“In the end we’ll all become stories”
- Margaret Artwood
Tumblr media
The problem with happy endings is that they’re either not really happy, or not really endings. In real life, some things get better and some things get worse. And then eventually you die.
But the point is, you pick your endings, and your beginnings. You get to choose the frame. Maybe you don’t choose what’s in the picture but you decide on the frame.

Thea 💞 I hope all is going well with you 💞
I need some album recommendations and I'm hoping you can help me out. I'm not even sure what genre to call it, but I'll try to describe it
I've been really into the Artwoods lately, Graham Bond Organization, some Alexis Korner stuff, loving Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac. I stumbled across The Remains this week and thought they sounded great too. That 1960s rhythm and blues, a little bit of beat or mod vibes to it, a little bluesy sometimes..
Have you got any suggestions for bands or albums I should check out? Those bands are the general style I'm after but I'll give anything a listen !
Thanks, lovely 🧡 and even if you can't think of much, maybe your followers might know somethin'
Kelly!♡ All is well with me, or at least the pains are even!
I always assume everyone knows more albums and bands than me (I mean, I got the Artwoods from you!:D) but I'll give it a go and maybe some kind soul have some better suggestions!
•First band that came to mind is Chicken Shack (40 Blue Fingers... 1968), I kind of think of them as Peter Green’s Mac meets Graham Bond Org. Maybe because Christine Perfect later became Mrs McVie and Alexis Korner did Chicken Shack (the song), and both Chicken Shack and GBO did First Time I Met the Blues. One more thing: Train Time (GBO) and When the Train Comes Back (Chicken Shack) is the same story told by two lovers (in my mind, no facts behind this statement!) Bye bye baby!;D ...Omg fact check revealed that Dick Heckstall-Smith (formerly of GBO and Alexis Korner's Blues Inc, later of Bluesbreakers and Colosseum) play sax on this album!
•Downliners Sect (The Sect, 1964) may not be a household name today, they’re probably most famous for turning down Steve Marriott and Rod Stewart:P Same vibe as early Stones/Pretty Things etc. but make it uncivilized and kinda punk! Ooh I just fact-checked and turns out Keef Hartley of the Artwoods played in the Sect in later years! Oh these tangled webs...
•Colosseum (Those Who Are About to Die Salute You, 1969) is another branch of off the GBO/Blues Inc.-tree taking it back into Jazz (fusion) territory. The cover and title alone makes this one worth checking out!
•In terms of Peter Green’s Fleetwood Mac I must mention Ten Years After (self titled, 1967) Described at the time as the “jazziest” of all the bands in the run for the title “the new Cream” and although I see why they didn’t snatch the crown, competition was fierce, they're my faves!
I'll leave it there, as you can tell I got hopelessly derailed (no traintime-pun intended)! Thank you so much for the ask, I have been stuck musically and really needed to rediscover these! Even if you already know these albums I'd love to hear your thoughts on them, and I hope all is well with you♡

They are playing “I’m not in love” by 10cc in the TV goddamit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And I know that song because of Skam (and it’s a romantic scene...well, before the murder happens) and gahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
My family is like “the hell is going on with you?” because I’m grinning like an idiot
Also, I found the episode where elders react to die artwood and I was like “Jajaja I know that band”
Like, damn Skam, your awesome soundtrack has taken over my life
