Her fractured greeting, punctuated by her yawn, gave him pause and a splash of guilt. He winced and rubbed his face, peering reluctantly at the clock on his wall.

    “Oh, shoot, I didn’t realise the time! Sorry for waking you, Lucy!”

While he briefly considered the idea of quickly dismissing the call so she could go back to sleep, he ultimately decided that there would be no point to that. She was awake already anyway and it had been a little while since their last catch up. He listened to her (now rather familiar) little rant about his sleep schedule, smiling fondly as he tapped his fingers against his desk and leaned back in his chair. She did have a good point, he knew it, yet he’d never been able to slip into the pattern most people had.

Deciding to side step her questioning of his activities, he instead focused on the other topic she brought up. Dreams were always fun to discuss.

   “Oh yeah? What happened? Were you a bunny rabbit in this one again?”

ERZA PERKS UP, EYES LIGHTING up in excitement at the mention of a cute cafe. Basing on Lucy's enthusiastic tone, the place she describes sounds promising.

        Outside missions, she has always enjoyed engaging in culinary adventures. The celestial mage knows her well enough, and she appreciates the other's thoughtfulness for inviting her. The timing is perfect, considering that she doesn't have anything to do at the moment.

        Plus, it's a great day to get away from the guild, especially with how rambunctious they are today.

the 100yr quest had to be good for Something right?

𝚆𝙷𝙾 𝙰𝚂𝙺𝙴𝙳 𝚆𝙷𝙾 𝙾𝚄𝚃 𝙵𝙸𝚁𝚂𝚃? i think it could go either way, but I'm leaning towards Lis bc Lucy is kinda hopeless. like i feel Lisanna asks Lucy out 3 different times, and they go on 3 dates, and then lucy is like "tehehe, its like we're dating" and lisanna is like ".....what did you Think we were doing?" (affectionate)

Lisanna does get like, affection overload at times (like when you see something cute and you just wanna squeeze it), and so Lucy does Anything Remotely Cute, or even just exists, and Lisanna is struggling to contain herself, so it could be a case of her just going for it after something happens.

Warmth bloomed in his chest at the sound of her laugh, like the sun emerging on the horizon. He grinned, a light laugh of his own slipping out as she nudged him with her shoe. Holding a hand to his chest in a theatrical gesture, he gave her a mock offended look as if to say me? Embarrass you? That’s outrageous!

He smiled and dropped his hand, giving a hum in thought. She had a point, the Heartfilia name had certainly been prominent in recent history and it was likely a high class family such as the Calyx line would be familiar with them. As for the political situation there…he supposed he might be as out of date as Lucy was on the matter, after all…How long had it been since his key was in last in Calyx hands? Perhaps a better question might have been, how long since his key was last valued by the Calyx family? He’d had the respect of Lady Eudora, he knew that. Yet, that was generations ago and his key had become a quest reward more recently. Still, perhaps his presence and history with the family would be enough to help or set Lucy at ease.

“Well…” he started, rubbing his jaw idly in thought. A smile quirked his lips for a moment, unable to resist teasing a little, “Yes, I am a spirit, I’m glad you noticed.” He knew what she meant of course, and that sometimes it was strange for others to realise or remember what he was or how long he had been around.

“I haven’t seen myself in a museum as such yet,” he continued, “but I’ve seen depictions in books some time ago. The Delphinium museum might just change that however…”

While he couldn’t speak directly about his past summoners unless Lucy asked him specifically, he revealed what he could. “I had a contract in the city for quite some time. This would have been…hmm, over a hundred years ago now. So, I’m hopeful I’ll still be of some use to you here.”

her smile, if possible became wider. perhaps it was the leo affect, to be honest. he had a way of bringing light into her life with a certain confident warmth that everything will be fine. it was probably what made him such a good leader of the zodiac, when she thought about it. he was someone you wanted to trust. sure, she called the shots in some way, but really she has learned from watching him and knowing him. i really am lucky, she thought.

and then, of course, he teased her. laughter bubbled from her and lucy extended one of her legs in order to playfully poke at leo with her boot. "i was going to say the same to you!" she teased right back. "when we go to meet him, i have to be sure to represent myself well. after all...he might know me from my last name. and i don't know the erm political situation." she wouldn't, considering she ran away and the heartfilias went broke. but once upon a time, she was almost married of to a duke. "hopeuflly, he's more interested in us doing the job. and the museum should be lovely, despite the recent controversy."

a thought occurred to her, then.

"leo, you're — erm. a spirit, you've been on earthland here and there. have you ever seen yourself in a museum? or know someone who is in one?" lucy thought about it for herself. she would probably feel uncomfortable seeing herself as some stuffed mannequin in a museum.

ah fuck a follow-up ask but i'm also curious about your mainstays for shopping switches. i know about loobed, but. selection ultimately limited to whatever people are selling.

I've never used loobed actually. I am a freak who actually gets the newsletters from Cannonkeys, NovelKeys, Drop, and Divinikey and i think a few more places.

Divinikey and Novelkeys are amazing for getting cheap switches. I have to this day never bought full price switches I think, I always get them on sale.

It helps that.... I don't really give a shit about Boutique Switches? like, i mentioned before that I actually got some tactile bobas bc r/mk SWEARS UP AND DOWN they are the greatest tactiles of all time.

they're..... fine. not even in my top five. i was baffled at how lackluster i found them compared to other stock pre-lubed switches.

Here is my keyboard bookmark folder:

KBDFans - never used yet, they have a ton of stock but I don't love the prices and I will always buy from US shippers when I can

Akko - I've bought their 100% from their AliE store, it's my work keeb, I love it, they are the MASTERS of low price options imo and their ASA caps are great

NovelKeys - I check them every day because randomly they will do FLASH SALES on switches and slash prices heavily. also they are US-based, try to pay their workers well, take holidays off, and that kind of shit matters to me.

Drop - i don't get the hate for Drop, I love them. Frequent sales, BOGO events, wide selection, ships fast, and returns are actually viable. I think they're easy to hate on but they make the whole hobby more accessible. I want to try their DCX caps but I'm waiting for a BOGO and a friend who wants to get a set too.

Cannonkeys - GOD I WISH THEY WERE CHEAPER. they do sales on switches sometimes and those are great but fuck me they have so many good caps and I cannot bear to look bc expenny.

Divinikey - very wide and rotating selection. if you want a Keychron without the massive shipping delay, look here. also great sales.

Osume - someday I will justify to myself the price of one of their keycaps sets. today is not that day. goddamn they are gorgeous tho. /DREAMY SIGH

TheKey.Company - a lot of good stuff that I sadly don't need, but I think they're comparable to Drop for a good starter resource. great switch selection, but honestly their deskmats are great. I bought my first one from them and it was life changing.

Those are my go-to places for this bullshit terrible hobby. Follow them and you to can have a batshit collection like mine.

Maybe she should get a new one at this point (it was 8 years old now) but where would she be without walking into this shop every now and then with it? Other times she just visited with gifts. That day was far off, he knew, but she didn’t, and so he hoped she would at least make more of an effort to be careful.

A reunion hug from Lucy to Levy (conscrimare)

It was time to balance the scales. Lucy had visited her in Era several times, so it was only fair that Levy made the trip to Magnolia this time.

And it was a beautiful day for it. A sunny, cheerful day!

Levy, usually restraining herself to more professional behaviour due to her association with the council, all but bounced down the street in excitement. Sure, she and Lucy messaged and called each other often, but seeing each other in person was something that couldn’t be beaten.

She turned her eyes up to the vibrant sky and the peaceful clouds drifting by as she tried to remember if she had given Lucy any warning about the visit ( Levy wasn’t always the best when it came to things like that, despite her best intentions…). Frowning, she pulled her gaze down to the stretch of street ahead, distantly noting the mismatched materials and styles of everything ( it was rather like a healed scar, she thought, a result of the repairs that had been done following the war ).

A familiar head of blonde hair up ahead caught her attention and she grinned as she called out, “Lucy!”

Though she knew her damaged lungs wouldn’t be pleased by her efforts, she put on a burst of speed to catch up to her friend, waving at her to make herself more obvious. She watched as Lucy turned and recognised her, the pair of them rushing to meet in the middle.

Before Levy could launch herself at Lucy ( as she tended to do ), she found herself wrapped up in a hug by her. Immediately returning the embrace, Levy sighed in happiness and looked up at her with a grin.

“I’ve missed you, Lulu! How have you been?”

Pride warmed her chest and lit her face with a smile, yet a hint of bashfulness turned her eyes away and gave her the urge to rub her cheek. She certainly had put in a lot of work into her cosy little house, but there was always work to be done.

“Thanks, Lucy,” she said, with a slight tinge of pink to her skin, “It’s been really rewarding and fun.”

Excitement lit her eyes as she reached forward and took hold of Lucy’s hand. “C’mon, I’ll show you the spare room! I got it all set up for guests, so you can stay over if you want!”

She guided her through the house to the mentioned room, a lovely and airy space with a neatly made bed, set on a white bedframe. A small shelf above the bed held a few little plants, giving a splash of greenery to the room that always brought a sense of comfort to her. The watercolour paintings of spring flowers hanging in a pleasing arrangement on one wall also brought a little more colour to the room. Perhaps a little out of place in the décor, was a pink star-shaped cushion on the bed – an addition Lisanna had purchased specifically with the visit of a certain someone in mind.

Entering the room, she sat on the bed and patted the soft, quilted cover. She gave a casual shrug and smile as she said, “Or you can sleep in my room, with me. There’s enough room.”
