Wonder Fruit Free For All- a Disney and Pixar x Maestro Hiccups One Shot

When the Wonder Fruit Tree has been sighted in the many Disney Worlds and eventually appears at the legendary studio, the Disney and Pixar characters enter an all bets are off zone to grab the fruit and be the ones to cure Balan’s hiccups first. Spoiler alert- it doesn’t end well.

“Ugh. Do you think we are there yet?!” Donald Duck asked, who had been turned into a sock puppet thanks to Balan’s reality warping hiccups. His friends weren’t faring any better, either. Mickey had become a crappy cartoon version of himself named Mokey, Goofy had become a paper bag puppet, and Daisy and Minnie suffered the same fates as their male counterparts. “We’ve gotta find that fruit, and FAST!” Goofy exclaimed. “Don’t worry. I sent word to everyone so they can meet us at the Studio. Hopefully nothing bad happened to them!” Mickey replied… only to be met with familiar faces who had changed by a LOT.

“Oh no…!” Wayfinder Princess Moana, who was now dressed as a lifeguard, said as she analyzed the area. EVERYONE had been affected by the hiccups in one way or another! Some had become toys, others had become real life animals, and a good chunk of them looked like they had walked into a costume shop and never looked back. “I don’t understand, Genie! Everyone’s looking bizarre in some way or another!” Aladdin replied as he looked around, dressed in a pastry chef outfit. “It’s all because of that fruit tree that everyone’s going crazy about. One minute it’s there, and the next moment it disappears! No one gets the chance to grab the fruit!” The blue comedian explained.

“Why is everyone staring at each other?!” Cruella De Vil asked as everyone stared in each other, whilst wearing an animal shelter outfit. Speechless was an understatement. No one had expected to wear such outfits or become such forms- and needless enough, they’d blame it on someone who’d definitely pull it off. “Shut it, Cruella. What matters is that WE get that fruit for ourselves. That way we can clean up this entire mess!” Donald stated. “Oh, you bet; crazy fur lady. The last time any of us tried to grab the tree, it disappeared out of sight!” Mei Lee replied, now wearing a rollerblading outfit. “Tch. It’s as if the most elusive tree in all of existence is gonna pop up out of nowhere.” Hades replied, adjusting his surfboard.

Suddenly, just as Hades said those words, the Wonder Fruit Tree appeared out of the blue- donning a a platinum trunk, branches, blossoms and leaves, and fruits representing every Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and other movies and series the company had ever produced. “That can’t be the same tree! The last time I saw it in Halloween Town, there were Jack o lantern fruits!” Jack Skellington, replied, dusting off the blue sweater that the hiccups had given him. “Well, it’s the same fruit and the same tree- there’s no time for blabbering! GRAB IT!!” Donald screeched, doing a battle cry as he rushed towards the tree without hesitation. Everyone else followed at the same time, shouting their battle cries as they ran to get the most elusive fruit in all of the worlds.

Dumbo (Who was a mastodon) flew above the mob and used his trunk to try and grab the fruit, Sebastian (Who had become an IRL crab) tried pinching away at the stem of one of the fruits, and even Mater; who had become a die cast- used his tow hook to grapple one of the fruits and tried to pull it down. “I will have that fruit no matter what!” Davy Jones replied as he attempted to grab one of the fruits with his claw. “Back off, people! That fruit is OURS!!” The Sanderson Sisters replied as they barged through the crowd to grab the fruit themselves. “No, it’s OURS!!” Iago replied as he tried to pull the fruit off the tree with his beak.

The struggle continued for quite some time, until Jim Hawkins of all characters (Who, thanks to the hiccups, looked like someone from the 80’s) managed to pluck the fruit from the tree. “Guys!! I got the cure! Now all I have to do is throw it to ya, right?” He asked as he displayed the elusive fruit. Everyone immediately stopped fighting each other for the fruit and immediately begun clamoring to grab the fruit from Jim’s hand. Jim immediately knew that if threw it, he knew that at at least SOMEONE would catch it. Hopping off the tree before it disappeared, he tossed the fruit towards the crowd… and it landed in the open mouth of Buck Cluck.

Everyone gasped in absolute horror. “Buck Cluck! Whatever you do, don’t—!” Mirabel Madrigal began. But her words were cut off by Buck Cluck SWALLOWING the Wonder Fruit whole. “Swallow.” She finished. “Uhhhh… what?” Buck Cluck replied, only to face a sea of horrified expressions. “That fruit you just ate was the cure to those hiccups. You’ve doomed EVERYONE!” Maui replied, dressed as a baseball hero. “BUCK CLUCK, NO!! YOU’VE KILLED US ALL!!” Donald replied as he fell to his knees; even though he didn’t have any. “Oh no, what have I done?!” Buck Cluck replied. At that moment, the hiccup wave hit the studio, turning it into the world’s biggest rubber bounce house. “This… is gonna be a long day… I don’t wanna talk about.” Donald replied, fainting.

Movie Chronicles (Interview below)

Lion King

From ages 3-9, the movie that most resonates with me is the Lion King. In 1994 the Walt Disney Animation was instantly my brother and I’s favorite movie when we were kids. When we were younger, we loved animals and our favorite happened to be the lion. My father put the movie on for my brother and I and thought we would like it. Little did he know we were going to love this movie and its upcoming movies. 

Directed by Roger Aller’s and Rob Minkoff, and great voice actors such as James Earl Jones as Mufasa, and Jeremy Irons as his brother Scar, the movie reached great success. The box office earned the Lion King making them $78.5 million. Lion King earned Gross value of $968.5 Million dollars. 

Cars

From ages 10-13 my brother was getting started into Disney and watching all their films. One night he put the Pixar film Cars on our television. This movie influenced my life of how I talked and dressed. I had cars pajamas, books, Halloween costumes and more. I would walk around my house saying Ka-chow, from Lightning Mcqueen and quoting one of my favorites, Tow mater. 

Lightning Mcqueen voiced by Owen Wilson, and Tow Mater voiced by Larry the Cable guy paired up to be a great duo in the movie series as it progressed. Cars brought in $19 million on its first day and in total earned over $1.7 billion. Cars is still a staple of my life and hopefully I get to play that for my kids. 

Grown Ups

In my mid teen years from ages 14-17, Grown-Ups 2 was a movie that I saw with my friends in the movie theatre. My friend Andrew got us dropped off and we saw this movie. It was one of the funniest movies I have seen at the time. Adam Sandler is the greatest comedic actor of all time in my opinion. 

On day one this movie made about $14 million and grossed up to $272 million. With actors like Adam Sandler, Salma Hayek, Kevin James, David Spade, and Chris Rock, many viewers knew this film was must see. This movie reaches 4.5 out of 5 stars on many reviewing websites which tells how great of a comedy movie it is. 

Hustle

From ages 18-25 my favorite movie has been Hustle. Another movie starring Adam Sandler. I found out about this movie through ads on television watching my favorite team the Philadelphia 76ers in a basketball game.  This movie takes place in Philadelphia and has some similarities to it such as the Rocky films. 

Hustle is a movie all about basketball. Adam Sandler playing Stanley Beren, and Juancho Hernangomez (NBA player) playing Bo Cruz. This movie made $3 million on its first day and $35 million grossly. This movie featured many basketball players and celebrities. I have recommended this movie to others and have gotten great feedback. Although the movie does not get as many viewers as a film like Cars and Lion King, this movie has a 4.8 out of 5 star reviews on many reviewing websites.

Interview

For this assignment I chose to interview my brother. He was there with me watching majority of the movies I have watched in my life. Majority of our favorite movies are Made by Disney. We enjoy all the storylines and songs that Disney places in their films. His list consisted of, 3-9, Lion King, 10-13, Frozen, 14-17, Star Wars: the Force Awakens, and 18-25, Hustle.

From age 3-9, Lion King was our favorite movie growing up. We both had the same favorite animal which was the lion. He guessed correctly when saying during this age group, my favorite movie was the Lion King.When interviewing my brother about our favorite movies we often thought of the great times and memories created by watching these films. We both loved every bit of that movie. Watching Simba grow up and make friends like Timone and Pumba. Simbas adventure was our favorite part. I remember us absolutely hating Scar and the hyenas. We watched this movie so many times, we began to sing all the songs in sync. We both agreed the best song on the film would be the circle of life.  We would both rank this movie as Disney’s greatest animated film. 

From age 10-13 he guessed my favorite movie was Frozen. We enjoyed watching this movie together. This is another movie by Disney that has an amazing soundtrack. I remember singing the songs with my cousins and brother. I will always remember this time period when frozen came out and the hype around the movie was once in a lifetime. It does not happen often when a movie recieves that amount of great expectations.

From 14-17, Star Wars was an amazing guess. I am a huge Star Wars Fan but I enjoyed Adam Sandler a little more. Additionally, I did watch all the Star Wars films with my brother. As a movie series it Is definitely one of my favorites. We both loved the soundtracks and while watching paid very close attention. My brother said, "For the both of us, this movie we paid very close attention to, unlike others." We went to all the Star Wars Premiers together, ones that we were alive for.

Now at age 18-25 My brother guessed correctly again with his choice of Hustle. He knows I love basketball and Philadelphia sports. This movie Hustle, by Adam Sandler checks both of those boxes perfectly. Many of my favorite athletes and actors were in this movie. This film had many similarities to rocky and other many other Philadelphia icons. I would recommend this movie to many.

The Masked Singer Season 6 Episode 4 Recap: Group A (again) plus One Wildcard Crashes the Houseparty! (Commentary & Guesses)

Hello, hello, humans of the internet! Welcome to Ana’s Masked Singer recap, where I, Ana, recap every episode of The Masked Singer. I’m so sorry this is going up so late, legit this episode happened last week and here I am posting it after the next episode came out. It’s just been a super chaotic week for me with work and school, but also I was feeling a bit under the weather this weekend, so I couldn’t really do this when I usually do, but whatever I’m back and I promise (hopefully) I will try to get back to the swing of things aka posting these the Fri, Sat, or Sun after the show and not the Wednesday of the next episode like damn. Anyways, I’m babbling, let’s get into this acid trip of an episode (that’s the only way I can explain it):

Alright, so in this episode, we had our remaining 4 Group A peeps perform (Baby 👶🏼, Hamster 🐹, Skunk 🦨, and Bull 🐂) plus a new wildcard Pepper 🌶. It was an interesting one so let’s get into it, starting with the eliminated contestant…

Performance Commentary: This performance is one I will never forget, I can say that with utmost confidence. It made me question a tiny bit why I watch this show and do these recaps in like a " wow this is a weird show" kind of way. He sang the Flinstones theme song, yup and that wasn't even the weirdest part. The weird part was that it was actually pretty good, like who would've known?! He has a pretty great singing voice for someone who doesn't sing professionally. He sang it like operatically which made it weirder wow.

Having said that, he was revealed to be (as I guessed)...

Larry the Cable Guy

I knew it!! Side note: his head is so small compared to the baby’s limbs and costume when he was on masked omg. Anyways, this is 4.5/5 correct this season (the half was Mother Nature) for me. Anyways, here are the clues (he’s said to be the most recognizable voice of our generation and I completely recognized that voice in the first performance):

Baby Book with Tooth= he was in Tooth Fairy 2

Road clue= reference to his role in Disney’s Cars (there were many references of cars, roads, etc)

Party Favor was a cooler and a grill (still the life of the tailgate even with a little grease on the grill)= the grease again is a reference to Cars where he played Tow Mater and the grill is because he had a Holiday Grilling Set and a Tailgate portable disposable grill

Micheal Straham as his friend= Larry was on The Chew with him and Straham interviewed him too

Now onto our remaining contestants including the newest wildcard:

1. Hamster 🐹

Performance: he sang Crazy Little Thing Called Love by Queen with the same Elvis impression he did in his first performance. If you have heard him sing with his daughter Elle King (who’s a famous singer in her own right), he does this singing impression all the time, because he is a huge Elvis fan (sorry I’m spoiling who I think it is… but I already said it in the last performance of his). I feel like he could be next to go, because he was the weakest performance of Group A. I liked it, but not wowed by it.

Having said that, I’m sticking with I think this hamster is (locking this answer in)…

Rob Schneider

Clues:

In his 20s living in a huge city working with his pals= hired in SNL (NY) as a writer then graduated to full cast member, working with Adam Sandler, Chris Rock, Chris Farley, and David Spade (they still work together over the years)… also reference to the movie Grown Ups

Bassett Hound (“I’m a party animal”)= reference to the movie The Animal he was in, where his character is donated the organs of various animals including a Bassett Hound

Not being famous and then being famous= SNL made him famous

Party Favor was a beer helmet with 2 water bottles in it (“I like to stay hydrated”)= he was in The Waterboy and wore a beer helmet in that movie

2. Skunk 🦨

Performance: She sang Midnight Train to Georgia by Gladys Knight & The Pips, and I really loved it, I feel like it was her best performance yet! She showed so much emotion in this song and you can hear it through the mask, because she lived what the song it says. She really added some runs and made the song her own, which was my favorite part of this performance. Super strong!

Faith Evans

Clues:

Blew a kiss to Pufferfish= collaborated with Puff Daddy in 1998 on the song I’ll Be Missing You which won her first Grammy as a tribute to her late husband The Notorious BIG

Had to cut people off that were closest to her= admitted it in her best selling memoir Keep the Faith

Party Favor was a boom box= her prime as a singer was in the 90s where boom boxes were the main way to listen to music before the Walkman and iPod

3. Bull 🐂

Performance: He sang Circus by Britney Spears, and this is the most Todrick performance ever, from how he walks to his dance moves to saying “Free Britney” in the middle of the song. He even did a split! Like wow this performance was amazing but it kind of exposed that who I think it is is the correct answer.

I’m locking this in, I am so sure that the Bull is…

Todrick Hall

Clues:

Scrubs= he has a song called Mask, Gloves, Soap, Scrubs where he parodied his own song at the start of the pandemic

Carnegie Hall= his last name is Hall (also why the Disney concert hall was shown last time, many halls to represent his surname)

No stranger to a house party (notorious for rave music and everybody dancing)= in 2019, he released a trilogy of EPs called Haus Party

The Wrapping (Rapping?) Matters= he also raps besides singing

4. Our new wildcard: Pepper 🌶

Performance: She sang Jealous by Labyrinth and it was such a beautiful performance! Her voice is immensely strong (I’ve never heard her sing like this, and it’s amazing) and you can feel the emotion she is singing through the mask, it was fantastic. I knew she was gonna make it far as soon as she opened her mouth to sing the first note, amazing voice wow! This one did wow me.

I think that this chili pepper has to be…

Natasha Bedingfield

This is just a hunch I have because of her singing voice and the fact that she did go viral on Tik Tok for one of her older songs… I’m not 100% on this but I feel confident from this first performance it could be her, here are the clues that convinced me:

Slight accent in the start of the clue package= she is English (idk that honestly, I had to Google it)

Something she did went viral & Xs and Os (Tic Tak Toe)= she has a Tik Tok account where she posts regularly, but a Tik Tok dance for her older song Unwritten became viral, and the song is a hit sound on the app.

Her party favor was roller skates (“because you don’t need a driver’s license”)= she has a song called Roller Skate so it could be a reference to that

Tonight, I had to say goodbye to a dear friend. While we were rearranging the garage today. My mom discovered loads of things in the attic that was completely covered in dust and debris since all of it was up there for a real long time. One of them was an old costume I wore but it wasn’t just any costume, no. I’m talking about my Tow Mater costume! 

Halloween 2013 was the year I wore this incredible costume that my dad created for me. This Mater costume was made from a bunch of boxes all glued and duct taped together to create the rusty tow truck we all know and love. it was painted in Mater’s colors, brown, green and blue it was all complete with his “Tow Mater Towing and Salvage of Radiator Springs” on both of his doors and he even had a sliver tow hook which was held by a yellow rope. 

Also, I even had a small light up lantern I placed on the back of Mater to look like he had the Ghostlight on his tail just like in the short, Mater and the Ghostlight. When the costume was finished, my family took pictures of me in this incredible costume and I was ready for action! 

Unfortunately, wearing a giant huge glued down cardboard box on you really kind of slows you down. So, I had to get out of the costume and spend the rest of the Halloween night wearing my brown suit that I had on to complete the look. But luckily, I still got a bunch of candy. 

After Halloween 2013 was over, my Mater costume was sitting in the garage getting completely covered with dust as it sat on a high shelf for knows how long until we decided to move it into the attic for storage and it stayed up there for a long, long time... 

Until today, when we finally got back to the old attic to go through a bunch of our old stuff that we didn’t need. My Mater costume was found once again and I never saw it like this. 

The costume was completely falling apart, the engine was destroyed entirely and you can even seeing the paint coming off of it along with the duct tape. My mom said she was going to dismantle it and throw it away. So before the great send off of Cardboard Mater, I had to take pictures so that all you can check out this amazing costume that my dad created for me. 

Halloween 2013 was a year I’ll never ever forget, it was the first Halloween I was a Pixar character and one of the main heroes from Disney Pixar’s Cars!

Halloween specials related to the classic Disney universe

This applies mainly to the world of Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy and their friends and acquaintances. For the most part, I'm going to pay a little attention to classic shorts and episodes from various series related to the classic Disney universe, with Halloween specials. To be honest, I'm not a fan of that holiday, I prefer Christmas and Easter rather than Halloween, but again I can't help but avoid cartoons about that holiday, which really has great specials, not to say too much. Since I can't process all of these specials, and I don't have the time to do so, and I'll talk about Halloween for the second time about the series I like to watch. I apologize for this and let's get started: 1.Trick or Treat This is Donald's brief shown in 1952. It portrays Huey, Dewey and Louie trying to get candy from their uncle, but Donald unfortunately cheated on them, and they try to use the witch Hazel to cheat on Donald (Donald cheated and the witch now takes revenge). I think most of them know this and I won't talk about it (that's why there aren't many pictures related to it, since there are already pictures) so much, just to say I liked this short.

2.Ducky Horror Picture Show It's an episode from the original Ducktales, 1987 version, related to Halloween where the monsters partly help Scrooge around the house on his harbor, but then they take over his house and make a mess. Somehow, Scrooge and Huey, Dewey and Louie manage to calm the monsters, and Scrooge made a deal with a werewolf and a vampire around the business, and they made a fairground with Money Bean, where King Kong (the giant gorilla) was.

3.Hot Spells Episode from Darkwing Duck. In this episode, Darkwing Duck and Gosalyn help Morgana with her new presentation regarding her new magical powers, but Morgana unfortunately fails. Morgana's father and her nanny also come to her presentation. Here is a further description extracted from the Disney Wiki:Darkwing and Gosalyn go with Morgana to her old magic alma mater, where Morgana is to present her paper on a profound magical breakthrough. While there, Gosalyn is allowed to participate in some classes because of her natural affinity for the unnatural; but quickly finds the underpinnings of magic, complex mathamatics, too boring for her tastes. Bored because getting used car salesmen and politicians aren't a challenge. Bielzebub finds out about Darkwing and Gosalyn being at the school, and decides this is his chance to move up in the rankings of top villain-by getting Darkwing once and for all! Gosalyn tries to find a short cut to learning magic without the hard math involved, but is hoodwinked into using forbidden spells when Beelzebub disguises himself as the school janitor. By using the forbidden spells she allows of Beelzebub to steal Darkwing's soul. Can Gosalyn and Morgana find some way into tricking him into letting Darkwing go?” Overall, Morgana and Gosalyn save the Darkwing Duck, the so-called devils are defeated, and Gosalyn has learned the lesson of not dealing with magic, as well as negotiating with the unknown, especially if the devils are involved, because once a pact with the devil means a lifelong accident, and is a message do not negotiate with the devil. In the end, Gosalyn received the sentence that she could not buy new comics for a while.

4.Hallow-Weenies

The episode from Goof Troop also seems very funny to me. Here's a description from the Disney Wiki, and the pictures explain it enough:”Max, P.J., and Pistol get off of a haunted house ride at a Halloween carnival. Pistol wants to stay and ride one more but her brother reminds her that they don't want to be late for trick-or-treating.The kids stop at Pete's new property, an old, scary-looking mansion, which he wants to turn into a new hotel. Two contractors jump out the window of the attic, frightened and telling stories of ghosts in the house. Pete angrily dismisses them and scares them off. Max and P.J. decide they want to come back at night to go inside.Later that night in front of the mansion, Max convinces a nervous P.J. to go in. As they approach the front door, the door swings open and a floor board knocks them inside. They move slowly up the stairs. When the boys make it to the attic, they look into a mirror and see a ghost floating behind them. They proceed to jump out of the building and run scared all the way home.When the boys get home, they tell Goofy, Pete, and Pistol about the ghost they saw at the mansion. Pete says that ghosts aren't real, but Goofy tells him he is mistaken. Goofy shows them a pocket watch he says was awarded to his great-great-grandfather Gooferamus T. Goofy for catching ghosts.Pete takes Goofy and the boys to the hotel to prove there aren't any ghosts there. Max and P.J. stay outside while the adults go into the mansion. They suddenly encounter three ghosts, who prank and torment them. The boys hear all the commotion from outside and run in to protect their fathers. When the boys run away to get help, it's shown that the three ghosts are physically unable to leave the mansion boundary.Max and P.J. accidentally summon the ghost of Gooferamus T. Goofy. Max tells him they need his help to catch the ghosts in the the mansion and save their fathers, but Gooferamus just says a few words and climbs back into the watch, to the boys confusion. They take his random advice and use it to try and catch the ghosts, first by soaking them in honey. Max manages to catch two on a wet mop and P.J. wrings them into separate jars.The two ghosts escape their jars and they all run from Max and P.J., who have a ghost vacuum. They trap the ghosts in bubbles and Pete tries to make them leave. The ghosts explain to them that they would love to leave, but have unfinished business and that's the reason they've been trapped in the mansion since 1929. They are musicians and never got to play their gig, due to a "load of Halloween corn fermenting and blowing up the place". They just need to be invited by Pete."Fingers McFee and his Ragtime Band" perform for the whole gang, including Peg and Pistol, while at the same time pranking Pete. After the show, a ghost bus lands in front of the mansion to pick up the trio. The ghosts thank the boys for helping them move on by giving them slide whistles to make them "honorary rascals".The next day the boys high-five about having the best Halloween ever. A car drives by, asking Pete if they are at the hotel with the ghosts. Pete yells at them, telling them there aren't any ghosts here. When they say they don't want to stay here and then drive away, Pete changes his mind and chases after them.”

5. The Boy Who Cried Ghost

The episode from the Quack Pack is also funny and interesting in my opinion. It's Dewey who likes to make jokes that scares his brothers and his uncle, but for one joke, they are stopped in a dark forest and then forced to go to a terrible castle. Dewey continues to tease his brothers Huey and Louie and his uncle Donald, which gives his brothers and his uncle nerves. Dewey however meets the ghost Sigismund and gets scared and goes outside. However, he is brought back to the castle, his conscience or his guardian angel, and Dewey decides to help his brothers as well as his uncle rescue them from the monster, namely the vampire, the ghost, the werewolf, and the Frankenstein Viking woman. They scare them, but the monsters themselves are scared of one thing, and they are cute animals and then Huey, Dewey, and Louie Duck dress up as cute animals (costumes) and manage to scare the monsters out of the castle.

6.House of Villains I can also freely say the best episode of House of Mouse, I recommend that they definitely look at this episode, where the Disney villains abduct from Mickey Mouse, his House of Mouse. I think most know about this episode and I don't need to discuss it.

There's so much about my favorites (but they're not the only ones yet, but they're out of the classic Disney universe, but about it a second time) with Halloween specials. Which special do you particularly like and some comments about it.

Never would have guessed, that one of the highlights of my life would be making a Mater costume for my son. Spent about 4-5 days workin on it. All hand cut. Only had to buy some black Foamcore for the tires and straps for the shoulder harness. Had a blast playin games at our churches Harvest Festival. Green Arrow was putting on a Gun Show. Got home and we hit up our neighbors for more tasty treats. Disneyland Halloween: 5 things to check out

It’s that time of the year. Halloween is upon us, and nobody celebrates it quite like Disney.  If you’re planning a trip to Disneyland this month, here’s a list of five things to keep an eye out for (in no particular order):

1.       Cars Land (aka. Radiator Screams) (DCA)

Cars Land is the crown jewel of Disney California Adventure (DCA).  Home to one of the most popular attractions, Radiator Springs, this land is an amazing place to walk through on a normal day.  Now, the town has come to celebrate Halloween in a way only cars can. Check it out during the daytime where you can see lug wrench spiders or posters of Car versions of Halloween classics. Then, come back at night to see the town lit up.  Check out the zombie car impaled by a tree.  If you wait long enough, the car will beep and play a haunting radio music.  Then, take a look at the ofrenda for Doc Hudson (as made famous by Coco). If you’re a fan of the Cars movies, you’ll recognize many references.  On top of that, the characters come out in Halloween costumes.  Mater is a vampire.  Red is a clown.  Lightning is a superhero.  

2.       Haunted Mansion Holiday Nightmare (Disneyland)

Since 2001, the Haunted Mansion has been transformed into this special version, themed after the Nightmare Before Christmas.  Jack and his friends from the movie have taken residence in the mansion, turning it into their twisted take on Christmas.  The stretching room has been updated with some great effects.  The classic characters from the Mansion remain, such as the Ghost Host, Madame Leota, and the dancing ghosts.  But we also see Jack as Sandy Claws, Zero, and many of the characters from the movie.  Songs such as “This is Halloween” and “Kidnap the Sandy Claws” are mixed in with Halloween versions of Christmas classics.  This is one of the best overlays to a classic ride.  While carrying some familiar elements to the original, Holiday Nightmare carries a very distinct look and feel.  It works as both a Halloween and Christmas ride, and it’s definitely worth checking out.    

3.       Halloween Screams Fireworks (Disneyland)

Nobody does fireworks like Disney.  Fireworks light up the sky while animation projects onto the castle.  This time, the villains take center stage as Jack (from Nightmare Before Christmas) hosts.  Compared to Disney’s other firework shows, it’s okay.  Not my favorite, but still worth checking out.  It’s entertaining, and it’s unique to this time of year.  Be sure to get there early as standing room fills up quickly.

4.       Guardians of the Galaxy: Monsters After Dark (DCA)

If you’re a fan of the Guardians of the Galaxy ride, you’ll enjoy this Halloween overlay.  After the events of Breakout, Groot had been left behind, and all the monsters have been loosed.  Rocket recruits you to help rescue his friend.  It’s a nice Halloween addition to make your visit extra special.

5.       Halloween Food (Disneyland & DCA)

Another advantage of going to Disney during the holiday seasons is to check out the unique foods only available during these times.  If you’re a churro fan, you may want to check out the orange sugar churro with candy corn sauce.  Or the pumpkin spice churro with cream cheese frosting.  Or perhaps the Maleficent churro covered with cookie crumbs.  There are many other Halloween sweets to choose from, such as spider bundt cakes, pumpkin spice Mickey beignets, graveyard cupcakes, or spider macaroons.  Perhaps you’d like something more savory, like a haunted hotdog, anti vampire pizza, or cosmic chili pasta.  Then, top it down with Oktoberfest beer or green apple spell lemonade.  No matter where you go, you should be able to find some unique Halloween treats to satisfy your ghoulish sweet tooth.

 As a quick note: I know I didn’t mention Space Mountain’s overlay, Ghost Galaxy.  I’m personally not a big fan.  Nothing wrong with the ride.  I’m sure there are many fans out there.  As far as overlays go, this one doesn’t really add much to the experience. Especially when compared to Hyperspace Mountain, which is one of my personal favorite versions of any ride. Ghost Galaxy is fine if you’d like to experience the ride structure of Space Mountain.  I wouldn’t consider it worth waiting in line for.

To Roman, nothing is impossible. Not following his older brother Patton to acting college, not being a loser taking on the school’s popular Student Body President and definitely not writing and performing an epic school play with no money and six cast and crew members.

Logan’s father had made him promise to do his best in the debate, and to be careful of the New York boys as his own heart had once been broken by a pink-haired artist from the Bronx. His mother had told him to not bring revision and have fun instead. As soon as he got onto the coach Joan was in charge, making sure everyone was ready, and he’d uninstalled email from his phone so the only motions he’d be worrying about were hypothetical questions with meticulously researched answers. His bag was full of notes and Agatha Christie novels. Virgil and Roman had never been connected to debate at all.

‘Alright, guys, we’re almost there so we need to wake up a bit.’ An orange beanie popped over a seat.

Susan threw a travel pillow at Joan and groaned, ‘It’s five in the morning!’

‘We’re going to do word association games!’ Logan sat up, grinning at Joan, who had looked right at him when they suggested that.

‘Debate!’ shouted Miles at the back.

‘Happiness!’ was Logan’s reply.

Below-gan a cheerfully shabby apartment near the best theatre school in New York City, a bespectacled teen was psyching himself up to ring a doorbell with a pawprint on it and a handwritten label in multi-coloured felt tip. ‘You need help, kid?’ asked someone half-dressed in costume for their audition in Heathers. ‘I’m fine, thank you.’ replied Logan stiffly, trying not to stare at the garish tartan blazer.

The girl squinted at him for a moment. ‘You Patton Prince’s little brother?’

If there was one thing Logan wanted to do less than approach the brother of his nemesis the night before the most important debate competition of his life, it was small talk. ‘I sure am.’

His voice was shaky and he was desperately avoiding eye contact. Taking pity on him, the girl quickly leaned over him and pressed the button. ‘Patton, your brother.’

There was a crinkle on the line while Logan awkwardly manoeuvred himself under the girl’s arm. ‘Send him up right away! Boyo am I glad to see you!  Whatcha doing out here? Well you’d buzzer come right up. Thanks Gabriella. Good luck!’

‘Thanks Pat!’ The girl shrugged at Logan’s scowl, put her croquet stick over her shoulder, and marched off, whistling ‘Candy Store.’

Recalibrating the school legend of Patton Prince with this goofy character, Logan started up the stairs, needing to reach the apartment as quickly as possible before he began to panic and rethink this truly, truly awful plan. Oh, look at that – he was already panicking! He paused outside 109, rehearsing what he would say. Then he rapped smartly on the door. It was flung open by a – woman? With glasses? He’d thought that Patton was a guy, but clearly-

She was singing. She was singing at him. She was wearing a trilby. A man jumped out behind a hat stand and swirled her into a kiss before two more men came out with synchronised jazz hands. Unsurprisingly, the group’s singing was very good. In time with the music, a man in a baby blue polo, the same glasses as Logan himself and a trilby jumped out ‘I want to be a part of it – New York, New York!’ He cut out suddenly, leading the other four to trail off, looking at him in confusion.

‘Who are you?’

Logan tried to practice socialisation, he really did. He could do small talk with students, ask intelligent questions about music with Elise and had stopped using probability percentages and fronts in his discussion of weather. But he was not ready for this. The display explained Roman but not really anything else. Patton recognised the boy in the doorway – although based off the pictures Roman had sent him he should have devil horns in red biro ink. It just took him a moment to process what that particular boy was doing here, some thousand miles away from their home town. The boy readjusted his tie and decided to break the silence. ‘Greetings, Patton Prince. I am Logan Sanders, the Student Body President of your alma mater, Simmons High.’ He paused for a moment, observed the expressions of the five roommates and explained further. ‘I am not Roman. Nor do I like or even tolerate singing, dancing and such frivolities in make-believe.’ When no-one responded to this he continued. ‘However, I am here about Roman and his play. On behalf of the school.’

Patton’s face broke into a sunshiny grin, ‘Well, shucks, come on in.’

Logan quickly unlaced his shoes, although he didn’t like the lack of formality that afforded him. He was pretty sure that the yellow of the hallway walls and the purple of the carpet were clashing colours, and he did not understand why there were multicoloured handprints on the kitchen cabinets or a host of stuffed animals on the sofa even though the average age of the occupants was twenty-two. Despite the fact that the other four students had each been in the middle of something before trying to surprise Patton’s little brother, they made themselves comfortable in the living room, interested in the next instalment in the saga Patton relayed to them each week. Logan elected to stand, not taking off his backpack.

Larry spoke incredulously over the quiet noises from Patton making tea in the other room ‘Logan who closed the theatre programmes?’

‘I did not close the theatre programmes, I advised the school on the best course of action to take to help the sixty-five students in sports-based extracurriculars.’ Logan replied to a spot one metre over Larry’s head.

Dot continued – ‘Logan from Patton’s old high school? In Florida?’

Corbyn broke in, ‘Do you want to sit down, at least? We’re not scary people.’

‘Yes, yes and no thank you. Scariness is subjective.’ Logan still couldn’t make eye contact.

‘What’s your favourite Disney film?’ was Sloane’s question.

‘Big hero six. I fail to see how that is relevant to the matter at hand.’ He was being weird, he was being weird, what would Virgil say? ‘Since we are all destined to die alone anyway.’ Reading the room, he should not have taken socialising tips from a guy who hissed when people annoyed him.

‘Well…’ Sloane replied, trying to keep his expression neutral, ‘I have a Baymax plushie in my bedroom if you want to hold it?’

‘I am not a child.’

‘So…’

‘Yes please.’

Patton nudged the door open with his hips, holding three mugs in each hand. With a swiftness caused by bitter experience, Corbyn took a few off him. Logan was now sitting cross-legged on the floor holding a Baymax toy and cradling a mug of tea, surrounded by college students and cartoon memorabilia.

Patton sat near him, leaning his back on an empty armchair. ‘So, kiddo, what’s up?’

‘You may be aware that Roman is attempting to put on a play without any school funding.’

‘Yes.’

‘Well, I am here to ask for your assistance. It is likely students here would donate to putting on the play given their passion for theatre and probable affection for you. As both a fourth year and scholarship student it is also likely that you could ask a scout to go and see the people performing, as well as the set and costumes.’

‘I’ll do whatever I can, sure. People love an underdog. How’s Roman doing?’

‘Whoa, whoa, whoa!’ broke in Corbyn, ‘Logan, do your parents know where you are? Why are you in New York?’

‘I am here for a national debate competition.’

‘Yeah, I’m still a bit confused.’ added Sloane, ‘aren’t you trying to stop the play, so they won’t get funding.’ He broke off at Patton’s ‘parental warning’ eyebrows.

Logan put his mug down on the coffee table with a bang. ‘Falsehood!’

‘Alright slugger, calm down. Sloane here was just getting a little carried away, is all. I’m sure you’re all president and correct.’

‘Humorous.’ said Logan with no expression whatsoever, ‘If you are in accordance with this plan, then I shall leave, I have a competition tomorrow after all.’

‘We do need to iron out some details first. Could I get your number?’

As they exchanged numbers Dot made an escape back to her thesis, but the rest of the students were in this for the long-haul.

Corbyn was not going over his Hamlet monologue one more time, so he grabbed a piece of paper and a pen in the intent of taking notes. ‘How much money do you need?’

‘About $200 should be sufficient. That will cover costumes and the last few props.’

As Corbyn scribbled that down Patton tilted his head to the side. ‘Roman didn’t mention that you co-ordinated this with him. He could have just called me.’

Logan stood up a little straighter, ‘Well, uh, the thing is – he doesn’t know I’m here. Technically he does know that I am in New York, but not that I visited you. I asked Talyn for the hypothetical price of costumes and decided to set this plan into motion.’

‘A random, anonymous act of kindness?’ squealed Patton.

‘…sure.’  This was strictly true, even if Logan’s reason for not wanting to have a conversation with Roman and his friends was a little more complicated than that. ‘It is common knowledge that you came here for college, and Elise asked her older brother where you lived. He gave me the address on the condition that I told you ‘spotlight llama’. What does it mean?’

Patton burst into laughter. ‘Just a little incident involving us two when we were in ‘Singing in the rain’ together. Nothing to…’ he broke off giggling, ‘Nothing to….hoo boy….nothing to allarma you.’

Inside jokes and people laughter at something Logan didn’t understand. Another one of his favourite things.

‘So rather than talk to Roman and email Patton, you estimated the costs of the costumes plus props and visited us in New York?’ asked Corbyn, looking up from his sheet.

‘I do not understand everyone’s confusion. I am here to help. Just let me sort this out.’

‘You don’t have to do too much. I know I may seem like a big ol’ goofball but I’m four years older than you and perfectly capable of doing this. We just need to find a way to transfer the money.’

Logan frowned at Patton. ‘I never said you weren’t capable. I do not doubt that you will perform your part of this adequately.’

The man shrugged guilelessly as Corbyn smiled down at his sheet, still not quite used to Patton’s ability to read people after four years. ‘Well, let’s sort this out.’

Eventually everything was prepared and Logan got ready to go back to the hostel for dinner and last-minute practice with the team.

As Logan put his shoes on, Patton leaned on the garish wall opposite him, looking at the door rather than into Logan’s eyes.

‘Everything’s going to be fine, kiddo. Be easy on yourself.’

‘What makes you say that?’

‘A feeling.’

‘The bane of my existence.’

Patton smiled then held the door open for him. ‘Good luck tomorrow – have a de-great debate! Yeesh, not my best. Ooh, also! Say hi to Elise for me! And tell Roman to sleep and to call me if he has a problem with the play.’

Logan straightened his shoelaces, then stood. ‘I can’t do that. From the way your roommates were behaving, you should know how much Roman dislikes me. I mean, he thinks I would sabotage his play!’

Patton folded his arms and raised his eyebrows. ‘No. You’re going to tell him. You’re going to tell him that you came to New York and asked me for help, and you’re going to tell him that I think you’re pretty neat, and you’re going to tell him to stop overworking himself on the play and to go out on the weekend with his friends, and you’re going to do the same thing!’

Logan saw his mother in that speech and was rightly scared of the sound of tough love.

He nodded.  ‘Alright. Thank you. Farewell.’

So Roman hadn’t told Patton that Logan didn’t have any proper friends now. Perhaps it was hard to tell when from the outside Logan was objectively one of the most popular people in their school. Still, it was a small mercy, and since he had no intention of following through with any of Patton’s orders he was glad that there was at least one promise he wasn’t breaking.

Since they were talking about house of mouse on the TL today I'm now imagining an au where (most of) my disney OCs work as staff

Alma (Mater): Medic On Duty, in case there's an accident as well as a mechanic if the machinery breaks down. Since the movie projector is vastly complicated they need someone with the skills to fix it they stopped trusting Goofy lol. A gag is that everyone confuses her with Alma Madrigal.

Mára: waitress especially for the Disney Villains - trust me she is NOT afraid of them not even Hades - she even put Hans in his place one time by reminding him she's the one who was able to let walk in public due to him being a (court ordered) part of her Abused Victim Program. Has invited the whole madrigals to The House

Paige: also a waitress, for the Disney Princesses. She loves hearing their stories despite having listened to them multiple times. She especially has high respect for Tiana.

Soraya: Bouncer. Mickey was skeptical at first due to her age but her old man Milo's says "trust me she GOT this she surfed through lava one time".

Aggie: set designer, her keen eye is useful for small details. She also helps make furniture to accommodate the anthro/animal characters

Arthur: Guest host if Mickey's not around. Not as popular but his good looks is a hit for the younger fans. Basically Ryan Seacrest to Mickey's Johnny Carson

Itzel: Costume designer, helped design the uniforms and creates events based on fashion shows.

Starla Nebula: Dishwasher, her methodical process and tidiness makes her a great addition to clean up staff. Her pappy Commander Nebula isn't really happy with the type of job BUT Starla wants to contribute plus she can't cook and has no patience dealing with Zurg and Warp and Mr. Potato Head.

Cosma Nebula: Special effects, helps that she can use her powers for it

Ariana Conelli: Preparation, sets the tables and ingredients. She dates Syndrome in this AU since here he never killed people ~ still despises Mr Incredible and most Supers but Hey it's a start.

Roxanne: Minnie's intern, often serves a waitress role too. Bright outgoing personable nature makes her very popular. She's nervous around villains and some of the "rougher" characters so that when Mára takes over.

Tank: Aw yeah the big man himself he is a bouncer. His massive size makes him very intimidating. But he's also sweet, as long as you are nice to him. Being removed from a certain cheater's influence helped a LOT.

BOBBY!! No Pinocchio antics here! He's a chef making some the DEELEECHSHUS gourmet cheese dishes! With Easy Cheese as a topping. Bruno's rats loves it!

Bradley: To pay for all the damage he caused at the X Games resulting in getting cut off from his inheritance he has to work at HoM. Nobody really trusts him. Tank especially gives him the glare from leaving him to die. So Bradley basically keeps quiet, save for the occasional snark under his breath. Somehow formed a connection to Hans due to how similar their current positions are.

Well after seeing some footage on YouTube, it looks like Radiator Springs for the first time was given a Halloween makeover in the Cars Land section of the Disney California Adventure park. Each one of the Meet and Greet cars are also in costume. Mater is in his vampire outfit, Lightning is dressed up as a superhero, you accurately predicted Red's clown costume, Cruz Ramirez is a pirate, and DJ is sporting a crazy mohawk on his roof. A black cutout of Lizzie on a broomstick is also on her shop.

I nearly screamed when I saw the picture of Red’s costume mere weeks after I came up with that headcanon XD

I’ve seen so many pictures of Radiator Springs in it’s Halloween get up, and I really wanna go. I also really wanna go when it’s set up all normal like, but come on. Cars AND Halloween? Those are two of my favorite things. I am incomplete without them.
