IT'S FINALLY HERE! THE TENGU AND THE ANGEL IS OUT NOW!
Hello, hello, hello, everyone, I have some very exciting news to share with you all! The Tengu And The Angel, my debut novel, is now finally available to buy! That's right, you can now get your very own copy of my fluffy, angsty, gay friends-to-lovers novel! Oh, but why would you want to, you might be asking? What's the book about! Great questions, my friends, and I'll answer them both for you right now!
The Tengu And The Angel is a friends-to-lovers romance about two roommates falling in love, and learning to let go of their pasts. Eighteen year old Kunio Yoshioka has just fled his abusive mother's home in Northampton, and he's journeying up north in search of a new home, and a fresh start in life. He's armed with nothing but his dreams of being a successful artist, and his vivid imagination. He thinks of his new adult self as a tengu; strong, proud, and capable of things his child self could only dream of. Twenty year old Nathaniel seems to have it all; he's gorgeous, he lives in a beautiful apartment in the centre of Newcastle, and he's the owner and founder of Black Rose, a Victorian gothic online boutique. Kunio thinks of him as angel; he's faultlessly polite and kind, and he goes above and beyond to help him when they first meet, even though he doesn't know him. He's also painfully insecure, and he lives under the thumb of his toxic 'best friend', Theo, who uses his mental illness to control him. When Nathaniel takes Kunio in, the two form a close friendship, which slowly blossoms into love. Can the two of them learn to put their pasts behind, and make their relationship work? Well, you're going to have to read it to find out! Get your copy from Rakuten Kobo, or from the Amazon Kindle Store below!

If a person with POTS or circulation issues was to be in Obey Me, I would be teleported and fully pass out in front of the Student Council.
Like the change in gravity and also I can’t imagine what teleportation into hell would be like when standing up and sitting down makes the world spin and my vision blur for me.

BOOK REVIEW: Six Of Crows - Leigh Bardugo
★★★★★ - 5 stars
"No Mourners, No Funerals"
Ketterdam is a bustling city: a city of crime, of gangsters, of gamblers. It's the city that birthed Kaz Brekker - a master of greed, a renowned criminal masterland, a seventeen year old boy. When Kaz is offered a job that could make him rich beyond his wildest dreams he knows he can't pull it off alone, so he finds five people each with their own reasons for joining him to help him with the greatest heist ever known. Yet, with the fate of the world in the hand's of the six of them, can they pull it off? Or will they kill each other first?
This book was so amazing, that I don't even know where to start. First, it needs to be said that I am obsessed with Leigh Bardugo's writing style, especially her descriptions of places. The similes were beautiful throughout the entire novel (it's safe to say that any English teacher would be in love with this book for that very reason). Alongside that it's a really quotable book - so many lines were perfectly tailored to their speaker, representing their personality or characterisation flawlessly.
Not only is the writing of Six Of Crows astoundingly gorgeous, but it is also an amazingly diverse novel, especially for the fantasy genre. I love how characters are part of the LGBTQ community, yet the book doesn't make a big deal out of it because it's just a part of the character, not a major plot point. Not only does it have LGBT representation, but the book as a whole is an interesting discussion of ableism. For example, it's rare to see a disabled character be a morally ambiguous character at the same time, yet in Six Of Crows Kaz Brekker is the king of being morally grey, and yet he is a cane-user.
Something I really loved about Six Of Crows was how Bardugo manages to create an emotional attachment to the characters, whilst also retaining a good flow of the plot. On that note, the plot was great, it really keeps you on edge with twists and turns constantly (especially in the Ice Court Heist segment). Generally speaking, people say that The Ice Court Plot is difficult to understand, but I think you need to go into it with an open mind and make sure that you are prepared for tracking plot twists (and as long as you've managed to keep up with the plot twists throughout the rest of the book, you should be fine).
In summary Six Of Crows is a great book, full of funny lines, intricate characters that undergo carefully woven journeys of development and great representation. In my personal opinion, Six Of Crows is the best fantasy book I've read since Veronica Roth's Divergent (which I read in 2018). It's definitely one that I'd recommend to anyone who loves or wants to get into the fantasy genre, so if that describes you, run to your nearest bookshop or library and grab a copy.

Also, slightly off topic of PS&S but I am soooooo excited to work on CT. I have ten chapters outlined, and they’ll all be around 1000 words or more, but like. Disabled main characters, man. Both of them bi, both of them willing to figure things out together.
Clear communication… enforced boundaries… having someone love and care about them, despite all of their insecurities.
Accessible homes, deep conversations, age gap romance… I love them all.

Starting Obey Me just makes me realize how much of a little shit I’d be.
“K I don’t care if I’m in Hell and got chosen or whatever tf. I have MEDICATIONS and DOCTORS APPTS.” “Y’all chose the worst human out there. I am so regretfully high maintenance.” “Dude just send me back. It won’t be too long until I’m back down here anyway.” “Do you guys have doctors who can treat chronic illnesses and good healthcare?”
No one takes me away from my meds. Not even willingly but I would be a puddle of pain and heart rate spikes in like 8hrs.

I think the Ninjago fandom SERIOUSLY needs to realize that we should not be singing Ninjago, and by extension, Lego's praises every time there's a bit of diversity seen.
Let's not forget, the basis of Ninjago is still completely an Orientalist view of ninjas and a bunch of Asian cultures lazily slapped together.
Let's not forget that every disabled character has been a villain (even if some of them joined the heroes later on that doesn't change much).
Let's not forget one of their disabled villains is literally named fucking Daddy No Legs (I know it's a joke about the daddy long legs spider but it's SO fucked up)...
Let's not forget that the ONLY canonically queer character is ambiguous. We don't know what she identifies with, we just know she's some flavor of queer.
Let's not forget this is the same franchise with the racist caricature that is Chen.
Let's not forget about the "magical islanders who sacrifice someone to their angry god so they don't die".
Sure, there COULD be a chance to finally change and improve but seeing as this show has been going on for 12 years, I highly doubt they're just gonna start doing better rep for anyone possible out of nowhere
#like ok kudos at least for having a black mc#and i WOULD say 'for having a disabled hero' but she obviously in the context of the show and writers is NOT disabled#ninjago#raine's rambles#gr. am annoyed tbh

Trailblazer has full body chronic pain from the Stellaron (as did Cocolia in specifically her head from the influence) so when one day they’re injured enough to pass out and is healed using futuristic tech (or the more realistic route that they’re given pain medication) they freak out once awake because everything feels very different in an almost too good way (maybe they feel too light, floaty, like dissociation, since they aren’t used to that lack of constant grounding) so they struggle to understand they aren’t like in a bad situation; WHICH means we can have others realize they have chronic pain (including them btw they didnt know they were in pain constantly cuz they legit Woke Up Like That) and like ya know everyone together having to figure out how they feel about it and what can be done to help, if anything

Now that people bringing up how condescending Jack can be i lowkey feel like he'd infantilize me as an autistic person. I mean not like i desire that or some kind of play i just think the man would genuinely be patronizing and would feel the need to emotionally pad things for me.
As someone who has trouble catching up on things or needing them specified i can't count how many times I've gotten "Don't worry about it" or "nevermind" instead of people just telling me. I can definitely see Jack doing that but with that added bit of sacchariness.
Or asking him "Hey why do you always feel the need to talk to me when I'm trying to talk to my friends?" And he gives me that "I just don't think they have your best interests in mind" like sir, you are my friend not my mother.
This isn't a vent btw it's kind of something adjacent to a character study. Just examining his character more in my head.
#tv or true character Jack is probably not like this since he's likely worked with disabilities on the show#but this is current or 'real' jack who is played by an actor and actively manipulates MC#as someone whos shy of being social i can see him restricting access to others more and more#sunny day jack#somethings wrong with sunny day jack#elf speaks
