n don’t get me wrong I love smut as much as the next person but I cannot stand meaningless smut. With no substance just mindless sex with no passion or any ounce of affection attached to it. No buildup, no pining, no tension so thick it’s palpable no “fuck why are these jeans glued on” no “clumsiness or characters being awkward because sex is awkward sometimes and intimidating” no characterisation, character development or poking fun in a lighthearted way because

the way they’d be so unapologetic about it too maybe not even vocal but the look that fucking look that screams “yeah? n what you’re gonna do about it?” or maybe they’re flustered but that’s hot either way because it’s them, it’s their quirk

To the baker’s dozen of people who like X Drake, I’ve compiled a list of allosaurus facts, just in case that might spark some creative thought. I’m just throwing these out there.

- double-hinged jaw allowed the jaw to open to seventy-nine degrees (comparable to modern snakes)

- had a bite force around 2,111 pound-force (957 kilogram-force) (this is from a new study, replacing the old fact that allosauruses had a weak bite force)

- between 26 to 30 feet (8 to 9 meters) in length

- weighed between 3,307 to 6,614 pounds (1,500 to 3,000 kilograms)

- could reach a top speed between 19 to 34 miles per hour (30 to 55 kilometers per hour), which is actually not that fast in the grand scheme of swiftness

- legs were weak and had less muscle mass than the rest of the body

- though short, the arms had more muscle mass and were very strong

- the claws on the three-fingered hand were large, strongly curved, and very sharp

- the claws of the three-toed feet were less developed and vaguely hoof-like (less protruding and curved)

- there was a inner dewclaw on each foot

- grew until around 15 years old, and had a lifespan between 22 to 28 years

- likely attacked prey by grabbing it and then biting the throat until it died (think of modern large cats)

- likely consumed prey by holding it down with their feet and then rapidly jerking their heads up to remove pieces (think of modern birds of prey)

- had a binocular field of vision of only twenty degrees, and relied on monocular vision (using one eye to see); this means allosauruses probably had very poor depth perception, but would have been able to make out things in their environment, especially if said things were moving (monocular vision makes everything appear flat, while binocular vision allows for 3D processing) (humans have a binocular field of vision of one hundred twenty degrees, fyi)

- had large olfactory bulbs well suited for detecting smells (smell was probably their best sense)

- heard low frequencies best, and probably could not hear quiet sounds very well

- there is evidence allosauruses bit each other on the skull and crests, but the reason for such bites is unclear (probably a way to establish dominance)

The humid, sticky air in the practice room stuck to Junhui like another layer of skin or the hot sugar syrup of tanghulu. But he forged on until Hoshi looked at the way their chests were heaving and called for a break. Like a marionette whose strings were cut, all the members of the performance team fell on the floor. And laying down on the dirty wooden floor with three other people was as normal as breathing for Junhui.

Cushioning his head with one arm, he started scrolling through TikTok. Suddenly one video caught his eye and he couldn’t stop watching it on repeat. Slowly he sat up and looked musingly at the other three. Tilting his head, he asked, “Do you think cows have therapists?”

Simultaneously three head swivelled in his direction and a cacophony of voices filled the air.

“ Jun, cows are animals. They don’t need therapists but I think I need one now.”

“ Cows are social animals, right? If they talk to one another, they must have that one friend all of them confide in. Like us with Jeonghan. That’s kind of a therapist I guess.”

“ Can’t cows go to human therapists? But maybe they need a cow therapist cause a human one might not understand their moos.”

Glancing at Minghao who still had disbelief written on his face, Junhui grumbled, “ Don’t lie. You already have a therapist to process our bullshit.” 

And then, turning to the two other more reasonable members of seventeen, he asked, “ Can you guys take a look at this and tell me if I force a cow to watch it, will it need a therapist?”

If someone peeked through the door at that moment, they would have seen all the members of the performance team crowding around a tiny screen to watch a man moo in many, many ways. Flabbergasted, Minghao said,

“ Isn’t that Matthiew from Zerobaseone?”

“ People are calling him Moothiew now.” Hoshi replied absently, still mesmerized by the video.

With a solemn face, Chan murmured, “ If I were a cow and I saw this, I would try to drown myself in mud or something out of secondhand embarrassment. Forget about going to a therapist.”

A beat later, laughs and giggles burst out of everyone like a broken dam. Jun tried to calm himself down but anytime he made eye contact with one of the others, the giggles bubbled up out of him. Blissfully he thought,

I hope we can always stay like this.
