thinking about the time when I was 9 or 10 and I was obsessed with this mmorpg called VMK that was put out by disney and weirdly a lot of players were obsessed with "dating" in the game like finding other players to be their boyfriend or girlfriend. but the gender ratio was like 8:1 so boys were rare in the game which meant finding a boyfriend (as a girl) was almost impossible. and of course even as a kid I was a hopeless romantic so I tried desperately to find an in-game boyfriend but every boy I came across already had "taken" in their bio.
I got fed up with looking so I made a new account except this time I was a BOY (because it was 2005 and you could not change your character's gender once you created your account) with the username "lennydude" because I thought that was so obviously masculine and definitely did not give away that I wasn't actually a boy playing the game.
when I tell you the girls FLOCKED to me. I had more players trying to talk to me than I ever had playing on my main account. all so I could get that sweet sweet relationship clout, to put "taken<3" in my bio. I picked a player I liked and we were in relationship bliss for all of an hour until she dumped me in my maleficent themed room :/
and that's the story of the first and only time I've ever catfished anyone
#I think about this at least once a year#I didn't want to actually date anyone I just wanted to look desirable which is so aro of me#I miss vmk it was truly a time like. disney popped off with it.#ktxt

What you have to understand about Kingdom Keepers is that the first and second books acted as extremely elaborate commercials for VMK (Virtual Magic Kingdom) and DGamer (Disney Gamer) respectively, both online games created by Disney, with the main characters using them to communicate in lieu of the books being set during a time not so long ago when it wasn’t common to give young teenagers cell phones, and as a kid I remember hearing about these services (mainly DGamer, as I was a DS gamer), but by the time I was reading the books they had just been shut down, and I remember thinking, “oh. Huh. Maybe I should’ve hopped on that trend.”
#there were secret passwords and stuff from the books you could use in the games too#a bit 39 clues-esque#kingdom keepers#val’s kk rehash

I bought a new room in VMK Legacy, I believe it's from the movie Atlantis a great but underrated Disney film.

BRING VMK BACK, DISNEY, INSTEAD OF DEFUNDING NATGEO.
Instead of commissioning artists to create high definition copies of each room from the Virtual Magic Kingdom for about $1000 per room, maybe the use of artificial intelligence can assist. With modern day upscaling techniques, any image can be upscaled with little to no impact on quality. It isn't perfect - the detail of any sign with text in a room is lost more than I'd like it to be. The text on a lot of the signs would have to be corrected manually.

This is what I feel like a new logo for a direct sequel to Virtual Magic Kingdom would look like. The game would be similar to Club Penguin Island, but the game would be free-to-play with micro-transactions.
