the way that this is like,,, barely an au though. wick is technically undead and his condition has been getting worse the last few sessions. but don't worry, we're definitely going to fix him and make him unundead (?) in tonight's session 🥰

jack is illiterate in canon, but in this au i decided he does get to read. but now instead of being regular words that he can't read, wick's journal is in some sort of cipher that jack has to crack. perhaps it'll have a zombie cure in it who knows ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

and wick did have an episode a couple sessions ago where his corruption got triggered and he stabbed his hand into a guy and cast eldritch blast inside the dude, so there's a precedent for him going feral.

this guy doesn't know you from adam but he's really nice to you and puts himself in danger to help you and then your past catches up to you and leads to his death and if you stop blaming him for being weak for a moment you'll end up blaming yourself for it instead and you can't handle that. but now uh-oh he's alive and back (sort of) and now things are complicated. and i just think it's neat no matter the universe :3c

Birthday art!

Drew a birthday present for co player in another campaign! It was supposed to be a quick drawing but offff it took much longer than I expected

The one on the left is my character! His name is Araliss Galanodel‘ (everyone calls him Liss/Araliss) and he is an eladrin and my first (!!) ever dnd character. In the middle is a friend‘s harengon character. Her name is Vinka (we have a flower called Barvinok (it’s also her full name) in my native language). And on the left is character by my most precious person ; ; He is tabaxi and his name is Nimraakh (Nimra for short)

I also have a fully rendered suggestive art with the three of them that I drew for the previous birthday, but I think it wasn’t received well and … I’m still sad about it because I poured my soul and skill into it. I’ll show it tomorrow

Just dropping my Enko lore here because I really love him and he might not last LMAO he’s terrible but he’s mine.

Enko Backstory:

It is oft stated that “the more you know, the less you like” and this phrase couldn’t be anymore true than it is in the case of Enko. Enko is a practiced wizard and some would say charlatan. But he wasn’t always this way. Abandoned outside the feywilds as a child with no memory of his family or parents, only a strange stone tied round his neck, a traveling wizard by the name of Eleos, a Harengon like himself, found him a few weeks later on the side of the road begging for food or shelter. The wizard saw potential in the young Enko and took him on as an apprentice, letting him travel alongside him in his caravan, housing and feeding him on their journeys and teaching him wizardry and shopkeeping and most importantly, how to make money with these skills. The most important thing Eleos always said, was to leave your customer, your audience guessing. You always have what they need, even if you don’t. Enko became very good at captivating said clientele. He could sell you the key to the heavens—he just forgets to mention until after the transaction is complete that he doesn’t actually know where to find the door…

He became Eleos’ pride, a practiced wizard with a silver tongue and a quick wit who trusted him entirely and had for Eleos the unconditional love one can typically only get from their own child. To Enko, Eleos hung the stars, even if he cared for next to no one else, he loved Eleos dearly as a son loves their father. However, Enko would one day find that this unconditional love wasn’t returned. When he came of age, Eleos took everything from him but the clothes on his back, including the strange stone tied round his neck, and left him penniless on his own. He told Enko that this was Enko’s payment for his kindness of raising him and teaching him all he knew, and that it would be good to remember that this is merely the way of the world. Everyone is out for themselves, and if he wants to have any hope of getting by, he’d do well to remember that, and with that parting wisdom he left, never for Enko to see him again.

In time Enko would learn the stone Eleos took, was in fact an orichalcum and this was likely why the wizard stole it. His pessimistic side tells him that Eleos abandoned him, fearing he’d one day rival him and take him for all he had, so he cut him off and did it to him first. He likely believed this of Enko because it’s just what he would do in Enko’s same position.

From then on, Enko put up his walls, and wears a mask of bravado and egoism. Almost always smiling. Some would call this manipulation. Some perhaps an insecurity. Or maybe it is his true, enduring self. Or perhaps he doesn’t know what that even is any longer. He has a very easy time talking to others, and can present as a friendly, warm, confidant but is actually always listening for what he can gain, what he can use. He is, by all accounts, a colorful snake oil salesman who will have you believing he could sell you the moon for a few gold coins or assistance with a personal task he cannot do on his own. Making real, true friends and allies is not something he does and only ever actually gives the time of day to those compensating him. After all, everyone is out for themselves. That’s just the way of the world.
