hey :) i just saw you posted stuff about books from Wolfgang Herrndorf (the author of tschick) and i loveeeeeddddd!!!! that book. could you recommend me his other books too? which one the most? would be great to hear your thoughts :))
Hiiii!! Happy to hear you enjoyed reading Tschick! It's one of my favorite books!!! :-)
If you liked Isa in Tschick, I'd recommend reading Bilder Deiner Großen Liebe next because this book is about her story (but keep in mind that it was published after Herrndorf's death so it's not entirely written/arranged by him).
Diesseits des Van-Allen-Gürtels might also be interesting after reading Tschick because some of the characters mentioned in those stories also make an appearance in Tschick (in some way) and it's fun to look for the connections! Just a disclaimer: It's not a novel, but rather a selection of different stories that all kind of connect to each other. Can be confusing. I had to read it two times 💀 But it was worth it!
If you're looking for a (short) novel that's reminiscent of the writing style in Tschick (but a little bit darker), go for In Plüschgewittern! I don't really know how to describe this book. It's about some cynical guy who just broke up with his gf and doesn't really know what to do with himself. I liked it!
If you want something totally different, read Sand. It's a thriller/spy novel set in the 70s in an unnamed state somewhere in North Africa. It's about an amnesiac guy who tries to get his memory back. It's the last book that Herrndorf finished before he died. It's pretty long (for a Herrndorf novel) and pretty messed up in some parts, but it's also super captivating. I really enjoyed it!
Other than that, you could look into Die Rosenbaum-Doktrin and Stimmen, but I can't really give you any recommendations on them since I have yet to read them myself...
Arbeit und Struktur is also pretty wild, but since it's his personal blog, it doesn't have any novel qualities, so I've never read it chronologically. I only occasionally flick through the pages and read whatever I lay my eyes on 💀💀💀 (this one you can also read online)
Hope I could help you, have a good time reading!!!! :-)
