foolery.
LAWFUL ALIGNMENT TEST: chaotic neutral
A chaotic neutral character follows his whims. He is an individualist first and last. He values his own liberty but doesn't strive to protect others' freedom. He avoids authority, resents restrictions, and challenges traditions. A chaotic neutral character does not intentionally disrupt organizations as part of a campaign of anarchy. To do so, he would have to be motivated either by good (and a desire to liberate others) or evil (and a desire to make those different from himself suffer). A chaotic neutral character may be unpredictable, but his behavior is not totally random. He is not as likely to jump off a bridge as to cross it.
NOTE: in terms of alignment i think this is the safest option to describe joanna, she is no hero but she is no villain either.. she looks out for herself more than anthing else, though most choices come at random and at various paces.
GREEK DIETY TEST: poseidon
He was god of the Sea and other waters; of earthquakes; and of horses. In pre-Olympian Bronze Age Greece, he was venerated as a chief deity at Pylos and Thebes. Poseidon was protector of seafarers, and of many Hellenic cities and colonies. He is noble and powerful, and is recognized as a figure of leadership.
NOTE: like what happened when i took the same quiz for marius, i lost my first results. my first was aphrodite, which i didn’t necessarily agree with - then came poseidon. i’m happier with this result because poseidon was such a crass and awful man who made hell a lot worse than hades ever could’ve - he killed many whilst at sea, and in my opinion, was one of the most powerful gods of greek mythology.
ENNEAGRAM TEST: type 7 / 7w8 ( the enthusiast )
People of this personality type are essentially concerned that their lives be an exciting adventure. Sevens are future oriented, restless people who are generally convinced that something better is just around the corner. They are quick thinkers who have a great deal of energy and who make lots of plans. They tend to be extroverted, multi-talented, creative and open minded. They are enthusiasts who enjoy the pleasures of the senses and who don't believe in any form of self-denial.
NOTE: she is certainly a pleasure seeker and planner for distraction and i think this is the closest i’d get to describing joanna though i wouldn’t call her creative due to the fact that she has little skill to anything!
SEXUALITY TEST: 40% heterosexual 30% bisexual 20% asexual 10% homosexual
this needs no description though i will write that of course she hasn’t had sex with anyone yet due to her position? it would be wrong for her to do that as a princess and thus has not experimented with anyone either than taking a few kisses from princes and noblemen. also, she has yet to be awoken to the sense that being attracted to girls is normal, so this quiz is entirely random to the point that it’s made for modern day human beings, not ones from 1455.
POKEMON TEST: flying type
The Flying type is all about the self. You possess traits that are often sought-after: Confidence, self-respect, and bravery radiate from your being. You are a very self-aware individual, and that knowledge can be employed to great use both alone and socially. Remember, however, to not get too big of a head, Flying-type: Your confidence is good, but empathy is better. Often, you may find yourself at the whimsy of society. You are honorable, but also constantly worried about your self-image remaining pristine. If you allow yourself to become too wrapped up in what others think of you, you may become too flighty and scattered for your own good. Remember to relax, and let your spirit soar!
NOTE: though i find it hard to relate joanna to a pokemon the description is pretty good and i can fit joanna into it - though i’d rather see her as a spoilt and messy jigglypuff.
TEA TYPE: hibiscus tea
You’re a *lot*. But that’s not a bad thing! You’re unafraid to take up space and make your voice heard. You love being the center of attention and are willing to cause a scene to swivel the spotlight toward you. You’ve got a sharp tongue (you’ve probably been called sassy at least once in your life) and you can use that for good or evil. Your tartness might not be for everyone, but those who get you love your larger-than-life presence.
NOTE: once again it’s pretty lose to joanna’s character and i particaly like the line ‘your tartness might not be for everyone’
BIG FIVE PERSONALITY:
of course i wasn’t going to pay for this quiz so i only have a little information to share: OPENNESS 52% CONSIENTIOUSNESS 10% EXTRAVERSION 100% AGREEABLENESS 21% NEUROTICISM 33%
NOTE: extraversion is a funny one, and i really like the look of this type of quiz but alas i’m poor and i’m not gonna spend money on a made up character!
and as i did with marius i ended up making a birth chat for her, who was born 29th may, 1438 at 17:39am.
#ofc i put too much time into this lmao#crhs.challenge#// seja a princesa vermelha ou morra ! ( JOANNA BRAGANZA )

PokePark 2 Overview
This is an old review I did in 2012 that I wish to delete from my main blog, so I'm going to repost it here. Spoilers for anyone who hasn't played this game.
Pokepark 2 Overview
Here are my thoughts on Pokepark 2 after completing the first story mode of the game.
PROS
- Surprisingly darker and more dramatic than the first game. I like this, gives you more of a emotional connection and more of a reason to care about what the characters are doing. Think Mystery Dungeon.
- While Pikachu is as vapid as ever, his companions actually have personalities which endears you to them.
- Fitting music and beautiful graphics. The music for Wish Park is pretty dern creepy. There’s a wonderful pan shot of all the stages at the beginning of the game with all the Pokemon milling about, and my brain started screaming at me “WHY can’t they make a mainstream-ish game like this? The potential for depth and exploration! LOOK at it!”
- Battle mode is great. You feel more involved with the action, and pressured by the new added time limit. Being able to use the stage for a match instead of a ‘battle grid’ gives a real sense of integration.
- There are several types of battles, some involving obstacle courses, and others involving having to take on whole gangs of Pokemon at once, akin to Pokemon Rumble.
- The minigame “Attractions” are just like revisiting the old Kids Corner in the Stadium games. This fills me with warm fuzzies, as well as the knowledge that you can play these games in multiplayer with friends. Just like Stadium. C:
- The whole friend-making gimmick actually has a point in the story’s plot now. As a result, it doesn’t feel quite as much of a drag.
- There are a wider variety of ways to make friends. Besides the original battle/chase/quiz/hide and seek, we now have added 'taking photos’ and 'giving items’. I like the taking photos idea, as it has a sort of “Pokemon Snap” vibe to it.
- Speaking of the photo-taking, its quite a source of entertainment. You’re not restricted to just taking what’s in front of you, being able to use the Wiimote to shift your point of view in several directions.
CONS
- There is quite a long tutorial mode in this sequel where you get led everywhere for a bit. Bear with it, its not too bad.
- The movement of the Pokemon you control is still awkward. This is annoying, especially when I know its possible to have control pad movement with precision (Rumble)
- The AI of the Pokemon you battle can go from the sublime to the ridiculous. In some cases I’ve had opponents stand there and do nothing, and in other cases, spam a move that prevents me from retaliating.
- There are only four attractions as opposed to Pokepark Wii’s FOURTEEN. I’d say this was disappointing, but I remembered how annoying it was to be forced to play said games in order to move the plot along. However, it would have been nice if they’d included the attractions from Pokepark Wii in the multiplayer mode in order to up the replay value of the game.
- The game does seem a touch too short. First story mode took me 13 hours.
SCORE - 7/10
Pokepark 2 is a definite step up from the first game. Your involvement carries more weight and importance, which in turn gives you a reason to want to play. And I sense a lot of potential here for future, more in-depth 3D Pokemon RPGs, in the case of the Pokepark game engine.

read to learn how to upset incels
listen to me... the next time a gatekeeping neckbeard dudebro tries to quiz you on any form of nerdy/geeky media to test if you REALLY watch star trek, or if you REALLY play pokemon...etc , instead of promptly giving them the correct answer, or instead of explaining "just because i have a shirt with r2d2 on it doesn't mean i have to know every piece of lore!!"...
give them the most bogus, hilariously incorrect answer you can think of.
for example the next time someone goes "what's Spiderman's REAL name", don't say Peter Parker!!! don't!!! fight the urge and go "oh gee um idk, PETER GRIFFIN? no wait, PEEWEE HERMAN? ummm...is this DC Spiderman or Capcom Spiderman?" idk , just, however you can, fuck it up AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE.
if they're dumb enough not to detect your sarcasm, pit your best acting abilities to use. chances are they'll get so mad, go to Reddit at night and write up a rant post about "fake" gamer girls, no girls play mtg, wondering why they're still single then moments later fap to their 2d waifu.
YOU LIKE THEY STAR WARS SHIRT? COOL ME TOO IDC IF YOUVE SEEN ALL THE MOVIES AND READ ALL THE BOOKS OR IF YOU ONLY GOT IT BECAUSE IT WAS FASHIONABLE. GOT A NARUTO SHIRT AT FOREVER 21? YOY DONT EVEN KNOW WHAT A NARUTO IS AND JUST WANTED IT BC AESTHETIC?! THATS FINE!!! IDC!!!
the goal is to waste their time as much as they're trying to waste yours. sure, you might want to just out-do them, and if you've actually got the knowledge , then go ahead. but listen, YOU DONT OWE THEM AN EXPLANATION. you don't HAVE to prove you're just as much a fan, if you don't want to. they're legit not going to respect you any more lol so just fuck with them and piss em off

November 21st, 2017
This is the second of two new entries, which were at one point slated to be one entry. I’m glad they weren’t, since both of them got long as hell. I blame the fact that I’m also chipping my way through a 7 hour video essay on Pokemon for my long windedness. If you don’t remember the one where I caught a Drowzee, I recommend scrolling down. Now’s also a good time to remind you that it’s possible to read the entire thing chronologically, by clicking... well, any word in this sentence, how about. Also the Pokedex in the sidebar.
Now seems as good a time as any to mention what I forgot to in my admitted rush to finish the prior entry - while grinding up Baku, I was also hanging out with friends, and finally actually did the damn thing: Moschops was traded for a Kakuna, and then traded back, evolving it to its final form. This is the second time in my lifetime of playing Pokemon that I've actually used the evolved form of a trade evolution, and the first is my Alolan Golem in Sun which I am still not actually finished with yet, largely due to this playthrough superceding it as a priority in my mind, and also because, maybe it's just me but that game's pacing really falls off by the time you're on Poni Island. Not that it was really well paced to begin with, but-- oh, bugger, I'll save this all for when I nuzlocke that game. Uh. If I get there. Maybe I'll be so put off by how much I hate 2nd Gen that I'll simply not get to 3rd. (That's probably not true, I love 3rd Gen so much, I'll slog through garbage to get to it.)
Anyway yeah, I have rad friends and I love them very much and so I have a Machamp now. Weird! I've used Machoke before, but never actually Machamp.
Blaine's gym is the next one, and I actualy have notes on it beyond "the gym trainers were easy." As the series progresses, gyms will become more elaborate - here, they're just. Walk in a straight line, walk in a straight line and then turn left, rifle through some garbage, cut some trees, follow an "invisible" path, just choose a teleport tile and pray, and the two I'm about to knock out back to back.
Blaine's gym is really weird. I definitely understand what they were going for, but it turned out super strange. So Blaine is like, this researcher professor guy, like not quite Pokemon Professor but he knows his shit and wears a lab coat sometimes and the works. So his gym is a quiz. There's these quiz machines that ask you a question that varies from bafflingly simple, such as "does Caterpie evolve into Butterfree", to just plain baffling, either due to strange wording or ambiguous wording. Like... on the one hand they are clearly meant to test your knowledge that you've gained as you adventured, since you're essentially at endgame territory here. But Blaine isn't the kind of professor that seems to legitimately want to test your knowledge, oh no, his questions seem purposely worded to confuse. For example, the first one, "Caterpie evolves into Butterfree?" On the one hand, yes, one of Caterpie's evolutions is Butterfree... but at the same time, Caterpie DOESN'T evolve into Butterfree. Caterpie evolves into Metapod, and Metapod evolves into Butterfree. The correct answer is yes, but it's not technically accurate. Another question asks if Poliwag evolves thrice, which is false, it evolves twice, but it's easy to count each form - Poliwag, Poliwhirl and Poliwrath - and assume that that matches up with the "3" in the question. Also, in what I can only assume to be translation error, one question manages to not only refer to the Electric type as "Thunder", but also refers to types as "element-types". Super weird.
Anyway, I did all the trivia and also fought all the trainers. Used to Firered, I find the lack of unique overworld sprites for the gym leaders interesting. I didn't even realize it was Blaine I was next to until I saw that there was no quiz machine behind him. Of course, with my Nessie and Cingu, the gym is no issue at all. I brink Moschops in too for his rock move, and Wakinyan just in case things got hairy, which they did not - I beat him handily.
Speaking of being beaten handily, the final gym has this mystery behind it, but I appreciate that before you are face to face with his widow's peaked mug, you have every opportunity to guess that the final gym leader is Giovanni of Team Rocket. The "Champ in the making!" dude tells you he uses ground types - and Giovanni, excepting his Kangaskhan, uses Nidoqueens and Rhyhorns and such consistently. That, and the puzzle here is the same pushing tiles that were used in the Rocket Hideout - I guess he likes those things? I know we encounter them in the hideout before the gym, but I like to think that it's the other way around. We don't get as much backstory on Giovanni as I'd like, but I like to imagine that he was a perfectly legitimate gym leader before starting Team Rocket, and he used the puzzle tiles the Pokemon League provided for him in his top secret casino hideout just cause they were the same kind of puzzle he liked enough to put in his gym.
As for fighting him... it's a joke. I was a little nervous going in about his powerful last 'mon and its Fissure, but... it's got 30% accuracy and I outspeed it anyway. Giovanni is defeated, this time for the last time. In this game - and this was removed in the remakes since it is counter to his characterization in his later appearances - if you speak to him after beating him, he says he is giving up on crime for good in order to research Pokemon. I think that's compelling and, again, hints at something a little more earnest in his past and in his motivations. Allow me to extrapolate for a moment here: Team Rocket's goals, in the anime and in the games, are consistent: find and capture rare Pokemon by any means necessary. In this game, they are first found in Mt. Moon, where rare Pokemon fossils can be found that can be resurrected at Cinnabar Island; then, the Silph Scope is recovered from them in Celadon, which is used primarily to be able to observe Ghost Pokemon in the Pokemon Tower, where they can also be found holding one of the region's well known Pokemon caretakers hostage. After that, they are in Silph Co., a powerful organization that has manufactured the Master Ball, which can be used to catch any Pokemon with perfect success. While the grunts may be using common Pokemon like Zubat and Rattata, the big boss has typically got Rhyhorn, Kangaskhan, and Nidoqueen, all Pokemon that are either only or most commonly accessible by way of the Safari Zone, where rarer Pokemon are sequestered for preservation.
What if Giovanni's real purpose is to study these rare Pokemon? Not money, nor pride, but simply the pursuit of knowledge? Taken to extremes, sure, but perhaps from his perspective, the real crime is holding these creatures away from researchers (which, as seen in Silph Co., Team Rocket also employs) that can learn more about them. Bam. There's my wild theory of the week.
Anyway yeah I went in without Wakinyan and just wrecked up his face. Hard not to, with Lapras and Penthes and Moschops and Baku. Cingu didn't do much, nor did he need to.
Speaking of Cingu, I then taught him Fissure. Now, normally, I would pretty much ignore OHKO moves. I mean, it'd be fun to give it to Moschops, but since all transferred Pokemon have their hidden abilities, it still would not be a Fissure/No Guard Machamp, so there's no point to that - instead, I gave it to the faster Cingu, after a bit of research. You see, I did not realize until around 24 hours prior to the time of this writing when I has beaten Giovanni's gym that the X Accuracy was changed in Gen 3. In Gen 3 onwards, which are the only generations I've played extensively, the X Accuracy is a very situationally useful item in a set of items that are essentially like Hardens, Howls, and Focus Energys that you can pay for. Those same moves aren't really that useful either, since far better moves like Swords Dance and Agility are just plain better versions of them. X Accuracy is probably the best of the set since it actually increases your own accuracy by a stage, allowing the effects of moves like the obnoxious Sand Attack or Minimize to be negated or at least mitigated... but since the overwhelming majority of attacks hit 100% of the time, and if you've been sand attacked then using the X Accuracy only gives them another chance to fling sand in your face, the usefulness is not exactly on the level of say, Potions and Pokeballs.
Except, things are a little different in Gen 1. You see, when an X Accuracy is used on a Pokemon in battle in Gen 1, it makes all of its moves hit perfectly every time until it is switched out or fainted. All of them, bypassing accuracy checks a la Swift, which I believe means it isn't even able to fall prey to the dreaded 1/256 glitch, which makes 100% accuracy moves miss one out of every 256 times. Including one hit KO moves like Fissure. (As a side note, this may also be handy with Thunder, which has only 70% accuracy - if it becomes a perfect hit then I'm far more confident of Wakinyan's ability to sweep Lorelei, at the least.)
Which, obviously, is ridiculous. Of course, Fissure only has 5 PP... but I've also not used a single one of the limited Ethers, Elixirs, etc. that the game provides. And with the exception of Dingus, every member of the Elite 4 has 5 Pokemon. (Of course, almost all of them also have a Flying type, and I'm sure SOME of them will outspeed Cingu, which should make Fissure fail regardless.) So like... basically, it's completely busted but fuck me if I'm not gonna take advantage of it. I'm already taking advantage of how busted Slash is. Honestly I'm gonna be sad to push Cingu through the Bank, since it's gonna go from utterly disgustingly broken to like... a normal Pokemon, basically.
Anyway then I slept, woke up, and played more Pokemon.
Now, at this point, I could go to Victory Road. But. Some unfinished business first! The Seafoam Islands are a fairly simple dungeon, with a Strength boulder dropping puzzle that's fairly memorable. Also there's a bird at the end. I murdered this bird, since I couldn't catch it. It actually brought Moschops to fairly low health. Serves me right for trying to use my 4x effective move that just happens to be on my "weak to flying" Pokemon.
NOW I'm ready for Victory Road, except for the fact that I absolutely forgot that there was a rival fight on Route 22 as you're headed for the Pokemon League. I was all healed up anyway, and I don't need to box anyone since he's got 6 Pokemon by now (but apparently no Fire Stones, lol - really, still Growlithe?), but I was still caught off guard, which I'm sure is the point.
Moschops handles Pidgeot and Rhyhorn, which hurts bad enough to switch him for Wakinyan, who, not gonna lie, is basically literally only here to OHKO this Gyarados. Nessie beats Growlithe but Alakazam puts it to 40 health, the lowest any of my Pokemon has been in a long while. Baku has the psychic resistance, so he finishes off Alakazam and then hits Venusaur for super effective damage, but I switch back to Wakinyan to finish him off.
I heal at home and NOW I'm actually going towards Victory Road.
First though, I run around in the grass on Route 23 for a wee bit before realizing that the only Pokemon I can find there are Sandslash/shrew, Sp/Fearow, or Ditto, all of which I still have living. I then think to fish, but I don't have my rod with me. Ah well, can't be arsed.
Victory Road! It's a road made of victory!! Let's see what EXCITING NEW POKEMON await us in this, our final dungeon of the-- oh. Zubat. It's a Zubat. I just caught another Zubat. ts name is Desmod, but it might as well be... Box 1. Cause that's where it'll be living. (Actually Box 2 though, I think.)
The dungeon here isn't actually that tough. The encounter rate is high enough that I got annoyed and put up some repels, but all that'll do is make grinding go a bit faster because you KNOW I'm not gonna fight the Elite 4 until everyone's AT LEAST Level 50. The trainers in here, to their credit, are reasonably tough. One Tamer in particular hurt me pretty bad with his sequence of Psychic types. I tried not to leave too often, since, at the very least, doing so would reset puzzle progress and drain max repels, but I did after this dude. Dig still takes me near Rock Tunnel. I literally haven't healed anywhere other than home since Rock Tunnel, lol. That'll change soon, I bet.
While here, I battled Moltres, the last of three legendary birds. As promised, I'll now discuss my thoughts on legendaries, because I quite frankly think that they're ruddy genius... in this game, and less so increasingly as the series progresses.
In this game, there are 4 legendary Pokemon - the three legendary birds and Mewtwo. Mew is a mythical and I'll talk about those another time, but legendaries are a distinct thing. In this game, despite all being birds except for the edgy one for whatever dumb reason, they are absolutely fantastically executed. Pokemon is a game that revels in boss fights - most routes have the strongest trainer strategically positioned last in a route, sometimes actively obstructing progress. Your rival shows up to fight you a total of eight times counting his final fight, which comes as a surprise at the end of the long foreshadowed gauntlet of four big bosses fought one after another with no Pokemon Centers inbetween, Team Rocket's leader fights you twice before being the last of eight town-based bosses themed around the elements, and that's not even counting optional bosses like the Karate King. However, all of these fights have something in common - they're all trainer fights.
While the distinction between trainer battles and wild Pokemon battles is not one that DRASTICALLY effects gameplay, it is one that exists. While the core principles are the same, two integral things about wild battles that are core to how they are approached are simply not options in trainer battles: running, and throwing Poke Balls. You can't steal people's Pokemon, but you can catch wild ones, and on occasion that capture is harder than most battles.
As such, legendary Pokemon are essentially the "wild Pokemon" answer to gym leaders. While gym leaders are a tough fight against a smart(ish) trainer with strong Pokemon, a legendary Pokemon is strong and, more importantly, very very hard to capture. I want to be clear, defeating these legendaries is not the hard part. I didn't actually do these bosses as they are intended to be fought, since I killed Moltres and Articuno and I used my Master Ball on Zapdos. But, had I gone the traditional route, I could have been spending 30+ Ultra Balls on EACH of them, and having to be so careful not to kill it or let it kill itself, or to let it kill any of my Pokemon. And this is a serious challenge! And THIS is what legendary Pokemon are for. They are out of the way, optional, very challenging, but rewarding intrinsically, because if you DO do the hard thing and catch them, then you have a powerful Pokemon you can use now. This is in opposition to the extrinsic reward of defeating a gym leader for a badge that allows you to train traded Pokemon to a higher level, to use HMs out of battle, to slightly increase stat growth, or whatever else. Getting handed something for winning a fight is great and makes sense... but with the legendaries, the fight is getting the damn things to stay in a ball, and the reward is the same as the reward for throwing a Poke Ball at a Rattata on Route 1: now you HAVE IT.
Of course... nothing stays good forever. In Gen 2, they introduce roaming legendaries. This is a different type of boss fight that takes place over the course of several fights, and is generally agreed to be way more of an obnoxious pain in the ass without actually being that innovative or fun. Instead of doing a cool dungeon that's hidden away and then fighting through your increasing worry to press onwards rather than resetting... an event flag happens in the story, and then you get to run aroung and do chip damage to a big cat or dog or something.
In Gen 3, for the first time, legendary Pokemon, rather than being hidden and out of the way, are thrust firmly in your face. This is the beginning of a change but, at least it's still a big lump of pain to actually capture Kyogre, Groudon or Rayquaza. While this gen also starts the trend of having more legendaries than it knows what to do with, it also makes up for it by having the most esoteric, "Mew is under the truck" type garbage puzzles in the whole series to get the golem-based Regis.
After this, things go bad quick. Starting in Gen 5 and continuing onwards, even being awkwardly shoehorned into the remakes of Gen 3, legendaries go from something you can seek out if you fancy a challenge or are a collector or want the power that comes with them... to being something that's literally handed to you on a silver platter, and that the game will not progress unless you acquire. This is bad and sucks. We'll get to it later.
Speaking of getting to things later. Next time, I guess... will be the Elite Four. After that, assuming I succeed, I'm gonna do some wrap up stuff. I do want to make some posts on here that aren't simply entries, talking about my overall opinion of Gen 1, my experience with nuzlocking it, and also discussing my opinions on some of the Pokemon found therein, which I will generally try to keep positive, since every Pokemon is someone's favorite and it's better to praise something that someone else might not have thought twice about than it is to criticize something that someone else might love. I may give a passing mention to which Pokemon appeal to me the least, but I would say that there are no Pokemon that I think are completely awful or unworthy of Being A Pokemon. (Also that gap will give me the time to finish Sun and buy an Ultra game which, given that MOST people I know who bought Moon were boring and then also bought Ultra Moon rather than buying Ultra Sun which I would think to make sense, will probably be Ultra Sun cause like, then I can trade my Blacephalon for their Stakataka or whatevs.) And then after that... Gen 2.
So, yeah. This has been an experiment so far and I'm really happy with how it has turned out. I look forward, not just to playing but also to writing each installment, and ideally, you look forward to reading them, even if they are uploaded at really weird times.
I'm gonna update the sidebar when I wake up in the... afternoon. Working overnights weirds time.

Neverland Tour Reports III: Osaka, Nagoya
I think I was having a semi-withdrawal period so not as many in this part, but still some goodies. For proper reports to go news lj comm, I only do the parts about crossdressing, nipples and kisses.
2017.05.06 Osaka
MC starts
K: We are starting the MC so please take your seats!
T: Put down your cute butts! ~
K: Shut up! It’s not the 4 of us talking right now, people are listening!
T: Okay~ ♥
Audience: Kawaii~
K: Cute, right? Since he’s so cute I end up forgiving him.
K: You really need to cut it out!
T: What? Shige!
S: Even though Shige didn’t say anything.
T: Shige likes to stand there, by the stairs.
M: He does. He does, right. A random fact about Kato-kun.
T: He loves the spot in front of the stars. When it comes to Osaka, it’s Shige.
S: Don’t start the game of saying “Shige”.
T: Right, Shige?
S: Is it fun?
T: Saying “Shige” feels good.
M: Can I try saying it too?
T: Ok.
M: Shige. (in a cool voice)
S: Taka. (in a cool voice)
K: There aren’t many people who call you Taka, right?
T: That’s the vocalist of One OK Rock.
K: Stop bringing up One OK Rock! It’s better to get permission from Moriuchi.
T: Send him a mail, someone.
S: Send it yourself!
Tegomass sang the song from Pokemon, Shige joined in the middle.
M: Should we also sing the song from “Sailor Moon”?
T: When I was in kindergarten my mum played Tsukino Usagi.
S: Your mother? Isn’t that a little weird?
T: I was very happy!
K: Your mum did it?? Sailer Moon?
T: She did. She did the “In the name of the moon, I shall punish you!” Tegomama.
M: I’m sorry to Tegoshi’s mum, but please stop it.
T: Really? (laughing)
K: But Tegoshi’s mama is pretty. So it would suit her.
S: That mother who wears no sleeves.
T: Every time before a concert my mum sends me a message “Do your best in Osaka!”
S: In my family we don’t do that. Though we do have a family LINE.
K: My sister does that a lot too. Sending me a picture like “I made this!” and I reply “Looks yummy!” What about you, Taka?
S: I have no idea what goes on in Taka’s family.
K: In Taka’s family there’s an older sister and Taka, right?
S: Do you meet?
M: We totally do. Father, mother, sister, 4 siblings.
K/S: 4 siblings?
M: Sorry, a family of 4.
S: When do you meet?
M: When? When we say “Everyone gather!”.
K: Wait, can it be this direct?
M: Yeah.
K: Really? I don’t get this family. Do you share texts? Like with your sister?
M: Not with my sister.
K: What about mother?
M: I do with mother and father but what do you even text your sister?
2017.05.07 Osaka, Day
T: Yesterday we all went to dinner, to a Japanese restaurant. Since next year NEWS will have 15th anniversary so we all shred our ideas about what we want to do for it.
S: When “Ayame” played the 3 of you lay down on stage.
T: But we like it!
S: Also yesterday when we went to dinner you kept teasing “I don’t need that, maybe I should eat”, “I don’t need that, maybe I should drink” [rephrased lyrics]. You even copied the choreography! Like “1,2,3,4″. This is too much!
K: That song is so handy.
T: You can use the lyrics in almost any situation. Isn’t that amazing? That’s how much we love Shige’s song!
M: You should write a song for us.
S: If I actually write it would you sing it?
M: If it’s good I would!
T: But that time we wrote “Ai no Kotoba”, me and Shige made a melody line in the hotel room.
S: We created about 3 of them but in the end everyone picked the one Tegoshi came up with, they didn’t like mine.
K: That’s not true. I sense bitterness.
2017.05.07 Osaka, Eve
For Green Day (May 4th) Shige treated Koyama to sushi at a really cool restaurant (for his earlier birthday). After that they went to Koyama’s house. There on Koyama’s desk Shige wrote “Yaaay! This is Shige!”with a marker. Looks like defiling someone else’s property is commonplace in Johnny’s. Shige also wanted Koyama to see “Beauty and the Beast” so he bought a ticket for him though he couldn’t go himself because of Bibitto. Koyama said he didn’t get anything from Tegomass.
K: But the two of you didn’t get me anything.
T: Does it have to be an object?
L: What?
T: There are things you can’t see. Like love. (laughing)
S: You can see love, like kisses. #katosantheshipper
T: That’s ok, but only on the lips.
S: Why does it have to be lips?
M: Koyama is sly. He says “With Massu it’s difficult so I’ll just make him buy me clothes”.
K: It’s not like that.
M: So what do you want? For example.
K: I want stylish clothes from Massu. Come up with a full costume for me!
M: Full costume?
T: What about me?
K: You’re knowledgeable about wine and stuff so that would be good.
T: So alcohol is good.
K: Alcohol is good, also something all 4 of us could drink.
T: What is this?
M: Tegoshi asked this before but do you want an object ?
T: Ah, I know. Would a gift certificate be good?
K: It’s convenient. Except there’s no love in it.
So I guess Koyama-san shall be taking the kisses.
2017.05.13 Nagoya
K: You slept a lot today, Kato-san? You seem lively.
S: Yesterday I wrote a manuscript and slept a lot!
Fans: Do your best!
S: Shut up! Shige is always doing his best!
T: I’ll tell you one secret about Koyama-san! 1,5 hours before the concert he did acupuncture to slim down his face. www
K: Wah! Don’t say it! (embarrassed) I did it after the rehearsal~
At DTF, Masuda-san pulled down Koyama’s robe from his shoulder to reveal his chest. Embarrassed, Koyama hid his nipple with his hand.
2017.05.14 Nagoya, Day
That’s the part where Shige lost his voice, I’m sure you know the gist of it already. He woke up realizing he lost his voice, he let the other fill in his parts at the rehearsal and by the time of the concert his voice got better so he tried his best. At the end of it, however, he couldn’t sing U R Not Alone and he cried, frustrated. Of course, the members supported him and Tegoshi asked the audience to help sing his parts. Anyway, just a few parts.
S: My voice hasn’t recovered in time for the rehearsal so... the members sang instead of me and I got a bit teary-eyed.
K: Of course, NEWS help each other.
S: Just don’t sing better than me. ♥
They proceeded to discuss how their singing parts are assigned for a reason. Massu said that once at a Tegomass concert, they wanted to make a surprise and switch their parts of “Miso Soup”, but it proved to be a lot harder than they imagined, especially the parts where they have to sing together at different keys. So Massu said he realized it’s better if Shige sings his parts. “ [replacing] Koyama’s is fine though”. Brutal. Massu then talked how he sang “Koi wo Shiranai” at “Johnny’s World” and he said he messed up Shige’s part and felt very sorry about it. He even demonstrated exactly what happened there.
At the end of Full Swing members were to put their hands on the shoulder of the person next to them and Massu was supposed to put his hand on Tegoshi’s shoulder but he stood too far so his hand slipped and grazed his chest. Then Massu tapped his finger against Tegoshi’s nipple. Tegoshi had a startled face until the next song started.
This band’s nipple fixation is no joke.
The day before they has a mid-tour wrapping up party with about 150 members of staff. They played “Intro quiz too.
2017.05.14 Nagoya, Eve
They took some questions from audience and one was what they do between concerts.
K: What do you do, Tegoshi?
T: I took a shower, put ice on my throat, stretched a bit, and after that it’ was just playing games on my phone.
S: He’s really a child! You can hear his voice “Yay! Die!” or “Woah! He’s strong!” He’s so noisy but with my voice now I can’t make fun of him.
T: Don’t say it! That’s embarrassing... (face turning red)
K: I also played games on my phone.
S: Lately Koyama-san plays games a lot, right?
K: Popping candy.
T: That’s fun.
M: Like PuyoPuyo or Tetris?
K: Yes. When you arrange candy they disappear. I am 33 years old.
S: What’s with these two?
Massu then complained Shige is always blasting music on his speakers. Tegoshi added that when Shige is checking concert footage, he skips other members’ parts so it’s just Shige medley.
M: I was about to play some Western music through the speakers but not on WiFi, on Bluetooth. But when I turned it on, some weird music played! Tegoshi’s game music! Even Tegoshi’s Bluetooth is selfish.
T: I’m playing games that have world tournaments!
S: He’s watched some videos on YouTube and went “Worldwide (level) is cool!” Just go to your Neverland already!

Rules: Answer the questions and tag 20 people you want to get to know better
I was tagged by @twinkie-boi-aleks ✨sorry that I keep doing these but holy heck it feels nice to be tagged in this kind of stuff!! It blows my mind that people even notice me, let alone want to get to know me better🌻 Name: Reina Nickname: I don't really have nicknames?? But I like to go by "Ray" because it's more gender-neutral! Zodiac Sign: Sagittarius! Hogwarts House: Oh jeeze...okay so every time I've taken the Hogwarts quiz on pottermore I've gotten either Gryffindor or Ravenclaw. And considering I've taken the quiz four times and I've gotten two results for each house...I'm super conflicted. I consider myself more of a Gryffindor but it's like a Hermione Gryffindor where I'm all about academics and knowledge but at the same time I have the Gryffindor fighting spirit. (Sorry about the paragraph I can get so in depth about Harry Potter and the houses holy shit) Height: fuckin short as hell! I'm Puerto Rican and we're all so fuccin small! I'm only 5' 2"! Orientation: Shit dude. 99% sure that I'm a lesbian and that I'm demisexual?? Who fuckin knows haha. Gender is still a mystery to me and I usually go by female pronouns but I have a lot of days where I just feel like absolutely nothing so I prefer to go by they/them pronouns. I'm sorry this is so confusing but my goodness I'm confused too haha. Ethnicity: Puerto Rican and Portuguese! (But I mainly stick by the Puerto Rican haha) Favorite Fruit: IF YOU GIVE ME STRAWBERRIES I W I L L FALL IN LOVE WITH YOU Favorite Season: Fall! I love the chilly air and the beautiful colors! Favorite Fictional Characters: FUCK YES I LOVE THIS QUESTION!! Tony stark (Marvel), Guzma (Pokemon), Qrow (RWBY), Bumblebee and Ironhide (Transformers), Junkrat and Mccree (overwatch), Spencer Reid (Criminal Minds), and Caboose (RvB). Okay that's all that I could think of from the top of my head! Favorite Scents: Anything floral; vanilla; raw, earthy scents; the smell of outside after it rains; the smell of coffee percolating; the smell of my morning herbal tea; tbh: I love the smell of weed Favorite Artist/Band: Okay so I listen to such an odd spectrum of music?? Like one moment I'm listening to Africa by Toto and the next moment I'm listening to Green Day or Panic at the Disco?? So idk but I really like SZA, Vampire Weekend, Oh Wonder, One Direction (fight me), and some older stuff like Donna Summer, Salt N Peppa, Toto, etc. idk dudes Coffee, Tea, or Hot Cocoa: ALL!! I drink coffee every morning (like three cups), I drink tea for the rest of the day, and then I drink hot chocolate when I'm really sad or sick. Average Sleep Hours: Lol sleep?? I don't know her. I usually get like 5-7 hours of sleep on a good night. So I go to bed at like 11 and wake up at 5. But I have a lot of really bad nights where I just?? Won't sleep at all?? Like maybe I'll get like 2 hours but that's rarely the case. I either get good sleep or no sleep at all it's really great. Number of Blankets Slept With: One?? I'm way too warm all the time. I'm like a space heater my dudes. I just use the one blanket for comfort. Dream Trip: A cabin in the woods!! Peaceful, beautiful, and isolated! Blog Created: Fuck?? Idk probably like 2015?? Number of Blogs Followed: ummm....like 200?? Maybe?? Number of Followers: Like 180 last time I checked?? But I think that was before I went through and blocked all of the porn bots so probably like 170 now. What do I usually post: Dude I have no idea. Rooster Teeth? World Issues? Feminist Stuff? Gay Positivity? Occasionally Marvel/DC stuff?? Who fuckin knows. Do I usually get asks: Nah. But I would love to get more!! Literally ask me anything!! I have no filter!! (other than the "Be a decent human being" one) Here are my tags (I'm so sorry that I tag some of the same people it's just because I like you guys and i like learning new stuff about people i follow/like!)🍂: @gp-mogar @ryanbiwood @achievementmicoo @achievementjaeger @lovenfluff @love-geofffree @blackwatch-jess (I know that that's not 20 people but hush)
