@alllonsy​ gets a random starter

She’s stood in front of a calendar when he finds her, staring at the days crossed off by someone’s meticulous hand as they kept track of what days had already passed. She never paid too much IMPORTANCE to the date of the places they traveled, and while the year wasn’t the same (it never would be) the day stood out to her like a sore thumb. July 24th. She can’t remember the last time she landed on this day, the last time she thought of it when it wasn’t just a vague feeling as another rotation passed. As a time traveler, well. She’d kept meticulous track of her months, days, weeks, in her head, but this? It was DIFFERENT.

Jenny can STILL see the numbers on the screen detailing the date, still REMEMBER Donna figuring out the code they represented, still hear the GUNSHOT ring through the air as she shoved herself in it’s path. What she doesn’t hear in this moment are the words her father spoke, only vaguely realizing he even said anything at all, and it took her a moment to shake herself out of her stupor, turning to look at him with furrowed brows. 

❝ Sorry, what was that? Zoned out there for a second. ❞

     “I get it, it does. So, what do you consider home then?” A better question would be what time she considered home, but that was bordering just left of too close a personal question. Sam didn’t feel he had the right to know whether it was future, past, or modern day; part of him felt like he didn’t want to know either. As Jenny had said, time travel was only strange to those unfamiliar with it, and he, by this point in his life, had decided he’d rather stay estranged to the concept. “Also, I feel like I should apologize for getting all existential-dread on you.”

     that  was  a  loaded  question,  but  perhaps  it  wasn't  for  him.  most  people  had  a  home,  someplace  they  could  go  back  to  and  feel  safe.  the  closest  she  had  was  where  she  came  from,  and  even  so  she  had  never  felt  the  urge  to  go  back  in  all  her  time  traveling.  ❛  earth  feels  more  like  home  than  most  places  i've  been.  ❜  she  shrugged  lightly.  ❛  or  do  you  mean  where  do  i  come  from?  because  that  is  a  very  different  answer.  ❜  jenny  had  always  felt  a  sort  of  fondness  for  this  planet  and  it's  peoples,  and  while  there  was  so  much  out  there,  this  was  where  she'd  return  every  time.  ❛  there's  no  need  to  apologize,  by  the  way.  i'm  ―  contemplating  my  existence  is  nothing  new  to  me.  ❜

     Well, wasn’t that a lot of pressure on both their shoulders, and the younger time lord can already feel the beginnings of butterflies in her stomach. However, while most people would consider those butterflies out of nervousness, while . . . hers were more out of excitedness. ❝ I suppose there’s only one thing we can do then, yeah? ❞ And with that, she glances over at her Dad, giving him a grin.

eyes  narrow  at  the  other,  mouth  slightly  parted  in  confusion  as  she  looks  from  the  man,  to  the  sonic  screwdriver  he  was  requesting.  while  not  the  same  as  her  father  had  when  they’d  last  met,  that  didn’t  mean  she  wouldn’t  recognize  it.  he  however,  apparently  didn’t  recognize  her.        “        i  . . .  this  thing?  it  doesn’t  look  like  a  screwdriver.        ”        she  still  handed  it  over,  although  she  may  not  have  stopped  staring.        “        who  are  you?        ”

☆     「  @namechose​  /  RANDOM  SHENANIGANS  」      That's his dotter shape. He's piloting his rc helicopter right for her head. It's making very cartoonish firing noises.

      so  sue  her,  she’s  not  paying  one  hundred  percent  attention  to  her  surroundings.  in  her  defense,  she  wasn’t  expecting  to  be  attacked  by  a  small  helicopter.  thankfully  for  both  of  their  sakes  the  fake  gunfire  is  extremely  cartoonish  in  nature,  so  she  only  startles  slightly  upon  noticing  it’s  course.  even  so  she  immediately  ducks,  a  burst  of  laughter  leaving  her  as  the  aircraft  misses  her  head,  straightening  up  once  she’s  moved  out  of  the  way.

        “        oi!  where  did  you  even  find  that?  and  thanks  by  the  way,  for  aiming  it  straight  for  me.        ”        also  wasn’t  the  idea  of  a  tiny  helicopter  kind  of  irrelevant?  it  wasn’t  as  if  anyone  could  fly  in  it.  not  that  it  mattered,  she  thought  as  she  stuck  her  tongue  out  at  her  dad.

❛  i  -  no,  martha.  it’s  -  the  way  i  feel  has  nothing  to  do  with  anything  you’ve  said.   ❜  she  protests,  giving  the  other  a  (  admittedly  strained  )  smile  to  attempt  to  convince  that  she’s  okay.  it  comes  nowhere  close  to  meeting  her  eyes  however.  ❛  trust  me,  it’s  nothing.  it’s  just  a  fact.  one  that  i’ve  more  or  less  come  to  live  with  over  the  years.  ❜

    “Uh-huh.” Sam finds himself mindlessly nodding, brows still slightly raised in disbelief. “Could we at least build a barrier first, in case it gets out of hand? I don’t want to be the asshole responsible for the next summer forest fire.”

      She  seemed  to  think  for  a  second,  looking  to  the  woods  that  were,  actually,  a  bit  closer  than  she'd  like.  However  it  wasn't  like  they  could  leave  a  body  to  be  found  by  the  local  kids,  even  if  it  LOOKED  humanoid,  and  this  was  the  easiest  way  to  get  rid  of  evidence.  "Yeah,  probably  for  the  best.  Don't  think  anyone  would  like  a  stranger  coming  into  town  and  starting  a  forest  fire  less  than  a  week  after  they  arrived."  Nor  did  she  want  that  kind  of  attention  on  her.
