Been meaning to try @oldbirdrestaurant for a while now and what better time than during @dineoutvanfest . Something about the flavors and dishes were nostalgic yet new. Their house made chilli oil is a must have as it is 🔥🔥 Old Bird is able to bring a modern twist to the traditional flavors. Definitely a must try ! @dineoutvanfest at Bistro Verde. this restaurant is located inside the Nordstrom on Robson. I love the view of the art gallery from here and their food is always 💣 loved everything I had from their dineout menu. A great little lunch spot ☀️I did find the chocolate cake a little sweet but the Crème Brûlée was great ! Creamy and smooth yet crunchy from the carmalized sugar ! Their lobster bisque had chunks of lobster in it ! After moving to Canada from Japan in 2013, Haruna Makino studied culinary management at George Brown College and, while still a student, began working as a chef and food stylist. At 30, she’s already the executive chef of Grasshopper Restaurants, a plant-based restaurant group with two locations in Toronto. At Grasshopper, Makino marries her love of plant-based cooking with her Japanese heritage.
