Let's talk about Jump GIGA
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jump GIGA covers, 2016-2024. Volumes are published (left to right per row) as Winter, Spring, Summer, and Autumn releases, with 2018 and 2019 briefly breaking the pattern by having three Winter and three Summer volumes each. 2023 has an Early Spring volume in addition to the standard four.
So, people have pointed out that the 2024 Spring cover is, uh, not like other covers.
But I've only seen comparisons to other MHA GIGA covers and MHA Weekly Shonen Jump covers. Out of curiosity for what GIGA's typical marketing aesthetics might be, I put together a comparison between all of Jump GIGA's covers to date.
And, um. Some things stand out, to say the least.
First, let me clarify what Jump GIGA even is: it is a seasonal magazine from Shonen Jump, published separate from Weekly Shonen Jump. SJ is an absolutely massive brand and they have a number of magazines serialized outside of the most well-known weekly magazine.
The content of Jump GIGA is primarily made up of one-shots and spin-offs. From the beginning, a lot of the appeal has been the cool cover illustrations which showcase special merchandise that comes with the purchase of GIGA. Usually the cover also promotes big things going on related to the WSJ series, like movie events, new games, or special figurines for sale.
The marketing aesthetic has been clear from the start: the cover consists of one core illustration and a number of ads surrounding it. Most often you get a cover illustration of a protagonist, and then ads and merch for other series, e.g. Food Wars protagonist cover with One Piece film promotion and Haikyuu!! merch.
The purpose of this marketing direction is pretty obvious. Spin-offs and one-shots are not likely to generate a ton of interest consistently, so they lure people in with the cool covers and tempting limited edition merchandise of the series they already know and love. In this way, highlighting one series with the cover and different series with the merch makes sense, because maybe somebody doesn't care about Food Wars, but they definitely want those Haikyuu!! stickers, stuff like that.
Starting from 2020's Autumn volume, you can see a shift. For the first time, basically all of the merchandise is for the cover series. The Demon Slayer manga had already ended five months earlier in May, but a two-chapter spin-off was scheduled for release in WSJ during October. This GIGA was released exactly one day before the second chapter was published and it capitalizes on the hype.
After this point, only MHA and Jujutsu Kaisen dominate the cover and the merch in quite this way, with Black Clover getting attention last volume as a way to highlight the fact that it actually switched syndication from WSJ to GIGA.
Anyway, most commonly the cover illustration is a solo shot of a core cast member (usually but not always the protagonist), and if it's not a solo, it's a big cast illustration.
Only a few covers focus on two characters, and usually it's a crossover as opposed to characters from same series sharing the limelight.
Tumblr media
Here we've got Food Wars' protagonist with the main characters from Dr. Stone and Act-Age.
The two covers most similar to the Izuku & Kacchan cover are 2022 Winter and 2023 Autumn.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Winter depicts the main trio of Blue Box in a seasonally-appropriate aesthetic. Not gonna lie, this one kinda makes me laugh--Blue Box is a romance and sports manga, and even though Christmas has a romantic air to it in Japan, instead of depicting any sort of like, hesitant but hopeful romantic energy between the heterosexual couple that actually get together later in the series, they focus primarily on the two girls being cute with the guy is a wee footnote? I mean, all right.
Meanwhile, Autumn depicts one of the protagonists with the series antagonist with a typical cool action style. I'm not very familiar with JJK, but I hear these two have got Some Drama going on, so, there's that.
The merch itself has also evolved over the years. Stickers and posters were present early on, but they have since expanded to decorative folders and now acrylic stands and coasters. 2021 Summer sees the first time the cover illustration is marketed as merch, with the Jujutsu Kaisen cover included as a decorative folder.
Right after that, the Kacchan cover of 2021 Autumn is included as a poster alongside earlier covers featuring Todoroki and Izuku.
2023 Summer's cover is a huge, wrap-around MHA cast illustration and it was published three days after chapter 396 came out, strategically timed to highlight the big shift in the final battle as Ochako vs Toga ends and All Might vs. AFO begins. Merch includes a decorative folder of the wrap-around cover and character motif stickers.
And then we get this!?
Tumblr media
A duo cover illustration where the cover art itself has been merchandised to hell and back!?!?
Acrylic stand and pin set!?
Tumblr media
Double-sided coaster showing bkdk greatest hits!? With volume 29's river scene cover!?
Tumblr media
There's also a double-sided poster featuring the Spring cover with the ninth popularity poll art and a decorative bag with the anniversary art. The cover art itself is plastered all over the volume, front, back, and spine, apparently a total of 19 times.
I honestly don't know what to say about this. It feels wild that this is actually what the cover is. Obviously it is a huge marketing push in anticipation of season 7, and Izuku and Katsuki are the most popular characters, but. it just feels... unique.
In the course of Jump GIGA's publication, this direction is kind of unprecedented. Genuinely no one could have expected this. This seems to be the first time there's been this much merch for a cover. And it was a solid fucking move, marketing-wise--it's sold out basically everywhere, everyone is talking about it. And even people who don't follow the series or ship these two can't help but comment on how strikingly romantic it looks!?
I don't know how much say Horikoshi had in what the cover was, but damn it sure feels like he drew this with immense affection. I kind of wonder if he personally pushed for it to be these two, rather than the typical solo shot, cast shot, or even a protagonist vs. antagonist shot.
I'm KO'd, man. idek if this post is useful to anybody I'm just on my hands and knees here.
Everybody knows what we're all here for, and it's these cute boys finally getting their happy ending.
EDIT NOTE: I gathered much of the information and many, many of the images in this post from a fan-made Jump Database. I neglected to say it properly when I first posted this, but special thanks to the very dedicated people who maintain that website!

Chasing that High
Tumblr media
Fandom: BTS  Pairing: MinKook (Jimin and Jungkook) Rating: Mature
Warnings: M/M, PWP, established relationship, bottom Jimin, top Jungkook, very slight rough treatment (consentual), slight breath play, standing sex, anal fingering, anal sex, cumming untouched, it is safe sex though!, JK is sweet and soft afterward
Tumblr media
Note: This was originally based on a piece of BTS fan art that a friend shared with me. She had found it on Pinterest, but was unable to find the original artist. After doing some digging, I discovered that it was not fan art, but actually an original piece by a Japanese mangaka and video game artist. The artist’s profile clearly stated that their art was not to be reposted or used in any way, even with proper credit. Of course I wanted to show respect to the original artist, so I did not include the piece.  Please also note: my friend had no idea of this originally, since the piece was found on Pinterest.

Keep reading under the cut...
“K-Kookie… be-be careful!” Jimin stuttered out as his chest was pushed against the cold wall of the dark bathroom. His small hands scrabbled for purchase on the smooth tile as he offered a half-hearted protest at the rough treatment. “Jungkook-ah, the jacket. It’s borrowed,” Jimin whined, “what if the w-wall is d-dirty?” His black slacks and boxers had been hastily undone and pushed down just below the swell of his ass, belt hanging by his thigh. Jungkook gripped tightly on the smaller man’s hip with one hand, the other had three fingers slick with lube, knuckle-deep in Jimin’s tight heat. The maknae smirked, mouthing wetly at Jimin’s neck before asking, “D’you think you’re ready for me? I think you’re stretched enough.” He punctuated his question with one last jab at the sensitive spot deep inside Jimin. Jerking at the sudden jolt of pleasure, Jimin gasped, nodding furiously, “yes, yes please Kookie. Need you inside m-me.” The others were probably looking for them, but neither man cared. They were desperate to chase their post-concert high for as long as they could. Jimin loved this - he begged Jungkook to be rough with him after shows; to take him somewhere in the venue and manhandle him. As the younger man removed his fingers, Jimin whimpered at the empty feeling, canting his hips back slightly. Jungkook’s breath stuttered as he rolled the condom on and gave himself a few tugs with his lube-covered hand. One of Jungkook’s hands spread Jimin’s ass, exposing his most private area. Jimin felt the dull tip of Jungkook’s cock press against his entrance, shuddering in anticipation. “Okay Jimin-ssi, ready?” the younger man teased, voice strained. At Jimin’s noise of consent, Jungkook pressed inside, not stopping until the front of his pelvis was flush with Jimin’s plump ass. They were still for a mere moment, before Jimin wriggled, gasping out a desperate, “Kookie, move!” The younger man wasted no time, grabbing at small hips and moving his own at a deep, steady pace. Jungkook leaned forward, using his wide chest to press Jimin even closer to the wall, forcing the breath out of him, the heat from their bodies magnified by their matching stage outfits. His warm breath tickled Jimin’s ear, “so good for me, yeah? Always taking my big cock so well. You think I can make you cum without touching your pretty cock, Jimin-ssi?” Jimin’s hole clenched and he let out a high-pitched whine in response as the maknae increased his pace. Jungkook gripped Jimin’s hips even tighter, allowing him to lift the smaller man slightly and angle his hips upward. Jimin was forced onto his tiptoes and was about to protest when Jungkook slammed back in, this new angle allowing the tip of his cock to strike directly on the bundle of nerves deep inside. Jimin wailed, hands slapping at the tile wall, pink cock twitching in response to the pleasure. “There it is,” Jungkook hummed, licking along Jimin’s neck, “let go, baby. Let me make you cum.” All Jimin could do was whine in response, his abused prostate dominating his thoughts. Through the fog of arousal, he could hear the clink of his belt against the wall and the slap of Jungkook’s balls on his ass. His hole began to clench as a familiar heat pooled low in his abdomen, his orgasm nearing. Sensing Jimin’s high approaching, Jungkook pressed him even closer to the wall, making Jimin gasp for breath. The shock of having the air forced out of his chest coupled with a particularly hard jab at his prostate had Jimin cumming with a broken shout, white ropes of cum splattering on the wall and running onto the floor. Jungkook wasn’t far behind, cumming with a low growl. After cleaning up Jungkook made an attempt at putting their stage outfits back together. Jungkook pulled Jimin into a tight hug, eyes wide and voice soft, “you okay, jagiya? I wasn’t too hard on you? Wasn’t too rough or mean?” The maknae gently tousled Jimin’s sweaty hair before picking him up, bridal style. “No Jungkookie, you were perfect. Just like always,” Jimin giggled before yawning cutely, “you know this is how I unwind after concerts. Thank you baby.” The two smiled and shared a deep kiss before Jungkook set his hyung down as if he were made of porcelain. They left the bathroom and headed down the corridor to find the rest of the team, sated and content.

Arata is an unfortunate character.
No, he is NOT!
But if we wish to make him one, then we don't need one fifth of the effort put into making Taichi the "sad" character that most fans keep labeling as "Poor Taichi", and Arata would have been then the most unfortunate character in Chihayafuru. All we need is a good mangaka (Suetsugu is!) & the intention to make him draw sympathy (the whole point), simply because Arata’s story is well packed with good material serving the purpose.
Starting with the fact that he was an almost blind child … Like “looking through a magnifying glass”, hearing voices outside but being unable to see anything~ A child who had to wear glasses from the age of 3, any writer can make this a touching story if so they wished -But Suetsugu sensei did not want to.
Growing up as a weak boy who is a letdown in everything most boys do, crying alone when he fails to fit in, disappointing his father who kept pushing him to go outside and be “normal” like all the other children all while letting go of Karuta that he was confirmed to have liked since he was very young. Writing a bit of his struggles to find a place for himself within the norms could have made readers cry a lot.
His grandfather thankfully extended his hand to him, offered him a place where he can be himself; But that too, created a situation where he maybe had to take a side & deal somehow with the other side because his grandfather & his father had a fight and he can only be torn between them. I’m no writer myself, but I can make this sentimental.
Then his father took him away to Tokyo where he had to be a part of a poor family, and not only to cancel his needs & desires (like for example having different outfits for school instead of the few he will be noticed to wear frequently) but to also work sometimes to support his parents, to wake up before school time in the early mornings when other children are probably sound asleep in their warm beds, to go outside in the cold, to earn some cash and to give it to his parents … I read some real sad stories with this idea. So yeah, Arata could have been one of the saddest characters if Suetsugu wanted him to be.
And not to mention being bullied and laughed at for not only his impoverishment (which he can hope to change) but for his identity (as a boy from Fukui speaking a “weird” dialect). He received all this with lot of patience, and tried to comfort himself by himself with his grandfather’s “gift”, how it was a refugee for him.
Any writer can make a sob story out of Arata’s unspoken loneliness & yearning for home, his grandpa & for playing his beloved Karuta properly.
Or out the fact that he couldn’t make any friends in his new school either (he was confirmed to never have real friends since his childhood through the fact that he struggled to fit in + he stayed like that even after he grew up (like Murao said), and he is not someone who doesn’t care about having friends because he was confirmed to almost worship his bond with Taichi & Chihaya, Taichi specifically even though their friendship isn’t really a comforting one; he longed for friendship however it is!)
He enjoyed that friendship nonetheless, he might even have felt like he was compensated for everything he wished for through it but he was soon robbed of all of it as he was separated from these friends & while he could still enjoy a bit of it through correspondence (at least Chihaya kept in touch), he wasn't as untroubled as needed for that because he was about to lose his precious grandfather.
And the process of losing him wasn’t something to take lightly either. Having busy (or rather negligent?) parents made him (a boy not even 14 years old) a caregiver for an old man who suffered from paralysis on the right side of his body and later dementia, not as simple as that, he had to watch what his most beloved & respected person turn into day & night, when he worked “really hard” (as stated in the manga) with his rehabilitation exercises, when he helped him with his baths, he massaged his limbs, he fed him, constantly talked to him & showed him Karuta cards to “keep him” in this world. And when it's too much for him, he goes outside the room and cries bitter tears silently, all alone! There was this person who suffered from (PTSD) for years because their sick aunt didn’t recognize them (they were her favorite nephew before & they were 17 yo at the time), this person couldn’t visit her since & couldn’t see her before she died & they developed a fear of “getting too close” & of seeing sick people, they had to seek long & serious therapeutic help. And Arata actually suffered from PTSD for over a year & half, any psychologist can easily recognize that from the fact that he quit Karuta, refused to touch & hated to see the cards (I stress on this), how he answered Chihaya when she called him, how the calm & patient him (that we knew from his childhood) was agitated & treated her rudely when she insisted on playing a match. And it was all confirmed in Arata’s last words in the same chapter: “I wanted to see you, I always had, but I didn’t want you to see me like this” (in the official tr), he knew that he wasn’t himself (contrary to what Taichi thought, his friend who decided to abandon him instead of trying to help. Chihaya still had faith in him but Taichi was louder -ch10)
Still, thanks to Chihaya, Arata was back to his beloved Karuta, though we all questioned how much fun he really felt while playing again, how much of him was involved with the game now. And eventually, he himself expressed the pressure (not the fun) he felt while playing. What took his passion away, what turned the feelings of a Karuta baka into mere obligation, this also is good content for an emotionally charged story, it only needs the intention of the writer.
And he shone in the world of Karuta. YET he was never “proud” of it, that was never received as anything special. When he comes back home, none really cares (or at least, none shows any enthusiasm), he goes to the western-challenger qualifiers and his parents won’t even go watch, won’t even prepare some food for him, he comes back home late & finds none, and prepares everything by himself (apart from Yu’s help). His parents pray for his defeat, meaning that his DREAM to become Meijin/be strongest in Karuta doesn’t mean much to them, and he knows it, and he was never shown telling them the news like when you want to share a happy one. Arata’s mother -before giving up after acknowledging Arata’s dedication- wanted his defeat even though there was enough money to support him, the lack of money being the excuse she & her husband claimed to be the reason of their lack of support.
The support system Arata lacks isn’t only in his family. Since the death of his grandfather he seems to stand alone in Karuta too. Murao was the only one who spared some time for him but only after he realized how “alone” he was and took pity on him. Murao's realization implies that the training Arata was doing at the Nagumo society didn’t really count for what he really needed. Kuriyama sensei (being expected by fans to be the “Harada” in Arata’s side) was almost useless & he himself expressed his confusion about what to do with him & how to help him. We never saw him particularly guide him in any way either. "Experiences" & "taking chances" were two factors that helped Mizusawa members for example to grow a lot, but these chances are doors without knobs & we know that they were opened for them by adults who were taking care of them in a way or another + being friends ensured that they encouraged each other then proceeded with every idea they got to learn & experience more. Arata lacks both these sources (adults around him rather burdened him with their expectations) so he kept training on his own mostly & we saw how it felt frustrating to him to be relying only on his solo training & an "image" encouraged by a long-dead teacher, he realized the toll of lacking real opponents in practice with whom he can measure his abilities & correct his mistakes to grow stronger. Support can also be emotional. Did Arata ever receive particular emotional support? I can only remember panels where the people worried for him kept watching him from afar while he dealt with it on his own.
Yu was an exception but even her support was written in a way suggesting that Arata was prepared to go on without it. Because with time, Arata learnt to "not expect much" which is also a very interesting trope for a sad story.
And he was described as “a lonely player on top” but this was never elaborated to show how it felt like to be one for Arata himself. This idea is also brilliant for melancholy if the author wanted fans to sympathize with Arata but she didn't go beyond praising Chihaya who could somehow reach him & Shinobu chan.
And while playing on his own (or working part time to support himself), taking care of himself, he met his two precious friends again (they were the only selfish desire Arata has openly expressed throughout the series). But what he felt is that he was left behind & that he was the only one so far away. And he was. They got to experience so many things he didn’t, they made new friends & new bonds & he didn’t, they got closer to each other & he didn’t… At the end he went back to be the outsider & them the two old childhood friends. If the author wrote just a little bit more about these, if she highlighted these facts they could have made a good drama.
Love is the main reason Taichi is "felt for" (because he progressed in karuta but not in Love ..not yet at least). Arata is also a part of the love triangle in Chihayafuru, and if we try to summarize it with the intention of making it sad, then let's go, there is enough to say for that, we just need a good writer (which I'm not sadly). Still in short: Arata seems to have started to develop feelings for Chihaya a long time ago but he had to keep that in check because he thought she was dating Taichi & he kept his distance out of respect for that assumed relationship even though he craved at least connecting with his old friends. When he came closer, Chihaya was interested in him but he never knew, the enthusiasm she showed him was not different from how she is with everyone, no, Taichi received special treatment, while for him, every time he tries to say something to her he is cut off somehow. Everything seemed to be against them getting close. Later Chihaya seemed to have ultimate fun with Taichi too, maybe that was the only thing he thought he could give her, now she didn't need it. Maybe he had that thought again when she praised his game against Harada sensei that's why he confessed but soon, She is once again so far away, she seemed to need Taichi to function properly, he understood that & he used that to cheer her up in her most important tournament. He wanted badly to play with her again to only be totally iced, he couldn't even be seen by her, he was so far away, she belonged to where he wasn't part of (& even her friend kana found a way to express her disapproval of him) Can we not make a drama out of this? Or out of his stuttering, awkwardness & introversion? Or maybe the fact that his parents don't understand him? And did anyone alse feel that in most of Taichi's mother's appearances, we got this feeling that Taichi is a son who should be cared for while when Arata's parents appeared, many times, we can feel how Arata was used to highlight their feelings as individuals & he was drawn there as the member of the family who had to pay attention to that? Anyway, every single one of these points alone is very good material for a "tearjerker" so what about all of them combined? because they are all facts from Arata's reality.
Again, all we need is a good writer (we have it) & the intention to make it that way which isn't there. Suetsugu decided instead to put double the effort to make Taichi the "sorrowful/anguished" one because Arata is not a character written to feel sorry for or to commiserate. He is rather written for the most part of the manga as an inspiring one, an aspiration, to be a drive & a goal. So despite having all the above circumstances, he is instead written as a character who keeps to himself, doesn't complain, hides his hardships, makes it seem that he fine when he notices that someone is watching, tries to focus on what he has & be happy with it however little or simple. That's why it's easy for him to forget & forgive, easy for him to recover & stand up again because there are other characters who need him there as an example, who think that he is perfectly fine so they should only focus on themselves and thus, Bildungsroman can be used for them. And finally- wait, what were Taichi's problems again?

In honor of the New Year and as of right now, three people who have voted (3 for Yuki, and 1 for Emi and Joan), I’m letting you guys see character designs more in style for their respective shows with some more information! Remember, questions are encouraged and you can vote multiple people if your interest isn’t cleanly split!
Tumblr media
Yuki is actually half Russian on her mother’s side! She’s also completely fluent Japanese, English, and Russian!
Her quirk is called Winter’s Aria, which has a base form of mutation but can branch out into an emitter and transformation type. In short, her internal body is nearly completely frozen, maintaining a temperature range between 27-29 Fahrenheit or -2.7 to -1.6, which is the mutation part. She has a health usage license to maintain her body temperature so long as she does not damage or injure people or property using the emitter properties of her quirk. The emitter part allows her to control the atmosphere and ice in various forms, in action this allows her to create ice and control these elements so long as they maintain a cold temperature. She cannot control water unless it approaches freezing or below. Her control can be strengthened when she sings, which she rarely does with an audience due to social anxiety, but can accomplish great feats. Such as creating a polar vortex, but it would require a great amount of vocal and emotional power to do so. Transformation turns her whole body to ice and lowers the ambient temperature as a matter of course.
Her quirk is a combination of her parents and their grandparents.
Mother: Frozen Heart (nearly identical to Yuki but somewhat weaker and without the musical part).
Her father: Winter’s Heart (his internal organs are frozen and he exudes a cold temperature uncontrollably but can control and create ice directly from his body)
Her mother: Seasonal Change (she can control the atmosphere around her in a limited function, usually generating winds or altering the clouds, which allows her to instinctively know the exact atmospheric weathers)
Father: Musicality (The ability to create a musical in his environment through song, often with unintended consequences)
His Mother: Perfect pitch (Exactly as it sounds, she can sing perfectly any note within reasonable human range)
His Father: Musical Theatre (He can compel his environment to become a musically inclined environment, though not always guaranteeing that people sing)
Tumblr media
Emi!
This is her first wanted poster for the crime of stealing an emerald from a jeweler’s workshop that was owned by a Celestial Dragon to be set into a new necklace, hence the high price. But she absolutely insists that it wasn’t theft since the emerald wasn’t the Celestial Dragon’s in the first place. And yes, I am avoiding drawing their full bodies for the time being in the One Piece art style until later!
As a fun fact, she doesn’t actually know her name, so she simply shortened her name from “Emerald”. And as a bonus, she can create either two fans or an umbrella for combat and defense. The fans can create blades of energy and the umbrella can fire either a beam or shots of energy. I repeat, this isn’t a crossover with Steven Universe, but it is inspired by the ideas in that story. An astute reader will know why Emi is firm in her belief that she didn’t steal the emerald, but is very insistent on not showing her features unless absolutely necessary. No one knew she was sentient before this point and it’s not due to a devil fruit, either. She’s curious and enjoys fixing things, usually after taking them apart.
Tumblr media
Joan!
This is her first bounty poster as well! You’ll notice that this poster has her name wrong! That’s because the marines mistakenly thought her name was ‘John’ and took her height and pre-teen frame as an indication she was male. The ‘Spade’ was added since ‘John’ is a very common name in the hopes of setting her apart from other wanted pirates who happened to be named John. The Spades did not take this well, though Joan thought it was humorous, so they took to loudly calling her ‘Little Queen’ to fit the card theme of the ship and crew. This exact picture was taken when she was pushing a barrel onto the ship. The bounty is exceptionally low for the Grand Line and the Spade crew at the time, because her position on the crew was unknown and she hadn’t been seen fighting in any capacity. Her position in fact being assistant cook where she helped prep and cooked herself from time to time, a necessity for a crew with a prolific eater like Ace on board. She also stuck close to Ace to prevent him from falling overboard or into his food when he has a narcolepsy attack, being one of the few who can manage not to be stabbed when reaching near his food. She does not willingly fight, but she does know some self defense from both her father and official classes at the private school she used to go to.
Her talents lie in the field of cooking and knifework with a soft spot for food sculptures and desserts. She is also quite intelligent and skipped grades in part because of her prolific height (as she otherwise would have stuck out in her classes to the detriment of her social life, which suffered anyway because of her height and appearance). She doesn’t have a devil fruit, but her curse personifies emotion into objects or physical transformations, of which her current one is a combination of hunger and fear.
As a New Years bonus, here’s the pictures I mentioned previously in the style of their respective shows! Mostly, I haven’t gotten one for Calypso yet since she’s not a wanted criminal, if ever. But I will have a fun fact for her at the end!
Tumblr media
Originally, Halia was going to be called Joan too! But I decided two characters with the same name was a bit confusing and went with a Hawaiian name meaning “in remembrance of a loved one” after her late father, who died before she was born. Her step-father does not like her mixed heritage and her mother agreed to refer to her as “Hailey” on most cases so she wouldn’t stick out too much as a child in Galar, which only mostly worked.
Tumblr media
Isabella looking appropriately classy and, as a fun fact, I didn’t realize how simple Ouran’s style was when I started this picture. Everything looks like it’s cotton and there’s hardly any jewelry to be seen, which is probably as a limitation of the mangaka and also because it’s from the POV of Haruhi, who doesn’t care about such things. So I literally didn’t have any easy to find references for silk, gold, or gemstones.
And Isabella is actually childhood friends with Haruhi, as her godfather was a work friend with Haruhi’s mother before she passed who kept in contact with Ranka because of Haruhi and Isabella’s friendship. Isabella acts like an annoying older sister to Haruhi who is ready to spoil her, if only Haruhi didn’t object literally every time she tries. This includes wiping away her debt to the host club, which Haruhi feels honor-bound to fulfill despite the dubious circumstances, so yes, the plot will still happen.
And for Calpyso! She actually does have a devil fruit! The Lonely-Lonely devil fruit, which in essence, can make her unnoticeable. It’s considered cursed since most fail to control the fruit and die from natural circumstances, usually starvation or illness from going completely unnoticed by anyone. Like, one got stranded on an island with no food sources and another was accidentally shot and only had their body discovered after the fact. It renders the user a ghost of their world, earning her the name “Ghost of Paradise Lost” on her file in the Marines, and when utilized to the full effect, lets her walk through objects. With careful control and physical contact, she can bring others with her into this state, but they must not draw attention to themselves (talking loudly or touching other people) as the effect is lessened to a sort of mild ‘notice-me-not’ type of deal. But they can’t be taken with her to pass through physical objects or disappear completely like she can herself. She enjoys scaring people with her fruit powers and wears sea stone earrings when needed to ensure she remains mostly noticed in conversations or meetings, particularly if those involved have trigger fingers. She also carries a truly prolific amount of knives. Just in case.

“Hellooooo guys,” Shouyou yells into the camera. “So good to be back in front of the camera with Kodzuken!” He excitedly waves into the camera. He tilts his head to look at Kenma, who’s sitting next to him, feeling a little shy.
Shouyou nudges Kenma in his sides. It almost seems like Shouyou’s the one with the popular channel
“Hello.” Kenma continues to be shy and Shouyou giggles. “I brought Sho with me today. As you can see.”
Shouyou notices Kenma is very stiff today. He is hesitant if he should grab Kenma’s hand under the table. But it’s resting on Kenma’s thigh and Shouyou doesn’t know if he can go there.
Kenma found out about the video. It was bound to happen. It’s not like Shouyou could have hidden forever, the channel being Kenma’s and all—and the video getting a million views in 24 hours. The fans apparently couldn’t get enough of it. It was only a five minute video, but it exposed Kenma so much that he hadn’t talked about it to Shouyou at all. Except for Kenma sending Shouyou a text with “I can’t believe you’d expose me like that”. Shouyou was hurt. But it had been his own fault. And expose? Would that mean more than Shouyou had previously thought? Except he couldn’t bring it up right then, because Kenma would ignore even his simple ‘Hi’ and ‘Hello’ texts. Kenma never took down the video, though.
Today, luckily, Kenma called Shouyou again. Shouyou’s heart exploded when he got the call and rushed over to his place immediately.
“We’re doing a live Q&A session today,” Kenma said. “So if you’ve got questions, start sending them our way in the chatbox, and we’ll see what we can answer.”
“We are going to try and answer a lot of them!” Shouyou announced happily. His smile hasn’t died down yet and he hopes Kenma notices. “So start sending them in!”
They stare at the screen for a good minute. Shouyou is kind of well-aware that Kenma is sitting next to him. He notices from the screen that Kenma is barely sitting in front of the screen, and that it’s all of Shouyou’s body that is taking up two-third of the screen. He scoots to the right a little, tugging onto Kenma’s shirt, signaling that he can move a little more to the middle of the screen. Kenma simply moves along.
Shouyou moves his eyes back to the screen and smiles as he sees the comments welcoming them. A couple of the comments are also already sending in questions that they want to know.
—sho-kun so good to see you again!! —i missed you both!!!! —Kodzuken spare us a smile please. —say, Sho, would you like to be famous? —what’s you guys’ favorite holiday: Beach, Mountain, City? —Last film you watched? —first ride to go to in a theme park? —have you guys ever been to Disney World?
“Woah,” Kenma says.
“That’s a lot of questions already, you guys!” Shouyou comments, giggling and not stopping to read.
—which of you two is the laziest? —What are your shoe sizes? —who is the better dancer —Italian or Mexican food?
Shouyou can’t help but see the questions pop up that ask them… more private things… if Shouyou can call it that. It makes him uncomfortable.
—are you guys dating yet?? —please tell me you guys are dating. —I NEED THIS INFORMATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! —sho-kun we all know you like kenma and he likes you —just say yes to dating already ffs
“Okay, okay,” Kenma says, “calm down. Let’s start answering a couple first.”
“Yes!” Shouyou chimes in, trying his best to ignore those comments.
“Sho, this one’s for you.” Kenma moves a little closer to the screen to read better. “Sho-kun, it reads, how long does it take you to get your hair like that?” Kenma turns to Shouyou, waiting for an answer.
Shouyou laughs. “None! If I use a comb or a brush it will get super fluffy and that’s not what I want. So, I don’t do anything about it!” he answers with a bright smile.
—THAT’S SO CUTE —i wish my hair worked that way —sho-kun so cute uwu
“Kodzuken!” Shouyou says after reading a question. “This one asks what your first job was.”
“My first job?” Kenma moves his eyes away from the camera, thinking. “My first job… I don’t really worked somewhere… I started this channel right after high school graduation…”
“That’s so cool!” Shouyou comments. “I didn’t know that. So cool,” Shouyou repeats.
“Sho, this persons wants to know what your dream job is.”
“My dream job, huh…” Shouyou starts grinning and Kenma looks at him, questioningly. “I don’t think even you know what my dream job is, Kodzuken.” Kenma’s eyes widen and he opens his mouth slightly, thinking he can immediately answer, but he closes his mouth as quickly as he had opened it. “Do you?” Shouyou asks him again.
“I… don’t think I do.” Kenma doesn’t know what face to make… He doesn’t know his dream job and Shouyou is laughing at Kenma’s cute reaction.
Shouyou moves to the camera. “What do you think my dream job is? Tell us in the comments and the side who guesses first can get a Sho-special!” Shouyou laughs softly. He doesn’t know yet what the Sho-special will be, but he’ll think of something.
While Kenma puts on his thinking face, Shouyou turns to scroll through the comments.
—sho-kun so cute www —i want to know what the sho-special is —Sho’s dream job is probably something in an office — Sho!! I bet you’d want to be a teacher! —@ that person saying Sho would work in a office, ur dead wrong www —sports player —social worker??????? —swimmer as they do in free!! that would be cool —mangaka… no i can’t see it —sports……. —NO A POLICE OFFICER —the sports comment makes me wonder too —yeah look at his biceps —sho’s biceps are unreal —wwww kodzuken could take some lessons from sho
Shouyou laughs loudly. Kenma looks up from his thoughts and Shouyou points at the last comment. Kenma laughs softly too as his eyes go from Shouyou’s biceps to Kenma’s biceps. Yup, Shouyou’s were at least twice the size of Kenma’s.
At least.
Shouyou looks back at the comments. There’s one particularly comment that catches his eyes and that he can’t let go. That’s funny, he thinks.
“Someone came very close just now,” he mentions, eyeing Kenma’s reaction and the comments at the same time. Kenma’s eyes widen and he pushes his chair closer to the screen. He starts scrolling up and down the comment section. His squinty eyes make Shouyou laugh: he probably can’t find the answer.
“Sho, I can’t find it. None of these seem like something you would want to have as a dream job…” Kenma says, his eyes still plastered to the screen.
“I didn’t say the exact answer is on there, I just said that one of them came really close,” Shouyou replies, a little mocking towards Kenma.
Kenma huffs. “That’s unfair.” A little pout formed its way to its mouth.
“Haha! It’s not unfair. I’ll tell you later. Maybe,” he adds after a short stop when Kenma looked up at him, with an even bigger pout. “Anyways!” Shouyou wants to continue. A different question caught his eyes just now and he can’t wait to hear Shouyou’s answer.
“Anyways what?”
“I saw a question I want you to answer.”
“What is it.”
“Kodzuken, tell me and the viewers. What is your favorite game?”
Shouyou looks at Kenma as his face becomes pale. His frown becomes very deep and Shouyou immediately thinks back to that time. Kenma’s face is painted the exact same way as the secret-not-so-secret-anymore video that he took of an asleep Kenma. Just like that time, Kenma is muttering words that sound like “what is my favorite game?” but not in a complete sentence at all. Shouyou laughs loudly.
“It’s okay, Kodzuken, you can stop now,” Shouyou says, laughing with his hand in front of his mouth. “It’s okay, let’s not do this you to another time.”
A couple comments on the screen tell him there are people who haven’t seen the video yet, and other comments going wild to the soft reference Shouyou made just now. Kenma’s frown tells Shouyou he isn’t done thinking yet and Shouyou has to move closer to him to forcibly remove his hands from his hair and stop the frowning. “If you keep on frowning you’re going to get those ugly lines in your cute forehead, Kodzuken.” Shouyou smiles softly at the boy in front of him, who looks up shockingly.
“What did you say just now?”
“You’re going to get ugly frown lines in your forehead if you keep up frowning this deep,” Shouyou repeats.
“Oh.”
Kenma eyes him and Shouyou is confused. Had he said something odd just now? He doesn’t think he did. Shouyou moves back to the big screen in front of them and reads a couple more comments that are directed at him out loud and answers them.
Kenma is silent.
He doesn’t see Kenma staring at him, but he can definitely feel his eyes burning in his back. Shouyou tries to ignore it, but it’s nearly impossible to do so. He just wants to turn around, face Kenma, and embrace him in the biggest hug he can. But he can’t. Because they are currently live. And that is the only reason, Shouyou tells himself.
Shouyou leans back after answering around twenty quick questions by himself and makes sure he can share the screen with Kenma again.
“I’m hungry,” Shouyou mentions. “What should we eat tonight?”
—ahh are you guys going to eat together? —i wish sho would cook for me —bet sho is the better cook lol
Shouyou laughs at the comments. “I’m probably only the better cook, because Kodzuken only stays behind his computer twenty-four seven.”
—they would be so cute, cooking together —ugh dream couple —cant they stop being so unbearably cute —cute ahhhhhhhh —blushy kodzuken again pls —sho-kun dream husband
Shouyou can’t help but feel uncomfortable again. He looks at Kenma, but he invested himself in a detail with his Switch.
“Guys! Send us some more Q&A questions,” Shouyou asks of the crowd, and it makes Kenma focus his thoughts back to the camera. He probably got a little distracted just now, and Shouyou has to withhold a giggle.
“Yes. Shoot.” Kenma raises his knees to rest his chin on them.
So cute.
The new comments are innocent at first.
—who is the bigger foodie —Favorite cafe in Tokyo? —which animal do you want to be? —any weird habits you guys have? —Last film you watched (together)? —kodzuken what’s the color of your eyes hihi —i still want to Know what sho’s dream job is —kodzuken when are you going back to black hair —favorite childhood memory please.
And Shouyou laughs at them. Just as he finally wants to answer the ‘dream job’ question, his eyes catch… more uncomfortable questions. And not just questions.
—when did you start dating —who kissed first —kisssssss —Say I love you to each other please. —when did you start sleeping together —share a kiss come on —come on. stop pretending you guys are just friends. —No need to hide any longer <3 —know we ship you guys!! —kiss kiss kiss kiss kiss kiss —the act is over we know you guys ain’t ‘just friends’ —act lovey dovey please. —come out already
The last few comments made Shouyou swallow loudly. He blinks a few times and doesn’t know how to respond. He wants to say something, anything, but words aren’t coming out.
Kenma speaks up before he can say anything. “I think it’s time to end the live. Good talking to you all again. See you next time.” Kenma’s voice isn’t his usual monotone voice. It’s even more low and flat and Shouyou barely recognizes him. He watches Kenma closely as he shuts down the live, shuts down his computer and makes his way to leave the room.
“Kenma!” Shouyou calls. He stands up to rush after Kenma, who already passed the door. “Kenma…"
“Shouyou,” Kenma interrupts anything Shouyou wants or wanted to say.
“Yes?” he answers, hesitating, afraid of what Kenma is going to say.
“I think it’s better for you to go home now, instead of staying over for dinner.”
Shouyou can’t see Kenma’s expression, but his voice said enough.
“Oh.”
“Sorry.”
“No… No. It’s okay. Really.”
Kenma watches Shouyou as he packs his things together, ready to leave. He leads him to his front door and wants to apologize again, but Shouyou stops him.
“It’s okay, Kenma. Don’t apologize.”
He sets his foot outside the door and right as he wants to walk away, he turns around one more time.
“It was pro-volleyballer, by the way,” Shouyou mutters. “My dream job.”
Kenma laughs, his face smushed between the doorway. He looks cute. “That’s… How could I not have guessed that. That’s so typically you.”
“Let’s talk about it another time, okay?” Shouyou laughs, too. His eyes are squinted at Kenma and he tries to hide his tears.
He quickly walks away.

BnHA Chapter 128: He’s Hired
Previously on BnHA: Deku’s bizarre attempt to make Nighteye crack a smile resulted in abject failure. Never one to give up that easily, Deku appealed to Nighteye’s All Might otaku side instead. Surprisingly, this attempt was convincing enough that Nighteye agreed to give Deku a chance. That is, if he can pass a test consisting of “swipe this stamp out of my hand within the next three minutes.” Deku powered up full cowl and gave it a go, but as it turns out, Nighteye’s quirk lets him literally see the future and predict what his opponent will do next. So. That made things a bit challenging. Nighteye declared that Mirio should have been the successor to One for All instead of Deku, and that it was the one decision he didn’t agree with All Might on. Rather than getting down on himself, Deku got fucking fired up and charged at Nighteye again with the intent of proving that he -- the successor All Might chose -- is worthy as fuck.
Today on BnHA: Deku tries to beat Nighteye’s foresight with speed, but has no luck. As a last-ditch effort he starts throwing random shit at him, but Nighteye still manages to dodge and Deku ends up slamming into a wall. Nighteye announces that the three minutes are up, and berates Deku for getting sloppy in the end. Deku says he was trying not to damage the vintage All Might poster on Nighteye’s wall. Nighteye is all “...” and realizes that Deku purposely went out of his way to avoid wrecking any of that sweet All Might merch, even while bouncing around Gran Torino style. This actually does win a chuckle from him, and Deku ends up being hired. Nighteye reveals that he planned to hire him all along, because he thinks that by showing Deku “the real world” of the pros, he can convince him to give up OFA. Deku accepts the internship. The next day, he and Mirio go out on patrol and run into an adorable little girl who, spoiler alert, turns out to be on the run from none other than this arc’s main villain, Overhaul.
(As always, all comments not marked with an ETA are my unspoiled reactions from my first readthrough of this chapter. I’ve read up through chapter 155 now, so any ETAs will reflect that.)
before we get started, I would just like to say that when Bakugou Katsuki, the most arrogant boy who ever lived (and someone not particularly known for his great fondness of Deku), learned that All Might had chosen Deku as his successor, he did not think, “well then All Might was fucking wrong.” actually, he immediately started questioning whether everything he’d ever believed was wrong instead, and subsequently accepted Deku for the first time ever. because that’s how real All Might bros do it, Nighteye. you punk
anyway
Deku doesn’t know how far Nighteye can see into the future, so his plan is just “attack him really fast and a lot”
he’s mad lol
Tumblr media
incidentally, the title is “Boy Meets...” and honestly my TGIF-raised brain is gonna be really disappointed if it’s anything other than “world”
(ETA: I really don’t know what this was referring to. the most accurate title would be “boy meets traumatized little girl”, but that’s probably not what he was going for?)
so Nighteye’s accusing Deku of being a Gran Torino ripoff, and yeah, he’s got a point
he says that so long as the conditions are met, he can see everything Deku is going to do, no matter how far into the future it is. surely there must be a limit though, but okay
he says in two minutes’ time, Deku will be doubled over in grief, “neither seal nor paper in hand”
lol now I’m trying to think of scenarios where this could be the case and yet Deku still wins. ...
and now Nighteye is commenting on how frustrated Deku seems to be
he says the first thing he should have learned from All Might is that heroes should never show worry or doubt
ugh he’s so goddamn smug. but also tbh I can see why
Tumblr media Tumblr media
come on Deku you need to deliver here
oh my god
Tumblr media
for a minute I thought he was crying here. Deku, bud. deep breaths. don’t let it get to you
I feel like we’re seeing more and more impatience in him since that fight with Kacchan. he has more drive than ever lately
oh shit now he’s grabbing hold of a bookcase. well Nighteye did give him permission to use whatever
interestingly, this is the first time Nighteye has had an even remotely surprised-looking panel
Tumblr media
now Deku’s hurling the whole fucking shelf of books at him lol
Tumblr media
(╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻
lol he’s apologizing, “but you said you didn’t care what happened to the room”
oh SHIT everyone DEKU IS USING HIS BIG HERO BRAIN
Tumblr media Tumblr media
it seriously wouldn’t surprise me if he was never actually quirkless and it turned out “Big Hero Brain” has been his real quirk all along
OH MY GOD HE’S SO CLOSE
Tumblr media
he’s fucking screaming “I AM ALL MIGHT’S DISCIPLE”
but Nighteye closed his fist and whipped his hand out of the way in the nick of time. goddammit
but he can’t attack though! he promised he wouldn’t. so Deku, just keep him on the defensive
Nighteye says whatever he sees didn’t change. Deku losing? I guess?
what the
Tumblr media
not going to lie, this gave me Yamamoto flashbacks. fucking ouch
somehow, even though he just brained himself, Deku’s saying he can still fight
but Nighteye cuts him off and says the three minutes are up. well shit
I guess all we can do is hope Nighteye saw enough of Deku during those three minutes -- and whatever additional future-seeing that he also did? -- to pique his interest in taking him under his wing after all
come to think, every single one of Deku’s mentors thus far has dismissed him on first glance. even All Might initially wrote him off. Aizawa was this close to expelling him on the first day. Gran at least had a little faith in him because he trusted Toshinori’s judgment (even though he acted like he didn’t lol), but even he was surprised by what Deku was actually capable of. so I suppose it’s only fitting for this pattern to continue
-- oh wow
Tumblr media
are you telling me that you gave yourself a fucking concussion because you didn’t want to risk damaging this asshole’s vintage poster
and now Nighteye’s realizing that Deku left all of his All Might shit intact
he seems surprised? something else you didn’t predict, huh
wow now he’s so impressed that the whole fucking art style changed
Tumblr media
(ETA: so this is one of those chapters that Horikoshi wasn’t able to finish before it initially ran in Jump, which seems to happen every so often. Fallen Angels released an updated scanlation using the volume scans, so I’ll use those whenever possible.
here’s the remastered version of this scene, for starters
Tumblr media
I like how remastered Deku has upgraded from sighing to cursing. it suits him much better. you know when people say “I’m not mad, I’m just disappointed?” this is the opposite of that. he’s not disappointed. he’s mad. I think it does an even better job of showing how much he really wanted this, and how hard he’s been pushing himself.)
well. there’s that scene that Nighteye foresaw, I guess
I don’t know why, but all of Nighteye’s standing around and predicting stuff only to suddenly get surprised now at this juncture makes me really want to see him star in a cereal commercial. “Sir Nighteye, you can see into the future but can you see why kids love Cinnamon Toast Crunch?” “hmm. [examining a piece of cereal] its wrinkles are approximately 0.6 mm.” “NO YOU STUPID FUCK, IT’S CUZ THERE’S CINNAMON AND SUGAR SWIRLED OVER EVERY BITE!!!”
like, can’t you just picture it though
anyway. look what Deku made him do
Tumblr media
(ETA: for some reason Horikoshi added shading to his face but took away the speech bubble saying “kuku.” so just to clarify, this is indeed a laugh)
that was a chuckle y’all. because Deku is just so fucking ridiculous
now Mirio and Bubble are barging in all, “pardon us.” and again the art style has gotten all sketchbooky. is this Nighteye’s quirk vision?? or just Horikoshi taking artistic license because he feels like it. who can say
(ETA: yep, once again, this is just what happens when the mangaka doesn’t have the chapter done by the deadline)
lol omg
Tumblr media
“I like him now”
fuck me look at Deku’s face though, I’m fucking dying
he’s all “BUT I DIDN’T PASS YOUR TEST?”
and Nighteye’s all “[finger wag] ah, but I never said I wouldn’t hire you if you couldn’t”
do you know, I actually went back to look at it. and I guess, technically it’s true. but he sure did fucking imply it lol
anyways, Mirio knows what’s what
Tumblr media
what the fuck, now Nighteye says he already made the decision to hire Deku the moment he heard he was coming there
is he full of shit or is this true
but he says it doesn’t mean that he’s acknowledged him yet
he says that the people aren’t waiting for a faint light, but a dazzling one. and he intends to make it clear who is suited for that power, even if it means going against All Might’s will
you know, even if I don’t agree with him, I have to admit that dazzling light line is pretty good
anyway. so Deku understands that Nighteye intends for this to be his first taste of the “real” world, with the expectation that he’ll realize he’s not cut out to be the next successor after all and will voluntarily give up OFA. since the only way it can be passed on is if he willingly transfers it to someone else
haha lol. fat chance of that
anyway!! so Deku’s clutching the stamp and says he would be honored to accept the internship offer
and now we’re cutting to day one of the internship. wow. that was fast
(ETA: how is it that the pacing in this arc began so efficiently, and then ten chapters from now we literally spend 15 whole pages entering a fucking building. wtf happened)
they’re setting out to do patrol and surveillance. who are they surveilling?
Deku lucked out, he gets to go with Mirio rather than Nighteye’s condescending ass
fucking look at all this shit Mirio is wearing that’s just going to come sliding right off the instant he quirks too hard
Tumblr media
(ETA: you’ll hear more ranting about this in chapter 139, but it sure is some bullshit that Mirio gets a special costume woven from his hair or whatever and Momo and Hagakure can’t get the same thing. that’s very convenient indeed)
Mirio what does your chestplate say? it looks like “1,000,000” but that’s so weird lol
Bubble explains to Deku that Nighteye’s office is in the middle of an investigation -- !!
holy shit, that’s right. Nighteye’s agency was investigating Overhaul!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“odd actions”, like meeting up with Shigaraki Tomura and blowing up one of his main guys. odd stuff like that
Bubble’s explaining that “Chisaki” (whom I’m just gonna keep referring to as Overhaul even if Deku doesn’t know his villain name yet) has started reassembling the yakuza groups, and that they recently made contact with the League of Villains
Deku’s all “the League of Villains?!” yeah, you know the guys. kidnapped your boyfriend, creeped on you at the mall, etc.
apparently they haven’t been able to get direct evidence of him plotting evil. wow, really?? his quirk isn’t exactly subtle
but Nighteye says they can’t treat them like villains until they get proof of criminal activity
well then, putting Deku on the job is the right fucking call, let me tell you right now. bad guys love to do evil shit around this kid. you’ll have your evidence before the day is out
semi-unrelated side note, have you guys heard Overhaul’s theme from the OST? because it’s fucking sick. like, if you’re looking for kind of a Naruto-meets-trap-beat vibe, this is your fucking jam right here
(ETA: honestly his theme is too good for him. he doesn’t deserve such a badass theme)
anyway so now we are cutting to a group of people, and then to two panels of people’s feet
who even knows who these people are, but one of them is barefoot
it looks like a little girl...?
what the
Tumblr media
ohhhhhhh dang
okay, so. I recently couldn’t resist AO3’s siren song and did some careful fic scouting. I was very careful, so I’ve managed to avoid pretty much anything potentially spoilery thus far -- except for one thing. I know that there is a little girl character named Eri. I don’t know who she is or what’s her deal but I know she exists. and she’s a little girl
so like. is this her...?
by the way Mirio is fucking oblivious huh. just continues to walk along with his heroic patrol posture, totally unfazed
awww
Tumblr media
Eri’s kind of adorable??
Deku’s apologizing to her -- “my bad, that must have hurt.” even though she ran into him. always so damned smooth, Deku
she looks really upset though
ohhhhhhhhhhhh shit
Tumblr media
hahahahahaha OH FUCK
okay so I immediately have several questions and several more immediate concerns. is she related to Overhaul?? is she a hostage? are those bandages around her arms for a reason??
(ETA: MOTHERFUCKER DON’T GET ME STARTED. THIS IS THE MOST FUCKED UP THING I’VE READ IN A MANGA SINCE NINA AND HER FUCKING DOG)
she seems really scared and I think it’s because she thinks she’s about to get in trouble with Overhaul. and like, I don’t fucking want him to come one step closer to her lol. and I wonder if Deku’s hero instincts will prevent him from letting her go back with him
no wonder they had that whole “we can’t treat them like villains without evidence” thing. so now this becomes a case of “do I compromise the investigation in order to protect a scared child from potential abuse even though I’m not sure?”
and I think there’s only one answer to that question, particularly for Deku
well buddy, good luck with that internship
 bonus:
 just some random end-of-volume stuff
apparently Stain placed 29th in the character popularity poll. can you believe he got 25 fucking votes while Best Jeanist got only 22. I don’t fucking understand people
8 people voted for Bakugou’s mom and these people are good and smart and handsome and I like them
somehow Yoarashi got only 14 votes. I seriously thought he’d be more popular than that. I guess that’s what happens when you cross Todoroki and make him fail the provisional license exam. I still love you Yoarashi
the 23 people who voted Mineta as their favorite character should be automatically placed on a sex offender registry
Aoyama only got 17 votes and it’s a travesty. unappreciated in his time
and there is a fantastic page where the remaining class A kids who finished outside of the top 10 get to do their own cosplay two-page spread. sans Mineta, which is even better
Tumblr media
Tokoyami is just. I have no words
somehow Mina even managed to work that 90s leopard print into her damn ren faire outfit. this girl will not be fucking deterred
what the fuck is this prototype Mirio hair
Tumblr media
what a fucking liar. don’t act like you didn’t fully intend to give him the Tintin hair the entire time. are you trying to avoid being sued or what
(ETA: so is this why Mirio has a different hairstyle in every single flashback? can this be considered a running gag? because it’s amazing)
lastly, Nighteye apparently has green hair just like Deku, which I did not see coming. All Might what is it with you and green haired apprentices
(ETA: somehow I keep managing to forget this fact and it always surprises me lol)

Interview Preparation
Career Choice : Illustrator
Company Choice : FolioArt
1. Tell me about yourself. I am a 16 year old artist who has been working with portraiture, both realistic and cartoonish, since I was very small. I have won 2 consecutive awards for the international government-run ‘Manga Jiman’ competition, both in 2019 and 2020, winning the youths prize in 2019 and both the youths prize and 7th place in 2020, ‘making history’ as I won the youths prize two years running. The music I listen to inspires me a lot as what I draw can sometimes entirely depend on what I am listening to at the time. I have had a major interest in manga and anime since I was young and that has also influenced my style of work and the fandoms I go around to spread my collection of work to different places of the internet.
2. Why do you want to work for us? I love the fact your company will represent a range of illustrators, both well-known and up and coming. That makes you seem much more open to different styles of work and experimentation to me which I find myself drawn to.
3. What can you bring to our company? Why should we hire you? I can bring a range of styles. Like Ive said before, I work in both realism and cartoonish styles of work, which I feel could bring more people in from completely different sides of the art world. I can also work with a wide range of mediums, from digital work to watercolors, although I find myself preferring digital for the clarity you can get in an image.
4. What do you know about our company? You were established in central London in the 1970’s and are now working worldwide. You cover all sides of the art world from traditional works to GIF’s. You say you have a personal relationship with your illustrators. You have also represented artists that have worked with well-known bands for album art which include Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and The Rolling Stones, and have also had artists under your wing work with film studios like when Joe Petagna created the concept for the Facehugger in Alien.
5. Where do you see yourself in 5 years? What are your career goals? I hope to see myself with enough of a following to simply be able to create for myself and be able to make a living, as selfish as that sounds. I don’t enjoy working for others unless I like their concepts and ideas as I will just simply be uninterested in what I create and end up producing something boring as a result. I want to work to the best of my ability, and as much as the art world is ran on what others want to see, I want to dictate what I do in the process while also getting approval from the people who will consume it.
6. Why did you choose this field/career path? I chose this career path as it’s the only thing I know. As I child I would never let myself do anything but draw, I was obsessed with the gratification I got when I saw that I was improving. That was probably a detriment in the long run as now I feel obligated to work in the art industry because if I don’t what have I been doing this whole time. I feel like I owe it to myself and to the people who have funded my interests and hobby.
7. Can you tell me about your role in your current place of work? Right now I am a college student, so my role is to learn. I will create, be criticized and create again. My job is to learn from the criticism and improve upon myself to represent the collage in a good light as well as myself, and hopefully gain recognition so the collage can say that they taught me for better reputation.
8. What are your strengths/weaknesses? My biggest weakness is my pride. I will become quite offended by the slightest bit of criticism that I think isn't warranted, and yet I am so self-critical that I will rip a piece to shreds if I go a touch out of my lines while painting. It hurts to have my fears confirmed that I won't be the gifted child forever and that I will blur into the crowd of other talented artists in my classroom. It's not only that but also the thought that I spent so long on a piece to be told that it didn’t match up to an idea someone else wanted or there wasn’t enough color, and I find myself unconsciously lashing out, but I am trying to work past that and take the criticism thankfully. Despite that, what could be considered one of my greatest strengths from time to time will be my stubbornness, as I will stick to a plan I like no matter what others tell me might go wrong, which sometimes works in my favor. Technically, I am more skilled with watercolors and digital mediums than I thought I was, as the amount of people I hear struggle with them is astonishing to me as I find I work with them with relative ease, but to counter that I now struggle with mediums such as acrylics and colored pencils as Ive laid off them for so long. I hope to get better with those mediums in the future as I practice more with them again.
9. Tell me about a time when you worked in a team? Were you a leader/coordinator/etc.? I studied performing arts when I was at The Academy Grimsby secondary school. We were tasked to create a script or scenario based on a prompt that I can't quite place now, and we were a group of 4 actors as most people there were dancers. I ended up writing up the entire script that I put together, although the others did prompt some ideas, and almost directing practices. I felt I was forced into a leading position as the others weren't engaging as much as they probably should have, apart from one other person who seemed to take it as seriously as I did. I feel despite the fact I was practically shoved into the lead, and even though the script was probably shoddy as I had never really written besides from creative writing in English, I lead them well considering I was known to be quite antisocial and introverted. That situation made me realize that I was better at controlling situations and being assertive to others than I ever thought I would be, although I wasn’t too strict or bossy from what I remember.
10. Tell me about a time when you faced a challenge. What was your reaction? How did you solve it? I faced quite a big challenge when I created the first page of my 2020 Manga Jiman entry. In the first page you get quite a copious amount of building shots, and while it looked good how I imagined it, I realized when I had finished the sketch that I had never really drawn a building before. It took me two days of constant redoing, experimentation and almost scrapping the first page entirely before I finally felt happy with what I had produced. Nowadays I find it much easier to step out of my comfort zone and delve into architecture when drawing backgrounds, and I feel this experience helped me progress as an artist.
11. Tell me about an accomplishment you are most proud of. Ive mentioned this before a copious amount of times, but my Manga Jiman awards. As they are government run and judges by professional mangaka (manga creators) I think it gives my awards that extra flair of pride that makes me cling to them. The thing I will probably particularly cling to is the fact they said I was ‘making history’ with my consecutive youths prize wins, which I think is quite a good thing to be able to say on a resume. Not only that, but my winning submission for the 2020 competition was given a talk about on the award ceremony by a legendary mangaka Kiriko Kubo, who said my ‘line was neat, the layout was good and the main character was charming.’,’the work can be read smoothly’, and that ‘creating atmosphere is important, and being able to do it like this is an exellent talent’. It gives me pride that someone so prestigious in a world I had barely entered would praise my work so highly.
12. What motivates you? What can motivate me most are two things: approval from others and money. I am materialistic at heart but also sensitive to others comments on my work, so the both end up being great pushes in my art career. I feel if I am being paid for my work that it is worth something, because objectively it is, and being praised for what I do makes me feel validated beyond what I thought was possible, so the two can push me to keep going.
13. What was your biggest failure? What did you learn from it? My biggest failure is the many times Ive tried to work with soft pastels. I don’t know what it is with that medium that renders me unable to function with them but I cannot create a good piece with those sticks of chalk in my hands. I learnt that I am not the best with dry mediums and should probably keep to my paints and digital mediums for now, although I'm always open to trying them out again and again until I get used to them.
14. What was your biggest mistake? How did you fix it? My biggest mistake was thinking I was going to get placed in my first Manga Jiman entry in 2019. I was 15 at the time, so there wasn’t much of a chance I was going to be placed within the top 10 because of my age alone but I didn’t realize that at the time. I had gotten so apprehensive about results that should've been obvious from the moment I was shortlisted, but I was aiming for the top 5 in the placings. I still think that my work might've placed in top 5 had I been older, but the embarrassment and sadness about ‘only’ getting youths prize at the time was almost overwhelming. That experience taught me not to get my hopes up on stuff like that and set myself up for the worst when it comes to things like this in the future, which I did in the 2020 entry. I was simply aiming for 10th place as I wasn’t even aware the youths prize was being awarded that year because there was only 11 of us, and one of the prizes was the yonkoma award for people who were between 11 and 13 containing a single 4 panel page which one of the shortlisted entries mirrored. I ended up getting more that I thought I would've in the terms of awards and recognition which I was happy about.
15. Are you willing to relocate/travel? I am willing to relocate and travel, although i would prefer to do so with someone else I trust as I tend to get nervous in new situations should that be possible.
16. Do you have any hobbies? What are they? I don’t really do much other than draw for my social media’s and complete collage work. I do small things such as singing and watching twitch streamers, but those are few and far between or happening while I work so I don’t think they can be considered big hobbies of mine. I used to bake when I had to take a lot of time out of secondary school due to sickness but I had a lot of spare time back then so it was more possible for me to have hobbies other than art.
17. What are your computer skills/technical skills? I know how to work almost all Microsoft programs, office 365/outlook, and various digital art programmes such as medibang paint pro and the basics of photoshop/illustrator. I also know general video editing such as keyframing and audio manipulation in Wondershare Filmora.
18. How did you hear about this position? I chose to contact you for this position as I had found you take submissions for new artists to represent and thought I'd shoot my shot.
19. What are your salary requirements? Minimum wage and whatever you/the client feel I deserve on top of that, even if that’s nothing at all. As long as I get minimum wage for my work and supplies, I am fine with that.
20. Do you have any questions for me? How would you represent me? Would it be a situation where you would recommend me to people looking to commission and leave us to our devices or would you be there the whole process?

The raw fact is
Tumblr media
Half Human and quater Demon
1nen agumi no monster had truly a harsh start in my estimation. The first pair areas were global, the overview was boring, so many figures to worry about, plus it was boring. The entire "youkai" position just looked such as an inexpensive trick to conceal exactly how ordinary and entirely dull it really felt. Nonetheless although that, I expanded because I assumed guy oh guy did it definitely end up being one more thing as well as it 'd some potential. The begin is QUICKLY the toughest area of the manga. Unlike lots of shounen, where solid origins would certainly be the practice, 1nen agumi no monster does the choice and executes it completely in different ways. It accumulates water following the first handful of amounts than it surely will remove starts having a somewhat breakable starting and also ends up being fantastic. A genuine diamond in the tough.
The story focuses on a fraction blooded Youkai/Ayakashi called Rikuo that has ahead to terms with obtaining the first choice of his youkai family members. Its quite a cliched concept plus it actually includes the whole "dark alterego" slogan, that it has a ridiculous hairdo and serves as the actual leader of the family. I can not claim I loved that annoying "Yami Rikuo" factor the mangaka had going yet thankfully it had actually been done away with along with the character ended up being the precise very same for both vanities. Certainly this takes place over a period of time as well as it is silently applied that will certainly be one of the strengths of the manga. Little items of interesting data are spread in some places, merely to be increased later throughout a variety of earlier arcs. Its obvious that much of initiative and also time went into developing the background good-and it undoubtedly starts to display later on. It particularly obtains terrific after area 50, a short goal is inevitably offered for the reason in addition to once the primary villain gets released. This manga stories and also borrows from the huge quantity of old Western misconceptions, as a result it has some really abundant content to use. Throughout the significant recall arc, the account can perhaps get actually interesting particularly at its finest.
Review holy chef crazy empress manga pushes LOTS OF individuals in to the site visitors encounter at the start. Its guaranteed which you wont keep in mind the youkai that resist Rikuo regularly. The majority of the youkai obtain time to radiate nonetheless whilst the manga proceeds plus they get reestablished for the market. Their previous/youkai peculiarity in developing a really impressive actors of people relocate rather a range. Great deals of figures that obtained launched in section 1 are becoming some been entitled to moment within the focus for themselves within the present chapters when Iam writing this review. The raw fact is, the beginning might have felt rather down since the mangaka attempted to place the building blocks quickly. Find every one of the necessary presentation from the way to make sure that precisely what utilizes has better writing and also even more emphasis. It might not have actually currently been the greatest method, however every little thing formerly handful of arcs have currently been rock stable in top quality.
The-art is phenomenal considering the fact that it is an once a week manga. Not just one youkai style is furthermore, since there is essentially plenty of unnamed youkai styles within the manga which is claiming a lot. Don't bother the main cast, who all have truly distinctive designs that vary from amazing to downright badass. It's a paint brush to it-which really looks impressive in some cases like top quality, and also naturally there is absolutely nothing actually appreciate it in Leap today. The artstyle within this manga is just dripping with imagination, the same as various other masterpieces. The battles vary from featureless to in fact wonderful. This issue transforms a lot more than one more parts however most of time, they are all reputable.
1nen agumi no monster manga does excessive to separate itself in the normal shounen expense. Sure it's its share of archetypes as well as cliches, but everything just works together. Its definitely a great deal more than the amount of its parts, a genuine delight to see every week. For me its absolutely one of the most constant from all of the mangas in Leap. Its gon na come to be a long-running shounen, nevertheless it has actually obtained the benefit of having a near limitless variety. I am to not concerned about it in this circumstances due to the fact that it could obtain anywhere following this arc additionally it function. Its in its initial stage nonetheless it has something lots of different long-running shounen do not: pacing and emphasis. If you are still looking over this evaluation go get Mago. It's worth checking out to any person who normally read manga. Know more here : https://themangablog.sitey.me/r0q6si5k89uihau8qeu9ygp01615024453 the  history of

Day 1 - Fever - Jotahan
Hey guys! I’ll be doing seven fics for hurt/comfort week, so there’s that to look forward to. The usual situation, posted on Tumblr throughout the week and then on AO3 by Sunday.
It wasn’t like Rohan to leave his front door open.
Morioh was a pretty safe town, recent events notwithstanding, but this was simply irresponsible. Especially for a minor celebrity like Rohan, who wasn’t exactly welcoming towards guests, even when it came to the ones he had actually invited.
Jotaro sighed and entered the silent house, shutting the door as he went. Rohan was a powerful Stand user, possibly the most powerful Jotaro had ever encountered, but he couldn’t afford to take any chances. Not with Kira still on the run and new enemies popping up everywhere like particularly stubborn weeds.
The first floor was dark, the lights off and heavy curtains drawn across the windows. Rohan liked his privacy. Normally, Jotaro respected that fact. He was also a private person, and he understood the desire for quiet and solitude. But this time, Rohan was expecting him.
He’d called Jotaro with a promising lead, a collection of photographs he’d taken of Morioh and the surrounding area for reference purposes. With Star Platinum’s precision, any small details could be enlarged and examined. Thus, Rohan had offered a grudging invitation, his house around noon the next day, and in the interest of catching Kira, Jotaro had accepted.
It was only to catch Kira. Jotaro had no other reason to visit Rohan, of course he didn’t, the two barely knew each other. And he saw nothing in the reclusive mangaka, certainly not anything attractive about his haughty demeanor or his slender frame or his bold fashion sense.
Jotaro had spent the morning on the phone with his wife, or his ex-wife, or whatever she was now. The last thing he needed was another load of emotions on top of the ones he already had.
The doors to the kitchen and the porch were shut, and that left the second floor. Jotaro was starting to worry. Rohan could handle himself in a fight as long as he could use Heaven’s Door, but he wasn’t much physically. It would be easy for an enemy to overpower him before he had a chance to call out his Stand.
The stairs creaked under Jotaro’s feet, and he summoned Star Platinum just in case. If there was an enemy in the house, they would be alerted by the sound. And operating off his overpowering Rohan theory, they would be able to attack quickly.
Upon reaching the landing, he let out a sigh of relief. There was a light under the door to Rohan’s study. That meant the man had simply gotten caught up in working on his manga. Not a good reason to leave your front door open, but a very Rohan one.
Jotaro knocked on the door, and the only answer he got was silence. Again, not unusual for Rohan. He had a sort of obsessive fervor for his work that Jotaro couldn’t help but respect. But he had business, and so he entered.
The blinds were all closed, the only light from a collection of lamps, and Rohan sat hunched over a desk at the other end of the room, sketching furiously. Jotaro knocked on the doorframe, and when that didn’t work, offered a short, “Hey.”
Rohan didn’t even look at him. “Go away.”
Jotaro was back on guard instantly. This sort of thing was exactly what he’d learned to expect from an enemy Stand attack. Rohan should know they had business, and while he was devoted to his manga, he wanted to catch Kira as much as the rest of them. Maybe more, given his personal connection to a certain ghost girl.
“You wanted to show me some photos?” There was still a chance this was just Rohan being Rohan. It was hard to tell with him.
“I said go away!” The mangaka turned around, and for the second time that day, relief washed over Jotaro.
Rohan looked tired. His hair stuck up at odd angles and there were dark circles around his eyes. He didn’t seem like he was under attack. But he clearly wasn’t having a good day anyway.
“Good grief,” Jotaro sighed. “You’re the one who invited me.”
“I did?” Rohan ran a hand through his unkempt hair, looking genuinely confused. That ended quickly. “Whatever! I’ve got work to do!” He spun back around and his pen leapt into motion once again.
Jotaro frowned. He crossed the distance between them and, with no regard for personal space, touched Rohan’s forehead. It felt warm, considerably warmer than it should. “Rohan, you’re sick.”
“Nonsense!” Rohan attempted to push Jotaro’s hand away with little success. “Illness is nothing to the great Kishibe Rohan!”
“You have a fever.”
“And?” The lines on the page were jagged and uneven, not at all like Rohan. “I have a chapter to finish! Go away! You’re making my head hurt!”
Jotaro knew he should leave it at that. He could come back tomorrow, inspect the photos, be that much closer to catching Kira. Rohan, for all his pettiness and spite, was an adult. If he chose not to take care of himself, that was none of Jotaro’s business.
And yet his feet remained rooted to the spot.
The truth was, maybe Rohan had a certain charm. An unusual one, but Jotaro wasn’t exactly normal either. Maybe seeing him like this hurt, in a way Jotaro had thought he could no longer feel. A way he’d tried to forget existed. Maybe the sharp eyes and the nimble fingers and the delicate lips formed something Jotaro called possibility.
Maybe he was still stuck in the past, still dreaming of red hair and a green coat and a voice he’d never hear again.
Jotaro bent down and lifted Rohan out of his desk chair, one arm under his legs and the other around his back. He straightened up, and headed towards the door with Rohan held tight in his arms.
Unsurprisingly, Rohan wasn’t happy with this new development. A fist slammed into Jotaro’s chest with the force of a particularly angry child. “Hey! Let go!”
Jotaro shook his head.
“Put me down!” Rohan reminded him of a wet cat, trying to claw at Jotaro’s face. The best he managed was to knock his hat askew. “Where are you taking me?!”
“Bed.” Jotaro tried his best not to look at Rohan. It would makes things more complicated than they needed to be. “You’re sick.”
“I need to finish my chapter!” Rohan attempted to wriggle out of Jotaro’s hold, earning himself a tighter grip. They were at the study door, and then through to the landing.
“Good grief.” Jotaro wasn’t sure which door led to Rohan’s bedroom, but he got lucky on his first guess. The room was barely more than a cell, just a bed, a dresser, and a chair. Surely Rohan could afford better. “You’re in no state to work.”
It seemed Rohan had realized Jotaro wasn’t going to be talked out of it. He stopped struggling, and that made it all feel strange, the weight of another person in his arms. Why hadn’t he used Star Platinum? The Stand would have been able to restrain Rohan much easier than Jotaro himself.
But as strange as it was, he liked the feeling.
“Stay.” Jotaro set Rohan down gently on the bed, and used Star Platinum to bring over the chair so he could sit down. The blankets were in a heap at the bed’s foot, and he draped one over Rohan.
“Alright.” Rohan’s glare was pure spite. “I’m in bed. You can go now.”
Jotaro shook his head. “You’ll get up the minute I leave.”
“No I won’t.” Rohan said, like that was something Jotaro was supposed to believe.
“Get some rest.”
It wasn’t the way things had been so long ago. Rohan was different, none of the polite facade and the honor student look. He was ice all the way through. But Jotaro was different too. And maybe that was enough.

Look, here’s the thing about Mineta - if he didn’t have that overused, stupid as fuck ‘Funny Sexual Harassment/Degenerate Pervert’ shtick going on, he’d be a genuinely interesting character.
I don’t mind cowardly characters! I really don’t!
Getting to see them become brave and step up to the plate when they’re most needed is fucking awesome, even if they’re scaredy cats! Usopp from One Piece is one of my favorite characters, and I will admit that he is a coward!
(Also like, Courage the Cowardly Dog? He may just be my favorite character ever, period!)
I love seeing characters like that doing what Mineta is doing right now - putting aside their fear to do what’s right and to help their friends! Mineta’s little monologue about noticing how scared Izuku is and how Izuku’s still pushing through it, and in turn becoming emboldened by Izuku’s courage-
If he didn’t have that pervert side of him, I’d be cheering him on right now!
Christ, when will mangaka fucking learn that this shit ruins characters? This isn’t funny, this isn’t new - it’s old, tired, and boring as fuck to have to witness!
And it doesn’t matter that ‘well, he gets punished for that’ because he (and EVERY SINGLE OTHER PERVERT LIKE HIM IN MANGA AND ANIME) never fucking learns better. It never changes their attitude whenever they get beaten up or dropkicked into next week - they just come right back and do it again.
(The only reason for that is so the mangaka - AND THE STANS WATCHING IT - can be like ‘well, he got punished, so it’s all right!!!!11111′ when it’s not.)
An example: Sanji from One Piece used to be one of my favorite characters.
The Baratie arc was fucking awesome, I loved the backstory, loved his abilities, cheered him on, and cried when he did. Then comes the reveal that well, what matters most to him in the world is a beautiful woman!!11111 And making sure she stays perfectly pristine!!!!!1111 Even if she’s a fucking trained assassin-okay, that’s a rant for another day.
But he violated his supposedly ‘precious’ nakama’s body during Punk Hazard because he needed to feel her breasts and see them EVEN WHEN SHE TOLD HIM NOT TO. He peeped on his female nakama while they were in the bath. He perved on a sixteen year old girl, and all the other bullshit he’s pulled. He does shit like this again and again and again and now it’s to the point where I can’t fucking stand to look at him whenever he appears.
It doesn’t matter anymore that he’s a remarkably intelligent man, an excellent strategist, and an amazing fighter. It doesn’t matter that he has some badass one-liners, shitty puns, and a sense of style that appeals to me deeply.
Because his author decided that making him a pervert was more important than any of that. And now his character is ruined for me. I don’t care about him, and I don’t think I ever will.
Mineta had the opportunity to be an amusing, hilarious character! (How did he manage to get into UA with such a Quirk? His design is hilarious, I like cowardly characters and how they become brave, etc, etc)
But I’m so apathetic towards that shitty, overused, frankly unoriginal as fuck trope that I just don’t particularly care!
It’s such a stupid trope, and I’m sick and tired of it.

Ai Yazawa End-of-Book Notes 1-21
So at the end of every volume of NANA, Ai Yazawa has a brief paragraph about the manga or just some introspection about her life. They give great insight into the series and I think only a few are found on the scans of NANA online, so I thought I’d share them all!
Volume 1
The creator, Ai Yazawa, told us, “I created this story so that it could be enjoyed as a stand-alone and, at the same time, have a complete ending that could be connected to an ongoing series.  I hope you’ll look forward to the future of the two Nanas!”
Volume 2
A note from Ai Yazawa: “I had thought that if the two Nanas met each other, they would probably be constantly fighting, but they seem oddly friendly.  What’s up with that?!  It’s one of me (not so) seven wonders (ha-ha).”
Volume 3
Since childhood, the artists I’ve looked up to haven’t been writers and illustrators, but mostly musicians.  Music provides me the most emotional effect and excitement.  If there was no music, I don’t think my creative juices would boil.  Music is that important to my life.
- Ai Yazawa
Volume 4
I realized one day that there are hit songs with the same names as the main female characters, NANA, JUNKO, and SACHIKO (the kanji for JUNKO is different, though).  It’s not that big a deal, but I sometimes just hum the melodies longingly.
- Ai Yazawa
Volume 5
In the initial drafts, Nana’s band was a rockabilly band like the Stray Cats.  But due to various circumstances, I didn’t keep it that way.  But if they were rockabilly, Ren, Nobu and Shin would have had pompadours.  And Yasu too?
- Ai Yazawa
Volume 6
When I was a child, I used to take piano lessons.  Even after I stopped taking lessons, I bought sheet music I liked and continued playing.  I’ve had my hands full for several years now, but one of these days I’d like to learn how to play jazz piano, which I’ve wanted to do for years now.
- Ai Yazawa
Volume 7
I had an opportunity to interview a group of professional musicians.  I showered them with questions, but they answered willingly, and it was very helpful.  I was having problems balancing the fictional world of manga-like simplicity and gorgeousness with a sense of reality.  But I realized again that what’s important is the humanity of the characters.
- Ai Yazawa
Volume 8
When I was in high school, there was a cool girl in my class who was a lone wolf.  I was really into a foreign New Romantic-type band then, and when she asked me one day, “Do you want to go to their concert together?” I was overwhelmed.  My heart fluttered more than when I was with my boyfriend (☺).  Have you had a Hachiko experience like that?  - Ai Yazawa
Volume 9
One day, I realized I had to write a bonus story.  I was talking to my editor about it (Let’s do a story about the history of Trapnest!) when Naoki swooped down triumphantly, shouting “Then I’m the star!”  The day will come when he gets his place in the sun.  You really don’t know what’s going to happen next in this manga! ☺  - Ai Yazawa
Volume 10
Natural disasters can’t be prevented, but man-made disasters don’t have to occur.  That’s what I think.  I didn’t end up writing real world events into the Nana story, cause there are people who would have been deeply affect by my retelling.  I wouldn’t be able to keep it ambiguous enough, and I didn’t want to just brush over the issue irresponsibly.  I hope you all understand.   - Ai Yazawa
Volume 11
The 2001 Chofu City Hanabi Festival was really postponed ‘cause of typhoon and was rescheduled for Oct 27.  When I was taking photos by the Tama River, an old man started talking to me and told me that “the fireworks festival that as cancelled is going to be held soon.”  The entire fireworks arc was born that way.  A uniquely precious encounter.  It came out of this chance encounter with that man.  Thank you very much.  - Ai Yazawa
Volume 12
Nana is expanding into other media!  Since I believe it’s my duty to concentrate on my work, my policy is to get involved as little as possible.  (Sorry!)  The way the creators are developing this work is so passionate, I’m overwhelmed by it.  I have to do my best along with Blast, so people don’t say this manga is worthless and that the publicity is the only good thing about it.   - Ai Yazawa
Volume 13
Before the shooting of the movie began, I accepted and offer to rite the lyrics for the theme song.  I did this to thank them and hoped it would be a song of encouragement.  I had my doubts, ‘cause I was worried it might not turn out how they wanted.  But the heartwarming work of HYDE, the composer, cheered me on.  The live-action NANA movie is filled with director Otani’s (and many others’) love for Nana.  I was very moved by that.  So please watch the movie and feel their love too.   - Ai Yazawa
Volume 14
I confess.  The seven characters I find easiest to draw (as pictures and as characters) are Kudo from Search Weekly, Hachi’s father, Kawano from Gaia, Matsuo from Gaia, the guard Yamagishi, Ginpei Moroboshi, and Mitsuru Narita.  I’ve been a manga for 20 years.  Lately I’ve been wondering about myself as a shoujo mangaka. ☺
- Ai Yazawa
Volume 15
In the small garden of the house I’ve been living in for over ten years, I have encountered many living beings.  Stray cats taking naps, intimidating praying mantids, lizards shining iridescently, a jet-black leech with a head shaped like a hammer, long thin flatworms, and snakes.  A perfectly shaped cast-off cicada shell has turned into a fixture for three years because I didn’t want to take if off the window screen.  When I’m busy, I want to move to a condominium in the heart of Tokyo, but I feel at home in this place.
Volume 16
I talked before about wanting to make Blast a rockabilly band.  The other day, the editor of Tenshi Nanka Ja Nai pointed out, “Ms. Yazawa, you said you wanted to do a rockabilly band story before you began Ten-nai.”  I don’t remember that at all, but I had the idea that long ago?!  Nowadays, I really have the urge to draw a comedy manga: What if Blast was a rockabilly band? ☺
Volume 17
I don’t particularly like talking about my age ☺, but maybe because of my age or not exercising enough or the curse of the Demon Lord, I can’t overexert myself anymore.  I’m going to get a thorough physical checkup for the first time in my life.  It’ll take two days, including an overnight stay, and they’re going to check all my internal organs thoroughly.  How frightening.  I should have the results by the time this volume comes out in Japan.  Please pray that I won’t be thrown in the hospital.  Not for my sake, but for Nana and the others!
Volume 18
Hello.  They found something wrong with me during the thorough physical checkup I mentioned in volume 1.  I went to the hospital, I gave up smoking for a while, and in the end, I had an operation.  I’m finally getting better.  I apologize for making people worry.  During my hospital stay, the beautiful nurse inserted a painkiller suppository as if it was nothing and told me “I’m a big fan ♥.”  I was really embarrassed! ☺ Thanks for taking care of me. Thank you!
Volume 19
Hello.  I wrote in the last volume that “I’m getting better,” but as soon as I wrote that, I had to call an ambulance and was forced to suspend the series, so the release date of the new volume was set back.  I’m really sorry to keep you people waiting!  For those of you who waited patiently, thank you so much.  It’s a rare thing for me, but I took a break like a human being, and so this time I was able to recover completely.  From now on, I’ll my best but won’t push myself to the brink of collapse.  Please watch over Nana-san and the others from now on as well!
Volume 20
Hello.  Because of the way the story turns out, I thought it would be inappropriate to joke around with bonus pages at the end of the volume.  I figured we could do without them sometimes, that they’re just bonus pages, so I took the plunge and did away with them completely this time.  But I’m feeling super anxious ‘cause it seems like somethings missing.  It looks like I can’t be a stylish mangaka who can play the game with just the main story, someone who doesn’t need to throw up a smoke screen with the extras.
Volume 21
Hello, Yazawa here.  With this volume, no matter what scene I was drawing, I as heartbroken.  I had a hard time, and it took longer than usual to draw.  So it was such a relief when Satsuki appeared.  Somehow the panel with Satsuki and Yasu together felt especially soothing.  I never envied any of Yasu’s girlfriends or Nana, whom Yasu protects, but I’m totally jealous of Satsuki, whom Yasu’s taken under his wing since she was a baby.

World’s Greatest ‘Mary-Sue’
((You can also read on Fanfiction.net if it’s easier that way. Writing this to blow off steam, so let's have fun shall we? Onodera reads his first yaoi manga that'd been penned by his new kohai (OC). He doesn't realize just how intoxicating her work is... Gonna touch on all pairings in SiH, but I might mess with Junjou Mistake because who doesn't love Isaka-san? XD Rated M to be on the safe side.  ))
Prologue - Meet Meiri Uehara (OC Background)
Onodera had just arrived at the office to find his coworkers (except Takano) all already deep into their new projects. The atmosphere was fresh as the cycle had just restarted and only two days old!
"Ohayo!" he greeted everyone as he sat down.
"Ohayo Ricchan!" Kisa smiled. The rest of the department responded in kind. Ah, the first few days of the cycle are always the best! No one was groaning or moaning, bitching or itching to get to make it at the last minute. Of course they'd have to face it again in just a few days, however...
The young transfer really didn't want to ask, but as always his overthinking curious mind got the better of him. "So where's Takano-san?"
"Ah he went to go meet with our new team member," Mino answered with his trademark smile. He was the first one in when Takano was leaving to go meet with this new prospective.
"A new team member?!" all three exclaimed at once. It also seemed that the other editing departments on that same floor perked up their ears as well.
"Hmmm so we need to get the new employee training manuals out again, huh?" Hatori said already going to see where he might've put them.
"Actually, Takano-san said she wouldn't need much training at all..." Mino replied stopping Hatori in his tracks. However, the pronoun struck and resonated more so. 'She?'
"Ehh?! So a woman is joining our team?" Kisa asked. Not that it would be bad at all. Though the image they held as the "Maiden Club of Handsome Men" would change just a little.
"Personally, I think it would be a nice change of pace," Mino added with a finger up. "And like I said, Takano-san said that she actually isn't very new to editing manga at all. I believe he said she has three years editing experience in manga along with actually being a mangaka herself for nearly 15 years. So she should be able to slide right into work, no problem!" he smiled again. "Not to mention, we could sure use the help!"
"Wait...wait...so..." Onodera started. This new person isn't really new to editing and she's an author? So.. he pondered. "If that's so, why..."
As if on queue, the editor in chief himself stepped back into his department. All the papers of the new recruit in his hand. Including what looked like a manga book, but its cover was shielded by the way he held it. Mino was the first to speak up as the others were obviously very curious in hearing this news. "So how did it go Takano-san? Is she going to join our team?"
Takano gave a sigh, but was smiling as he finally settled at his own desk. "Well...Best part is that we won't have to struggle teaching her anything. She edited and still writes for Marukawa. So she knows basically the whole process and how it's done. Though I'm not exactly sure why she wants to edit shoujo manga right now,"
"Wow, so where is she?" Kisa asked. Pretty sure everyone else was gonna ask the same thing.
"Filling out HR formalities and paperwork. GA will be bringing her in a while, possibly about lunch time," Takano said thumbing through paperwork thinking about what the first jobs and projects he was going to assign his new employee. Unlike with Onodera, Takano actually got to greet the new prospective at the interview.
"You said she's a mangaka for Marukawa right? Would it be an author we know?" Mino asked curiously.
"Not sure," he said pulling out the little manga book out from underneath the file. And handing it over for Hatori (who was closest) and all to see. "This would be one of her works apparently...I found it in our archives. I'm told it's been running for 3 years but it will finally be ending with its finale book due to hit the shelves next week,"
The cover was very similar to the volumes of shoujo manga that the Emerald team pushes out every month. Even down to the sparkles, roses, and...pink. But there was one major difference that said it wasn't shoujo manga at all. Both characters on the front cover appeared to be male.
As soon as Kisa got a clear look at the cover from where he was, he gasped; pulling the book right out of Hatori's hands. "N...no way! No way!" Kisa said sparkly eyed and excited. "Uehara Meiri is gonna work with us?! Ahhhhh I love her work!" This of course drew the attention of the Sapphire BL Editing Division. They were most DEFINITELY looking their way now. Particularly the editor in chief.
"I see we have a fanboy among us," Mino chuckled at Kisa's eagerness. Though Kisa himself ignored the teasing that was implied.
"Of course I'm a fan! She's amazing! I've followed this particular series from the very beginning and I'm extremely happy with how it turned out!"
"Yaoi manga?" Onodera said with a rather nervous voice. Of course everyone who was anyone in the business of manga knew what that meant. He saw Kisa flipping through the pages and happened to catch a very heated scene between the two male lovers. A scene that made Onodera himself light up like a red traffic light.
"Of course she was already hired before I saw this. I guess the only REAL thing I might have to teach her is not to go overboard and remind her the audience is little girls not josei bachlorette women ..." Takano hummed.
"Erm...she's not really as bad as you think." Kisa began; a little apprehensive in countering his boss's remark and attitude about it. "I mean yes her work has ….heated moments that make you blush and that you shouldn't be reading in public," he laughs nervously. Then his face had a bit of somber look to it as he continued. "But there's just something about those particular moments. She writes a desire that builds up to such hot intimacy that means everything and not just lust. She can actually turn something that's racy and r rated, into something that's so natural and beautiful; something we'd all want in a potential life partner. Sex that speaks of love, longing, and trust as if it were the greatest blessing between a couple. And the fact that she can do that on love stories between two men makes it even more amazing!" he gushed.
Everyone's eyes widened a bit. What Kisa just said struck a huge cord with all of them; except perhaps Mino, but anyone could guess that he understood the feeling. "Ahhh...I don't think I've ever heard you talk like that Kisa," Takano began. Now he was really interested in this particular manga series. Perhaps he'll give it a try since he never read a yaoi manga. Though he did know of Usami Akihiko's BL novels, he just never read MANGA that told the same stories and was illustrated in manga format. "I'll be taking that back now, I'm sure you have this one at home, fanboy..."
Kisa blushed two times over as he handed the book back to Takano. "Okay, w...well I'll be getting back to work now," he laughed nervously and opened his laptop. The rest of the Emerald team really just chuckled at the display.
"Good idea," Takano agreed. "Time to check storyboards,"
Onodera was sort of lost in thought as he was working. So someone actually DRAWS stories like that? He pondered again as he pulled out his storyboard to work on. Not that he wasn't exposed to the fact of kind of thing existing really. After all there was a branch of the department that specialized in it; that worked on the same floor as them. It was probably more the fact that Marukawa published yaoi of that nature. He even began to ponder if the company that bears his very name put out yaoi mangas like that! It seemed interesting enough, but again it really was just a manga. Onodera's curiosity was killing him though. Especially after all that Kisa has gushed about her series. Not to mention the author of those books would soon be working with all of them. Looks like a trip to the bookstore might be in order after work...
/(^x^)\
Through the morning there were whispers about the new addition to Emerald echoing all around the floor. And she hadn't even arrived yet! But it seemed people were talking about the fact it would no longer be just a group of men. Rather a group of men plus one sole female. Some found it amusing while others found it... Onodera was just appalled that people would start thinking unnecessary thoughts right off the bat, though...it's not like he himself was new to that kind of treatment either.
"Hopefully you don't get too excited about the arrangement, Kisa. But I'll make sure to have a bucket of water handy," Takano jested. Kisa just laughed off his snarky remark.
"Aww c'mon, can't I at least ask her for her autograph?" he laughed keeping up the joke. He did really want an autograph though. Hopefully it wouldn't be too weird asking her for one now that she'd be working with them.
"Never said you couldn't...Ah, in fact" Takano stood up. "Here's your chance,"
"Takano-san! I have your new employee!" The woman from GA sang as she breached the Emerald department walls. And it was almost as if everyone on the editing floor turned their heads, not just the Emerald department. Their new recruit had deep red hair pulled back in a nice ponytail being held with a bow, her eyes a bright blue green color (though hard to see behind her red framed glasses), and she dressed in a red and black color scheme of a professional looking blouse and skirt. Not to mention, she looked insanely young!
"Nice to meet you!" Meiri bowed. "I'm your new editor starting from today, please look favorably on me! My name is Uehara Meiri, but you can call me Meiri-chan if you'd like!" she showed a bright smile happy and eager to work. Almost as if she was starting a job for the very first time.
"Ah...Uehara-san, that's not really..." the general affairs woman tried to remind her of formalities in the workplace.
"It's fine! I'm actually more comfortable to that name. It means you're my friend and since I'll be working along side them, being their friend is TOP priority! It makes the work a better place to work if you can get along and associate with those you work with!" she smiled. "Besides, doing that would help push books through a lot faster and easier, wouldn't it?" Meiri said immediately going to Takano. "So boss! Whatcha got for me?" she said referring to her first tasks.
Hearing this, Takano couldn't help but smile and wonder why she didn't run her own publishing branch. He bowed to the GA woman saying he could handle it from here; dismissing her. "Well like I said, I won't have you on any authors until next month when I see for myself how you work and what kinds of weights I can put on you," Takano said with a stern face, but all the while happy he had someone he might not have to fuss over from everything he's heard. "So I'll have you as a subordinate to one of my editors here and since you're not the only one new to Emerald, I'll have you work with Onodera. With any luck, he might learn a thing or two..." Onodera made a face at the teasing Takano was insinuating.
"Aye aye, Cap'n" she mock saluted him. All in good fun. Though the way she was acting toward her new boss would make other employers or leaders weary of her professionalism, Takano felt otherwise. As well as everyone else in that department. To Takano, she might just be like another assistant director to him and Onodera just from her first day. Though she might need to prove that to him first. This vibe echoed through the rest of the Emerald team.
Ignoring his chief editor and his uncontrollable urge to tease Onodera, he stood and greeted the new subordinate. "I'm Onodera Ritsu. I look forward to working with you," he bowed.
"Pleased to meet you! I look forward to working with you as well!" she bowed deeply to him. Onodera felt a little uneasy being treated with such high regard, but maybe this wasn't so bad after all?
/(^x^)\
Meiri settled into her new work space that was the empty desk in front of Onodera (beside Mino) since she'd be working under him it seemed. Takano had given him all the things she needs so he could guide her properly. He also really wanted to see how well Onodera worked in 'training' a new employee. Though she didn't need much it seemed.
There was no further ceremony from them or anyone after she got to working. Especially since they had to wait in getting to know her further until after work. There was still that damning question as to why she went from author to editor and one outside her preferred genre. Yes all that would have to wait until they were done fighting authors for their storyboards, getting them to agree to changes, and gear up for the next few steps through the month.
At the end of the day, Takano found Onodera and Meiri hitting it off really well. He actually felt a bit jealous in the beginning and almost regretted his decision to have her work under him. That is...until he remembered on her resume how it said she was married as well as the rose gold wedding band on her finger.
According to Kisa, Meiri is the wife of a prominent actor whose forte is musical theater, Uehara Takuya. She also seemed to gush about her husband a bit while she was working (even put up a little picture of them in the corner of her new workstation), so Takano's worries were quickly laid to rest as far as that was concerned.
"Ahhh I think that about does it for today," Takano sat back and stretched. There was nothing more they could do with their authors for the day. "If anyone else is interested, how about a small drinking party to welcome our new Emerald member?" he smiled. He wasn't much for these kinds of things, but he really spoke for everyone in his department that was curious and really wanted to know more as to her situation. "Unless you have plans, Meiri-chan?"
"Oh no not at all!" she cheerfully quipped. "I'd love to get to know you guys too! And...I kinda feel like I'm being watched," she sweatdropped. Both her AND Takano were receiving some looks from Meiri's former editor who happened to be editor in chief of the Sapphire BL department. Though she made no real move to confront them.
"Yeah we should converse in peace," Takano agreed. He's only met the Sapphire head on passing occasion since they shared the same floor. But now it seemed he was on her 'to-die' list by the way she was glaring at him through the day.
The team sought out a little hole in the wall not far from the Marukawa building. The pub had a very peaceful atmosphere and the snacks and drinks were something to brag about. "Okay well first question," Mino started. "You were a mangaka? Why are you going back to editing?"
"I'm actually still considered a mangaka," Meiri causally sipped her beer. "But I came back to editing because I'm in a slump right now. A BIG slump. I don't know if you've heard of my most recent series, but it's receiving HIGH regard. It's received tons of awards and such. I know it sounds like I'm bragging...but that's the problem..."
You could literally hear the 'eh?' in everyone's head as they waited for her to continue. "How am I ever gonna follow up such a great story like that? It's actually been bugging me for the past year when I knew it was about time to end this series. I felt this oncoming slump fast approaching and before I knew it, my series was over. It's not good for me to get rusty, so I consulted with Isaka-san about returning to editing with a special interest in shoujo manga. You know...just for the time being," she'd already explained to them that she chose shoujo to see if she could make a story that was more fluff than sex. It was actually something she was criticized on quite a bit.
"Your editor doesn't seem too happy about you going back to editing though..." Takano commented, speaking of course of the person who couldn't keep her eyes off them all day.
"Ahhh...no she isn't. But she all she really did was tell me 'You'll come up with something, just do it!'. As if that helped in anyway..." the red head layered on the sarcasm. She could feel Takano's pain as she'd been glaring at the both of them all day. "I figured she'd glare me down...but I don't see why she's staring daggers at you. You didn't have a say in where I was placed...Isaka-san did...Matter of fact, I asked him to," she told Takano. It was actually a bribe, but she didn't know if she should go around telling anyone that information just yet. It did draw some curiosity, but Takano spoke up first.
"I didn't even have a say in where I was placed when I got hired by Marukawa last year...that was also Isaka-san's idea," he offhandedly remarked.
"I don't think anyone did..." Kisa added and Mino and Hatori all nodded in agreeance. Onodera as well. The disastrous mid-career placement of going from literature to shoujo manga is a moment he'll never forget.
"So if she wants to place blame on anyone, it should be Isaka-san right?" Kisa continued.
"Well...knowing her, she's staring daggers at Takano-san for another reason. I think it's because I had no intention of going back to editing with Sapphire. I assume that would be the case no matter where I was placed,"
"Sooo she's jealous of Takano-san?" Onodera spoke up.
"Yep!" Meiri quipped. "She obviously isn't happy that I'm back at editing and to make matters worse, didn't even request to go back to Sapphire. ...where she could bug me, in other words... And I'll bet after she's done staring at the both of us, she'll finally come forward and confront us,"
"As if we need such interruptions during work..." Takano sighed with a griping tone. One could imagine a 'pyun-pyun' on the side of his head.
"Can't help it, that's how she is. Try being her author for the past seven years..."
"Well thanks for the heads up, now I know what to say to her if she ever does decide to disturb me,"
Author's Remarks
Ahhhh! This is just a story to get off my chest. I hope you like it. /(^x^)\
Ah and when I say "Please look favorably upon me" it goes back to the term "Yoroshiku Onegaishimasu" in Japanese culture that you use when greeting new coworkers or people you're about to do business with. (どうぞ よろしくおねがいします)
I decided to spell out the phrase in English because for me, it can get confusing when using Japanese terms and pleasantries in writing something that's primarily in English. And I'll try to keep it to a minimum because blending two languages can be VERY confusing. Though I'm sure our fellow fans of SiH or Junjou Romantica might know Japanese suffixes and their importance since they were never dubbed...and if not...GOOGLE IT and learn the wonderful world of Japan and it's language. Not just the anime/manga business. #LearnJapan

Kuro no Souzou Shoukanshi Tenseisha no Hangyaku had actually a rough begin in my evaluation. The preliminary couple areas were global, the overview was boring, a lot of figures to bother with, plus it was boring. The entire "youkai" position only looked such as an inexpensive trick to hide how typical and absolutely dull it really felt. However although that, I prolonged given that I assumed guy oh man did it certainly become one more point and also it 'd some prospective. The start is QUICKLY the most difficult location of the manga. Unlike several shounen, where strong origins would certainly be the tradition, Kuro no Souzou Shoukanshi - Tenseisha no Hangyaku does the alternative and performs it absolutely in different ways. It builds up water adhering to the first handful of quantities than it surely will take off starts having a rather fragile starting and becomes incredible. An authentic diamond in the hard.
The tale revolves around a fraction blooded Youkai/Ayakashi called Rikuo that has ahead to terms with obtaining the first choice of his youkai household. Its quite a cliched suggestion plus it actually includes the whole "dark alterego" motto, who it has a silly hairdo as well as serves as the actual leader of the household. I can not say I enjoyed that irritating "Yami Rikuo" point the mangaka had going yet the good news is it had actually been eliminated along with the personality became the exact same for both egos. Obviously this happens over a period of time and it is silently used that will certainly be one of the strong points of the manga. Little products of fascinating information are scattered in some places, simply to be raised later on during a number of earlier arcs. Its apparent that much of effort and time went into producing the background good-and it surely begins to exhibit later on. It particularly gets wonderful after section 50, a short goal is inevitably offered for the reason along with when the primary bad guy obtains introduced. This manga tales and also borrows from the large quantity of old Western myths, as a result it has some truly rich content to make use of. Throughout the major flashback arc, the account might perhaps obtain actually exciting especially at its finest.
Review Hoozuki san Chi no Aneki Imouto manga pushes LOTS OF people in to the site visitors run into at the start. Its ensured which you wont keep in mind the youkai that hold back Rikuo regularly. Most of the youkai acquire a long time to shine however whilst the manga continues plus they get reestablished for the market. Their previous/youkai quirk in developing a truly impressive cast of people move quite a distance. Lots of figures that obtained released in section 1 are becoming some should have minute within the focus for themselves within the present phases when Iam creating this testimonial. The raw reality is, the beginning might have really felt somewhat down considering that the mangaka attempted to place the foundation quickly. Find all of the needed presentation from the way to make certain that specifically what utilizes has much better writing and also more focus. It could not have already been the best strategy, yet whatever formerly handful of arcs have actually currently been rock consistent in high quality.
The-art is sensational taking into consideration the fact that it is a regular manga. Not just one youkai design is furthermore, because there is actually numerous unrevealed youkai designs within the manga and that is stating a great deal. Don't bother the primary actors, that all have genuinely distinctive designs that vary from trendy to downright badass. It's a paint brush to it-which really looks impressive often like top quality, and also obviously there is nothing truly enjoy it in Leap today. The artstyle within this manga is simply dripping with creative thinking, the like other work of arts. The battles vary from forgettable to really excellent. This problem changes far more than another parts however the majority of time, they are all reputable.
Kuro no Souzou Shoukanshi - Tenseisha no Hangyaku manga does way too much to separate itself in the normal shounen expense. Certain it's its share of archetypes and also sayings, but everything just works together. Its absolutely a whole lot more than the quantity of its parts, an authentic joy to see every week. For me its definitely one of the most continuous from every one of the mangas in Leap. Its gon na come to be a long-running shounen, however it has obtained the advantage of having a near limitless variety. I am to not concerned about it in this circumstances because it might get anywhere following this arc also it work. Its in its first stages nevertheless it has something lots of different long-running shounen do not: pacing as well as emphasis. If you are still evaluating this review go obtain Mago. It's worth reviewing to any person who typically read manga.
