As many of you know I have spent the last few years chasing an ambitious personal project. Trying to document in portraits, the #faces and #legends of #Skateboarding. Duane Peters has always been at the top of my list of subjects. He embodies the term #Legend as well as being infamous and hard to track down. With style to burn and a face that you can’t help but want to #photograph! With all this in mind I took a chance, knowing that his band @usbombs were playing a show at the Ramona Skate Ramp, that I could find him there and at the very least ask to photograph him. Truthfully I was a little intimidated! He has a certain presence about him. I forced myself to approach him and he couldn’t have been more respectful and willing to participate! The sun had already basically set though but I knew this was going to be my opportunity. We had about 5 mins of dusky light to work with and it couldn’t have been any better in hindsight. The universe works in mysterious ways. I am pretty stoked on these images. Who says you can take pictures in the dark. Thanks @dpdisaster !!
