Gloom District Order Gala Dinner

The annual gala event takes place at Umbrage Manor every Spring, and this years event will be featured in the upcoming season 2 closing episode of my ongoing As Sims Go By video series (to be released in a couple weeks on my youtube channel).

Baron and Baroness of Gloom are hosting the event, and the guest list is very limited as each district order allows for maximum 8 members.They are invited to bring a spouse or other company, but as the event is annual, and some are member of multiple orders, not all will attend every year. For this event the hosts’ main heir, Lord Edward is missing because he is busy studying at University.

Church of Similius

Yes, I have a church in my game, but it��s not a typical religion. They simply praise the green bars, at least officially... I had them in TS3, and now they are back to help forming the community structure. They will be kind of nobility, highly respected but with slightly different rules and traditions :)

First picture shows Hippotanius Dipperwell, the 1st Priest in my region after their new church was built in Year 102. He is still seen as the founder, although there used to exist an older church in Windenburg (damaged during the big war). I have now “played” through all those generations. Mostly in CAS, but also live to capture a few family photos etc. 

This photo was taken recently, when Trompador Dipperwell (Hippotanius’ son) stepped back and his son, Antonius, was ordained as Priest of Similius. The new Priest looks a bit worried, or? As seen, old Trompador carries the high Order of the Golden Lion, honored by the King in Year 169 for Trompador’s work with the church.

Antonius Dipperwell is the current Priest, but as he had no sons (yet), it seems like he will be the last Priest descending directly from Hippotanius. He is still young though (his wife being much older), so he might last for as long as I need a Priest for my game, LOL.

Their robe and hat are quite unique, note the hat and nose are both pointing forward. That nose is a typical genetic thing for the Dipperwells. Sons who do not become Priest are sent to the Monastery on Windenburg’s Isle, and seeing all those forward pointing noses in the Monastery garden makes me smile :)

I’ve posted about Church of Similius previously, but that was before the building was actually built. Finally, it’s there, at Gloom Garden of Gloomville!

Both interior and exterior looks a bit traditional, but this is not a RL religion at all. Preaches are about the green and the red bars, how we can find satisfaction by just about staying in the green. Priest Antonius Dipperwell runs the place with his wife Rizhira, who tends the gift shop and outdoor café (Summer only).

Forget Me Not

I’m so excited! The exhibition that one of my Councilors has worked so hard on for a full year, finally opened! The opening was attended by the enthusiastic Duke Victus Amador Saxor of Meadows. His beautiful late mother is not only featured on the wall, her portrait is also on the official poster. 

The ten persons represent every corner of our region, including the outskirts that are no longer politically part of Region 12. Still, in our past they had a voice, and they used it to make a difference affecting our lives of today. Each portrait is presented with a short text, explaining some of the person's qualities, often with a humorous touch. (It's written in English, but the font makes it hard to read, intentionally).

The entire set (all in one file, GTW required) will be up for grab in a week or so!

The Duke shared a couple memories of his mother, who died in a car accident when he was only six.

Among the many guests were (left to right) Duchess Claudine Be. de Cavalier, Josue Rosewood (Councilor, Culture & Entertainment dept.), Duke Victus Amador Saxor of Meadows, Mila v.T. Munch (leader of Historical Society), Priest Antonius Dipperwell (Church of Similius) and Charloman Au. C. Dougham (Mayor).

Sorry guys, had to be done...

Building up a new family’s history is kinda tough on those past relatives that need to die.

Just because I like the family tree, and those gravestones. Sorry sims. Sorry Grim for giving you so much extra work.

Yes, it’s the Church of Similius that is establishing in my region. That is, I’m finally arranging for their past 123 years... And the guy on the photo is the old Priest Hippotanius Dipperwell the second he realizes who will be next to go... muha!

I had this church in my The Sims 3 game and missed them too much. They praise the green plumbob and this time around they might even get involved with green politics. Kinda good match with a not too serious approach. More about them later.
