“The professor could kick my ass and I would thank them. You don’t know me that well Felix”. Hurting the professor with his bare fists was a big no-no after all. They could get hurt, crest powers and all, minor or not. Besides, he’s had worse things than swords cutting into him. Dimitri will be fine. Still, he’s sure that this will put out any smugness coming from anyone, including Felix. Who’s currently laughing to himself. Well, jokes on him and everyone else. And if he dies from this, it will be a happy one. Uh-oh. Now he’s worse than Sylvain of all people. What’s next? Him hitting on scarecrows? Perish the thought. Anyways, when was the professor coming again?? Not like he was waiting for them or anything.....

I have quite a few headcanons, so I’ll share a few.

• I like to think that Dimitri often bursts through doors like the Kool Aid man when he’s in a rush. This has resulted in many broken doorknobs and hinges in the monastery, much to Dimitri’s embarrassment.

• At meal times, Flayn and Raphael go straight for the fish. Nothing can stop those two from enjoying a good meal.

• Dedue and Mercedes often end up running into each other in the greenhouse. Their conversations can be brief, but the silences between them are comfortable. After the war, they often make use of Fhirdiad castle’s greenhouse in their spare time.

• Claude grows closer to Byleth and Dimitri after the war. He claims it’s purely for diplomatic reasons between Fódlan and Almyra, but he does consider them good friends after all that they’ve been through.

• The flesh of most Demonic Beasts comes in several layers, as if the flesh has been crudely put together in a rush to create as many as possible.

• If a descendant of one of the Ten Elites becomes a Demonic Beast, their form often resembles that of creatures associated with those lineages. For example, a Hresvelg Demonic Beast would resemble an eagle with multiple heads, while a Blaiddyd Demonic Beast would take the form of a distorted wolf lion hybrid.

The amount of joy I get from realizing that Dimitri is basically Superman in terms of strength, but he cannot control it AT ALL and this causes him a huge problem in one support because he can’t even thread a needle since he snaps them is immense. He’s just this insanely strong man who likes cheese and seeing Byleth smile and I love it.

Sorry my stupid ass touched the send button before I finished typing! What are your favorite ships in the game and how do they stack up to the games most popular ships? From what I've seen, Edeleth "specifically with f byleth" seems to be the most popular by quite a margin! Which I think is awesome, that after all these years one of the flagship/fav pairings for FE is a wlw/lgbt couple! As a long time fan, it makes me elated and really hopeful for the future entries in terms of rep.

It’s okay! I hit “Send”/“Enter” too early too sometimes, and of course it’s always with people I’m less familiar with so I feel more badly about it.

f!Edeleth is definitely a huge favorite, of course. I never really see m!Edeleth and personally I am all for that. So I’m definitely in the majority and on board with that popular ship.

I don’t see it as much but I also love f!Bylethea. It doesn’t seem to be very popular, but perhaps in a Top 3 ships for Dorothea, but in third place.

Petrathea is wholesome and great as well and either Dorothea’s most popular ship involving her or second most popular, but I’m here for that as well. I like to pair them up if I’m not S-supporting Dorothea myself.

Dorothea/Ingrid whose ship name I don’t know, but I love them. They’re either more popular or second most popular for Dorothea’s ships. I see fanart for them around a lot when I do see any for Dorothea (which isn’t a whole lot and not too often).

One that I only know of one other person who ships them is Edelgard/Ingrid in a knight and liege trope where they silently pine for one another, but are hesitant to act on their feelings despite how clear it is they each have feelings for one another.

I’ve seen a very small handful of fanarts for them (I can probably count it on one hand), but I also really like Edelgard/Dorothea. After Byleth, Dorothea’s the one who I envision being able to see Edelgard as a person and not only as an emperor. And the opera Dorothea makes about Edelgard is her way of admitting her feelings.

I have yet to see anything for them at all, but I also like f!Byleth/Ingrid. Oh well, at least if I squint really hard and use the power of imagination, my m!Byleth turns into f!Byleth in the S-support scene with her.

Same as above for f!Byleth/Marianne. It’s a wasteland out here for both those ships.

f!Byleth/Mercedes is so cute. Mercedes is so kind and such a sweetheart. I don’t see anything for them very often so I guess they aren’t a very popular ship, but I’ve never seen anyone say anything against them either at least.

Another popular ship, that I do really enjoy a lot is Shamir/Catherine. I love their dynamic with each other and their supports were entertaining. I do only like Catherine though when she’s not talking about Rhea, so that’s a point against her.

I swear I have M/F and M/M ships I like. Sylvain/Felix is hugely popular and I can see why after reading their supports and seeing their endings together. I like their interactions with each other too.

Dimitri/Dedue for a classic king and his knight trope is good. I ended up liking Dedue more than I anticipated. Before he was very much about Dimitri and serving his king and that made him seem kind of bland to me until I got to see more to him. I know Dimileth is hugely popular and so is Dimitri/Claude (which I can get behind, but they’re not a favorite ship). After that though I sometimes see a little of Dimitri/Dedue. I don’t think Dedue is widely popular though but at least people seem to like him nonetheless.

m!Byleth/Dedue took me by surprise and I’m salty I can’t S-support Dedue as m!Byleth now. I know their supports are the same if you play as f!Byleth, but I prefer m!Byleth with him. I’ve seen something for them maybe once.

Ashe/Byleth (either one), Ashe/Ingrid, Ashe/Marianne, Ash/Mercedes. I’m here for it all. He’s so sweet and his interactions are so wholesome and good, and he makes everyone happy. I love him so much. His supports with each of them and his endings with them all are wonderful. I don’t think they’re very popular ships or at least not from what I’ve seen of him with any of them (or rather lack thereof), but I know people love him anyway.

Hilda/Marianne was one I thought was cute, but I didn’t care about Hilda very much for the longest time. And then I got to her B-supports and my opinions on her changed and now I like her more. She’s not a favorite of mine, but I do enjoy her. I like her supports with Marianne and with Mercedes too, but I think she’s cute with Marianne as a pairing and more as friendship with Mercedes.

As a side note for Dorothea’s ships I like how that majority of her most popular ships are with other girls, which I fully support as well. I definitely don’t ship her with any of the guys, and her A-supports with them felt a little forced as a “Don’t forget she’s bi! No lesbian characters here!” So I headcanon she’s lesbian, and honestly, I don’t think we’ll ever get an explicitly lesbian character (god forbid there’s a female character that fans wouldn’t be able to marry as m!MU or to a different male character).

I’m going to be super honest and this might not be what people like to hear, but I don’t think the inclusion of F/F and M/M was necessarily for the sake of inclusion (maybe a little). BUT! That’s not to say we can’t celebrate the F/F and M/M we did get, because we definitely can and I’m really happy we got it! And I do definitely hope for more and even better F/F and M/M in the future for FE games.

He still wasn’t used to contact from anyone, the years had made Dimitri a little on edge from physical touch, whether it be non-threatening or not. Didn’t matter if it was an affectionate hug from his more open friends and companions, the flight or fight response was drilled into him from trying to survive the past encounters while being exiled. Not everything from that could be totally erased, no matter how many times Dimitri was working to be a better person and leader than he had been years prior, while he was still in the academy.

However, that seemed to melt away as he felt small arms wrap around him and noticed a familiar presence from behind him. How was she able to do something like this without him realizing it? Perhaps because he was now a giant compared to her height which did not change one bit while Byleth was sleeping in the canyon. Dimitri now had to strain himself to even see her sometimes and only saw her form while in the distance rather than up close. Well, besides the tea times when she kept staring up at him with those big curious eyes of hers. Which somewhat unnerved him but Dimitri was smart enough to keep his mouth shut and let her do what she pleased.

Back to the present from that trip down memory lane that actually only happened a few weeks ago, he struggled to hear exactly what Byleth had said. Something like ‘I’m sorry’ and ‘stay a little longer’ which confused Dimitri at first but the more he thought about it, the more it made sense. She hadn’t rested in awhile, not with them marching from place to place. And so, the blonde relaxed in the smaller person’s embrace, letting Byleth hold him tight. If she needed a break from everything, he would provide her own. Somewhere deep in his heart, he knew that he was her support, just like he was hers. An unspoken thing really. That really didn’t need words but Dimitri couldn’t let things be like that, not now.

----“You don’t need to apologize but also, you aren’t straining yourself to reach me are you? If so, I could sit down. However, that might make you let go of me and I really don’t want that either......Suppose we could....Forget it. Stay as long as you need. I am always there for you, even during my darkest days where I pretend to be rude because I’m afraid of losing others that are important to me. I still enjoy having you by my side”. Dimitri wanted to suggest that they could embrace another way but stopped himself from his own selfish thought, less Byleth think he was joking again. Really pitiful of him to offer another way for them to be in each other’s company. Unless......
