rafe has dragged you away from the beach party, his needy hands moving all along your body as you both stumble through the woods, giggling with liquor in your systems.
“come here.” rafe finally says, moving his hand from your ass up to the small of your back, hauling your body against his. he doesn't wait for permission, he knows he doesn't need it from you as his lips press against yours.
you moan into the kiss, placing your hands on his cheeks, tipping your head back to let rafe have full access to your mouth.
rafe pulls away, his eyes scanning the forest. it's not dense, and you can see the beach through the trees, as well as the lights from houses in the distance through the trunks.
rafe spins your body to face away from him. “you have two minutes. run.”
“what?” you turn your head to look back at rafe.
“the clock is ticking y/n. run.” you recognize the look in rafes eyes. it's the same hungry one when he convinced you to ride him during a party, your dress covering the act, but both of your faces and actions giving everything away.
you don't care that you were branded rafes whore from that night on.
you take off, sandaled feet hitting the ground as you move through the trees, away from rafe. you try to control your breathing, try to step in spots devoid of branches as to not make noise, but you know you're failing.
the minutes tick down as you get closer to the houses through the wooded area, but you swivel to the left and run towards the beach, your eyes scanning for some place to hide, startling when you realize that rafe can be heard moving through the trees behind you.
“fuck.” you whisper to yourself, running along the beach to the old broken down pier, one that's scheduled to be taken out. you head underneath the wooden slats, hoping the dark will conceal you as you press your back to one of the support poles.
your heavy breathing begins to slow as your heart rate lowers, straining your ears to hear rafe coming, but you're too close to the water, the waves crashing against the scan obscuring any noise.
the minutes tick by, and you wonder if he made the mistake of turning left towards the neighborhood.
“got you.”
you scream, not having heard rafe approach until he's directly behind you. you push off the wooden beam, running as fast as the sand will allow, but rafe is faster. you make it to the edge of the woods when his hands grab you, dragging your hips against his body as you flail.
you try to get out of his grip, but it only results in you losing your footing and falling onto the sand.
“dumb girl.” rafe grunts, using his body weight to hold you down. “did you think you could escape me?”
“r-rafe.” you whimper, his large body weighing you down to the point it hurts, his hands pressing into your plush skin.
“don't say another fucking word unless you want me to gag you.” rafe warns.
“and if you move…” rafe says as he lifts himself off you, spreading your thighs apart and kneeling between your legs. “just know that i will chase you down and find you.”
you give a little nod. you're not going to move, you don't want to move as he flips the top of your dress up, smiling at your innocent little panties, topped off with a bow on the hem.
“my present.” rafe says. “my prize.”
he doesn't even bother taking your underwear off, he simply slides it to the side, not even having to say anything to embarrass you about how wet you already are, you know from the look on his face when he realizes that you liked the chase as much as he did.
rafe unzips his pants, pushing them down just enough to pull his already hard cock out.
“gonna claim my prize now.” rafe says, gripping your hips and pulling them up off the sand, slotting your thighs over his legs.
you treats you like a ragdoll, like your don't weigh a thing as he brings your cunt to his cock. he pushes in in one steady motion, not caring that he didn't do anything to open you up.
you whine at the stretch, but it feels good as much as it hurts.
rafe begins to move you, keeping himself still but manipulating your body to move up and down on his cock, stroking himself with your pussy, treating your body like a toy.
“god, such a tight little prize.” rafe groans, his head tipping back in the moonlight, making you whimper at the praise, attempting to move, not to get away but to assist rafe in moving you along his cock, but you're too exhausted from the chase.
“sit still, little prize.” rafe says. “let me use you.”
rafe moves faster, slamming your cunt down onto his cock, and you can't resist the moans that come out of you, not caring about the fact that your back is pressed against the sand.
“gonna cum in you.” rafe warns. it wouldn't be the first time. when you first had sex, rafe gave you one pouty look, his soft eyes begging you to let him take you raw, and you conceded instantly. he's never worn a condom since.
“please.” you whimper, breaking the no speaking rule. you think at first that rafe didn't notice, or let your plea slide, but when rafe pulls you off his cock, you know that he isn't going to let it go.
“hands and knees, slut.” rafe commands. you turn over quickly, your hands digging into the grains of sand as rafe moves your dress out of the way again, slapping a hand down on your ass.
you let out a gasp but smartly stay quiet as your panties are again moved. rafe presses his cock against your folds, moving the head through your wetness but not touching your clit, not when he's trying to punish you.
rafe moves, but passes by your entrance, moving to your other hole.
“maybe i should fuck you here. you are my prize after all. i should be able to do whatever i want with you.”
despite his words, rafe moves back to your pussy, his cock entering you in one smooth motion. you rock back against rafe immediately, replacing him using your body as a toy for you being the one to move, focusing solely on his pleasure, on making him cum, by squeezing your cunt as tightly as you can around him.
“fuck, keep doing that. such a good little slut.” rafe groans, his hands resting on your hips but letting you control the movements.
you slam your hips back as fast and hard as your tired body can manage, only satisfied when you hear rafe moan, and his hips press forward as he cums, releasing deep inside of you.
you continue small movements throughout his orgasm, letting him work through his high but also selfishly wanting to milk all the cum out of him.
rafe suddenly pulls out, snapping your panties into place, keeping his cum lodged inside of you, leaving it to drip out and ruin your underwear.
rafe loops his arms around your waist, pulling you up off the ground. he presses a kiss to your forehead as his hands move across your body, brushing the sand off your skin and dress.
“come on, my little prize.” rafe says, placing an arm around your shoulder and leading you back towards the party, helping you through the woods like he didn't just chase you through them to claim your pussy.
you don't care about the whispers when you get back to the party. the perceived insults of slut and whore. you don't care when later rafe takes you into the back seat of his truck, eating you out before fucking you again, even when he rolls the windows down for all to see.

Strength (Feral Predator x Fem! Reader)
Tumblr media
Story based on this post I made
I'm going crazy
Trigger warning : Abuse, swearing, nsfw, white men
Pain, all you knew was pain, this was the main feeling you had in your life, and it didn't matter if you wanted to stop it, you couldn't, this is a life you were born into. A life of servitude, you were born in the servants quarters of a wealthy hunter, your mother was beaten for even dare having a child when she didn't even own the bed she slept upon, your master was so kind to let you grow up into adulthood, so gracious to let you eat his food.
Despite this, life was still not easy, you often went without food, often beaten for simple mistakes such as spilling water. Despite this your master often talked to his fellow hunter men about how kind he was for letting you grow up under his wing, and considering this, he allowed you to go to America with him on a hunting trip. (I think in 1719 it was called the new world, but I'm not 100% sure, I'm a pastry chef not a historian, don't come for my neck).
And just like that you were shipped away on a large ship, away from everything you've ever known, saying goodbye to the fellow maids who took care of you, and saying goodbye to your mother, who as distraught at the fact her only child was possibly never going to return home.
The first couple weeks were filled with awful waves, sea sickness, and insanity. Those who could not handle the sea were thrown overboard, this was the life of a servant, you were property, not your own person.
Landing in the New World was a sight to behold, trees as thick as a sailors beard, plants you have never seen before, it was all wonderful, but you weren't there to sight see, you were there to carry backs and weapons as you continued your travels deeper into the lands. For weeks your feet ached, walking across the harsh ground with shoes that barely covered the bottom of your feet, often being dehydrated, often fainting from hunger. Your master would have ended you then and there, but he was running low on servants to carry his items, you guys eventually settling in the Great Plains, as the bison were plentiful, and their pelts would turn a pretty penny back home.
You were told to set up the campsite for your master, and that you did, taking the long sticks and forcing them into the ground, setting up the tarp covering, and then his bed, the rest were in trunks, you simply placed them around like furniture. By the time you were done it was night time, your mastered returned, stroking his disgusting beard, he struck you across the face with the back of his hand.
"You putrid thing! You haven't cooked dinner yet have you?", he shouted, stomping over to his bed.
The strike had landed you in the dirt, quickly getting on your knees you looked down at your dirty skirt, not looking up at him, a sign of submission.
"Stupid woman...." he grumbled, taking a sip from the tankard in his hand, the clear smell of ale tainting his breath, the man was clearly drunk.
Suddenly, his eye lit up, and he rose, grabbing you by the collar, and dragged you into the center of the camp, where all the other hunters were cheering, having a grand old time drinking.
"Hey boys!", he shouted, "I have an idea..."
You struggled against the rope tied around your neck, the rough fibers rubbed against your skin, the burning sensation forming from your struggles, tears stinging your eyes as your master tied the other end of the rope to a ram.
The sounds of the sickening laughter coming from these drunk bastards, sending the shiver of fear and dread throughout your body as your master slapped the rams behind, causing it to bleat out in fear and run into the woods. You looked in horror as the slack of the rope began to drag away, like a sickening timer to your doom, soon the rope stiffened in the air, and there you went. Dirt and debris from you trying to grab onto anything with a free hand, as your other hand held on to the rope, trying not to suffocate yourself as the ram kept going, the burns on your neck growing deeper and deeper, you kept screaming out for help, hoping anyone or anything would come to your rescue, it seemed like the ram had infinite stamina, the end was no where in sight.
You soon had a dark thought, and felt your grip on the rope loosening, hoping for a quick death, but as soon as the rope tightened around your neck, the rope snapped, stopping the dragging of your body.
Quickly sitting up, trying to catch your breath, drool falling out of your mouth as you looked at the ground, your eyes red from crying, feeling the uninterrupted courses of air purify your body, you looked at the rope, trying to see why it had snapped. Your eyes grazed over the rope on the forest floor, seeing it go on and on, following the rope to its end you saw a some sort of circular knife, if you could call it that, it was much too large for your hands, and it was very heavy, the metals it was made of wasn't anything you had seen before. Trying to pick it up was in vain, as it was not budging from its spot.
Your fingers grazed over the blades, thinking, while your other hand felt the rope against your neck, leaning down you used the sharp blade to snap the rope from your neck, cutting your neck in the process.
Once the rope was off of your neck, you felt the sensitive red spot that now circled your entire neck, surely to leave an awful scar, a memory of these awful events that have transpired today.
The crack of thunder, and the soft droplets of rain that fell through the leaves snapped you out of your thoughts, as you began to scurry to find shelter, you defiantly did not wish to go back to camp, you'd rather die out here than return to that man.
You walked as far as your sore feet could take you, eventually you looked up to see a cave at the side of a mountain, it looked a bit out of the way, so hopefully no predators would be inside
Tumblr media
Climbing the harsh rocks to reach the opening, your hands were sore, your legs were about to give out from under you. The feeling of pouring rain seemed to drag you down, but you pushed through it all, reaching the cave, you found yourself protected from the rain, falling into the cave, as a crack of lightning illuminated the cave, you swore you saw something.
Standing on your unsteady feet, you wandered deeper into the cave, tripping and falling into some sort of pit in the ground, it wasn't deep, it was soft, as if lined with blankets, you felt it with your hands, the feeling of tiredness overtaking you, you laid your head into the soft plush ground, your eyes growing heavy, and you drifted off into sleep.
At the entrance of the cave, a beast who stood on his feet like man, glistening in the rain, as his alien camouflage device was unable to function in the rain, the red ripples of it giving up shown through the rain, eventually turning off as he entered his den.
Taking a large step into the den he called his own on this trip, he sniffed the air, something was present. Using his helmet of bone, he scanned the area, looking down at his nest of furs and pelts, seeing your small sleeping frame, he knelt down, pulling his blade out, the same style of blade that had cut your rope earlier, but all its blades were contained within the small metal circle, the clicks of his mandibles echoed off the walls of the cave, shaking his hand the blades swooshed out, and he raised it up as it to slit your throat, but he stopped.
Returning the blades to its holder, and placed the weapon back to his belt, taking his large finger, he grazed the rope burn that was evident on your neck. Tilting his head while you slept, he stood back up, leaving you in his nest, he sat at the entrance of his cave, waiting for the rain to stop.
As the morning sunlight shined through the fresh dew drops of the last nights rain, the warmth of the sun warmed your skin, as you rose up out of what you thought was a pit, the light now showed to you it was in fact a nest of pelts and furs, and now with the sun illuminating the whole cave, your eyes gazed around.
The cave was decorated in the skulls of many animals, a small fire, and in the corner sat rotting meat, the unfavorable scraps of the animals that had been hunted before. Your eyes continued to wander, they landed on a pile of large weapons, fear began to take over your body once more, thinking you had entered another hunters home you stood up to leave, looking towards the entrance of the cave, you saw it.
It stood over 7 feet tall, it's skin tanned red, speckled with spots, thin strands of its dreads spilled out the back of its head, cascading down its back, it's face covered with some sort of mask, it seemed to be made of bone.
Freezing in your place you stared at it, upon closer inspecting, it wore a loin cloth, you assumed it to be a male whatever it was, and watching the slow breaths from his chest, you assumed him to be asleep.
Slowly you began to creep out of the cave, trying not to wake up the beast, you tip toed through the rocks, safety looking so close, until you heard a low rumble, a low growl.
Turning your head, you saw he had woken up, his mandibles moved, clicking at you, his large face looking down on you.
You took a step back, and he took one towards you, this continued for a bit until you took a bad step, there was no more ground to support your weight, you began to fall back, your arms flailed in the air, you closed your eyes bracing for a pain that never came.
The feeling of a strong arm around your waist replaced the feeling of air rushing past you. Peeking your eyes open, the beasts face was inches from yours, he had caught you with his arm.
A blush formed across your face, as he pulled you back onto stable ground. He moved his arm away, and took a step back, kneeling down so that his eyes were at level with yours.
You stared at him intently, noticing his strong build, his large frame, and his large muscular feet and legs.
"T-thank you....", you stuttered, not taking your eyes off of him.
The sound of clicks continued to sound from him, he rose his hand up, and seemed to touch the side of his mask, you could hear some sort of weird sound come from it, it confused you.
"Y-you are...welcome..." the beast said, turning his head at you.
"You can talk?", you said, shock still in your voice.
He turned his head in the other direction, raising his hand and tapping his helmet with his finger, indicating it was letting him talk to her.
With that same finger, it left his helmet and reached towards your neck, you reeled back in fear. Causing him to stop in shock, and hesitate.
"Do...not worry..."he grumbled, moving his hand some more.
You watched with one eye open, still weary of him, his finger reached closer, and he used it to turn your chin to look back at him, and it slid down your chin to your neck, tracing the rope burn.
"Who....did this....to you...?"
You sighed in dispare.
"My master did....", you whimpered, sadness was showing its way through your face.
"Master....? You...own one...another...?" he asked, taking his hand back, getting closer still kneeling down, using his hands to move over.
"Some...own others...and others like me, are born to serve," you said, bringing your own hands up to your rope burn.
"That...is not right...Why do you...not fight back...?"
"I-I can't fight..."
"I will show you", of course that came out clearly.
With that he stood at his full height, and held his hand out to you. You looked at him, and at his hand, slowly putting your small one into his, A purr came from his chest, as he picked you up onto his back, and then slid down the side of the cliff, as it was nothing to him.
On his back, he began to walk you into the forest, taking you to a clearing and setting you down. He walked out a bit farther than you, pulling a large spear off his back, he twirled it in the air in an intimidating fashion. Holding it straight ahead of him, it extended and sharp blades came out of the ends on both sides.
For the next couple of weeks, he taught you how to use the weapon, teaching you the motions, how to strike, and how to defend yourself. He also showed you how to hunt, how to trap, and how to skin an animal. He told you these are very necessary if you were going to live in the wilderness.
You happily learned from him, taking time to listen to him very closely, every word he said, every motion he made, every strike, you made sure to absorb all of it.
You sat at the entrance of the cave, watching the fire crackle under that days kill, the smell of meat filling the cave.
"Tomorrow you will learn hand to hand fighting," it seemed the more he spoke to you, the clearer his words became.
"Hand to hand...?" you looked at him, as he sat on the other side of the fire, he stared off into the forest.
"To defend yourself from them," he stated, pointing his hands into the forest, his finger directing your eyes over the tree line, cross the large lake, you could see the small flickers of fire from a camp, most likely the people who brought you here.
You agreed, taking the meat off the fire and taking small bites.
"Where are you from?," you asked, looking at him, the heat of the fire making your face warm, yep the fire nothing else you little sicko.
He turned his large head to look at you, almost as if he could smile he would, his mandibles extended and clicked together as he looked towards the stars.
"I come from a place called Yautja Prime..." he started, speaking of his home life. You sat and listened to him long after the fire had died down.
The next morning started as usual, you ate breakfast, and he carried you to the training spot.
When you arrived he kneeled in front of you, his hand reached up removing his helmet, the first time you would have been seeing his face, his golden eyes looking into yours, yet you did not flinch at all, you felt something but you did not know what yet. His mandibles clicked, and he tilted his head, not expecting your reaction. Putting his mask back up and put a bit of space between the two of you.
He turned to you and spoke.
"Hit me."
"What?!"
"Hit. Me."
Slowly you began to walk up to him, and then a walk turned into a run, you clenched your fist, and went to hit him, never making contact with him, his large hand grabbed your first and raised it above your head, he threw you to the ground.
"Again."
So you tried again, this time going at him from the left, the same outcome, this went on for an hour, your grew frustrated, clearly the two of you were far too different in size and strength.
You sat on the ground, upset with yourself, he knelt down next to you.
"Again?", he asked, looking at you,
"I can't hit you...you're too strong..." you said under your breath,
"Perhaps, I have been too hard, I will allow you to hit me, I will take the full hit."
"Really?"
He turned his head in the other direction, as a sign saying, "Go ahead"
But you were feeling something in your chest, when he turned his head, you placed a kiss against the side of his face, causing him to startle, he turned to you quickly, and then you clocked him in the face.
He growled for a second, and looked at you, and lunged at you, grabbing you from under your butt, and lifted you into the air.
"Good job, you have outsmarted me" he purred.
You just stared at him in awe like you do quite often, a red flush going across your face as he lifted you up effortlessly.
"You're...strong.." you said, looking down at him
"I am very strong...you are very small..."he chuckled, looking up at you.
"Much stronger than me" you smiled, looking around the trees at this new height
"I could...show you my true strength..." he purred at you.
You gulp, and look down at him.
"Your...real strength...go ahead..." your eyes are wide, wondering what his display will be to you.
"Then I shall..." he said with a huff, placing his hand on your stomach pushing you up, and then his other, raising you far above his head, and then removing one hand, "Show you my whole strength"
You stared in awe, as he held you above his head with a single hand, no sign of weakness, you began to laugh.
"Oh my! " you called out, not noticing someone was staring at you with passion and care in his eyes.
"Do you...wish to mate?" he asked, seriousness in his voice
"WHAT?" you gasped, wiggling on his hand, causing him to lose his balance of you, causing you to slip out of his hand, and fall towards the ground below.
Once again, the pain of the ground never hit your body, just the comforting touch of his hands around your body filling that space.
You looked at him, your eyes not straying away from his face, your face redder than an apple.
"Well...?" he asked, standing you back on your feet, awaiting your answer.
Standing there you began to fidget with your fingers, looking at your feet, you began to play this scene in your head many times before speaking from the heart.
"I...do..." you whispered, hearing the sound of him coming closer, kneeling down and looking at you from below.
"Then you will be mine?" he asked, his fingers grazed your face.
You nodded in agreement, and whoosh, you were pulled close to his chest, hearing his excited heart rate. You stood between his knees, you pulled back a bit, and placed your hands on his face, of course you would kiss him, if he had lips. You settled for placing one on his head. A happy purr emanating from his chest, as he pulled you into am embrace.
"Mine..." he said in a low purr,
It seemed like the two of you stood there forever, just the two of you alone in that clearing, until he suddenly stood up, placing a protective hand ahead of you, as his face scanned the bush line.
"What's wrong..?" you asked, looking up at him
He didn't respond, he eyes snapped to a certain area, and soon a large bear walked out, sniffing the ground, clearly following the scent of something it wanted.
It looked up, sniffing the air in your direction, letting out a roar, it began walking closer.
Sure all your training was good, but this was a bear, and you in fact were not the size of a bear.
He stood between you in the bear, as the bear began to charge. It leapt up, throwing itself into his arms. He quickly punched it in the face, as the bear clawed at his back, grabbing the bears sides, he threw it back on the ground. Standing up straight he took a stance, the bear shook off the blow of hitting the ground, and charged once again, speeding up, it was closer to him, but he quickly side stepped, and punched it in the side of the head, immediately knocking the bear to the ground with a sickening crack.
You looked, shock all over your face as he picked up the bear with his arms, and held it above his head, he let out a roar of victory, and threw it back to the ground, turning his attention back to you.
"Are you alright...?" he asked, kneeling.
"You just....punched a bear...to death...it was one punch..." you stammered,
"I told you I was strong," he chuckled.
"Yeah but, I didn't believe you could even," you shook an open hand towards the dead bear.
"Does that surprise you...?" he said, a smirk would be across his face (IF HE HAD LIPS), a bit of tease in his voice
"You told me to hit you, as if I could ever beat you."
"Yes, but why does that matter?"
"I could never beat you..."
"Why is that?" he scooted closer to you.
"You're clearly stronger," you looked at him, confused as to why he was teasing you, now seeing he was now kneeling over you, like me hovering over that sweet deep dish pizza.
Before you knew it he lunged at you, his face in the crook of your neck, a growl emanating from his chest, you knew what was to happen next, and you were fine with it.
You were fine with his clawed hand going down your body, his sharp claw ripping your only clothing off of your body. He took off his mask and tossed it to the side.
He opened his mouth, and his long tongue slithered out, sliding between your breasts, as he moved the soft spot of his hand over your nipple, feeling it between his fingers.
You let out a soft moan, watching him untie the loin cloth from the back of himself. Letting it drop between you, and showing all of himself to you.
You could feel your body change in excitement as the sight of that going into you made you wetter, he quickly turned you over onto your hands and knees, and you felt the tip of himself touch your slick.
Slowly, he eased his way into you, feeling his chest press against your back, his hands by yours, his tongue sliding on the back of your neck, he began to thrust all of his length into you.
You fell to the ground, crying out in pleasure as all of him slipped into you, he growled in pleasure, moving his hips again, and again, and again. The sounds of your skins slapping one another seemed to echo through the forest. You were crying on the ground, in a state of pure ecstasy.
Moving positions, he slid a hand under your stomach, and pulled you up, now on his knees, he gripped your hips, and moved you up and down against his length, he growled in pleasure, feeling your soft walls around all of him.
You could feel his claws press into you ever so tightly, even while on his lap, he was still much taller than you, you looked up to see him staring directly at you, taking one of his hands he gripped one of your breasts, continuing to pump himself into you, your juices mixing and creating a small pool between the two of you on the ground.
He looked to the sky, and let out a roar of pleasure once more, quickening his pace, gripping your breast tighter as his movement began to get rougher, the hand on your hip moved to your front, as he began to rub your clit, causing you to throw your head back into his chest, his tongue slipping down from his mouth, as he arched his back, sliding his tongue into your mouth.
Your body was flushed red, and you moaned as the two tongue swirled together, feeling the pool of pleasure build up in your stomach.
"I'm...I'm..." you cried,
His hand grabbed your hips again roughly, he began to slam into you harder, this sent you over the edge, causing you to climax, it shot out of you onto his legs, and he roared once again.
Tumblr media
Taking in the scent of it all, his primal side came over, he threw you down onto the ground again, not breaking away from you, he began to rapidly thrust into you over and over, causing you to cry out, he began to roar, as his body began to shake, his climax rippling over him as he filled you up.
That night, the two of you laid in his nest, a fur over your body as you no longer had any clothing. He was okay with that, as at home it was not uncommon for others to walk bare.
His large hand traced your sleeping face, as he looked at the claw marks across your body.
He was going to cut his hunting trip early, as he had found his prize.

۫ ꣑ৎ SCARS || carl grimes x female reader
summary: carl sees your scars and comforts you.
(intended lowercase)
warnings: talks of past self harm.
comfort
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
when the apocalypse started everything changed, you and everyone else's lives were flipped upside down nearly overnight and it was an adjustment to say the least.
out of everything, one thing remained the same; your relationship with long sleeves. you used to hate them, they were hot and itchy but you'd grown accustomed to them over time. before everything had happened, you had been dealing with your previous life and issues and it had taken a toll on you. you had felt so alone and helpless and it caused you to do things you weren't proud of, self harm being one of those things.
you regretted it more than anything, you hated the way the scars looked on your wrist and the way it made people think of you — it was belittling. so you covered them.
it seemed like a ridiculous thing to care about with everything going on, but you were only human and you were bound to have insecurities.
your paranoia of people seeing them only grew when you met carl.
at first you hadn't understood why, but time slowly revealed your infatuation with him and it made sense why you wouldn't want him to know about them. you wanted him to see you, not your past mistakes.
and he did, he saw you more than anyone. he listened to you, he took care of you, he loved you and his love was the most beautiful thing you had ever experienced. you had never experienced something as refreshing and tender as his love and you were beyond ecstatic the day he asked you to be his girlfriend.
it was the sweetest thing, you were sitting against a tree trunk with him by your side, your head rested on his shoulder while you read an issue of your favorite comic together. he would wait for you to finish to turn the page even when he was itching to turn the page to see the next part and something about that factor made you weak in the knees.
you had thanked him for being so patient and he told you not to worry about it.
then, he reached over and plucked a small yellow flower from the grass and handed it to you. it was a simple gesture but it brought a smile to your lips. you leaned over and kissed him on the cheek and he responded by kissing you on the lips and asking you to be his girlfriend.
you would've been a fool to say no.
now you sat on the edge of his bed, anxiously waiting for him.
the two of you had been on watch together, you were both talking about your day and what you planned to do after you finished there. everything had been going perfect, except for the fact that it was extremely hot out.
you could feel the sun on your back as you spoke with him, beads of sweat forming on the back of your neck. it was torture.
you weren't sure what invoked you to do it, but you rolled up your sleeves. it was so hot that you hadn't even thought about it until the damage was done and his eye was flickering between your face and your arm in shock. the second you processed what you had done you had rolled them back down and turned to walk away in a panic.
you heard him call after you but you ignored him.
after pacing around your room for a while, you had come to the conclusion that talking to him was the smartest of all of your options so here you were.
“y/n?” you were brought out of your thoughts by the sound of his voice.
“carl, hey.” you stood up from where you were sitting on the bed, your hands clasped together in front of you. “I, um..” you searched for what to say but words seemed to elude you.
he luckily filled the silence that surrounded you in your panic, “we don't have to talk about it if you don't want to.”
your breath quivered as you shook your head in a silent attempt to clear your thoughts. before he had walked in the room, you were certain you were gonna explain it to him and answer any questions he might have, but every fiber of your being was racked with uncertainty.
“I'm here if you want to, though.”
your legs pressed against the side of the mattress as you stepped back into the bed to take a seat, catching your head in your hands when you did. “I do.”
a moment passed before you felt the bed dip next to you, he left a decent size space in-between the both of you likely assuming you wanted space and waited for you to speak, his gaze lingering on you as he did so.
“I shouldn't have kept it from you,” you lifted your head to meet his eyes, his gaze was gentle and attentive and you relaxed under it, “I was scared you'd see me differently and I couldn't… I can't handle it.”
“I wouldn't.” he assured, shaking his head as if to emphasize the statement. “if it's important to you that I don't address them I won't.”
his hand moved to linger above yours, his thumb grazing the back of your palm. carl had always been big on physical touch when it came to the two of you being alone or a situation where one of you needed comfort, but he respected your boundaries and was willing to make sure you were comfortable with the touch at the moment. you briefly nodded to tell him it was okay, and he rested his hand atop of yours, his eyes never once moving from your face.
“It's not that,” you sighed, staring down at where his hand sat on yours. “when I started I felt so alone it was sickening and when people found out, the feeling only seemed to grow. people looked at me like I wasn't human anymore, I was just seen as this weak, demented monster who couldn't handle the real world.”
tears clouded your vision as you spoke, you felt so vulnerable and it made you nauseous, but you needed him to know. you couldn't keep it from him forever and you knew if you didn't address it now, you might never get the chance. “they told me they were gross and that I should cover them and I listened. I know they're not pleasant to look at and I know what people think when they see them, I wanted to avoid that.. with you especially.”
when you finally managed to look back up at him you were met with a look of acknowledgement instead of the usual pity or disgust you saw from others. “I don't think they're gross or that you're weak.”
he turned your wrist over and adjusted your sleeve to examine your arm, his thumb tracing over the gnarled skin. “you’re alive, you survived and if they're proof of that then they're not gross and they sure as hell don't mean you're weak.”
he brought your wrist up to his lips and pressed a gentle kiss against your pulse point, lingering for a moment before pulling back and releasing his hold on your arm.
“thank you.” you mumbled, a small sniffle accompanying the words.
his thumb swept over a fallen tear and he shook his head, “don’t thank me.” lanky arms found their way around your shoulders and pulled you closer, your face pressed flush against the curve of his neck. the familiar brush of his lips met the side of your scalp as he placed a gentle kiss there. “I love you.”
you readjusted yourself in his embrace just enough for you to lean back and capture his lips in a tentative kiss. “I love you, too.”

A study of wolves: chapter three
chapter one ✩ chapter two
Paul Lahote x Reader
Tumblr media
- The previous day -
“Why did we even agree to this study, clearly she is going to notice signs that the wolves around here aren’t always of the typical gray variety?” Paul questioned the tribal council, pacing at the foot of the meeting table.
“Son we didn’t have a choice, the majority of the land you boys protect falls out of the reservation. It was going ahead anyway, so it made sense to at least have someone from the council always there to steer clear of anything suspicious,” Billy placated, hands up in surrender to the clearly riled man.
“Billy’s right Paul,” Sam chimed in “there wasn’t an option. Plus this way we get income from the cabin and a guide. You know we need this to complete the maintenance on the school.”
“So you are okay with us becoming a study? Because we all know between the cameras and her field observation training we’re fucked. There is no way we can always play it safe with these cold ones lurking around, a mistake is inevitable.”
“Son,” Billy continued “it’s not even like it’s an issue anymore. You’ve imprinted on her, so she is one of us now. It’s well within reason to tell her what is going on.”
“No” Paul growled. “That is my choice and it’s absolutely not happening. Some silly idea that she’s my soulmate doesn’t change the fact she is a complete stranger. We don’t how she’ll react, there is no way I’m risking it,”
“You might not have a choice if she catches sight of something she’s not supposed to.”
“This is my only choice, and I’m not letting anyone taking it from me. Not even you.”
Billy sighed, resting his head in his hands. The chief was well aware what Paul’s reservations were really about. “Son, I know you didn’t want this. But please understand this is a blessing from the spirits, fighting this will only hurt you,”
“I refuse to let my choice be taken away, and I refuse to let hers. I will help to keep our secret safe but once this project is over she will leave and life will continue. And I don’t want anyone to try to do anything to change that.”
✩₊˚.⋆☾⋆⁺₊✧ ✩₊˚.⋆☾⋆⁺₊✧
The sky was clear but the southerly winds whipped ferociously along the cliff face where Paul parked up. The great blue expanse of ocean was mesmerising, stretching out as far as the eye could see. It was in moments like this you felt solace, out of the noise and bustle of large cities. Just the sounds of birds, waves crashing and winds whistling amongst the trees. After taking the moment to ground yourself you made your way over to the truck bed to grab your gear, Paul doing the same with his own bag.
“What’s the plan?”
“Well the most recent report says the last sighting was off this trail here,” you said pointing across the gravel road and to the unsigned trail head. “It happened in a clearing about four miles in so I think we head out there keeping an eye out on the way.”
“Sure thing boss. Anything you want me to keep an eye out for?”
“If you wouldn’t mind looking for prints, the ground should be pretty muddy under the vegetation cover so anything that’s been here since the previous rainfall last week should have left a mark. I don’t think we’ll actually come across a wolf since they’re nocturnal. But hopefully we can find a good spot for at least one of the cameras,”
✩₊˚.⋆☾⋆⁺₊✧ ✩₊˚.⋆☾⋆⁺₊✧
For the past hour you had been hiking in relative silence. Paul lead the way, keeping a steady but maintainable pace. The trail itself was muddy but relatively flat, and wide enough you didn’t have to squeeze past any bushes. So far you hadn’t spotted anything apart from a wild rabbit that darted across the path in front of you.
Seeing a fallen trunk parallel to the path up ahead you decided now was as good a time as any to have a break.
“You keen for some morning tea?” You called to your companion, who gave you a nod and slowed down.
Perching on the thankfully stable trunk you pulled out the first of the sandwich haul.
“What’s your poison; PB & J or ham and cheese?”
“Whatever one you don’t want,”
“Na-ah, that wasn’t my question now was it. What kind of boss would I be if I just gave my worker scraps?”
“A standard one,” Paul smirked. Before grabbing the ham and cheese sandwich from the lunchbox. “Thanks”
“So Paul,” you began after a few bites of food, “what do you usually do besides leading clueless city girls around the forest ?”
“Thanks for making me sound like a serial killer. Plus I wouldn’t call you clueless,”
“I mean in the serial killer equation I think I’d rather be clueless. Would be worse if I willingly followed a killer into the middle of nowhere. Now answer the question idiot,” you laughed affectionately.
“Whatever the council needs really. Usually some form of construction or land maintenance,”
“Do you enjoy it? I imagine it’s nice to be working with your hands and doing something different every day?”
“I do. It’s not what I had anticipated doing, but it keeps me busy. I don’t think I could ever work in an office.”
“What did you think you’ll be doing?” You paused a second, and realised you may be getting too intrusive with someone you didn’t know. Something about Paul just made you want to dig into what made him…well him. “Sorry you don’t have to answer that. I’ll just shut up,”
“Don’t worry [y/n], it’s fine. But you have to swear you won’t tell anyone,”
“I solemnly swear,” you declared grabbing his left pinkie with your right.
“Child,” Pull laughed, before wrapping his pinkie around your own. “I also thought by now I’d be travelling the country. Maybe working with animals on my way, at a ranch or something like that,”
“Nothing wrong with that at all. In fact it’s smart, animals are obviously much better than people,”
“Obviously,” he snorted.
“May I asked what changed?”
“Ah just council things really, it’s my duty to the tribe.”
You could tell he was skirting around the answer, but you knew it would be beyond rude to pry any further.
“Well there’s still plenty of time to try something new,” you declared as you swung your backpack on. “Shall we continue future cowboy?”

What Else Can I Do?
Azriel x Reader - Chapter 2
Here is Chapter 2! I got motivated seeing everyone liking the first chapter so I wrote chapter 2 as soon as I could. Enjoy!
Chapter 1 Chapter 2 Chapter 3
Summary: Reader ends up geting turned fae and befriends Elain and gets super close with her. But Reader notices Elain gets treated differently, and Reader would like to change that but a certain batboy always gets in her way of trying to help her friend and under her skin.
Word Count: 3.2 K (Sorry I had way to much fun with this one so it’s a long one 😅)
Warnings: Enemies to lovers, slight dislike for inner circle, dual POV 👀, fem! Reader, they just can’t get each other out of their heads
Author's Note: Soooo remember when I said Azriel and Reader will be interacting with one another?.... Yeah sorry that is not happening in this chapter. BUT don't be mad, Azriel is in this chapter he just hasn't "found" Reader yet. :)
Side Note: Apologies for any grammar mistakes. And yes I did listen to "What Else Can I Do" from Encanto as I wrote this.
Tumblr media
You and Elain walk through the forest on the outskirts of Velaris, not going too deep so you guys can remember how to get back. The snaps of twigs is heard from under your boots. Your skirts perfectly covering your legs to stop tall blades of grass or sticks from scratching both of your skins.
You take a deep breath in, smelling the crisp, tree trunk filled air, breathing in new life after being tucked away in the Town House for quite some time. The lush trees, grass, and needle-covered path reminds you of your home when you were a kid. You used to sneak off and play in the woods for hours with the other kids in the neighborhood. The nostalgic feeling puts a smile on your face.
Elain stops walking and stares up and around her at the trees that seem to almost cover the sky above. You notice her eyes look at the scenery around with fondness. “Beats the boring walls of the Town House doesn’t it?” You ask playfully ask you walk over to her. She nods, “It certainly does.” She pauses for a moment until she looks at you. “Are you sure this is ok?” She asks with worryness in her voice. “I mean, like I know I said yes to this but now that we’re here I am worried what they will do if they find out.” You chuckle, “Hey, you can’t back out now. We are already here. Besides I did leave a note on the dining table saying we will be out and be back soon incase they do come back earlier. So they have no reason to freak out because I literally told them where we are.” You take a moment and your mind immediately goes to Azriel. “Well maybe Azriel will be a prick and throw a fit.” You roll your eyes and think of what he might say if he found out that you took Elain to the woods for a walk.
You scowl, just thinking about how Azriel will yell at you for “taking a delicate girl with no supervision to the woods” and how “she could have gotten hurt”. It infuriates you that anything thing you do, you always think of what Azriel might say. He would always be the first to cross your mind when you would think of doing something or question yourself if you should be doing a certain thing. More than likely, you would end up doing whatever it was you were contemplating because it would rile you up just thinking about him telling you what you could and couldn’t do. Even if you knew what you were doing wasn’t the best choice, it was a choice he would disprove of and to you that is all that mattered.
“Hey Azriel isn’t that bad.” Elain tried to say in a convincing tone to try and calm you down. You whip your head towards her with a glare in your eyes. The glare not directed at her but to who she was talking about. “Really?” You say unconvinced. “Azriel, the one who makes it his mission to scold me for almost anything for the simple fact that I don’t agree how he treats you. The same Azriel that doesn’t like me because I talk back to him when I am pretty sure he expects me to just nod my head and agree. The same person in which we can’t even sit next to each other in the same room or we start bickering about how the other one is sitting in the chair the wrong way.” Elain looks at you, at lost for words. You nod your head. “Yeah exactly. Sounds like he is a great guy.” You sarcastically say as you roll your eyes.
Elain grabs your hand. “Hey, sorry. I didn’t mean to upset you. I know you guys don’t see eye to eye.” She looks at you with her doe apologetic eyes. “Let’s forget about them for now. Like you said earlier, we are already here. So let’s continue on our walk and take in the scenery.” Her soft voice calming you down almost instantly. You release a deep breath. “Annnnnnd I want to see this improvement of your power that you told me.” Elain says with excitement. “Well it’s not really improvement, more like testing out what else I can do?” You state as a question. Elain wraps her arm around your elbow and starts to pull you along the forest path. “Well then, let’s find out!”
——————————————————
You were getting frustrated, you frown at the lavender flower that you just grow from the ground. “Another flower”, you think to yourself. You huff as you stand up, looking at the different colored flowers and plants circling you in which you unwantedly grew. You have been at this for only 15 minutes, and even though that is not a very long time it felt like an hour past for you. “Maybe you just need a break?” Elain’s voice calls you out of your negative thoughts. She sat on a rock to the side a few feet from where you decided to sit on the forest floor. You walk over to her with your head down in defeat. “I don’t understand, I was able to make a small cactus in my room that one time but now it just seems like my power went back to making just pretty things.” You huff out as you plop yourself next to Elain on the rock. “Why did the Caldron give me the power to grow things when it can only grow pretty flowers, plants, and vines?!” You annoyingly say. “Like I can’t think of a reason why I won’t be able to grow like giant trees, or moss, or poisonous plants, or even venus fly traps!” You look at the sky hoping the Mother can give you an answer. “Maybe a special condition needs to be met?” Elain says in an encouraging voice. “Like maybe, you have to be meditating, or be fulled with anger. Something like that.” You look at her questionably. “I don’t think a “special condition” needs to be met. I was able to do it once before but now it just seems like the power is blocked somehow.” You try to explain to Elain. It frustrated you not knowing how you were able to grow the cacti some time ago and now you can’t. “Well what were you doing when you grew the cactus? Maybe whatever it was triggered the cactus to grow?” You sit there thinking hard on Elain’s question. You run through the memory again to try and find an answer, a clue as to what triggered the cactus to grow.
It was early in the afternoon, you were sitting on your window sill looking out at Velaris. You did this sometimes where you would sit and just watch the city at any point in the day. There was no particular reason why you did it, you just enjoyed not having to think about anything and just watch the world move forward. You started fiddling with some vines you grew from your hands, twisting and turning them. You then started to add small flowers buds to the vines. The small buds slowly began to bloom into small flowers of a soft blue color. As you were growing new vines and flowers into the mix, you stood up from the window sill and began to pace slowly in your room as you concentrated on making a flower crown. As you were mindlessly making the crown you started humming a song. You don’t know what song, you just started to hum a tune. As you hummed, you mindlessly were growing this intricate flower pattern of blue and purple flowers. Not realizing that the vines sprouting from the crown were growing towards the floor of your room and started to spread across the floor. You were stuck in your own little world humming a song that you didn’t notice that on the floor one of the vines started to grow vertically, and started to take a different shape. It was only then when you finished making the flower crown and you finished humming the song that you noticed the little cactus with a small blue flower on top next to your feet. Your eyes widen, you never knew you could do that. Then you looked around the room and realized that you let your power go a little bit too much. Vines and flowers spread across the floor of the bedroom and up onto the walls. You did notice that the vines and flowers looked bigger than they normally should. You marveled at what you created and wanted to know if you could do more.
You blink as you recall the memory of that day. Now thinking back, you did realize that you were very calm and you weren’t actually trying to grow anything at all. “I was just humming a song while mindlessly making a flower crown.” You begin to say to Elain. “I-I think I wasn’t really focussing on anything to be honest. I was actually in my own world subconsciously making the crown.” Elain thinks for a moment and then says, “Maybe that what it is then. Don’t think about it too hard and be relaxed.” You look at her with almost a confused puppy look in your eyes. “Well how do I do that? I can’t just not think about what I want to grow. And before you say meditate like you said before you know damn well I am bad at that.” Elain thinks for a moment, she then smiles and stands up pulling you with her. “Well you said you were humming a song. Then lets hum a song and dance together.” She says completely serious. You look at her not believing what she is suggesting because this is a little out of character for her. “Are you serious?” You question making sure you heard her right. “100 percent.” She nods and smiles at you. “Come on, you were the one saying that I needed to start being more confident in myself and being able to voice my opinion out loud. I think dancing and singing in the middle of the forest without a care in the world will help me let go of my… “delicate nature”. Plus it will help you relax and not think too hard on your power.” You look at her and seeing the determination in her eyes tells you she is super serious about this.
You give her the biggest smile and giggle as you grab her hand and start to spin her around. Elain laughs and she continues to dance with you with no music. She spins you around and you guys continue this unchoreographed dance with smiles, giggles, and laughs coming from both of you. To have some fun you begin to throw flower pedals in the air like confetti and they fall down around both of you, some getting caught in your guys’s hairs. As you guys dance, jump, and spin, flowers begin to grow surrounding you guys coming from you as the centerpoint. You don’t realized it at first but once you do, you feel a slight weight of power being lifted like the locked door holding your power back was slowly getting unlocked. It felt like the flowers danced with you; they didn’t feel like you were forcing them to grow. It felt like they listened to what you wanted in the moment and obeyed you. You took a hold of that feeling and continued to run with it. As you did a hand full of cacti popped up from the ground. You and Elain stopped dancing and looked at the cacti with amazement. Joyous yells came from both of you, happy that the dancing worked. Who knew having a good a time could unlock a power?
With the new found feeling of your power and determination in your eyes you grab a hold of that closed door on your power open it. The rush of energy rushed through you and it almost seemed your sensed were heighten even more. Everything, touch, taste, sight, smell, and hearing. But it was a different change to your senses. It’s like you could feel the sort of life energy flowing through the grass beneath your boots; it seemed like you could hear the trees dancing as the wind blew past, to the whispered song that the flowers sung. Nature smelled, different. Like more alive. You couldn’t explain it, but it felt like nature came alive and you could understand it.
“Hey! Reader are you ok?” Elain tugs on your arm worry written on her face as she sees you starring off. You blink a couple of times, shaking off the shock of your unlocked power. You lift your hands up and in a few seconds an enlarged sapphire blue flower springs up from the ground. The massive size of the flower scares Elain and she stumbles back a few steps. After a few seconds it takes for Elain to recover, she stares at the flower and then at you. “Holy wow. You can do that?!” Elains voice laced with interest and excitement. She walks over to the massive flower, each pedal being her size, to get a better look up close. “I think I can a lot more than that.” You smile walking over to stand next to her. She turns to you intrigued, “Well then let’s see it. What else can you do?”
——————————————————
Azriel POV
Shadows disburse as Azriel lands on the balcony of the Town House in the late afternoon. He sighs, glad to be back in Velaris. The mission that Rhys sent him on not only took longer than it needed to take, but Rhys could have easily done it himself. But being High Lord is tiresome and requires a lot of work, so his attention was needed else were.
Azriel steps into the Town House ready for a quick bath and a cup of tea to help the incoming headache that he knows will receive, before dinner is served. His mind on the warm bath he was thinking of taking was interrupted by the sound of heavy footsteps, a door swinging open, and a yell. “SHE’S NOT HERE!” Nesta’s worried and panicked voice echoes throughout the manor.
Azriel stops in his tracks for a mear moment and briskly begins to walks in the direction of Nesta’s voice. His shadows start to swarm him, feeling their master’s concern over the commotion so they try to comfort him. “Whose not here? What happened?” Azriel thinks as he makes his way through the manor.
Azriel follows the yelling and ends up at Elain’s bedroom. Standing at the entrance to her room with the door wide open Azriel sees Nesta panicked written face and Cassian standing next to her with a comforting hand on her shoulder to try and calm her down. “What’s wrong? Did something happen to Elain?” Azriel’s voice grabs the couples attention to see him take a few steps into the room. “We can’t find Elain.” Nesta answers worriedly. “Or Reader.” Cassian adds. “We looked around the manor and neither of them are here.” Cassian states as he walks towards Azriel. “What! Are you sure you checked every room?” Azriel questions with hope laced into his voice. Before Cassian could get a word in, Azriel sent out his shadows to scour the manor for any signs of the girls.
His shadows come back and tells him that you and Elain were gone. Azriel was about to send them back out to search throughout Velaris for you guys but one shadow whispered to him that there was a note on the dining table. Without a word to Nesta or Cassian, Azriel speed walk to the dining hall.
He walks in and he does noticed a small folded piece of paper on the large wooden table. Azriel picks it up, unfolds it and reads it.
“Incase you guys get back earlier than we do. Elain and I are going for a walk in the woods. We shouldn’t be too long, so don’t worry.”
P.S. We won’t stray too far so don’t panic Azriel
-Reader :)
Azriel crumbles the piece of paper and stuffs it in one of his leather pockets. He can’t believe you took Elain out of the Town House when he specifically told Elain to stay inside until either him or Nesta and Cassian got back to escort her if she wished to go somewhere. He should have known that you would convince Elain to do the opposite of what he says. He should have either convinced Cassian and Nesta to take you with them or forced you to go with him on his mission so that THIS wouldn’t happen. Frustration builds inside Azriel as he makes his way back to the balcony, getting ready to fly to the forest to bring Elain back and to yell at you for clearly going against his wishes.
“Az!” Cassian's voice is heard from behind the shadowsinger, as his heavy footsteps come closer. “Did you find them?” Azriel shakes his head. “No, but I know where they are.” Azriel takes the note from his pocket and holds it up for Cassian. “Reader thought it would a great idea to take Elain to the woods for a walk.” Sarcasm and annoyance fell from his voice. “I swear, that woman is something else.” Azriel states with irritation. “Hey, how about we focus on finding Reader and Elain and then you can decide if you want to bicker with her. Even though I think you are being too hard on her.” Cassian says as calmly as he could to try and settle Azriel down. Azriel doesn’t respond, he just glares at him. “Let’s just find them and bring the back.” Azriel says as his wings shoot him to the sky and carry him towards the forest with Cassian in tow.
You always did this. Ever since you became friends with Elain, you always disproved of him. It frustrated Azriel to no end that you would always talk back and bicker at him. He disliked how anytime he would tell Elain to do something you would always have something to say back. Even if it didn’t regard Elain, you always wanted to say something. This wasn’t the first time you pulled a stunt like this off. There were a few times where he specifically told you not to do something and what did you do? You did the complete opposite. It’s like you like to push his buttons, get him riled up, and angry at you. He doesn’t understand why you hate so much. All he has done, or tried to do, was to protect Elain because, unlike you with your extroverted nature, she has a softer nature. And Azriel, including the rest of the inner circle, want her to be comfortable and secure after everything that she went through. The same treatment would be applied to you if you had her personally but you don’t. You have to have a very friendly, social butterfly type personality that Azriel tries to hate, but subconsciously finds it interesting, intriguing even.
Azriel shakes his head from the thought of you. Lately his head has been filed with thoughts of you. Anything he did or said, he would always think, “what would Reader say? How would she react?” He would imagine different scenarios of you getting upset at him or throwing a sly remark his way. It perplexes Azriel that you have been taking over his mind, and it aggravated him.
Tumblr media
That is it for chapter 2! Hope you enjoyed it! So glad I finally brought Azriel into the story. As you guys can see by the amount of words I have, I had to delay Reader's and Azriel's interaction with one another by one more chapter. Sorry! :( But man don't they hate each other so much? Gosh, just can't keep each other out of their own heads! Well anyway, that is all! If you want to be added to the taglist please leave a comment and I will add you! I hope I did the taglist correctly I have never done one before so if someone can give me advice on how to do one properly that would be great because Google did not help at all. P.S. Just to let you guys know I will gone for vacation for about a week, I can't promise you guys anything but I will try to write what I can so that when I come back I can finish it up the next chapter as soon as possible and post it for you guys. I hate that I will have to keep y'all waiting. But until then take care! :)

Shaking off the rust to write something for the first time in years so please forgive any mistakes. I tried to edit but there's only so much you can stare at something. (Unless you're Azriel looking at Elain.)
This was originally supposed to only be a few paragraphs of Elain and Azriel on a secret picnic but quickly spiraled.
Mostly Azriel pov oriented so a lot of simping and being down bad in a pathetically hot way. I hope I captured the vibes I was going for (romantic and horny). If you take the time to read, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did writing it!
Part 2 - my god has answered me (Elain pov)

A Universe so Divine
Part 1 - god is my help

They had situated themselves on top of a blanket on a grassy, tree covered hill overlooking Velaris. The tall, ancient trunks encircled the area, providing a sense of concealment, as the setting sun covered them and the city peaking through the bushes with a quiet golden glow.
Or maybe that's just how everything seemed when he was with her. Golden.
Azriel had taken her here for peace and quiet and for them to finally be completely alone. No one to linger around the Townhouse, halting them from acting on their desires, to come into the room suddenly and startle them apart when the need to be close to each other became to powerful to resist. It wasn't often they could get away like this, but both of them valued the time and made sure to enjoy every second they had no matter how scarce or brief.
Elain had packed a basket like normal and they ate sugary jams and home baked goods of her own creation as they talked easily and free between each other about their day.
Elain sent him teasing glances while she nibbled on a strawberry jam laced cracker--and he had responded with devouring, hungry stares, taking in her uncovered neck and shoulders, how the gauzy, dusty pink dress she had worn today dipped low and the sun’s rays highlighted the dark outline of her body through the thin material. He had to remember to chew his food to at a normal pace.
She was going to be the death of him.
Under other circumstances, eating anything Elain cooked would have been savored and enjoyed slowly but given how often they were truly and utterly alone, Azriel did not even want to spare the time to eat. At least not jam.
But he did, if only to make her happy. Anything to make her happy.
It didn't take long after they had finished for him to be rewarded for his patience as Elain sat up on her knees and stretched her arms out to him. Elain's body quivered with laughter as he greedily pulled her into his lap, her thighs naturally situating themselves on either side of his hips. Their arms grasping at each other like a lifeline as they thrilled in the physical closeness that was often denied them.
For long a moment, they sat there like statues forgotten by time. Eyes closed, foreheads placed together as they took in each others breath, proximity, essence.
Azriel relished the pressure of her body against his, at the sight and scent of her overwhelming his senses. His hands roamed her figure, mapping the dips and curves of her form to commit to memory till he can hold her again.
Elain's hands also explored, taking in the power of his arms, the set of his shoulders, before coming to cup each side of his face in her palms. One hand glided softly along his cheek, warm and velvet against his skin as her fingers found and stroked the roundness of his ears with a gentleness that bordered on obscene.
When Azriel was younger, he resented his blunted ears that marked him as less than, wishing his were pointed like Rhysand's--the mark of the high fae.
Now, Azriel wouldn't care what his ears looked like-pointed, blunt, webbed, furry--as long she kept gingerly trailing her fingertips against the sensitive parts of skin.
Azriel bit back a groan and swallowed heavily, trying to keep himself under control as the desire he always had simmering in him around Elain broke free and rose to engulf him. Even with his eyes closed and his focus on mastering himself, he could feel the triumphant smile on her face at the response she knew she'd elicit, the little minx. This was their game, how long they could withstand the chaste gestures before someone shattered, before the innocent brush of fingers became feral, carnal, became a need.
So far, they had a pretty even score.
He had to touch her, had to mitigate the craving welling within him, had to have her bare skin against his own no matter how minute. He brought one of his arms up from around her body to rest his hand against her exposed neck, noting with a certain sense of male gratification how she angled her head to give him better access. His scarred fingers tangled in the loose strands of her silky hair, as his hand slid back to settle against her nape, thumb coming to massage against the pulsing point under her jaw.
He felt her tremble from the texture of his scarred hands skimming across her skin, heard the shaky intake of her breath as Elain also fought to restrain herself. His hands were another insecurity about himself he didn't care for till he learned all the exquisite sounds he could call forth out of her just by touch alone.
Grinning, he opened his eyes to take in her warm, sultry, doe eyed stare, a rich brown that sparkled when caught in stray sunbeams filtering in through the leaves. He could get--did-- get lost in those eyes. He would happily drown in her gaze and never come up for air if left to his own desires.
He didn't blink as he watched her intense introspection lower to his lips, flashing quickly back up when his widening smirk alerted her to the fact that he had noticed. A light dust of pink began to cover her cheeks to match her dress and she quickly averted her gaze to her hands, to focus on the human like ears he possessed.
A diminutive curve of her brow, a tightening of the eyes. A moment and then the already barely perceptible expression was over like it had never been but Azriel noticed. He noticed everything about her.
He didn't need to be a daemati to know what had haunted her thoughts however briefly.
"Do you still miss it?" he asked softly.
Elain's attention shifted back to his golden glower, a small, knowing smile dimpling the sides of her mouth as she appreciated that he saw her--that from the very first he's always seen her—that neither of them had to verbally state what it was. Being human and all that had come with it.
"No," she shook her head gently, that great mane of captured sunlight hovering around her shoulders and sending a wave of her scent for him to breath in.
"For a long time I...," she trailed off, withdrawing her hand and placing it against his chest. He could of cursed himself for bringing it up, for marring their precious time alone together, for the touch of darkness that clouded her features. His arm around her waist strengthened, hauling her close to him as if by sheer proximity he could protect her from anything--even her own mind.
He clutched her hand against his chest between them in his own and pressed hard against his Illyrian leathers so she could feel the steady beat within him. A heart that beat only for her.
"I did," she continued, shyly peering up at him from under her long lashes," but now...I don't think I could go back even if I still wanted to."
A relief always to hear the words from her own lips. There was a period where her feelings were quite the opposite--when he and everyone close to her worried if the Cauldron, the metamorphosis, the murky abyss of her unknown powers and the rapid decay of the life she had known would kill her.
But Elain had endured, recovered, in the face of such misfortune and now flourished like a butterfly emerging from it's chrysalis. Azriel could only thank the Mother that she included him in her new found life she was making for herself.
"Though..." she began again, the hand not currently confined in his own rising absentmindedly to hover next to her head. "It took some getting used to...these." These being newly pointed ears--the most telling and damning of her alteration. "It was hard to see my reflection somedays so I..." she hesitated a second before resuming, "I covered them with my hair so I wouldn't have to be constantly reminded every time I passed a mirror, glimpsed a shiny surface, saw myself in someone's eyes."
Azriel understood. There was a memory from a lifetime ago where he had also been locked away in a sunless chasm, his life not his own and his body corrupted outside of his control. Looking at the rough scarred hand that caressed his piece of sunlight given flesh, he understood.
"Well," he said, voice pitched low as he leaned in closer to her, releasing her hand and gathering up a thick lock of her soft tresses to tuck behind her delicately pointed ear to reveal the appendage to his eye.
Elain instinctively copied his movement, leaning in to meet him midway so their lips could connect in a much overdue kiss but he pulled away. He chuckled at her bewildered expression and gave her an admonishing look to keep her in place as he leaned in again to her bare shoulder.
This close, he inhaled deeply the smell of roses and bread, of jasmine and soil. Of home. His home. Her.
He kissed the length of her shoulder then up her neck to her ear, repressing the growl that threatened to erupt from him with the low roll of her hips into his own, of the way her breath quickened in his ear, how hear head fell back to balance in the palm of his hand at her neck, silently asking for more. The arm around her waist lowered for him to slip his hand under her already rucked up dress, to grab at the ample offering of her bottom and squeeze till her flesh overflowed through his fingers.
"I think they are lovely," he whispered to her, allowing his tongue to dart out and trace along the fine ridge of her ear, to taste her. A tremor traveled down her body that Azriel could feel in every pore of his being. He blew slow and tender onto the edge of her ear and discerned with pleasure the tip of her ear quiver in response.
"Everything about you is lovely Elain from the tips of your ears," here he stopped to press his lips gently against her temple as his hand on her buttocks guided her to grind on his confined, straining cock, "to the bottom of your feet." He would kiss those too if he could. He would smother her with kisses everywhere he could reach, mark her body with touches of adoration from his lips, praise her like a sermon with his mouth until any thought of her not being completely and entirely perfect left her mind. Human or fae.
He observed with pleasure the tinged pink color now marring the fragile tips of her ears and he knew the color would match with the blush that now undoubtedly heated her cheeks. He would have to ask for her to display her ears more often when they were not alone, to see if he could evoke the same response in her in a secret language that only they two knew when surrounded by others.
He felt her hand still pressed between their bodies claw viscously at his shirt, her nails piercing the leather as she began to move her hips in earnest against him, her covered core against the large bulge that he desperately wanted to free from his pants.
"Azriel," Elain panted hot and heavy to his hearing, her voice laced with want and demand as her other hand came up to entwine her fingers into his hair and tug backwards. He chucked darkly and obeyed for what else could he do. He was hers to do with as she willed.
When their gazes clashed again his shy flower was gone, though the blush remained ever present. Instead she now stared at him with a look that burned, that scorched his soul with a craving, a longing, a thirst no water could quench.
With a dominating thrust of her hips and hands, she shoved him to fall back onto the ground with her still on top, thighs clenched to his sides trembling uncontrollably. A hiss escaped him at her insistence, at her need, his hands automatically grabbing her hips to bring her down onto his hard length while simultaneously bucking up into her.
"Kiss me," she commanded, inclining over him to curtain the face of their tryst with her magnificent hair. Her chest heaved and her breath came out in gasping cries of untapped desire.
He could deny her nothing and with dusk falling all around them and the stars winking into existence, their lips lay claim to each other in a collision of ferocity and passion.
Finally.
god is my help

Should have picked a different Apartment
Contains Unwilling M/M vore with implied digestion
Going into the apartment that gave the thief bad vibes in the first place was the thief’s first mistake knocking over a vase was the second.
“Hell” cursed the thief hopping against hope, that no one had heard the crash of the vase.
Unfortunately for him the owner of the apartment had heard it, and very casually walked into the kitchen from the bedroom. “Can I help you” he asked in a polite manner that never the less held a threat.
“Oh hell”
“Indeed”
“Stay back I’m armed” warned the thief
“I quiver with fear” replied the owner a shark toothed grin spreading over his face
The thief swallowed, he hadn’t considered how big this guy really was when he’d made that threat but, taking him all in - he was about twice as wide as he was, and nearly a foot taller.
“Don’t even think about calling the cops!” He said attempting to gain some kind of control over the situation.
“Goodness me no” said the owner “I would never drag law enforcement here to deal with something so trivial”
“I’m trivial?” Asked the thief angrily in spite of his fear, yes he did have a reputation to uphold, in spite of the fact that he was currently frozen in fear.
“Yes” replied the owner “In a few hours, maybe a bit longer, you won’t be here” he considered something “Unless you want to get out right now that is, and save me the trouble”
“Hey! I think you’ve gotten mixed up with who is making the demands here!” snapped the thief. Less angry and more… huffy.
“Oh you are quite correct” replied the owner still smiling all the while - the same shark toothed calm smile.
“So, are you gonna give me all your money?” said the thief. It wasn’t actually a demand, it was a question. He really would have preferred to just get out of here, but his pride demanded that he at least make the attempt to leave here with some kind of valuables to put in his bag on the Balcony.
The owner stepped from the shadows, into an area that was bathed in moonlight and, shit thought the thief he really was Big, not big with a small b, but Big with a big B. He had short brownish hair which sat in a quiff, blue eyes, very lightly tanned skin, and it was impossible to not note his physique - he was positively herculean - the dressing gown he was wearing was only highlighting the thick round of his pecs which were visible at the top, and each of his thighs were as thick as a tree trunk - well maybe not literally but metaphorically yes!
“Is this a hold up?” he asked inquisitively still smiling “If it is, I feel the need of introductions, since we might be here a while - my name is Cecil”
“I won’t tell you mine!” replied the thief
“Very well” replied Cecil and thief could have sworn he added under his breath “It’s not as though food needs a name”
“Well I was just going to - ” quick as it had been said Cecil had moved forward at speed closing the distance between them, looming over the thief who gulped in fear again - he really didn’t want to see what this guy was going to do to him.
“Go?”
“Um”
“I wouldn’t like you to come all this way for nothing”
“No no, I want you to let me go”
“You know, I realised you looked familiar - though granted with those balaclavas every thief looks similar, but your build well that’s very distinctive - you robbed this building before didn’t you” his voice suddenly became very dangerous
The thief did remember it had been a few nights ago - an old lady’s apartment she had gotten up tried to take him, and he’d pushed her to the ground then he’d robbed her apartment. Not that there had been that much to take, only an antique necklace with a locket, it had been a waste though - too distinctive to get anything for it.
“Your silence, whether of fear or guilt is very confirming” said Cecil “Luckily for you, she isn’t dead” not thought Cecil that that’ll change your fate “But you did steal something of great sentimental value to her, a necklace, with a locket, made of gold?”
His and his boyfriend’s neighbour was an old, old lady who had once had to flee her home - the only treasure she had from it was in a necklace her parents gave to her as a child it contained a locket inside of which was a series of small locks of hair from her siblings. “Uh yeah” said the thief nervously, really regretting shoving that old lady now.
“Where is it?”
“In my bag”
“Which is where?”
“Oh the balcony”
Cecil moved to look at the dark balcony and saw the idiot thief attempting to lunge at him with a heavy lamp.
A few things happened in quick succession: first, Cecil dodged the swing, second the thief stumbled backwards losing his footing and finally third Cecil lunging forward like a python wrapped his huge arms around the thief opened his mouth wider than should have ben possible and shoved him headfirst into his mouth.
The thief shrieked in surprise and started kicking his legs trying to get out, but he was doomed Cecil slurped trying to see if any flavour came off of his meal. He disliked eating people like this he could never be sure that they were really clean, but oh well he was doing his part to keep crime off the street, and only part of his muscle came from the cheat of devouring people There was also the issue that clothes stood in the way of tasting the guy properly, there wasn’t much meat on him anyway. Sometimes - infact most of the time he preferred them this way - lean and mean easy to subdue though they still kicked up a storm in his gut speaking of which.
Angling his head back to help gravity do the rest he grabbed the socks and shoes off of the thief's feet and tossed them to the one side. In a few seconds the thief was curled in the stomach of Cecil whose dressing gown came loose exposing his tan thief filled gut and who let out a loud deep belch and moaned.
“you ate me, you actually ate me!!” Yelled the thief
“You tried to kill me with a lamp buddy” said Cecil
There were footsteps and in stepped Blake who merely sighed at Cecil’s gut. Whilst Cecil sat down on the sofa and spread his legs - the better to accommodate the expanse with.
“hey darling, said Cecil grinng at Blake who walked into the room and sat beside him
“it’s the middle of the night” replied Blake grumpily
“hey I didn’t choose what time this ruffian decided to perform home invasion!” Said Cecil cheerily
“you are way too upbeat at all times” grumbled Blake as he reached out with one hand and began rubbing Cecil’s stomach coaxing up another belch
“You are way too good at this” sighed Cecil dropping his head back and wrapping an arm around Blake’s torso pulling him against the dome of flesh that bulged occasionally with the struggles of its unwilling occupant in spite of himself Blake grinned and began rubbing with both hands as he shifted himself to straddle Cecil earning him a grunt of surprise and a belch as Cecil placed a hand on either side of Blake to keep him there. Blake leaned forward and tenderly kissed Cecil on his lips Cecil responded by wrapping his arms more firmly about Blake and giving a small moan of pleasure as Blake’s hands continued to massage him feeling as though he had found a good sized pocket of air Blake leaned away from Cecil as a gurgle starting in his stomach rapidly made it’s way up and out of Cecil’s mouth who had been sitting there eyes slightly heavy lidded
“Bouarrrrrrp” he moaned and Blake immediately fell back upon him “You are so so hot when you are like this” he whispered in Cecil’s ear “all full and belching” Cecil loved the praise from his gorgeous Boyfriend but…
“I’m hardly full” he replied “in fact I could scarf down 2, 3 more of these guys no problem” he whispered in Blakes ear he belched again smaller this time yet he chuckled as he saw Blake blush and giggle “in fact I still could do with another snack” he bit gently on Blakes ear relishing how it made Blake tingle all over “For some reason whenever I eat you - I feel at my fullest, my belly stretched to the max like I’ve eaten a full buffet plus some assholes that bother us on the way home - all of that just from you stretching me out” his voice was filled with desire, but it softened to gentle tenderness “all that from just you - my favourite 5 star meal”
“Cecil…” said Blake his hands moving from Cecil’s gut to his face “you are the most beautiful man” he kissed him moaning as Cecil’s hands began to grip his body until they were interrupted by a voice from Cecil’s gut
“Ewww, excuse me if you are going to, engage in activities then show me some respect and let me out”
“How are you still alive?” asked a gobsmacked Blake to Cecil’s gut “That last belch should have taken you to the Flats in the sky” he looked at Cecil who was similarly surprised
“Wait what the hell?” Yelled the thief
“Hey buddy good food shouldn’t talk” snapped Cecil annoyed that his time with Blake was being taken up by this asshat.
“I’m not food” shrieked the thief shoving violently against Cecil’s stomach walls
“Stop speaking and squirming” Said Cecil “Squirming’s all well and good at the start really gets me going - but after a while it’s just like shut up accept your fate and digest”
“You’re going to digest me?!!!” Shrieked the thief kicking again more violently
“Stop that” groaned Cecil grasping his stomach and belching again Blake slid off of his lap and onto the floor. It was surprisingly painful getting kicked - usually it didn’t hurt this much
“Hell no, Let me out - you can’t do this”
“You shouldn’t have broken into our Flat buddy”
“I am not your Buddy” yelled the thief shoving again at Cecils stomach walls this time actually hurting him more than quite a bit, damn it felt like getting stabbed - please tell me he didn’t actually have a weapon he thought to himself
“Ow” he whined “stop”
“Ha ha ha ha” not so confident now are you - you stupid greedy musclebound glutton”
“Stop hurting him” snapped Blake getting off the floor and ramming both hands onto the squirming mass Blake may not have had the ability to devour people and turn them to mush - but he certainly had the power to deliver a fierce push the thief yelped as we felt the shove and Cecil let out a loud rumbling belch. “BOUARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRP Damn” ,he said “I must have gulped down a lot of air with that guy”. His hands returned to a much less engorged stomach.
“Would explain why he lasted so long and how despite being so scrawny he was able to give you such a bloat” said Blake whose own hands were on each of Cecil’s broad shoulders and were tracing down each of his biceps.
“Yeah” sighed Cecil “I mean he wasn’t so much scrawny as lean and thin”
“How did he taste” asked Blake
“Not of too much” replied Cecil “I was more eager to get him down than to taste him” Blake’s hand returned to and rubbed Cecil’s stomach feeling the lumps were moving weakly but not for much longer he thought
“Blake” asked Cecil
“Yes”
“Can you check the balcony please? This guy said he left his bag with Miss Olgania’s Locket in it”
“I will do that once I’m sure he can never rob Miss Olgania or us or anyone ever again” said Blake leaning forward and kissing Cecil
“Mmmmm” moaned Cecil moving forwards “My gut, my muscles - the most secure prison”
”Just right” Replied Blake smiling as his hands returned to his stomach.
Miss Valecia Olgania was aged somewhere in her seventies though she would never admit it insisting that she stopped aging at 39! She had grey hair pulled into a bun at the back of her head and wore a patterned black and white skirt and a pink top.
Upon hearing a knock at her door she moved over to it and after checking the spy-hole and seeing that it was her downstairs neighbours Cecil and Blake she unlocked, unchained and opened the door with a smile.
“Miss Olgania, it is our pleasure to return to you the locket that was stolen by the thief” said Cecil presenting the locket which was indeed within the black bag that the thief had said it was in, alongside several other presumably stolen goods which they had handed over the the police.
“Oh you really both are the kindest gentlemen!” Said Miss Olgania gladly taking the locket in her hands and holding it to her chest
“We just do our part for the community” Said Cecil
“and you are a part of it Miss Olgania” added Blake smiling
“But how did you get it back?!” Said Miss Olgania slightly puzzled - but only slightly.
Cecil laid a hand over the slight increase in thickness in his abs that was the only indication of his meal “let’s just say that he won’t be bothering you or us again any time soon.”
Miss Olgania simply smiled and laughed “Well all I can say is thank you my dears, and an invitation to my humble abode for a most ordinary meal is most certainly in order!” She invited them in and closed the door bustling over to where her calendar hung on a small hook and pulling it off, shall we say Friday night between 5 and 6?”
“That sounds wonderful said Cecil”
“Concurred” said Blake grinning
“And while we’re here why not have a cup of tea?”
“why not indeed” they chorused - after all who would refuse a cup of tea from such a nice lady?
Well I know someone who might but since he’s now part of someone who would never do so - I think we can leave him out!
Thank you so much for reading if you’ve made it this far
I very much hope you enjoyed this as much as I enjoyed writing it. Comments about grammar and spelling and punctuation would be very very welcome - I would much rather know if I’ve made a stupid mistake than not know!

Happy Valentines! ❤️ Can I get siat Mcgonagall being (especially) awesome?
The whomping willow is Minerva's fault.
She's nineteen and heartbroken. Nineteen and furious. She goes to Hagrid, because he's the only one who understands, the only one who knew Tom when he was young and yet never got caught up in the shine of his charm and intelligence.
Hagrid used to be Tom Riddle's best friend. Minerva had never believed that Myrtle was killed by his spider. Acromantulars don't kill like that. She knows that. Tom knows that.
The school board should have known it too.
But Hagrid was too brilliant for a half giant they'd let in on sufferance and expelling him had been a relief. She'd thought Tom was better than that. She'd convinced herself for a long time that he just made a mistake.
"Maybe he didn't mean it like that," Hagrid says, his large hand warm on her shoulder. "He's always had a lot of ideas."
"There's something wrong with him," she says. "And no one is listening to me!"
She'd tried to go to Dumbledore about it, but he hadn't said anythin, hadn't listened. He won't hire Tom to teach defense but he won't do anything about him either.
She supposes that he hasn't done anything to do anything about. Yet.
It will be too late then.
"I'm listening," Hagrid says, a touch defensively. "I always listen."
"I know," she says, pulling her giant mug of moonshine closer. "Thanks."
Tom isn't the man that she thought he was.
She hates that it's his mark on her skin.
So she drinks, and drinks, and drinks, and doesn't remember much after that.
The next morning she squints into the sun and looks up at the strange monstrosity of a tree hovering at the edge of the grounds. She has to stop casting drunk. They're going to stop letting her back on the grounds at some point.
"What did you do?" Hagrid asks, standing to block the sun from her eyes.
A bird tries to land on its trunk like branches and almost gets smashed to death of the trouble.
"It's fine," she says, because the answer is she has no idea. She just knows she was mad. It looks like the tree is mad too. "I can't have put that much power behind it. It'll fade eventually."

“I’m alright on the other side, what about you?”
Summary: After your death, Daryl starts to lose his mind. He hallucinates about you in the woods, taunting him. well, that's what he thinks.
Author’s Note: I had to admit, I almost cried while proofreading this, not because the story is sad but because of the amount of grammar mistakes (I have a love/hate relationship with Grammarly).
warnings: mentions of character death, violence, typically angst shit.
Word count: 1.1k
Tumblr media
Daryl's heart ached with a fierce longing for you. He spent countless nights consumed by anger and bargaining with fate, but nothing could ease the pain of your absence. The emptiness he felt inside was all-encompassing, and he knew that only you could have offered him any measure of solace.
He kept blaming himself for it every day despite your recklessness. You were torn at the hip by a walker and had to go through the hell of letting the blood flow and allowing the horde of walkers to rip through your body. Daryl tried his best to keep you alive.
He walked through the woods, away from the prison for now. It was quiet, other than the occasional squeaks of squirrels and rustles of the wind. Your death was recent, and it had an enormous impact on him. You were the type of person who feared death, so you did what you could to survive. You didn't want to give up because you were scared. He acted like a knight saving a fallen princess. It was ill-fated from the start.
You had met Daryl and his brother at the beginning of the camp when the situation was unfolding. Despite Daryl's rude attitude and his brother's questionable behavior, you always checked in on them. Making sure they were doing well. However, as the world around them crumbled, things started to change. Daryl's brother disappeared, and now you were gone too. For Daryl, his world had crumbled beneath his feet, leaving him lost in a sea of chaos and despair. Even so, you were always there for him, always willing to offer a helping hand or a kind word. You even helped him find Sophia, not because you wanted anything in return, but simply because it was the right thing to do.
But there was a saying, 'If you're a good person, you die out there.'
You were good enough to try and get him a way to escape on one run. The only thing is, you had no other way out. The best you could do was look at him with a deep sigh. The look on your face still haunts his dreams.
You left with acceptance. You didn't beg for your life at that point. It was just a sigh of acceptance, knowing there would be no way out. Back in camp, when things went wrong, you were like a scared little mouse that Daryl had to save your ass almost all the time. And it was okay for him.
"Still sulking over me?" You chuckled smugly.
Daryl felt himself jolt up from the ground. Your voice echoes through the woods. as if you were still there, sharing a cigarette with him like it always was. He enjoyed your company, and he needed it more now.
"Y/n?" Daryl breathed out.
"Hey, Dare," You puffed out smoke from your lungs as you leaned on a tree, "Guess you get a little jumpy now, huh?" The cigarette hung between your middle and pointer finger, tapping the small paper-wrapped intoxicant with your thumb to let some ash out. The ash trickled down like snow to the ground.
Daryl doesn't respond, just watching you look around at the trees as you lean back to the tree. Your eyes met him, a big grin forming on your face.
"Come on, you used to talk to me a lot. What's bothering you?" You looked at him with a chilled-out smile.
"Nothin' just missed you..." Daryl said, his voice hoarse and husky.
"I missed you too, Dare," You chuckled, "at least you were the last person I saw when I died..." You shrugged sheepishly. Your tone was casual, almost as if you weren't terrified anymore.
"Don't..." Daryl sighed deeply, "Don't remind me... please."
"Well, you gotta live with it," You scoffed, now on a tree trunk, taking a sip of a beer. Every time Daryl looked away, you started moving from one place to another, "live to fight another day, Daryl."
"You're the one who killed yourself to save me," Daryl spat as you looked over at him lazily.
"I didn't kill myself, Daryl. I sacrificed myself," You smiled, sitting on a log now. You held onto a leaf, examining the intricacy of nature. Your clothes changed too. You wore an orange-shaded striped sweater and jorts, like when he first saw you.
"No, you didn't. You killed yourself. You do not even know how long I have left," Daryl shook his head, feeling himself starting to lose it a little.
"Don't say that," you rolled your eyes.
"I have every right to. You were stupid to do that and sacrifice yourself for me," Daryl sighed deeply.
"I had no choice. There was nowhere to run," you said sheepishly.
"It could've been me in there, don't you think?" Daryl spat his tone with rage and anger.
"No, but you can protect yourself," you shrugged as if you weren't bothered. "I can't, but you got Judith's formula, didn't you?"
There was an eerie, long pause.
"It's okay, Daryl," your tone became gentler, more reassuring, "you can't save everyone, and that's okay."
You went over to him and hugged him from behind. He refused to look at you, knowing that once he looks at you, all he sees is his imagination. Despite his desperation to forgive himself and the longing for acceptance of your death, his mind can't help but think of you.
"I liked the way you cook squirrel," you smiled softly, hugging him tighter, "It tastes nice..."
Bringing up the small memory made Daryl feel his heart sink.
"you're not real, are you?" He asked as he looked at your arms wrapped around his waist. His hand reaches to your fingers, feeling your soft, cold flesh. Similar to when somebody dies in the hospital, their body becomes frigid as ice.
"I am," you console him, resting your cheek on his broad back and the leather bracing half of your face, "I'm living on the other side, Daryl."
"Is it nice there?" Daryl asks quietly, feeling his eyes tear up. He took a small halt but continued, "The other side?"
"Yeah, it's nice..." You nodded, "I'm alright on the other side. What about you?"
"I guess it's alright, too," Daryl's smile formed on his lips.
Knowing that you're happy somewhere brought him ease. It gave him a chance to move on calmly. That was when he opened his eyes, finally seeing you nowhere in the woods. A hallucination in which Daryl managed to move on. Walking back to the prison to finally let go of the burden of you.

Rain clung to a man as he peered over the rails of a bridge he couldn’t name. It was big enough to have a name, he was sure of that, but not big enough for people to be driving by at three in the morning.
His hands wrapped around the steel beams meant to keep cars from tipping over into the rushing waters below. They were cold to the touch, but he didn’t feel that. He could barely place one foot in front of the other, let alone feel anything besides the hollowed-out hole in his chest.
His car was parked just off the side of the road less than half a mile away, keys still in the ignition, lights blaring onto the tree trunks that ran on for as far as the eye could see. There was no one for miles, the only souls accompanying him in those moments being those of the rodents scattering into crooks and crannies to hide from the rain.
A heavy weight shifted in his pocket, nudging against his thigh, reminding him why he was standing alone in the rain. He couldn’t comprehend that in the morning, people would come looking for him, that he would be missed; that he would be mourned. He only knew the pain that was engulfing his very being, pushing him closer and closer to life’s edge.
He wanted to compare it to Hell, but he knew that in Hell he’d at least pay for what he’d done in the form of flames and pure, unimaginable agony, like he’d experienced all those years ago. Here, he could only wallow in the fact that he was alive, and the only person he’d give his life for wasn’t.
The first time he tried to pitch himself over the rails, his foot slipped and his head collided with the metal. Blood trickled down his forehead as he remained on the ground. Any other time, he’d be able to climb anything, anywhere; but now all he could hear was the sound of the river below calling for him.
Join me. It said, beckoning him to his feet once again.
Though he couldn’t see me, I was there watching him as he tried to will himself to take his own life. Standing a mere ten feet from him, leaning on the opposing set of rails, I watched as he clambered upright. In complete honesty, I didn’t know if he’d do it or not. I did, however, know that he wasn’t meant to be there. He was meant to pass in a horrible accident three weeks before at his own hands, leaving his brother the only survivor. His name was in my book, and I was meant to take him to the great hereafter, only to find him standing over his brother’s body.
The man didn’t know it, but his brother was there too, watching him on that bridge. He tried to get his brother to hear his pleas, but he couldn’t, so he turned to me.
He begged me and begged me to not let his brother take his life. This had happened many times since I started my life’s work, people trying to offer me their souls in place of a loved one’s, but my duties remained as they were. I’m a pathway to the afterlife. No more, no less. Never once had I prevented someone from dying, never once had someone slipped between my fingers, and never once had I stuck myself in Earthly affairs.
I leaned into the rails silently, letting the rain fall onto my bare skin. I could imagine how cold it was for him, shivering and bleeding as his world seemed to crumble.
His brother clung to my side, clawing and tearing at my skin as he wailed for me to let his brother live, that his soul should be enough for me to have.
I turned to him and looked into his widened eyes, and all I could do was wonder. Wonder why such a young man was content in his own death, and why he didn’t want his brother to die as he did.
“You Winchesters and your family bond. You know Samuel, there aren’t many people out there who aren’t pissed at the person who killed them.” I said as I acknowledged the youngest Winchester for the first time since he started our conversation.
“He didn’t-” Sam looked to his older brother, still oblivious to my presence, “-my death wasn’t his fault. You got your soul, now you can report back to your big boss and just leave Dean alone, please.”
I turned to him, ready to tell him that my kind didn’t deal in souls, but was interrupted when the click of a handgun made Sam and I turn our heads.
“Are you my reaper?” He asked, matter-of-factually, poorly aiming his pistol in my general direction. I took a step toward him, the rain beginning to fall more violently.
“We both know you’re smart enough than to try and use that on me, Dean,” I said, ignoring his question as I took more steps toward him.
“Answer-” Dean readjusted his slipping grip on the gun, eyes wearily trained at me. “-answer me.”
“I was your reaper, yes,” I answered, closing the distance between us, cool metal pressed against my chest.
His eyes were green and sunken; packed with tears, veins, and blood. His pupils darted around my face expectantly, begging me to do something, make his pain simply go away.
I felt a heavy pang in my chest, that hooked onto my heart and sunk to my feet.
I reached up to his face, gently cupping as I skimmed my fingers over untrimmed facial hair. He flinched as my hand made contact, probably expecting to get ripped from his body.
“Don’t be afraid, Dean. He’s safe.” I said gently. His eyes closed, and he leaned into my palm as he let out a heavy breath.
“He isn’t angry at you. You know, he practically begged me to come stop you.” I smiled, smoothing over the gash on his forehead. The deep cut disappeared as my fingers skimmed over it, offering him some relief.
“It’s not fair-” Dean choked out, coughing as the weather around us began to take its toll on his body. “-Sammy, he’s got a whole life ahead of him. College, a big lawyer job, a normal life. All I’ve got is hunting, and waiting to run into someone sharp enough to finally get me.”
His teeth chattered in his mouth, and the metal against my chest disappeared as he let his arms drop to his sides.
“Big talk coming from someone who’s barely thirty,” I said, watching as Dean pulled away from my hands, and returned to leaning on the rails.
“It’s the-” Dean starts.
“-the life, yes. So I’ve heard from a great number of hunters.” I finished his thought as I joined him on the rails. “Why is it that all of you think your lifespans are so short? Hunters back in, I don’t know,” I wave my hand as I’m trying to come up with the words, “the seventeen hundreds still lived longer than a lot your folk do nowadays.”
He creased his eyebrows, his eyes flickering over my face.
“All I’m saying,” I take a long look at the sun starting to crawl its way over the horizon, “is that ‘the life’ doesn’t have to be your life, Dean. I can’t believe I’m even saying this, but you don’t have to die in some horrific fight that finally puts you down. Hunters have died of old age, you know.”
He looked at me, the freckles on his face more visible now that the rain was calming down, “but Sammy… he deserved his happy ending more than I ever will. He got out. Got a full-ride scholarship to freakin’ Stanford. Had a girl. I didn’t even have the guts to tell him how proud I was. I’d stand outside his dorm room for hours, trying to figure out a way to come see him without Dad, or without him hating me. I shouldn’t have dragged him back into this, and now he’s dead. In my place.”
“It’s the natural order of things, Dean. If not him, then you, and if not you, then some other person had to die that day.”
“But it didn’t have to be Sam. I would’ve gone just the same way as he did, but at least he’d have something dragging him forward, to move on.” He looked at me again with those tired eyes, letting out a sharp breath as his hands clung to the railing again, leaning his torso off halfway.
“Dean,” I said cautiously, watching his knuckles turn white as his heart quickened and eyes shut, “Dean.”
His feet were moving fast, and in one swift moment, he was off the bridge. His body flung over almost effortlessly and catapulted him down to the rocky waters below.
I turned away, expecting him to appear next to me in a moment, but his voice rose through the air instead.
“What…?”
I looked over the railing, only to see Sam was holding his forearms, holding him from his forearms before he could drop.
I turned to the younger Winchester brother, who was solely focused on trying to save his brother’s life, his spectral hands losing their grip the longer he held on.
“Dean, hold on, please. Please, man, just hold on. Don’t give up on me.”
Dean’s head snapped up, looking straight at his brother.
“Sammy?” Dean choked out, his legs starting to kick frantically as if he were trying to walk on air.
“Help me, help me get him up. Please.” Sam turned to me, struggling to hold onto his brother.
I blinked and I was beside him, yanking up on an almost-limp Dean, and throwing him onto the road of the bridge.
Dean lay on the ground, his chest rising and falling with each labored breath. Sam knelt beside him, his eyes filled with remorse.
“I didn’t want to give up on you, Sammy,” Dean whispered, his voice barely audible over the gentle rustle of the damp morning breeze.
Sam’s heart clenched at the sound of his brother’s voice, filled with a mixture of pain and regret. “I know, Dean,” he replied, his voice choked with emotion. “It’s not your fault. You never gave up on me. You took all of dad’s crap, and I mean all of it. The yelling. The hunting. The abuse.”
Dean looked at his brother before he went still, not saying a word as he clutched his chest with pale blue hands. His breaths grew shallower, his body beginning to tremble from the exertion and the cold rain that drenched him throughout the night. Sam glanced around frantically, feeling helpless in the face of his brother’s suffering.
“He needs help. Help him,” Sam said, his voice urgent as he looked up at me, desperation clear in his eyes.
I nodded, my heart heavy with the weight of the situation. “I’ll do what I can,” I replied, my voice solemn. “But I can’t interfere with the natural order of things.”
Sam’s shoulders sagged in defeat, but he refused to give up. “There has to be something you can do,” he pleaded, his voice cracking with emotion. “Please, just help him.”
I hesitated, the pull that the Winchester seemed to have with the universe was something even Death couldn’t withstand; but who was I to interfere? As I looked down at Dean, lying battered and broken on the ground, I could hear the cracking of his ribs drowning out my thoughts.
With a heavy sigh, I knelt beside Sam and Dean, moving Dean’s hands away from his chest with little force. “I’ll do what I can,” I said, my voice softer.
I laid my hands on Dean’s chest, warmth spread through his body, chasing away the chill of the rain and easing his pain. His breaths grew steadier, his trembling subsiding as color started returning to his hands.
Sam looked on in awe, tears welling in his eyes as he watched his brother’s condition improve before his very eyes. “Thank you,” he whispered, his voice filled with gratitude.
I nodded, a small smile touching my lips. “Take care of him,” Sam said, his voice barely above a whisper, and I nodded. “He’s gotta lot of fight left in him, and someone has to keep him up and running.”
I chuckled, moving to the side of Sam as I waited for him to pull away from Dean. The two of them sat there in perfect silence, staring into the blankness in front of them. I could barely hear Dean’s breath through the wind that curved between the air around us.
“I have to go, Dean,” Sam said, turning to face them as they both sat on the edge of the empty road.
“I can’t do this without you Sammy, I don’t want to,” Dean said, catching stray tears with the back of his hand. He took his brother into a firm hug; it was as if he was holding him to Earth, and to life itself.
“I love you so much,” Sam said as he rested his head on Dean’s shoulder, Dean taking in a shuddered breath. Sam slowly pulled away from him, and stood beside me, trying his best to smile, “bye, Dean.”
Dean looked up at his brother, nose red and raw from the tears that coated his face, hiccuping as he failed to drown his emotions with a weak smile, not saying a word. He scooted away from the road, sitting himself up against the rails as he watched me and Sam walk down the bridge, and out of view.
I can’t say that I forgot that day, especially when I was called again for Dean. He lay on a hospital bed, his once dirty blonde hair replaced with silver tufts, complemented by wrinkles brought on from years of stories to tell, and different kinds of scars in new places.
He looked just as he did that day on the bridge when he came to stand by me, watching the woman beside him, hair just as gray as his, holding onto his hand. An anti-possession tattoo peaked out from under her long sleeve as she reached over to plant a kiss on his forehead, watching as his heart monitor ran flat. After a few moments of silence, nurses came into the room, looking over Dean’s body as the woman shuffled out of the room and walked through Dean and me with a shudder.
“Hello, Dean,” I said, smiling gently, preparing to lead him out of the room when there was a laugh from behind us. Two hands were placed firmly around Dean before I could realize who it was.
“You ready? We’ve got a lot to catch up on, you know.” Sam said as he pulled away from his brother, the both of them smiling like I’d never seen before.

sweet calamity | ch 4
Wednesday Addams x Reader
Series Summary: It was something people described as the sweetest pain, the feeling of when the soul that's destined to find yours is closer to you. Wednesday saw it as a curse, promised herself she would hate whoever was chosen for her; but it's easier said than done.
A/N: Prepare your heart for this one. I was listening to this while writing. <3

Tumblr media
There was no sunlight this morning, Nevermore's grounds were grey, as were the clouds covering the sky. Without the sun, the wind moving between the trees became considerably colder.
Wednesday walked the stone path in the gardens, her steps well placed to avoid the bits of grass peeking in between that were still covered by the morning frost.
It was too early, a soft white fog was still hanging in the air and not many students were out and about at this hour, especially outside in the cold; but she had a feeling that the person she was after would be here.
One could say Wednesday blended in well with the gloomy weather; with her pale skin doing little in helping to hide the dark bags under her eyes, courtesy of spending last night worrying — no, worrying implies that she cares and she most certainly doesn't — thinking, about the what ifs that surrounded you and her.
It eventually became as clear as day even if Wednesday couldn't connect a few points. She still hasn't decided how to feel about it or what to say to you when she finds you.
We are a mistake; I don't want you, you shouldn't want me.
Those were the words that have been swimming inside her head all night, so much that she almost made it all Enid's problem too. They were true, weren't they? She would mean it if they were to roll off her tongue.
Yet, as Wednesday walked briskly, feeling the cold biting at her cheeks, she wondered why they brought an uncomfortable weight to her chest.
She found you under what once was a dense tree, your shoulder was leaning against its trunk; there was a boy next to you, tall and lanky and doing a poor job of being subtle with the way he leaned closer to you. Wednesday's face scrunched slightly, as if she tasted something sour; she needed your attention much more urgently than he did, surely you'd ditch him as soon as she makes her presence known right?
You were engrossed in meaningless conversation when Wednesday reached you, so much so that she had to tap your shoulder; causing you to turn toward her mid-sentence, your lips hanging half open.
The raven-haired girl did nothing but raise a brow, and after a beat of looking into her eyes, you turned your back to her again. Such a bold move of yours.
"Um, so Andrew," you clasped your hands together, smiling at him, "I'll meet up with you later, okay?"
"Sure thing," the boy raised a hand to your shoulder, squeezing softly, "see you then."
His gaze met with Wednesday's as he walked past her, and truthfully, he should be grateful that her eyes don't have the power to kill.
"Good morning, Addams." Your voice urged her dark orbs back to you, who was grinning, watching her intently. "You're quite early today," you told her then.
Wednesday breathed out through her nose, focusing on you with a blink; "you and I need to-" but her words faded, because her mind caught up with the fact that she wasn't feeling anything.
There was nothing. The mark on her wrist that she loathes so much; it didn't burn, didn't sting, didn't even tickle.
She had grown almost used to it, learning to expect it whenever you were close. Not having it, felt like someone ripped away a part of her soul, like there was this grip slowly tightening around the organ that pumps her blood.
It was all kinds of wrong because she shouldn't miss something she doesn't need.
Wednesday felt utterly pathetic, because her body was stuck not feeling things and you were looking at her with slightly raised eyebrows, silently asking her to elaborate.
"-Get to class, we're way too far and I'm not arriving late because of you," she finally snapped, turning away from you briskly.
So it's not you after all, but she was so sure.
And there's absolutely nothing more infuriating than being wrong.
You didn't mention how the class wouldn't start for another forty minutes so neither did Wednesday, she just walked, hearing your steps trailing behind her.
Wednesday was troubled, that much you could tell right away. She had that frown on her eyebrows and lips, the same one you saw once when she'd hit a dead end on her novel.
Oh, how you wanted to be able to take her hand and tell her that it's over, that there's no need to worry anymore.
Wednesday wallowed in her self-pity and rage during most of the class, plucking her pen into her notebook until there was a hole in the pages.
Her foul mood came off of her in waves. You could feel it as you sat beside her, the tension was almost palpable and it was making you anxious.
"What's bothering you so much?" You tried asking, your hands clutching at the fabric of your hoodie when you hugged yourself, partly to chase away the cold, partly for comfort.
For a long minute, the raven-haired girl remained quiet, with her nails tapping her pen rhythmically. She wasn't looking at you and you almost thought she wasn't going to answer at all.
"I'm not-" Wednesday cut herself off with a huff, her lips tight. How can she tell you without actually telling you?
Slowly, her gaze found yours — the teacher up front eagerly talking about elixirs was long forgotten — and the thing about you that set her at ease was still there. Wednesday still couldn't tell what it was exactly, it just… happened.
This time, she didn't fight it.
"I was feeling something for a while," she admitted, quieter than she meant to, "and now, it appears that I'm not anymore."
Dark as Wednesday's eyes might be, you could see them shine; it took everything in you to prevent them from breaking you.
"I don't know how to feel about it," Wednesday finished, her jaw set painfully tight as she looked away from you.
———
Soft. The new soil was soft. A little cold and damp, but still soft.
It shifted between your fingers, little specks of dirt clinging to your skin as you spread it over the flowerbed of the quad.
Most students were out for their club activities; you and Enid managed to get this period free to start working on your little renovation project. It was nice to see the quad so quiet and calm, you were almost able to completely ease your mind.
"I can't wait to see the end result," Enid animatedly told you, carefully picking up one of the seedlings you had gathered from the greenhouse, "they're gonna look so pretty when the fountain is working again."
You chuckled, taking the little white flower she gave you, "I hope so. It'll look better than it does now, that's for sure." You placed down the flower, adjusting it carefully before covering the fragile roots with a thin layer of dirt.
First one done, many more to go. And you were still considering that new tree.
You took a small sunflower next — the one Enid chose — its petals were a little dry, so before placing it down on the soil, you held it between both your hands with care and allowed a little more life to flow into it.
"This is always so cool," Enid said lowly, her eyes glinting as she watched the yellow petals take on a brighter tone.
"I guess it is." You gently placed the flower on its new home with a faint smile.
Enid pushed your shoulder lightly, "stop doing that."
"Doing what?"
"Dismiss your abilities."
You grinned at the way Enid was frowning at you; "I'm not dismissing," you shrugged, "they just don't have much use other than making flowerbeds."
The werewolf raised an eyebrow at you, successfully ruining her pristine uniform as she sat down on the dirt, "that's not true, I could think of a thousand things to do if I controlled every plant I see."
Following suit, you sat down beside her, your knee brushing hers. "You know, when I was younger, I used to make these little soldiers out of branches and sticks, usually tying them together with vines and stuff like that," you told her, smiling at the memory of a younger you conquering the woods, "I'd make them move around, sometimes fight each other, or just walk with me. Pretend they were alive."
"I'd love to see that one day," Enid responds kindly.
For a moment you let yourself enjoy the feeling of having a real friend who likes you for you, it's nice, you'll keep her forever if she lets you. Yet your mind was still elsewhere, drowning in the image of dark eyes staring at you, lost in a way you'd never seen them before, and it was your fault.
"Enid," you called quietly, "have you ever done something that felt right at the time…" you're fidgeting with your hands, restless, "but then after a while… it doesn't anymore?"
She hums, considering your words, "I think so, but in the end, it always works out if you follow your heart."
Well, then I'm screwed. You thought to yourself.
"Why? Did something happen?" Enid asked worriedly, tilting her head to try and catch a glimpse of your eyes.
"No, I-" you pause, biting the inside of your cheek, "I did something, and I'm not sure if it was a mistake or not anymore."
"Did it make you happy? This thing that you did?"
"I don't think happy is the word that I'd use."
Enid was silent for a beat, then she asked; "can you fix it?"
Your eyes became unfocused, your mind drifting as the words just fell, like droplets of blood from a fresh wound; "I don't know how, or if she'd ever want me to."
———
Apparently, you had ruined glass walls and flower perfumes for Wednesday. Because you didn't show up for botany today, and she had a hard time concentrating.
It's unsettling that everything that you've been forcing her to feel, was still there, and it caused her to dive into some light obsessive research last night.
Wednesday had taken Enid's computer and dug up every last bit of information about soulmates she could find online — which honestly, was an overwhelming amount — ranging from how it works, if it can suddenly stop even if you haven't touched, and all the way to conspiracy theories about why it exists.
It was driving her a little mad that she didn't have all cards on the table, she hated the feeling of having missing facts. Her gut was telling her that it was you — as much as she doesn't want it to be — yet reason was telling her that it couldn't be.
Why does she care so much anyway?
The class ended and you were still nowhere to be seen. Wednesday was now walking through Nevermore's hallways, her destination being the library. Maybe the books could answer the questions that the internet was incapable of.
Wednesday let out an indignant scoff at the thought. Why wasn't that her first option?
The ominous library seemed empty, as it was most of the time. Bookshelves standing tall, creating dark corners and allowing only little bits of sunlight to seep through, and the weak table lamps being the only other source of light. She could spend hours here.
Wednesday walked from one shelf to another, her fingertips collecting dust from each book she took. Some of them were old, the pages fragile and already with a brown shade to them; yet none had the answers she wanted.
Maybe the problem was that she didn't know what exactly were her questions in the first place.
The sun was nearly setting when she grew bored of hitting dead ends, a deep golden glow was bathing the dark wooden floors and her shadow was moving with it as she walked.
Though when she rounded a corner, Wednesday abruptly stopped, her boots scratching the wood.
You sat on top of one of the library tables, the only one that was placed in front of a window. Your knees were crossed and you had a book in your hands, the words on it being illuminated by the slowly fading sunlight behind you.
Wednesday couldn't help but be enamored with shades of golden at that moment.
Whatever it was you did to her, was still there too, because she found herself walking closer. You felt her presence, your head snapped up to look at her after she took the second step.
"Wednesday," you said her name in nothing but a breath.
She walked until her fingertips were grazing the edge of your table, her expression unreadable, "where have you been all day?"
You gulped, the grip you had on your book tightening. "I was busy."
"Not what I asked," Wednesday said plainly.
It wasn't easy for you to be around her, your heart needed a break, so you took one. You curled in on yourself a little, "why do you want to know?"
Because for some unfathomable reason, your absence seems to bother me.
That's not what Wednesday said, but maybe she should have.
You sighed, lazily placing your book aside and getting down from the table. "I went to town to pick up a few flower seeds we didn't have in the greenhouse, no big deal."
Wednesday nodded softly, "you could've told me."
Your lips parted but no words came out, you didn't know what you could possibly answer to that. Where was this coming from?
"I'm sorry?" You stumble out, more like a question than anything else, "I didn't know you wanted to know that."
Wednesday blinked a couple of times. You were right, why would she want to know that? What was happening to her?
She shook her head, as if these feelings were nothing but a fog that would easily dissipate. Slowly, she took the rest of the steps necessary to close the distance between you, her eyes focused on the book you'd been holding.
"What are you reading?" She asked.
Your heart rate picked up its pace, you could hear it if you focused hard enough; all because you were trapped between Wednesday and the big window behind you. She's killing you slowly, her soul was too well entangled with yours for you to ever be free of this sweet torture.
You had to think quite hard about the answer because breathing isn't your brain's top priority right now and it's making you lightheaded.
"It's uh- The Diary of Jack the Ripper," you paused, tongue running over your bottom lip and you didn't even notice that Wednesday's gaze followed the motion, "it's interesting, kind of."
The last rays of sun are reflecting on Wednesday's dark eyes. She's close, so close that you can count every freckle, every speck of her lipstick.
You're unaware that she's thinking the same.
She's thinking about the way the golden light is framing the outlines of your jaw, about how your eyes can't seem to pick a spot on her face to focus on, about how your unsteady breathing is fanning over her lips but you still feel too far away.
Wednesday clenched her jaw in frustration, her eyes sharp as she put a step of distance between you, "I don't believe it," she breathed.
A deep frown settled on your face, "that I'm reading his book?"
"That it's not you," her words came out tight and low, as if it hurt her to say them. They sent a shiver down your spine.
Before you could even think about an answer, Wednesday grabbed your arm, her fingers closing around your wrist in a nearly bruising grip.
Your heartbeat faltered the same way hers did, the feeling of her skin against yours instantly blurred your vision with tears. All the feelings you've been trying to bottle up since you touched her for the first time were starting to spill over.
Wednesday harshly turned your wrist so your palm was up. She raised your sleeve, and time stood still for a second.
There, right on the pulse point of your wrist, laid a faint mark, just a few shades darker than your skin tone. If you looked closely, or in this case, not that closely, you could say its shape resembled a scorpion.
Wednesday didn't let go of you, but she averted her gaze. Her lips parted with ragged breaths, the lower one trembling against her will.
You could feel fresh tears making their way down your cheeks and dripping from your chin, Wednesday only looked back at you when one of them landed on her thumb.
"You knew," she growled quietly. With her free hand, she raised her own sleeve to show a mark identical to yours, "you knew and you didn't tell me." She raised her voice then, her midnight eyes boring into yours and making you flinch.
For a while, you thought you knew pain, but nothing could compare to this. "I thought I'd spare you from the inconvenience." With that, you forcefully pulled your arm away from her hold as if she burned you.
For a moment, the action dulled Wednesday's anger for being kept in the dark about something this… important? And she finally noticed your tear-stained cheeks.
Too late, because she couldn't get a word in before you were pushing past her, your shoulder bumping into hers as you ran away from the library, away from her.
Wednesday was frozen to the floorboards, her eyes fixed on the spot you'd just been. She's feeling an ocean of emotions; they're nauseating, raising bile to her throat, so many things at once but what she expected — wanted — to feel, wasn't there, she didn't hate you.

The love you had felt a day ago had been deeply invested in the soil of your mind. Roots interweaved and twisted until they met one solid structure that stood strong and tall. Supplied with nutrients that were needed; love and care.
That was what love stood for and represented. Something strong, unmoving, and beautiful. Yet, in less than 24 hours, Ellie’s actions had been able to break that tree down to a rotting, hollow trunk. The roots able to retract and give supply to another tree had done so. Leaving the remaining ones to stand still as a flame burnt them to a crisp.
She’d done that. She’d managed to bring a firestorm to what was fine and unique and destroy it. A burnt forest left to take what was once beautiful.
You were broken. Sadly, that was a truth you had admitted when Issac had you locked up once more. Left to craft a makeshift bandage from the wound in your leg and just wait. Wishing there was some way you could alleviate the weight in your chest.
Abby hadn’t said anything to you after you gave her the info she needed. Truthfully, you were too exhausted and hurt to care either. All you cared about was sleep and hopefully being allowed to leave this cell soon.
“We shouldn’t have left her as we did.” Dina’s words shook the auburn-haired girl from her empty stare. Turning her head to the other to find her sitting up from the couch, still feeling the sickness from her pregnancy. “Maybe it was a mistake for me to ever tell you how I felt. If it saved me from feeling the weight I do, I would’ve kept everything to myself.”
Ellie chewed on her bottom lip, shaking her head as she replayed those few moments. A large vent pinning your foot and restricting your movements. And when the foul screech of a Clicker sounded, silencing the trio, raising the anxiety in their bodies. It all just happened so fast. You were trapped. If they tried to do anything, they would’ve been dead as well. Then this would’ve all been for nothing, and Ellie couldn’t have that.
But maybe she was just saying that to herself to justify the purpose of her selfish decision. An argument could be made that she felt something for Dina and everything between you two had been fizzling out like water to sugar. But that would also mean her having to admit she led you on because she had. And maybe this was the easiest way for her to non-verbally tell you that things were different now.
“She’s dead, Dina,” Ellie finally spoke, turning her head half-heartedly toward the ill girl. But ever meeting her guilty eyes. “She knew what she was signing up for when she came along.”
Dina pursed her lips, wiping away the tears that slid down her cheeks. “But you aren’t acknowledging the obvious, Ellie,” she pointed out. “She was your girlfriend and you chose me over her. Do you not feel any guilt over that?”
Licking her lips, Ellie reached over and took Dina’s hand. “All I know is that I chose the girl that I love.”
Tumblr media
The city streets were quiet. Way too quiet for Abby. There was the occasional conversation with Manny and Mel, but not enough to ease her cautious awareness that they were out in the open and a perfect target for the Seraphites.
Hearing a quiet grumble behind her, she peeked over her shoulder to see you holding your stomach. “Do you want me to carry your pack?” She inquired, surprising herself with how soft the question was.
But you raised your hand, exhaling heavily. “If we get in a firefight, I need you to shoot. The pack helps keep me planted when I’m firing,” you pointed out, able to spare a faint smile toward the girl. “But a shot of Vodka might be good right now.”
Abby smiled, placing a large hand on your lower back as the both of you moved up the steps of the old warehouse that stored a boat. “When we get to the F.O.B., I’ll be sure to get you that shot.”
It’d been some time since you were locked in that cage. Since you had to piss in a bucket or eat food off the dirty floor. But since then, your intelligence of Ellie and Dina had convinced Issac to task you with Abby for patrols or any deployments. And it wasn’t like you saw any choice in the matter. You couldn’t be banking on some sort of hope that someone would storm the stadium, kill everyone and save you. It was unrealistic. So, you did the thing you were good at. You helped people. You helped Nora and Mel where you could and stayed in that cell with the addition of a dirty mattress until Issac trusted you enough to go out on patrols.
And now, with everyone being called to the front, you were deemed needed for whatever came next. Abby reassured you, seeing this as a way to earn your keep and be considered a part of the WLF. But you knew full well where Manny stood with your presence now added to the group.
In fact, many people were indifferent about your contributions to the force. You were a doctor and started aiding the wounded from attacks then you were going on small skirmishes with fellow WLF soldiers. But they were simply waiting for the moment they could put a bullet in your back.
You held no particular fond spot in anyone’s mind. You were an anomaly. Walking a lonely highway hoping to find a new place to call home.
That’s why you stuck to yourself when moving with the trio. Mel tried to strike up some sort of conversation, but you kept your mouth shut. And you kept your eyes averted whenever Manny wished to show you his distaste for you accompanying them. Abby was really the only person you were willing to spend time with and talk to. She was the only person not looking to tear your head off. She taught you how to properly handle their rifles and taught you what you needed just in case something were to happen out in the field.
She was your only friend.
Moving through the warehouse and moving down a slope leading to a few box carts where you took notice of voices further down the tracks. With the density of bushes and tall grass, the approach was made easy, but the execution of taking the Serphaites down wasn’t. You are stuck near Abby, not trusting yourself on your own. And once she killed the first and Manny killed the second, the Seraphites took notice. Then all hell broke loose.
Gunfire sounded throughout the overgrown enclosure with you seeking refuge inside of a box cart. Taking pot shots and beginning to feel the ache in your shoulder from the recoil of the rifle. Mel, Manny and Abby handled the situation like pros. Taking one down after another until the only sound to be heard was your panting. Adrenaline coursing through your system.
“All clear!” Abby announced, shouldering her rifle. “You good?” Abby inquired, appearing from behind cover and walking toward you.
With a sheepish nod, you hopped out of the box cart and followed behind the group. Climbing up a mound of dirt and onto a broken landing that held a gate ahead of them.
Walking over, Abby pushed against one of the sides and created big enough of a gap the chain would allow. “Through here.” Abby moved out of the way, allowing you to step through first before she followed and the other two did the same.
The moment you stepped through, barely able to take account of your surroundings, a distinct whistle sounded. And before you could respond, a hand grabbed the back of your pack and yanked you inside the gas station just as the sound of gunfire appeared. Bullets whizzing past you, the wall behind the front register was slowly becoming riddled with bullets. The trio were quick to return fire and keep the Seraphites off of them for as long as they could.
But you were stuck with that constant tremble in your joints. Much like when you had your first run-in with the cult, you couldn’t pull the trigger. This fieldwork wasn’t where you belonged. You preferred being stuck inside a tent smelling like metal and injured bodies all around you. That was when you were in your zone. But this? This shit isn’t ever going to be where you exceed.
By the time the gunfire stopped, you were already being hoisted to your feet. Faced to look at all the dead bodies of cultists, which were a lot more than you were expecting. They had the upper hand, the same firepower and large able bodies. But you were beginning to discover the pattern with Abby that she was practically invincible and a lot better than most people in this day and age were capable of being.
“We got wounded in the truck. Mind giving us a hand with that, outsider?” The title had stuck rather quickly in the short amount of time of you being “recruited” into the WLF. Everyone didn’t call you by your name or consider you a human being. If anything, you were a dog on a leash, being tugged along by Issac to do as he ordered. Because if you weren’t going to give him any info on Ellie or Dina, then he would make you useful.
Nodding, you followed into the truck after Manny. Moving to the center relinquishing your pack and quickly pulling out some gauze. Glancing up at the injured WLF soldier, he was shot right through the hand. Nothing that could limit his capabilities to work, but it would make him have to put down the rifle for a few weeks at best.
“Hold your hand out for me. This isn’t going to hurt, but bear with me, all right?” The man nodded, straining as you began to wrap the gauze around the wound. “You might think this part is the worst, but I’m going to need you to squeeze this as hard as you can.” Placing the roll of gauze in his hand, you slipped back into the seat behind you and sighed. Holstering your rifle and securing it whilst ejecting the round from the chamber. Out of everything Joel taught you and what you picked up, it was never wrong to make sure a gun was extra safe.
“You froze.” Lifting your gaze, you found Manny staring at you with almost a look of empathy. It was new coming from him. Constant badgering and snide remarks were all you got from the man. “In the train yard and gas station. You froze.”
It took you a moment, letting out a breathy laugh as you nodded sheepishly. “I’m not good with guns.”
“That’s hard to believe considering how you discharged your weapon.” He motioned to the rifle in your grasp. “Who taught you that?”
With pursed lips, you looked down. “Joel. Joel Miller.” That created a riveting silence amongst the “Salt Lake” group that stared at you. Still, the vivid imagery of that night still haunted Abby to this day. And to think that you travelled all the way here with your ex and a friend to kill her and everyone there that killed Joel was hard to grasp. She guessed this was some sort of act of torture. Forcing her to see the pain she indirectly caused with her decision. “But my father taught me how to handle a rifle–the basics, you know? His father taught him since he was a Vet before the world went to shit and whatnot. But Joel taught me to how to shoot, how to clean a gun, and how to kill someone.”
For the rest of the ride, the group was silent and you enjoyed it. Often, you felt like the outcast during most conversations with Abby’s group. The point being; they killed a close friend of yours. So, it wasn’t like you could talk about getting beers or having a barbeque with them. Instead, you would stand there in silence and only talk when someone attempted to converse with you. So, the silence was slowly becoming your best friend each day.
Arriving at the F.O.B., you hopped off the truck and assisted the injured man and Mel off. But it wasn’t long before a man came running over. “Hey, Outsider! Issac wants you in his office, pronto!”
Abby smiled. “No rest for the wicked, huh?” She teased.
You scoffed, nudging her softly. “I’ll see you up there?”
“You can count on it.” You smiled once more at the woman, feeling your guys’ gaze linger on one another a moment too long before you turned. Cheeks warm as you followed the soldier through the front barracks of the base.
From the gate, WLF soldiers were piled up under tents to avoid the sun. Some were working with faulty weaponry and supplying ammo, assisting with teammate’s gear. Others were working on battle plans and zones occupying Serphite forces. And in the center was where the fresh scent of food caught your senses. Men and women seated on dirty benches feasting on one of the few meals they could get in a day. It made you wish you got to stay back at the stadium. At least then you got to eat some fruit and not starve.
Entering the central compound, the dim lighting of fires blossoming from barrels did very little to give you a view of the interior. It wasn’t until you reached the lobby made into a jail of sorts that you could see clearer. The backup generators set up outside gave the fluorescent lights power with them occasionally flickering. But your eyes shifted to the prisoners. Seraphites and outsiders. All of them sitting in their own piss and shit. The sight of it was more enlightening than disgusting because you were in their place a mere few days ago. You were sleeping on concrete in your own filth. The only difference was Abby had specifically requested that you be given a bucket. The point was, seeing it from the outside gave you insight into what you must’ve looked like. And safe to say, you weren’t planning on it ever happening again.
Riding the elevator up to the office, the soldier opened the door for you. But you found no sign of Issac and as if the man was reading your thoughts, he said, “He’ll be up shortly.” And he left without hearing your response. Leaving you in a cleansing silence that you slowly eased back into. Collapsing onto a counter and staring out the window. The sunset hit your face nicely and allowed itself to warm you from the cold inside the office.
It took a few minutes, but Issac soon arrived. But when he entered, he turned around and stopped Manny and Abby. “The both of you wait outside.”
You frowned, sliding off the counter and looking past your leader at a confused Abby who looked like she wanted to protest but was stopped by the door closing on her.
Issac then turned to you. “Y/n,” he sighed, walking to his desk. “I heard you’ve been a great help at the Stadium.”
“Um, yes, sir. I’ve been picking up jobs where I can.” You hated these types of conversations with the man. It wasn’t too long ago that he had you tied to a chair and was extracting information from you. Cutting you up and probably was planning on doing worse. But you hated how intimidating he could be at times. You weren’t the confrontational type and he solidified it with his constant hollow demeanor.
“That’s good. Good.” Lifting up a paper, he waved it with a smile, scoffing to himself. “This job is going to kill me.”
“What can I do, sir?” You asked, taking a step.
He sighed, turning to sit on the edge of the desk, crossing his arms over his chest. “In the next coming days, I’m going to need you to stay here.”
The order nearly made you laugh. But finding his expression unchanging, you felt your own smile slowly drop. “May I ask why, sir?”
“We’re staging an assault against the Seraphite’s island and when we come back, I’m going to need a medic ready to patch our soldiers-”
“Is Abby going, sir?” The question slipped without much thought being put into it. Judging by the look on Issac’s face, he wasn’t exactly expecting it either. But he’d seen and heard about the two of you. How the both of you were nearly joined to the hip since you were released. He wasn’t sure how his most trusted soldier was able to grow attached to an outsider like you.
But he brushed it off. “This isn’t up for debate, Y/n,” he said. “They go, you stay.”
Pursing your lips, you nodded. “Affirm’, sir.”
“Good.” He turned back toward his desk, saying over his shoulder, “Your room is down the hall. Last door on the left.”
Biting your bottom lip, you walked to the door and swung it open. Finding the two soldiers standing talking to one another. But when they found your defeated expression, their conversation halted. Abby is the one to step forward and place a hand on your shoulder. “Are you okay?”
Sniffling, you nodded, jutting a thumb over your shoulder. “You should go. He’s waiting.” Slipping past her, you were quick to wipe your cheeks as you followed the directions provided by Issac and entered your quarters for the next few days.
You didn’t know why you were crying. You didn’t want to. If anything, you were glad to be out of harm's way. Protecting and saving people was where you excelled. But you couldn’t take a life. No matter the person, it still meant that you were killing a part of yourself to survive. So, shouldn’t you be feeling relief instead of dread?
With a shaky exhale, you hit yourself in the head. “Stop!” The answer to such a simple question was Abby. It felt so wrong to care for her. After everything she’s done, she was supposed to get a bullet in the head or a knife in the stomach. But you hadn’t done what you were tasked with doing when you came to Seattle. That promise to Ellie had fallen through the moment you smiled at Abby. Then again, did you have to keep a promise with someone who couldn’t even keep theirs?
Storing your gear in the corner of the room by the bed, you made quick work to occupy your attention from the daunting thoughts and eventual conversation with Abby. Going into the fridge and pulled out some bread and eggs. Placing a pan on the stove and turning on the burner with butter soon following.
A knock sounded at the door before it slowly peeked open. Abby’s head slipped through the crack, glancing around before finding you standing in front of the stove, cracking open an egg and letting it hit the pan. Its loud sizzle and pops make you step back and look at Abby. “Do you want some?”
She smiled, shutting the door behind her. “Sure.” Walking across the room, she placed her gear with yours before looking around. Eyes staying transfixed on the single bed in the room.
“I’ll sleep on the floor.” You frowned, looking over your shoulder at the girl who was already unrolling her sleeping bag. It made you laugh.
“Scared you won’t be able to keep your hands to yourself, Abby?” You asked, chuckling to yourself.
“I’ve been keeping self-control since I met you, Y/n,” Abby muttered. “But I want you to be  comfortable and I would take up most of the bed.”
“But what if I don’t want to sleep alone?” You inquired a hint of mischievous intent in your voice.
Your arms crossed over your chest as Abby tilted her head slightly, smirking. This game that the two of you have played has been going on since the moment Abby saved you from imprisonment. Or maybe it started a few days after she found you helping Nora and Mel in the medical bay. Either way, it was a cat-and-mouse game that neither of you wasn’t afraid of indulging in. And, at the deepest part in your core, you knew this wasn’t okay. To sleep with the “enemy”. But she was attractive and had been nothing but caring to you since she met you. And maybe you fell for people so easily before looking at the red flags, but you wanted to enjoy life for a little while longer. At least until she left for the attack against the Seraphites. Because if she didn’t come back, you wanted to have one last night with her.
The steam of the stove grabbed your attention once more. Smirking to yourself, you flipped the egg. You could feel her gaze bore into your figure.
And it only took a few moments before you felt her hulking figure press into your back. Her pelvis is flush with your ass and her hands holding your hips. Her finger dipped further, gently pressing into your pelvis. It made you smile.
With her face pressing into the back of your head, you muttered, “If you’re wanting to fuck, then just say so, Abby Anderson.”
“Is it obvious?” Your only response was to gently shake your head, dreadlocks hitting her face, making her laugh.
With a deep guttural groan, Abby spun you around and lifted you onto the counter. A yelp fell from your lips as your hands fell to her shoulders, legs interlocking around her waist. Abby let out a deep sigh, staring up at you with a small smile.
“So, are you going to make the first move or do I have to?”
The two of you laid side by side with one another. You were still trying to capture your breath and savour the taste of Abby’s nectar on your tongue. Gently pressing kisses into her side. Your legs were tangled amongst one another with a bedsheet lazily draped over the both of you to escape the cool breeze that slipped through the window.
A sweet sheen covered your guys’ bodies that didn’t at all seem to bother either of you. If anything, it made the moment seem to carry on a little longer.
Letting out a gentle laugh, Abby sighed. “I’ve never done it with a girl.”
You smirked, rolling onto your stomach and resting on your forearms. “Did I impress?”
Abby grinned, nodding eagerly. “Oh, yeah. You did more than impress.” A soft laugh fell from your lips as you chewed on your nail, shaking your head.
Although you knew there might be some sort of clarity that hits you, making you regret your decision, you still enjoyed it. There had been something primal and intimate with Abby that you forgot what it felt like after months with Ellie. This felt way too different
“You ever think about running away?” You asked, looking at the taller girl. “
“Where would you want to go?” Abby inquired, staring up at the ceiling.
“Canada sounds nice. I mean, the winter would be shitty, but it’s nothing I’m not used to,” you said.
Abby hummed, eyebrows slightly pinching together in thought. “I think anywhere with you would be nice.”
Your lips rolled, corners pulling upwards as Abby huffed. “Flirting is not my thing, huh?”
A graceful laugh fell from your lips, forehead resting against the other side. “Baby, stick to flexing and being all sexy and flirting won’t ever have to be used.”
Another break of silence took its place with the two of you enjoying one another’s company. Holding one another softly. And it felt true. Like this is where you belonged.
Despite everything that happened leading up to this point, you liked this. It was a simple way of life working with the WLF and you wished this had been what you experienced in Jackson and with Ellie. But there always had to be something relating to Ellie’s pent-up anger and Maria tasking you with patrols. At least now you could do what you had trained yourself to do for years and feel like you might be making a difference.
And Abby made it better.
“I want you to know that I care about you.” Your confession came suddenly and caught Abby off guard. “Like, despite what we both went through. I care about you so fucking much and I know I shouldn’t. But, If I can, I want to be here with you.”
“Then stay.” You looked up at Abby, finding her smiling softly down at you. “I mean, who else is going to wake me up by throwing books at me.”
A laugh fell from your lips as you nodded. “Yeah, I guess I have a role to fulfill, huh?” She smiled, leaning down and pressing a gentle kiss to your lips before leaning back.
But Abby’s smile slowly faltered as she sighed. “I have to go out and find Owen soon. Any WLF soldier that finds him will likely shoot him on sight for what he did.” Despite her saying this, she made no move to start getting ready. She continued to stroke your hip slowly, occasionally reaching around to grab at your ass possessively. In all honesty, she didn’t want to waste any time away from you considering she was going to be putting her life on the line against the Seraphites.
You picked at the fabric of the pillowcase, adjusting your position on your forearms. Pursing your lips, you asked,  “You still love him, don’t you?”
“If I did, I wouldn’t have done this.” Sitting up with her back against the headboard, you adjusted to lay between her legs with your chin resting on her pelvis. “What I and Owen had is history. Young teenage love that faded out. Right now, I’m focused on you. I want to make sure I have something to come back to.”
“The attack on the Seraphites,” you measured your words, almost cautious of what you might say. “I don’t want you to go.”
“I’ll radio you if anything comes up, all right?” She kissed you on the corner of your lips and you nodded. Reach up and grab her ponytail and forcefully tug her back down to meet you fully. Tilting your head and pressing further into the kiss. Only parting with your teeth gently at her bottom lip. Warm breaths intertwined with one another as you looked up at her with those eyes that tempted her to forget Owen for a little longer and spend some more time with you
“Make sure you come back to me.”
Tumblr media
It’d been a day or maybe two. It was hard to tell at this point with the workload given to you. What you did know is that there had been little to no communication from Abby. And laying awake in your room, thoughts of the prior night kept you up and wanting more.
In full honestly, it’d been a while since you got laid. Ellie had been rather busy before Joel even passed and most of the time she wasn’t in the mood. So, you had to deal with the pent-up stress and bottled it. Abby helped you release it and always seemed to be ready to give a “helping hand” with your situation.
So, maybe out of desperation, you grabbed your walkie-talkie and held it close. Smiling to yourself as you pressed the button and whispered, “Abby.” There was no response. “Abby, are you there?”
Again there was another long pause, making you realize how late it actually was. Making you sigh, sitting up in your bed with your legs curling into your chest. “I guess you might be sleeping. I’m pretty lonely here. I just wish you were here with me, you know?” You sighed. “I will say that if you don’t make it back to me, I’m going to go to hell and kill you again, all right? Let me know if Owen is alright and when you guys are on your way back.”
Silence filled the void, letting you hope that maybe your words had drifted into your sleepy daze and would be at the back of her mind when she woke. The idea of it made you smile. So, with a sheepish smile and a heat growing across your body, you whispered, “I love you.”
A pause before the radio clicked on with audio.
“Y/n.”
The voice made your body tense up as you stared at the device in horror. A cold chill ran down your spine, shivering as you shakily brought the device close and muttered,
“Ellie?”

Angel has to admit, she likes this assignment quite a lot. It was fun, living in a nice house in a quiet neighbourhood, with interesting and fascinating neighbours. At least, the ones that live to her left because her neighbours to her right are an old couple who barely make any noise, you'd think nobody even lives in their house.
That trip to Tesco was more fun than she expected. Turns out that Johnny was funnier than she imagined, nothing in his file could have prepared her for Soap's colourful character and hilarious jokes. And Kyle was as charming and intelligent and quick to joke as she'd imagined.
And Price was calm and collected, making sure that the two men didn't get in trouble in the store. But it didn't make hanging out with him any less fun, oh he was plenty fun, Angel knows it, and can practically taste it. It's just going to take a bit of work to make him open up. Angel can't wait to start working with him.
About the actual shopping, the men proved themselves useful and very helpful. Angel was grateful for this because buying food and cooking was a bit of a hassle and she gets overwhelmed with the stupid amount of choices for the same fucking thing. They recommended certain snacks, drinks, food combos, and things easy and quick to cook, and even helped her pick out the freshest fruits and vegetables. Eating was hard, Angel has no idea how humans do it every day.
When they paid for everything, Angel was pleased and surprised when Price went ahead and grabbed her shopping for her without saying anything. She told him he didn't have to, that she could carry her things by herself with no problem, but he claimed it was the least a gentleman could do.
No matter what Angel told him, he refused to give them to her until they reached the car and he told her to dig inside his pocket to unlock the car and open the trunk. "Your Captain is so stubborn," Angel complained to the other two men, with a pout on her face.
"Tell me about it." Gaz sighed, making her giggle in disbelief.
Now she was happily suckling on an orange-flavoured popsicle, sitting on her dining table, facing the garden's opened door. She was enjoying the sunlight and breeze on her skin when a very loud scream startled her. Angel nearly dropped her popsicle when her eyes zeroed on the big tree at the back of her garden, and Kuromi right at the top, screaming for help.
Angel gasped in horror, throwing her unfinished popsicle in the trash and running outside her garden, barefoot. Angel has no idea if her cat has the same sort of abilities as she does. She is immortal, that she’s sure of, but whether Kuromi can get hurt or not is a mystery to Angel. And she doesn't feel like testing that theory today at all.
"Kuromi! How did you get up there?!" Angel was actually panicking, as she looked at the many branches the tree had and just how high her stupid cat decided to climb. How the hell is she supposed to get her cat down without using her powers to do something so ridiculous that the Wish Office will phone her, and ask if she's out of her mind?
"Kuromi, you stupid fucking idiot, you'll die!" Angel was now on the verge of tears. She loved her stupid cat to death, and would rather die instead of watching her kitty get hurt. Angel approached the tree, squinting her eyes and looking up at the branches and thick leaves, seeing if she could climb up.
Angel was so preoccupied with trying to figure out how to save her cat, that she didn't notice Ghost smoking while leaning against the door that separates their kitchen and garden. He had a plain grey zip-up hoodie, a pair of loose black sweats and his skull mask on, hunched up on his nose bridge, keeping his lower face out so he could easily smoke.
He silently watched Angel argue with her cat. He knows a bit about his neighbour from Soap and Gaz, and he has to admit, not only she's pretty but intelligent. Even though his guys seemed to like her, Ghost doesn't easily trust people and she's no exception. He kept watching her struggle, on the verge of tears, until he decided to put his cigarette out.
Ghost silently walked down their garden while lowering his mask back down. It was so stupid how low the fence was. It just reached his waist and it would be so easy for him to jump into her garden. And that's exactly what he did, jumping over the fence with one hand on it for support.
Angel slightly jumped when he stood next to her. She didn't hear him come over, and she just stared up at the man with panicked eyes. She knew he was Simon, the pretty blue eyes were the same along with the pale eyelashes.
Simon was not even looking at her, he was looking up at the tree where Kuromi was. Angel took the opportunity to really look at him. He was absolutely fucking huge, for no reason at all. And he had sleeve tattoos on his veiny arms, Angel thanked fate that Simon decided to roll up his sleeves because his tattoos are beautiful. And what's even prettier, is the skin of his neck and collarbone. He wasn't wearing anything underneath the zip-up hoodie and Angel felt her mouth water.
Simon finally looked down at her, and Angel immediately opened her mouth to speak, "Do you think you can help me get Kuromi down, please?"
Simon gazed down at her hopeful eyes, and simply nodded, "Stand back."
Angel nodded, "Thank you so much!"
She stepped away and watched the man get closer to the tree. "Be careful!" Angel said, her hands clasped against her chest, watching Simon work his way up the tree quickly.
"Kuromi, you hurt him and I'll fist-fight you!" Angel shouted at her cat, who hissed back down at her owner.
Simon couldn't help but chuckle at the woman's antics and when he knew if he climbed any higher, no branch would support his weight, he broke one with his bare hand and used it as a makeshift ladder for the cat. He stretched his body as much as he could, "Come on, kitty, get over here." Simon crooned.
To his utter surprise, the cat listened and started slowly scooting over towards him on a shaky branch. Kuromi successfully reached Simon's branch and held onto it very tightly and Simon gently lowered the cat down towards him. As soon as she was easily reachable, he grabbed the cat by the scruff of her neck and hugged her to his chest with one hand.
"Alright, now how can I get down with you?..." Simon mumbled and hummed when he got an idea. He hugged the cat with one arm and used the other to zip off his hoodie, using his thick thighs for support so he wouldn't fall.
Angel watched with awe how Simon managed to completely take off his zip-up hoodie, leaving his glorious amazing upper half naked, and bundled up Kuromi in the hoodie. Simon glanced down at Angel and smirked under his mask, "Catch!"
Angel literally screamed and he laughed, almost tearing up. "You dickhead!" Angel shouted, ripping grass from the ground out of anger and throwing it towards his direction.
Simon made a makeshift fanny pack using the hoodie's sleeves, securing Kuromi against his chest while he carefully climbed down. When he wasn't too far from the ground, he decided to jump off and roll to safety, with the cat still clutched against his chest.
Angel almost fainted and immediately ran to Simon as he stood up, dusting off his knees. "My baby!" She cried, grabbing her cat from the hoodie and kissing the kitty over and over on her small face.
Simon watched the woman with amusement as she checked over her cat and finally looked at Simon, her cat still in his arms. "Thank you so much for saving the life of my dumbass cat. But if you scare me like that again, I will make you regret it." She said, pressing a finger to Simon's naked chest.
He glanced down at her finger and met her eyes cooly, "You're welcome."
"You actually scared me so much, probably even more than Kuromi did!" Angel sighed, nuzzling her face in her cat's fur. Now Simon actually feels a bit guilty for scaring her and scratched the back of his neck.
"Do you want a cup of coffee?" He offered.
Angel lifted her head, surprised, "Cup of coffee?"
"To apologise."
Angel blinked at the man and cracked a small smile, "I think I'd like that."
Simon gave her an awkward nod and jumped over the fence and turned to her, hoodie held in his hand. "Come on."
Angel looked at the fence and then at her cat still in her arms, "Uhm, okay, hold Kuromi for me."
She walked closer to the fence, holding Kuromi so Simon could grab her. But Simon dodged the cat and held her by the armpits, just like she was holding her cat and easily lifted her over the fence. Angel squealed and wrapped her legs around his waist and wrapped one arm around his neck while the other was holding Kuromi against her chest.
Simon froze, his hands hovering over her back.
"What are you guys doing?"
Angel and Simon whipped their heads towards the voice and saw Soap holding a basket full of clean laundry, ready to hang it outside to dry while Gaz held a smaller basket of colourful pegs.
"Uhm, nothing!" Angel let out a nervous laugh and jumped off Simon, rushing inside their home with her cat in her arms.
Soap and Gaz glanced at each other and then back at Simon, "Why are you shirtless?" Gaz asked.
"Had to use my hoodie for the cat." Was Simon's dry answer and he walked inside, leaving Soap and Gaz with even more questions.
He found Angel awkwardly standing in the middle of their kitchen, and noticed that she was barefoot. "Wait here." He said and left the kitchen.
Angel took the opportunity to look around the kitchen. It was tidy and didn't have any plants or any sort of decoration. The fridge did have some menus and coupon codes for Domino's on it. However, next to the kettle, there was an impressive coffee machine, the sort that's expensive with many settings, fancy buttons and cool gadgets.
Angel barely drinks coffee, almost never, but now she was excited to see Simon work the cool machine.
She heard footsteps and turned around. Ghost was back and dressed in a t-shirt now, he also had a pair of slippers in his hands. "Wear these." He placed the pair next to her feet and Angel did as he said, heart fluttering in her chest, how silly.
"What would you like?" He asked, turning around and washing his hands in the sink.
"What?" Angel said, staring at his ass, completely distracted.
"Coffee. What sort of coffee would you like?" He turned back around, just as Angel ripped her eyes from his ass.
"Uhm," Angel gulped, she had no idea if he caught her staring or not but she wanted to scream either way. "I don't drink coffee that much, so make me something sweet, please."
Ghost stared at her silently, which made Angel nervous. Did she say something weird?
"What's wrong?"
Simon shrugged, "Nothing." and went straight to work, preparing mugs and pressing this button and that button on the coffee machine.
Both Angel and Kuromi were intensely staring at the beeping sleek machine and Simon smiled when he noticed. "What does Kuromi mean?"
"The name itself or who is she named after?" Angel ripped her eyes away from the coffee machine and looked over at Simon.
"Both."
Angel smiled, "Well, according to Google, Kuromi in Japanese means 'black beauty', but I've named her after a cartoon character whose name is Kuromi. Actually, Let me show you."
Simon glanced at the woman as she dug her hand in her pocket and retrieved her phone, opening google."That's Kuromi," Angel said, making Simon lean closer so he can see better.
"What type of creature is that?" Simon asked, squinting his eyes and trying to guess what type of animal the character was.
"It's actually a white bunny wearing a black jester hat! See! It even has a little pink skull! And instead of having a fluffy tail, she has a devil's tail, isn't she cute?" Angel said, Simon looked at her then back down at the cat in his arms.
"But your cat isn't a rabbit." Simon said.
"I know! But look! She's white with black ears! And a black tail! And she's mischievous just like Kuromi! And I gave her a pink collar with a pink skull!" Angel said, practically vibrating next to Simon, eyes big and literally glowing.
Simon tilted his head down and lifted the kitty's chin up, seeing the shiny skull dangling off the collar. He turned the skull over, reading Angel's full name and phone number.
"I can see the similarities." Simon hummed, giving the cat scratches, making her purr.
"There's another similarity, actually." Angel grinned.
"Really?" Simon said, still scratching the cat.
"Between Kuromi and you!" Angel said, and Simon lifted his head, meeting her eyes, he raised a brow, prompting her to spit it out.
"The skulls, silly!" Angel giggled.
Oh, yeah. The skulls.
Simon unconsciously reached for his mask but stopped his hand before it caressed the hand painted skull. The machine beeped and Simon removed the mug from under the machine, opening the cupboards to get sugar.
"Can we join you for a cup of coffee?" Soap suddenly asked, entering the kitchen, followed by Gaz.
"Of course, this is your house." Angel smiled and Gaz immediately ran to the cat in her arms, cooing and petting the little thing.
"And you have to tell us how you ended up on him while he was shirtless, which he wasn't, earlier in the day." Soap said while getting snacks.
"Okay, and did you know that your friend Simon is actually an evil little shit?" Angel said, as if it was the most shocking thing ever while she sat down at the table next to Gaz, who was holding her cat in his arms.
"Ghost, call me Ghost." Simon quickly corrected her.
"Ghost actually scared the shit out of me, I thought I was going to die!" Angel continued without missing a beat.
"You thought you were going to die? What the hell happened while I was in the shower?" Price said, walking inside the kitchen, wearing a white t-shirt and a pair of shorts, hair still wet.
"Oh my days, John, sit down and let me tell you what he did!" Angel groaned, patting the other seat next to her.
"Well, alright then." John shrugged and sat down.
Simon sighed, placing her mug down and getting more mugs out to make coffee for everyone, "Fucking hell…"

My Dearest Shadow
Jason Voorhees x GN! Reader
Pt. 2
(It might lean fem at times but I’m going to try my best to keep it neutral for everyone!)
Read Pt 1 here
Tumblr media
Tw: stalking, paranoia, jason shenanigans
(I’m forcing you to enjoy tea and baking, and there’s nothing you can do about it ✨💖)
1,018 words below the cut
Previously in Chapter 1:
Your eagerness got the better of you, and you turned around despite the loud thumping in your chest. There was nothing at first as you searched through the closest trees. A figure quickly moved to the side at the edge of your vision- a very large figure. You gulped, scanning the tree line and focusing on a thick tree trunk hiding the person well. Whoever they were, they were most definitely right there, and to your knowledge, this was the closest encounter you'd had with them while awake.
You tried to think of something to say, pondering if you should have said anything at all in this tense moment.
What were you supposed to do…?
He was there. He had been here since you'd arrived near the camp. He didn't know how long it had been since the last few teenagers had come around, and he had slaughtered them all. But now you were here... you'd been here longer than he expected.
Once he realized how close you were to the campgrounds, he was inclined to kill you, just like all the others.
It took quite a few days of convincing from his mother to spare you, telling him you were different. You were not a threat. From then on, he only watched from afar, through your windows and from the tree line, as you fixed up the cottage you apparently owned. He didn't recognize it, not that he spent much time surveying areas past the campgrounds.
You became somewhat of an obsession. His days were mostly spent between your house, watching you go about your day, and patrolling the campgrounds. He made it an unconscious habit to ensure you woke up, ate something, and were safe as you worked around the small cabin.
He had held himself back several times. You were clumsy and nearly always found a way to hurt yourself from your extraneous activities, but he could never risk revealing himself to you. You’d injured yourself more than once, and it took everything in him not to rush to your side. But he restrained himself. As difficult as it was.
By the end of the first year you had been here, he was way beyond obsessed with you. He paid attention to everything you did in the utmost detail. How you liked tea over coffee, how you enjoyed baking- and how he enjoyed the smell it gave the air around your home. How you laughed at seemingly invisible things you saw, how your eyes wandered toward the lake every so often, how you stared off and sighed as you finished a thought. Your habit of pacing as you mumbled to yourself. Your music tastes from what he could hear you play beyond your cabin walls. He didn’t care about the music, just your angelic voice that sang or hummed along.
He took in everything you did and wasn't wholly oblivious—he knew that you knew he was there. Though he never risked you seeing him, the last thing he wanted was to scare you away—he wanted you to stay. He wanted you to be here and live close to where he defended. In his mind, your property was now part of his. Your land was an extension of his land that he so carefully protected.
He would keep you safe; he would be your silent protector, your shadow. But if you'd seen him, you would have run in a heartbeat like all the others.
He understood he was intimidating- large and bulky, towering over everyone he'd ever come across, strong enough to scare anyone- you'd be frightened at just his body in front of you. He figured the mask would throw you off, and he could never expect someone else- especially someone so attractive as you- to accept him the way he was. Perhaps it would’ve been different if he looked “normal”. Maybe then he would’ve had just a chance.
He had made the mistake of making noise this time. His approach was closer than usual, standing just past the first few trees lining the side of your home.
You had been deep in thought, mumbling as you dug out a garden bed and planted a small sprinkle of unidentifiable seeds in each hole your small hand scooped out. You looked like an angel sitting there on the ground, hair messily out of the way and your clothing caked in mulch and soil.
How you cared so carefully for each hole you dug and how gingerly you maneuvered the plants that had already taken sprout in small plastic containers had him reeling for you- much more than smitten at this point. How gentle you were. How soft and caring you were to the flora. How you seemed to whisper to the tiny sprouts as if they could hear you. It made him even more head-over-heels.
The snap of a twig under his thick boot was all it took, a step closer to lean beyond the tree to ogle you more intently as you stood from the ground and stretched out like some divine being before him. You noticeably froze at the sound but didn't whip around as he expected- and prepared for already leaning away to escape your gleaming eyes that would no doubt hold fear at his presence being known.
Instead, you remained calm, finishing stretching out before turning cautiously. Your pause threw him off, and he had to move quickly to hide behind the tree. He stood stiff as a board, tuning into your silence and hoping he'd been fast enough that you hadn't seen much of him. A worry you had caught sight of his form bloomed in his chest, a worry that melted into insecure anxiety.
He couldn’t move now. He couldn’t turn and walk away, not that he had any desire to. He didn’t want you seeing any more of him than you already had. He was stuck behind this tree. Stuck and too nervous to think of what to do next.
What was he supposed to do…?

Across the Waves
I wrote this... then stopped... decided to come back to it at midnight... whoops
Sun got a fic from me so... who's next~?
Forgive any mistakes or weird phrases
Even the night was gloomy. Not even one sparkling speck in the sky.
Your sandals separated your feet from the now cold sand, but didn't stop the few strays from sticking in between your toes. "Moon?" You called out, looking out at the span of the beach front, black waves washing the shore to your right, large rocks and trees lining your left.
Today, all of the boys had wanted out of the tank and to stretch their legs out. Eclipse wasn't always the most talkative, but as the biggest out of the lot (and the most stern), you had no worry when he ventured out by himself. He certainly had a presence to not be messed with. However, Moon was different.
Not that he couldn't take care of himself, being the most sneaky out of the trio had it's advantages... Until it pushes Sun a bit off the bend and he accidentally dirties his brother's bright yellow garb. If it had been Eclipse, or even reversed, it probably would have just made the whole event funnier. But not when one of your slugs was the largest germaphobe you'd had the pleasure to meet.
"Moony?" You called again, still no obvious 7ft slug man in sight. Of course, you didn't blame Moony. You did try to warn him that your drink was on the edge of the stout coffee table but by then, it was too late. The Hypselodoris Obscura startling its brother back and knocking the drink in the process.
An incident like this was very much like any regular family, a small thing blown out of proportion. But until it was clean enough again, Sunny wouldn't be able to return the water. So as much there was slight tension, you'd quickly thrown it into the wash before coming out here to hunt the culprit. You knew it would be fine, and so did Sun (behind all the frustrated grumbles). Now time to reassure blue boy.
A gentle hum reached your ears. Or at least, within your mind. You looked over to the trees and caught the faintest speckled glow. They were certainly not there a second ago. Chuckling softly, you made your way to the sulking incarnate of the moon, the musical mumbles growing in volume. Behind the scrawny trunks, Moon was crouched down to the half grass, half sand ground, both arms wrapped around his torso.
"Hey there." Though he already knew you were there, it never hurt to inform him that he was indeed found. He didn't look up to you, the back of his cloak losing its glow to return hidden in the shadows. "You ok, big baby?"
The bells on the large hood rang as he turned his head slightly to you, though you still couldn't see him. "Is Sunny angry?" He asked solemnly. Stepping around the train of his coat, you knelt down beside him to see he'd bent down before a little pool of water. You weren't sure if anything was within it, but didnt chance dipping your fingers in.
A small laugh left you. "You know he can never stay angry at you." You thought for a second. "At least, until he gets to scold you for being a menace to his wellbeing." A raspy chuckle was your response. Good. "So, am I going to have you drag you back, or do you want to stay here a bit longer?" Moon outstretched a hand to glide over the small pool before you both, the circular movements almost hypnotic.
Moon said nothing, though did return to his melody. It was a gentle song, he would hum it on occasion but it was always welcomed. And every time he did, you would catch his shoulders loosening up, the tension easing from his form. Seeing his back droop a little bit, you rose a hand and pressed it to his back, rubbing up and down for a few moments, a sigh leaving your sweet Obscura. "Sorry." The hood murmured, his face still hidden. "Knocked your drink." He elaborated.
"It's ok, Moony." You shrugged. "It'd probably been cold for ages. May as well be poison by that point."
He chuckled again, the tone not as croaky, and leaned into your touch. "Then I'm not sorry. I saved you."
A gasp left your lips in return. "What a generous hero you are!" Your free hand rose and pressed against your chest for added theatrics. "You should be rewarded instead!"
Red eyes turned to meet yours finally, the off-white glow of his pupils soft like his namesake. There was a charming grin on his face but you could see tiredness in the expression too, the mental strain of an internal war having taken its toll on him until he clawed back to himself. From him shifting, the hand on his back moved to his shoulder, cupping him whilst rubbing small circles with your thumb like his fingers across the dark liquid.
Dropping the arm from his chest, his hand moved to lay over yours on his shoulder, scooping up your dinky digits in his much larger hand and nuzzled his cheek over the knuckles, eyes closing as he red against them like a tiny pillow. "Warm." He noted softly, moving to press the back of your palm to his chin. "My sweet sea star..." His voice echoed in your head, making you sigh gently.
"C'mon..." you started, "we should get home before the other-"
He tugged you into his chest. Face planting into the ruffles of his gown. His hand leaving yours to secure your middle to his. An arm wrapping around your shoulders... Which all sounds nice enough... Until you feel wet fingertips rub the back of your neck. Body temperature falling drastically as stray droplets worked their way down your back. "MOON-!"
He ripped away from you just as fast as he pulled you in, leaving you stretching and almost scratching the coldness away from your throat as quickly as possible, though making you look like a maniac in the process. He was giggling and cackling to himself, standing back up on his feet though not too far away for you to see his face and glare at his betrayal.
"Alright boy. That's it." He stopped his laughter, the grin was still etched on his face as he watched you slowly take off your sandals and rise, the sand smooth against your toes. "You better run before you have to face both Sun AND my anger!"
The laughing resumed and he ran away as you gave chase, though, the way he was 'running' was more like a weird crab scurrying away. Making him looking like a little gremlin in your eyes. But he never outrun you. Always remained the same distance as you both ran back home. Where Moon was promptly scolded by his sunnier twin before being welcomed back home.

Tumblr media
There was a gust of wind, during which you did nothing. When it passed, you took a deep breath with your eyes closed, then exhaled.
"Ok, focus." You whispered for yourself.
Your eyes stared at the target for a few seconds, frowning. And suddenly, your right hand let go of the bowstring, making the arrow soar. Your tongue clicked against your palate when you saw that the arrow didn't land on the center.
"It'll never land on the center." You grumbled, taking another arrow.
"You got better." You turned around recognizing your boyfriend's voice. He was leaning against the trunk of a large tree behind you, his arms crossed against his chest.
"You think so?" You asked doubtfully. "I think I should stick with the Beretta." You contradict, turning back to the target.
"Let me observe your movements so I can help you." He said as he came toward you.
You nodded, cocking the bow. You took the same inspiration and made the same exhalation as earlier. No sooner had you cocked the bow than you felt Hanzo's hands on your shoulders.
"Your shoulders are too tight."
You moved your shoulders slightly until Hanzo removed his hands. He moved to stand on your right. He raised the bow a little, then put his hand on your right wrist. He pulled it back gently, until my hand reached my face and the bowstring was tighter. He then walked back behind you.
"Stabilize your breathing correctly, it's a bit erratic."
"I have to admit that it's hard to stabilize it when you're so close and you touch me that much." You said with a glance at him.
"Focus." He ordered with a bit of amusement all the same. You smiled, trying to indeed stabilize your breathing as you could. "Let go of the string."
You obey immediately. The arrow landed closer to the center, although it wasn't exactly there.
"Not so bad." He said while you were turning toward to him.
"Unfortunately, you won't always be able to guide me that much."
"You just have to tell yourself that it's quite similar to the gun. With a little practice, you won't need me anymore." He assured.
"If you say so." You sighed.
His lips gently rested on your forehead. Your free hand rested on his forearm, before you kissed him tenderly on the lips. You removed the quiver hanging from your back before handing it with the bow to Hanzo.
"Show me, I'll learn easier if I look at you doing it."
"You've already told me this many times." He reminded you, taking the bow and the quiver. "And everytime you absolutely don't pay any attention at what I was doing."
"This time, I really will look at your moves." You said while standing next to him.
"I won't make you promise that."
You couldn't hold back an amused smile. Meanwhile, he put the quiver before getting into position in front of the target. He took an arrow, fully concentrate in his actions. The swift movement of his tongue on his lower lip was the thing that made you forget about the initial purpose of this. Your eyes landed on his tattooed arm. Everytime you were looking at it, it felt like you were discovering again his tattoo and its hypnotizing patterns, which were fitting perfectly his muscles. You knew it by heart, feature by feature, and yet it still amazed you.
"Mh… it wasn't super great." He suddenly said. I snapped out of my thoughts to shake my head sharply in response.
"It was perfect, as always." You assured with a smile.
He looked at you for a moment without saying anything, before having a thin amused smile. You remained silent, not understanding what made him smile like that. And, to your surprise, he let out a very short chuckle, making you even more lost than you already were.
"What did I say?" You asked, completely lost.
"Well…" He raised his bow. You then saw that the arrow was still there, and that there were only the arrows that you had shot on the target. "You will always be the same."
"Excuse me, but it's really hard not be distracted."
He shook his head slightly, then in one swift motion and quick succession, he drew his bow and fired the arrow at the target. Of course, it landed right in its center without a problem.
"It's a compliment, in case you weren't aware of this." You explained with confidence, your head nodding and your arms crossed on your chest.
"Fortunately for you, I don't have any focus problem as soon as you do something." He said, getting rid of the bow and the quiver.
"I wouldn't mind it…" You murmured.
"I actually prefer not to shot any arrow on you." He said.
You nodded with a smile to confirm his words. Your hands on his shoulders, you placed a chaste kiss on his lips. His hands ended up on your cheeks as he kissed me back. He just put his lips on yours, you didn't move them. It was just a nice little peck that still gave you as many butterflies as the first time.
Needless to say, despite all this time and all the effort in the world to concentrate during a training, it would still be difficult for you as long as Hanzo was close enough to make your heart beats fast.
