I'm a few months late, but I've been wanting to paint Verona since I started reading Pale. I just want her to be happy! To do art and collect weird books and chill out with Julette! Had a bit too much fun decorating Verona's desk. I'll point out two things for free: a tiny portrait of Lucy, and a postcard from Avery.

Dip pen + ink is really fun. Two views of my couch. Pen sketching is getting me out of my comfort zone a bit, since with this style of drawing, you can't erase mistakes. Instead you draw more lines to distract the eye from the incorrect mark. (And sometimes you have to just let it be, like that ink drop on the right.) I'm still learning how to let my lines be shaky and gestural. Learning how to use the flexible dip pen nib to draw thicker, flooded lines, or thin, scratchy lines. To draw an approximation and an edit of what I can see, rather than trying for literal representation.
