Naddpod - I started the third campaign. I don't know why I stopped about 2 episodes in I know what happens for the most part

Dndaddies: watched sixteen episodes and stopped despite loving it. I'm not sure why but I spoiled it for myself on accident.

this one is a little heavy so i'm gonna put it behind a read more. cw for internalised ableism + sanism, and brief talk about being institutionalised and a suicide attempt.

Before the events of the campaign, before they came to Boston for school, Kel was in a rough place. Not along after their dad died suddenly, having already been struggling with depression, they tried to kill themself and wound up institutionalised for their safety as they had no family willing to help them (their parents having been cut off by their respective families years previously).

While they have been open with their partners and close friends about a lot of the tough stuff they went through, this they have kept secret. They struggle a lot as it is with feeling like a burden due their disability and and do not want to add on to that - especially with *everything* that has happened. Some of it is shame on their part - misplaced as that be - and some of it is fear of what opening that part of thier past up to scrutiny will result in. They see themself as a coward as it is - they don't want their loved ones to see them that way as well.

((LET ME BE CLEAR: Kel is wrong about this and eventually they get to have therapy and will unlearn/unpack their trauma around the event and what lead up to it. This is certainly not a reflection on their loved ones who in actuality I have no doubt would be nothing but supportive and understanding.))

i listen to an animorphs TTRPG podcast called Dumb Kids Playing Hero, and they just had a session where they switched from the main plot to be taxxons for a couple hours. this is about how i imagine them :)

I would DIE to see you draw the Taxxons, they were my favorite alien in animorphs with how creepy they were!

Who uses all the hot water and who steals the covers at night? (any ship, my head is completely empty)

Let’s do Dante and Kel and not just because it’ll let me sort of cheat with the answers. Surprise surprise, it’s not a binary answer ;)

So the covers question - both of them have some trauma around being cold which, along with Kel’s pain levels being adversely affected by the cold is a shitty combo. While they have a bed eachfor if they want or need space, or don’t want to disturb the other, I picture both as having way more blankets than is maybe necessary and definitely do the king size bedding so there is plenty of slack.

(also there is plenty if someone else happens to be there, just saying…). I *do* think Dante is the one who will go full blanket burrito if left to his own devices tho.

Hot water - with the living situation as it is, there is probably limiters on the amount of hot water but there are also multiple showers so its possible to get creative. I can also see there being a team effort to break the limiters lol. Of these two, Kel is likely the one to take longer showers because pain/mobility reasons but i can also see Dante being like “if you don’t hurry up, Im gonna get in there with you” and Kel just be like ‘big talk. If you’re gonna do it then do it’ lol.
