me, skiing for the first time in over a decade, desperately trying to avoid being run over by ski school children or falling over the edge of a black diamond run: i have GOT to get better at identifying conifers

#chatter #had that moment where the world opens up before you and you're like ohhhh before these were just trees [generic]#but now they are trees [specific] and so MANY trees [specific] and i can see that they are different but i don't know what it all means #and the scales have fallen from your eyes and the world is suddenly so beautiful and so full of things #but unfortunately some of the things are ski school children who are bombing down the run at approximately 200 mph #directly under your nose because they are made of bouncy rubber and are immortal.#wishing them well-waxed fiberglass and fluffy powder and the swiftness of falcons #but also very frightening experience. for me personally #i flattened zero children today though just to be clear.
