A/N: I finished the book and looked for fanfiction about dodge but couldn't find any.

To dodge it was all the same, get up ,come home , then see what the new panic challenge was that night .But this morning it was different, when Dodge got up he noticed his whole body hurt his head pounded and his Stomach was twisting and churning like crazy. "Must be from the challenge" he thought and all the adrenaline he used to try finish off the challenge. There were rumors that the police were closing in on the judge's and that the game might not continue. To everyone it wasn't a loss but to him it was, he wanted out of the town, dodge wake up!!" His mom yelled up. By the time he got Done getting ready  he rushed down the stairs seeing dayna already ready and eating her breakfast ( which he felt his stomach turn at the thought of eating.) " im leaving now not hungry!" He shouted before Dayna could ask what was wrong.

" OK TONIGHTS CHALLENGE IS YOU HAVE TO SPEND THE WHOLE NIGHT IN THAT HOUSE!!" Diggans yelled while everyone was pumped dodge was not he felt worse as the day went on and the heat wasn't helping while they got ready nat came over " hey you ok dodge? You don't looks so good." She asked concerned " yeah I'm fine just tired didn't get much sleep." He responded she nodded and left it there, the only thing she did was pull heather aside " keep an eye on dodge I'm going to do it to also he looks terrible, I'm worried about him." She whispered , heather nodded back at her.

When dodge woke up he was in extreme pain, what had started out as a simple stomach ache had morphed into something unbearable, he was moving so much that he woke heather up " dodge, dodge are you ok?? ." She asked when he responded with a whimper she knew it was bad. "Nat wake up dodge is in pain I don't know what's causing it!!" Heather screeched that woke nat up while they were trying to get dodge up he leaned over and threw up on the floor heather and nat jumped back one from extreme shock but also because they were frightened, when they looked back at Dodge they saw that there was a little bit of blood, " we gotta get him to a hospital heather call bishop and tell him to get here asap!!" Nat yelled while trying to calm down a panicking Dodge. She was surprised at how hot he felt she also knew he was playing panic because he wanted help for his sister and was scared if he missed a challenge he would be disqualified . "Shhh your ok dodge, we're getting you help." Nat tried to sooth but it wasn't working in his fever hase he could hear Nat talking to him but he was hallucinating from the pain and the fever, he knew he was crying but he didn't care he was in pain and just wanted it to be over. Once again he leaned over and threw up some more it hurts so much no one would understand " he's here Nat we gotta move fast if it's what I think it is!!" Heather screamed, and that's all dodge heard before passing out. "Heather he passed out!!.Dodge come one wake up please." Nat yelled making bishop almost crash the car she was trying to wake him up but it was not working at all.

When dodge woke up he could only feel a dull throbbing that has once felt like he was being stabbed, when he looked over he saw Nat, heather, and bishop all sleeping on the chairs that were in his room. Once they started to wake up they noticed he was awake and were so great full! "Dodge your ok!!" Nat cried and gently hugged him " "yeah why wouldn't I be?" He asked "never do that again dumbass ." Heather joined in. A few moments later that heard a knock on the door and showd his mom and sister in the doorway, " mom? Dayna? What are y'all doing here?" He asked " well when you hear your brother is in the hospital cause his appendix ruptured and worries your to death that's why we're here." Dayan said lightly punching him in the shoulder " why didn't you tell anyone that you felt sick honey?" His mom asked " because I'm doing something that I need to keep doing and if I stop then I can't get Dayna any help." Dodge answered.

A few days after he was aloud to go home and rest and not do anything like he'd pulled the days before, he had also learned he was sill in panic and not disqualified because it was a heath emergency.

FEA 392 Sec02 Week 13

Our screening of Skam season 3 was a very constant reminder of the sort of very upfront neoliberal and millennial ideals and approach to queerness that the reading provided insight on, not just politically, but in technology and culture. Diggan’s reading this week directly addresses the mainstream culture in the statement, “This New Homonormativity comes equipped with a rhetorical recoding of key terms in the history of gay politics; ‘equality’ becomes narrow, formal access to a few conservatizing institutions.” From this angle, we get Skam as a statement of the less fortunate “equal” that holds the goal of continuously legitimizing itself by keeping up with modern times in as many aspects as possible. While when I first heard of it I didn’t think it to be much more than a gimmick, the ways in which the show attempts to keep audience in the loop and engaged with the story in a much more real-world sense actually speaks to me the idea that there is no segment of time constraining queer or progressive ideology to a solitary moment. Our movements now and the way that we think of them can be seen as “the old days” when society develops and our ideas along with it, keeping us from locking in a certain way of thinking that creates a norm systematically unable to promote progression past the point we have created. The point though is, it’s fun. It’s fun keeping up with a show so much you can actively check the texts between characters in real time as if it were really happening.

Finding out you're going to be a mother is like accepting one of the most prestigious jobs in the world, but for women in the athletic industry, it's one that also comes at a very expensive price point.

In May, Allyson Felix, who now holds the record for earning the most gold medals in World Championships history, opened up about how starting a family required her to take a 70% pay cut from her Nike endorsement deal. Recently, in a shocking tweet, WNBA player Skylar Diggins-Smith revealed that she was scoring buckets with a baby full of belly for an entire season due to fear of lack of support from her organization.

The Indiana-born 29-year-old Dallas Wings player started her professional career in 2013 and six years later, after becoming a four-time WNBA All-Star, wife, and mother, spoke her truth via Twitter last weekend.

Athletic companies don't seem to care about Black mothers and athletes like Allyson Felix and Skylar Diggins-Smith refuse to be silent about it any longer. Skylar, who gave birth to her first child in April, first announced her pregnancy last October nearly two months after finishing out the five-month season.

Since then, she has taken maternity leave to focus on her family and received backlash from internet trolls and sports fans alike as a result of her absence. But Skylar had a classy clapback for her critics and opened up about that she had been hiding from the world for months:

"I played the ENTIRE season pregnant last year! All star, and led league (top 3-5) in MPG….didn't tell a soul."

In the tweets, Skylar also revealed that postpartum depression had played a huge part in both her hiatus from the sport and her new journey as a mother. Although WNBA rules state that if a player becomes pregnant, they are entitled to half their salary and have all of their medical bills paid, it's unclear if Skylar's employers kept up their end of the deal because the athlete went on to say that she was offered "limited" resources for recovery.

AMERICA IS FAILING ITS BLACK MOTHERS

For decades, Harvard Chan alumni have shed light on high maternal mortality rates in African American women. Finally, policymakers are beginning to pay attention.

Serena Williams knew her body well enough to listen when it told her something was wrong. Winner of 23 Grand Slam singles titles, she’d been playing tennis since age 3—as a professional since 14. Along the way, she’d survived a life-threatening blood clot in her lungs, bounced back from knee injuries, and drowned out the voices of sports commentators and fans who criticized her body and spewed racist epithets. At 36, Williams was as powerful as ever. She could still devastate opponents with the power of a serve once clocked at 128.6 miles per hour. But in September 2017, on the day after delivering her baby, Olympia, by emergency C-section, Williams lost her breath and recognized the warning signs of a serious condition.

She walked out of her hospital room and approached a nurse, Williams later told Vogue magazine. Gasping out her words, she said that she feared another blood clot and needed a CT scan and an IV of heparin, a blood thinner. The nurse suggested that Williams’ pain medication must be making her confused. Williams insisted that something was wrong, and a test was ordered—an ultrasound on her legs to address swelling. When that turned up nothing, she was finally sent for the lung CT. It found several blood clots. And, just as Williams had suggested, heparin did the trick. She told Vogue, “I was like, listen to Dr. Williams!”

But her ordeal wasn’t over. Severe coughing had opened her C-section incision, and a subsequent surgery revealed a hemorrhage at that site. When Williams was finally released from the hospital, she was confined to her bed for six weeks.

Like Williams, Shalon Irving, an African American woman, was 36 when she had her baby in 2017. An epidemiologist at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), she wrote in her Twitter bio, “I see inequity wherever it exists, call it by name, and work to eliminate it.”

Irving knew her pregnancy was risky. She had a clotting disorder and a history of high blood pressure, but she also had access to top-quality care and a strong support system of family and friends. She was doing so well after the C-section birth of her baby, Soleil, that her doctors consented to her request to leave the hospital after just two nights (three or four is typical). But after she returned home, things quickly went downhill.

For the next three weeks, Irving made visit after visit to her primary care providers, first for a painful hematoma (blood trapped under layers of healing skin) at her incision, then for spiking blood pressure, headaches and blurred vision, swelling legs, and rapid weight gain. Her mother told ProPublica that at these appointments, clinicians repeatedly assured Irving that the symptoms were normal. She just needed to wait it out. But hours after her last medical appointment, Irving took a newly prescribed blood pressure medication, collapsed, and died soon after at the hospital when her family removed her from life support.

Viewed up close, the deaths of mothers like Irving are devastating, private tragedies. But pull back, and a picture emerges of a public health crisis that’s been hiding in plain sight for the last 30 years.

Wilford Warfstache in the VenturianTale Universe

Since I first discovered Wilford I’ve thought about how well he would fit into the VT Gmod universe, so here’s a concept of him being taken into the Acachalla family. Warning: If you don’t watch VenturianTale this will make exactly zero sense. It’s also really scattered because I’m quite tired.

Maybe he wouldn’t be adopted as one of the kids, but it is the Acachallas so that’s entirely a possibility. And the most likely possibility.

“Gertrude, he’s a grown man!”

“Yeah, and he’s also our new son!”

He probably wouldn’t call Papa Papa, he’d proababy call him Acachalla. Or Baldy. Something that annoys him.

I’m undecided if he calls Gertrude Mama Gertrude. That’s practically her title really, she is Mama to near everyone she meets really, so he probably would.

Death is a temporary thing in the VT universe, just like he thinks it is in his own! He can shoot people all he wants and it’s just like, yeah he’s an Acachalla they do that. Anyway here comes Billy to bring everyone back from the dead.

He probably got stuck in Little Butts by accident. His powers aren’t entirely under his control after all. He met Mama Gertrude first and she immediately got to momming. 

Sally loves him. His mustache is pink, he ‘s silly, and he likes having Waffle parties with her! She absolutely gives him one of her tutus, and she totally paints his nails to match his mustache. 

Billy was unsure of him until Wilford helped him escape from Maddie Friend. Billy thinks of him as a big brother because of that. 

Sue loves his hair, loves it! 

I should mention that my version of Sue is non-binary and goes by they.

They like playing with Wilford’s hair when it gets longer, doing braids and stuff. They give Wilford a pink streak in it at one point. Wilford loves it.

The two of them share shampoo, Sue knows how to take care of hair better than anyone else in the house.

The Acachallas, as we know, have no problem with cover-ups, so you can bet if the police do go after Wilford the whole family is going to try and do a cover-up or hide him or something. It probably won’t go to well but in a week no-one will remember anyway.

I headcanon that Gertrude sews and makes clothes for the kids as presents, so she for sure makes some for Wilford. Some of them are disco-themed, those are his favorites.

Wilford is a reporter, he somehow got his own show really soon after he got to Little Butts. Probably threatened someone or something. His cameraman is a Higgily Diggily Hoogan.

I know Papa isn’t very popular in the fandom but my version of him is nice, if you hate Papa you may want to skip this next section. I’ll make it italic so you know when it ends.

Papa is shocked that Wilford’s sweet tooth can rival Papa’s own. Sometimes they have Oreo-eating contests and Wilford always wins.

Papa was Wilford’s first interview on his show. It ended with he and Papa seeing who had the faster gun draw. Wilford did.

Papa does love his family a lot, even though he does the “I’m a dude I can’t show very much affection” thing. It takes awhile to accept Wilford as family, but eventually he does and starts including Wilford when he complains about how crazy his family is.

Okay, Papa part over.

Wilford doesn’t change his last name from Warfstache, but he does start saying he’s “Of the Acachalla clan”.

He gets along great with Freddie, Freddie tried to eat him at first so Wilford tried to kill him but after that was over they started warming up to each other. Now Wilford can ride a dinosaur.

He can make pink waffles. When he does this for Sally she proclaims him to be her favorite sibling.

He did an interview with Billy about what it’s like to be a medic, but it quickly devolved into wondering if there’s anything Billy can’t heal, and an ensuing experiment that proved no, there isn’t.

Higgily Diggly Hoogan  #564 (or Diggan, as he goes by) likes being Wilford’s cameraman well enough, but it does get awkward when a law enforcement Higgily comes around about Wilford’s latest illegal escapade.

Wilford is super happy with the Acachallas in Little Butts. He eventually figures out how to get back to the other Ipliers, but he visits his other family often and has lots of adventures with them.
