This is one bad @cadillac. Definitely the loudest false floor we’ve ever heard. Who says you can’t have monstrously loud bass and still  have a functional and good looking trunk. @mikeschwitz knocked this one out of the park by incorporating the caddie logo and shape of the grill into the trim panel then lighting it with red led to match the car. This week has progressed nicely. I have started working on the 10 seconds of animation needed for the project, working from research from Easter that I have done. I have continued to develop my branding and showreel work in the meantime from feedback given in the previous week,

This week has progressed nicely. I have started working on the 10 seconds of animation needed for the project, working from research from Easter that I have done.

I have also bought a domain haydnimation.com, which I feel has given the portfolio a professional edge to it.

I have written a cover letter, which I will send to a tutor to get feedback on. While this is not necessary for submission, I feel that the researching and time spent on it has been worthwhile.

• Area for Development

In the upcoming week, I will continue to work on the 10 seconds of animation, as well as iron out any last few details on the other parts of the project. This upcoming week is also the deadline for the Blue-Zoo Summer Internship, so I shall make sure that everything I submit for that is in a good state to be sent.

CV Research:

This week I have been focussing my research and work on this project on designing and creating a new CV. My old CV is very retail based as I have used it only to get temporary jobs alongside and previously to my university studies.

I started by researching examples of designer’s/creative’s CVs, and looked at an article on Bubble Jobs website (http://www.bubble-jobs.co.uk/digital_design/cv-tips/animator/) which was very helpful.

The article was titled ‘Animator CV Tips’, and to summarise, the main tips were:

A CV can be equally as important as a showreel and portfolio

Include work history, skills and names you’ve worked with/for before

Name your projects: talk about who you worked with/for and what process and techniques you used

If you can’t fit all the information, use the CV to point to a part of your portfolio (if you are handing that in with your CV) - getting a printed/physical portfolio is something I will look into - doing this can also tempt a potential employer into actually bothering to look at your portfolio as well.

List key skills and programs that you use (e.g. Adobe Creative Suite, Maya etc.)

Include a sample sheet - this is a one page sheet which includes snapshots of your best animation work - it’s a good idea to try and keep the design consistent with the rest of your application and to choose either one image for each project

Don’t go over the top with design so it distracts from the actual content

It could be worth choosing one particular design element that’s present on your portfolio and/or demo reel and incorporating this into your CV or cover letter too (I will probably use my cloud logo design)

Demonstrate your personality - include hobbies, especially relevant ones that show you have a passion for the industry.

Have clear objectives regarding the industry you would like to work for/type of company you would like to work for.

I then started browsing pinterest for CV design examples, after discussing with my classmate Paige, who said she had found some good inspiration on there.
