Google Search Easter Eggs - Weird, but really cool
What is the difference between 'Google Easter Eggs' and 'Google Search Easter Eggs'?
Before I start bombarding you with with Eggs, it would be necessary to tell you the difference between the two terms mentioned above. The first is a general term that refers to all the Easter Eggs in Google as a whole. The second, however refers to the Easter Eggs that are found by searching for specific word/words on Google.
1] Askew
Tumblr media
Search for 'askew' on Google leads to the page feeling - lazy?. When 'askew' is searched on Google, the webpage is tilted slightly.
2] Anagram
Tumblr media
Google likes bothering animals? That's news to me. Searching for 'anagram' on Google shows - "Did you mean - nag a ram".
3] Define anagram
Tumblr media
This Egg has confirmed my lifelong suspicions that Google supports nerds. When searching this on Google, it shows - "Did you mean - nerd fame again".
4] Recursion
Tumblr media
Have you ever had the feeling of doing something again and again just because you think it will lead you in the right direction? Well, you can now. Searching for this causes Google to show - "Did you mean - recursion". No matter how many times it is clicked upon, it leads to the same page.
5] Do a barrel roll
Tumblr media
I will define this as the opposite of the 'askew' Egg. Google feels quite hyped now. I wonder who illegally bought sugar inside?

The Chrome Dino - From a lonely T-rex, to an iconic part of Google
Here's a really good riddle for your friends : What is the only dinosaur that hasn't gotten extinct yet? It's the Chrome Dino! If there is something something more iconic by Google other than their famous logo, it's the Dino itself!
What is the 'Chrome Dino"?
The Chrome Dino is represented by a pixelated T-Rex as in the picture below.
Tumblr media
The Dino first featured in the "No Internet" page that Google Chrome displayed, and made it's way into a full-fledged Easter Egg.
Tumblr media
This Easter Egg was one of the most popular Google Easter Eggs ever, and exploded in popularity as and when new updates were added to the game.
How can I activate the Easter Egg?
The page to play this game can be accessed in 3 different ways :-
- Trying browse on Google Chrome while offline leads to the Network Error page from which the game can be accessed by pressing the spacebar or the up-arrow key.
- Going to "chrome://dino" (online or offline) will trigger the game, only in this case, the game attains the entire screen making it easier to play.
- Going to "chrome://network-error/-106" (online or offline) will lead to the same Network Error page that appears when the user tries to browse offline.
What else?
- Recently, Google added a feature in Chrome, that allows a user to create a QR Code made especially for the page that they are on. When a user invokes this feature, a QR Code is displayed, and one will realize that in the center of the code, an illustration of the Chrome Dino is present.
- From September 2014, tapping the dinosaur or pressing space or the up arrow key launches a browser game known as the 'dinosaur game' in which the player controls a running dinosaur by tapping the screen or pressing space to avoid obstacles, including cacti and, from June 2105, pterodactyls. In 2016, another feature was added to the game. When the player reaches 700 points, the game begins to switch between day and night.
- During September 2018, for Google's 10th birthday, a birthday cake causing the dinosaur to wear a birthday hat when collected was added.

Google Collab - Of Kittens, Corgi, Rainbows, and Power Levels
Google Collaboratory has been helping many developers across the globe develop tools and programs for free. Since it's release in 2017, there have only been 2 Easter Eggs documented and made known to the public.
1] Kittens and Corgi
Google is a big fan of everything cute and cuddly, but it's favourites are - you guessed it - Kittens and Corgi. To activate this particular Egg, users must navigate to the top-left corner of the screen, and select the 'Tools' option. Under the 'Tools' option, they must select the 'Settings' option so as to open the settings dialog box. In the dialog box, they will encounter many Sections on the left side of the box, where the 'Miscellaneous' option must be selected whereupon the two checkboxes  - named "Corgi mode" and "Kitty mode" - should be selected and after the following is done, Kittens and Corgi start walking on your task bar.
Tumblr media
This feature initially started off as an April Fools joke, but users liked it so much, that it made it's way into the program as a fully-fledged Easter Egg for Collab's many users to enjoy!
Tumblr media
Bonus : On Pride Month 2021 (June) selecting this feature caused the first Corgi that walked across your screen to have a rainbow-colored heart float and blink about above it.
2] Power Level
This Egg will work when you type. To access this Egg, We must navigate to the "Miscellaneous" tab in the Settings of Collab as shown in the previous Egg. Under the tab, a dropdown is seen under the name "Power Level". This dropdown shows many options out of which the options "Some power" and "Many power" will activate the Egg. Selecting any of these options will show a shower of sparks when anything is typed. It also displays a "combo" number at the bottom right.
