This one goes out to all the houseflies aka muscids! You are NOT gross; you are a scavenger! Your gorgeous, iridescent wings, and shining red eyes go often unappreciated in this world.

You just want to join in on the picnic, and I hope you find creatures & beings who let you with open arms & paws - or whatever appendages they may have.

Bee flies! Hover flies! And all other bee mimicking flies: You are true masters of disguise! You stand out from other flies, donning bright yellow stripes, or a completely fuzzy body. Tiny, buzzing works of art.

You may not make honey, but the world is still wonderful with you in it. Flowers appreciate the many species of you being frequent pollinators (the diptera order is the 2nd most responsible for pollination!). May all your days bee filled with sweet nectar and whatever else brings you happiness!

You can call me André! My other name I will not be sharing here (yet...?).

I am a 20 something year old fly bugkin. I'm a lab-made chimera, with traits of tephritids & muscids (true fruit flies & houseflies). I use he/it pronouns.

My other 'types that are relevent to this blog: André Delambre (The Fly 1958), and fly stop motion puppet.

I'm new to this community, but I've had a very warm welcome on one particular server. However, with there being over 150,000 species of true fly in the world, I thought it strange that there's hardly any other fly kin. I made this blog to reach out to them, and spread fly related positivity!

I block within my comfort range. Basically, no bigots. This is a trans friendly space!

Blow flies and bottle flies! Your metallic chitin is stunning as always, ranging from rich green to gorgeous blue. Your species' contribution to forensic entomology is truly astounding and commendable.

Just as many other families of dipterans, you are adaptable and wonderful scavengers. Always finding the best in situations others can't. One man's trash is a fly's treasure!

This is something I'm going to start doing! For now, I will be vague, but I will also do more specific posts!

If there are any fellow flies out there, who would like some positivity or affirmations about their specific 'types, please let me know!! Send asks! I encourage it!

Now, for starters, something small: dear flies, midges, mosquitos, gnats and others - you are beautiful, resourceful, unique, and not alone (there are many of us! Over 150,000 species!). You are highly skilled, never let anyone undervalue you! 💖
