😷 Cornoavirus Protection 🦠 🦠 World Health Organization Approved Formula - Homemade DIY Hand Sanitizer
BEWARE - Use ONLY the World Health Organization Approved Formula for Homemade Hand Sanitizer to protect against the cornoavirus.
Other homemade or do-it-yourself (DIY) hand sanitizer recipes and formulas in Youtube and around the web use either the wrong percentage of products or they substitute other ingredients.

The thing is that the coronavirus is a VIRUS and many of the homemade hand sanitizers are good only for bacteria. Don't play around with variations and don't add any other ingredients than what are listed - such as fragrances or gelling agents. There are other formulas being promoted with such ingredients as aloe vera gel or, even vodka (in lieu of the rubbing alcohol). But be wise, and stick with the World Health Organization formula.
After all, they have scientists who have tested this formula for its effectiveness against viruses and not just bacteria as some of the other homemade hand sanitizers. Also, please be sure that all mixing utensils are as sanitary as possible. Here are the ingredients you will be using:
1. A 99% solution of rubbing Alcohol also called Isopropyl alcohol. This is the primary ingredient that kills germs. You need to get the 99% strength of rubbing alcohol to be sure that the end product will be effective against the coronavirus.
2. A 3% solution of hydrogen peroxide. Hydrogen peroxide is an antiseptic sold in drugstores in the wound care section. Its purpose to kill any spores in the hand sanitizer itself since the rubbing alcohol - even at 99% -  is not effective against spores.
3. Pure pharmacy grade glycerin. Glycerin is a natural compound used as a base in beauty products. You can find it in the beauty section of most drug stores and it is readily available at Amazon as well. See links above.
Some other homemade hand sanitizer recipes are including the use aloe vera gel but it has not been evaluated for possible interactions with other ingredients. So why take the risk? I suggest sticking with the WHO formula to be safe against the coronavirus.
The World Health Organization formula to make one quart of homemade hand sanitizer is as follows: - 3 cups of 99% isopropyl alcohol. - 3 Tablespoons of 3% hydrogen peroxide. - 1 Tablespoon of glycerin. Plus enough water to water to make a total of 4 cups or 1 quart. It is recommended that you mix the solution with care and use protective googles in the event of accidental splashing.
Mixing instructions 1. Put on glasses or goggles to protect your eyes. 2. Combine the three active ingredients of rubbing alcohol, hydrogen peroxide and glycerin in a sterile container. A container that has measures along its sides will be the most accurate. 3. Now, you will add clean water to reach a level of exactly 1 quart. 4. Mix thoroughly by carefully stirring or shaking if in a bottle. 5. Pour the mixture into dispensing bottles (squeeze, pump, or spray). 6. Let the solution set for at least 72 hours  before use. This allows time for any spores present in the  alcohol or the new/re-used bottles to be destroyed.
NOTE: Other homemade DIY hand sanitizers are not telling you that you need to wait 72 hours before it to be fully effective.
