A Little White Chapel Wedding (LS18)
(Part 3 of the Blind Item Series) Summary: Lance and his now wife had their reasons for eloping, he just hopes his dad will understand.
Lance and his girlfriend, now wife, had always wanted to keep their relationship out of the spotlight. Given how much hate and controversy surrounded Lance due to his father’s ownership of the team, he had already taken a major step back from social media. He knew that dating another heir apparent would piss many fans off, even if it was solely for love that they were together. Both of their families knew and greatly approved of the relationship but once Lance had proposed it seemed their families wanted to take over fully. Wedding preparations had been started without any input from the groom and bride-to-be. Seeing all these decisions made without the two’s consent had put a ton of stress on them. This was supposed to be the happiest day of their lives and they had absolutely no say in the matter. Guest lists full of investors and other business partners took away from the intimacy of the event. No detail was left unscrutinized and it was going to be far too extravagant, as this was going to be the first time they announced their relationship and the families joining together.
When Lance and his fiancee had gotten to Vegas, they had no plans of getting married that weekend. The thought only crossed Lance’s mind after the race.
“P5 Lance! Oh honey I couldn’t be more proud.” She said as she ran up and hugged him. She had been waiting what felt like forever to congratulate him, as he had been so surrounded the minute the race ended.
Pulling away from the hug, Lance put his hands on her cheeks as he said “let's get married”
“We are, Lance.” She responded, perplexed.
“Tonight. Let's elope and have an actual wedding about the two of us. No one else.”
“Honey, our families would kill us if we did that.” While the idea sounded wonderfully romantic and gave her butterflies just thinking about it, it just couldn’t work with the way things were.
“Who cares? We don’t have to tell them right away. We get married now, take an extra long honeymoon over break and then tell them once the season starts.”
“I don’t know Lance.”
“Please? It is unfair we don’t get to have the wedding we want. Who gives a shit about the guestlist with a million business partners we’ve never met. If they still need a wedding then we will do it their way but let's have our way first.”
She took a minute to respond, thinking the idea over before she finally gave her answer. “Okay, Lance. Let's get married.”
Lance had never envisioned his wedding going the way it did, but he also never saw it the way his family planned it to be.
Although as happy as he was, he felt so guilty when he thought of how his family would feel knowing that he got married without them there to see it. As important as business was to Lawrence Stroll, he knew his dad valued and loved his family above all else.
Over break, the newlyweds had gone on a bit of a delayed honeymoon, posed as just a really nice vacation.
They only got the honeymoon suit because they really wanted to go all out. No other reason…
They thought they had made it out unscathed, planning on telling their family in a week when they had gotten back from their vacation. Too bad they didn’t get to.
Lance’s wife saw the post first. He barely checked socials anymore. When the photos of them confirmed that the Blind Items post was about them, she felt a chill run through her body. Their families had to have known already, public image was important to both of them so they definitely had PR teams constantly checking what was going on. And she was correct.
“Honey, I just got a call from my Dad. He sounded pretty upset, and said we had to come home quickly and meet with him.” Lance said, confused and worried. His dad rarely sounded as serious as he did on the phone.
Wordlesy, she passed her phone to Lance with the tweet pulled up. She could see the color drain from his face as he read through replies. Fuck this wasn’t good.
What was probably the most stressful plane ride of Lance’s life was also painstakingly long. He couldn’t swallow the guilt building in his throat at how upset his father must be.
The once welcoming and happy house was now cold and silent as the couple walked inside. His father didn’t greet them, just told the two of them to follow him into his office. Lance just held his wife’s hand and squeezed it reassuringly as they made their way up there.
Lawrence still remained silent as he sat in his chair, looking at his married son and new daughter-in-law for the first time.
Lance was the one to break the silence.
“Dad, I know this is a lot but please-” He was cut off by the simple raise of his father’s hand to silence him.
“Why, Lance? We spend all this time planning the two of you a beautiful wedding just for you both to throw it away? For what?”
“Dad, you dont under-”
“No, Lance, I don’t. I mean how could you be so stupid?”
“Please if you just listen, Dad-”
“I have never been more disrespected by yo-”
“Stop!” Lance’s wife spoke up. She finally had to butt in. “You tell Lance you don’t understand and when he tries to explain you cut him off! How are we supposed to have a conversation when you won’t let anyone else speak?”
Silence spread across the room as no one dared to respond. She could practically feel the smoke coming out of her ears.
“Dad. We eloped because we wanted something that was for us. The wedding you were planning wasn’t ours. We didn’t have a say in anything. From guest list to menu, you all controlled that. We wanted to get married on our own terms. While I will forever be sorry you weren’t with us, I am not sorry for getting married the way I did, to the girl I love.” Lance grabbed your hand once again to squeeze, to remind him why he did what he did.
His father didn’t say anything for a few moments. The newlyweds waited patiently, praying Lawrence wouldn’t fly off the handle again.
Finally he said, “Then I owe you both an apology. I understand that you both had expectations for your wedding and not having any say in the matter didn’t feel good. I wish you both said something. At the end of the day though, this is still a big deal for our families business-wise. You are my only son though, Lance, I wish I could have seen you get married.”
“We can still have the wedding, Mr.Stoll. Our plan was just to have something for ourselves, then have the main event be for everyone else.”
Lawrence smiled at that. Happy he would still get to see his son get married, even if it is the second time.
This time luckily, the couple got a bit more of a say in wedding preparations. With no comment from either family, the Vegas elopement was quickly forgotten once more pressing gossip reached the public.
While it still wasn’t what Lance and his wife had envisioned, having their families there this time was all they could ask for.

Why I hate Jack Krauser for all the right reasons
Okay, so before I get lynched by someone; this is just my opinion and thoughts, I haven't played much of the original and so I'm solely going off the remake here. [I'm sorry in advance if I end up upsetting anyone. I'd be more than happy to hear other's thoughts on the topic of Krauser.] I wanna start with the obvious reason why. Killing off one of my favourites, Luis Serra. [Listen, I know it was different in the original RE4 where it was Saddler instead but let me be salty for a moment.] Luis had the Amber, he had his ticket out. He could've escaped with Ada yet helped Leon and Ashley at the same time (I know he technically still does help even after he dies by giving the lab key) But then Krauser had to come in, kill the beloved Spaniard to retrieve the Amber and proceeded to duel Leon with the intention of killing him. Just the pure malice in his voice when he says the word "Rookie". It's enough to practically send a chill. And then when Leon had originally reached for his gun and Krauser puts the same knife he killed Luis with to Leon's throat. The speed at which he moves at is terrifying. I know there's the counterargument of Krauser being controlled by the Plaga. But I still wanna go over the boss fight Krauser was Leon's mentor, that is pretty common knowledge. But just the build up to the fight. The dog tags that were left on display and the photo of rookie Leon with the words "I'M WAITING". Like, he didn't need to do that. But he did anyway.
And then the back and forth between them before the actual fight. Leon tries to talk sense into Krauser, but it's evident that Krauser was already too far gone. That is a shell of who he once was, and now he just wants to end Leon. Also the way his body mutates during the boss fight really puts the final nail in the coffin. The line "Dead? No, I've been reborn..." really shows just how lost the actual Krauser is inside that body. Now it was just a husk of a man, a mindless mutant that's set out to kill.
And by the end, when Leon hold Krauser's knife, he sees a reflection of himself in it. Unlike earlier when in that one sequence after Verdugo it was Krauser's reflection looking right back at Leon. It really just reflects for a moment as to what had occurred. Leon had defeated his mentor, the very person who had trained him to be the agent he was today. I know this isn't normally the type of stuff I post and this is just a rant that could've been summed up with "I don't like Krauser because he killed Luis :(" and me being salty about it. But I do see the appeal! I can see why people like him. Hell, I think he is a pretty damn good rival to Leon due to both their past together and how Krauser matches his skill and strength level (I know, he used to be his mentor, no shit). [Though I don't see why some people ship them. That's just not my thing.} Anyways, if you read all of that: I'm sorry. Why? It felt like I just pointed to the obvious things that happened in game with some parts probably being overlooked. Okay rant over. Have a nice rest of your time awake.

Anon that y’all labeled “Sammy defender” here. And just fyi, me having a different opinion then you does not mean im trying to salvage her name because i think she’s pretty. But anyways this is me honestly trying to understand where you guys are coming from cause there’s stuff that’s been concluded that makes zero sense to me.
How does her sitting on a guys lap automatically equal her cheating on jack? We don’t know if they discussed boundaries and have said that stuff like that with close friends is ok. Relationships are all different and heck maybe the guy is gay and that’s why she felt comfortable doing it. Also exactly what proof is there that jack cheated on Sammy? If it’s true I feel like this is yet another case of women getting vilified for doing the same thing men do while men getting very little criticism. Cause I have heard no one complaining or spam commenting on insta or giving Jack grief for being a cheater but Sammy (allegedly) cheating makes her scum of earth. People constantly excuse jacks part in this relationship as it being a toxic relationship. Oh it has to be “toxic” and he has to be “trapped”. But maybe just maybe, jacks a bad person too.
I am also trying to understand why you guys call her a Zionist? Is it solely because she is presumably Jewish and visited Israel? And the luke thing. I think it’s insane that Sammy, from what i understand, was allegedly rejected by Luke and threw a fit and then randomly was still able to get with jack?? Cause honestly if that’s the case it’s on jack 100%.
You guys are saying that Ellen and Jim are PR freaks and that a lot of media that has come out with jack and Sammy, they look really happy. But then say that things are awkward between Sammy and jack and his family BECAUSE of media that has come out? Media and pictures can be misleading. Quinn and Luke both can look veryyyyy awkward in pictures but that doesn’t mean they hate their friends or brothers who are in the pic too.
Also I don’t know if you guys have just forgotten but sienna got a lot of hate on other discussion boards while she was dating Jack. It was mostly after they broke up that people started liking her.
On a real note, I don’t have any particularly strong feelings towards Sammy but I have period of being on and off tumblr and recently when I came back I was just so taken aback by the extent of bashing and personal attacks against her. It is truly a way higher amount of hate towards her than any other wags recently. And I see common phrases being used like “I think”, “I feel”, “yeah I could believe that”, and comments talking about energies when making statements about Sammy. It starts as theories and speculation, and gets repeated so many times that people on tumblr believe it as fact. Please remember everyone to be kind and keep in mind that we are all human. Mental health matters and really anything can be interpreted in a million different ways.
I’ll try to answer each of your questions:
1. Being in a relationship and sitting on another guys lap some don’t take to that lightly especially the boyfriend. You’re right in saying we don’t know they’re dynamic as both have slept with other people and they’re still together. Her sitting on a guys lap may not be physically cheating but it’s definitely wrong
2. Her and her friends went on a mission trip ( that’s the closest thing I can compare it to) to Israel . There might be photos but I can’t remember
3. Jim and Ellen want what’s best for the boys and after Jack and Sami hooking up if that hadve gotten to the public that would’ve put a dent in his reputation. So the PR thing was to keep Jack in everyone’s good graces. As far as how the family views her and actually thinks of her idk. However with evidence provided from other anons who have said things that turned out to be true Sammy did try to go for Luke so I can see him being uncomfortable around her and if Quinn knows I can see him not taking a liking to her either. Her parents, like Luke, probably are trying to stay cordial with her again to keep the peace because their family is in the public eye and now one of the most famous hockey families so they have to keep a certain image.
4. I didn’t start hockey till after they had broken up so all I saw was people saying they liked sienna but I didn’t see the hate. Some Jack fans are gonna hate who he dates regardless of if they’re nice or not but I don’t think sienna did half of what Sammy did
What really turns people off is that anons have been correct in her being mean or making mean comments to people and the SA joke really turned people off because why are your friends making that joke in a comment section and your agreeing by liking it?

Locking his office’s door, Shinsou gave it a precautious pull to check that the important documents were kept safe inside. Luckily, he never had problems like the other heroes - Bakugou and Midoriya especially - where spies would come and try to steal his business information. He was just a good hero, not a superhero. Good. But his firm was going well enough to have some reliable heroes working under him, and that was enough for Shinsou.
Putting on his coat, he made his way down the long corridor to the elevator. His secretary had made sure to lock up before leaving earlier that evening, Shinsou supposedly the only one late, so he was left in the dark with only the dim emergency lights shining his way. It had gotten pretty late, quarter after eleven, but he was glad he got to go home at all that day rather than sleep on the office couch again. A nice, hot shower and a barely used bed were expecting him after all; how could he refuse these alluring offers of his own home?
Shinsou only slowed down his steps when he noticed the faint lights shining out of one of the offices located further down the hallway. Well, he was supposed to be the last, but honestly, he didn’t know who went home already and who hadn’t. Stepping to the far right so he could look ahead at the doors better, he noticed it was your office still occupied, and for a moment, he tensed, fearing the worst. What if it was a spy or robber that had broken in? You were the media representative of the company. Every statement and scandal that needed to be worked on, promotions sent out, and appearances that needed to be managed were in your hand. It could be fatal if unnecessary pieces of information came to light because someone snooped through your work.
Stepping closer on soft soles, Shinsou tried to make out sounds that would confirm his suspicions. However, it quickly became clear that it was just you by the long sigh you heaved. It had been a few days since he last saw you, always too busy to check in with everyone in his company, so Shinsou not only felt relieved but also a little happy he’d get to send you home that day. He felt his heart flutter but quickly composed himself. You worked harder than most at his company, your work never coming to an end, and as your boss, he had to stay professional even if you made his pulse race. It would be his greatest pleasure for him to send you home now, considering it was already late. That’s the least he could do for someone he was so fond of.
Without hesitation, Shinsou knocked, hearing rustling rush through your office as you stuttered, “O-One second!” in surprise, and he couldn’t help but grin hearing your voice. You had always been special to him; after all, you had been one of the first to ever join his firm when it was still in its baby shoes. You stuck with him all this time even as the company grew and more responsibilities were shoved your way, and you both grew with the challenges. Truly, if anyone, you and Shinsou were the backbone of this whole endeavor, and he was incredibly fond of your never-ceasing enthusiasm and charisma.
Not long after, he heard you walk up to the door quickly, opening it with a tired smile on your face. “Good Evening!” you greeted him, still as chipper as if it was morning, but he knew that the bags under your eyes weren’t lying about how exhausted you are. “Are you ready to go home?” he asked, looking over your shoulder to your desk and seeing the many files and papers piling up on your desk. “O-Oh, you know… Just a few more minutes, and I’ll be done.”
Shinsou couldn’t help but not believe you. ‘A few more minutes’ always meant at least one more hour, and leaving you now to go home while you had to stay late would make him feel incredibly guilty. “What are you working on? Can I help you with it?” he asked, stepping forward to get inside when you stood in his way firmly.
“Nothing, Sir! I’ll be out here in a bit and lock the door when I leave! You don’t have to worry about me.”
Odd, he thought, his brows furrowing in suspicion. “It looks like a lot, though,” he tried to persuade you, and this time, when he tried to move past you, you reluctantly gave up your stance to let him in. “It really isn’t!” you were quick to call after him, but you had probably already realized Shinsou wasn’t going to be swayed from his idea that quickly. “One of our men got into a quarrel with someone from Endeavor’s firm, and I just need to write down the public statement and be gone!”
You rushed past him, and Shinsou couldn’t stop wondering why you seemed so hectic. Setting down his bag and the coat he had taken off again already, he reached for the file on top of all the others to have a look himself. However, before he could so much as pick it up, your hand fell down onto it, and he was surprised by the strength you used to pin it beneath your palm. Finally, Shinsou looked up at you, watching as you avoided his gaze, gnawing on your lip. Something was definitely wrong.
When you first started, both you and he had been rookies at best. Everything you two did wasn’t up to par with other companies, but you two bit your tongues and accepted the whiplash you received for the ways you were doing things. All this made you both stronger, and before long, you wouldn’t go out to have drinks anymore every night, becoming more serious and working even harder. Yes, the work changed you two, but he thought it was simply the way of growing up. However, right now, your behavior was childish at best. He was just offering help. Shinsou trusted you more than himself, but the way you acted gave him a bad feeling.
“[Name],” he said gently, trying to soothe the tension coming from you. “Show me what you’re working on, I will help you with it, and we can wrap it up and go home. You look like you could use the sleep.”
He’d be the bigger person. Shinsou realized that all these responsibilities had always just been on your shoulders. Perhaps he should have hired someone to take some of the workloads off of you. Maybe that’s why it was so hard to accept help now? You might feel like you weren’t good enough if you couldn’t keep up with it. He made a mental note to look into hiring a helping hand for you the next day.
Finally, you looked up at him, almost as if tears were going to shoot into your eyes. You sighed, shoulders slumping and your hand slowly sliding off the top of the file, only to grab your own arm and hugging yourself. Something was very wrong; that’s what Shinsou’s gut told him. Very, very wrong.
Opening up the file, he skipped through the sentences, trying to remember what incident it was with only a few keywords. Even if it wasn’t his main priority work, he knew about difficulties that the heroes of the agency had, nonetheless because he was the one to reprimand them and make decisions over further actions. But his brows kept furrowing as he began to read the sentences properly, realizing that what he held in his hands wasn’t a press statement about a work-related incident at all. This was a big promotion for a hero, and that hero wasn’t Shinsou.
His mouth opened, surprised, taken aback by his findings. It was hard to piece together why exactly he was holding a piece of your work, but it wasn’t for his agency at all. Immediately, a hundred little devils peaked up inside of him, giving him all kinds of bad ideas. He didn’t want to believe them, especially when they spoke about betrayal from you so much, but Shinsou’s eyes searched for yours helplessly as he kept on coming up with more bizarre explanations.
“It’s… it’s not like that!” you were quick to deny it as you caught his gaze. Shinsou wished that the bad feeling he had prior to this would disappear hearing you say that, but really, it had already begun to fester inside of him. “How is it then?” he croaked, wishing you’d give him a good reason for your doings. To him, this seemed like you’d be leaving. It seemed like you were preparing to get a better gig somewhere else. Was this agency no longer good enough? Was Shinsou no longer good enough for you? After everything you two went through?
“They’re my friend! I was just helping them to get a better start with agencies! That’s why I made these promotions for them...”
Oh, he wished he could have believed that. You were convincing, but the bad spiral Shinsou already found himself on had taken over, telling him it was all a lie. “Promotions?” he mumbled, reaching for another file and another. Photos, praise - all of it in your writing and composition. Why wasn’t there even one file that would have shown him the work you did for Shinsou and his agency? Was he not worthy of receiving the same attention you put into these promotions of a hero Shinsou hadn’t even heard about?
Yes, they were a nobody. But you’d rather use your precious time and skill to promote them than Shinsou.
It was irrational, but every one of the files he picked up felt like a stab in the heart to him. It was Shinsou you were working for! He should have been the one at the receiving end of all your attention! All this time together, had it meant nothing to you? Did he mean nothing to you? Because to him, you were everything.
“I-I’m sorry!” you burst out, heaving a deep sigh. But how much could he believe your words after all this?
“I really shouldn’t have done it in the office, but here’s where all my materials and files are… It won’t happen again!” You bowed deeply to your superior, but all Shinsou could worry about was if you truly understood the graveness of the problem here.
You shouldn’t have done it at all.
You should have only worked for him, just like you always did.
The awkwardness as Shinsou didn’t reply at all hung heavy over your heads, and you did the only thing you could come up with after admitting your mistake. “Since I promise I won’t work on those anymore, let’s go home! We can talk more tomorrow, but it’s really getting late, and I know you have to come in early again…” If it had been any other colleague of his, they wouldn’t have talked to him this way. But you… you were just special, and perhaps, you knew it. You knew he couldn’t just fire and let go of you, no matter what you did or how you behaved. Was that why you thought it was okay to search for someone else to give you what you needed? Didn’t Shinsou do enough for you anymore?
Picking up some of the files to take home with you, you grabbed your coat and bag before passing by him, urging him to come to an end as well. You had a lot of freedoms with him, especially considering how he felt about you. But now, as you walked on by, he felt like you were cracking the beautiful image of you that he had in his mind. No matter how exhausting and stressful his day was, he knew coming back to you, have you laugh with him, and cheer him up would mend everything. Had you been playing with him until now? Played with his feelings so you could do whatever you wanted? Was he not enough, so you had to give your attention to other heroes now?
What should he do, now that he was on the brink of falling into this bottomless abyss you left him in?
Shinsou never wanted this to happen. Not like this, at least. God, even if he never told you, he loved you! It was his fault for not knowing better, but even if you didn’t know about his feelings either, you couldn’t just leave. No, he couldn’t let you leave like that.
“Don’t go,” he mustered to say, eerily calm even though the mixture of feelings inside of him burned brighter than flames.
“I’m sorry--?” you replied, feeling your whole body coming to an immediate halt before you even reached the door. The files plummeted to the floor, and no muscle would listen as you told them to act. You were frozen in place as if you looked into Medusa’s eyes. It was pure desperation. Shinsou would have never used his quirk on you, but this was an exception. No matter what he did, he couldn’t help himself, desperate as he was. All he wanted was to be the center of your attention, just like you were his. Days were long and dragged out, but not one passed where he wasn’t thinking about you. So maybe, if he couldn’t get what he needed from you by being good, he had to be bad instead.
“I would have given you everything,” he muttered as he turned around, slowly stepping up to you from behind. The, “But I was too scared to tell you how I felt,” stayed hidden in his throat as he approached, reaching out to you. If you could have spoken, you’d probably have screamed and cursed at him for using his quirk, and if he had let you move, you might have kicked and run. You were a feisty one; always had been. And he liked that about you too. Liked that he didn’t need to worry so much about you because you knew how to defend yourself and were strong on the inside as well as the outside. But Shinsou worried now. He worried about you, and even more so, he worried about the future you two had together.
Bringing his hand up and reaching around you, he placed it around your throat to pull you back against his chest, his other hand turning your face to the side so he could easily lean in for a kiss. Others had dreamy dates before their first kiss, and he felt sorry that he couldn’t give that to you. He felt sorry that he never told you about his feelings for you, but you just had to understand. You had to see it for yourself.
You had to realize that it was best to stay on his side. His good side, preferably.
It was a shame that he had to use his quirk on you, all your movements specified by him, even your lips moving to the rhythm of the kiss. Natural was always better, but he’d accept this for now. His hands began to roam, crossing the buttons on your blouse and returning to loosen them up. Shinsou faintly remembered dreaming about this in particularly lonely nights, the feeling of your chest heaving beneath his touch, your lips on his. This was so much better than that dream, though; much better than any expectations he had even.
The gentle shudders as he pinched your nipple, your bra pushed aside for easy access. “Fucking tease,” he mumbled, tearing himself away from the kiss to wander down to your shoulder, your blouse slowly but surely slipping off your body. “You always wore these tight shirts to show off those great tits of yours, didn’t you?”
Shinsou didn’t allow you to respond, completely satisfied by the moan you bit back. The feeling of you, the sounds you made - even if it wasn’t because you wanted him to do all of this, it felt so much better than anything Shinsou could have ever imagined. You deserved better in every way. You deserved more pay and praise for your work, and you deserved a better man to touch and ravage you. But his hand slipping beneath your skirt and into your stockings and panties, Shinsou made himself believe that he had to do for now. He loved you enough that he couldn’t ignore the shivers and gasps coming from you as he slit his fingers between your labia, happy to find the building wetness welcoming him.
“Look at me,” he moaned against your lips. “Only me.”
Oh, it was excruciating. Shinsou loved you; he loved you so much! He wanted to make you the happiest he ever could, even if he had long lost any rights to it. Everything about you should be satisfied, mind and body alike, and he so, so wished it was because of him. If only he could have been your hero rather than anyone else’s. Even he didn’t know why he ever held back on telling you his feelings and desires for you! But now you were here, and you were with him, his cock building up a noticeable bulge in his pants just from touching you.
He’d give you all that you deserved right then and there.
Oh, yes, he would. “Tell me what you want,” he whispered into your ear, rubbing against you from behind. You had the permission to speak, and yet, you hesitated or maybe didn’t realize it. When he drove his fingers into your depths, you jumped in surprise and stimulation, the words that his quirk had held back just falling from your mouth in masses.
“No--! No, stop! Please just stop it!” you piped up in a panic as if you had only now realized what he was doing with you. But this was just the start of something magical that you had yet to understand. Something only Shinsou could make you experience. “Shh, it’s alright,” Shinsou cooed gently, feeling the goosebumps erect on your skin as his voice echoed through your head, and his fingers explored deeper.
Next in line for caresses were your earlobes, his lips kissing and parting around them, small nibbles to accompany the touches inside you. Shinsou was nothing if not careful. You should have known better than to test him, but you kept nagging, enough to make him reconsider allowing you to speak. “Shinsou…” you mumbled, your voice one step away from being a sob. His name from your lips felt heavenly, but it was a disappointment to find out the reason you were calling out to him.
“Please let me go! I won’t tell anyone. We can just part ways and forget about all of this, alright?”
Disappointment and frustration spread through him like wildfire as he sighed inwardly, resting his forehead on your shoulder for a moment, thinking. “You still don’t get it,” he eventually muttered, pulling his hand from your panties and bringing it up to your lips. You may have wanted to shut your mouth tightly as his wet fingers approached it, but with them pressing up against it and with nowhere to go, you had to open up for them. Pressing them down onto your tongue, he played the muscle like a guitar, pulling and releasing it. Surely it gave you a good taste of yourself, but even more so, when he took a step back, you had no other chance but to follow, eyes widening as you were dragged back further into the room.
With one skilled strike of his arm, all of the files and papers piled up on your desk, your laptop and phone, as well as pens and personal items, met their fate of plummeting to the ground. It was a good thing that you were the last two in the agency for that day; the crashing surely wouldn’t go unnoticed if it hadn’t been just you two. “You’re staying,” he ordered, not letting any room for interpretation. “Come on, [Name].”
Patting the desk, your body, led by his quirk, knew exactly what to do, even if your insides were raging. Shinsou had tried to be nice about it, hadn’t he? But apparently, you needed more satisfying, more convincing reasons for staying if leaving was all you could think about while he was still nice to you. At least your body knew how to behave, sitting down at the edge. Shinsou could see in your eyes how much it frightened you to not be in control, but what did you have to worry about? He was in control now, so you were in good hands.
Loosening his tie, Shinsou pulled it off, brushing back his hair with a sigh. In the end, it was him who had to take matters into his hand. He had always relied on you, but that wasn’t enough anymore. It was okay, though. Even if you shivered with your whole body, he was satisfied with watching you unzip your skirt and pulling it down, stockings and panties following. It seemed like a struggle to get them off your feet with your shoes still on, but ever the gentlemen, Shinsou bent down to pull everything off one foot, kissing your shin before standing up again, your ankle in his grip.
Steading your foot on the table, Shinsou didn’t waste time with long preludes. It was his time to taste you now. Tender affection was good, but by now, he wondered if you really deserved that from him. Maybe if you had thought about his feelings in this matter, back when he allowed you to reason still, he wouldn’t have to push it onto you, but this way, he had no other chance but to take what he wanted. Roughly if needed.
Pressing his mouth between your legs, Shinsou grunted at the first taste of you, much sweeter than he had expected. Lodged against your entrance is where he could have stayed for hours, but he was quick to direct his attention to your clit, licking at it as if there was no second chance for him to ever love you like this. His tongue was a well-skilled muscle, just like any other on his body, and only got replaced by his thumb when he decided to move on. Had you ever thought about him going down on you? Did you want him to come into your office like this and take you right there, on your precious work desk? Shinsou had dreamt about it before, but had you? Had you ever craved his attention this much as well? If yes, was that the reason your mouth couldn’t hold back on its moans and gasps, your body flinching ever so often when a jolt of pleasure ran through you?
Even with him controlling everything, your reactions were so naughty, downright teasing to the man who loved you so much. He had decided now. Decided to make you his. Shinsou would never let you leave, even if you feared rather than respected him in the future. These other heroes wouldn’t make you happy either, and he just knew they were taking advantage of your great work.
“I’m the one that you want,” he mumbled, his breath tickling over your sensitive skin. “Can’t you see how much I appreciate you? Why would you ever work for someone else?”
Your response was covered by moans while you tried not to give in to the ecstasy that Shinsou spread through you. Even if you never agreed on this, both of your bodies were on fire. “No one can give you what you need better than I do.” Finally, Shinsou had set his mind on what to do. Wasn’t it better to stay with the person who loved you and took advantage of you rather than some ‘friend’ doing it? Even if you couldn’t accept him, by the end of it, you’d have to accept the fate that would bind you to him. Because Shinsou was the only one who could give you all you needed.
With his tongue out, Shinsou licked you up all the way back to your mouth, catching you in a gasp before plunging his fingers back in your cunt, this time curling and working you up into a frenzy. It had all been his imagination before, but having you cum, squeals pushing against his lips, made him realize how perfect you two were for each other. He didn’t think you were such an easy girl, cumming just from being eaten out and fingered, but here you were, bending your back and sighing into the kiss as if you just had a glimpse of heaven. It was unbearable to hold back any longer, his cock feeling like it would burst out of his pants any second now.
While you still rode the waves of pleasure, Shinsou grabbed your arm to turn you around, having your ass perk up over the table edge, perfectly positioned for him. Using his own legs to push yours out of the way, Shinsou finally freed his member from the holdback of clothes on him, giving it a few strokes for good measure. Gripping hard into the supple flesh of your butt, he pushed the cheeks out of the way, rubbing up against your slit and coating his cock in your juices. The slippery wet and the cold air on his heated body only excited him more, his tip finding the perfect spot to enter you as if you two were made for each other.
Reaching for your hair, he let the strands tangle around his fingers, pulling you back. Your body was quick to react, curving you perfectly, so he had easy access to your entrance. First, the tip pushed in, but inch for inch, the rest of his cock followed, your walls clenching and relaxing around him as he was welcomed inside of you. Hot, pulsing eagerness mixed with your wet insides created a harmonic synergy that Shinsou felt himself fall more in love with by the second.
Shinsou had enough resolve to control his lust, even though now that he was inside you, he wanted nothing more than to pound you till orgasm. But this was for you, too. And so he tempered himself, the first few pull-outs being as slow and gentle as possible with his heart running amok in his chest. Eventually, he latched onto the back of your neck, pressing down to gain even more access to your inside. You struggled with his fingers clenching around the sides of your neck, but whenever it got unbearable, he loosened up, but never enough that you could have escaped his hold, your mouth gasping for air before falling victim to yet another moan.
“Fuck, you’re so tight,” he noted as it became harder and harder to control himself. Shinsou felt like an animal, and you were his prey. Maybe if he’d bite you, he’d be able to control himself better and calm the ecstatic feelings inside of him. So he did, without you even realizing it until his teeth sunk into your shoulder, and his own jaw hurt, not being made to gobble up another human. But the truth was that it did help. The pain helped him to free his obsessive mind. So much so that for a moment, he regained conscience, realizing the wrongness of his doings. With his eyes wide open, he let go of your shoulder, his teeth marks embedded in your flesh. Yet, Shinsou couldn’t help but think how perfect you looked with his mark, considering giving you more as his hips continued to pound into you.
“Never leave!” he whined as he looked down at your perfect form beneath him. He felt every shudder and ever flinch in your pussy, your walls clenching and relaxing around him every time he went in and out of you. “Swear to me you won’t leave me!”
Shinsou needed to hear it from you. He needed that confirmation just like the air he was breathing. You were gasping and moaning, shivering as you felt your second orgasm build up inside of you. Right now, you simply had to think about him and him only, right? That’s why he needed you to say it! Say you wouldn’t leave for some other hero! Say you’d never look at someone else the way you were looking at Shinsou!
If only once you could tell him that you liked him as much as he did, that would have been enough for him.
There was no time for either of you to complete this conversation as Shinsou slammed into you from behind once more, deeply lodging himself inside you as hot, white semen erupted from his cock. You squealed as you felt him fill you up while he did a couple more pushes into you, instinctively knowing how to make his sperm go as deep as possible. Slumping on top of you, Shinsou buried you beneath him, your mind going blank when you reached your own limit, unable to perceive the tender kisses on your shoulder as he comforted you through your own raging orgasm. Shinsou felt on cloud seven, and he hoped you did too, though he suspected your mind to be fried by now from his quirk and two releases of pleasure.
With his quirk vanishing upon releasing the pressure that had built up inside of him, all Shinsou could think of was you, you, and more you. This was all he ever wanted, but he wished that you’d feel the same way. Rolling you back over, Shinsou cupped your cheeks in his hands, whispering, “You can’t work for anyone else, got it? Look who satisfies you. Look who made you into what you are. Do you think anyone else could make you feel like this other than me?”
Brushing his lips over yours, Shinsou was sure you weren’t in your right senses anymore, but when you stammered, “N-No…” he couldn’t help but smile, his heart warming at it. So you did understand. You did know it, after all. He gave you what you deserved. He was the only real hero for you, someone who satisfied and took control. And Shinsou earned your recognition for it. He deserved to be loved by you for it, just like he loved you.
Leaning down to your shoulder, he kissed the top of the mark left there, sighing deeply. There wasn’t a way to describe how relieved he felt that his efforts had come to fruition. As long as you realized to which side you should stick, he was more than happy; even if you two had crossed a line, you couldn’t go back over anymore. “You’re mine now, I marked you,” Shinsou mused, rubbing his lips over the teeth marks in your shoulder.
Finally, Shinsou got up, pulling out of you, white semen dripping from your pussy the moment he unclogged you. Unable to keep you on your shaking legs, you slumped to the floor, hanging on barely by your arms, leaning on the tabletop still. The room was in total chaos, but once Shinsou pulled himself together and put his cock away, his only thoughts were about you. You seemed adorable yet miserable sitting in the pool of cum and your juices. If he left you like this, he didn’t want anyone to find you the following day in case you couldn’t get up and leave on your own. Besides, Shinsou was in charge of you again since you stayed with him, wasn’t he? He had to look out for you.
“Come on,” he mumbled, helping you up and back into your clothes. Closing your blouse as the buttons came to him and zipping up your skirt after pulling your panties back on, ripping the stockings off at your foot. Surprisingly, it didn’t bother him at all, caring for you. Yes, you had always been so strong and independent, it was pretty cute that you had to rely on him now. Once done, he came up, kissing you on the cheek before gathering your coats. Shaking yours out, an idea crossed his mind.
From now on, Shinsou would always be there for you.
Seeing the trashed office, he made a decision to relocate you. “You should move into the office next to mine,” he revealed, proud of this idea. It would be so much easier to be around you if you were closer to him, and he’d be able to look out for you more. Shinsou couldn’t endure the idea that you’d go back to working for your ‘friend’ after all you two had been through. But he also couldn’t trust you anymore not to do it. With him closer, it would be easier for you to only have eyes for him as well, right?
Helping you into your coat, he took your hand as he led you out of the room, turning off the light and closing the door. It was quiet between you until you stepped into the elevator, Shinsou pressing the button for the garage. When the doors closed, your lifeless stare turned into tears, your mind overcome with all that just happened.
However, Shinsou was quicker.
Pushing you into the corner of the elevator, he closed off your lips with his, you two sharing another passionate kiss while the tears dripped off your cheeks. “You don’t have to worry about a thing,” he finally muttered as he released you. Sobs erupted from your mouth, but Shinsou merely wiped away the tears from the corners of your eyes tenderly. “You’ll see, if you stick with me, everything will be alright. You and I - we’ll be unstoppable!”
Perhaps, this wouldn’t make you happy, but Shinsou sure felt good as he finally conveyed his feelings to you. He should have said it way earlier, but now the time was as good as any. “I like you, [Name],” he confessed. “Just rely on me from now on, please only give your attention to me and no one else, okay? No other hero needs you as much as I do! Promise, and then, I’ll forgive you.”
To his surprise, you didn’t need more convincing as you uttered a quiet, exhausted, “Okay,” in between your sobs. They stopped after just a few more tears dripping from your cheeks, almost as if he had used his quirk on you again. But no, this was reality, a promise made between you two without any influences. Shinsou kissed you again, tenderly this time, and it tasted like salt because of your tears, but it still was the most genuine affection he could gain from you. Maybe something inside of you clicked since you now knew it was useless going against him. Now that he had used his quirk on you, he wouldn’t hold back on doing it again if needed. So even if it was all just pretending that everything was fine and this terrible night never happened, the less you resisted, the easier it would be for you two, and the more Shinsou could pretend that it was love keeping you by his side.
And love was all that he wanted, even if he had to control it with all his might.

Hi, I love your blog so much! I recently got ankle lateral ligament reconstruction done, and as an athlete, it sucks so bad. I watched my basketball team play yesterday, and it felt really horrible to watch them lose by one point in overtime when I know I would have made a difference if I were on the court... I know you have lots of asks and prompts, but if you have the time and want to, could you possibly hurt me more than I’m already hurting with some angsty ankle injury stuff😩 like maybe Cap watching the Lions lose without him.
Thank you for all the awesome fics you write! Your blog is amazing!
Anon, this ask really struck a chord with me and I wanted to do it justice as best I could--going through a sports injury like that is the worst feeling in the world, and watching your teammates play without you just adds salt to the wound. Sending all the love and healing vibes your way, okay? Please keep me updated on how you're feeling if you feel comfortable <3
Combined with an ask for pre-Coops and Sirius' photo of Remus! SW credit goes to @lumosinlove
TW for canonical injury and mentioned scars (Remus)
Sirius felt a nudge at his arm and his irritation flared, but he did not take his eyes off the game. “Fucking hell,” he muttered as James missed yet another blatant pass. There’s three.
The next nudge was more insistent.
“What?” he snapped, sparing half a glance to his left and feeling his stomach swoop.
Remus raised his eyebrows and held the mouthguard out further. “Either put this in or unclench your jaw.”
You’re not my mother, Sirius almost snarked back, just to be even more of an asshole. He was cold from being at the rink without his gear, severely pissed off by the general bullshit happening on the ice, and the itch in the boot locked around his stupid fucked-up ankle was slowly driving him mad.
Remus offered the mouthguard again, and Sirius’ temper cooled by a few degrees at the soft encouragement on his face. Pretty, his brain supplied. He swallowed hard around his sudden dry mouth and shoved the plastic between his teeth, beating back the unruly emotions with a mental baseball bat. Nope. Not tonight. Focus on being angry.
Logan got distracted, and Finn paid the price as an enforcer slammed him against the boards; he bounced back immediately, but Sirius ground the mouthguard so hard it squeaked. “Tabarnak—”
“Come with me for a sec,” Remus said, raising his voice just enough to be heard over the angry shouts of Lions fans.
Sirius shook his head. What he wouldn’t give to be in the heart of the fight, letting off some of the steam that had been building with no outlet for weeks. “Game’s not over.”
Remus pressed his lips together, but said nothing; Sirius’ throat constricted as he looked at the scoreboard. There may have been three full minutes left on the clock, but the Lions had already lost—unless they pulled a miracle out of their asses, this game would be a stain on their record. Or if they just let me play.
Sirius sighed through his nose. The urge had been growing stronger the longer he stayed cooped up and restless, banging at the walls of his brain and bringing headache after headache.
“Cap.” The hand on the back of his bicep was surprisingly gentle and he closed his eyes as Remus gave him a light tug. “Come on. We can at least be productive instead of sitting here and stewing.”
He smells nice. How does he always smell so nice? Sirius stood and followed Remus down the tunnel, not even bothering to force smiles for the people pounding on the glass partitions. Don’t focus on the game.
Focus on his shoulders, something close to his heart suggested. You like his shoulders.
He scrunched his nose up at the thought—if he dwelled on the smooth, strong curve of Remus’ upper back for any longer, he would start remembering the one time he saw them bare, covered in sweat with scars that shone like moonlight and—
“Are you okay?” Remus asked, snapping him back to reality. Sirius jumped and concern flickered over the golden planes of his face. “You’re twitchy tonight.”
“Just…” He made a vague, aborted motion toward the ice before continuing toward the PT room, though he did not miss the worried look Remus shot him. Fantastic, now I look like a dick and an idiot.
“What’s going on, Sirius?” The door clicked closed behind them and Remus leaned against it with his arms crossed loosely as Sirius limped over to the table and sat down, pulling the mouthguard out. He stared at the floor and the hunk of plastic—don’t think about how nice his voice sounds around your name. Don’t.
He shook his head; through the door, the sounds of the game were faint. “They’re better than this.”
“Yep.”
“They’re all going to be angry tomorrow, which makes them sloppy.”
“Probably.”
“Coach will be upset.”
“No question.”
“It’s the Badgers.”
Remus made a face. “I know, right?”
“They’re a good team, but—” He tightened his jaw again and looked away.
“But we’re better,” Remus finished for him.
“Yeah.” Silence fell between them for a few moments, though it wasn’t uncomfortable. Being quiet around Remus was never uncomfortable, and Sirius was pathetically grateful for every scrap of it he could get. “I—the game would be different if I was out there.”
“Would it?”
“It would.” He had been going over every mistake for two and a half hours, placing himself in like a chess piece to stop the missed passes, fumbled pucks, and thoughtless plays. “They need me with them.”
The paper crinkled as Remus sat down next to him, and every one of Sirius’ senses went on high alert. “They need to you get better,” he said simply, those caramel-apple eyes making Sirius’ knees go weak. “Have you been doing your exercises?”
“Of course,” he scoffed.
“Good.” There was no defensiveness or indignation in Remus’ voice—guilt snapped, a firecracker behind his teeth.
“Sorry.”
Remus smiled wryly. “When you’re around injured hockey players all day long, you get used to a little bit of bitchiness.”
“I’m not bitchy!” Sirius spluttered. The poorly-concealed amusement on Remus’ face made mortification heat his cheeks. “I’m not!”
“Uh-huh.” The note of smug disbelief should not have been as attractive as it was. “Alright, lay down.”
Sirius swore he heard a few crackling noises as his brain short-circuited. “Quoi?”
“I’m not kneeling on freezing linoleum to check out your ankle, Cinderella,” Remus snorted. “Now get a wiggle on.”
“You have the strangest sayings,” he said as he laid back and stretched his leg out, bewildered and yet somehow relieved.
“And you—” Remus pulled the top buckle free. “—have no appreciation for the great American north.”
“I can take it off,” Sirius mumbled, feeling redness rise once again.
He cocked an eyebrow. “The boot? I might not be a muscle-bound athlete, but I’m pretty sure I can manage a couple strips of Velcro.”
“No, it’s—doesn’t touching people’s feet freak you out? Like, the sweat and everything?”
“If it did, I’d have to find another profession, because I’m damp all the time from you fuckers and you all seem to have a habit of breaking things below the knee. Bend.”
Sirius complied, drawing his knee toward his chest. His bare foot looked weird in the bright lights, pale and still swollen, but Remus was as golden as ever. You can watch from afar, he conceded when the cute little furrow appeared on Remus’ forehead while he felt around the bone. Just for a little while. “Your hands are warm,” he said before he could stop himself.
Remus glanced up, and his small smile caused a flood of butterflies in Sirius’ stomach. “Thanks. They’re usually pretty cold, so I’m glad I’m not accidentally giving you foot hypothermia.”
“Is that real?”
“No,” Remus laughed. Sirius wished he could keep that sound forever. “How’s that feel?”
“Uh, fine.” He blinked a couple times to come back to himself as Remus put light pressure on the sole of his foot. “Still fine.”
“You’re a lot more flexible than before. Things are healing well.”
A loud buzzer went off outside—Sirius closed his eyes as disappointment and frustration fired up once more. The crowd wasn’t cheering. The windows weren’t shaking. He didn’t even want to look at the TV to check the score. I should be out there, he thought for the umpteenth time. I’m letting them down.
“I’m sorry,” Remus said quietly as he worked through a few more exercises.
“Not your fault.”
“It’s not yours, either.”
Sirius wanted to believe him. “I’m the captain.”
“And you’re being responsible by doing this with me so you can heal faster.” People rushed past the door outside, but the PT room remained peaceful. Sirius stared at the plain ceiling and wished for a miracle. “They miss you.”
“Y’know, that’s not exactly making me feel better.”
“Sorry.” They lapsed back into silence. “Do you want to talk about it?”
“No.”
“Cool.”
Sirius chewed the inside of his lip for a solid two minutes, following Remus’ simple instructions without looking at him. He should have been out there with them, ankle be damned. It was basically healed anyway; they were just tying up loose ends, and maybe Remus needed to be a little less careful. “Is this really necessary?”
“I’m gonna give you five seconds to ask a different question.”
“I’m just saying, it feels fine and—”
“Time’s up.” Remus let go of his foot and Sirius only spared a moment to mourn the loss of his comforting touch before he caught the stormy, mulish stubbornness that took the place of Remus’ concentration. “Sit.”
“I am.”
He narrowed his eyes, and Sirius dragged himself upright with a huff. Arguing with Remus Lupin was about as useful as arguing with a brick wall, and that was coming from someone who won the ‘Most Stubborn’ superlative at their last end-of-year party. “First of all, ankles are annoying and the soft tissue will still be damaged even if the bone is healed. Second, it’s my job to fix you up so your boys stop whining to me about healing you faster. And third, I’m not giving up on you.”
Sirius paused for a long moment. “What?”
“I’m not giving up,” Remus repeated. His jaw set and he made direct eye contact. “I would love nothing more than to kick Snape in the kneecaps and let you go out there as soon as you can stand on your own, but that’s not what I’m here for. I’m here to make sure you’re ready to kick ass and take names no matter what that little shit was trying to do. So don’t you dare sit there and try to chicken out at the finish line, because I know you want this even more than I do.”
In his chest, Sirius heart was hammering like he had just run five miles. I’m not giving up on you. Sirius had never wanted to kiss him more. “Thank you.”
Remus softened with a slow breath. “We’re in this together, Sirius. You and me.”
“I know.”
“Then let’s get to work. Next time you play the Badgers, make ‘em regret this game.”
--------------------------------
Sirius walked back toward the locker room feeling rather nauseous. The whole team leaked their bad moods into the air—Arthur had barely looked at them before sending them home with a quiet “we’ll talk more tomorrow”, the equivalent of an arrow through Sirius’ heart. I need a pick-me-up, he thought as the rest of the guys trooped out in a melancholy raincloud. He fist-bumped each of them, per tradition, but their responses were weak at best.
Ice cream sounded good. Maybe a milkshake. Oh, who was he kidding, he needed a solid hug and something other than ice to look at. Not for the first time, he contemplated getting a dog, just so the house wouldn’t be empty and dark when he returned.
Laughter rang out ahead and Sirius inhaled sharply, letting the sound roll over him. “I’m not kidding!” Moody chuckled.
“Bullshit,” Remus countered, still snickering. “There is no way—”
“I’ve been around here longer than you’ve been alive, kid.”
“Yes, yes, I know,” Remus groaned, though Sirius could hear the smile in his voice even from around the corner. “You only bring it up every goddamn day.”
“Brat.”
Sirius entered the room just in time to see Remus playfully knock the side of his foot against Moody’s; both were grinning. “Isn’t it past your bedtime, old man?”
Moody nodded to him. “Night, twelve.”
“A demain,” Sirius called, offering a slight smile as his eyes lingered on Remus. He was leaning back against the wall with stick tape in his hands—his hands, which never failed to make Sirius throw caution to the wind—and raised it in farewell. “See you, Loops. Thanks again.”
“No problem, Cap.”
He grabbed his duffel off the floor and slid his keys, wallet, and phone into his pockets as Moody and Remus resumed their conversation. He wondered how long they usually stuck around, and if they would oppose him staying—he wouldn’t interrupt, but being around people who weren’t going through the five stages of grief already felt nice.
An idea struck as Remus’ laugh raised goosebumps on his arms once again. With a careful glance over his shoulder, he slipped his phone out and snapped a picture before hurrying off toward his car. His breaths were shallow; that was such a creepy move, and surely one of them noticed—
No voices chased him. Nobody gave him strange looks. He waited until he was safely in the front seat of the car before unlocking his phone, and all the air in his lungs left in a rush.
The photo was perfect. It caught the lopsided tilt to Remus’ mouth, his slender-but-strong fingers, his long legs, the scrunch of his nose mid-laugh. Everything Sirius never let himself look at for long. He didn’t have much space left among the collection of paper memories on his dresser, but maybe if he put it in the back where nobody would see it unless they knew where to look…
He turned the car on. Later. He would print it out and deal with the taut rubber-band-ball of feelings later. Until then, he could settle for the imprint of Remus’ warmth taking away the pain in his ankle and the determination on his face as he promised to bring Sirius back from the personal hell he was living in. You and me, he had said, and Sirius wanted nothing more than to believe it.

HEARTSLABYUL | SAVANACLAW | OCTAVINELLE | SCARABIA | POMEFIORE | IGNIHYDE | DIASOMNIA
— finding out their S/O’s lockscreen/background is them
Part two | Part three | Part four
This part will contain Heartslabyul and Savanaclaw
: gender-neutral reader!
Riddle Rosehearts
This boy stares
And stares
And stares until it finally sunk in and he blushes a shade redder and darker than his own hair
He didn’t meant to peak at your phone, honestly. It just suddenly lit up—along popping with a message—when you’re not around and he just so happen to caught a glance of it
He look around to make sure no one was near and hesitantly took your phone in his hand, he swiped away the message notification to have a better, full look on your lockscreen
It was a rare picture of him happily enjoying the tart Trey made, he knew someone was watching him but he payed no mind back then
So it was you, sneakily took this picture of him with stuffed cheeks and a content smile. There were even crumbs at the corner of his mouth and he cringed; he must’ve felt very happy back then to not notice the tart crumbs
Nonetheless, his face softens. The thought of you taking this picture—even though aware of what he’s capable of if he ever caught you—and setting it on your lockscreen kinda warms his heart
“Riddle?”
He let out a startled sound and jerked upwards, turning around to see you curiously looking over his shoulder to have a look on what occupies his mind so much
In a panic he tried to hide your phone away but failed, sighing defeatedly as he blushes even more at your cute chuckle, you gently take back your phone and unlocks it, much to Riddle’s curiosity, he stepped closer to have a look and gets warmer at your screen background
It was him, again. This time sleeping
He places a hand on his forehead and tries very hard to hide his face
Trey Clover
A smile would adorn his face as he looks at your lockscreen, you were lending your phone for him to research some recipes since his was left back at his dorm room, and you shamelessly showed off to him how you place both your lockscreen and background with his picture
Prepare for some teasings, he’d instantly pull you close and poke your cheeks all while asking how did you get these pictures
Not much of a reaction from outside but his heart is literally hammering against his chest and he feels so happy
When Ace, Deuce, Grim and Cater suddenly popped up behind the two of you and have a look at your phone, though, that’s when he blushes real mad
“Wow! That’s so cute! *snaps picture* #thirdwheeling” etc etc from Cater as Ace spouts all kind of teasing shits, though Deuce tries to get him to knock it off he secretly thinks you two are the cutest and gets a little red
Trey would instantly heave a sigh and rests his forehead on your shoulder to try and hide his face
Cater Diamond
This boy isn’t surprised at all and there isn't much to say because he has your picture as his lockscreen and background too!
He actually clung to you and whines about how much he wants to see your phone’s lockscreen/background and you soon gave in. A cute grin spread across his features as he was indeed correct, you do have him as your lockscreen and background
This made him immensely happy and cradle you into his arms and shower you with sweet kisses, oh, not before getting a picture together and post it on MagiCam first, though!
Ace Trappola
You have been hiding your phone away from him because you just know he’s going to say dumb stuff and teases the hell out of you
It might seem like a good idea to hide it from him but no, it’s not
He was getting suspicious and pissed at whoever or whatever that made you prioritize your phone over him, so he quickly snatched your phone during one of the times where you were hanging out with him
His frown slowly turned into a grin as he unlocks your phone, his own picture greeting him back
Cue him rolling on the floor as he laughs his heart out, only getting up and gives you a hug when you got all pouty and mumbled curses for him
He’d pull on your cheeks since you're so cute and talks about how you’re head over heels for him and that he felt so happy because your lockscreen/background is him
Thank God Deuce came, because he came with Ace’s phone in hand, screen brightly showing the lockscreen he currently have
“Ace! You left your phone in the dorm room and I think your brother called you just now!”
You quickly took your boyfriend’s phone in your hand, saying a quick ‘thanks’ to the other confused Heartslabyul member
After slapping away Ace’s hands and ignoring his panicked screams, you click on the button on the side of his phone to have another look
Ace’s face would instantly heat up, freezing in place as he watch your lips stretch into a wide grin
You shoved his phone in his face and teases him back for having you as his lockscreen and background
He blushed ten times more than you did
Deuce Spade
Like Riddle, he really didn’t mean to intrude your privacy, but your phone was ringing! And it might be important, and you forgot to bring it with you, so as your lover, he should definitely deliver it to you!
Poor boy was panicking so much as he went to look for you because it was ringing all the time, and he wasn’t sure whether he has the right to answer it or not, it might be personal business
When he finally made up his mind to help you answer it (he still couldn’t find you), it stopped, it stopped ringing and the screen returned to your lockscreen
“Eh?” He immediately froze, startled and stiff. Movements robotic as he brings the phone closer to his face to examine it, a blush slowly creeping up his cheeks and shading deeper and deeper
“Deuce?” Your soft voice knocked him out of his dazed mind as he quickly turned around, hiding your phone behind his back on instinct then only realizing there’s no point in doing that
It’s not like he was snooping around or anything, it’s just that he saw something he probably shouldn’t have, because his heart is beating crazily and cheeks getting hotter and hotter as seconds pass, he wasn’t sure if this was good for him or not
Quickly handing you your phone (and almost dropping it) he stutters out about a phone call, urging you to call them back in case it was important
Your hand reaching out to caress his hot cheeks only made it hotter and his mind foggier, honestly. He assured you he’s fine and shouldn’t worry about it
Your worried gaze was still on him but decided to listen to him for now, heading to a corner to call whoever it was back
Deuce fixed his eyes on you and gulped, slowly calming his heart down, he won’t talk about it now, but he sure will ask to have a look at your phone screen again and talk to you about it
Hm, maybe he should change his lockscreen to you too
Leona Kingscholar
An arrogant smirk would instantly plaster onto his face, whatever he was annoyed about earlier instantly gone from his mind, now solely thinking of how whipped his herbivore is for him
Would plop down onto his bed after, your phone still in his hand as he admires the picture the two of you took that day
More like you posing while he naps
The picture came out surprisingly well
Since the two of you know each other’s passwords and allow each other to gain access to your phones when it’s an emergency
And saving this photo of the two of you is definitely an emergency, he needs to have it now
So he typed in the password or placed his finger on the sensor
Going through your photo album solely with the intention of finding that photo, he came across others which you secretly took too
So he sends it all to his own phone
He wouldn’t set his lockscreen or background as your photo, but he’ll definitely look through them everyday, and a smile would appear on his lips without him even noticing
Ruggie Bucchi
“Shishishi”
To be very honest he never thought he’d find a lover
Ruggie wasn’t born with wealth and a silver spoon in mouth, so surviving and getting whatever he can that is edible is his only goal in life
He's so lucky to find a lover like you and whenever he does part time jobs he cannot stop thinking about this
When he finally has time for himself and relaxes, it finally sink in and a blush slowly creep up his cheeks
Will definitely tease you later when he finds you
Jack Howl
He takes a step back in shock and stutters so fucking much and sputters out words that I'm pretty sure nobody would understand
Definitely the "E-E-E-E-E-E-Eh...?" type
HIS BLUSH
He asks you where did you get this picture and gets extremely embarrassed
It was a photo you secretly took while he was stretching, getting ready for his daily jog
Rubs his nape and looks away from you, he tried to remain composed obviously failing and tells you if you like it so much, continue to keep it as your lockscreen/background then
Isn't one to snoop around in other people's phone but once in a while when you're not around, he'd take your phone to have a look whether you still have him as your lockscreen/background or not
And he'd always smile when you still have it

matched | ten (m)
title: matched pairing: alien!ten x black!reader genre: sci-fi, angst, fluff, romance, smut summary: the quest for love leads you to a new dating app with a slight twist—and straight into the inbox of someone who’s light-years out of your usual dating pool. word count: 9.7k warnings: familial conflict, strained parental relationship, mentions of cheating, prejudice/discrimination based on species, body modifications/alien biology, unprotected sex, oral (female receiving), dom!ten, photography during sex, cumshot, squirting, some spanking a/n: as always, i lose all impulse control whenever i get a ten request so i have finished this sooner than i expected
i decided to lean more into the romance plotline than stress too much over the realism of the science-fiction elements with this fic, so there are some inaccuracies/impossibilities...but that’s fiction for you 🙃
AM 2074 (After Migration)
You are lonely.
Your last breakup did not end well, to say the least, and you haven’t dated for a while since then. It seemed like a smart move—a safe one—to shun all romantic relationships until you felt ready again. At the beginning, you were glad to be alone for a while, to regroup and rediscover yourself worrying about another person’s opinions on everything you did. To not have to deal with someone else’s drama.
The toll of not having companionship is gradually getting to you, though. Even if your last relationship was a mess more often than it wasn’t, you still long for those good moments, like going on night dates on the weekends and sharing pillowtalk into long hours of the early morning. You hadn’t realized how much you’d missed those things until all the emotions of it crashed down on you at once.
Your friend Malika claims to have a solution for your loneliness. Now, sitting at this outdoor cafe, you’re simultaneously eager and hesitant to hear what she has to propose, knowing her track record for silly plots.
With twinkling eyes, she looks at you and says, “You should try a dating app.” She clasps her hands together and puts them on the table like she’s made a grand announcement. You absorb her words for a few moments, looking out at the street across from you and watching cars—some hovering above the asphalt, some driven autonomously, and many still with human drivers—pass by.
You eventually sigh, your shoulders slumping. “That’s the big solution you called me out here for? People have been using dating apps for decades, that’s nothing new.”
“Exactly! The fact that they’re still popular even in 2074 is proof that they work, Y/N. You can put yourself out there and talk to dozens of guys without even meeting them in person. If one connection doesn’t work out, you don’t have anything to lose, and you don’t have to see the guy ever again.”
“Maybe I’ll lose my sweet time and patience during the process, though.”
Malika shakes her head and types something into her hologram pad, then holds it up for you to see. The hologram displays a dating app called matched—it reminds you of what Tinder was supposedly like before it became eclipsed by more advanced platforms, though that happened years before you were even born. “This one is kinda new, but it’s gotten popular fast and has good success rates. I’ve tried it before and met some nice guys. Give it at least one chance before you hate on it.”
“Ugh, I don’t know...there are always so many weirdos hanging out on those apps. What if I meet someone who keeps a collection of severed alien tentacles in an icebox in their house? Like that one guy who showed up on the news?”
“...Really?” Malika rolls her eyes. “You’re so dramatic. Stop getting in your own way and just take a risk for once.”
You shake your head at her optimism. “I’ll do it because I know you won’t leave me alone about it, but don’t expect me to find some great love story on this app.”
--
Once you download the app and start making an account, it becomes pretty obvious that this isn’t just a regular dating platform.
Choosing your gender and age preferences is normal enough, and you pass through those screens quickly until you get to one that gives you two new options.
➤ Species Preference ❐ Human ❐ Extraterrestrial
Whoa. Aliens? An alien-friendly dating app?
You weren’t overly familiar with the mechanics of dating apps, and you certainly didn’t consider that ones allowing aliens might’ve existed until now. It had been 15 years since the first contact with aliens was established, and a little less than a decade had passed since aliens began migrating to Earth and taking up permanent residence—and vice versa.
Humans had little problem with accepting aliens’ technological adaptations and claiming them as their own, though they were far less welcoming of the aliens themselves. That resulted in strained interactions between the two species, with aliens trying their best to assimilate and humans questioning their every motive. As far as personal relationships went, interspecies mingling between humans and extraterrestrials was still fairly uncommon—something that only people who were considered to be on the fringes of society participated in. There were “normal citizens of society” who built relationships with aliens, but many of them also kept it solely as a kink or fetish to be done only in the dark.
You decide to check both options. It feels a little scary, like diving headfirst into the unknown, but you are open to it either way. You’ve interacted with aliens before, both as kind acquaintances and near strangers, and they’ve always been relatively normal in the grand scheme of things—beings trying to survive and make a life for themselves like anyone else. Certainly not plotting how to take over Earth as many people have speculated. If they really wanted to, they possess the technology to have done that ten times over already.
You take a while trying to come up with a clever bio and spend an even longer time mulling over which pictures of yourself to choose, but you eventually complete your profile.
The first few matches you make are not very successful.
Whether it’s human guys feeding you terrible pickup lines or alien guys who can’t make it past the language barrier—or who ask you to move back with them to their home planet after two days of talking—you don’t see any potential love interests during your first two weeks of using the app.
You’re not sure what kind of skills Malika used to make multiple good matches, but maybe you need to interrogate her so you can sharpen your own. So you decide to do exactly that.
“Don’t give up on it just yet. Just be yourself—which also means not being afraid to cuss someone out if they come at you crazy. Some of these dudes lowkey like the mean girl shit, though, which is kinda weird.” Malika speaks from the shimmering translucent mirage of your hologram pad as you walk through the park one afternoon. She couldn’t make it out to meet you today, but you managed to snatch a moment to talk to her even if it couldn’t be face-to-face. “You probably shouldn’t expect to find a boyfriend in the first few days—”
“Girl, I don't think anyone was expecting that. Duh.”
“I’m saying, just give it time!”
“Okay, but listen. You didn’t tell me it’s also for aliens. Have you dated one before? You never told me!” You lower your voice then, not wanting anyone nearby to eavesdrop on your conversation and hear that part. You feel kinda bad for even thinking that way, but it’s hard to shake the stigma associated with interacting with aliens.
“Yes, and it was the best sex I ever had, but maybe I’ll tell you about that later.”
“Sis. Don’t withhold tea from me!”
“Someday when you’re not literally standing in the middle of the park, okay?” Malika shakes her head, smiling.
“Don’t forget about it, either.”
“I won’t. And you know what to do if you find a guy. I want to be the first to know!”
“Sure, sure. I wouldn’t hold my breath on it, though.”
You decide to spend some more time on the app after that conversation instead of just deleting it like you’d planned to initially. And one day, you get another new match that catches your eye out of the many others.
“Ten? Like the number…?” Besides the interesting name, you immediately see that he’s an extraterrestrial. From the Sommu race, as it says in his bio.
You click on his profile.
You’re a little surprised by how pretty he is, which isn’t to say the other aliens you matched with were all hideous. But he doesn’t have tentacles coming out of his face or two sets of eyes, either. The most noticeable thing about his alienness is his blue skin.
“Likes...dancing, art, music, okay so we have an artist type here...dislikes...fruit. Huh. That’s...interesting.”
The pictures of him on his profile are all deliberately artistic, as in they aren’t just some half-baked selfies he took with a hologram pad. You grow increasingly curious. It’s safe to say he’s either super into himself or just appreciates the art of good photography, and you figure there’s only one way to find out. You decide to take the first step and message him.
➤ Nice pictures :)
You don’t know when or if you’ll get a message back, since he’s not online when you send it, so you try not to get your hopes up too much. Maybe you should’ve tried to come up with something more cool and funny—nice pictures?—but you try to remember Malika’s advice and roll your eyes to yourself. There’s no point in getting stressed over a dude you don’t even know yet.
You eventually get a reply back from Ten.
➤ thank you 🙏 are you into photography too? you have talent for taking beautiful photos
You giggle quietly to yourself; another line, but it’s definitely one of the tamer ones you’ve received. Why not see where this one goes?
The first conversation you have consists mostly of the regular getting-to-know-you talk, such as your personal interests and favorite things. You get him to talk more about his photography hobby, which he’s eager to tell you all about—as well as his penchant for art.
To your optimism, you and Ten quickly get comfortable with each other. You soon forget about all the other potential matches you have, but those don't matter much to you anymore. So far, you’ve connected the most successfully with Ten, which means you’re more than glad to stop spending your time reading boring messages from guys who’ve only pretended to have things in common with you.
Things go so well, in fact, that he asks you to meet in person not long after you begin talking to each other.
For your first meetup, you decide to meet at a park nearby—the same one you’d been walking through the day you were talking to Malika about that very dating app. You and Ten have talked through the hologram pad on multiple occasions, so you’re more reassured that you’re not starting from scratch with some faceless being. Still, the thrill of seeing each other in person for the first time is undeniable.
“Y/N?” You turn your head at the sound of your name, and you see Ten walking towards you.
“Ten!” You give him a smile, waving at him. You feel a little more nervous than you usually would on a date, though you can’t tell if it’s the good kind of nervousness. You mostly chalk it up to not having been out with anyone in a while.
Ten’s just as pretty up close as he was in the photos and on camera, if not even more attractive; he’s breathtaking in the light of the sun. His hair is styled nicely, meticulously-place strands curling over his forehead, and his clothes perfectly outline his slim body. He looks pleased to see you, his lips curving into a coy smile.
“You could’ve given me a warning,” he says as he outstretches his arms to you. You hug him, but not without a questioning glance on your face. He is warm and smells good, like juniper, which almost makes you forget about your question.
“Warned you about what?”
“How you’re even more beautiful in person.” He says this at your ear before pulling away, and it makes the back of your neck bloom with heat.
“Oh, you’re laying it on thick.” You giggle nervously, shifting on your feet.
“Are you ready to go?” he asks.
“Yes, let’s go!”
You leave the park to go to an aquarium nearby, which is the biggest one in the city. You find out quickly that Ten is easily fascinated by the wide range of creatures there. Despite living on Earth for a few years now, he hasn’t seen a lot of them until now.
You walk through the blue-lit hallways together, surrounded by water everywhere you turn. You observe the different animals up close and from far away, reading information about them from the signs beside their tanks.
“What the hell is that?” Ten says through laughter, looking at the squished-up mouth of a stingray as it floats in front of the glass, baring its pale underside to you both.
“It’s a stingray!”
He scrunches his nose up. “It’s ugly. But kinda cute, too…”
You both end up staying at the aquarium longer than you expected, with Ten wanting to see practically every animal they had on display; plus, you got to see some you weren’t familiar with before either.
After visiting the aquarium, you go downtown—which is otherwise known as food truck central, where you can get pretty much anything you’re craving. This area is always quite busy this time of evening, especially on the weekends. Food in hand, you and Ten end up walking through a few of the quieter back streets where there’s not as many people—streets where the closely-packed buildings give way to the grassy yards and paved roads of nearby neighborhoods.
“Should we talk about our families now, or is it too soon?” you say jokingly. “You know, that seems to be the only thing we haven’t mentioned after talking about everything else under the sun.” You’re not entirely sure why you bring this up while knowing your own relationship with your parents isn’t great, but you are curious to hear about Ten’s family.
“I don’t really know mine,” he replies.
“Oh, I’m sorry.” You feel a little bad about it, thinking there was definitely a reason why he never mentioned the topic.
Ten looks confused for a moment before shaking his head. “No, it’s not like that. Sommu never form close bonds with their parents or siblings.”
You give him a curious look. “Why not?”
“Well, we aren’t born or raised the human way,” he explains. “Our parents have a bunch of us at once, raise us for the first couple of years, and then go off to reproduce again and continue the population.”
You’re startled at that. “Just for a few years? How do you survive?”
“We age faster...both physically and mentally. We become independent around 4 or 5 years old, and we can live without our parents.”
“That’s...definitely very different.” You try to wrap your mind around that information, though it’s difficult. Even with your not-so-healthy relationship with your parents, you couldn’t imagine having no family whatsoever at such a young age. You also can’t even begin to comprehend what it’d look like to be taking care of yourself at only 5 years old, fast aging or not. “But, you said a bunch at once...how is that possible?”
“We are formed inside things like eggs. It’s not like your form of childbirth. See?” And you become flustered when he lifts his shirt up to show his lack of a belly button, right there in the middle of the street.
“Uh, wow.”
“The human concepts of ‘family’ and ‘relationships’ are...very new to me.” He seems a little embarrassed to admit this. “That’s why I, um, joined a dating app, for more experience...I was told I need to learn to be more…” He searches for the word. “Im...pertinent?”
“...Empathetic?”
“Yeah, that.”
“So, did that come from a previous partner, or…?”
“Yeah, I’ve had two relationships since I’ve been here.” He seems wistful now, maybe a little sad. “They didn’t work out well. Maybe we were too different.” Before the mood can shift too far into negativity, Ten turns to you with a soft smile. “But maybe that’s not the kind of thing you want to hear while we’re on a date.”
You shake your head and smile. “I don’t mind, it’s interesting to know about.” More than interesting. You want to ask him a hundred more things about what his life was like when he first got to Earth. “Anyway, you can never have too many new starts in life. Let’s enjoy this one.”
--
At the end of your date, Ten walks with you back to your place. It’s almost midnight at this point, with you both walking all the way back from downtown. You’d drawn more than a few skeptical stares over the course of the day, but you both did your best to ignore those and just focus on each other.
“I’m really glad we got to go out today, it was fun,” you say, hugging your arms to yourself to shield against the cool spring breeze.
“I think I haven’t had that much fun in a while,” he agrees. Ten smiles wide then, the tip of his tongue sticking out from between his teeth, and you have to do a double take.
“What—”
“Oh, that. Sometimes I forget everyone doesn’t have this...” And when he sticks his tongue out, you see clearly now that it’s split halfway down the middle. Sort of like how a snake’s would be. “D’you like it?” His expression is wicked when he asks this, and a strange heat sweeps through your body.
“Wow.” You cringe at your lackluster answer, but that’s the only thing you can muster up at the moment, too busy internally questioning yourself. You’ve seen body modders with split tongues in documentaries and on the internet, but it’s never appealed to you like this before, and you don’t know what to do with that new realization.
“It’s okay, it takes some getting used to.” He gives you a smile that might be called innocent by anyone else, but to your eyes it’s quite obvious he’s proud about making you flustered.
“Getting used to...yeah, I’m sure.” There are about 15 different questions you want to ask him about that, too, but you aren’t going there on the first date.
“So...can I expect to see you again?”
“Of course.” You smile again at the hopeful note in his tone. “Just let me know whenever you want to go out again.”
Before Ten leaves, he places a hand on your shoulder and kisses you on the cheek. It’s a simple and short kiss, but it still makes you blush beneath your brown skin.
You wave goodbye to him from your doorstep as he goes, feeling like you’ve finally done something right for the first time in a long time.
You’d taken a chance with dating an extraterrestrial, someone so different from yourself and your species, and you figured it would be a new experience. Obviously. What you did not bet on, however, was the idea that you’d fall for Ten so fast.
After three months of dating exclusively, you feel like you could say you love him, which is frighteningly quick for you; though you don’t tell him this yet.
You’ve decided to bring him to meet your family. The idea frightens you, because your parents have never been very receptive to the aliens’ migration. But you are still holding out some hope that maybe they’ll realize all their assumptions were wrong, and that you’ve found a nice man who you love and who you’re sure loves you just as much. Whether he’s human or not shouldn’t matter.
You manage to set a date when all your schedules match up so you can bring Ten over to your parent’s house. Ten is nervous—more nervous than he was when you went on your first date—which you find a little surprising. You’ve gotten used to him being the one who you can lean on, who always seems to know the right answer.
“Do you think it will go well?” he asks, his tone implying he’s not confident of the answer.
“I hope so.” You give him a smile that you hope is reassuring and squeeze his hand.
When your parents open the door, there’s visible surprise on their faces. You’d already told them your boyfriend was not human, which drew doubtful responses when you first said it, but they’re acting as if they never knew that information—as if this is the first time they’re seeing an alien, period.
“Um…hi, mom, dad.”
“It’s nice to meet you,” Ten says, though his own tone is overly formal, like he doesn’t know how he should speak. “I’m Ten.”
Your parents pause for a few moments longer. Finally, the awkward quiet is broken. “We thought you were just messing,” your dad says, though he steps out of the way to let you both come in, if a bit reluctantly.
“I—no.” You’re uncertain how to respond to that, though you don’t feel optimistic about what it entails. Your mother doesn’t say anything at all, just stares at you and Ten like you’re both strangers who’ve just waltzed in uninvited. She goes back in the kitchen to finish dinner once the door is closed, not saying anything to either one of you, and you already feel a cold pit settling in the bottom of your stomach.
Your dad sits in the living room with you and Ten, and another awkward silence ensues as your dad gives a stiff smile that doesn’t reach his eyes. He clasps his fingers together and pulls them apart repeatedly, like they’ll give him the answers for what’s going on.
“This is just a fling, right? Of course you won’t be staying with this ma—” Your dad almost says man but then stutters, thinking maybe the term isn’t appropriate since Ten isn’t human. He makes a vague gesture to fill in the space of the missing word.
“It’s not a fling,” you say, feeling like you’ve had cold water poured down your back. You’re sitting straight and still on the couch, and it’s not comfortable, but you’re too tense to move. Ten is almost equally stiff beside you.
“Y/N, we just want you to make good decisions for yourself.” That’s what your dad says out loud, though the look in his eyes finishes the rest of that sentence: And I don’t think this is a good decision.
“I am,” you insist. “I don’t need to be told that over and over again.”
“Me and Y/N are happy together,” Ten explains, and your dad seems a little shocked that he’s decided to speak.
“Do you truly think you’re what she needs?” your dad asks. You’re not sure what makes you more angry; the question itself, or the fact that he keeps his tone non-accusatory and light, as if he’s only asking something like where do you work? Like the answer doesn’t matter because he’s already made up his mind.
“As long as Y/N wants to keep seeing me, there’s no reason to stop our relationship.”
A sound of displeasure comes from your mother in the kitchen, and your skin prickles. Your dad nods to Ten’s answer, but he does so in a way that conveys he just wants this conversation to be over rather than consider anything that was said.
You deeply regret not leaving straight after that failed discussion, but you soon find out just how bad it can get once you all make it to the dinner table. Your mother is chillingly silent for the first half of the dinner, acting like neither you nor Ten exist, while your dad attempts to make awkward small talk about how things are going.
There comes a point where you can no longer handle the cold sweat and the nerves, and you put your utensils down. Not that you had much of an appetite anyway.
“Why won’t you even talk to me?”
Your mother glares. “You can’t guess? What kind of question is that to ask?”
You falter. You don’t know why she always does this to you. Ask ridiculous rhetorical questions that you both already know the answer to. Now you must sit here and explain why you asked like it isn’t already obvious.
“I’m visiting after I haven’t been here in a while. With my boyfriend. I thought...I don’t know. The least you could do—” Your mother shakes her head at the word “boyfriend,” and you already know everything else you said went in one ear and out the other.
“I still don’t know why you didn’t just stay with Christian?” she interrupts. “He had a decent job, came to see us often, and was NOT an alien.”
“But he cheated on me,” you say, a sickness rising in you.
“That’s what men do sometimes, Y/N. You deal with it and move on. You’re supposed to be strong—fix whatever is making him do it.”
You and Ten exchange a tense look, and there is clear confusion whirling in his eyes, but you don’t say anything to each other. “That relationship is over. I’m trying to do something for myself for once, not whatever you think I should do.” Even saying those words makes you internally recoil, unsure of what the reaction will be, but you don’t take them back.
“You may be an adult but we’re still your parents. Frankly, you need to be with a man of your own race and species—not this blue Martian here. How would you even have kids?”
Ten gives a humorless laugh, like he wants to respond but doesn’t want to make the situation worse or offend you. “You know what, I should just leave,” he says abruptly, rising from his seat.
You get up quickly after he does, but your mom slams her hand on the table. “Y/N, you better not walk out of here.”
You feel defeated and exhausted, like you always do when dealing with your parents and their objections to every single thing you do, but you decide not to give in this time. “Stop treating me like I’m still a child, ma.”
“What does being an adult matter when you still act childish? Don’t come back here crying when this doesn’t work out. I’ve already warned you more than enough.”
“That isn’t going to happen.”
“So now you think you know better than me, when you couldn’t even keep a man the first time around.”
“This is hopeless,” you sigh, feeling wounded and angry at all these cheap shots.
“Y/N, please just listen to your mother for once…” your dad interjects, but you try your best to ignore their protests as you grab your things and follow Ten to the door. You can still hear your mother’s angry complaints as you close the front door behind you, though you’re surprised—but grateful—that neither of them attempt to follow you outside.
The ride back home is uncomfortable and mostly quiet.
“I’m sorry, Ten,” you say, feeling like you’ve been frozen from the inside out despite it being nearly summer. You’re near tears when you speak. Ten shakes his head, keeping his eyes on the road ahead.
“It’s not your fault…” he replies weakly, though his words aren’t very persuasive to either of you.
He still walks you up to your door when you arrive back at your place, trailing slightly behind you. The night air is distractingly humid, wrapping around the both of you like a physical thing. Neither of you know what to say to each other.
When you get to your front door, you turn to look at him. “I shouldn’t have made you come. I should’ve known...”
“I wanted to come,” he points out. “You didn’t make me do anything.” Ten’s tone isn’t outright harsh, but the words are noticeably sharp. Maybe he realizes it, because his face softens as if he’s said something wrong.
You nod. It’s as if there’s a mountainous gap between you two that you just can’t cross right now. “I get it.” You say this almost mindlessly, because you’re not sure what you’re getting, exactly. Your hand rests on the doorknob. You don’t want to end the night on this awkward and painful note, but neither of you are making any progress with this lack of a real conversation. Maybe now isn’t the right time to try to talk about it.
“I think...I’ll just go home tonight.” You expected he’d say that, but the words still make your heart hurt, even if you don’t want them to. He looks like he might say something else, but he just gives you a small nod before starting off.
“Ten…” You don’t know what you want to ask of him or tell him, if anything, but his name slips from your lips like it’s something you can’t keep inside.
Ten stops for a moment and turns back to you. He steps closer again, leaning forward to give you a soft kiss on the lips. When he pulls back, his eyes hold you in place.
He mumbles, “I’m not mad at you,” before leaving.
More than anything, you want to know how Ten is doing, but you’re too ashamed to contact him for the first couple days after that mess of a night. Maybe he thinks you’re just like your parents and doesn’t want anything to do with you anymore. His reassurance at the door wasn’t enough to soothe your worries, and you end up tearing yourself up internally over it—repeatedly recalling the warmth of his lips and wondering if that’s maybe the last time you’ll ever feel it.
Similarly, nothing but radio silence comes from his end. He doesn’t respond even after you finally muster up the nerve to send him a text—a short text, but still a message all the same—and you fear he must really be done with you.
On Ten’s part, he does have one justification for it; he’s preoccupied with dealing with the avalanche of unpleasant memories and emotions that incident resurfaced. Everything about what your parents said and how they looked at him reminds him of his past and ongoing struggles with trying to assimilate on Earth.
Even though he’s often very sure of himself and what he wants, he begins wondering if he’s “enough” for you. Maybe you’ve just been humoring him this whole time, or you’ve decided your parents are right and you’d be better off with another human.
Those thoughts keep him up into the early morning hours, and he soon realizes he doesn’t want to let you go. In fact, he’s not sure what he’d do with himself if you decided to walk out of his life right now, and the idea of it makes him ill. Which makes him feel even more foolish for tuning you out.
Ten’s anxiety over losing you culminates in him standing on your doorstep again after almost a week of emptiness and not knowing how you were thinking or feeling—which has been killing him in its own way.
You’re not quite sure how to feel when you open the door and see him on the other side, but relief shoulders its way to the forefront.
“Y/N, I’m sorry—”
“Can you please—”
You both speak at the same time, your words breaking afterwards.
“You can talk first,” Ten says.
“Come in.” You let him in the door, and the words start spilling before you know how to stop them. “Ten, I-I’m...really sorry. I should’ve known better than to put you in that situation, but I thought…” Your words trail off. You don’t want to let him know just how desperate you still are for your parents’ approval sometimes. Even though it’s a fruitless case. “I just wanted it to go well. I want things to work now, for us. I really, really want things to work for us.”
Ten surprises himself with how quickly he moves to take you in his arms before the last words have even finished settling in his mind. He hugs you tightly. “I thought maybe you wouldn’t want me anymore,” he whispers, like he’s telling you something forbidden.
“That couldn’t happen.” You’re saddened he’d come to that conclusion. “But...it’s not fair for you to leave me in the dark, either. I want to help you...so would you please let me?”
Ten squeezes you a bit tighter, as if you might disappear from his arms. “I’m sorry I ghosted you...it brought back bad memories of how things were when I first got here. When people were more open about treating me like some kind of enemy. I didn’t know how to deal with it.” You tuck your chin into his shoulder and listen to his breathing, his heartbeat, the sound of his words. “Y/N, I’m not sure if I’m very good at love, or if I even know enough about it. Maybe the others were right and I’m kidding myself with something I’ll never properly learn. But, I…” His voice cracks. “I-I think I love you. I don’t want to hurt you.”
Entirely overwhelmed, you answer his admission with a long kiss, cupping his face in your hands. His response to your kiss is automatic, the knots of tension unraveling in your embrace.
“I love you, Ten,” you whisper against his lips after you separate. Here and now, it doesn’t feel too soon at all; there couldn’t be a better time to say it. His expression is a lot of things at once. Relief, happiness, contentment...he’s blushing, but it shows up as a darker blue on his already blue skin. When he smiles, it turns his whole face into a picture of joy.
--
“I want to go away.” Quietly, you tell him this as you rest your head in his lap.
You’re both lying on your couch, the room dim and the sound of rain occupying the silence. A downpour started coming down soon after Ten got to your place. You’ve sat there just like that and listened to the rain on the windows for the past couple hours, not wanting to do anything else or separate from each other. You knew he wouldn’t want to go home, and you didn’t even have to ask him to stay.
Ten’s been petting your hair the whole time. The motion of his fingers in your kinky strands makes you sleepy, but now the movements pause at your words.
“Go where?” he asks.
“Away from all this. My parents hate me, and they won’t let me have any peace as long as I’m with you. I just want to go away for a while.” Despite you overflowing with love after finally getting your feelings out in the open, the thought of your parents’ disapproval has lingered steadily in the recesses of your mind. You close your eyes against the tears that begin to well up. Ten’s quiet for a few more moments, and then begins stroking your head again.
“Are you sure?”
“I’m sure.”
A few tears fall despite you trying to keep them in, and your eyelids flutter when you feel Ten’s fingers on your face, wiping them away. “Then we’ll go away.”
Ten’s homeland is a planet where the sun—or rather, a star called Proxima Centauri that’s much like the sun—is always out, no matter what time of day it is. There are days where it rains or gets cloudy, but night never falls and the star never dips any lower in the sky, always staying pinned in that same spot like a tack on a corkboard. That everlasting light throws your body clock off, and combined with this weird new form of jet lag associated with space travel, you are a mess for the first week or so after your arrival.
Ten makes a few jokes about fragile human bodies, but for the most part he tends to you as best as he knows how and tells you stories about how he grew up to get your mind off the discomfort. He feeds you these neon green drinks that don’t look like anything on Earth you’ve had before, and although they do make you feel better, you begin to think maybe you should’ve had a wellness plan before running off-planet.
You aren’t the only human who’s ever visited or even lived there, though, which gives you reassurance about adjusting to everything. By now, there’s a small population of human beings living here due to the interplanetary exchange initiated by Earth.
Before you left, Ten told you he had a small home in his homeland. You didn’t quite expect to hear this, since he’d been on Earth for a while now and had no family to return to. Though he’d migrated, he still expected to come back to his planet every so often, if only to visit. Now was as good a time as any.
Although many differences exist, the scenery is much like Earth’s; there are ecosystems with plants and animals and other living beings—like the Sommu themselves. Ten’s homeland is not filled with wall-to-wall technology like you’d expect an alien city to be, based on the small examples you’ve seen on Earth. You might compare it to the tropics back on Earth, with the Sommu yielding to nature’s rightful place in their ecosystem instead of clearing out whole forests or continually mining for resources. Ten is amused by your struggle to comprehend the newness and unfamiliarity of it all.
When you feel good enough to explore, he starts taking you to the beach often. It looks mostly like any other beach, but there are large coral forms that grow out of the ocean, reaching up towards the impossibly blue and constantly illuminated sky. Because there is no moon to guide the tides, the water is eerily still, the surface mirror-like—like a huge lake or pond that extends in almost every direction for miles. You’d almost believe it was a mirror if you hadn’t seen a bird-like creature skimming across the surface as it flew by, creating fleeting ripples.
You swim around a little in the still waters after Ten convinces you that you aren’t going to turn into a fish or something equally scary. He has to hold both your hands the entire time to get you to step in, and he doesn’t let go until you’re confident enough to explore the water on your own.
“Just focus on me, okay?” His smile is bright and shining against his blue skin, and he looks you directly in the eyes as he backs into the water, breaking the surreal stillness of it with his movements. “It’s just like the water on Earth.”
“Okay, okay,” you say uncertainly, gripping his hands and stepping in tentatively. The water does feel like any other water you’ve touched throughout your life, which helps you calm down slightly. His hands stay tight around yours as you get waist-deep into the water.
When you’re finally able to let go of him, he claps his hands more enthusiastically than the situation probably calls for. “Yay, you’re a big girl now!”
You roll your eyes at him. “You’re not funny, Ten.”
--
On a bright afternoon, Ten lets you into a room of his house you haven’t entered before. You’ve passed by this shining white door several times, but it’s always remained firmly shut until now.
“What’s in here?” you ask as you hold his hand.
“That’s what I’m going to show you.” He laughs and pushes the door open.
You think it’s a darkroom at first, seeing nothing but dim light and the shiny surfaces of what looks like photographs as your eyes adjust. But when he touches his hand to a panel on the wall and the lights come on, you realize it’s not a darkroom. More like a small gallery for all his pictures.
The “pictures” are physical, but they aren’t like the old Polaroids or film photos that have begun fading out of existence on Earth. They’re small crystalline squares that play eternally-moving videos on their glossy surfaces—a bit different from the translucent holograms Earth adopted. You step further into the room to look at them. It’d probably take days to explore them all, there are so many. Different scenes play out as soundless movies, and when you look for long enough, you realize they’re split into different categories. Numerous events within a life.
Many are of the beach, other scenic places around his homeland, oddly-shaped buildings, and plants in colors that there are no names on Earth for. You step closer to one of the walls to look at the collection of images more closely. You actually do “recognize” a select few, linking them together with old memories Ten had shared with you only weeks ago. There’s so much happening in these small snippets of time, so many stories you haven’t yet heard, that you feel like you could look at them forever and not get enough.
“This is...something else.” Your words seem inadequate, but you don’t quite know how to express your sheer wonder.
“I could take some of you,” Ten suggests, from somewhere behind you. “I want to.”
You glance back at him. “Hm, yeah.”
“I’m serious.” Ten comes up behind you to clasp his arms around your waist. He tucks his chin into your shoulder. His lips are close at your neck, and you let them linger there. One of your hands goes to his own hand that’s over your waist, and you run your fingertips over his knuckles as you gaze at the photo wall before you. “I think you’d be the perfect muse.”
“You could do that.” You’re still entranced with it all, and you already know you’ve made up your mind to let him take as many photos of you as he wants.
--
The next time you go to the beach, Ten takes some photos of you standing near the huge coral forms—or at least as close as you are willing to get—and he laughs at your lingering hesitation.
Still, the crystalline photos he takes of you are the embodiment of perfection. When you look over them later, watching yourself twirl around and strike silly poses in the water, you can almost hear the sound of your laughter twining together and feel the warmth of a star that’s not the sun on your skin.
“What if we stayed here?”
You ask Ten this while you’re lying in his bed, watching a kaleidoscope of shapes on the ceiling. The bedroom window is open to allow the breeze to come in. The ceiling of the bedroom—and every other room in the house—is more like an ever-changing reflection of shapes and colors than an actual ceiling. You might compare it to a mirror, like the surface of the ocean, but you think it’s much more complex than that. Sometimes you can see the distorted outline of yourself in it, like a funhouse mirror. Other times, you see the sky above.
Ten lies beside you with one hand behind his head and the other resting on his stomach, and he turns his head to look at you.
“Stayed?”
“If we just decided not to...go back to Earth.”
He pauses for a few moments. “Is that a good idea? You have a whole life there...and your friends…” Ten doesn’t mention your family, which you are grateful for.
You sigh. Nothing like a quick injection of reality after letting your imagination get ahead of you. “We’d have to go back. I’d have to tell them goodbye. And sort some other things out. Maybe it wouldn’t happen right now. But, after I do everything I need to do on Earth...maybe I could migrate here.”
“That’s a big decision to make...and it should be yours to decide.” Ten pauses again, like he’s weighing his words. “You know I don’t have many connections on Earth…” In other words, leaving Earth and returning home for good might not be as big of a deal for him as it would be for you.
You sit up and look out the window, seeing how the warm wind stirs the trees outside. “I want to.” You say it almost inaudibly, your words nearly carried off by the breeze. You turn back to him only to find him already there, sitting across from you and looking at you closely. Your faces are only inches from each other’s as he searches your eyes. “What do you want to do?”
“I’ll do anything you want to.” Ten’s voice is earnest, like he’d follow you to Hell and back if you asked, and you believe him.
Resting your hand on his cheek, you kiss him.
This kiss is a little different from the ones you’ve shared before—more yearning. More desperate. You kiss like there won’t be enough time to do all the things you want to do with each other—to each other. His split tongue bumps against yours, caresses it, and it causes a shiver to go down your spine, like it always does.
You end up lying back on the bed again with Ten’s body crowding yours in, legs tangling together and hips pressing against one another’s. Neither of you have made a move to take the other’s clothes off yet, but then he separates from your lips for a long moment and studies your features, from your eyebrows down to your mouth.
“Touch yourself for me.”
Your mouth drops open slightly.
“I want to see it.” He takes one of your hands and guides it up under your skirt and between your legs, pressing your fingers against your sex through your underwear, and you look at him with wide eyes, taking a deep breath. He lets go of your hand, and you keep yours right where it is. You’re slightly nervous about his black gaze trained on you, unrelenting and prying, but you begin to move your hand anyway.
Over your underwear, you press your finger between your lower lips, sliding between them and over your clit, and a little tremor goes through your body. You find yourself getting wet more quickly than you normally would with Ten watching you as you tease your entrance. You breathe a little heavier but make no sound yet. One of Ten’s hands reaches out for your ankle, though he doesn’t do anything other than keep his fingers there, a light touch that keeps passing back and forth over your ankle bone.
You circle your fingers across your clit more insistently, your legs tensing as the pleasure mounts higher. Ten’s lips part as he watches you, a heavy breath escaping from his chest. The hand on your ankle slides higher up your leg, just below your thigh, like he wants to slide his fingers into the mix and take over, but he doesn’t make a move to do so just yet.
Finally, Ten reaches under your skirt to pull your sticky panties off, sliding them slowly down your legs and leaving them somewhere on the floor. You want him to touch you again, the brush of his hands against your hips not enough, but he doesn’t grant your desire. “Keep going,” he says, leaning back on his hands, and you can see he’s growing hard.
You bring your hand back to its original place between your thighs, sliding through the wetness more easily and shuddering when your fingertips graze over your clit. You slide a finger into yourself then. A small moan slips out, and you close your eyes, but Ten’s fingers pinch your chin—not enough to hurt, but the sudden touch makes you look at him. “Keep your eyes open.” His thumb presses into your lower lip, and he stares at your mouth for a moment like he’s imagining sliding something hard and hot between your lips.
Ten kisses you on the lips again, and this time he trails the kisses down your body until he’s gripping your thighs on either side of his face. You pause in your movements when he reaches the junction of your thighs, and you watch as he grabs your hand and slips your finger out of yourself. He sucks the slick digit into his mouth, and you cannot tear your eyes away from him.
He lets your hand go and pulls you a few inches closer to his face, dragging you across the bed, and you can barely get your bearings back to sit up again when he slips his tongue through your lower lips. You moan, and he responds to that by repeating it again, catching your clit between the split in his tongue, and wiggling both sides.
“Oh Jesus...oh fuck.” Your hands go to Ten’s hair, pulling on it as you push your hips closer to his mouth, your back curving up. He is alluring tucked between your thighs like this, teasing and sucking your clit with his split tongue and prodding his fingers at your hole until he chooses to slide two of them inside.
His free hand keeps you close against his face as he eats you out, that wondrous tongue sliding against the most sensitive part of your body and making you gasp with boundless pleasure. Little droplets of moisture bead at the corners of your eyes from how good it feels, your stomach tensing and releasing as you try your best to keep still.
He has to keep his grip on your body tight when you come, as you try to squirm away from his tongue because of how stimulated you are. He only lets you go after he’s satisfied himself with licking up all the wet that’s spilled from you.
Then he strips your skirt off for you, because he knows you’re not quite in a state to do it for yourself right now. He peels the rest of your clothes off similarly, which doesn’t take much time or effort to do; you’ve dressed lightly for the weather.
Ten looks at you lying beneath him on the bed, his gaze stuck somewhere between awe and lust.
He slips out of his own clothes with a certain practiced ease. Yes, he’s really blue everywhere. He looks mostly human-like everywhere, too, except for the lack of a belly button.
Ten kisses you deeply as he slips into you, and you clutch at his sides. He tries to keep his pace slow at first, maybe for your sake or to just savor how it feels, but he gives into the feeling of you squeezing around him and starts thrusting into you faster. There is already sweat sliding down to his jaw, though you think it might be because of the heat, too.
“Fuck, you feel so good,” comes out of you in a voice you hardly recognize as your own.
His pelvis sliding against your clit from the proximity of your bodies makes you curl your fingers into the strands of his hair, wanting to touch every part of him you can. His lips go to the sweat-slicked skin of your shoulder, leaving little wet kisses behind as he wraps an arm around your waist and simply fucks into you, his shaft dragging against your walls.
He eventually separates himself from your neck, though it comes with some effort, to gaze at your face again. However, he finds that your eyes have drifted shut.
“Do you wanna come?” Ten asks, softly, gently, like you might break apart if he speaks too loud.
You’re a little winded from how he’s thrusting into you and can’t yet see the motive behind this question—because of course you do—but you answer with a shaky “I-I want to.”
“Then don’t look away from me.” His voice becomes harsher on these words.
“I…” Your lips move without any real words behind them as he thrusts into you harder, sinking all the way into you before pulling out to the tip. You want do what he’s just told you, but you find it difficult with the way he’s intent on burying himself into you, his eyes piercing into your own. “Mmm, I-I…”
You don’t know if you can, but the way he’s kindling your rising heat with each thrust makes you want to try very, very hard. Ten keep his hands on the sides of your face so you cannot look anywhere but at him.
The pleasure bears down on you more with each second, and you try to keep your breathing steady as another climax approaches.
“You’re almost there, come on baby,” he coaxes you, sloppily kissing the corner of your mouth before slipping his tongue in again. The way you gasp against his lips and tighten around him signals him to your orgasm, and he sits back to watch it play across your face, smirking at how you moan his name desperately.
Ten’s continued thrusts make you shiver from the flood of sensations overcoming your body, and you whimper at his movements until he pulls out and comes on your abdomen.
Ten gives you time to recover after you come down from your second orgasm, though he makes sure to lay a few more enamored kisses on your weakened body. He gets off the bed and exits the room after that. You don’t bother to ask where he’s going, because you know he’ll be back anyway.
When Ten comes back, he has his camera with him. The teasing tilt of his lips never leaves his face as he points it towards you. He takes a photo of you lying on his bed nude, with the breeze coming in and rustling the tree leaves and your hair, your skin shining bronze under the light of the eternal star. Then he comes closer, making the bed sink under his weight, and nudges your legs apart. He takes more photos of your lower stomach glistening with sweat and his cum—and photos of him sliding his slender fingers between your thighs and bringing you careening into another bout of euphoria.
The camera is soon forgotten after you come again. Ten climbs fully back onto the bed now and pulls you into his lap. His dick is hard again, and the length of it nudges against your lower lips, making you whimper from how sensitive you still are. He shushes you with a kiss and lifts your hips so he can slide into you, his shaft nudging that soft spot inside you and making you grip onto his arms.
You’re too mushy and dazed to do anything but let him push his hips up into you while you cling to him, your head lolling back. Ten’s mouth goes to the open expanse of your neck, and he wets your skin with his tongue.
The kaleidoscope of shapes above you on the ceiling morphs into one glistening reflection, throwing the blurred shapes of your bodies back to you. It’s like looking through a dense fog. You’re a little caught off guard by it, and you stare up at your nude forms. Ten looks up as well to see the cloudy figure of you cradled in his lap, and he only grins and thrusts up into you harder and smacks your ass in reply.
He grinds into you while he has you sitting full on his dick, and you think he must have set off your internal “reset” button somewhere between landing slaps on your ass and repeatedly hitting your g-spot. Your mind is blissfully, amazingly blank. The only clear thing you can distinguish is how he feels in and around you.
When you come this time, it comes with a gush of wetness that makes Ten whisper several smug praises into your ear for being such a good girl and making a mess on him.
As you quickly find out, Ten’s refractory period seems to be nonexistent, while his stamina is overflowing.
Ten knows how to mix the pain with pleasure in a way that enhances both feelings, and you don’t know if you’ve ever experienced anything more perfect. One moment, he’ll say something romantic and fairytale-like to you before shoving your head into the pillow and taking you from behind in the next moment, pulling one of your arms behind you for leverage as he thrusts into you hard. You want him to do whatever he desires to you, and so you let him hammer into you until you think your hips and ass will be bruised by the next morning.
You’ve never knew that sex could be so carnal and so loving at the same time, but this is all of those things, and it makes you feel so full that you could split at the seams. You scream, cry, and moan more times than you can count, so enveloped by pleasure that it seems like the atoms of your body will simply dissolve from the intensity.
When you both finally become too exhausted to continue, it’s still daytime. Of course. But Ten draws the blackout shade forward and seals all the light out, and so you know it must be time to sleep. Time blends together here. Even if it’s not yet the midnight hour, it will be as long as you deem it so.
“Come here,” he says, and rolls you over on the bed so you don’t have to sleep in the wet spot. You grin in sleepy amusement against his neck as he hugs you to his body. “Let’s stay right here.”
You know he’s talking about sleeping for the next few hours, but you can also imagine he’s referring to your new life—one you’ll create together.

astronomically late to this, but can you say why you dislike lyse? after playing all msq, it just felt like she was not all that well written and stole the spotlight a bit, but everyone seems to absolutely despise her, to the point its gotta be something beyond personal opinion and there's something i must've missed with her
I'll preface this by saying I don't despise her or hate her or anything, I just don't like her. Like, I'm not burning her photo every morning or making voodoo dolls of her, but I definitely enjoy her not being in the scene, you feel me?
Ok, with that out of the way, I just feel like she doesn't stand a chance against literally anyone else of the recurring cast when it comes to... Anything. She's not particularly helpful in any situation, doesn't have much to contribute, doesn't really have a whole lot of character to her, and her best aspects, which were to be a funny background event, sort of evaporated when she stopped being Yda, leaving her with nothing. Stormblood was, in part, supposed to be her big moment, and I was actually excited about that, because I wanted to see what they'd do with her, but they... Just didn't do shit with her gkwopgj4opg
Like her sole tangible contribution is rousing a few people from that one village, and... That's it. And for that, she gets made leader of the Resistance by Dying McOlddude? When M'naago and other far more seasoned and experienced members of the Resistance are right there? And have been for years...? This whelp of a girl that arrived like a few days ago? Because she had 'heart' or whatever? It kiiiinda felt like the narrative was bending over backwards to justify having Lyse around at all, and it all comes across as too artificial, just... Not really believable, which stands out like a cumstain on Yotsuyu's hair because literally the previous expansion we had Alphinaud having to grow into the immense pants he decided to wear, with all the growing pains that entailed. And, again, she doesn't do shit dude! It's crazy! Literally everything that is accomplished in Stormblood is thanks to:
Warrior of Light -> The muscle, which might sound demeaning to some, except it is a very important task, especially when muscle is what legit saves the day in Doma and by extension back in Ala Mhigo as well because Muscle is what you need to convince the Xaela to help you out, which in turn gave Hien a massive army of strong Au'ra and flying mounts to do all sorts of crazy shit, crazy shit he does in your benefit after Doma.
Alphinaud -> The brain, and also the mastermind behind that one sneaking operation, as well as negotiating a lot of sundry but cumulatively essential things throughout the adventure.
Tataru -> The negotiator, ever operating behind the scenes to get you intel and good deals when it comes to going to new places or finding out where to go next.
Raubahn and the Alliance -> Putting these together because they are the main muscle and brain behind every big operation undertaken, facilitated and made possible by the three people above.
Hien, Yugiri and Gosetsu -> Trained, organized, and roused the Doman Resistance, put the course of action in motion, made shit work.
The Xaela Tribes -> Directly worked with Hien, functioning as their main army.
But what DID Lyse do beyond being a mascot in a pretty red dress? Hell she even steps down after it's over so Raubahn, far more experienced dude, can lead the show instead. I just feel like the narrative wanted to make something with Lyse but then didn't really know WHAT to do with her, and by the end of it, did nothing, except tell you "oh yeah she's important" while literally everyone around her was doing a lot of backflips and pirouettes and being useful.
And she's not really a fun character besides. Hell, later on she even is like "oh yeah we gotta let that beast tribe we know is antagonistic and Tempered in the meeting!" and that gets a fucking bunch of people Tempered by Lakshmi. Good going, Lyse.
So basically it just feels to me that things would've been better if we just... Didn't have Lyse around. Legitimately things would've been largely the same. At least it feels like that. More than anything, she feels like the reason why we go to Ala Mhigo in the first place and fuckall else, made all the more apparent by how enjoyable pretty much everyone is in Stormblood.

best friend {javier pena x reader}
summary: after finally calling it a day on a bad relationship, you turn to javier for comfort
warnings: mentions of alcohol + smoking, swearing
i was listening to best friend by rex orange county when i was writing this so i guess it’s loosely based on it? it’s definitely where the title came from. i hope you enjoy!
- jazz
Javier hated pulling all nighters - he especially hated them when it was Friday. Everyone else at the office was either going out to drink or going home to spend the evening with their families. The sounds of music and laughter that surrounded the outside of the DEA offices only acted as a reminder of how lonely he’d become; because, even if Colombia was the source of much of his grief, for others, it was their home. Their happiness and their life. Both of which, these days, seemed to be things he struggled to find
That wasn’t to say that his life completely lacked enrichment. Between the antics of you and Murphy, and the progress you were all making towards capturing Escobar, things weren’t all that bad. Especially you. He didn’t entirely know what your presence in his life meant, but it was a hell of lot. It felt like he’d finally started to see his life in colour when you were assigned the desk beside his. Your energy and your wit enriched everything, even if 99% of your relationship consisted of taking swipes at one another,
If there was one thing he was grateful on nights like these, it was that the DEA apartment building wasn’t too far from the office. Murphy had clearly gotten home hours ago, because his car was in his spot and the lights to his unit at the front of the complex were dimmed. Your own vehicle was a few spaces over from Javi’s, terribly parked (as per usual) and barely between the white lines. At least he could take comfort in the fact that both his friends had made it home safe.
Or, you’d at least made it the front steps of the building.
Javier almost did a double take when he saw you, a half-burnt cigarette in one hand and a completely empty bottle of wine in the other. You were slumped against the railings, eyes glued to the floor in front of you. He knew had it been a rough week - there had been a lot of bloodshed and not a lot of progress - but he hadn’t realised it had been that bad. And you would have told him, right? You told him everything. Literally everything. Probably more than you told your own damn boyfriend (who he hated - not that it was important).
‘Jesus.’ Javi didn’t bother to offer you a greeting.
You looked up at a him, a hazy smile playing on your face when your eyes met. ‘Agent Pena! How are you doing?’
‘You never call me that. I hate it.’ He muttered, dropping onto the stairs beside you. ‘Please don’t tell me you drove home like this.’
‘God, no.’ You snorted. ‘I drove home then went to a bar with Tom.’
‘How is he?’
‘Him? Yeah, we broke up.’ You casually shrugged. ‘So then I brought some wine and realise I left my keys.’
‘Oh, honey.’ Javi murmured. ‘I’m sorry.’
‘Don’t give me that, Jav.’ You elbowed him slightly. ‘I know you hated him.’
‘Guilty as charged.’
Javier stood up, moving the bottle aside and sticking his hand out to you. He didn’t exactly relate to what you were going through. Mostly because he didn’t get into relationships, or that he was always the one to end them. He hadn’t really known heartbreak in the conventional sense. Sure, he’d felt a pang in his chest when you first introduced him to your now ex just over a year ago, but that wasn’t loss. It was just..something he didn’t want to think about. It was a can of worms he’d been pretty good at keeping shut, and he was not going to start sorting through it at 1AM. He was far from drunk (unlike some people) but hours and hours of paperwork and chain smoking had fogged his brain. Right then, you needed a friend, and that was something he could be. Though you hadn’t shared all that much emotion together - mostly just careless banter and harmless teasing - your jobs had bonded you for life. You’d certainly witnessed a lot of twisted things, and it meant that you and Murphy were the only two people in the world who truly understood the kind of thing he dealt with. And, with all due respect to Murphy, you got on Javi’s nerves a fuck ton less.
You tangled your fingers with his, letting him drag you up off the steps. Stumbling for a moment, you gripped onto his shirt for balance. It felt like somebody had taken a baseball bat to your head and to your stomach. Whether you wanted to chunder or faint first, you didn’t know. The only thing you could think about was the warm arms wrapping around your waist, and the feeling of Javier’s body being flush against yours as he pulled you against his side and guided you into the building.
‘Where do you think you left your keys?’ He gently asked. He didn’t say anything when you slumped further against him, all your energy staying solely on walking and not falling.
‘Thabar.’ You murmured.
‘Huh?’
‘The bar.’ You repeated. ‘I’ll go back in the morning. It’s fine.’
‘I don’t think you’ll be awake before midday.’ Javi chided.
He held you there for a moment, fumbling about for his own keys, before kicking open the apartment door.
His place wasn’t bad, but it didn’t feel that far off of a show apartment, or the window of an Ikea. It was identical to yours, except you’d actually made yours homier. Javi’s, meanwhile, looked exactly as it had the day he’d moved in. None of the furniture had moved, and the television had probably been turned on a total of twice. Whilst your place was covered in photos and personally belongings, his was filled with bottles of whiskey and strewn leather jackets. He did have one photo hanging on his fridge; it was a Polaroid of him, you and Murphy, chilling out at your favourite bar. You were in the middle of them, practically hanging off their arms with a grin on your face. Javier would never let either of you actually know how much you meant to him. He couldn’t deal with the teasing.
The next few moments were a blur of you dropping onto his sofa, hitting the leather with a thump. He tossed a warm blanket over you, before helping you kick off your shoes and taking a seat beside you. With the alcohol making you more brazen than usual, you didn’t think twice about curling against his side, and Javier didn’t think twice about letting you. He knew better than anyone that sometimes, a hug was the best medicine - so, he tossed an arm over your shoulders, pulling you towards him in a similar manner to how he had done in the hallway. The smell of his aftershave was gentle, mixed with a faint smell of cigarettes and the mint hand cream he insisted he didn’t use. It was just...Javi. And you loved it.
‘Do you wanna talk about it?’ Javi gently asked, thumb rubbing circles over the bare skin on your arm.
‘I dunno what there is to say.’ You murmured. ‘I saw it coming. I definitely saw it coming but I just...I thought he was it you know. I mean, you probably don’t know because the one for you is whiskey and cigarettes-’
‘- is this an attack on me or your ex?’ He joked.
‘Right, sorry.’ You peered up at him through hooded eyes. ‘Just hurts, y’know? Because for all his flaws, he’s probably as good as I’m ever gonna get.’
‘That’s bullshit and you know it.’ He reminded you. ‘That man never deserved you.’
‘He wasn’t that bad, Jav.’
‘Remember all the times you were in a bad mood because he was late, or because he didn’t turn up to a date?’ His brown eyes flickered, staring at the blank wall ahead. He didn’t mean to overstep, or to be protective, but it was just that it you. And that was reason enough.
‘He was trying his best.’
‘If that’s his best, then he’s in trouble.’ He snorted.
You groaned, flopping further down into his chest. ‘It’s hopeless. I’m hopeless. I don’t need a man to survive but maybe thats why I get through them so quickly.’
‘You’re not the problem.’ Javi said.
‘My mum always said I was too much to handle-’
‘- you’re not.’ He cut you off. ‘If they think you’re too much, then they’re not worth your time.’
‘There’s seven billion people on the planet. There must be someone, right?’
‘You don’t need to find somebody. You’re more than enough on your own.’ He said. (What he meant to say was: you don’t need to find somebody, but it’s okay if you want me).
‘I know.’ You murmured.
A silence fell over you. Javier wasn’t entirely sure what to say, because every time he tried to go over the possibilities, it kept ending with him declaring that he was the one you should be with. It made sense logistically.
You didn’t like to be looked after, but you always let him. You both had the same job, so you both understood the struggle. The spark between you two was fucking immense and there was always something to talk about. It was hard to find a single reason not to be together - except for timing. And timing was kind of everything, especially when there was so much at stake. How much of it you needed, he didn’t know. That wasn’t even calculating in the fact that it would take Javier at least thirty more cycles of convincing himself to tell you before he finally took the plunge.
‘Thank you for helping me tonight.’ You sleepily mumbled.
‘Always.’ Javier replied.
‘I’m trying not to fall asleep on you-’
‘- go ahead.’ He cut you off with a soft chuckle.
‘I appreciate you.’
That was the last thing you managed, before sleep completely overtook you. This was new ground for your friendship - physical touch, deep conversations, Javi teetering dangerously close on the precipice of enlightening you with his feelings. The bottom could even have the best landing ever, or the worst. Was it worth the risk?
Javi peered down at you, completely enamoured at the sight of you quietly snoozy, hand splayed out on his chest and eyes screwed shut. This could be an everyday thing. Domesticity and closeness and you. He could feel his chest physically hurting at the feeling; at the prospect of having you. Like, actually having you.
He pressed a soft kiss to your forehead, brown eyes flickering up to the ceiling. That was when he knew in his very soul, the answer to that question.
You were worth every risk.

— dreams of another
about ; Since that night in the office you wander onto Spencer’s mind at all times, like clockwork.

The second time it happens, it's only a week that passes before Spencer finds himself on the floor of the humid conference room, his limbs entangled with yours, while the cool air settles on the sheen of sweat coated on his forehead. In the corner of of the room, he watches the navy blouse discarded carelessly on the top of a chair, similar in color to the marks between your breast.
The third time it happens, he tells you it's the last time, with his back facing you and his eyes gazing at entirely nothing.
The fourth and fifth time, Spencer doesn't say anything in the tiny space of your bedroom as he overlooks the buildings surrounding your apartment, then all the way to the concrete foundation down below, studying how insignificant everyone looked. How unknowing they were to the moral wrongdoings happening all around them.
"You live so high up. I live four floors down from here in my own building." You listened as he said those fruitless words.
"What does that mean?" You questioned, lips pursing together while your finger nails caught on the creases of the cream duvet beneath you where he laid only minutes before.
“People like you are meant to fuck people like me.” He mumbles, smirking, the vibrations of his voice upheld by the enclosures of cheap plaster walls.
The only thing left to do was to watch as the muscles of his back contracted, dancing in the lines of the darkness with the patter of his feet coming towards you. You monitored the direction of his hand as it reached for the band of his briefs, the other already latched around your neck.
The sixth time it happens, it’s in the bounds of his own apartment where he presses peppery kisses along the sides of your face, assuring you in confidence that she wouldn’t catch the two of you there. And he reassures you the only way he knows how, his fingers plying at your zipper and kneeling like he would at an alter, guiding the arch of your hips closer.
Two weeks from then was when the phone calls started. You began to understand the pattern, laying awake until the sweet pinnacle of dawn where he’d whisper your name through the receiver, exhaustion tainted in Spencer’s voice when he’d ask, “how was your night?” before he began to speak. You’d listen to Spencer talk about the good and the bad. About his mother, vintage cufflinks, and the bookshelf he wanted. Sometimes about the glasses or earrings in the store had reminded him of you. Often about how pretty you looked latched onto his cock. You wanted him to want to keep you.
You wanted him to want you first, to touch you before you even had to lay a finger on him, to grab the back of your neck and kiss you first. Anything he could do to prove that he wanted this too. Something in your head told you it was wrong to long for such a furtive thing. But you found yourself willing to be second best anyways, head stuck below sub zero while you prioritized the taste of his lips along with everything else that made him, him.
So in the shadows this thing between the two of you remained.
And the team began to realize Spencer now had a thing with being late.
They also began to realize that you didn’t drink nearly enough coffee to warrant all of your disappearances.
JJ malignly embarked on the observation of the two of you during meetings, where you never met Spencer’s eye properly but unconsciously leaned your body towards him with each interaction. And all at once it made sense to her, why he was more drawn to his phone, departing from bed at night in preference of hushed ringtones, his growing fondness to late nights. They had never agreed to a proclamation of love, not even on the days she relaxed on his dingy apartment furniture. JJ figured it was his way of waiting on her to feel the same as he might’ve, when in reality it was Spencer’s way of making sure you still remained in his life.
It was a Tuesday when she let the structure of your sin unravel in the bleak corner of the hallway with Spencer, confessing “i know” and chastening him,
“How many people are you willing to hurt?”
With the unequivocal decision pinned to the front of his brain, Spencer told you he didn’t want to hurt anyone else during the last call the two of you shared at night. The words became lost from your ears as you feigned deafness, thinking about how stupid you were to take him in the only way you could, thinking one-third of him be adequate enough.
So you hung up before he said goodbye, and it was easy to do solely because if love couldnt suffice, hate would have to.
It was odd to overlook the call that came immediately after, your eyes unblinking at the white screen. The weeks after that only came to demonstrate that finding a home within someone was overrated, even if you knew who was behind the blocked numbers that caused your phone to viberate so often it would fall off your nightstand.
Little by little you figured you’d forget and move onto your own devices, exhausted by the ability that you still moved through life, yet experienced none of it without itching for him next to you. You lusted after the idea you’d wake up with the intensity of it all slipped from your mind, forgetting how his arms felt, skin, pulse, the sound of his voice, or the soft ringlets of his hair that continued to grow as you wilted.
A harder idea to get out of your head was if he was okay, followed by if he ever thought of you at the same time you thought of him. Did he know you wouldn’t have minded resigning to another team? Or that you considered doing it, even now?
Spencer spectated your life, the base of his throat becoming caught when he watched you get worse, speak less, become smaller. You’d shrunken within yourself. Months passed, with him having too many inquiries about you to Morgan, who always gave him a disappointing look, but told him about you each time. That you hadn’t been sleeping, internal clock stuck on keeping you up until the crack of dawn, your mind regressing backwards solely because of him. He gave up on leaving those stupid sticky notes in your books that said “call me!” or even the ones that asked if you were okay, asking if you able to stand on your own.
He watched you so long that he began to see you get better, more social as you expanded, becoming a part of the team again. You were different, but you were you again. It was a bitter pill to swallow when he took heed that your life no longer included him, keeping his lips sealed at any revelation that would show he was still devoted.
So it was dull-witted when he found himself outside the door of your apartment, swaying back and fourth because every night since the last call his world had been spinning faster and faster, trapping him inside as a prisoner. For weeks straight Spencer had awoken with the feeling of bile ready to rise out of his throat, your presence always lacking even if you controlled the beat of his heart.
He knocked. And thought about how angelic you looked when you answered, the confused expression not going unnoticed by him as a celebration sounded somewhere in his mind because you looked as if you weren’t expecting anyone else. And Spencer knows he’d collapse right then and there if you had been.
“I’ve been thinking— it’s not like I can really stop it— for months. It’s been around sixty eight days since we last spoke,” He began, taking you in, enstilling trust in his brain to get a photo of you so well that he could have it forevermore if you didn’t want him anymore. If that had ever been the case he’d leave. He’d leave the state if you asked him to.
“Why are you here?” You only had four words to say out loud, the rest buzzing around in your head safely, unauthorized to rise out of your throat.
“We never really said anything about it but I think we both knew how we felt.” Spencer leans closer just in time for his lips to land beside your ears, lighting a match inside your chest that had stayed extinguished for far too long.
“Speaking was never our strong suit, anyway.” You replied, your lips pursed while your arms took on a defensive stance, pushing him back gently.
You were shipwrecked inside, pushing him back again, this time firmly because you knew you couldn’t stop him from coming closer, even if you wanted to. You were at a standstill as his hands brought yours to his shoulders, drawing circles on your hip with the tips of his fingers. He was in your doorway asking if he was yours, not trying to eloquently wrap you around his finger.
Your limbs acted before your mind did, digits moving across his adam’s apple and holding tight, restricting his airflow like he had done to you so many times while he fucked you into the mattress. You gleamed at him with not much in your eyes, trying to remembering when you had tried to cross the thin line between love and hate for him. Spencer’s eyes were soft and adoring, a look which he had a tendency to give you. So you held tighter. And he did nothing, knowing you wouldn’t go far but willing to die in your hands if you truly wanted to.
“I don’t know if you deserve this anymore,” Your lips ghosted over his, reprimanding him that he’d forgotten that this had began in a game of adultery.
“I don’t.” Spencer’s voice came out as if he was parched and you had been refusing him of a drink. Your hands released his neck and instead grabbed at his jaw, allowing his lips to mend together with yours, unable to speak back.
“If I loved you any less, I’d be able to talk about it more.” He pulled away just enough to whisper those words.
“You love me?” You questioned, a bit timid in the way it came out.
“It’s more than that. I adore you. Worship, even.”
You felt yourself moving the both of you into your apartment, swapping the publicity of the hallway for the privacy closely afforded to you. Your bodies only got so far, pushing each other against the wall next to the enterence, Spencer’s hands helping to arch your body into his, hands pressing down the curve of your back.
You enjoyed feeling him subtly grind his hips against you while he let out little whimpers, remembering the way he was so vocal and sensitive, yet dominant when he laid between your legs. You drew in a quick breath as he bit down on your bottom lip hard enough to draw the red liquid that ran through your body, conflicted as to why it only drew you closer, want intensified.
“I missed you so much,” Spencer’s voice ghosted in the crook of your neck, kissing and sucking along your throat and collarbones, pushing the palm of his hand harshly against your damp cotton underwear, drawing a shiver from you. “Are lilacs still favorite flowers?”
His fingers played along your slit, the pads of his thumb pressing on your clit and rotating above the fabric, watching your hips jerk from the subtle pleasure.
“I think you missed me too,” Spencer held you, switching places so you now were encased between him and the wall, knowing that soon enough your knees wouldn’t be able to hold you up. His index and middle finger filled you up in a way only he could, the tips of them curving in his direction as he hit the bumpy ridge inside of you.
You held his shoulder, uncaring that your nails dug into the expensive button up he wore, admiring that he always preferred quality over quantity. Your face contorted in pleasure as his fingers only pumped faster inside of your vagina, only smirking at the sorry attempt of a nod you gave to answer him because he had rendered you speechless.
You felt the climb of your orgasm rise in your stomach, reaching all the way to the rest of your limbs, making them feel as if they were just static attached to your body until his fingers ceased, sensing how you clenched around them desperately. Your mouth opened, protests ready to fall out while he grasped the back of your knees, signaling you to jump so he could carry you to your bedroom.
“Why are you always such a tease?” You groaned, endearingly grabbing the hair at the nape of his neck.
“I can’t just let your greedy pussy swallow my fingers and cum from just that...” he tosses you into your sheets gently, leaning down to take your top off and throwing it somewhere to be rediscovered again.
He watches silently as you lift your hips off the mattress, panties sliding down your calves to your ankles, and finally off. Spencer gazes down at you, your jaw in his two hands, staring up with puppy eyes. He let a line of swears spring from his mouth, wondering why you looked so innocent when your hands were planted on his hips, licking the precum that made a wet patch on the side of his pants.
“Quite unfair that I’m the only one with my clothes off, don’t you think?” Your hands settled on his belt buckle, the jingle of metal filling the room as you undid the button to his slacks as well. Tugging him by the band of his boxers to lay on the bed with you, Spencer caught the cue and laid against the headboard. He trailed his left hand along your thighs, lifting you to straddle him as his right latched onto your breasts, squeezing.
“Please sit,” He said, taking a nipple into his mouth, “On my face.”
You sat in a slightly worried daze, Spencer catching the clue to just move you into the position. You found yourself facing the mirror at the foot of your bed, your ass in his face as he grabbed at your hips, trying to bring you higher and get a taste.
“Are you sure?” You apprehensively twisted your torso to eye him, taking note that the two of you had came across something you’d quite done before.
“Yes, I need you to.” Spencer reached his arm around, gently rubbing your clit, and feeling how your whole body relaxed from above him, as he repeated affirmations against your back.
You watched from the mirror, your ass propped up in his face and lips swollen. You could even see when you began the swivel of your hips into him. He didn’t need to say much else before you arched your back, planting your pussy right above his lips.
“You’re so pretty.” He whispered, before running his tongue flatly against your pussy.
Your hips jerked back and fourth, riding on the surface of his tongue that enveloped your clit, sucking on it harshly until he flatly ran it up. His fingers were back at work, touching the places where his tongue couldn’t reach. You determined that this position was now one of your favorites, your hands that were once placed on the tops of his thighs reaching for the bludge in his boxers.
You tried pulling them just far enough so you could begin to run your hands up and down his cock. Spencer’s tongue only assaulted your clit harder when you leaned down, allowing him a new angle so you could push him into your mouth, collecting the precum that had spilt, humming in delight.
Spencer couldn’t stop the thrusting of his hips upwards, burying himself deeper down your throat, both of your moans viberating off the atoms in your room. Your eyes wandered up as you watched, hypnotized at the reflection of you two. It made you wanna take his dick deeper, taking him to the back of your throat as you felt his cum ripple out.
Your orgasm only took a few more seconds to follow his, your moan muffled from your jaw expanded around his cock. Your hasty breaths harbored his while you saw stars. You were casted out of your stupor when you felt the palm of his hand rub circles into your ass, hand coming down in a smack.
“This fucking pussy has me whipped.” Spencer sighed, pressing a kiss exactly where his hand last struck.
When you positioned yourself back across his abdomen, you kneeled, kissing him. You felt him twitch under you from tasting himself on your tongue, reaching down to line up his cock to enter you.
Spencer stared up at you, his eyes wide as he took in the sight of you slowly descending your pussy on his cock. His hands traced the hickies that dawned on your chest, then to his on his lower stomach, watching how the two of you connected. These were marks of possession— ones that he could finally show off.
You rolled your hips against his, slowly circling them and allowing him to hit the most sensitive parts of you. You felt so much fuller than usual, the feeling taking your breath away. Nobody else could reach those heights that Spencer gave you. Maybe it was also because nobody else could occupy your mind like he could, either.
He pulled you down so the two of you could reunite your lips, wearing away at the callouses that had formed around your heart. His thumb drew slow circles on your clit, pulling your orgasm out so you could cum above him. It took a few more thrusts before he came inside you, continuing to fuck his seed back into you from below for just a while longer. When Spencer’s hips stilled, he kept inside, basking in the embodiment of you that wholly consumed him.
He silently traced the outlines of your features, your eye lids fluttering as he reached to them. His fingernails scratched your scalp im a rythem that lulled you into hazy exhaustion. You feel his stare on your face as it occurs to him that he was doomed from the start. You were a wonder to behold.
“Spencer?”
“Yes?”
“Did you forget all of the things I remember?”
“I don’t think I could even if I tried.”

there’s people chasing us and i pulled you into the alley with me and wow you’re close" for Juke, but the people are fans??
lets all just pretend the whole start isn't so convoluted. i kinda forgot they needed to be running and kinda panicked lmao i distracted myself by starting it with an emperors new grove reference for some reason??? 😬 anyway!! hope you like it! 😊💜
1. there’s people chasing us and i pulled you into the alley with me and wow you’re close
50 cliche tropes and prompts!
Sometimes, Julie felt a little like her life was like the beginning of The Emperor's New Groove where Kuzco is pulling down slides and telling the audience how his life ended up like this. A sad llama in the rain.
Only she wasn’t a llama. And she wasn’t in the rain. And she definitely wasn’t sad.
But honestly, if someone was to ask her how she ended up in an alley, breathing heavily with her best friend and bandmate, Luke Patterson standing so close she can feel his breath on her cheeks, can see the flecks of gold in his eyes? She’s not sure how she’d explain it.
The day had started out so normal. They had a day off between tour stops and had decided to use their time wisely. To actually visit the city they were in. Reggie had made an itinerary and everything. They were going to be tourists and buy tacky keychain presents and try the world's best coffee that was advertised on a sign Alex had seen the night before.
The problem might have been the four of them forgetting that people recognised them now. That walking down the street was starting to become a problem. Especially when they were all together. And they’d always known that this was part of their dreams, that making music that connected with people meant that there would be, well, people.
But they’d never really been prepared for it.
One day they were no one. The next, they had crowds of people chasing them down the street asking for photos and autographs and wanting to touch her hair or feel Luke’s arms or wear Alex’s hat.
They’d stopped to take a photo with one girl outside the hotel, and had paused for a small conversation with a few fans near a music shop, and when they’d come out of the cafe with the world's best coffee there had been a small crowd waiting for them.
Being polite and patient only got them so far and when someone started getting a little aggressive with Reggie, the four of them did the only thing they could think of.
They started running.
Luke had grabbed her hand, tugging her through the crowd and running down the street as fast as they could. Hoping Alex and Reggie running in the opposite direction would give them all enough time to put some distance between them all.
“Where are we going!?” She pants, throwing a look over her shoulder as the sound of too many feet starts to follow them.
Luke squeezes her hand and she almost trips over a crack in the pavement when she looks back at him, his cheeks a little red as all he says is, “Trust me.”
And well, that she can do. She’s been trusting Luke since the day they met. Most people, mostly Flynn, would say she was crazy for trusting him so much, with so much. But Luke had never let her down and Julie didn’t think he ever would. Not intentionally at least.
So they run, Julie let’s Luke pull her down a street and across a road and around a store and down an alley.
It’s blocked off at the end by a metal fence and, as they hear more footsteps approaching, Luke pulls her behind a tower of old cardboard boxes. One of his hands is on her waist while his other is still holding hers, only now he has it pinned against the brick wall next to her head. They're both breathing heavily, from the running, from adrenaline, from how close they’re now standing.
Luke’s breath fans across her face, and she can smell the mint chewing gum that she’d passed around to them all after their breakfast. She can see the way his eyes are tracking over her face, the way blue mixes with green with grey and idly wonders if there’s even a way to describe the colour of his eyes accurately. She’d like to spend a few hours trying.
Julie knows they’ve stood this close before. That there’s been so many times over the years where it’s just been them, in their own little world of possibilities. But she knows they’ve never stood like this. That if breathes out her chest brushes against his, and if she leant just a little forward her lips would touch his chin.
“I think we lost ‘em,” Luke whispers and normally this is when her thoughts would stop. When the weird little bubble of intimacy they’d created would pop.
But it doesn’t. And Luke doesn’t let go of her hand, doesn’t step back, doesn’t stop looking at her.
“Power of cardboard boxes,” she says back, voice low and she wonders what he’s thinking as her breath ghosts across his lips. Wonders if maybe he’s thinking the same thing she is and his eyes dip down once.
“We should probably go find the boys.” But Luke still doesn’t make any move and neither does she.
“Luke,” she starts, and Julie doesn’t really know what she’s going to say. Doesn’t have a plan or even a thought to voice because all she can think about is what it would be like for him to close the gap between their bodies, for him to press her a little harder against the brick, for them to finally kiss.
It’s only when one of his brows ticks up slightly, his tongue darting out to wet his bottom lip and for his fingers to flex against her waist that Julie realises that she might have said all of that out loud. Though she can’t quite find it in herself to mind when Luke is leaning down and that last bit of distance is gone. It’s slow and soft, lips moving carefully together like both of them are afraid of something. And then Luke presses her a little hard against the wall and she lets out a moan against his mouth and things get a little rougher, a little messier.
Luke pulls away first, chest heaving as he sucks in a breath and Julie opens her eyes to see the wide smile on his face. She’s pretty sure her smile is just the same. Giddy and excited and just a little bit scared. Tilting her head back against the wall Julie closes her eyes and tries to regain her composure, not that Luke resting his forehead against hers is doing anything to help matters.
"We need to go," Julie mutters, lips brushing at the edge of his jaw and she almost lets out a whine of protest as he moves his head away from hers, though it merely turns into a sharp inhale as his lips trail down her neck.
“You’re standing on my foot,” she giggles, toes wiggling in her shoes against the sole of his foot, and Julie feels more than sees his smile.
So okay, maybe it wasn't such a complicated story of how she ended up in an alley with her back against a wall while Luke was sucking at her neck. Maybe she was just working shopping ideas on how to recount the story to Flynn later on. For a first, second, third kiss in a dirty alley next to boxes Julie thinks it’s pretty great.
#ask#sanssssastark#julie and the phantoms#*prompts#juke#is there just me a small paragraph of me once again wondering what colour charlies eyes are? maybe!!#anyway idk what else to tag this as#it's 2am i should really be asleep

Valentine’s Day with Haikyuu
*DISCLAIMER*: As I’m over eighteen, I write all underaged characters aged up to eighteen or older.
Contains: Copious amounts of sickly-sweet fluff, gender neutral reader
Characters Included: Sugawara Koushi, Kageyama Tobio, Tsukishima Kei, Tetsurou Kuroo
A Valentine’s Day with...
Sugawara Koushi
For Valentine’s Day, Sugawara wants to go beyond buying you the average box of chocolates.
He wants to make you a box of chocolates, and to make it even better, he wants to include you in on the activity.
And of course, he does it in the most adorable way possible, buying heart-shaped molds, Valentine’s sprinkles, edible glitter...
When you arrive for the date, he’s waiting behind the kitchen counter for you, wearing a frilly pink apron over his clothes
“What do you have on?” you laugh, approaching the workstation.
“Do you like it?” He pulls a duplicate out and slips it around your neck. “I got you one, too.”
“Oh my god, you’re too cute!”
“I’m cuter when I’m not hungry,” he replies, tapping your nose. “Let’s get started.”
You volunteer for the task of melting the chocolate to be poured into the molds solely for the purpose of sneaking a taste
Or three
Meanwhile Sugawara is behind you, readying the decorating supplies
“I’m done here,” he announces a few minutes later. “How are you doing? Do you need any help?”
“I think I’ve got it covered here! It’s almost ready to be poured.” you answer, turning around to grab the molds
But Sugawara bursts into laughter when he catches sight of your face
“What? What’s wrong?”
“Just look at yourself.” He opens his phone camera and you discover your mouth completely slathered in chocolate. “You’ve been sneaking tastes, haven’t you?”
“Oh, this is embarrassing.” You go to wipe your mouth, but Sugawara catches your wrist.
“No, I’ll get it.”
And he leans in and gives you a long, wet kiss that leaves your head spinning.
“There. All cleaned up.”
Once the chocolate is in the molds and the two of you are waiting for it to set up, you share the task of licking up the chocolate left in the bowl
And when Sugawara gets some smeared across his cheek, it’s your opportunity to return his favor
Which turns into a long makeout session on the kitchen counter, the two of you only coming back to reality when you accidentally knock the (thankfully sealed) container of sprinkles onto the floor
“Um,” you pull back and clear your throat, Sugawara’s face still only centimeters away from yours, “do you think the chocolates are ready to be decorated now?”
Upon returning to your task and finding the chocolate set, the two of you station yourselves side-by-side, decorating the little candies with each other’s preferences in mind
“Shall we taste-test?” Koushi suggests once the two of you finish, and you each pop a chocolate into the other’s mouth
“How does it taste?” you ask, watching his face for his reaction.
“It’s sweet, just like you.” He breaks into an almost childish grin.
“You’re so cheesy.” You reach out and squeeze his chin. “I love it.”
He swoops you in for another tender kiss. “I love you, too.”
Kageyama Tobio
You had known for a while that a traditional Valentine’s Day with Kageyama was off the table due to the fact that he had a game scheduled on that day for weeks
But he did his part in trying to make sure you were together for the holiday by getting you tickets to see the match
To you, that was a great way to spend Valentine’s- you absolutely loved the pride you felt in people knowing that the extremely talented Kageyama was yours.
Even if his teammates did tease him a little bit every time you were in their presence
He made time to see you before the game started, and you were able to give him your traditional miniature pep talk
Which he always swore he didn’t need, but he never failed to play better when he’d had one
“Well, good luck,” you say just before he goes to meet his team, wrapping him in a hug. “Don’t let me distract you too much.”
“I don’t get distracted, dummy,” he mutters back, but ruffles your hair and sends you an assured smile as he strides towards the gym entrance
You find your seat, which is right in front of the cheer squad, who welcomes you enthusiastically
And as Kageyama takes the court, he catches your eye and raises a hand in a small wave
You blow him a kiss in reply, mouthing “Good luck!”
The match begins, and it becomes clear early on that you weren’t going to have the intended experience of watching your boyfriend play in a fun match, for it turns out to be quite a struggle
Your nails are soon chewed to the quick and your voice is hoarse from shouting encouragements
But when Tobio glances at you during every time-out, you do your best to look completely assured, and send him big smiles
The match eventually reaches the point of a deuce on the third set, and you’re leaned over your legs, looking at the court through your fingers, and someone on the cheer squad is patting your back comfortingly
“I don’t know why I’m so nervous about this,” you admit, laughing at yourself. “It’s just a game. But I want Kags to be happy.”
Kageyama comes to serve at match point, and you can’t help but to stand from your seat in anticipation
And when he scores the winning point with a service ace, you scream in delight
As the team celebrates on the court and the cheer squad celebrates behind you, you sprint out of the stands and burst through the gym entrance
Kageyama spots you immediately and dashes towards you
You launch yourself into his embrace, and he hugs you so tightly that your feet dangle off the ground
“I’m so proud of you,” you cry, tears spilling from your eyes
“I’m sweaty,” he murmurs against your shoulder, his voice almost drowned out by the happy commotion still echoing throughout the court
“I don’t care,” you mutter back, holding him even tighter.
When the team goes for their celebratory dinner, they allow you to come along
You sit across from Tobio, watching his bright expression as his teammates excitedly recap the events of the game
“Why do you keep looking at me like that?” he eventually asks, his mouth full.
“Nothing,” you reply, chuckling. “I just love seeing you so happy.”
“Does it bother you that we couldn’t do something different for Valentine’s Day?”
“Not at all. This was perfect. I’m so happy, I feel like I was on the court with you!”
“Well, I’m not a completely terrible boyfriend. I did do something.”
“What do you mean?”
Kageyama motions for you to look behind yourself, where you spot the waiter holding a tray with a miniature cake, the words “Happy Valentine’s Day, y/n” written on the plate in icing, a candle lit on top
You gasp in delight as the plate is placed in front of you, and you take a moment to make a wish before blowing out the candle
You share the cake with Kageyama whilst half of the team makes fun of him for the romantic gesture and the other half complains because they’re not getting any cake
His cheeks turn pink in response, but from the way his lips twitch, you can tell he’s fighting a smile
“So, what did you wish for?” he asks after offering you the last bite.
“That I get to be there every time you win.”
Tsukishima Kei
Tsukishima was honestly not looking forward to Valentine’s Day
He didn’t really have any idea of what to do that wasn’t the same old stuff, but was coming up empty on any alternate ideas
So it came as a relief to him when you suggested going to see the new museum exhibit that had come to town
The bonus was that it was reminiscent of your first date, which had been a visit to the local natural history museum
Which was when you learned that, as prickly as Tsukishima was, he was also a massive dork
On the fourteenth, the two of you meet on the steps of the museum, looking like an absolute dark academia dream together
The exhibit you bought tickets to was a special Valentine’s Day event, which featured pieces all centered around love, dating from the prehistoric period to modern art
The two of you follow each other around and take those artsy “Look, I’m looking at art,” photos of each other, but as museum-goers, the two of you like to watch the other people just as much as the artwork
In most of the rooms, you sit on the bench that’s placed in the center, observing the people that come in and predicting which piece will be their favorite
And then you guess which piece is each other’s favorite
You keep a tally of how many you both got right, with the agreement that the loser would have to buy snacks afterward
But the two of you know each other so well that you end up perfectly tied
The last room of the exhibit is a digital project, where couples step into a booth and take a photo together to be displayed in a massive collage on the screens lining the walls
“Come on, Kei, please?” You tug on his arm. “Let’s do it.”
“I won’t do any stupid poses,” he warns.
“Do you really think I would make you do that?” You pull aside the curtains and wave him into the booth. “Just do something that feels natural.”
After Tsukishima sits down on the bench and you close the curtain, he stretches out a long arm and presses the button for the photo to be taken.
“Wait, Kei, I’m not ready!” You shriek as the three-second countdown begins, and he responds by pulling you down onto his lap
Your photo turns out completely adorable, with your laughing expression obscuring half his face, only his smiling eyes showing over the top of your head, and enough of your bodies visible to show his arms wrapped tightly around you, your hands laying over his
To your delight, the booth then prints out two copies of the photo so that you could each take one home
You exit the booth and go to find your photo on the wall, discovering a girl standing in front of where it had shown up
She turns when you approach, realizing that you’re the couple in the photo, and makes a pouting expression.
“You two are so cute.”
When you and Kei leave the exhibit, you stop for coffee in the museum’s cafe, discussing your favorite pieces of the night
“That last one was pretty cool,” he admits, hiding his expression behind his cup. “How they made it interactive, you know.”
“It’s okay. You don’t have to admit why it’s your favorite,” you tease, reaching across the table and patting his hand. “I know why.”
At the end of the night, Kei walks you home and gives you a sweet parting kiss, waiting to make sure you’re safely inside before turning to walk back to his place
Though he makes a quick pit stop to buy a small picture frame
Once he’s back in his room, he pulls out the photo the two of you had taken in the booth and slips it into the frame, setting it on his nightstand
When he climbs into bed, he angles the frame to face him, staring at your laughing face and feeling warmth spread across his chest
“Love you,” he mutters to himself, turning off the light and drifting off to sleep.
Tetsurou Kuroo
Kuroo’s objective for Valentine’s Day was to do something that would get your heart pounding and bring the two of you closer, so he browsed some ideas until he landed on one that seemed interesting: an escape room.
He reserved one that was meant for pairs, but the booking came with a disclaimer.
While he’s reserving your time slot, he glances up from his computer with a dangerously blank expression
“You’re alright with being handcuffed and blindfolded, right?”
“Excuse me? Where did that come from?”
“I’m making plans for Valentine’s Day.”
“What the hell kind of plans are you making?” you demand, not sure whether to be frightened or amused, and his refusal to answer doesn’t abate your anxiety
You trust Kuroo, but you’re beginning to wonder if that trust is a poor decision.
When Valentine’s Day arrives, it comes as a relief when he walks you up to the escape room’s storefront.
“Well, your earlier question makes a lot more sense now.”
“Are you disappointed that it didn’t turn out to be something different?” He teasingly raises a brow, and you shove him playfully.
The experience starts with the moderators instructing you to choose one person to be blindfolded, and one person to be handcuffed
You and Kuroo decide through rock-paper-scissors, and the result turns out to be you in the blindfold and him in the handcuffs
The moderators lead you into the starting room, which is only about the size of a closet, and lock the door behind you
Your bodies are pressed right up against one another, making the first challenge of getting out of your blindfold and handcuffs quite a difficult one
You would think that you could just reach up and slide the cloth off of your eyes, but the room is so small that you can’t even lift your arms up.
“Well, this is nice,” Kuroo comments, his breath tickling your ear. “Should we just stay like this?”
“I think it would get very sweaty very quickly.”
“All the better.”
“Later, babe. I’m interested in this now. And there’s got to be some sort of other door around here,” you conclude. “I just need to find some way to get my blindfold off so I can look for it.”
“I can help you get it off.”
“How? You’re handcuffed.”
“Just hold still.”
You feel something gently scrape against your face, and when your vision is unobstructed, you see the blindfold dangling from Kuroo’s mouth.
“Did you use your teeth?”
“I couldn’t think of any other way.”
“Well, I’m not going to lie, that was hot.” You notice the outline of another door behind Kuroo. “Hold still. I found the door.”
In order to reach it, you had to wrap him in a tight embrace, your arms brushing against his hips as you reach for the doorknob.
And you start to realize exactly why this particular scenario was meant for couples.
“Okay. Now use your ass to open it,” You instruct, and Kuroo complies with a smirk, revealing the next chamber and a million clues, which you can’t resist checking out immediately
“Aren’t you going to help me get out of these handcuffs?” Kuroo complains, and you fix him with a smirk.
“I think I like you better that way.”
After a playful stare-off, you reach around him and pull the key off the hook behind the door. “Here.”
Once Kuroo is free, the two of you dash around, quickly solving the clues already laid out and uncovering new ones
The both of you work amazingly well together, and with Kuroo’s intelligence, you’re able to escape the room in a record-setting time
Which would’ve been even shorter had you focused the whole time and not found something to laugh at or tease each other about every five minutes
Banter truly defined your relationship
Because you set a record, the staff wanted to take your picture to put on their wall
But as you’re getting in position in front of the themed backdrop, Kuroo announces that he forgot something, and runs in the direction of the lockers, leaving you staring after him in confusion
But when he returns, he presents you with a bouquet of roses, a little cat plushie poking its head out the top
“I wanted to do something traditional,” he explains, scratching the back of his neck sheepishly.
“Kuroo! I love it. Thank you, baby.” You take the flowers and stretch up to show your gratidue through a kiss, and when your lips lock, out of the corner of your eye you see the flash of a camera
And when the staff member offers to show you the photo before it gets printed, you discover that it’s the most adorable picture of you and Kuroo that you’ve ever seen in your life, and you immediately ask to take a copy home
As you’re leaving the escape room, your attention is so completely focused on the printed photo that Kuroo has to take your arm and guide you in the right direction, steering you away from wandering straight into traffic
“Why do you keep staring at that picture?”
“It’s just so cute, don’t you think?” You angle it towards him. “Don’t freak out by me saying this, but it almost reminds me of a picture of a proposal.”
Kuroo averts his gaze forward, the corners of his mouth tugging upwards. “Well, I guess we have plans for next Valentine’s all figured out.”

Family Time
EZ Reyes x Reader
Request by the wonderful @ly--canthrope: Shopping for the coming baby and the reader and him are giggly, soft, soon-to-be parents and they end up decorating the nursery together that afternoon and their dog is with them and gets curious about the baby bump and then curls up on the reader’s chest, protecting her because she is the valuable one
Warnings: EZ being a super sweet and cute human, a protective doggo, and baby fever
Word Count: 1.9k
A/N: We love a little baby fever for our boy!! EZ would be such a phenomenal dad and you cannot convince me otherwise. Also did I do a little projection with the nursery decorations?? Possibly.
EZ Taglist: @noz4a2 @queenbeered @sincerelyasomebody @sadeyesgf @thesandbeneathmytoes @appropriate-writers-name @tomhardydallasstarsgirl @multiyfandomgirl40 @sillygoose6969 @louisianalady @gemini0410 @paintballkid711 @chibsytelford @yourwonkywriter (If you want to be added to the tags for any of my writing please let me know!)
“Oh but wouldn’t this look cute on the wall above the crib?” you pointed at the framed picture on the top shelf.
EZ smiled, shaking his head, “I just wanna know, Querida,” he walked over to you, resting his hand on your ever-growing baby bump, “how much Winnie the Pooh stuff are you planning on putting in our baby’s room?”
You laughed, placing your hands on top of his, “As much as I can!” you rubbed your stomach lightly, “How long have you been thinking about decorating the nursery?”
He shrugged, “Ever since you told me that you’re pregnant.”
You nodded, “Right. So you’ve been thinking about this for about seven months. I’ll even say a year, since we started talking about kids. But, I, on the other hand,” you laid your hand against your chest, “have been day-dreaming about decorating my baby’s nursery ever since I knew I wanted to be a mom. I got lots of ideas in here,” you tapped the side of your head.
There was a soft smile on EZ’s face and you could feel the love radiating off of him, “I love you,” he leaned in and kissed you.
You smiled, “I love you too.”
He stood up on his toes, reaching the top shelf that you couldn’t and placed the frame in the cart, “But you realize the nursery isn’t that big, right? I mean, we’ll still need somewhere to put the actual baby when they get here.”
You laughed, shaking your head, “There will be room. Besides, babies are small. They could fit anywhere.”
EZ laughed, “I’m not sure that that’s the mentality we should be having,” he leaned against the cart, “How about we take this stuff and cash out. We can head home and start decorating the nursery, and if when we’re done we still have room, we can come out shopping again next week and I won’t give you a hard time about not having room to put the baby somewhere. Deal?”
You smiled, resting your hands on your stomach, “Deal.”
The two of you pulled into the driveway of your house. The second that EZ cut the engine on the car you could hear the dog barking inside. You chuckled to yourself, shaking your head. He knew the sound of EZ’s car and yet, despite the countless days he’s heard EZ pull into the driveway, he still loses it every time it happens.
EZ comes over and helps you out of the car. For a while you would try to wave him off, saying that you were pregnant, not incapable. But he would continue to insist, so eventually you stopped fighting him on it. You asked if there were any bags that he’d let you carry in, knowing that he wouldn’t let you do the One-Trip Olympics like you had before you were pregnant. He smiled, handing you the smallest bag as he collected up the rest of them. You rolled your eyes with a smile as you left him to his devices.
You made it to the front door, turning the key in the lock. You tried the best you could to stand off to the side as you opened the door, knowing that your dog was going to fly out into the yard and head right over to EZ. He’d always liked EZ more and you had never really questioned it—EZ was the one who brought him home from the shelter, after all. He was nice to you, but very rarely did he ever get cozy with you.
He came tearing out across the lawn and was attempting to jump on EZ despite the fact that he had multiple bags in each hand. EZ laughed, trying to carefully step around the shepherd that was jumping at him, “Down, boy. Easy.”
He was refusing to let up so you whistled, calling him over to you, “Apollo! Come!”
The dog whipped his head back around to you and slowly trotted over. You stood just inside the door to the house, coaxing him in so that EZ could walk in peace. He trailed happily behind the two of you, sniffing excitedly at the bags that EZ was carrying.
“Looks like we have an extra helper for decorating,” you laughed as Apollo sat in the doorway of the nursery.
“If only he had thumbs,” EZ chuckled.
Both of you looked around the nursery. Painting was already done—EZ had enlisted Angel’s help with that. They’d let you help with that solely because they hated doing the taping. Over the course of a weekend the three of you had turned the previously blank walls of the nursery into a forest scene. While it was for the baby it would be the 100 Acre Wood to keep with your Winnie the Pooh theme, but it was a neutral enough paint job that it could grow up with your child. At least, that was the way that you had pitched the idea to EZ.
The big things had already been put together thanks to Felipe. He wasn’t going to have either of you fretting over putting together the crib and dresser when those were things that he could easily take care of in an afternoon. He’d even attached a mobile to the crib, and also went out and found a nice little bookshelf when you had mentioned it was something you had been thinking of for the baby. He wasn’t always the most verbally expressive man, but you’d never doubted for a second that he loved you and the baby that you had on the way.
“Alright, so what do we need to get into place?” EZ looked over to you for some direction.
You pressed your lips together in thought, “Okay, we need to get the changing table in here, along with the little standalone closet. Plus we got a couple shelves to throw up on the walls. And the string lights. And the framed photos,” you paused, “Oh and the reading corner with the chair.”
“So…the whole room,” EZ laughed as he rested his hand on the back of his neck.
You smiled walking up and kissing him on the cheek, “We don’t need to get it all done today. We got time.”
He rested his hands on your bump, smiling, “Not as much as we think, Querida,” he didn’t take his hands off of you as he continued to talk, “I’ll take care of the changing table and the closet to start. If you want to find a place for the string lights and stuff, I can bring in the chair afterwards and we can work together on the reading corner, okay?”
You nodded, resting your hands on top of his for a moment, “Sounds good. Thank you for doing all the heavy lifting, EZ.”
He laughed, shaking his head, “You’re carrying the most important thing. The least I can do is move some furniture around.”
You were able to hang up the lights and even a couple of the framed photos as EZ got the bulkier furniture all situated in the room. He was right—the nursery wasn’t a huge room, but somehow it still didn’t feel cramped despite all of the things that you were moving into it. It felt cozy, and you couldn’t want for the three of you to spend time there.
“Okay,” EZ took a deep breath, “where’s the chair going?”
You gestured to where the string lights were, “I figured over there? That way there will be some nice soft light while we’re in here reading.”
He smiled, nodding, “Sounds perfect.”
You hated that you pretty much just had to sit back and watch him do everything, but you knew that even if you tried to assist he’d shoo you away. After he situated the chair, he sat down in it and looked around the room. He nodded in approval and waved you over. You crossed the room to meet him, interlocking your fingers with his. He attempted to pull you onto his lap but you shook your head.
“I’m two people now, EZ,” you laughed, “I’ll crush you.”
He rolled his eyes, “Don’t be ridiculous, Y/N. I’m way too strong to be crushed. C’mere,” he tugged at your arm.
You sighed, wanting to pretend that you were annoyed with his persistence but you really loved it. You took his hand in yours and tugged him towards you, “I’d be so much more comfortable just cuddling with you on the couch. You deserve a break from all the hard work anyway,” you lifted his hand to your lips and placed a kiss on his knuckles, “The little stuff can wait until tomorrow.”
The two of you got situated on the couch. You were leaning against EZ’s side, his arm wrapped around you so that he could keep you close but also feel any motion that the baby made. For a few weeks already you had been feeling intermittent kicks, and the sensation never got old. You loved how excited EZ got every time that it happened.
“You’re still okay with not knowing ahead of time?” you asked him as you rubbed your hand over your stomach.
He smiled, nodding, “I like the surprise. No matter what they’re going to be so loved,” he kissed your temple, “Just like their mother.”
You smiled, settling back into him, “I love you.”
He pressed his lips to the side of your head again, “I love you too.”
You both returned your attention to the show you were watching. Every now and then you’d feel a small kick in your stomach, and you’d look over to see EZ with an ecstatic smile plastered across his face as he soaked in the moment. He’d lightly trace his thumb along your stomach for a few moments before his eyes returned to the TV screen.
You heard the jingling of a collar and suddenly Apollo was trying to climb into your lap. You laughed, trying to resituate yourself so that the couch could comfortably hold all three of you. Despite your efforts to make space for him to have his own section of cushion, he was determined to lay with his head in your lap. You and EZ both looked at each other and shared a confused laugh, unsure where the sudden bout of cuddliness came from.
His head was nestled against your stomach and thigh. You gently pet his head and neck, reveling in how calm your usually excited pup was. A few minutes passed with all of you enjoying the calm that had taken over your household. Then you felt another kick. You looked at Apollo, and you could tell that he felt it too. You chuckled quietly to yourself as he pressed his nose against your stomach, trying to figure out what had just happened. While his nose was pressed against the fabric of your shirt, there was another kick. His ears perked up and he looked at you as if to ask if you could explain what had just happened.
You scratched behind his ears, “It’s okay. It’s just the baby. You’ll meet them soon.”
He stared intently at your stomach for a few more moments, waiting for something else to happen. When all was still quiet, he laid his head back into your lap. You watched him for a few moments, chuckling to yourself at the way his eyes would dart over to your stomach every so often before he would close them.
“You think he knows?” EZ asked as he watched the whole scene unfold.
You nod, “I think so. He’s getting ready to love someone else in this house more than he loves either of us,” you chuckled, “You’re about to be de-throned, knocked out of the number one spot on his list.”
He laughed, kissing the top of your head, “I’m alright with that.”

college boyfriend!wonwoo
—genre: fluff
—au: college
—pairing: jeon wonwoo x reader
—song to listen to while reading: falling for u — seventeen
—word count: 2.9k words
—warning(s): mentions of sex, a bit of cursing. also i feel like this is a bit of a mess but so am i when thinking of wonu so
never, in your two years of university, had you actually met your best friend’s roommate
his name was wonwoo, and according to mingyu, he spent most of his time either in class or working as a waiter at a diner downtown
the only times he seemed to be home was either late at night, after you had either gone home or passed out on mingyu’s bed while he slept on the couch, or early in the morning, after you had gone to your own classes
which was weird considering how most of your days were either spent in class or in mingyu’s flat, as it was bigger and way more comfortable than your tiny dorm
you knew he existed, of course, because sometimes you’d come to find a hoodie of his lying on the couch
or a book neatly placed on the coffee table with a bookmark stuck somewhere past the middle
sometimes you’d even find a cup of half-drank coffee resting on the sink, a rarity considering just how neat mingyu’s roommate seemed to be
you’d seen him in pictures
he would be tagged in some instagram story drunk mingyu had posted when coming home from the club, the roommate rolling his eyes at the taller boy for making a mess as he entered the flat
or he would be smiling in a group picture taken at some birthday dinner with the rest of his and mingyu’s friends
and you had seen him in the portraits that hung in their living room; some of his and his family and some of his and his friends
and you had heard of him
oh boy had you heard of him
mingyu never really stopped bringing him up, blabbering about how wonwoo had accidentally opened the door to the bathroom while mingyu was showering (which was a big deal since mingyu had... broken the shower curtain a week before and still hadn’t gotten a replacement)
or talking about how he had almost choked on his soda after he was told his photos were selected to be exhibited at a showcase
and at that point, you were sure you were pretty much acquainted with him ... without even having said hello
but you had never actually seen him
and the first time you did, it was so rushed and chaotic, that it was almost as if you hadn’t (or at least, that’s what you would have wanted)
because you and your friends had gone out clubbing
and you had ended up drunk off your ass
which caused your roommate to call mingyu, the only person she could actually trust with your well-being in such a state, to pick you up because she was going off with someone for the night
and mingyu, being the loyal best friend he was, was left to deal with you and your nonsense
which included you practically screaming a very slurred “hey! you’re the roommate! dude, you’re cute!” to wonwoo as mingyu ushered you to his room
poor wonwoo was just coming out of his room when you had walked (kind-of) inside the flat, hair a mess with a big grin on your face (despite your now-ruined lipstick)
and it was a bit astounding at first
because wonwoo had never actually seen you either
he’d always thought it was weird, of course, because of the way mingyu always talked about you... he had always thought you two were pretty much a thing
it’s not like mingyu had ever spoken about you in that way, but the thought had planted itself in wonwoo’s head and now there was no way to shake it off
and the fact that he’d walked outside his room to find you and mingyu laughing and cooking breakfast together next morning didn’t help
because you had music playing and were lip syncing and smiling at each other
and wonwoo only whispered a quick “good morning” before he walked back inside his room with a glass of water in his hand
because well ... you were cute
but you were also with mingyu
and weirdly, after that night, the two of you started seeing each other almost everyday
turns out you shared not one, but two classes, and had not once noticed because you sat in opposite sides of the classroom
and you frequented the same coffee shop, almost always stopping by for your daily caffeine fix at the exact same time
and you were usually around the same spots in the library, faces way too deep in a book to ever notice the other
and well... you thought he was cute too
but he sort of, kind of, definitely avoided you whenever you saw him
he wasn’t rude or anything, but he’d never spend more than five minutes around you whenever you ran into him
not even when you laid in mingyu’s couch eating pizza and watching re-runs of your favorite dramas, because wonwoo basically chose to eat cold cereal alone in his room than to be around the two of you together
he was very observant, and in those few weeks, he had noticed you
like, really noticed you
and how you both enjoyed the same kind of books, drank your coffee exactly the same, listened to the same type of music and even had the same kind of humor
he noticed how similar you two were
he noticed how perfect you two went together
but you were with someone else already
except you noticed all of those things too
but once again, wonwoo avoided you like the plague
so that had to mean he didn’t like you, didn’t it?
it broke your heart when thinking about it
and you tried to ask mingyu but he was always like “nah, he doesn’t hate you. i think?”
so you were back to staring at him in class and hoping he wouldn’t turn around and catch you in the act
little did you know that you were slowly falling for each other
but being so similar, you tried your best not to think about the other
and as finals came around, it wasn’t that hard, because again, you both immersed yourselves in your academic lives so much it basically became your sole focus for that one period of time
until the boys went out to celebrate soonyoung’s a+ in his calculus test
and wonwoo saw mingyu make out with some girl in the middle of the dance floor
his hands balled into fists by his sides almost unconsciously, and he was 100% sure he would’ve gone and told mingyu off if only he wasn’t entrusted with dealing with a very drunk seungkwan, who was doing a very good job with keeping him occupied
because he kept trying to pick random sing offs with every single person his eyes fell on
and just because the rest of seungkwan’s roommates were equally drunk, he and jun had to spend the night at their place to make sure they were going to see the next day
but as soon as he went home the next morning and ran into a ... very shirtless mingyu, he went off
and boy did he go off
“how could you do that to (y/n)? do you even know how lucky you are? fuck, mingyu, you’re such an idiot. i swear, if you don’t go and apologize your ass off - no, actually don’t do that. you don’t deserve (y/n), you know? after what you did?”
and he just kept ... going
and poor mingyu was just staring at wonwoo as he blabbered whatever was on his mind at him and he was ??? so confused
“what the fuck are you even talking about?”
“i saw you! i saw you making out with that girl last night! and you brought her here, didn’t you?”
“well, yeah, but i-”
“see! that’s what i’m talking about! you cheated on (y/n) and go about it so casually, as if-”
“wait! cheated on (y/n)? wonwoo what the fuck?”
and mingyu ... he looks so lost that wonwoo would probably had just left if only he wasn’t so mad at him
because he was so, so, so head over heels for you
and the thought of you being hurt made his blood boil
“what does (y/n) have to do with this?”
“you’re their boyfriend! and you brought a girl home!”
“jesus fuck wonwoo, you got it all wrong! (y/n)’s my best friend! that’s it! we’re not dating, oh my god.”
and wonwoo was just ??? standing in the middle of the kitchen, face red, hands balled into fists and just about ready to swing at mingyu to defend your honor
and so it dawned upon mingyu. why would wonwoo even care? did you two even know each other?
“wait! do you like (y/n)?”
and wonwoo basically rolled his eyes at mingyu as he walked away and left the taller boy in the kitchen by himself
and well ... wonwoo didn’t know what to do
because he had tried to keep his feelings to himself for so long
and now they were basically fighting, with all their might, to come out
and he felt as if he was dreaming, or in some sort of daze, because before he could even realize, he was walking back into the kitchen and to a (still) very confused mingyu
“can you give me (y/n)’s number?”
mingyu nodded, still analyzing the situation, and handed him his phone with wonwoo’s yelling still buzzing in his ears
“i’m sorry, by the way”
and it must have been the remains of his sudden jolt of adrenaline, because his fingers were basically gliding over the keyboard as he texted you a sweet hi, it’s wonwoo. mingyu gave me your number, hope you don’t mind :)
you didn’t see the text until a little after when you woke up
because well... you’re so not a morning person
but when you looked up your phone you nearly passed out
because it was a text from wonwoo
your crush, who you could’ve sworn hated your guts before that morning
and you also had like 15 missed calls from mingyu and a very confusing text you didn’t even understand (something about him being scared? and demanding you to go to his apartment? in all caps?)
so you took a shower, got dressed (slightly more elegantly than you usually did when you hung out with mingyu) and went over to his flat
and to your surprise, it wasn’t mingyu who opened the door
it was wonwoo
he was smiling at you, and it was the most beautiful smile you’ve ever seen
but then you heard mingyu’s voice from the kitchen
“thank god, go somewhere else and sort out whatever it is that’s going on before wonwoo actually punches me in the face”
and you were really confused
but didn’t fight wonwoo when he took your hand in his and guided you away from the apartment and to your usual coffee shop for you to have breakfast together
he told you everything over a plate of warm croissants and two iced americanos
his cheeks were tinted pink and he’s smiling in embarrassment, but his voice didn’t falter
because talking to you felt natural, as if he had been doing it for a long time
and you feel the exact same way
so you didn’t say anything when he held your hand over the table as you both talked about how funny mingyu must’ve looked when wonwoo went off at him
his cheeks were tinted red the whole time
that doesn’t change as you start going out
because even when he’s your boyfriend, you so much look in his direction and his face is flushed red
talking about that, nobody knew the two of you were dating at first
except for your (now traumatized) best friend
so when the boys were hanging out at mingyu’s apartment and you came out of wonwoo’s room with you very flustered boyfriend walking behind you, everybody was like ???
and it didn’t help that mingyu saw the two of you and went “not when i’m around for gods sake”
the boys looked so confused when wonwoo was like “oh, we’re dating”
because some of them knew you
“wait so... mingyu’s best friend... and his roomate...” followed by a giggle from the one and only yoon jeonghan
and a very loud whine from mingyu hehe
the tall puppy you call your best friend lays off it a few days afterwards
he’s still a little scared of wonwoo but it’s okay to him, because your boyfriend often uses it to his advantage
like the the time the two of you were cuddling on the couch, each with a book of your own, and mingyu kept going on and on about how the three of you should go out for some ice cream
and wonwoo stared at him like he did that one morning
“you know what? maybe jihoon wants to go get ice cream, enjoy the rest of your day”
but anyways
your relationship with wonwoo is really, really, really domestic
like the two of you spend way more time just cooking together and having deep-ass conversations in his bed while cuddling than anything else
one of your favorite things to do is laze around in sweatpants and hoodies while reading and listening to music
because if you basically lived in wonwoo’s apartment as mingyu’s best friend, you spend even more time there now that wonwoo’s your bf
he even cleared out one of his drawers for you because you kept on leaving clothes there every time you spent the night
mingyu even added you to the “neighbors!” chat after declaring you their unofficial third roommate lol
you also go on plenty coffee dates
especially before class
and then when you get to your shared classes, hand in hand, people are like ??? were they dating ??? but don’t dwell on it too much bc you two do go along like two peas in a pod
study dates in which you two DO study but also have a great time
because you’re listening to music and helping each other revise over some snacks
talking about music, he’s always making you playlists
he’d literally be listening to any song and think of you, so he’d have like 15 playlists full of songs that “sound like you”, as he says
you’re always cracking jokes around the other
and people don’t get it sometimes
but you always do
so when you’re around the guys and woo cracks a joke that no one laughs at but you, he feels rather happy?
i mean he’s always like 🥰🥰🥰 anyways so
boy dresses so comfortably
that if you ever get to wear something of his, you’d be in heaven
he’s pretty tall ? and broad ? so his clothes fit you so so comfortably
and he gets super shy whenever you do but it also makes him so happy
especially if someone else notices
like if you go out late for dinner with him and gyu and wear something of his and mingyu goes like “isn’t that wonwoo’s hoodie?”, boy goes like 🥰🥰🥰 once more
i feel like the two of you don’t necessarily flaunt your relationship
since he’s pretty shy i don’t think he’d be into pda
but you’re always super close to each other
and if he feels comfortable enough, he’d hold your hand or put his arm around your shoulders
if you ever go on a night out together though
oh boy hehe
prepare for wonwoo’s hands to be on you at all times
especially when you’re both a little tipsy and in the middle of the dance floor
all of the guys would look be low-key scared at how close wonwoo and you are grinding dancing, completely lost in the music (and each other)
because it’s so much closer than what they’d ever imagine coming from the two of you
which prompted mingyu to be super awkward around you two for the following days hehe
talking about that, mingyu basically flees the apartment he hears even the faintest noise coming out of wonwoo’s bedroom
and idk i feel like, opposite to his usually quiet nature, he’d be pretty vocal in bed
super into dirty talk don’t even fight me on this
it’s more like super amped praising than actual dirty talk but still
loves it when you ride his thigh
loves it when you ride him in general
idk i feel like the two of you would have a sex playlist
and the songs on there are suuuuuper sensual
so it’s not like you’re going at it wildly but it’s... really intimate and ~spicy~
super into holding hands and kissing you so damn hard as he gets close
he once tried to give you a strip-tease but went super shy right in the middle of it and you never spoke of it again lmao
i feel like wonwoo would be a super romantic lover
not the type of romantic that recites poems and buys you flowers every day or anything
but the way he kisses you when there’s nobody else around, and you feel like it’s only the two of you in the whole world
and the way he looks at you, with so much love and adoration it almost makes you cry
and the way he holds you at night, so close to him you can literally listen to his heartbeat
and the way he opens up to you when you’re alone in his apartment and goes “i just... i never thought a love like this would even be real, you know?"
he literally never gets enough of you
but it’s okay, because you don’t either

First/last meme: Fujiko/Goemon, 28
28. First/last photograph
~
The hideout had never been so cluttered with photos. Ever since Jigen swiped that camera during their last gig he’d been obsessed; pretending to be cool and nonchalant about it but the sheer number was enough to prove otherwise. Lupin was threatening to cut his paycheck and just convert his salary to film.
Goemon liked to look at them, though. And though Fujiko tended to get exasperated when he wouldn’t use her as a model, he often caught her rifling through them too. There was a simplicity to most of the shots; a quiet stillness that reminded Goemon of home, wherever home was.
Fujiko was curled up on the bed near him, in her slippers and ready for sleep. She’d be leaving the next day, and Lupin and Jigen had taken off just that morning, but that gave Goemon a night alone with her.
“He didn’t take any of his pictures with him,” Goemon remarked, looking at the nightstand near where Jigen had been sleeping during their stay.
“He’ll take more,” Fujiko said, her eyes shut.
Goemon had to agree, but he picked up the photos anyway and began looking through them. Mostly they weren’t of people. Jigen didn’t take portraits very often. Mainly they were interior shots taken from inside dark rooms, or close-ups of the piles of mess they tended to naturally leave around when they were heisting. There was a shot of Lupin at his worktable late at night with a single lamp illuminating him, a few pictures taken from outside the window at passing cars, and one or two that appeared to have been snapped quickly from the rope ladder of a rising chopper.
As he flipped through, Fujiko sat up and started looking over his shoulder. “There’s a lot of you,” she remarked. Goemon flushed and pretended he hadn’t noticed, but yes, there were pictures of him meditating, of him preparing dinner, and one of him dozing off in the back of the car with the city lights on his face.
It was pretty clear that Jigen had a favorite subject when it came to portraits, but Goemon was a bit annoyed that there were virtually none of Fujiko. If she appeared at all it was in the background of a shot of something else, never the main focus.
Until they got near the end, and she took in a breath beside Goemon. It was the two of them in the kitchen with the morning sun coming through and she was kissing him on the nose. As usual with Jigen’s photos he had a knack for lighting and timing so that everything fell into place. “I want to keep that one,” she said, taking it. Goemon wasn’t sure if it was out of vanity or sentimentality, or perhaps a little of both. Either way, Goemon was somewhat flattered that the photo she chose to keep was not just one of herself, but that he was there too.
Goemon would keep one or two for himself, he was sure. Jigen would probably never miss them. Maybe someday they could organize them and put the best ones in proper albums instead of scattering them to the winds, but not tonight.
Tonight they’d just sleep together. These memories would not be saved on film to last for an indeterminate number of years, but they would live on in their minds, and that would be plenty for them both.
~
It was a warm night and Goemon was engaged to be married in two days.
Instead of spending every moment with his bride-to-be, though, he was out on a walk with Fujiko. It would have seemed unkind in any other context, perhaps. But Jigen and Lupin were teaching Murasaki how to cheat at poker, and when Goemon had left the house, she was beating them by miles.
“So you’re leaving the day after,” Goemon said. “I thought maybe you’d stay a while. Lupin and Jigen are planning to spend a month here...” after that, they’d go, too. And Goemon would not.
“Well,” she said at last. “It’s not gonna be forever. When the wedding’s over I’m going to do a few weeks in Nepal, but after that... who knows. I might come back and see you again.”
And it wouldn’t be forever, Goemon knew. When he’d proposed to Murasaki the second time he’d taken her aside first and explained everything. They had to walk all the way through the village and surrounding forest and back again before it was all told, but eventually he got it out. Everything from his birth, his family history, his training as a samurai, his career as an assassin, and then a thief. His bravery and his criminality and the people he loved. He told her in the end that she couldn’t be the sole love of his life. That she’d have to share him because though he’d tried for years to make an end, he would never be able to untangle himself from the people he’d made a life with for years and years. He could choose her as his wife, and give her that space in his heart and future that would be hers alone, but other parts would belong to the three people he’d loved first and would love always.
He told her all that, and then asked her if she would still have him. And he’d been expecting a no, so the outcome he was facing now was a surprise to him, though not an unpleasant one.
“I’d like that,” he said. He didn’t think he could have said goodbye to Fujiko any more than he already had. “Oh, there’s something...” he’d meant to give it to her, and he didn’t want to forget before she left. Sometimes she could disappear suddenly and he wouldn’t know when to expect her again.
Jigen had slipped him a handful of photos when they arrived and told him to keep them safe. They were, Goemon guessed, a sort of wedding gift. Jigen would never be the sort to do anything official like that, but he realized that they were intended to be something to have with him even as he started his new life.
They were of the four of them, taken throughout the years and their journeys together. Goemon had noticed with amusement how Lupin’s jackets and Fujiko’s hair color had changed and changed back, and how Jigen stayed more or less the same although sometimes he traded his clean-cut mobster look for something more resembling a modern cowboy. How Pops even showed up once or twice, always in the background, always watching quietly.
Many were of Goemon and Lupin, or Goemon and Jigen. A few of the three of them. Even more of Goemon, Lupin and Fujiko, with Jigen’s presence being felt mostly in the angle and focus of the shot. And then a few, just a few, where all four of them had managed to cram into a single photo and stood smiling. There were only a small number of Goemon and Fujiko alone. But there was one, taken just last week in the hotel in Tokyo where they’d stayed over before making the drive to Murasaki’s home. Goemon stood looking out the window at the city, lost in thought, and Fujiko was looking at him. Neither one had noticed Jigen’s sneaky photography but it was clearly taken by him and not by Lupin. The composition was far too advanced.
He held the photo out to her.
“This is from last week,” she said. “Are you giving it to me?”
Goemon nodded because he didn’t know how to say why, or what it meant to him. He didn’t even know how to say yes, it’s for you, so you don’t forget me while we’re apart. She never would, of course. So all he did was nod and she smiled and slipped the photo into her pocket and maybe she’d keep it and maybe she wouldn’t. But she would NOT forget Goemon.
But it didn’t matter, really. He was walking with his lover on a warm night, soon to be married, but not to her, and that was okay. His boyfriends and his fiancee back at home, the three of them already close friends. The family changing and growing and separating for now, but not forever. It had never been forever before and it never would.
Fujiko was right. And life was fine.
#Lupin III#Jigen's like 'what if I just took photos of everyone always everywhere'#and Fujiko does end up with a lot of herself. don't worry#he just liked to tease her initially by not taking any#as for Goemon I think if he marries Murasaki she's going to have to just join the polycule!#I just cannot see Goemon truly happily giving up his family like 'oh it's been fun but see ya'#no. he would always be pining and that would not be healthy for him OR for Murasaki#better for him to accept who he is as he moves into another stage of his life#whether things work out with Murasaki or not. he WILL have a home and his partners will always be waiting
