Oh we're converting the Strixhaven D&D spells to Magic now??

Please God let silvery barbs be printed it would be so funny I just know it
Tragic that it can't be blue though, because casting silvery barbs in 5e is exactly the feeling of smugly saying "in response" with untapped islands

One of my dnd players chose to work at the student newspaper in our Strixhaven campaign … obviously I had no choice but to make a new paper each week that is full of side quests, lore drops and teases at the plot. Only one player has caught on thus far and is now frantically rushing around campus looking for new papers each week.

Not what I usually post on this account anymore but last session, my players had a very deep conversation about how to turn their sled into the ultimate crime stopping automobile, and I think that was important enough for me to illustrate it and post it on here.
Some of the improvements they wish to add to the sled?
A back water/ice canon
Front Eldritch Blast canon
Radio (if they can't have one made, they considered putting a small pixie man inside with a guitar and pay him minimum wage to play epic music during their car chases)
Small pixie bobble-head that plays a jingle
Cupholders for whenever they stop at the Firejolt to get more of their gamer fuel
Elk armor (A Celestial Elk is at the front of the sled but it needs protection or it will despawn! Maybe Todd Howard could help us with that)
A bat signal so people can call them whenever something doesn't go right (they'll probably have tons of dragons get blinded when people point the signal in the sky but hey, one crisis at a time)
A SKOTOL flag (that's the name of their group and the correct spelling for our campaign's name SKOOL (Scholarly Knights Of (the) Oblivion Lights))
Grayson, part of the student council (and someone who enjoys accounting as a hobby) is helping them fund the project but they've been thinking of how they'd actually get all of this done. Maybe blackmailing the one engineer they have dirt on to do it for free or tax people on the campus... hmmm... so many possibilities!
In case this was not evident enough: I have lost control over the campaign. This is no longer the SKOOL campaign. No school. Just sled.

For those of you who might have played Strixhaven, there's an npc named Cadoras Damellawar. My character is a kitsune named Akane, and they're dating, so I made this cute drawing of them.
I spent 13 hours working on it over a week span. I neglected sleep because I was feeling so inspired.

Strixhaven DnD
So, I'm going to be running a solo game using the Strixhaven setting, but not the included adventure, for just one friend of mine. It's going to be text based, play-by-post, as that's how we really like to run our solo games with each other (we have a handful). In most of our games we use the Solo Adventurer's Toolbox and its sequel, available on DM's guild. It's great because it allows for the game to be run without either of us getting so bogged down in planning that we get stressed out or bored, namely helped out by a handful of different d100 lists for encounters (both combat and non-combat) -- for both wilderness encounters and urban encounters.
But as I'm sure you can imagine, those particular encounter tables are really made more for like LOTR-style typical adventuring D&D and are a lot less useful for a campaign setting that is as specific as Strixhaven!
So basically, what I was hoping was to ask folks here about the kinds of random encounters that you would include on a d100 list specifically for Strixhaven encounters. I currently have a list of about 30 options, and I've tried to include all sorts of things based on the different colleges, on different jobs, on different extracurriculars, and even using different pre-established places on campus. I've not included it here yet because I honestly want to publish the list to my own personal TTRPG blog when it goes live -- but I'm not sure if that's fair to do if I'm asking folks for ideas here, because I feel like it's crappy to publish something to a personal blog without being able to credit contributors.
Either way, I'm looking for ideas. Combat ideas! Non-combat ideas! Student drama! If you think it would fit the campaign setting, I'd be interested in hearing what comes to mind for you. I might already have some of them on my list. But there's no telling, and anything that might jog some ideas into my brain would be GREATLY appreciated, so that I can more easily run this solo Strixhaven game for myself and my friend.
I've found one pre-existing d100 list (but it really is split in half so only goes to 50) that is somewhat helpful, but other than that... the options out here are pretty light for Strixhaven specific d100 encounter tables.

There is a chapter in Curriculum of Chaos where the players are tasked with stealing a doll. This will henceforth be changed to a head if I rerun the campaign (as planned)
Consider:
You died with a remarkable fortune and no heirs. You grant your wealth to two rivalling schools in the same city, under one condition: One of them must always keep your preserved skull. They may keep it on display (therefore attracting interest and potentially fame to the school) but that always raises the risk of students of the other school stealing it. The students and staff of the other school have not only the right, but the duty to do so at any opportunity. Nobody can be arrested for this unless they're caught breaking some other law.
Ideally, the students of the two schools keep stealing your skull, back and forth, forever. The culture of both of the schools is enriched by this activity, the students are too busy engaged in these harmless shenanigans to drift into worse habits and behaviours, and you get to be included in countless nonsensically frivolous heist operations whose sole purpose is to bring more fun into the world.

Strixhaven DMs, I need some advice. Spoilers below.
Murgaxor is a character that I think could be made into someone super interesting if given more depth. My players are willing to go along with the goofiness of the adventure as long as there’s some more… worldbuilding/plot than presented.
One of the ways I’ve done this is I wrote an elaborate story they have slowly been uncovering about the inaugural class of Strixhaven and how the descendants of that class all seem to lead… interesting lives. I’m making Murgaxor a descendant and adding that as part of his fixation on being expelled and wanting to get “revenge.” For a villain, he’s not very interesting so I’ve woven in lore/sidequests regarding the magic he’s attempting to use — or to learn more about him or the school in general— I’m making each year a little darker and more serious, etc.
It seems, however, that the homebrew elements I’m creating are the parts the party are most interested in. Which I’m fine with, but it’s greatly expanding the game and the milestone leveling is getting difficult.
How much homebrew did you all add to your campaigns to keep adult players hooked? Did you stick to the leveling the book suggests or did you level up more and then advanced the difficulty of encounters?

Dnd 5e (source) books for @doodl3 as a thank you for editing for me
Players Handbook Dungeon master's guide Monster Manual Volo's Guide to Monsters Xanathar's Guide To Everything Mordenkainen's Tome of Foes (Tome of Foes was dedicated to dnd artist William O'Connel who passed away during devlopment of the book at the age of 47) Tasha's Cauldron of Everything Fizban's Treasury of Dragons Mordenkainen's Monsters of the Multiverse Bigby Presents Glory of the Giants (please forgive me this was the best one I could find) (also please forgive me for not including the book The Book of Many Things I couldn't find a pdf for it)
Now for the different dnd settings
Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide Guildmasters Guide to Ravnica Eberron -Rising from the Last War Mythic Odysseys of Theros (you're really going to love that one as that introduced Satyr as a playable race) Van Richtens Guide to Ravenloft Astral Adventurer's Guide Boo's Astral Menagerie (if you love space you are going to love the previous 2) (Also sadly I couldn't find a good version for Sigil and the Outlands, Turn of Fortune's Wheel or Morte's Planar Parade :( I tried I really did)
(Enjoy these 3 adventures though) Strixhaven A Curriculum of Chaos Dragonlance - Shadow of the Dragon Queen and Light of Xaryxis (with the third one you need to use Astral Adventurer's Guide and Boo's Astral Menagerie)
thank you so much for editing my book. :) @doodl3
To any other adventurer including you who stumbles upon this please enjoy. May your story go far and wide and your dice rolls be even higher.

Dnd acronyms crack me up constantly. DNDHAT is a good one, up there with my favorites the SCAG (Sword Coast Adventurer’s Guide) and the MOOT (Mythic Odysseys of Theros)
The best though? Hoard of the Dragon Queen. HotDQ
A cool thing about Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Theives is that the abbreviation is dndhat. What a cool abbreviation. Someone should put it on a hat!
