I love to bring my intersectionality out in my style. I often promote visibility and encourage empowerment for better disabled representation through fashion, and this led to me walking my first London Fashion Week this year as a disabled intersectional being on a runway with a mobility aid. Open, proudly queer and fully visible. This for me was both beautiful and empowering. The messages I received from other intersectional disabled humans was absolutely priceless. To be able to be part of a group of 30 strong disabled runway models in one show and being only one of a few intersectional and queer people in adaptable clothing was an iconic moment. Not only for myself but for the wider disabled queer community.

[image description] Two images next to each other. On the left the characters Jo, Meg, Beth and Amy being read to by their mother Marmie in a Christmas setting. On the right, Jo, Beth, Meg and Amy gathered around their mother Marmie all looking into different directions.
One question listeners: are you a Jo, Amy, Beth, or Meg? This episode, we’re discussing characters in the 1994 and 2019 versions of Little Women, and diving deep into subtextual readings and fan interpretations.
We’ll discuss disability, autistic, and queer readings, and try to answer our question: is Little Women a ‘story for every generation’, and why is it so popular?
To listen, just head to the link in our bio, or find us wherever you find podcasts 🎧

i found this on tiktok and this makes so much sense, it's talking about why people get fakeclaimed online so much.
and additionally to the point that the creator of the video is making, if you see/meet one disabled person, you have seen/met ONE disabled person.
most of my friends are autistic, as am i. we share similarities, but we also have our differences because it is a spectrum and we are not a hivemind.
my brother and i have the same chronic illness. when we were kids, our symptoms were about the same. now that we're both adults, his symptoms are lesser and my symptoms are worse. he can function as normal while i struggle daily with energy and frequently with mobility. disability and illness aren't predictable, nor are two people with the same disability carbon copies of each other.

@aquietplacemovie (2021) is this Sunday for us so we had to rewatch the first to catch my partner back up. I really love A Quiet Place (2018) due to it’s unique dealing with a disabled character in horror. The film acts both as a complex production while simultaneously being simplistic as there are only about 25 vocal lines of dialogue and ASL is used for the majority of communication. The dynamics between real life couple Emily Blunt and @johnkrasinski show vibrantly throughout the film as did the bond between the entire family. In an unrealistic world the characters felt incredibly real which made me hang on to the edge of my seat the entire time. Let’s not forget the horrifying monster reveal that was the close to last editing task on the film and the one that weighed the most on its success. Bonus points to Emily Blunt for that iconic and thrilling near silent birthing scene. Fun fact: did you know the production bought all the corn seen in the film and hired farmers to grow it specifically for the film? By the way, rating for (2018) 9/10 #AQuietPlace #AQuietPlace2 #Horror #DisabledRepresentation #ASL #Thriller #BonusTrivia #ApocalypseFilms #MonsterFilms #MutantFam #HorrorFam #QuietOnSet #HarvestMoon #GotCorn #HideAndGoBirth #EmotionallyRiveting (at Loma Linda) https://www.instagram.com/p/CPcjc3mA_MQ/?utm_medium=tumblr

PLATFORM: #Hulu
Genre: #Comedy TV Series
SEASON 2 RELEASE DATE SET FOR #RAMY!!!
.
QUICK INFO: The AMAZING Hulu show, starring #RamyYoussef (right off a #GoldenGlobes win, for #bestactor in a musical or #comedy!) will be returning on May 29. The show tells the tale of the titular character’s journey to get his life on track, while also struggling with discovering who he truly is, at an older age (as seems to be common, if not the standard, nowadays!).
.
THE DEETS: What’s special about “Ramy” is how we get to see his experience through the lens of being an #Egyptian-American, and as a #Muslim. We see how his life has been shaped by growing up and living with profiling & stereotypes in a post-9/11 world, as well as his struggle to live up to the standards of parents that are first-generation immigrants. There’s also a focus on his self-imposed journey towards inner-discovery, as he works out how deep he can commit to living his faith, amidst the temptations of #American life. While these are heavy topics, “Ramy” covers them with an infectious sense of humor and wit. (I also love and appreciate the #inclusion of a relatable character with #disabilities, as I myself have #ehlersdanlossyndrome).
.
All 10 episodes of #season2 will be released at once, for your #bingewatching pleasure!! I breezed through season 1 of this show, so definitely check it out if you haven’t seen it yet!!
.
As a side note, stay tuned to this channel for my quick-guide to the Hulu #departures for the month, which will be leaving the platform on 2/29. Happy #streaming!!

Little Women (1994/2019) Part 3 is now LIVE
We’ve reached the final part of our trilogy on Little Women, and the time has come to say good-bye to the March sisters and co… But not before we’ve thoroughly discussed these adaptations one last time!
So join us once more as we examine how the two films treat their male love-interests, how Gerwig reimagines the concept of the ‘family’, and as we question who, or what, we should be directing our criticisms towards when we critique these movies.
Can Little Women be a ‘story for every generation’? Or is this the wrong question?
