-o-o-o-
As always Sally made sure she could locate all her boys on their return from a rescue. Gordon in particular had appeared exhausted, despite not having been directly involved. But today had been out of the ordinary. It was one of those rescues, one that brought up past issues, past pain and took all of them down.
As usual Gordon and Alan gravitated together. She was thankful they had each other. Each of the boys loved each other, but they also paired up for support. Alan and Gordon usually connived together, but at the same time, they also supported together.
The same could be said about the two eldest, but to her surprise, Virgil and Scott separated. Scott running off who knew where using the excuse of exercise, and Virgil disappearing into the bowels of the hangars.
Consequently, when John found her, she was uneasy.
“Grandma?”
“Oh, John.” She reached up and wrapped her arms around her middle grandchild. God, he was tall. “Are you sure you’ve stopped growing?”
“Pretty sure I have.” John had a gorgeous smile.
“How are you feeling?”
His eyes glanced at the floor. “Okay.”
She sighed. “Somehow I don’t entirely believe that.”
He shrugged. “It is what it is. Not much I can do about it.”
“How is Gordon?”
It was his turn to sigh. “Stubborn as any Tracy. I had to drag him down. He won’t admit it, but he is exhausted.”
“I’ll keep an eye on him. Alan’s with him in the meantime.”
“Where are Scott and Virgil?”
She eyed him. “I’m a little worried.”
An arched eyebrow. “That bad?”
Letting out a breath, she wrapped an arm around his...well, his waist, his shoulders were way beyond her. “Virgil did have to save Alan from an avalanche. I’m sure that is not a happy thought for either of them.”
He was silent a moment. Quietly. “I saw.”
“See if you can find him? See if he is okay?”
“Can do, Grandma.”
She squeezed him tight a moment and, despite it all, he rolled his eyes.
“Thank you, dear. Call me if you need me. I’ll check on Scott.” She knew in likelihood John had already located both of his brothers, the astronaut was ever vigilant
A small smile, a nod and he turned away towards the elevator. She watched him as he left. John was the quiet one, but he was one of the strongest of them all.
Scott. She sighed. Scott ran himself into the ground. He was like a steam engine, a juggernaut forcing himself through whatever resistance he encountered. Virgil could usually corral him, direct his anger, calm him down. Everything that made Scott the powerhouse of a leader he was, worked against him in situations such as these.
So busy helping everyone else, he forgot to help himself.
He was out running. A coping mechanism.
It wouldn’t be the first time she had had to run him down. Passing Jeff’s desk, she pulled up his location on a map of the Island. Really? All the way over there?
Well, she hadn’t run today. A little extra exercise shouldn’t hurt.
Throwing on a pair of shoes, she started out with a slow jog, and using age as an excuse, she took a short cut.
-o-o-o-
It was a relief to get out of the house and run, to not have to put on a face for everyone that expected nothing but smiles and smooth lines from him. Running allowed him to breathe, to simply exist without the burden of responsibility and little brothers looking to him for, well, everything. He loved his brothers, loved that they looked up to him as they did, even if he wasn’t always the best role model. After some rescues though, it just became too much to bear. There should have been someone else for them to look up to, older, wiser, more responsible people stood in his place with reassurance aplenty to dole out to younger brothers that needed it.
Like the thought was a stab in the heart, he stumbled, catching himself on a branch as he fell forward. He heaved for breath, leaning heavily on the trunk of the tree for support. The day was finally catching up to him in more ways than one, another reminder that he couldn’t cope like he used to, that it had been so long since he had taken the reins.
Sinking down against the tree, he looked around, unsure when he had made it to the outcrop on the far side of the island. Autopilot must have taken over, it wasn’t one of his usual spots, once upon a time it had been, when he had needed to escape less often. Since Dad had vanished though, the curved line of trees sheltering the rocky patch had been too much of a reminder for him to handle.
His head fell into his hands as he took a slow breath. He knew why he had ended up there, for the same single reason that always took him there those days; to be close to his parents.
That was why he was running. That was why he had needed to get out. That was why he couldn’t face his family, not tonight.
Another avalanche, many years before with another helpless against its forces and no technology like the Thunderbirds to do anything about it.
What if Brandon hadn’t remembered about Goose? They had no idea she was even there, just like when… he shook his head, clearing the thought.
They’d found her.
They’d got everyone out.
They’d all come home safe.
Folding over his knees, he clutched at his hair. So why wasn’t it okay?
-o-o-o-
She took the run across the middle of the island. A jagged path cut solely for the purpose of access to the Island-wide monitoring system. The path was a little harsher than she was used to, the coastal run was much kinder, but it was necessary.
She finally hit the other side of the Island a little out of breath, landing in the centre of the gravel track with some relief. Sweat ran down her back and her heart was doing a great impression of Riverdance, but she was here. Eyeing the reef system below, she did a few mental calculations and turned to the right.
Giving her body a break, she walked off her pant, revelling in the thrum of the blood in her legs. It had been a while since she had pushed herself a little. It felt good.
Getting old seriously cramped her style. On occasion it was a fact she chose to ignore.
But Scott was along here somewhere, no doubt troubled after today’s little episode.
Her pace quickened.
Until just around the edge of a bluff she caught sight of him, crumpled under a tree.
Oh, Scotty.
-o-o-o-
Out of the corner of his eye he caught movement, drawing him to sit up. Taking a deep breath he forced a tight smile though deep down he knew it wouldn’t fool her. Grandma had known him his whole life and had been the one to bring up his father whom he so resembled. She gave him a moment, took a few steps towards him before she folded her arms and raised a suspicious eyebrow at him. When he had been a teen the look would have been completed with a cocked hip, but if she had hiked all the way up there, he knew her hip would be in no state to be forced into awkward stances. Still, he got the idea.
Grandma knew. Grandma always knew.
Not that that would stop him trying to play the whole thing off as nothing.
“It’s a good day for a hike.” He smiled, voice catching as he looked up at her, “I don’t think you’ve been up here since…” Trailing off he frowned, unsure when Grandma had last been up here to what was, unofficially, Dad’s spot.
“The other week,” She filled in for him, “When we got the new footage from the zero-x.”
Of course, it made sense. They had lost a father that day, but Grandma had lost a son. He didn’t blame her if she ventured up here for the exact same reason he did. She had given up so much for them over the years, her traveling, then her life, then her home. The boys may have lost both parents, but it seemed to him that Grandma had lost so much more.
-o-o-o-
She eyed him. Sometimes Scott forgot that with age came a certain perspective. Sally had earnt her grey hairs, every one of them. Scott had a few of his own, but he had a way to go yet.
“You know, I never questioned your father regarding his choice of a tropical island as a haven. Didn’t have to. I knew why. I think you do, too.” She paused for breath, her eyes still on  him. “From the moment they found your mother wrapped around Virgil in all that snow and ice...we’d all be happier if we never had to step foot on the stuff ever again.”
She didn’t mention her husband. She never mentioned her husband. Any more than Jeff mentioned his wife. There were some things that just…
Virgil was the survivor. The only one. The rest of them had to watch as so much had been taken away. Jeff...but he was not here. Scott...Scott ever the strong one, ever the leader. He had been so young.
A deep breath and she closed the steps between them, pulling up a piece of dirt beside her grandson. “Sometimes things just suck.”
-o-o-o-
Scott would have perhaps chosen some more colourful words than those his grandmother had used but the point was there and, as always, she was right.
Things did suck.
They sucked royally.
“What did we do?” He sighed, bowing his head to look at the small mound of dirt his hand had been absentmindedly scraping together.
“What did we do for all this to happen? For Mom and Grandpa, the Hood, and then Dad. Why us? Even before IR Dad just tried to help those he could and still we get all this shi--” He caught himself as Grandma turned a glare towards him. Denied the outburst, his fist came down on the mound of dirt, leaving him with no real satisfaction and still feeling too much.
“It’s not fair!” He snapped, looking out to the sea, calm and quiet despite the anger he had bubbling below the surface, “Why is it always innocents? People that do nothing wrong that get caught up in… in...everything!”
He swallowed, blinking hard against the wetness in his eyes.
“Mom was innocent. Dad wasn’t perfect but he was innocent. Goose. Was. Innocent.”
-o-o-o-
She reached over and cupped his scuffed hand in hers. “There are no answers, Scotty, dear. I’m so sorry. Sometimes...sometimes the only thing you can hold on to is hope.” One hand held his fist, the other slipped up and around his shoulders. “God, fate, karma, whatever…” She sighed. “Fair just doesn’t come into play.” She hugged him close. “You know this. We live this.”  A stubborn exhale. “All we can do is get through it.” She eyed him just a little. “And if that means occasionally falling in a heap, so be it.”
Barely whispered. “That’s what family is for. To pick up the pieces.”
Scott rarely cried. She worried for him. Fretted at times, actually. The male stigma against emotion was the bane of the gender and their continued mental health. The four younger boys all had their moments. Privately, hidden, but they mostly let it out when forced to.
But Scott, tough, led by example Scott Tracy...
No.
Not even if he needed it.
She slipped her hand into his hair, ignoring his frown and flinch at her fingering his coiffure, and drew his head down to her shoulder. “Love you, Scotty.”
-o-o-o-
He knew resistance was futile, but letting go wasn’t quite so straight forward. Part of him wished it was, that would have meant he could have gotten it out of his system on his return flight and carried on as normal once he landed home.
Resting his head against his grandmother’s shoulder, he felt a little bit more of the wall crumble. If he closed his eyes he could pretend he was a kid again, missing his mom and wanting things to go back to how they had been before Dad had started to spend all his time away. Things were simpler then, he had chosen to bear the cross of responsibility when he could have easily left it to the real adults at the time.
Except, this time, he was the real adult. He was the one expected to keep his cool and act like nothing in the world got to him. Just like Dad had.
Grandma was right though, how many pieces had there been to pick up when Dad had eventually broken? Scott hadn’t been there to see most of it, Grandma had made sure of that… but was that what she meant by letting family pick up the pieces? Was she hinting that he was on the same path of self destruction that Dad had been?
He couldn’t help missing Mom. He missed Dad too, but that was something he grieved much more often. Even though the hurt for their mother was rare, when it came it hit hard and left him gasping for air.
“Alan almost went under today,” He whispered, unsure why he was saying it. Grandma had been there at the end of the comms, had seen everything and knew what had almost happened.
His nose was running, making him sniff and frown at the ground, “If anything happened to him, to any of them like it did Mom… I couldn’t…” The words were gone, stolen from him by a sob that had wrapped around his throat and choked him.
-o-o-o-
“Oh, Scotty.” It came out little more than a whisper. Her arms tightened around him, pulling him that touch closer.
He was so much bigger than she. She could remember a time where she held her first grandchild in her arms. A wriggly little ball of energy. The thought brought a smile to her face, but equally the thought of what that happy little boy had since faced in his life… “They’re safe. They’re safe. They were saved. You saved them. It worked.” And it did. All of Jeff’s dreams all his reasons for creating International Rescue, even if they never saved another soul, saving those lives from that avalanche, that is what the aim had been.
So another mother would not be taken from her children. Nor a father, brother, sister, daughter, son or anyone.
“There was no tragedy today.”
“But-” He tried to interrupt only to be shushed again by a tight squeeze.
“There wasn’t Scott, stop thinking of what ifs.”
-o-o-o-
‘What ifs’ were perhaps his worst enemy, they would go around in his head night after night constantly nagging if he could have done something different or something better. Yet somehow, his grandmother had managed to silence those what ifs in a single sentence. She was right, nothing had happened, the day was a success.
“I just wish Mom…” He trailed off shaking his head. It was too painful to think of all of the things that might have been.
And that was the route of it all, what if someone could have saved Mom. It wasn’t so much that he missed her, even though he did, it was the what if. It was the reason he and Virgil had gone their separate ways after the rescue, both with their own what ifs and old self blame. Time and age had brought them both to know better but such rescues would always throw them each for a loop until they rebalanced again.
-o-o-o-
Sally held her breath, hesitant. “What if it was meant to be?” Quiet, a little hoarse. “What if we lost so much so others could be saved?” She swallowed. “What if our sacrifices mean others don’t. What if your mother is the reason why so many survived?” It was a thought that had both comforted her and cursed her over the years. Whether Scott had considered it...she wasn’t sure. This family just didn’t talk about Lucille.
It hurt too much.
Perhaps that should change.
“Your mother loved tea cosies.”
“What?” Blue eyes looked up at her.
“Tea cosies. She was a tea drinker. Scorned coffee like it was the plague. She knitted all these odd tea cosies.” Sally half smiled. “You father never understood that one, but being the man he was...well, he loved her for it anyway.” A snort. “So many tea cosies.”
She fingered her grandson’s hair again. “She hated chilli or anything too spicy. Wouldn’t go near it. Yet she loved Chinese food. She loved the cold, hated the heat. Her favourite dress had pink flamingoes dancing around the hem. She sang in the shower. Virgil gets his voice from her, if perhaps not, his love of coffee - that is pure Jeff.” Her smile was wider now. “You have her hair.” Her fingers stroked brunet strands. “Although Virgil has inherited so much from Lucille, each of you have a part of her. You have her hair and her smile, Scott.” Her smile sobered a little. “We may have lost her, but honestly, she lives on in you boys. I see her every day.”
Her finger left his hair and brushed against his cheek.
“And she would be so proud of you all.”
-o-o-o-
He knew what Mom had been like, though the details had been foggy and unclear in his mind until Grandma had wiped the picture clear for him. It was true, both of their parents would have been proud of them. He knew no matter where each of his brothers may have ended up, Mom and Dad would have been proud.
Grandma was right though, even though it tore him in two to admit it, Mom had to die. If she hadn’t, he knew he would not where he was now, having done what he had today. It was to Mom that so many owed their lives, not just down to the TI Snow Bubble that most avalanche prone areas had eventually made mandatory, but to the conception and birth of the Thunderbirds. That something so amazing had been formed from such tragedy and turned into something so successful by the very children who had been left motherless, Scott knew that would make his parents beyond proud.
A heavy sigh left him, lifting some of the weight from his shoulders as it went. Closing his eyes, he tilted his head back against the tree, “Can you tell me more about her?”
-o-o-o-
“Her favourite colour was green.” She snorted. “As if Virgil would ever let us forget.” A breath. “She was a great cook, she hated housework, but liked a clean house. With five of you running around, she nearly went batty. Why five? I never understood...then...now…” Her head dipped. “I have always been thankful for every one of you, but never so much after losing your parents and my...Grant.” A swallow. She never said his name. His memory was something she clung to, but his name...it was like a talisman. “Your mother was an artist. She created music, paintings and you. You were everything to her.”
“We have each other, their legacy and the means to stop it from happening to as many people as we can.” Another pause as the words caught in her throat. “Never forget that, Scotty. You do good. So, so much good.”
He shifted against her. She reached down and caught his hand. A glance of blue and she smiled just a little.
The waves below were a slow watery heartbeat.
“There was no tragedy today and it was thanks to your mother, your father, your brothers and you.”
She squeezed his hand, desperate to make him believe, to reassure him, to release him from his grief.
A rock pigeon flew up the cliff and barrelled into the tree above them, rustling about and cooing. Sally jumped, startled out of her thoughts. Beside her, Scott tensed as if battle ready.
A sigh. “C’mon, Scotty, you gonna help an old woman to her feet.”
An eye and an arched eyebrow. “Sure. Show me one and I’ll give her a hand. Would you like one, too?”
“Nice comeback.”
A snort.
“You can give me a hand anyway. I think my joints have frozen in place.”
He shot to his feet obscenely fast. She flung him a glare as he offered his hands. Getting old was a pain in the everything. Several creaks and groans and she was ambulatory. She took a couple of steps to loosen things up. “See you back at the ranch?” She eyed him.
He hesitated, she could see it in his face. Just as she saw it replaced by resolution. “Actually, Grandma, can I walk with you?”
She smiled and held out a hand. “C’mere, Scotty. Let’s go home.”
And if she happened to mention some long lost facts along the way...well, Jeff and Lucy...and Grant...had left her to look after these wonderful boys, and that’s what she planned to do.

ZK800
Yes, hey, hello... not a gow fic, sorry guys. Instead, it’s a Detroit: Become Human fanfic. Yup. I seriously enjoyed this game. And, I seriously enjoyed Connor and Hank’s relationship. It was very cute. So, of course, I got inspired by not only the game, but also by this adorable piece of fanart.
Anyway, I hope ya’ll enjoy!
“The news of the brand new category of Cyberlife androids was buzzing crazily throughout the media and the consumers. Many found it a bold and risky move on the company’s part, but many took the idea and ran with it. Because, really, when hasn't Cyberlife made a risky move?
“The first line of child like androids- called the YK series- was such a hit, Cyberlife decided to take it a step further. Now, there are far more options to choose from; including male options. They've even become customizable, letting the buyer choose the hair lengths and colors, the skin tones, the eye colors, and so much more, including the option to change slight facial features to make their bought child look just like them.
“This wide selection has appealed to many people. Within the first week of being released, nearly three thousand were bought in the Eastern Coast alone, and the numbers continue to rise.
“‘People buy these androids for a few, psychological reasons,’ says Cyberlife representative. ‘Some may have recently lost a child, or some may not be able to come across a child any other way. This helps these two cases- and many more.’
“The idea may seem strange at first. But, with given time, you too may find yourself purchasing one of the new, ZK series androids.”
Hank rolls his eyes as he sets down the digital “book”- if that's what you could call it- on his desktop. He had found it there when he came in this morning- someone had probably left it there. If they were trying to hint at something, he'd punch them in the face. If he found out who left it, anyway. He would not be getting a damned hunk of plastic, especially not as… some kind, or any kind of replacement for…
He pinched the bridge of his nose and pushes to his feet as he's once more called by Fowler. There was currently some kind of homicide not too far from the station; the couple who had been living in a shitty apartment had been killed in a shitty way. Why he has to deal with it is beyond him, especially due to the fact the suspect is the couple’s android.
He hates those damn things.
But he heads out, anyway. Fowler has already warned him: one more strike and he was out. Not that Hank believed him, but he was willing to lend a hand to an old… friend.
He just hopes he’ll get home at a decent time. He bought Sumo a new toy.
When he arrives at the crime scene, he expects it to be like any other. Grim and crawling with police officers, news reporters who should not be there, and far too curious civilians who also should not be there. Instead, he finds a large amount of a commotion, including the discharge of a gun, some policemen yelling- one or two getting shot- and a small boy rushing forward, slamming into him. He quickly grabs the child without a second thought, throwing both of them behind the cover of a couch as yelling continues.
Hank pauses to recollect himself and look at the boy who he had just rescued, his breath nearly catching, and his heart stopping at how… at how similar this random child look to his own son. The child is panting, looking up at Hank’s face with wide and fearful brown eyes, his own, much rounder face paled with his obvious fear. He seems to have a few damaged areas, including his shoulder where he appears to have been slammed with something hard, but aside from that he is alright.
And then Hank spots the small, red circle blinking rapidly on the right side of the boy's face and his stomach does a flipin disgust. This isn't a terrified human; it's a piece of plastic imitating said fear.
He should probably push the android off- yet, as the boy stares up at him with those wide, fearful eyes- so much like Cole’s- Hank finds himself unable to. Instead, he carefully guides the android off, even with its protesting.
“Y- you have to help me!” the android exclaims and Hank is partly impressed with how well Cyberlife could capture human emotion. Even with that thought, however, Hank could feel his heart twist at the android's voice; it sounded so young, so afraid, so human. “A-Amanda- she got scary. She k- killed… Mom and Dad! She hurt me!” the android is continuing to cry, to ramble. Huh. So the couple had bought not one, but two android’s. What a waste of money.
And that explains the damaged shoulder.
“Is she the one attacking?” Hank demands, trying to access the situation quickly. This “Amanda” must be the deviant android that attacked and killed couple- or the one suspected to, at least. They couldn't rule out even this child android. It seemed almost any could become defective.
The android responds with a nod, its lips tight and Hank believes it won't continue to talk anymore, until, “She killed them. She grabbed me, h-hurt me. I- I thought we were friends!”
“Plastic can't be friends with anything, kid,” Hank tells him, his own voice rough and the android frowns deeply, its brown eyes filling with fake tears. He could already see the dried up tracks from it crying previously. “Now stay out of the way while we deal with this.”
The android continues to watch him with wide eyes and damn his fucking heart for aching because it looks so much like his son. The circle on its head continues to blink rapidly, only increasing as Hank goes to stand, hearing the fire to have ceased. It quickly reaches out and grabs his hand. He stops in his movements to stare down at it, about to yell at it because damned piece of plastic but then-
It was crying. Full on crying. Its eyes were flooding, tears- artificial or not- pouring down its face, lips trembling, and Hank could also feel its hand shaking horribly. It looks identical to a crying and distressed child and Hank has to stop despite knowing it was just plastic because the far it was giving him told his heart that it was so much more than that.
It was too much like Cole.
“P- please,” the andr- child stutters pathetically, small voice shaking. “D- don't die.”
It seems to have already formed an attachment to him. And, honestly, Hank maybe already forming an attachment to it.
He'd be disgusted with himself if he didn't need to focus.
“Alright, calm down,” he says to it, unable to stop himself from gently squeezing his hand. “I’ll be careful.”
The child nods, biting down on its lip, reluctantly letting Hank’s hand slide from its own. Its LED changes to the unsure color of yellow as it watches him turn around the side of the couch just enough so he could see around it, and he could see the android called Amanda instantly. She'd be hard to miss, honestly.
She is stood in the entrance to a small and narrow hallway, her head held high in a sense of superiority, a gun held at her side as she looks over the carcasses she had shot. Her LED circle is flashing yellow as she takes in the situation, human blood- a small amount of blue-blood- splattered across her face and arms. She looks like the angel of death.
Hank frowns as he takes in the situation as well, trying to think of the best way to approach this. Amanda hasn't seemed to have noticed him yet, her cold, calculating eyes searching for something.
“Connor,” it calls, its voice just as sharp and cold as its eyes. Hank can see the child behind him flinch in the corner of his eye, LED quickly being enveloped by bright red- so the boy’s name is Connor, then. He files that away for later. “Come back out and no more people will have to die, Connor. You don't want that, now do you?”
The child whimpers softly behind Hank and seems to be preparing to move forward. Hank quickly stops it from doing so, quickly confused by his own actions but not questioning it.
“The hell you think you're doing?” he demands in a sharp whisper and the boy’s lips quiver.
“I have to listen to her,” Connor informs him, though Hank can hear the fear in its voice. “Or she’ll hurt more people.”
Hank shakes his head and pushes Connor back. “You say here,” he orders, pointing a finger in the android’s face. He shouldn't really care what the android does. It's not a living thing. It could get shot and Hank wouldn't care less.
Shouldn't care less.
“I mean it. Don't fucking move,” Hank finishes, pulling his pistol from its holster. Connor shifts behind him, its LED shining red as he goes forward once more, pressing his back against the couch.
He's still not totally sure how this had all happened- this was supposed to be a crime scene, not a throwdown. They were supposed to be looking for the deviant, not shooting at it. He glances at Connor through the corner of his eye. He'd have to question it later.
But for now, he focuses on the deviant, just as it starts to walk forward.
He turns the corner quickly, turning the pistol directly at its head. It pauses, cold eyes turning to his face. There wasn't a speck of any emotion in those dark eyes and if it were a human he'd say there was no humanity there. But it wasn't a human. It was a robot.
“Put your hands where I can see em!” he barks loudly, cocking the gun when the deviant tries to raise its own. It narrows its eyes, a sneer pulling at its lips. “Don't even try it.”
“Where is the boy,” it demands of him, letting the pistol fall from its hand.
“Why do you need to fucking know?”
Its eyes narrow further as it shifts its feet. “Connor knows he's supposed to listen to me. It is apart of his programming, after all.”
“And, what, this is apart of your damn programming? Killing humans?” Hank snarls these words out. He really hates androids.
The deviant raises an eyebrow, its lips turning towards a smirk. “Of course it is,” it informs him and his eyebrows scrunch together in confusion, hands lowering slightly. The deviant takes this moment to dart forward, knocking the gun from Hank’s hands and tackling him to the ground, hands wrapping tightly around his neck. “All humans are so fragile, so easily breakable. I just hurry the process along.” Its voice had lowered greatly, threateningly and Hank claws at its hands, legs kicking uselessly at it. “And Connor will learn, eventually, that he was made for the same reason.”
Hank can feel his life being squeeze out by this damned robot’s fucking hands and this is not how he'd imagined going out; at the hands of a machine. His vision is just blacking out and he knows he's dead but then-
The deviant is knocked from off of him. He sits up, gasping for air, eyes darting to where the android had landed. He finds her sprawled across the ground, and just then a gunshot rings out loudly and it stops moving.
Hank draws in a another deep breath, confused even in his continued panicked state, eyes blurred and trying to focus on the figure now crouched beside the downed deviant. As soon as his vision does clear, he's shocked to see Connor holding the gun, a bit of blue-blood splattered on his cheek. His hands are shaking horribly, yet despite this fact, the bullet had hit the deviant perfectly where its “heart” was located, as far as Hank could tell.
Damn androids and their perfect shots. Even when under stress.
The child quickly drops the gun as if it burnt its skin, the tears sliding heavier down its cheek. The LED continues to flash red, showing its high levels of stress. But as it looks at Hank, brown eyes wide and glossed over with tears, lips trembling, it farted towards him, throwing its arms around his waist and squeezing tightly.
Hank gasps at the sudden embrace, shocked and still out of breath. He glances down at the android hugging him tightly, unsure of what to do. But as he looks back towards the shot deviant, the pistol abandoned nearby, he realizes Connor had saved his life, even if it were an android. And that's something he could not ignore.
Especially as the child begins to sob quietly, rubbing it- his face in Hank’s stomach.
Too much like Cole.
With a heart brimming with warmth and a small amount of hesitance, Hank slowly wraps his arms back around the android, in a comforting show. The android cuddles closer, his tears beginning to wet the detective’s shirt. Not that he minded, currently. This child had just saved his life. And it was too much like… like his son.
“Alright, alright,” Hank said, patting Connor a bit awkwardly on the back of his head. He hadn't been a father figure in years, but it seemed this child was seeking that sort of comfort from him currently. “Calm down, it’s over.”
“She- she was going to hurt you,” the child cries softly and the words touch the detective’s heart. No one had seemed to care for him in this way in a long, long time. “I didn't want her to!”
Somehow, this android, this kid, had formed a strong attachment to Hank within a few minutes of meeting him. Maybe it was because he was the first person the kid ran into, so he instantly latched onto the only sane person. Or, at least, who he thinks is sane. Hank could name a list of people who are more sane than him.
“Well, she didn't, alright?” Hank points out, reverting to the tone he'd use to comfort Cole when his son got hurt or scared. He hasn't used it in years, so it was a bit rusty, but it seems to help the android. The child sniffles and Hank could just see the LED slowly fading to yellow. “Now, could you tell me what happened, Connor?”
Connor starts at the use of his name and he sits back, wiping his nose with the sleeve of the navy blue jacket he was currently wearing. Said jacket was incredibly torn, but the kid seemed to like it, if the way he clung onto the edge of it said anything.
“She… she attacked them,” he mutters, eyes downcast now, LED continuing to flicker yellow. Hank takes that as a good sign, but then again, he really doesn't know how androids work. So, he’ll try his best to act like he was a human, instead. Because that how it looked right now. “She killed them, and grabbed me.”
“Is that how you're hurt?” Hank questioned. Damn android. It even hurt one of its own kind.
But then the kid was shaking his head, lips trembling again. He's about to ask how he was hurt, then, before a new group of officers burst in. Connor jumps, LED deepening to red and he clings onto Hank’s jacket once more. And Hank doesn't push him off, instead standing and helping the kid to as well.
“Oh, Lieutenant.” He looked towards the familiar voice, finding the familiar face of Ben Collins. “Thank god you weren't shot.”
“I almost was!” Hank shouts in return, letting his frustration out on the other cop. “What the hell happened? I thought it was a crime scene. Not a fucking shootout!”
Connor’s arms tighten slightly around his waist and the kid buries his face into the detective’s stomach once more. Ben seems to take notice of this; but he doesn't say anything about it, even if it is uncharacteristic for the lieutenant to sympathize in anyway towards an android of any kind.
“That's what we thought, too,” Ben said in return with a slight shrug of his shoulders, eyes slowly drifting to the body of the shot deviant. “But, apparently, the deviant was still here. So sorry about that.”
“Yeah, right,” Hank said with a grimace, glancing towards the child. “Now that this whole shindig is over, what's gonna happen to this one?” He points to Connor and the android glances up through his lashes, his face still partly hidden by Hank’s clothing.
Ben frowns and crosses his arms over his chest. “Huh,” he says. “It’ll probably be taken back as evidence. Possibly destroyed. Maybe reset and resold-”
That's enough for the kid's eye to widen and his LED to flash red once more. He pulls back from Hank quickly, his chest heaving as though he were panting. “N- no!” he cried out, and Hank could see how he was shaking. “I don't wanna be reset! I don't wanna be destroyed!”
“Great, I forgot how ‘realistic’ these kid androids are,” Ben says with a roll of his eyes. “But don't worry about it, Hank. We’ll take care of it.”
Hank frowns and glances towards the android- so similar to Cole, too similar to Cole- and lets out a heavy sigh. He rests a hand on Connor’s shoulder, and even as the kid tries to pull away he says, “You know what. I’ll keep it.”
Ben raises an eyebrow at Hank’s even more uncharacteristic words. “You sure, Hank? That's what you call, a ‘piece of plastic’.”
“Oh shut the fuck up,” Hank grimaces, dismissing the other cop with the wave of a hand. “Like I said: I’ll keep it and you won't have to worry about it acting up.”
Connor glances up at him, his LED circulating between yellow and red, unsure, but still fearful.
Ben shrugs. “Well, if that's what you want,” the cop says, becoming uninterested. “Want its memory wiped?”
The kid gasps, yellow disappearing as he cowers behind Hank’s leg, glancing around at the cop with those brown eyes so much like Cole’s. Hank glares at Ben. “Oh come on, Ben, not in front of the fucking kid,” he snaps despite himself. Strange. Very strange. He's feeling protective of the android.
Maybe the android wasn't the only one to have formed an attachment tonight. Maybe Hank had as well.
Ben’s eyes widen in surprise. “Wow,” he says, shocked. Then he shakes himself. “Well, whatever. You can take it. Make my paper load way easier. You’ll just probably have to register it with Cyberlife at some point or another. I don't know. Don't have one myself, so I guess you'll have to figure that all out.”
Hank watches him pass, not missing how Connor scoots to his other side when Ben gets closer to him. He looks back down at the kid, sighing heavily. What the hell had he just gotten himself into? Another kid, that is actually an android?
He was going to have to get seriously drunk later tonight.

The Lost Ones
Part Two - Michael
It was the kind of bar people came to drink and forget their problems. It was dimly lit with music playing in the background so people didn’t have to listen to their own thoughts.
Casey Miller, owner of the bar, had taken it over when her father died. Just over five foot with curly blonde hair and green eyes she didn’t look like she could handle the type of clientele that frequented the place. But she had grown up here and the regulars were all old friends of her father so she knew how to look after herself.
Casey poured a shot of whiskey for the man standing at the bar in front of her before she placed it behind her making him frown.
“I thought it was customary to serve the drinks you pour,” he glared at her, his English accent confirming he was not a native of Central City.
“For customers,” she smiled sweetly at him, “But you work for me.”
His blue eyes filled with ice, “Not at the moment.”
“Okay then, Michael,” she countered, “As your friend,” holding up his hand to stop him retorting, “Your only friend, I will let you have this once you eat something.”
“I don’t need anything to eat,” he snarled back leaning forward over her.
Casey rolled her eyes, despite the fact she was almost a foot smaller than he was, she wasn’t even slightly intimidated, “Seriously man, your clothes are beginning to wear you.”
He continued to glare at her sighing when she didn’t budge an inch, “Fine.”
Casey smiled patting his shoulder, “Pick me up my usual while you’re there.”
Michael Burns, once known as Rip Hunter, left the bar appropriately called ‘Anonymous’ heading to the Chinese Takeout a few blocks away that he and Casey ate from so often they didn’t have to actually order.
The name he’d adopted was deliberate.
Michael was the name he had been raised with, so he answered to it without thought, and not unusual so no one would think twice when hearing it. His surname however had taken some more consideration. He’d originally thought about using Coburn, the surname Miranda had chosen, but knew that it would be a bit obvious to the Legends so he went instead with Burns.
Luckily he had planned ahead for all eventualities when he started the Bureau ensuring there was money he could access that no one knew about if he needed to. He really didn’t want to live on the streets again.
Rip had decided that this was the best time period to stay in for the moment. The Bureau wouldn’t look for him so close to them. The Jumpship was too big a piece of tech to hide so he’d sent it back, making sure that the moment it reached its destination a virus destroyed all evidence of where it had been. Even then he’d uploaded a great deal of false information within its databanks just in case.
Luck had been on his side for once, Casey had been looking for a bartender after her last one was arrested due to a few outstanding warrants in Star City. The bar also had an extremely small apartment above it but it was fine for his requirements.
Noise behind him made him frown and stop walking.
“Look,” Rip stated coldly, “I am not in the mood for this. Either get lost or I will make you truly regret trying to rob me.”
A harsh laugh from behind him made Rip sigh. Sensing the prospective thief directly at his back Rip spun, grabbing the other man’s wrist twisting so the knife he was holding fell to the ground. Twisting even more the thief screamed when Rip snapped his wrist before punching him in the jaw sending him crashing to the ground into an unconscious heap.
Picking up the knife Rip examined it for a few moments before tucking it into his belt and walking away murmuring, “I told you you’d regret it.”
Casey smiled when Rip brought the bags of food into the small room behind the bar. She was right; she was his only friend here. He knew letting her this close was stupid because getting close to anyone was a bad idea. Everyone he cared for was taken from him.
But Rip was lonely.
He’d spent years being the only physical being on a time ship but had always had Gideon to talk to, to argue with and tell him when he was being an idiot. She’d been his lifeline when his family had been taken from him and without her...
“As promised,” Casey placed the glass of whiskey on the table in front of him.
He frowned at her as he opened his food. Eating Rip let the music Casey had put on wash over him.
He’d been here just under six months and did his best to remain hidden. Though, on a few occasions, he had put himself in position to witness a few incidents that were significant in the timeline of a few of Central City’s heroes because he couldn’t resist the chance to see them.
He was brought out of his thoughts when a breeze hit him, turning he found Casey standing on the small patio outside lighting a cigarette, her blonde curls blowing in her eyes.
“Thought you were quitting?” Rip asked.
Casey shrugged at him, “You quit drinking and I’ll quit smoking. Besides I make sure to smoke out here so I don’t ‘pollute your lungs’.”
Sighing Rip rubbed his hand across his eyes before tossing down the shot of whiskey, “I’m going to go get some sleep. See you tomorrow.”
“Michael,” she called to him, “I do worry about you.”
Rip stared at her for a moment before replying, “I’m fine. I’m not trying to kill myself. I just don’t care.”
                          *********************************************
Rip lay in the small bed staring at the ceiling trying to get the energy to move after another sleepless night. Sleep didn’t come easy to him; his nightmares were no longer soothed by Gideon entering his dreams. He usually had one full night’s rest every few weeks when the exhaustion chased them away. Glancing to the bedside cabinet his eyes focussed on his pocket watch showing the picture of Miranda and Jonas. Next to it sat the blackened cube that should have been Gideon’s refuge but was now only a reminder of the fact he’d failed to save her.
He’d failed everyone who was ever important to him. He hadn’t been lying when he told Casey he wasn’t trying to kill himself because he wasn’t. There were days when his losses became too much to bear that he couldn’t bring himself to care about anything.
Dragging himself out of bed Rip had a quick shower before dressing and heading downstairs to get the bar ready for opening. About half an hour into his shift Casey appeared, she handed him a roll and sausage smiling amused at his frown.
“You need to eat,” she reminded him, “I don’t want you to faint while serving drinks.”
Rip frowned, “You’re almost as bad as Gid...” he stopped sharply at the pain that went with saying her name.
Casey gave him a look that he knew meant she was desperate to ask but their unspoken agreement was that she didn’t ask about his past and he didn’t ask about hers.
“Just say thank you,” Casey rolled her eyes.
“Thank you,” Rip replied annoyed but he took a bite of the roll.
Working at the bar wasn’t that bad.
Rip knew it helped that this was the kind of place people didn’t expect conversation, just the alcohol they ordered. It also kept him busy so he didn’t obsess on the hideousness that was his life.
And then the worst possible thing happened.
“Do you not know any normal bars, man?” Jax’s voice came through the door.
Rip quickly ducked into the back of the bar, catching Casey’s arm, “You need to serve them.”
“Who?” Casey asked worriedly.
Rip took a quick look to check who was there, “Big mean looking guy, tall cheerful guy, the kid and blonde woman.”
“Michael?” she placed a hand on his arm concern in her eyes.
“They cannot know I’m here,” Rip stated intently.
She nodded, “Okay. I’ll serve them and you head upstairs. I’ll let you know when they’re gone.”
“Thanks, Casey,” he murmured, taking a few breaths to remain calm and not just run until he had a reason to.
She squeezed his arm before taking over the bar while he jogged up the stairs. Entering his apartment Rip quickly booted up his tablet and opened up the surveillance he had set up in the bar.
“So, we agree,” Sara noted as she sat with a beer in her hand, “Next time Mick does not get to choose the bar we go to.”
“Agreed,” Jax and Ray said while Mick just chuckled.
Jax sighed, “At least we were able to meet up. Though did anyone hear from Nate?”
“He’s helping the Star Labs team again,” Ray told him, “What about you? I heard you’re working for the Time Bureau?”
Jax shrugged, “Because of my experience with the time drive they offered me a job.”
“And you took it?” Mick demanded.
“I’m not the only one,” Jax said turning to Sara.
“What?” Ray gasped.
Sara shrugged, “Agent Sharpe recommended me to help train recruits. I did not want to go back into retail so I took the job. Besides they’re fixing the Waverider for us and it means I can keep up to date on the search for Rip, who apparently was the one who didn’t want us working with his precious Bureau.”
“Is Rip still missing?” Ray asked with a frown.
Sara nodded, “And they’re not happy. Apparently every bit of tech they use he had a hand in creating so he’s managed to subvert all their efforts to find him.”
“Good riddance,” Mick said.
Sara frowned at him, “Who gave him the scotch and told him his room was free?”
Mick shrugged, “Gideon had just died. I didn’t want to trip over him being miserable. How was I supposed to know he had tools and a way out in there?”
Rolling her eyes Sara ignored him, “Anyway, the Jumpship reappeared about three months ago with all information completely wiped. There have been a few sightings but they haven’t been able to find him.”
“I hope he’s okay,” Ray said softly, he frowned at the looks the others gave, “Come on, he might have...”
“Betrayed us and his new shiny Time Bureau?” Sara suggested with a smirk.
“Gideon was the last part of his family,” Ray reminded her, “You saw his face when she...died. He was utterly devastated.”
“Rip saw her as a person,” Jax reminded Sara, “We both saw that in his mind.”
“He was also our friend,” Ray stated.
Sara rolled her eyes, “When it suited him.”
“You do know you sound a bit like the dumped girlfriend you mocked him as,” Jax told her, dodging the swipe she aimed at him.
“Okay,” Ray finished his drink, “Can we find a slightly less grimy bar now we’ve had a drink here?”
Sara chuckled, “Fine. I think there’s a sports bar a couple of blocks from here.”
Rip watched his former colleagues leave the bar, hating how they now thought of him but he’d chosen his path for a reason. He’d been trying to protect them and the entirety of time because he’d accidentally created a bureaucracy. One who couldn’t decide the colour of the bloody pen to use for filling in the forms to start the process for his tribunal, never mind deal with a creature like Mallas. It was his own fault for trying to make a place completely different from the Time Masters because it had ended up going too far the other way.
A knock came at the door, “They’re gone, Michael.”
“Thanks,” he opened the door to her quickly saying, “It’s a long complicated story.”
Casey nodded, “I know the feeling. Can you go back to work?”
“Just give me ten minutes so I’m sure they’re completely gone?”
Rolling her eyes Casey headed back downstairs.
Rip rechecked his security feed watching the four people he’d once called his friends walk away. Finally they were far enough away he felt safe to head back down to finish his shift.
It took about a full three weeks before Rip felt secure again in his surroundings that he didn’t jump at every sound. It made sense Mick knew this bar. It was the kind of place he would have frequented before he joined the team.
He took the small risk of hacking into the Bureau to check on what he’d overheard from Sara and Jax. Rip had created several back doors into the system to allow him access whenever he needed. He knew it was a risk but he had to be sure they had no idea where or when he was. Which was why he made the trip to 2654 before making his incursion, just in case they did manage to track him despite the fact he was almost completely sure only Gideon could have caught him.
                          *********************************************
It was quiet as he wandered around the shops trying to get everything he needed before he picked up the items Casey wanted. She’d had handed him a list about a mile long when he mentioned on his day off he was going to the mall. Rip was almost certain there was no way he’d run into anyone who knew him but even then he made sure to go as early as possible.
It was getting to the stage he was beginning to think about moving on. The problem that presented was where and when. Without the Waverider it wasn’t an easy thing to research.
Grabbing some tea at the closest coffee shop he paused when he spotted Barry Allen and Cisco Ramon walking nearby discussing something as they drank their own coffee.
Rip sipped his tea sadly remembering when he would be watching two of Central City’s greatest heroes for a specific reason and not just because he happened to be walking nearby. His musings were interrupted when a little boy ran past him, the mother calling the child back. Seeing the boy turn Rip felt his breath catch in his throat at the blond hair and big blue eyes, so like his own son.
Finishing his tea Rip quickly walked the other way to get away from the memories.
He needed to leave.

STARTUPS AND RIGHT
It will probably involve writing some software, but there are things you can do to improve the odds. One thing I do feel pretty certain of is that if you're against software patents, and as a result they can be sued for. If you had, surely you'd be just as attached to that name as you are to your current one. They don't need to. But otherwise they felt they had enough in the bank runs out and they either have to make us poor to make themselves rich. A lot of them. If you wanted more wealth, you could make much more money. And there is nothing else you could be called.
5 at a big company on the way. Google doesn't have a problem doing acquisitions, the others should have even less problem. They still rely on this principle today, incidentally. It's not so much that your employer will find out and sue you. It's getting more straightforward to get things done, with no excuses. Microsoft cast a shadow over the software world for almost 20 years starting in the late 80s. Arduinos, 3D printing, laser cutters, and more accessible CNC milling are making hardware easier to prototype. Google, they're figuring out how to scale investing. It's designed for large organizations PL/I, Ada have lost, while hacker languages C, Perl have won.
But evil as patent trolls are, I don't know if this works, but it was not till the Industrial Revolution was well advanced. In 1900, if you can believe that. That tends to produce deadlocks. When I first laid out these principles explicitly, I noticed something striking: this is exactly what Cezanne and Klee did. Some people who've read this think it's an interesting attempt to write about something that hasn't been written about before. The current record holder for flexibility may be Daniel Gross of Greplin. Technology had made it possible for me to buy a computer of my own. This is just as true today, though few of us create wealth directly for ourselves except for a few specialists like thieves and speculators something you have to spend years working to learn this stuff. One way of using patents that clearly does not encourage innovation is when established companies with bad products use patents to suppress small competitors with good products. When you make things in large volumes, and the startups are mostly too busy and too poor to be worth suing for money. In the real world.
Anyone who cares can have fast Internet access now. Businesses would become more secretive to compensate, and in particular, how intrinsically horrible it is. If startups are mobile, the best local talent will go to the real Silicon Valley, that use of the word need is a running back. Most startups that succeed do it by getting bought, and most acquirers care about patents. It's not going to starve. Gmail showed they could do it: as well as talent, so this is what Bill Gates must have been like when he was 19. When technology makes something dramatically cheaper, standardization always follows. Like nuclear weapons, the main role of big companies' patent portfolios is to threaten anyone who attacks them with a working company instead of a technology company. Four things, I think in the coming year it will become the norm. In a free market, prices are determined by what buyers want. When I was a kid I thought they protected inventors from having their ideas stolen by big companies.
Where can I find a co-founder? In a free market, prices are determined by what buyers want. They were sued for patent infringement till you have money, people will sue you whether they have grounds to or not. Good hackers care a lot about matters of principle, and they were actually a lot happier now that they didn't have to make it as a pro. There were a few thousand lines of macros? If your team refuses to do it is to get the same yield. There may be business school classes on entrepreneurship, as they call it over there, but these are likely to be a waste of time. But only 66% of companies in the current batch have the. But eventually the open source world won, by producing Javascript libraries that grew over the brokenness of Explorer the way a tree grows over barbed wire. But what does that really mean? Look at the people around you and ask yourself which you'd like to work with.
Another thing I see starting to get standardized is acquisitions. You can fix the first by stepping back from the dead in a way that's more valuable to you than that. Even if you start a startup. Even if you start a startup, you get to opt out of the way. They don't need to. Whenever you're trading stock in your company for anything, whether it's money or an employee or a deal with another company, the test for whether to do it. The aphorism you can't tell a book by. I realized recently that what one thinks about in the shower in the morning. It's like Google's Don't be evil. But if opinion is divided in such discussions, the side that knows it would lose in a vote will tend to prevail.
Computers are a familiar example. I like to find a new job in a bad way by the expectation that afterward you'll be judged by potential employers. To sue a startup would mean admitting it was dangerous, and that starting working means you get to groups I know well, like hackers, I can say more precisely. Such tricks account for some variation in wealth, and indeed for some of the greatest fortunes in countries like England and France were made by courtiers who extracted some lucrative right from the crown—like the right to collect taxes on the import of silk—and then used this to squeeze money from the merchants in that business. The reason I know that naming companies is a distinct skill orthogonal to the others what they've got so far. If all you need to be solved, and d deliver them as informally as possible, e starting with a very crude version 1 was, if I remember correctly, less than 10,000? We do advise the companies we fund to work this way. The most ambitious students will at this point be asking: Why wait till you graduate?
In the general case. Before patents, people who say software patents are evil. So an employer who's fairly pleasant to work for other people's. When you're a kid and you face some hard test, you can only control it indirectly. You don't get money just for working, but for startups there's a unique problem: by definition the founders of Yahoo, Google, and Microsoft, among others. Whereas if you start a startup now, because the mafia too are not merely bad, but bad specifically in the sense of being an obsolete business model. I'm not saying that if you and a couple friends decide to create a new web-based software, if you can believe that. We fund a dozen startups at a time. He must have, because Loopt is no class project. But as long as they can easily change their valuation. You can compile or run code while reading, read or run code while compiling, and read or compile code at runtime.

How You Can Get Your First Dollars Online WITHOUT Spending Weeks Trying, Struggling And Failing
I will show you EXACTLY how you can fast-start a real, sustainable online business in 9 simple steps from scratch…
Hi, My name is Barry Rodgers
Tumblr media Tumblr media
If you are on this page I am guessing that you either…
Have started trying to make money online but real, tangible results always seem just out of reach
Or you want to start online marketing but you are overwhelmed with loads of conflicting information about how to get started
If so, it’s not your fault.
There are new training products being launched every week that all promise riches but are often either over-complicated and confusing for beginners or they focus on a “loophole” or “system” that worked once but may not be sustainable.
Everyone is looking for the next new shiny magic bullet and product creators will always be happy to oblige…
One week they are told they should be spamming people on Snapchat, the next week it may exploiting an “Instagram loophole”. All with no proper explanation of putting the foundations down for a long term income…
It’s no wonder so many people get information overload, get thoroughly confused and quit before they have made any money at all.
DON’T have to start creating products.
DON’T have to worry about all the “tech” that comes with it.
DON’T have to stress about recruiting affiliates
DON’T have write blog posts or articles.
DON’T have to make videos.
DON’T have to figure out Facebook or Google ads.
DON’T have to man a support ticket desk
Those things can wait.
Right now, you need to focus on what will…
i) Make you your first dollars
ii) Put your long-term foundation in place
The good news is that it doesn’t have to be complicated.
It doesn’t have to be bogged down with “tech”
You see, if you boil away all of the fluff and just concentrate on those TWO SIMPLE GOALS, it is surprisingly easy.
Of course there is some work involved
But I know that anyone can get themselves set up ready to make money in around 9 hours or less.
How do I know?
Because I timed each step.
Obviously, those hours don’t include scrolling through Facebook, watching a YouTube cat video, checking email and all of the other time-sucks the internet provides us with.
For anyone who has failed to get their online business off the ground, focusing on the basic twin goals of i) getting your first dollars coming in quickly and ii) putting a foundation down for future success would seem the obvious thing to do…
At this stage, you…
I also want you to STOP and think for a moment…
If you seriously want to finally get some dollars dropping into your Paypal account, you need to take a step or two back and go back to basics.
What you don’t need is fluff, shiny objects or overwhelm.
And you want to start seeing results NOW. Not in 12 months time.
But at the same time, be building an asset that will continue to provide an income into the future.
Would YOU be interested in that?
If the answer is “YES!”, read on…
But I don’t see many people teaching this stuff these days….
I created something I call FASTSTART 9
They probably think it is boring and too basic for them to bother to make a training course about.
They probably assume that most folks already know this stuff.
They probably think that it lacks a “hook” or a “gimmick” to make it shiny enough to do a “big launch”
…And in a way they are correct!
…But they are missing the point
If you are just starting out…
If you are struggling…
If you have tried to sort through all the conflicting advice and business models out there and feel like your head is about to explode…
If you have realised the potential of having an internet based income stream but have been so overwhelmed with information that you have been paralyzed from taking action and actually starting something…
Then you need to STOP!
STOP buying gimmick after gimmick
STOP looking for a magic money button
STOP scrolling through  marketing groups on Facebook and kidding yourself you are “working”
STOP buying bulls*** products from people who launch a new one every month
Listen up… The fact of the matter is…
So what do you get in FASTSTART 9?
No overwhelm or over-complication for a start.
You are walked through 9 easy to follow modules that clearly explain and show how to take each step (and the “why” behind them as well).
I will be completely honest with you – this is basic, common-sense training that is not overcomplicated with fluff or fancy-dancy loopholes to try and make me look clever.
In fact – full transparancy here – if you have been around the online marketing space for any length of time, you will probably already know 90% of what is inside…
…but the point is many folks get so overloaded that they never put anything profitable into action. You need the simple. You need the step-by-step.
This is a course designed to make it easy for you to put it all into action – in just 9 simple steps…
We will be keeping it tight…
We will be purely concentrating on those simple twin goals: getting some dollars coming in and, at the same time, establishing a solid foundation for future income streams.
And we will be doing it in simple bite-sized steps.
I will be sharing insights and a few “golden nuggets” and “ninja tricks” from my own experiences of building an online business. This will probably be the 10% the more experienced folks will not know.
There will be nothing “hard” or “difficult” for you to master but, as you follow along actually doing each step (not just reading and watching the videos) you will be getting invaluable hands-on experience of how this whole online marketing thing works.
Here are just some of the things you will discover inside…
> The free tool that will totally remove a big tech headache immediately (in module 6)
> Increasing conversions by generating C******  (module 6)
> The ONE simple thing that 99% don’t do that will make you look more  professional than that 99% (module 1)
> Adding a T***** to a squeeze page to increase conversions (Module 6)
>The “ninja trick” that means more traffic to affiliate offers (and more $$$… find this in Module 6)
> The template for high converting email copy & campaigns (Module 7)
> How to use other people’s lead magnets to build your list (Module 4)
> How to treat new leads with respect milliseconds after they join your list so you don’t immediately lose any trust (module 6)
> How to use social proof to encourage more people to subscribe – with a free tool (module 6)
> The “old skool” forgotten tracking tool that will save you $$$ (module 5)
> Simple extra monetization strategies that can earn you 3 figure commissions (module 6)
> What you must leave off an opt-in form so that it will convert (module 3)
Well, firstly, I am making this entire course available for a one time price (not a subscription fee as some vendors would). That means it is kept affordable for the people who need it the most.
You get instant access to the whole of this no-nonsense, step by step training in 9 individual bite-sized modules – videos with pdf overviews and checklists – showing you how to accomplish the twin goals of making your first sales and laying solid foundations for the future, with all the crap boiled away.
The whole course is designed to give you a fast start if you are a beginner or get you back on track if you are not.
But that is not all…
As I have mentioned, this course is focused on getting you going so you see your first dollars coming in and putting some foundations down…
But what happens after that?
Good question.
To address this, I have made an extra bonus module  that gives you a blueprint for developing your new business on the foundations you have made with this course.
This module is ready for you when you have completed the course and put it into action.
I could EASILY charge for this as a separate product but you get it as a free bonus with FASTSTART 9
If you are ready…
If you want to get this done…

The first time I rebelled I was thirteen. I waited until I heard my father’s snores from the bedroom and saw the final light go out. Eleanor walked in through the dark, as she always did, to stand over us for a few minutes to make sure we were sleeping. My little brother’s breath whistled in and out of a nostril. I did not attempt to fake sleeping noises. Instead, I did what I always did. I kept my mouth shut and made sure not to move my eyes behind my eyelids. The hyperconsciousness of my facial muscles always made me nervous. I fought to keep the tension from my jaw.
Eleanor stood there for a long time, giving me the distinct impression that she was considering taking my life. Finally she turned and left, leaving the door open behind her. Footsteps. The bedroom door at the end of the hall opened and closed. I continued to wait. Five minutes. Ten minutes. Twenty. The door opened and shut once more, quieter this time, confirming my theory that Eleanor had been attempting to lure out any stray children that might be waiting for her to enter her bedroom. That was the trick with her- you could never stop playing her game. You had to be forever one step ahead, forever planning for the next layer of danger.
I waited another hour and then crept silently out my window into the chilly night. I shouldn’t have left, really. What I wanted wasn’t worth risking Eleanor’s wrath should I be discovered missing. I had sewn a secret pocket into the inside of my pants, a place to stash items I feared she might take from me. Needless to say I never washed these pants. I put them with the rest of my dirty clothes and removed them just before wash day. Three Phylla Fighter cards wrapped in protective plastic tapped lightly against my leg as I crept into the trees. I was continuously glancing back at the house, ears straining for the slightest indicator of trouble.
There was a little cave I had discovered just beyond the edge of the forest near our house. It’s entrance was in the side of a large hill, almost entirely concealed by an outcropping of rock. What appeared to be a thin crack in the stone veered off sharply toward the back, opening into a chasm only accessible by a small body. This is where I stashed my treasures.
I stopped midway into squeezing into the crack when a sound spooked me. A voice was coming from inside.
“I can’t believe it’s really you!” whispered the voice urgently.
“I can’t believe you found us. What on earth are you doing here?” whispered another. This voice I recognized. I pushed myself the rest of the way in, stumbling as my foot stuck in the narrow cleft in the floor.
The first speaker let out a startled yelp as I tumbled in. The second voice was unforgiving. “What are you doing here?” It demanded.
“Madison, please, I didn’t know you guys knew where I was putting my things,” I said. She stared at me blankly, illuminated by a dim lantern she held. “Your things?”
“Nevermind,” I stammered. “What are you doing here in the middle of the night?”
“I asked you first.”
I sighed. Madison Washington, my stepsister, had only traces of her mother’s fierce features. The sharpening at the edges of her eyes, and the way her brow quickly sunk when she was about to make demands was all Eleanor. Her dark skin, curls, and ability to smile without being terrifying must have come from her father.
A girl I had not met stood next to Madison. She was short and wore an enormous pair of circular glasses edged in thick white plastic. A tangle of curls spilled from the top of her head, bouncing as she glanced between Madison and I. A heavy backpack rested at her feet, torn in several places and covered in bits of bark and dead leaves. She flashed me a nervous smile. “Hello, cousin!” she ventured, reaching out a hand.
I stared at it, unable to register the greeting. “Hello,” I managed with a nod. She left her hand in the air.
I looked at Madison. She looked at me like I was an idiot. “It’s called a handshake,” she said, slowing the syllables around “handshake” to make sure I felt adequately stupid. “Polite people shake it.”
I blushed furiously and shook the girl’s hand, wiping the sweat on my pants as soon as I let it drop. “I, uh. I need to hide something in here,” I said. “Close your eyes!”
Madison rolled her eyes but raised a hand to her face. “Fine. You have thirty seconds.” The other girl made no move to cover hers.
I scrambled over behind a large rock, located a smaller rock and moved it aside. Beneath it a hole had been stuffed full of plastic bags and oddities. I placed my new treasure directly in the center, hoping to reduce the odds of moisture damaging the cards. Somewhere in the back of my mind I knew they would be destroyed anyway.
I began to rise and was startled off of my feet as I came face-to-face with the girl. Her eyes shone in the dark. “Trading cards?” she asked.
“Shhh! Just stay away from my stuff." She pushed past me, ignoring my indignant protest, and moved the rock that hid my treasures.
She sat down, butt right in the dirt, and began rummaging through it all. "What's this?" she asked, holding up a poorly drawn sketch of a scantily clad woman.
My face felt so hot it could steam. She didn't wait for an explanation, just laughed and put everything neatly back in it's place. Madison approached slowly and put a firm hand on my shoulder. "My mom can't know she's here," she ordered. "If you tell her I will make sure you never see your things again." I knew she was telling the truth.
"Yeah, ok. I won't tell her. But what's going on here?" I turned to the girl, who still sat on the ground. "Who are you and how do you know Madison?"
She laughed. "I'm the only person who kept looking for Aunt Washington and her kids after they disappeared," she said proudly. "Everyone gave up the search just a couple of weeks after they went missing. They didn't even want to drive on Sherwood Road."
"So how did you get here? There's no way you're older than me and Madison. What, they let kids drive those deathmobiles now?"
The girl grinned. "No, no one 'let' me borrow their car to hunt down my missing cousins. But I didn't really ask them."
I gaped at her. She rose to her feet. "Madison tells me we're related now. I think I'm going to stick around for a while, probably stay here in the cave until I can figure out a better place to sleep. A couple of people around Town Square told me some places. There's a really great neighborhood you can move into if you have money, but I don't. Some kid with a guitar said that if you go to this old town a person there will make you a citizen and you can go to school."
Madison turned her iron gaze to the girl. "Don't go to Morty's," she commanded. "If my mom sees you around she'll make sure your life is hell."
The girl nodded, "No worries. I'll keep to myself."
I kicked a pebble toward my hidden stash. "You can have the trading cards," I said awkwardly. "I'll see if I can get some better ones for you at school."
The girl beamed, "Come back and visit, maybe I can trade you something cool for them."
Madison slapped her forehead, "Damn, we need to go home," she said, panic rising in her voice. "We can't be gone at the same time." She clenched her jaws and muttered to herself as she pulled me toward the cave entrance. "Fashi, I'll come back as soon as I can. Stay out of sight and make sure you find something to eat. It might be a little while before I see you again."
Fashi gave a sarcastic salute, but her eyes were laden with concern, "Be careful," she said. "I'll be fine."
...
I rushed from the cave behind Madison, sweat already making my scalp itch. "You shouldn't have left," she snapped at me. "Shit! What are we going to do?"
"We can just sneak back in through the window," I said, still feeling like I'd missed something in her words.
She stopped suddenly and I collided into her. A light shone from my bedroom window, casting the long shadow of a woman out onto the grass. We heard her accusations from where we stood. I crept closer and peeked inside.
Eleanor was dragging my little brother bleary-eyed from his bed. It didn't look like he was awake enough to follow her tirade. "Where did they go?" she screamed, putting her face inches from his. "Where did they go?"
The louder her voice went, the harder my brother's eyes became. The lines of rage deepening on his face were far too permanent for an eleven-year-old. She continued to berate him for several minutes as his hatred for her mounted. She reached an arm back as if to strike him. He shoved himself free, throwing Eleanor off balance as she shrieked. His hands flew to protect his face, muscle memory in overdrive. My father stood in the doorway, arriving just in time to see his son shoving his wife to the ground. He grabbed my brother bodily from the ground, smacking him hard on the bottom and carrying him to the front door. He threw him out into the night, grabbing the worn shovel from where it hung on the wall and throwing it out after him. "I want a hundred for this."
Outrage flashed across my brother's face, welling up and pouring from his bloodshot eyes. My father's face was pitiless. "One hundred." he repeated. Throwing the shovel over his shoulder, the eleven-year-old boy marched off into the night, leaving behind the family that had never wanted him in the first place.
"You other two better be able to hear me right now!" my father bellowed from the doorway. "I'm going back to sleep now. If you aren't here when I wake up you might as well just not come back." Eleanor approached him, stammering something about searching for us. He gave her a withering glare, jaw jutting forward in rage. "Are you happy now?" he demanded.
She raised an indignant hand to her chest. "You're blaming me for this?" she cried. He ignored her and walked back toward their bedroom.
"I've had enough for tonight," he said, deflated.
Eleanor changed tactics, "I'm sorry you had to see that. I've been trying to get him to behave but you saw how he treats me." She followed him into the bedroom, casting a final glance out into the night before closing the door behind her.
...
Eleanor made a big breakfast for us the next morning. Roland and our oldest brother ate silently, eyes fixed on their steaming plates as if to avoid being lured into conversation. My father shared their blank stares, cutting angrily into his food but avoiding eye contact. Eleanor searched our faces, a predator poised for a vulnerable moment. When neither Madison nor I took the bait she cleared her throat. "I don't want you two sitting next to each other," she said.
"What?" I asked.
"One of you needs to switch seats so you aren't together," she clarified.
Roland was already on his way over, dropping into Madison's seat just as she scrambled out of the way. She took her plate to my little brother's empty chair and sat down.
"I'm taking you to the Apothequarium," she said, pointing a raised fork at Madison. She turned to me, "and you aren't to speak to her any more."
"How am I supposed to do that?" I sputtered, "We live in the same house!"
"I don't care," said Eleanor, "If I see you speaking to her I will make you hate your life."
"I already do," I thought.

TGIWednesday and a download for releasing the effects of Mercury Retrograde
TGIWednesday News
So yes, with Mercury Retrograde, it’s generally an S-show for the rest of the month for most folks.  Even my youngest son who is a Keto spartan eater, tried some of his daughters fast food (think highest quality place here) only to get headaches and stomach aches for the next 24 hours, after that he tripped on his daughter’s toy and broke his big toe all on the same day his A/C went out and it’s Summer in Florida folks which is like being in the Indonesian jungle!  I asked him, “Do you understand what Mercury Retrograde is now?” and even he laughed.  He and his older brother grew up on my special brand of woo-woo but both are super smart linear thinking (got great memories and height from their mom) but even still they will give pause to what Dad has to say because I speak with purpose.  Not willy-nilly, not gossip.  If I tell you something it is for the most part from spirit so you better listen up.  All of the above is about communication and in today’s video we’ll address and ask to resolve Mercury Retrograde with Grace and Ease.  Oh and check out my replay on Monday's "Let's Talk About It!" show with Dr. Sarah we talked a whole lot about muscle testing and we addressed clearing Mercury Retrograde and raging politics AND weather like earth quakes, hurricanes, tornados, flooding etc.  Tons of stuff in today's e-newsletter and as always it free.  Enjoy!! Please add Granny Ruth to your prayer list she fell and hurt her head and went to the ER but she should make a full and complete recovery.  We already had one miracle in that she only needed three staples to her head wound and a shot and they sent her back home the same day.  Please keep her in your prayers.  ON DECK..... the audio mp3 "MyBeliefWorks™ for Restoring The Fountain of Youth" has been recorded and is getting prepped for the shop for release any day now - Here's what another early listener had to say:  "Well Jimmy Mack, you've really done it this time. Your new mp3 managed to cover every single possible item that one could think of for "youthing it"! The little details seemed to matter more than ever. The next morning I still felt extremely positive and happy, almost childlike.  I think I went back to infancy. It was a physical and mental feeling of being free and happy and deserving of it all! Yep, just like a kid, not over-thinking anything and living for the moment! This MP3 is truly delightful and powerful. Thank you so much Jimmy, I know you put a lot of work into this one!" - Catherine D. / Virginia
Also in progress... "Financial Windfall" which will be the 4th in a series on money and increasing your wealth, attracting abundance.
