A Unifying Theory of Loreography (Lore + Choreography)
(2/3/21) HELLO to all new folks finding this post! It is also now a YouTube Video, and I’m pretty happy with it so if you’d rather get your lore analysis visually please check it out!
Preface: I don’t think it’s just coincidence that we got full choreography for an intro called “Devil is in the detail”, and I’ve made it my mission since 반박불가 dropped to pull apart the threads that might link everything, lore-wise. This morning I believe I had an epiphany about it, so here are my thoughts.
If this flops I will feel my soul exiting my body so please validate me.
Notes: In forming this theory I mostly considered the events of the storyline MVs and teasers as well as the choreography, but a very important part of my epiphanies came when considering the post-MV stingers for TBONTB and 반박불가. It’s using these stingers that I feel like I can better understand the thesis statements in the choreo.
Part One: Now then, where were we?
At the end of TBONTB, the monarchs are approaching monumental, pitch-black gates made of skulls and desperate, reaching hands.
Tumblr media
I can’t not interpret this as the gates of Tartarus, considering the Greek mythology in the canon lore already. Tartarus, however, is at the lowest depths of the underworld, and so my interpretation is that, while they reclaimed their souls from the necklace, they awoke physically in a realm beyond the underworld, and now have to make their way out of this psychological nightmare to breathe free the air, as it were. Through Tartarus, through Hell, this is not because I played 80 hours of Hades in the last three months but it might have a little to do with that. Stay with me. (Though if anyone is wondering, YES Leedo would be Zagreus, but that’s not why we’re here today)
Part Two: Devil is in the Detail
Tumblr media
What an opening formation. The imagery is not 100% clear to me, but I feel as if this entire opening formation sequence is dual-wielding imagery of a crown (much like the killing part of TBONTB), but also the gates of Tartarus.
Tumblr media
Look at this transition once Hwanwoong ascends to the top of the formation, and how the hands all come out, similar to the gates above. I’ll be damned if this is supposed to invoke anything else.
Tumblr media
Rewinding a bit, this framing of Seoho being resuscitated and borne by their hands is stunning. Seoho’s journey in the TBONTB choreography merits its own post entirely, because there are a lot of moments that seem to be telling a story for him particularly, and this is just a continuation of that.
Ravn and Leedo being separated for the rap line part seems like an obvious utilitarian choice, and I agree that it is. However, before we prepare to dismiss all “pairings” as serving the progression of the song itself, I have another theory that ties together a lot of the inciting moments of choreo. I promise you this is going to sound like A Reach, but that’s just how my mind works and if you enjoy it I’m glad.
Leedo, Hwanwoong, and Xion are the monarchs who have absolved themselves by the events of 반박불가, and fully reclaimed their souls as well as their conscience. Seoho and Ravn, not so much. They have a lot of work to do to free their conscience - especially Seoho. Oh, lord, especially Seoho. Keonhee is an extremely interesting case, as he seems to have a foot firmly in both sides, More on that later.
For further paranoid conspiracy theorist proof of this, please note that their outfits in the choreography videos symbolically reflect this:
Tumblr media
Light, Light, Light/Dark, Dark, Dark/Lightish, Light
If you need more convincing, may I point out that Leedo, Hwanwoong, and Xion are the only members who got those wonderful “all clothed in white” shots in the back half of the 반박불가 MV? I tried to make a gif, and I did make a gif, but Tumblr doesn’t want to post it in this text post.
Tumblr media
(you rn)
The most interesting moments of loreography in DiitD are the following:
Tumblr media
1. These lotus hands. Again, the imagery, I die!! Keonhee is coming into his own, his character is blooming, expanding his consciousness, going sicko mode with the realization that he has power in the underworld.
Tumblr media
2. Directly following this, Seoho offers a hand to Keonhee and literally drags him down (again, the light/dark dichotomy of Keonhee), while the two good good boys Hwanwoong and Xion are back there just trying to maintain balance so they can get through this Hell/Tartarus thing.
Tumblr media
3. Good ol’ ONEUS Summoning Circle, but wait this time I think it’s actually meaningful beyond the imagery. Seoho is at the center because he has the vocal line, yeah obviously, but he stays there much longer than is objectively necessary without a formation change. This isn’t common in ONEUS choreography. As much as they love their Summoning Circles, they tend to move on to other formations quickly. This one has meat on its bones, and I think what’s happening here, loreography wise, are the other monarchs banding together in an attempt to save Seoho from the darkness. But Seoho is powerfully dark, y’all, even going so far as to overpower them in the moment above.
Tumblr media
4. This is flame imagery. Seoho has been engulfed in flames despite everyone’s best efforts.
Tumblr media
5. At the last minute, he gets yeeted via backflip back into Hell/Tartarus
Tumblr media
6. Keonhee takes the initiative in going back for him...
Tumblr media
7. We’re back in Hell, that’s just great. Thanks, Seoho. You’re lucky we love you and your extremely disturbed conscience.
With this in mind, you can probably get way ahead of me, here.
Part Three: 반박불가
Perhaps not remarkably, the title track doesn’t have nearly as many loreography beats as DiitD. However, we know it’s part of the lore, and this was made abundantly clear simply with that opening move...
Tumblr media
This is where we left off TBONTB, but not exactly. There is a slightly different formation of dancers here, which suggests it’s not picking up exactly where TBONTB left off, but rather that this is a cue to let casual fans know, explicitly: yes, this is a continuation of the TBONTB story.
Some moments don’t have choreography allusions, but they are loud in the MV, such as:
- “Youngjo, would you stop playing with flowers, our lead vocalist is going to Hell.” Ravn, who barely scraped out of Hell last time, ostensibly with Leedo’s help according to the rap line break in the choreography, has a rough time of it in the 반박불가 MV, but Hwanwoong isn’t going to let him fall back into toxic behaviors and lose himself to that psychological prison again. Hwanwoong drags Ravn back out of Hell, but not before Ravn successfully makes contact with Seoho. Obviously, Ravn would be the one to make contact, because Ravn’s still a little on edge about his own conscience and can easily backslide if he wants to. Who does he find down there? Seoho.
- Keonhee, who led the charge to return to Hell, is staying on task but seems to be the chief of operations to Hwanwoong’s chief of intelligence here, exercising his newfound sicko mode. Those two are certainly working hardest at keeping the servants of darkness in check down in the depths so they can make a quick break for it.
- Leedo’s actually having a grand time fighting his own demons - or rather, smirking at them and realizing that nah, he’s good. He can use his guilt and regret to motivate him towrd good things now.
- Xion is literally just above all of this and can move between Hell and Earth with ease, so he’s just waiting to see if he has to pull any Fallen God-Prince cards here to save his friends.
Now, for the key loregraphy moments. It’s obvious that 1Million was choreographing for a new direction in the ONEUS style, here, so it’s nearly bereft of the usual lyricism and formations, but they’re definitely there. Unsurprisingly they almost all deal with Seoho.
Tumblr media
1. God, this moment whips. They’re all working to free Seoho and lock the gates behind them, with Keonhee giving Seoho one final push. That’s not a normal choreography move. That is storytelling and it sticks out like a beautiful sore thumb with an entire sonnet written on it.
Tumblr media
2. With Seoho on lock, now Ravn may break out. He does so rather easily, but it’s not without Hwanwoong’s help. Please notice that Keonhee and Seoho are the two BEHIND him, and what that symbolizes.
Tumblr media
3. This fucking bridge. It’s amazing with the loreography. First of all we have Keonhee, and the Summoning Circle is using the same imagery/texture that was formerly used to represent engulfing fire. Uh-oh.
Tumblr media
4. Keonhee reaches out...
Tumblr media
... but gets dragged under.
Tumblr media
5. (excited football commentator voice) but who’s that on the outside making it to the surface, literally with the support of the other monarchs? IT’S SEOHO (cheers)!!
And Seoho finishes things out in the center, as well he should because he got us into this mess.
Part Four: What just happened to Keonhee
Tumblr media
I’m so angry at this post-MV stinger. It took me forever to wrap my brain around what is being suggested here, because I thought “hey wait, the red lighting represents darkness/hell, doesn’t it?? DOESN’T IT?? RBW???? I thought we just GOT OUT OF HELL????
So I leave the final interpretation in everyone's individual hands, but the thought that occurred to me today was:
What if this entire scenario was a test of resolve and camaraderie, an illusion, a trick by the Devil (or that donger Helios, whatever). What if Keonhee was the only one who saw through this, and the only one who genuinely made it to Earth at the moment he appeared to have been dragged back to Hell? Because, as we know, Keonhee is a tactical genius, a monarch among the monarchs, and all his visual imagery in the MV suggested a sort of power cabal.
What if he realized that they weren’t all strong enough to face the challenge of breaking this cycle, so he schemed to leave them behind, but leave them safe in the illusion, while he struck out with the power of God and anime on his side.
I... I think Keonhee is about to go kill and dethrone a God, y’all.

You see your father waiting at the entrance of the airport as you exit baggage claim. You haven't seen him in a long time, especially not alone, but he looks almost the same as he did when he moved here to Korea with his wife, who now stands beside him, waiting for you. She looks to be almost half your father's age, but you don't say anything.
Several years ago, two years before you entered high school, your parents divorced, and later your dad moved to South Korea with his Korean wife. Since then, he would visit your home once a year, for a week at a time on your birthday. But you've never been to Korea before now.
You had a friend when you were younger who was from Korea. But a year after your parents split, he moved back home to Korea. You fell out of contact soon after, but you often wonder how he's doing.
You approach your father. Your height difference has changed significantly since you last saw him. You're now much closer to his height than you were before. His wife, a Korean woman you met once when he introduced you so many years ago, before he moved to Korea. You don't remember her name very clearly. It started with an S, maybe? Or a J? Something like that. Her black hair is cut in a short bob, and her smile is soft, almost insincere. A little boy you didn't notice stands beside her, looking up at you curiously.
"Hi, Y/N," your father says, giving you a hug. You return it, uncomfortably, and then pull away. You smile in an attempt to placebo yourself into feeling more comfortable, but it doesn't work. "How was your flight?"
"Fine," you say. "A bit bumpy, but not too bad.
"Have you met my wife?" he asks, placing his hand on his wife's back. You shake your head.
"Hello, I'm Sooyeon," your step-mother says. She shakes your hand, then directs your attention to the little boy beside her, who is now hiding behind his mother's legs. "And this is Sunho."
You bend down to Sunho's face level, in sort of an uncomfortable squat. "Hello," you say, your voice softer. He waves with his tiny hand.
"How old are you?" you ask. His mother, Sooyeon, translates to him. He must not speak English. Or maybe he just isn't fluent. Sunho  raises his hands up to you, showing five fingers on one hand and his thumb on the other.
"Oh, six?"
"Yes, he's six years old."
You nod. Sunho smiles at you proudly, and he smiles back, still hiding behind the cloth of his mom's skirt.
"He's shy," Sooyeon explains.
Your father directs you out of the airport to his car. You sit in the back with your half brother, Sunho, while your dad and step-mother sit in the front and passenger seats. The ride to their apartment is quiet except for Sunho, who giggles as you make silly faces at him. At the same time, you watch the buildings zip past.
You haven't seen your father in about a year, but he's barely spoken to you since you've arrived, other than introducing you to his wife. You don't know if you should be surprised.
You reach the apartment, and your father helps bring your stuff inside. He shows you to your room. It's empty, and blinding white, as if they just had it cleaned this morning. You walk over to the bed to stand in the center of the room. It feels so empty and plain and large, compared to your small room at your home.
"Y/Nah," your dad says from the doorway. You turn to him, slightly startled by his voice. You've been here in Korea for a few hours and you still aren't used to his voice yet. "Sooyeon is going to have dinner ready in about half an hour. Does that sound good?"
You nod. "Yes."
"Y/N . . ." You look up at your father questioningly. "I'm happy to see you."
You nod, unsure of whether you feel the same way. There are reasons you live with your mom full time and only see your father once a year.
Your father closes the door as he leaves you alone to take in the room on your own. You set your bag aside and open the closet to find it empty. Since you'll be here for two months, you are expected to use the room as you wish. You don't have enough clothes to fill the closet yet in your suitcase, but you wouldn't be surprised if you collect additional clothes during this trip.
You put away all of your things, hanging up your jacket and putting away your shirts and pants. You stare at the bed. It's so clean that you almost don't want to lie down. But you're tired from the plane ride and the emotional exhaustion of meeting your father for the first time in forever. But also, Sooyeon is making dinner for the four of you, so you can't sleep, because that would both be rude to her and would also mess up your sleep schedule for the next two months.
With somewhere between ten and twenty minutes left before dinner--you haven't been keeping track--you decide to sit down on your bed and scroll through the internet and think.
You think about how you used to come to school and tell your friend, the Korean kid--gosh, you wish you could remember his name, he was so nice, but it was so long ago--about what happened at home the day before. You would tell him about how you couldn't sleep because your parents were screaming at each other again, or you would tell him about how your father hurt you or locked you in the basement as a punishment.
You sigh. Aren't parents supposed to be the adults you look up to? The ones who you learn from? Aren't parents supposed to be an example of a healthy relationship? But instead, all you saw and heard was screaming and violence. You grew up being afraid of your own safety, and wondering if watching your mother being hit or threatened was normal.
You frown. The more of that you saw, the more and more you gave up on the idea of a relationship. It was what love was supposed to be--doors slamming, screaming every night--you didn't want it.
Why did you want to come here and spend two months in Korea with your father again?
Right. You wanted to try to mend your relationship with him. Why? Because he wanted you to. And you knew that, if it didn't end up working out, you are now old enough to get a room at a hotel to stay safe if needed.
You sigh. Maybe this wasn't a good idea. Maybe you should go back home and--
"Y/N?"
You look at the door. Sooyeon, your step-mother, has opened the door just enough to poke her head inside the room. You must have been so deep in your thoughts to not hear her open the door.
"Yes?" you say, your voice light as you pretend to be happy and excited to be here and see her.
"Dinner is ready," she says.
"Oh, thank you, Miss Sooyeon. I'll be there in a minute."
"Of course. And please, call me Eomma," she says, smiling widely. You nod, though you aren't very comfortable with calling her the Korean word for mom. You already have a mom who raised you alone for the past six years. Why would you call this woman who you barely know cmom" when you don't see her as that? When you already have a mom that raised you alone? You'd rather call her Miss. Sooyeon.
"Thank you, Eomma," you say anyway. You're afraid that, if your dad finds out you're being disrespectful or disobedient, you'll get in trouble.
She disappears from the doorway, closing the door as she leaves, and you sigh. You're already so emotionally drained by being here, and you still have two months left.
You swing your legs off of the bed and stand up. All you have to do is get through dinner and then you can go to bed and sleep. Maybe in the morning, you'll feel better about being here.
You walk over to the dining room. Your father is sitting at the table, which has been set with table mats, plates and silverware. Sooyeon stands next to him, and Sunho sits across from him. He smiles at the sight of you and points to you. Your father and Sooyeon both look at you at the same time. They both smile widely, but their smiles don't make you feel comfortable. So you just smile at Sunho instead and sit next to your father while Sooyeon sits next to Sunho.
"So Y/N," Sooyeon says, halfway through the meal. "What do you like to do?"
You blink. How do you answer that? You don't know this woman. You don't know if she's genuinely asking because she's genuinely curious, or if she wants information for something, or if she's going to judge you and criticize you, or if--
You shake yourself. These are your trust issues speaking. Maybe you should just answer her like a normal person without trust issues would.
"I listen to music. And I play some video games. I read and draw a lot. I just finished my freshman year of college, so it's difficult to focus on my hobbies as much as usual," you say, sipping from your glass of water.
"Oh? What kind of music do you listen to?"
You squirm in your chair. All of these questions being shot at you are starting to feel like an interrogation, and it makes you feel anxious.
"I, uh, listen to many types of music," you stutter, your voice quiet from the internal stress.
"Y/Nah, don't mumble," your dad scolds loudly from next to you, causing you to jump in your chair. You're still not used to his voice, and him scolding you for the first time in years isn't helping at all.
"Sorry, dad," you mumble, ducking your head.
"Answer your Eomma's question," your dad says, leaning toward you,  and you wince at him speaking so close to you. His voice is loud, demanding, and booming. The same that you remember, back when he would shut you in the garage or closet when you were twelve.
You take a deep breath.
"I listen to many types of music. Not a specific type, really." You can feel two pairs of eyes on you. Your father and Sooyeon are staring at you, while Sunho just continues eating. "Eomma," you add. Your father leans back in his chair, and you wish you could feel that relaxed.
You had expected that he might have changed in the past seven years. You'd hoped he'd become less violent and scary.
It seems he hasn't.
He's almost the same as you remember.
Loud, angry and intimidating. His presence demeaning power and attention from the rest of the room.
"You're in college, right?" Sooyeon asks.
"Yes," you confirm.. "I just finished my first year."
"And how was your first year of college?" she asks.
"Fine."
She nods, and doesn't ask anymore questions. You wonder if you made it clear enough that this is a topic you aren't interested in talking about with her.
You finish your dinner in silence. Your father allows you to wash your dishes before you head to your room to say goodnight.
You sit on your bed, considering the past few  hours you've spent here in Korea. It's not bad. The city is nice. The bed is comfortable.
But none of that really erases the memories of your parents screaming through the walls, the fear and pain you endured for several years and the loneliness you endured for several more years.
Really, you're not here for fun. You're here to mend a broken relationship that you're not even sure is worth salvaging.

Catch Me  (villa dell'amore Series)

Catch Me
Ravn x (Y/N)
Rated: M for later chapters
chapter 1 “Worst Ways To Fall In Love”
This was the worst possible way for this to happen. Well, maybe not the worst, but it was definitely top 3 on your "worst ways to fall in love" list. A million things running through your mind as you lay in the muscular, dripping wet arms, of the mystery man who may have just saved your life.
“Um,” The man breaks the long silence. “Are you okay?”
His voice, somewhat rough yet still silky smooth, drawing you in. Beautiful deep brown eyes holding you in a trance, all the while you’re thinking of licking-
“Hey, could you get up, my arm's going dead here,” He says, irritation forming in his voice.
You blink, snapping back to reality, and to the fact that you are currently being held up by a half naked man in the apartment's communal showers. “Oh,” You manage to squeak out before practically flinging yourself out of his grasp and running out of the steaming room. “I’m so sorry!” You screamed, quickly fleeing the scene.
Sprinting full force up the stairs back to your room, and quickly lock the door. You slide down the hard wooden frame to sit on the less than comfortable hardwood floor. “Wow.” You whispered, the only word your scrambled brain could come up with.
Who was this mysterious man? You may have just moved into this place a week ago, but you were sure you had already met everyone in the complex, and you would have definitely remembered meeting this one.
You lived in a small communal living "apartment", though it was closer to a  rundown house with a bunch of sectioned off rooms, that consisted of eight tiny rooms, one large kitchen, one working bathroom, and no privacy. Anywhere.
Just having moved to the city for school and after what seemed like the hundredth available room for rent you visited, you somehow stumbled upon this "quaint, communal living villa" named “Villa Dell'amore” advertising a free room. After another day of disappointment, what was one more.
Disappointment may have been a slight under exaggeration as you stared at the room. It was half the size of every other place you had seen, and was not quite what you expected when you read "villa", but it was also half the price of everything else near campus so who were you to argue?
Everyone in the complex was nice enough at first impressions, and you were all going to attend the same university. There were six rooms currently occupied, you only had the chance to meet five of the residents. Lee Seoho, Kim GunHak, who liked to be called Leedo, were in two of the four rooms on the second floor with you. Then there was Lee KeonHee, Yeo Hwanwoong, and Son Dong Ju, who everyone called Xion, that stayed in the three rooms on the first floor. They told you the sixth missing occupants names, but you couldn't remember what they called him. Your mind was still attempting to process what just happened.
"Well, I guess we just met," You mumbled, slouching over onto the floor. It's not like you meant to walk in on him as he was getting out of the shower... or slip and fall into his arms... and stay there for a much, much, longer time than necessary. "Why'd it have to be the bathroom." You reached for a plushy for comfort, or to smother yourself, which ever seemed more appropriate.
A knock on the door startled you out of your embarrassment induced anguish. Laying perfectly still, you hopefully thought they would go away. Unfortunately, another quick knock, and no way for you to escape. Taking a deep breath, you slowly got up and unlocked the door to see who was there.
Oh, was it your lucky day, because there stood the handsome mystery man, directly in front of you now. At least this time he was fully clothed.
"Too bad," You thought unconsciously.
The man cleared his throat. "So, um, about earlier," He started.
Before he could get another word out, you swung open the door and bowed deeply in front of him. "I'm so sorry about that!," Cheeks bright as you nervously looked up. "I didn't know anyone was in there and I was going to knock, not that I don't usually knock, I just thought everyone was gone-" You began to babble, unable to stop all the words spewing from your lips.
"Pfft-,"
You immediately stopped and looked up to see the man trying to stifle his laughter, but failing completely. His smiling face, too much for your heart to handle.
"So cute,"
"So cute,"
What? Did you just say that... or was that...
"No, it was my fault. " He said. "I should have locked the door. I'm not the only one who lives here. It's just good you didn't fall. You didn't get hurt, did you?"
You tucked your hair behind your ears, cheeks somehow hotter then before, if that was even possible. "Yes- I mean No! No, I am not hurt, thanks to you." You managed to stutter out, heart fluttering.
"My name’s Kim YoungJo," He says, smiling at you with an outstretched hand. "I'm a student at the University up the street. I heard someone new moved in while I was gone. Nice to finally meet you."
How was he so confident, even after something so embarrassing just happened? You had to play it cool, if he wasn’t going to let it bother him, you had to do the same, and stop being a total spaz.
You took his hand. "My names (y/n)," You replied, a soft smile on your face. "Nice to meet you, too, YoungJo."
"You can call me Ravn," He said, shoving one hand in his pocket. "If you need anything, I'm in the room right next door." He jestered.
With that he turned to head back to his room. "Oh, one more thing," Turning back to look at you with a smirk. "The walls between rooms are pretty thin, so be careful about being too loud or anything." He tapped the wall with his knuckle and winked before disappearing into his room, closing the door behind him.
You stared in slight confusion before it dawned on you what he was referring to. The blush that had slightly dissipated returned full force, leaving you to stare after him in shock.
You covered your hot, flustered face with your hands and leaned your head against the open door frame. "Am I going to survive here?" You thought.
============================================================
This is my first biasxreader, I usually write for characters and in third person, so this was interesting to try out. I wanna make this a series, but you can always enjoy this as a one shot too, just hella fluff. Hope you enjoy~

김건학, Kim Gunhak
shizziebo asked:
Can I have a roommate!leedo fic where you two have high sexual tension, a lot of intimacy, he sweet talks you into doing what he wants, stuff like that and you’ve slow fallen for him but you’ve agreed within yourself to never act on your feeling in case he doesn’t feel the same and things become awkward between you... and that’s all I have so lets your imagination run wild with this!!!

.
.
“Gunhak!” she called down the stairs, giving her hair a quick brush before she had to rush out the door.
“Yeah?” he called back, his deep voice resonating in the stairway.
She threw her brush onto the bathroom sink, rushing to her room to grab a pair of socks. She tried to keep herself balanced while she forced them on. “Keys!” she shouted.
“What?”
She gave a frustrated huff, pulling her socks up the rest of the way. “Keys, Gunhak! Keys! My car keys—where are they?”
“They’re down here,” he replied.
She snatched her heels off the upstairs shoe-caddy. “Okay, but where?” No reply. “Where?” she called, louder that time. She rolled her eyes, assuming he must’ve been out of ear-shot.
She ran down the stairs, jumping two steps at once to save time. She turned the corner into the kitchen, almost slipping on the hardwood. “Where are they?” she asked, considerably quieter this time.
Like perfect timing, her bread popped out of the toaster.
She caught it expertly, slathering on some butter. She glanced around. “Gunhak?”
“They’re on the counter,” she heard him say, though she couldn’t place what room from. Probably the living room. He was always working out there, when he had time.
She huffed. “Dude, we have three different counter-tops in this household.” She took a big bite of toast. “Can you be more specific—OKAY, WHAT THE HECK?” She covered her eyes with her remaining toast. “Uh, okay, dude? We’ve been over this! If you’re gonna exercise while I’m in the house, put on some clothes!”
Gunhak—her roommate of three months—stood in the doorway, a pleased smirk on his face. He looked smug as all get-out and he was half-naked, his shirt having been long abandoned. “What?” he cooed. “Does seeing me shirtless get you all hot and bothered?”
She rolled her eyes behind the toast. “No, it repulses me,” she said. “I work a 9 to 5 office job with a shitty boss and annoying colleagues. What I don’t need to see first thing in the morning is your sweaty man tits—now where are my keys?”
He crossed his arms, leaning against the door frame. “I told you,” he said. “On the counter.”
“Which counter?”
He shrugged. “I’ll tell you if you look at me,” he offered.
“Wow, so tempting,” she said sarcastically. With the toast still covering her eyes, she pushed past him. “I’ll find them myself.”
He chuckled. “Aren’t you late, or something? Do you really have time for that?”
She heard a quiet metallic jangle. She froze. “You have my keys, don’t you?”
“Maybe,” he said teasingly, the keys jangling again, only louder.
She groaned. “You so do!” She decided: screw it, scarfing down the rest of the buttered toast and facing him. “Give ‘em,” she said firmly, holding out her palm. “I said: give them,” she repeated, enunciating more clearly.
“Why would I do that?” he asked coyly. “It’s so much fun to watch you beg with that nice pantsuit on.”
She scoffed. “First of all, this is the same suit I’ve had for the past two years, and I haven’t washed it in about three days, so it’s nothing special. Second of all, when have you ever seen me beg, Kim Gunhak?”
She walked forward and pinched his forearm. “Drop it!”
With a small wince of pain, he dropped the keys to the floor. She quickly swept them up, a proud look on her face. “Good boy,” she teased, giving his head a pat, rather puppy-esque.
He pouted. “That wasn’t fair,” he said, rubbing his arm.
She shrugged. “Life’s not fair,” she said. “Get over it.” She gave him a pat on the shoulder as she walked past. “And for God’s sake, have a shirt on when I come home.”
+++
She walked into the company building with a coffee that she picked up on the way. Her heels clicked against the tile with a steady tap-tap-tap.
“How’s your hot roommate?” a voice asked from behind her.
She jumped in shock, some of the liquid spilling onto her hand. “Crap!” she grunted. She spun around, an annoyed glint in her eyes. “Seoyeon!” she chastised the younger employee. “I told you to stop doing that!”
She gave a sheepish smile, doe-eyes and innocent heart-shaped lips making almost everything she did forgivable. However... She wasn’t all pure, incorruptible innocence.
That was proven by the way she talked about Gunhak. Or any guy she thought was particularly attractive. She was a good kid, though. Hard worker, kind friend, intuitive young woman.
“I’m sorry!” Seoyeon said apologetically. “It’s not like I try to sneak up on people—it just happens!”
She sighed. “It’s... fine,” she settled on. “It’s fine. Do you have any tissues on you?” She gestured to the splatters behind her. “I’ve gotta wipe that up.”
Seoyeon shook her head. “No way!” she said. “You’re the senior employee and I’m the one that made you spill it.” She pulled a pack of wipes out of her overly-expensive purse. “I’ll clean it up for you.”
She raised a brow. “In exchange for info about Gunhak?” she asked.
“But of course.”
She couldn’t help but chuckle. “Fine,” she groaned, having an unexplainable fondness for the strange girl that’d started working under her two and a half months ago. “I’ll give you the latest dirt on ‘hot roommate’,” she agreed.
Seoyeon had gained a small obsession on Gunhak after dropping some work-related papers off at their house. If you must know, he answered the door shirtless. That’s why the ‘Don’t Answer The Door Partially Clothed’ rule was invented.
That’s how he’d gained the nickname ‘Hot Roommate’, which is what everyone at work knew him as.
She shook her head at Seoyeon, the one who’d started it all. Because of her, she had an irrational fear of Gunhak stopping by her workplace one day and overhearing that kind of nonsense.
It’d only go to his head, and she didn’t need anymore of his ego clogging up the works.
She and Seoyeon walked side-by-side, heading to their cubicles.
Well. Seoyeon’s cubicle, but her desk. As a senior employee, she had to have at least one perk. “So,” she started, taking another swig of coffee, “first thing I saw this morning was his bare, sweaty chest.”
Seoyeon’s eyes widened, gaining a childish sparkle in them. “Oh!” she chirped. She snapped her fingers. “You finally slept together!”
She almost visibly gagged. “No, thank you! He was breaking rule number three and working out without his shirt on again,” she said. She shuddered. “Ugh, nasty! I’m not gonna be able to get that image out of my head.” She flicked the younger employee’s forehead. “This is your fault, kid!”
Seoyeon giggled naughtily. “If I was you, I’d be thanking me,” she sang. “Not a bad image to have in your head all day.”
“Nope, you’re right,” she said. “It’s a very bad image. Can you stop being such a pervert already?”
She bowed a little, that same risque smile playing on her lips. “Sorry, Miss Senior,” she said.
“I told you, you don’t have to call me that,” she sighed.
Seoyeon shook her head cutely. “I feel like I have to,” she said. “You act like such an old lady.”
She gave her a sidelong glare. “And what’s that supposed to mean?”
“You wake up, you come to work, you call the younger employees ‘kid’, you never do anything fun and you never date anyone, even though you’ve had so many offers. From really attractive guys!” Seoyeon sighed dreamily. “You even live with one,” she said.
She reached her desk, finally sitting down. She immediately slipped her heels off under the desk where no one could see. “Yeah, well,” she sighed, booting up her computer, “being handsome’s not everything there is, kid.”
“But it sure is a lot,” she hummed, sitting across from her. “I have a question.”
She opened up a few files, immediately getting down to typing. “Is it work-related?” she asked.
Seoyeon shook her head. “Nope.”
“Gunhak?”
She nodded.
“Shoot.”
Seoyeon rested her head in her hands, looking like the prettiest flower that’d bloomed on the finest day in spring. “Why do you have so many rules?” she asked.
She stopped typing. “With Gunhak?” she asked, wanting to make sure she was understanding correctly. Seoyeon nodded. She let out a deep sigh. “‘Cause life’s hard, messy and unpredictable,” she said.
Seoyeon furrow her annoyingly perfect eyebrows. She didn’t even have to wax—it was like she popped out of the womb like that! “I don’t understand.”
“I don’t want any accidents or mistakes,” she said. “You understand? I don’t want to fall into something we’re not ready for. I’m not in the mood to date, and despite how much he flirts and acts like a playboy, he’s not interested either.”
Seoyeon pouted. “But how do you know he’s not interested?” she whined. “It seems like you two would be such a good couple. You already bicker like you’re married, and you live together, too!”
She motioned for her to zip the lip. “Enough, kid,” she said. “I told you what you wanna know, and now you’ve gotta work like the rest of us.”
“I think you’re just scared!” the doe-eyed girl huffed.
She quirked a brow. “Scared?” she echoed.
“Scared,” the girl clarified with a nod. “I think you have a crush on him, but you’re just not confessing to him ‘cause you’re afraid that he won’t like you back and things’ll get awkward!”
She repeated the lip-zipping motion. “Leave it for another day, yeah?” Internally, she was cursing Seoyeon’s name.
Was she that obvious?
+++
She walked into the house, immediately kicking off her shoes. She leaned against the door for a minute, sighing to herself. “I’m home!” she called.
Gunhak turned the corner, smiling a little. “Hey,” he said, looking over her exhausted figure. “I made dinner.”
She chuckled. “You mean you ordered pizza?”
He nodded. “In summary, yes.”
She made her way to the living room, giving him a grateful look as she breezed past. She sunk onto the couch with a groan.
Gunhak gave her a concerned look. “You know, you should really go to a chiropractor,” he said. “You’ve been sore for weeks now.”
She grunted, trying to sit up a little straighter. “Doctors cost money, Gukhak,” she said. “We’re already struggling enough. We certainly don’t need that bill added on top of all this crap.” She gestured to the bills laying out on the table, many of them labelled a blaring bright red of ‘overdue’.
He held his fist out. “We’re living the broke college dropout life,” he said.
She bumped his fist with her own. “You are, you mean,” she said, a chuckle rising in the back of her throat. “I’m employed, thank you very much.”
“Not happily,” he quipped.
She clicked her tongue. She hated it when he was right. “Fair enough,” she sighed. “Can you shut up now? I just wanna stuff my face with cheesy, carby goodness and forget all my worries and stress.” She grabbed a slice of still- steaming pizza from the open box.
She snatched the remote from the arm of the couch, her finger hovering over the power button. “I recorded the latest episode of that one drama,” she said. “Wanna watch?”
He chuckled. “Is that even a question?” He plopped down next to her, grabbing his own slice.
She nudged his side with her elbow. “Hey, scoot over,” she said. “You’re crushing me.”
He shook his head petulantly, leaning farther onto her. “Nope,” he said. “Not happening.”
“Why, though?” she groaned, pushing him harder. Why was he so freakin’ strong? “I’ve had a rough day, dude. Just back off.”
He took a bite and scoffed, a string of cheese hanging out of the corner of his lip. “It’s because you’ve had a rough day that I’m doing this,” he reasoned. “Human contact is important in these situations.”
She chuckled with a raised eyebrow. “You know,” she said, reaching her hand out to wipe the cheese from his mouth, “you’re really annoying.”
He smirked. “Maybe I’m trying to woo you,” he said, leaning their faces closer to each other.
She leaned an equal amount of inches away from him. “Don’t look at me like that, creep,” she huffed.
“Do you not like it when I look at you like this?”
She rolled her eyes. “It’s not a personal favorite, no,” she said. That was lie. Truth was, she liked it too much. It made her feel desirable, but because of that same thing, it also made her feel dumb.
She knew he didn’t feel the same way; it was just the way he was. “Don’t be an idiot,” she sighed, pinching his nose. Despite the tone of voice, she made no effort to push him away.
Sometimes... It was kind of nice to have him close.
+++
For once, she actually woke up to the sound of the alarm.
Usually, she would’ve pressed the snooze button a couple (thousand) times until she was struggling to get to work on time, but on this particular Friday... She felt awake enough to sit up in her creaky old bed, staring out the window.
The city was still coming alive, a glittering pool of lights being flicked on and cars making their commutes to work. Her eyes raked over the mist building up on the glass. It must’ve been chilly.
She kicked the sheets off and jumped out of bed, too lazy to bother making it.
She walked  down to the kitchen at a leisurely pace. Since she’d actually woken up on time today, she could take her time getting ready. She didn’t have to run down the stairs, slip on the rug or wolf down a piece of toast.
She could eat a proper breakfast for the first time in months. It was her own fault that she hadn’t, really. If she woke up on time, it would’ve been easily avoided.
As she turned the corner, her tired eyes bulged at the sight of a full plate of pancakes laid prettily out on the kitchen island. She walked towards it somewhat cautiously.
“Are you gonna explode?” she asked quietly. She waved her hand in its direction. No suspicious movement. “No? You’re safe?”
She let out a relieved sigh, immediately grabbing a fork from the drawer. “Thank God,” she said, enjoying the first fluffy bite. She melted on the spot, letting out a satisfied breath. “Not bad,” she mused. Her finger grazed against something thin and pliable. She looked down and moved her hand.
A note.
She took another bite of the pancakes before picking it up. The handwriting was immediately recognizable. She’d been dealing with it for the past three and a half months, scratched across random reminders that laid around the house.
Sometimes, neither of them knew what the random post-it notes meant. It’d say something like, ‘dog fur’ and the two of them would just be generally confused.
They’d found an old shoe-box—still thick with that distinctive ‘new shoes’ smell—that they decided to keep all the weird, scatterbrained reminders in. They always went to it for a laugh wondering, “Exactly what the hell were you thinking when you wrote this?”.
She scanned the note.
Mornin’, gorgeous roomie!
She rolled her eyes at the nickname. Only Kim Gunhak.
Sorry I wasn’t here. I actually have a job interview today! It was supposed to be a surprise, but I guess you were gonna find out at some point, so it might as well be now. Since I know you’re a total retard when it comes to cooking, I made the most delicious pancakes for you, as I’m sure you’re eating right now. You can thank me when I get back. I take all forms of payment, so just prepare accordingly. Strip-teases are acceptable and preferred, but not necessary. -Gunhak
She set the note down, chuckling at it. Since he wasn’t there, she didn’t feel quite so embarrassed.
Her mind wandered back to the relaxed pizza and movie night she’d had with him few weeks ago. “You know...” she said out loud, a smile spreading slowly across her lips. “You’re kinda growing on me, Kim Gunhak.”
That was another lie.
He’d already grown on her.
+++
The moment she walked into the boringly familiar building, Seoyeon sipped over to her with the brightest, most excited expression she’d ever seen her waiting.
The girl giggled. “Oh, boy, do I have some news for you, Miss Senior!” she said, clapping her hands together giddily.
She raised an amused brow. “Oh?” she walked on towards her office, adjusting her suit-jacket along the way. “Do tell.”
“You know that new employee you’re training this week?”
She sighed heavily. “No,” she said, “but I’m guessing the big boss is being a senile asshole again and assuming I know, so we’ll just lie and say that I do.”
Seoyeon nodded. “Fair enough,” she agreed. Her excitement immediately rekindled itself. “But, anyway! He’s my new neighbor in the cubicles,” she cooed.
“Lemme guess,” she interjected. “By your standards, he’s super hot.” The two turned the corner, reaching their work-spaces. Everything was exactly the same as usual except... Cleaner. That when she noticed the quiet shuffling off to the side.
She could make out a head of dark hair, but not much else.
Seoyeon nudged her side mischievously. “Judge it for yourself,” she said with a wink. She walked over with a charming smile. “Hi! I’m Seo Seoyeon. A syllable so nice, you say it twice” The girl gave a polite bow. “You’re Kim Youngjo, right?”
“Yes, that’s me,” she heard him say. “Nice to meet you.” He sounded friendly enough. He had a sort of baritone, raspy tone. If she was a little more like Seoyeon, she might describe it as husky or sexy.
But then again, she wasn’t Seoyeon with the syllables so nice, you say them twice, so she stuck with baritone and raspy. Maybe a little taut, but she was sure he was just nervous. First day of work, and all.
She walked closer to the two, taking a deep breath beforehand. She was irritated at her boss, but she was afraid she might take it out on the new recruit.
Seoyeon wasn’t wrong about him being handsome. He had a unique look, but he wasn’t at all unattractive. He had dark hair, almond eyes, a full bottom lip and a nose with a defined slope, but not too much as to be protruding.
He looked somewhat familiar, but she couldn’t place where from.
She gave him a bow. “Hello,” she said, putting on a polite smile. “You’re Kim Youngjo?”
He nodded in her direction. She could see him swallow hard. “I know who you are, too,” he said, hurriedly straightening his tie. He bowed as well. “It’s nice to meet you, Miss Instructor.”
She chuckled at him. “First, Miss Senior, then Miss Instructor,” she joked. “Next thing you know, I’ll be called Miss Coffee Stain!”
Youngjo laughed a little. The humor, no matter how dumb, seemed to make him less tense. “Thanks for that,” he said.
She gave him a playfully secretive wink. “Thanks for what?” she asked.
He played along with a small smile. “Absolutely nothing, ma’am,” he said. “Nothing at all.”
“Good,” she said. She set her papers down on her desk. “If you want to come with me, I’ll show you around the facilities.” She gestured for him to follow her. “Don’t be too nervous,” she told him. “I’ll go easy on you and only show to first six floors.”
His eyes bulged. “There’s more than 6—?” He caught the playful glimmer in her eyes. “You wee kidding, weren’t you?” he realized.
She nodded. “I was. Still, I’ll show you around what we do have,” she said. “We may be a comparatively small company, but we do have a pretty incredible break room. The espresso machine’s only broken about three times a month. Big step up from its previous streak of five.”
With all of her lighthearted joking, he wasn’t as scared by the end of the tour. Much more relaxed. He even made a joke or two himself, and he was really sweet when she thanked him for cleaning her office.
Still, it nagged at her the whole day why she couldn’t remember where she’d seen his face before.
+++
She peeked her head in through Gunhak’s bedroom door. Sure, she was a little later than usual, but the lights were still on, so he must’ve still been awake. Either that, or he fell asleep with them on again.
She’d started to get into a habit of turning his lights off for him late at night.
“Gunhak?” she called softly. “You up?” The only reason she knew he was still alive was by the grunt she heard from under the mess of covers he called a bed. “Job interview—?”
“Badly,” he interrupted, holding up a hand to silence her. His back was facing her, so she didn’t know for sure what his expression was. She just assumed it wasn’t any good. “It went badly,” he repeated, dropping his hand with an audible flop.
Gingerly, she walked a little farther into the room. “Did they specifically tell you that you didn’t get the job?” she asked.
“No,” he huffed. He flipped onto his back, a sulky expression glued to his face. “But it was one of those ‘read-in-between-the-lines’ things. You could see it in their eyes.” He covered his face with his forearms. “Disappointed, as usual.”
She sat down next to him on the bed, the mattress dipping down a little. “It’s not your fault, you know,” she whispered, trying her best to sound comforting, even though she was awkward with it. “You just haven’t found what you’re passionate about yet.”
“Well, then, I should get off my ass and find it!” Gunhak snapped, sitting up straight and shocking her. “In the mean time, I’m just sitting here, putting countless burdens on you!”
He frowned. He looked less angry, more sad. “It’s not like we’re rolling in cash, y’know? I just... I want to help, but I have no skills.” He pulled his knees to his chest. “I’m actually losing a lot of faith in myself these days...”
She’d never seen him in this way before. Never so vulnerable and open with her. Never so sad and discouraged. He looked truly like a young man fighting tooth and nail to face his troubles.
Gently, she reached out and rubbed his back. He was so tense. “Well, for what it’s worth,” she started, “I’m proud of you. You’re trying, and that’s half the battle.” She gave a small smile. “Thanks for trying.”
He was still frowning.
“Oh, come on,” she groaned exaggeratedly. “What do I have to do to get you up and about? Give you a kiss?”
His ears perked up. “That might work.”
She flicked his forehead. “That was clearly a joke.”
“Well, you shouldn’t joke about things like that,” he said, gripping her wrist. He leaned forward until they were inches apart. “You made me get excited for a minute there.”
Her breath hitched in her throat. “Wow,” she said, swallowing hard. Surprising herself, she kept her composure. “I can’t believe you just said that out loud.” She pulled her wrists away and stood up. “Allow me to go die of embarrassment now.”
He laughed. “Your face is so red!” he chuckled. He looked up at her. “Something I said?”
She rolled her eyes. “Loser,” she huffed, turning to walk out of the room.
“Hey!” he laughed, jumping up from the bed. He rushed in front of her before she could leave. “Just a second ago, you said you were proud!”
His smile was infectious, spreading to her own lips unintentionally. “Get out of my way,” she said, shoving him playfully.
He let her move just a little farther away before he lunged at her.
She screamed and dodged out of the way. “Stop it!” she screeched, but she couldn’t deny the laughter that was rising in her throat. She ran down the hall and down the stairs, Gunhak chasing close behind her.
Sure, it wasn’t the safest thing, but it sure was fun.
They ran around the kitchen table a few times, they weaved in and out of the laundry room, and they threw themselves over the couch once or twice, but in the end, they were left in the living room, trapped in a sweaty, giggly hug.
“You know,” Gunhak started, “I think this is the first time we’ve actually hugged.”
She nodded. “Oh, for sure,” she agreed. “It totally is.” Under normal circumstances, this would’ve made her anxious, but she felt too happy and pumped up to care too much.
That is, until Gunhak pulled them both down to the couch, making sure she was leaning into his side. It was such a comfortable position, like it was made just for the two of them, but it set her into overdrive.
With tinted cheeks, she tried to pull away.
Every time she got two inches away, he pulled her back down. “Just chill for minute,” he laughed. “I’ve already ranted to you about my crappy day, so now you’ve gotta tell me about your, you industrialist.”
She sighed in defeat, going lip in his arms and just trying not to let him see how flustered she was. “Wrong terminology,” she said. “Industrialists have to do with company ownership.”
He rolled his eyes. “Oh, come on,” he groaned. “We both know that company would’ve been brutally murdered by now if it wasn’t for you.” He hummed thoughtfully. “Or maybe it would commit suicide.”
She snorted. “You’re an idiot,” she said. “Who thinks about stuff like that?”
“Handsome roommates, apparently,” he quipped. He smacked her side playfully. “Now, no more stalling! How was your day?” He settled comfortably back into the cushions, closing his eyes as if he might fall asleep there.
She rapped her fingers against her thigh, trying to think of anything important. “Oh! There’s a newbie I’m training at work,” she said. “He’s pretty nice.”
“Oh, yeah?” Seemingly unconsciously, he trailed his fingers up and down her arm, sending sparks shooting through her veins. “What’s his name?”
Her mind felt scrambled. “It’s...” She couldn’t pick his name out exactly, cursing herself internally. “Youngjo, something,” she sighed. “I’m sorry, I can’t remember.”
He shrugged. “Whatever, it’s not a big deal. You sure it’s Youngjo, though?”
She thought hard for a moment. “Yeah, I’m pretty sure,” she finally said. “It really pissed me off, because I feel like I’ve seen him before, but I can’t remember where from. I remember thinking his name was really unique, though.”
He hummed thoughtfully. “It is.”
“Why do you ask?”
He flicked her arm. “No reason.”
“Dude!” She pinched him back, pushing herself up. “That hurt!”
He laughed. “And that hurt me! So, we’re even.”
She laughed along with him, doubling over a little bit. She looked up at him. He was always so free when he was laughing. The way his eyes crinkled and the corner of his lips up-turned so slightly. He looked a lot younger when he was laughing.
That was probably one of the things she fell in love with.
She shook her head, realizing that she must’ve been staring. She cleared her throat and stood up. “Well... Night, dude,” she said, giving a small wave. She felt a rush of embarrassment run through her veins, but she chose to ignore it.
He smiled at her. “Night, workaholic,” he said.
She rolled her eyes playfully. “Yeah, yeah,” she drawled. Something yellow caught the corner of the eye. She turned to it, realization dawning on her. It was another one of Gunhak’s post-it notes. “Hey, Gunhak,” she said, peeling it off the wall, “I found another one.”
“Say anything important?” he asked, reaching for the TV remote.
She shrugged. “Pretty,” she said. “It’s just says ‘pretty’.”
He paused for a moment. “Nope,” he said. “Nothing important.”
+++
Seoyeon sighed dreamily as she eyed up Youngjo from the back. “Wow,” she said, sighing in a smitten way. “I love how you just insert that paper right into that printer. Like... Wow. That’s a real man right there.”
Youngjo laughed awkwardly, almost dropping his stack of papers. “Well... Um,” he cleared his throat. “I don’t... Really know how to—”
He was interrupted by the sound of a smack.
“That’s sexual harassment, kid.”
He recognized that voice. He whipped around, his shoulders sagging in relief when he saw his supervisor. “Miss Senior,” he breathed out. “It’s so good to see you.”
She gave a small laugh. “I bet,” she said. She turned her attention back to Seoyeon. “Can you not be so creepy?” she asked. “He’s worked here a full three weeks and you’ve just gotta progressively weirder.”
Seoyeon smiled innocently. “I don’t know what you mean, ma’am,” she said.
She rolled her eyes playfully. “Yeah, yeah.” She stared shooing her off. “Now get back to work. And don’t call me ‘ma’am’! I’m not old enough for that yet!” She sighed once the young girl was was out of ear-shot.
She turned to Youngjo. “Hey,” she said, “I’m sorry about that. She’s a little...” She searched for the right words, but she decided to throw it out of the window. There was no saving that with sugar-coating. “She’s boy hungry,” she said with a shrug.
He choked on his spit, coughing a little.
“But really,” she continued, “you should see it as a compliment, ‘cause she only does that towards guys she thinks are really handsome.”
He raised an eyebrow. “That’s... unique,” he settled on. He shifted his weight. “I actually think it’s kind of flattering,” he admitted. She gave him a look. “No one’s ever been that forward with me before.”
His cheeks were heating up a little, but he tried to keep a cool appearance. “That’s one of the main reasons I was wondering if I could talk to for a little bit.” His throat went a little dry. “I’d like to ask her out on a date, but I don’t know how to do it,” he said firmly. “I figured you’d have some ideas.”
She stared at him with her jaw dropped. “I don’t usually like to be this casual in the workplace,” she said, “but dude!” She started laughing. “She’s crazy about you! Well, your face, at least. Just ask her!”
“Well, that’s the thing,” he said. “I don’t want her to just be into my face. I’d like her to be into me personality-wise, too. You see, I like her personalty. She seems funny, deceptively perceptive and she knows what she wants.” He chuckled. “She’s cool.”
She felt a smile spreading across her face, almost motherly. “You want me to try and wing-man you?” she asked.
Finally, the cool facade shattered a little. “I... Well,” he stuttered. “You’re right. Totally inappropriate.” He tittered nervously. “Especially for the workplace.” He started gathering his papers. “I never should’ve—”
“I didn’t say I wouldn’t help you,” she interrupted, making him freeze. “I don’t think I’ll be much help to you since all of my previous relationship have ended in fiery emotional terror, but my roommate might be able to help you out. He’s real smooth with the ladies.”
Youngjo seemed intrigued. “Really?” he asked.
She nodded. “Really,” she said.
“What’s his name?”
She tried to stop herself from smiling, but it happened, whether she wanted it to or not. “Gunhak,” she said. “His name is Gunhak.”
Youngjo’s eyes widened. “Wait. Kim Gunhak?” he asked.
Her brows furrowed. “Yeah. He’s really smooth with girls, he’s a master flirt, but he also knows how to make you comfortable. You know him?”
“Oh my gosh!” he gasped, almost dropping his stack of paper. “You’re the roommate he’s been yammering about for three months!”
She laughed disbelievingly. “I must be!”
He had a look on his face like ‘what a small world’. “Life is incredible,” he finally said. “Why’d you describe him like that, though?”
She looked confused for a moment. “Because that’s how he... is?” she said.
“You’re kidding,” he laughed.
She shook her head slowly. “I’m not, actually.”
“No way!” he said. “Anyone who knows Gunhak knows that he’s kinda quiet and awkward, but still cool. Kinda why he does so badly in job interviews.” He shrugged. “He’s a nice guy, though. One of my best friends.”
She crossed her arms, almost pouting. She remembered she was at work, refraining from it. “He’s not like that at home at all,” she said. “He’s annoying, he likes to tease me...” she trailed off. “But he’s also really cool and nice, like you said. He’s done some really good things, but some really weird ones, too.”
Youngjo smiled knowingly. “I think I get it,” he said.
“Get what?” she asked, tilting her head to the side.
He gathered his papers again. “He likes you, Miss Senior.”
+++
“Gunhak!” she called when she unlocked the door. She had no patience. What Youngjo had said had eaten at her the entire day.
‘He likes you, Miss Senior.’
She thought that was insane. They must’ve known different Gunhaks.
She locked the door behind her, dropping her purse and shoes in the hall. She didn’t have time to take putting them away. “Gunhak!” she called again, louder. Something pale yellow caught her eye.
She walked up to the post-it note, stuck to archway into the kitchen.
Yo, it’s Gunhak.
Did he go out? Was it Wednesday? Wednesday was grocery shopping on the chores list.
Youngjo called me while you were at work... Guess that I’m where you recognized him from.
Her heart beat erratically. So they did know the same Gunhak.
I’m upstairs if you need me. I really think we should talk. P.S. Bring your notepad. I’m feeling kinda shy and awkward right now.
She immediately dived for her purse, taking out her notebook and a pen. She could feel sweat beading on her forehead, as well as nervousness in her chest, but she pushed it away. She sprinted up the stairs, trying her hardest not to trip.
When she got to the top, she turned the corner into Gunhak’s room, panting a little.
He was laying on his bed with earbuds in, but he saw her. He quickly paused his music and sat up with widened eyes.
She opened her mouth, about to say something, but he put a finger to his lips, shushing her. She looked confused until he grabbed his pad of post-it notes.
He pulled out his earbuds, focusing on what he was writing. When he was done scribbling it down, he held up the small, muted-yellow pad.
He told you I like you?
She was about to answer out loud, but then she remembered the notebook in her hands. She uncapped her pen, quickly scratching down a reply.
Yeah, but don’t worry. I didn’t believe him.
He looked a little hurt.
Why didn’t you believe him?
She couldn’t think of anything meaningful to write down. The silence was too deafening to her. Her pen clumsily glided across the paper.
Just ‘cause.
He sighed, immediately preparing his wrist for a long stint of writing.
Why didn’t you believe him? That’s a little dumb, don’t you think?
She knew what this was. This is what he was like when he was venting. Writing down literally anything that came down to his mind. He was like a lyricist in that way. But for whatever reason, this sounded a little different. More desperate.
I’ve been trying to get you to realize that I’ve liked you for the longest time. What do you think all those random written compliments were? About dog memes?
She laughed at that.
I like you so much that it’s annoying.
Her heart skipped a beat.
I like you so much that I wake up early to make you pancakes. I like you so much that I play with your hair and hope you think I don’t notice. I like you so much that I didn’t want to lose you and you make me terrified, so I act like some tough guy and I was just trying to let you figure it out for yourself.
He hesitated writing the next note, but he pushed himself through it.
I like you so much.
She almost gasped, but she stopped herself. Instead, she uncapped her pen again.
Screw you, Kim Gunhak.
His eyes widened.
I wanted to confess to you first. I’ve been stressing about it for months. So hard, in fact, I decided against it, actually.
He stood up from the bed immediately, something foreign shining in his surprising pretty eyes. Had they ever looked so pretty before? He wrote something down very carefully, but he kept it hidden until he stood right in front of her.
He handed it to her rather shyly, like a cute kid from a kindergarten offering his first letter to a girl.
She took it from his hands, reading over it carefully. To be honest though, there wasn’t much to read. Just a simple question.
Kiss: Yes or No?
She felt an embarrassed giggle raise in her chest, but she shoved it back down, settling for a smile, completely with reddened cheeks. She spent a second or two with the paper before handing it back to him.
The ‘Yes’ had been circled with a cutely doodled sunshine.
He smiled at it. Started to, st least.
His smile was interrupted by her lips, pressing against his ever so gently. He stood there, shocked and eyes wide.
She laughed softly. “You okay?” she asked, the first spoken word in the room.
He walked even closer to her. She would’ve thought he’d regained his composure if it hadn’t been for the faint pinkness on his cheeks. “Well, then,” he started, “you should’ve kissed better. It didn’t have the right feeling.”
She rolled her eyes playfully, crossing her arms. “And what’s this infamous ‘feeling’ supposed to be like?” she asked.
He took a deep breath, face still a little red. “Kinda like this,” he said, gripped her waist gently but firmly. He leaned forward until their lips touched. He didn’t waste much time with just brushing them against each other.
He was decisive. He knew what they both wanted.
They wanted assurance.
She gingerly wrapped her arms around his front. Her fingers laid flat across his back, spreading out like fireworks. It sent electric sparks down his spine, making him lean in further.
He was right. This was much better than what she had provided before.
His force was palpable, but never ever bruising. It was almost like a tease, as if he was telling her that he had more to offer. Every kiss left her wanting more, but gave her such a warm feeling in her chest that she hadn’t felt in years.
She couldn’t help but smile into the kisses.
Gunhak chuckled, pulling away. “What’re you smiling for, gorgeous roommate?” he asked, rubbing her side gently.
“Because, hot roommate,” she started, making him smile wider, “I was fully prepared to jump straight into bed with you, but now that I’ve realized that I love you...” She pulled him into a hug, physically melting into it. “I kinda wanna get dinner with you. I want to go on dates with you, have cheesy anniversaries and movie nights and just take things slow.”
She nuzzled into his shoulder. “You kind of feel like forever material,” she mumbled. “It’s weird.”
A deep chuckle rumbled in his chest. “True love, maybe?” he said cheekily, hugging her close. They started rocking back and forth together naturally, like it was meant to be that way.
She pinched his arm. “Don’t get ahead of yourself,” she teased. She paused for a moment.
“What’s up?” he asked, hesitantly resting his chin on the top of her head, as if testing the proverbial waters.
She shook her head. “Nothing,” she said. “I’m just happy.”

(There is a disappointing lack of Gunhak gifs, and I request a revolution.)
Hey, Cheya ( @shizziebo! ) Finally, I finished it. You know, I had actually finished this a while ago, but I rewrote it because I realized that I wrote it way too seriously for the concept. 0.0 Like, seriously. This is a fun concept and I made it lowkey dark. But anyway! I fixed it.
I hope you enjoyed it!

Oneus Twilight full comeback review
When I say full comeback review it’s because it’s a FULL comeback review. From the concept films to the Japanese verison, were gonna cover a lot so get a cup of something to drink cause this will be hella long aka Bible (I’m a nice person I’m telling you this beforehand).(You should do a Youtube video review then… nya… BORING)
So let’s begin. This is not the first time I follow a group comeback in real time… You know… Checking everyday the performances, so I kinda know how it works. We have gone through a lot of stuff… KARD You in Me, GFriend Fingertip, Red Velvet Peak a Boo, Dreamcacther as whole, BTS Fake Love, F(x) Dracula, BTS Wings album as a whole and last but far from least BTS Blood Sweat and Tears. I wouldn’t call some of them dark concept, I also wouldn’t call some of the sexy concept. By these examples you can see I have my standards pretty high. I’m that annoying perfectionist old uncle and declare myself guilty. For years Blood Sweat and Tears was the top song for me. (I’m a sane person ok… That doesn’t mean I listen to it 24/7). The MV had very beautiful aesthetics and I liked the lyrics and the song. Clothes were cool and the coreography too. F(x) Dracula would come in second and I never thought something could also join these two. Until… It happened. I knew RBW was releasing a new group but I just waited. Turns out I found out the group some months later then the actual debut. Oneus debuted with Valkyrie. The way they changed the coreography every stage, the amazing fashion sense, song was good quality. They had vocal thecnique, they had dancing it caught my attention and Valkyrie was straight to my playlist. Then… it happened. The group’s first comeback. I don’t know how, when or even who am I but I found out about the comeback EXACTLY AT THE RIGHT TIME (Technically not because I was 16 hours late). I know you know we know, we are not going retro like 80’s or 90’s. We are not going retro like acient Corea like BTS Idol. We are going retro 1500/1700 not Japan, not China, not Corea, EUROPE. Welcome to the renaissance. The MV was shot in Italy, the amazing fashion sense strikes again (I swear to God stylist min is communicating with me), the song, the lyrics, the coreography, the cool colored camera filters, I need to mention the vocal technique again, the rest of the album being consistently good (BingBing), I dare say nothing is perfect… But man… This gets 99,99% of what I call perfection. It’s a shame they didn’t win any music show… Because they are a newer group and still don’t have a large fandom? WHO CARES. Let me tell you something BTS sucess should have been in 2017 Wings… The high point of their artistity…  Ateez was also a newer group AND THEY DID WIN. I give congratulations to them but Oneus needed to win and it had to be with Twilight nothing changes my mind. (Don’t come to me saying we can give them their win next comeback, it won’t do it) This type of thing only happens once in a lifetime, why? Repeat and it gets boring, they can do the same concept again but it won’t be the same, same for BTS wings. It’s not about quantity is quality. Veiws never mattered to me and now I can say with all my mighty that wins do not make art. (I was never a fan of streaming but you count my ass off this mess cause YES I did some small streaming of the MV, I did my homework) (Take in account they did this comeback with BLOOD IN THEIR EYES) (Please give Dreamcather and KARD their first win too. Did you know that with You and I Dreamcatcher also had comeback with blood in their eyes??). Let’s start with the song name… Twilight. Remember 2009 movie sensation Twilight? Yup that’s it… I know you know we know, we are going deep in the vampire/ werewolf style in here and why I said I know you know we know? Xion posted about it on Twitter…
Tumblr media
THEY ARE AWARE therefore I know you know we know. JUST IMAGINE THEIR LIGHTSTICK AND FANDOM COLOR AND END OF YEAR PERFORMANCES. CHECK OUT ONEWE TOO.(I took the liberty of making a playlist with extra post promotion content (with English sub) - cause I know you all love content - linked below, you don’t need to thank me, not I’m not putting english girl, focus on Twilight)
https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLTiTzw8HrCfxRiB1DyD77ktE9UQm6sBeQ
Just in case you haven’t watched this beautiful MV here it is.
youtube
Song, yes. Lyrics, yes, coreo yes, key point of coreo YES, Keonhee vocals YES (I trust this legend vocal thecnique more then I trust myself). Aesthetics? YES. Italy? I need to sneakly and illegally go there RIGHT NOW. This is a whole YES. ( Sir... If you think I haven't noticed the moon changed from previous album you are wrong cause I noticed. Sir are your albums going to complete the moon please say yes... Also... Have you noticed Woongie used the wet hair effect? + his brown eyeshadow is stunning.
Also line and center distribution is on the playlist for in deepth study... Twilight is basically Seoho eating up all the line AND center distribution and detail... the only thing he does is SING THE CHORUS. Also thanks Keone Madrid for making this coreo for Oneus (he also did BTS Blood Sweat and Tears -  DO YOU SEE THE PATTERN). Also rumors that Oneus actually created about 40-50% of the coreo so also thank you Oneus hehe.
Bitch it's me we are taking about do you really think I would miss a possible plotline?? Xion is with a red diamond and later he breaks it into dust (I'm scared). Keonhee is with a ring. Ravn is looking at his own reflection in the water and Seoho is looking at his own reflection through a broken mirror. Woongie is with a necklace. I guess the high point in Leedo's individual shots is the wolf (question mark)... Woongie and Keonhee are the only members that change the eye color. Seoho and Woongie are the only members that simulate super powers (question mark). Summary they all lost someone.... Silence is also a way of communication... I'm not a huge fan of theories or the fanfics I know ya'll write later in wattpad but fell yourself served, you're welcome, no need to thank me.
Now some highlights.
Tumblr media
Ok this goes straight up to the hall of iconic earnings… (Man... But his walk was so POWERFUL)
Tumblr media
How ASIA did not notice two SKULLS in here and how they are not SHOCK??? The ring is small… BUT POWERFUL.
Tumblr media
Question time, if they had money to do the CGI then why didn’t they erase this little hairs in Leedo’s eyebrow?????? We’ll never know...
MV behind (english sub cause I love you all ~~ plays english girl in reverse in the background ~~)
youtube
Humanity mystery here. They recorded a version of the coreography when the sun was actually falling down in real life and we see those scenes in the MV. But if the whole staff was SHOCK about the key part of the coreography being extremely perfect and beautiful then why not use it on the MV? Sure the version they used outdoors was pretty too but this was ALSO awesome and I think I need as many version of the MV as I can.
Album review
Tumblr media
Of course I would listen to the whole album.
Intro - What can I say... it fells so chill out, kinda minimalistic I just loved it. Twilight - Just amazing... I liked the dumbstep, the music is confusing witch I find extreamly cool. English Girl - Let em tell you not my type of song... but the lyrics are extreamly funny and relatable... so I forgive (I’m waiting crazy ho now Oneus, do not disappoint me) BingBing- YOU DON'T FREAKING START A SONG IN FRENCH IF NOT AIMING FOR TITTLE TRACK LEVEL. Ok and can we talk about the coreography???? BEAUTIFUL and I want to know the mastermind behind it. I just don't know why this was not above English Girl on the tracklist... White Night - Ok a more slow song but as always Oneus always delivers. (low key Red Thread sequel??) Now - This gives me Calvin Harris vibes. More dance eletronic standard pop but it's good...
PACKING-
Look... the CD case is very unique but think about it... if you take your album from above there is a risk everything wil fall... (1theK unboxing on the playlist, cause they were the cover for 1theK youtube chanel so 1thek is Oneus bitch)
Tumblr media
1theK Suit dance and Dance cover contest
youtube
youtube
Please give Seoho something that WILL NOT FALL FROM HIS SHOULDERS cause clothes are made to be comfortable. What is the point to take off the jackets when the night is COLDER??? (Wait.. let me answer that one… cause you can’t see black in black… I get it… BUT REGARDLESS) one of the mysteries we’ll never know. (Poor ties must have suffered a lot in the middle of the harnesses)
Now before we jump into the important stuff let me tell you a secret… Keonhee is the most difficult member to dress… why? He’s 1,81 cm tall… anything you give him to wear can make him look even taller and his face is more projected (did you know he uses braces?) so you really need to pay attention to his hair. We’ll use this information latter.
So the first performance ever was… Guess what… Before the MV was released and where? JAPAN (My half japanese ass is shaking). So people there kinda received a spoiler (clothes too) and Mnet uploaded it in the same day of the MV release so other people that weren’t at the kcon wouldn’t receive a spoiler. No complains here except Ravn chocker being TOO BIG and Keonhee clothes making him look taller. (Nice expensive microphones you got in here)
Tumblr media
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VaxWHKRm9xo
Now the actual comeback in Corea begins. (Images cause tumblr won’t let me upload the videos) (I’ll upload the links below the image) (No… before you ask I’m not uploading english girl, too much work… focus on twilight) ( As I spoiled above English girl was the chosen B side. Look... I know it's us international fans unofficial anthem but c'mon... BING BING) (I know I'll miss camerawork in here but I'll eventually get the hang of it) (Don't ask me about make up cause unfortunately I don't have 4k 360° to get THAT close up. But from other close up photos I trust their make up artist)
WEEK 1
31/05/19
Tumblr media
https://youtu.be/qe2p_nKZ7uo
First choice was the ACDC Black in Black 1.0 clothing set from the MV, Keonhee clothes making him look taller as usual… Pretty clothes but… YELLOW LIGHTS??? with red?? is this ketchup and mustard? The lighting did not appeal to me and shout out to the physics mystery.
Tumblr media
2:03 (Time stamp cause I love you all) HOW ON EARTH DID HIS EARPIECE END UP THERE? I guess we’ll never know.
01/06/19
Tumblr media
https://youtu.be/adhuo5pMVbw
Keonhee clothes making him look taller as usual… but oh his hair was NICE… Fight me I’m the last person in the world to advocate in favor of coconut hair but it looks nice on him. No yellow lights so it’s a win situation, I like to call this the GLOVES set of the MV.
02/06/19
Tumblr media
https://youtu.be/j7DhdicaV9I
Kudos for the physical scenario and Woongie earings (same as the MV). Keonhee clothes making him look taller as usual… no yellow lights… and this comeplete all the clothes they wore in the MV. Please… save Leedo from his chocker… too large.
04/06/19
Tumblr media
https://youtu.be/Rl1f0vSxP14
THE SUITS a whole YES. Keonhee clothes were good but we got yellow in here and this is a NO, Woongie coconut hair was also a no but Seoho red highlights? YES. Also… Woongie… the harnesses should go UNDER the jacket not ABOVE it…
05/06/19
Tumblr media
https://youtu.be/xmLNWuAyc9Q
Repeating clothes… but this doesn’t bother me. Ketchup and mustard lights is a no. Woongie earing yes and in case you haven’t noticed Seoho gold huge ass rings… blame the yellow lights. Keonhee hair was actually nice.
06/06/19
Tumblr media
https://youtu.be/LcRe_SUL7Ok
Physical scenario yes, yellow lights no, clothing NO, Seoho huge ass rings YES. That’s the summary.
07/06/19 v1
Tumblr media
https://youtu.be/hlrKa9b_P60
Uniforms? Approved, Leedo earing approved, Physical scenario approved. Orange? NO. Keonhee harmonizing with himself 1.0? YES
07/06/19 v2
Tumblr media
https://youtu.be/3bI3GY4nALE
So… they blessed Japan with that set of clothes now it’s Corea time. Ketchup and mustard lights is a no. No earings or rings today… but  Keonhee harmonizing with himself 2.0? YES
08/06/19
Tumblr media
https://youtu.be/0K1bhbuvYYU
You know what this SMELLS like? PERFECTION. Purple, black and red the holly trinity of colors. Keonhee clothes finally making justice to him, his hair was also nice. A LOT of light in the scenario to get THAT CLEAR LOOK cause I want to SEE things. Not a single yellow light… Woongie earings? YES. Please save Ravn from his chocker. Seoho dear… what is the point of wearing a black waistcoat… WITH A BLACK SHIRT? (But it’s approved regardless).
09/06/19
Tumblr media
https://youtu.be/kf_C_GaCeGA
I present you Michael Jackson Black or White 1.0 clothing set. Woongie earing? YES. The light was a bit tricky. Chorus was beautifully black and white. We also had blue/green. In the red one we had yellow lights but it didn’t bother me at all. Overall it’s approved to me.
WEEK 2
11/06/19
Tumblr media
https://youtu.be/eQcu7UH3354
They repeated clothes, but it didn’t bother me. Seoho rings? YES. No yellow lights. This is also super good and I can’t choose between the two times they wore this clothes.
12/06/19
Tumblr media
https://youtu.be/DdI37HMWAJk
They repeated Michael Jackson Black or White 1.0 set. Ketchup and mustard? Purple? Lighting was a no. Seoho ring was a yes.
13/06/19
Tumblr media
https://youtu.be/hBGhwPXRVec
New clothes yay. Keonhee hair and clothes were nice, I don’t know what to think about this set of clothes because I was never a fan of prints or this variations of cream and brown. The way the lights were positioned was tricky but the small amout of yellow lights didn’t bother me at all. No rings or earings today unfortunately.
14/06/19 v1
Tumblr media
https://youtu.be/8jyzbTMMUgw
Clothes were repeated witch is a no. Do not think that instead of wearing silver or gold wearing black jewelry will make me forgive the clothes. No rings or earings today unfortunately. Ketchup and mustard lights is also a no. Keonhee clothes making him look taller as usual… This whole performance was a whole no.
14/06/19 v2
Tumblr media
https://youtu.be/7fIFwRPK9tk
I present you Michael Jackson Black or White 2.0 set. IT’S HIGH END JEWELRY YOU WANT? IT’S HIGH END JEWELRY YOU’LL GET. Seoho rings (in both hands), Woongie earings, Keonhee double necklace, Leedo earings and TRIPLE necklace, do you know how powerful you have to be to use a triple necklace? The only things that killed it were the hand microphones and the yellow lights…
14/06/2019… I will never forget this day… How do they DARE to arrive at the recording… like THIS?
Tumblr media
and when it’s performance time they step down the clothing? Well the clothes they were using ARE pretty but the ones they arrived? STUNNING ( aka ACDC Black in Black 2.0). Stylist min there are occasions you need to save the outfit to use… just arriving at the recording with those clothes is a waste of fashion. It could easily replace one of the times you repeated clothes. (I may say make up and contact lenses were on point too)
15/06/19
Tumblr media
https://youtu.be/4LticXTZC8U
(Thank you music core for the low definition)
Yay new clothes, the hairs and clothes look SO FLUFFY. Seoho rings yes, Woongie earings yes, Leedo rings YES, lighting was good, no complains here.
16/06/19
Tumblr media
https://youtu.be/z1A7pgFJMVE
First of all I’m really mad because they cutted the song. Second I’m really mad because they didn’t upload on YouTube. It’s seems like this is was pre calculated beucase it was EXACTLY WHEN THEY CHANGED THE COREOGRAPHY. I don’t know if they changed because they knew the song would be cut or if it was really a coincidence… humanity mistery again. Lighting was so beautiful until they came with the yellow… Woongie hair was so fluffy and earings was a yes. Clothes were Michael Jackson Black or White 3.0 and that’s it… That day I learned my lesson… you either are team rings or team gloves… there is no in between.
WEEK 3
18/06/19
Tumblr media
https://youtu.be/xGnQRWIejOc
They repeated Michael Jackson Black or White 2.0 set. Yellow lights? This is a no.
19/06/19

Ketchup and mustard lights? No. Seoho rings, YES. Woongie earing? YES. Shout out Ravn looks super good and Leedo chocker was middle term. SKIPPED
23/06/19
Tumblr media
https://youtu.be/dBDRVdC9ntQ
(I’m so sorry for the low definition here)
Same old story. I’m mad they cutted the song, didn’t upload on youtube and exactly when they changed the coreography. On the other side we have new clothes yay. It’s not only black and gold powerful match. It’s black and gold with snake print cause I’m a bad bitch. It’s the only place where they NEEDED to use the yellow lights and I’m actually mad they used black and white. Someone save Seoho from his chocker. Color scheme was great but it’s not like the clothes desing are bad. I just feel it could have been better. We didn’t have earings or rings today BUT HEY, FANSING, BING BING HAS A COREO AND ITS AWSOME. 23/06/19 will be in my heart (even though it was just a sneak peak).
4 WEEKS BICTHES
Ya’ll misbelievers will hear this song untill your ears BLEED
25/06/19
Tumblr media
https://youtu.be/rg_x8oKwibs
Woongie you really fooled me here I was scared. He only did the fingerheart cause it was their last performace at that specific program. Repeating clothes… Lighting was good, no earings or rings… Well really tricky. I don’t see roots so you all did a touch up on the hairs and Woongie got a little bit blonder… I don’t like it, it don’t think the color suits him. Keonhee hair got a little darker but no problems… That’s it.
26/06/19
Tumblr media
https://youtu.be/dMUSRroP1K0
Repeated the new year eve set. Seoho had to repeat the clothes for me to understand the clothes. Seoho ring yes, Woongie earing yes. Lighting was huge no, all crazy combinations like blue and yellow and purple and etc. But in the ending even though it was yellow the lighting was pretty.
Tumblr media
27/06/19 ~~FINALE~~
Tumblr media
https://youtu.be/TfEpkKwGQuA
We going Marilyn Monroe Woongie? His earings as always YES, Lithing... well… very tricky since we almost couldn’t see it but it didn’t look promissing. White and cream with black look more promissing then grey with black and red and purple… but not my favorite clothes, they have better weapons… Well… that’s it.
I wish they would go the whole week but they didn’t…
SUPRISE BITCH, YOU THINK 27/06/19 WAS OVER? THINK AGAIN
Oneus first photobook in Milano was announced. I won’t go into detail cause this is not the goal here... but we get it... YOU WEREN’T JOKING AROUND IN ITALY. Usually it takes a lot of time for a group to come up with a photobook so I’m proud and that was pretty smartass way to finish promotions if I may say...
Now… you have seen me against the yellow light for the whole post and you must be asking yourself WHY? Well… when you have the work to color correct the entire MV to cool colors YOU MUST AS WELL DO IT ON THE PERFORMANCES… that’s it… it’s called color pallet and you should respect it. Or in other cases like when they used black and gold respect the color palette of the specific performance.
Now let’s go to 05/07/19 Oneus is a newer group so I wasn’t even dreaming about this cause again... It takes a while for this to happened. My spider senses told me something was off when they announced they would be attending breakout in Japan and SURPRISE. Twilight japanese version was announced. Versions A/B/C and CD+DVD. Some questions were raised. There will be another version of the MV and new clothes? If yes I WANT SOMETHING ON THE SAME LEVEL. Will there be a instrumental version? Will they put Valkyrie japanese version too? They would all be answered later... AND MORE. They had the audacity to show BingBing complete coreo for the first time. They must really love Japan. Legends also say that they already performed the japanese version in this festival.
I was getting uneasy with the release date coming closer and no photos of the covers of the CD’s... then 25/07 they released a schedule... I wasn’t really expecting a schedule but I was happy cause next day we would have a teaser of the MV and surprise, it was basiclly the same thing. Good because is quality stuff but bad cause I was waiting somehing new... 29/07/19 We got tracklist and GUESS WHO WAS THERE?? EXACTLY, VALKYRIE JAPANESE VERSION +++++ TWO new songs.... We are blessed.. until 30/07/19 where we got what actually was happening...
Tumblr media
IS THIS WHAT YOU CALL LIMITED CD+DVD? It follows Raise US desing but I wanted something more... It fells like it’s missing something...
Tumblr media
Version A (Clearly Valkyrie) IT’S INSTRUMENTAL YOU WANT? IT’S INTRUMENTAL YOU’LL GET. But I’m sad... where are the other two new songs you may ask?
Tumblr media
Verson B OOONNEEEE of the new songs (ok we also have it’s instrumental too and cover is ok)
Tumblr media
Version C THE OTHER SONG (we have it’s instrumental too and I didn’t know people had silver skin...)
Do you see the strategy? Each version has one of the songs so you have to buy all the versions... And I didn’t like this...
07/08 The MV was released. They don’t have official youtube chanel so they uploaded in the company that represents them in japan.
youtube
The major changes were the individual shots as they had to sing in japanese. Nothing to complain in here, their pronunciation was good but the lyrics timing didn’t seem to match the song. Valkyrie had a better japanese version then Twilight... I loved the two new songs we got too.
(Bless the person who putted Korean and Japenese side to side, I saved the video on that huge playlist)
Also, can we appreciate how well Oneus and Twilight was received in Japan? They went to national television, topped Oricon AND Billboard Japan. Tower Records was EMPTY on the first day and they promoted for almost a whole month with shows. Japan basically adoped Oneus.
But nothing is flowers. It’s was extreamly difficult to buy this single online outside japan.LET ME TELL YOU. CD japan? Nothing, Amazon japan? Nothing, Yahoo Japan? Nothing. Rakuten? Nothing, YesAsia? NOTHING. THE ONLY PLACE I COULD FIND TO BUY THIS ONLINE IS TOWER RECORDS OFFICIAL WEBSITE WITCH GUESS WHAT IT IS IN JAPANESE. AND TO BUY OUTSIDE JAPAN YOU DON’T BUY FROM THEIR WEBSITE. IT’S FROM ANOTHER WEBSITE WITCH TOWER RECORDS THEMSELFS PUTED THE LINK IN THOSE HUGE ASS BANNERS IN THEIR WEBSITE. Summary it was  literally giving birth to buy this online.
I tought I could rest BUT NOT. They would attend Soribada Music Awards... THEIR FIRST AWARD SHOW. Look I love Valkyrie... but I want Twilight to be performed and I WANT FASHION OK. I’m full of expetations, do not disappoint me Oneus. The day of the award show came and well... I was actually disappointed. Simple suits and the performance clothes? They repeated one of the worst weapons in their closets. C’mon... if you are going to repeat you have better choices IT’S NO EXCUSE... that’s the summary...
Well, from now I have covered everything... Don’t sleep in Keonhee vocals, Oneus has TWO MAIN VOCALS, appreciate Woongie vocals, that’s it.
If y’all want in my research I have build a really small database of Woongie earings in this comeback, maybe in the future I can do a compilation.
And that’s the end… if you got here congratulations you are a warrior and me too for the hours of links, print screens and editions… Byeee

"Wake-y. Wake-y little prince," I heard someone call out, opening my eyes, I quickly shot up in bed, only to moan out in pain, my leg was bonded down.
        Looking up, fear struck against my chest, his golden eyes void of any emotion, I shouldn’t have trusted him, I knew it was too good to be true.
        “Don’t be afraid little prince~ You’re death will come soon enough,” he grinned. His fangs soon protruding as he quickly raced towards me.
~~~~~~
        Jolting up in my bed, I looked around soon placing my hand on my heart, trying to calm down my beating heart. Hearing footsteps approach my door, I got out, opening the door there stood Jungkook.
“You really need to get over that day,” he huffed, walking inside.
        “I can’t. He still haunts my dreams, I could’ve died if it wasn’t for you,” I sighed out, knowing today is the day I finally get to meet my mom.
        “He can’t hurt you anymore Taehyung. Stop worrying,” he let out, walking back towards the door, only to stop at what I said next.
        “You might’ve stopped him, but you didn’t kill him. He’s still out there and I doubt you’ll be able to stop him next time.”
        “Don’t doubt my strength and connections so much, Tae. You know I’m on your side,” he let out, closing the door as I heard him walk away. Stopping my rummaging for my clothes I let out a deep sigh, “are you?”
———————
   Looking up at the condo, I looked back at Namjoon. “Wouldn’t this be too obvious? I was expecting a more rundown apartment,” I told Joon.
“Precisely,” he grinned,
        “What do you me- ohh~” I let out understanding the mindset now. Glad to know that Namjoon is on our side, we entered the condos, going up the elevators to the very top.
Knocking on the door, I heard a quiet yelp.
        “It’s okay, my Queen, it’s just us,” Namjoon answered, hearing the locks move around, a middle-aged woman opened the door. Her brown hair was up into a bun, two curls falling down, shaping her face. She had big brown puppy dog-like eyes, but one thing that stood out was her boxy smile. Wrapping her arms around me, I got a waft of her vanilla and rose scent.
        “Oh baby. My baby~ I missed you so much. Are you okay?” She asked, cupping my face as she stared at me, looking at her, I wrapped my arms around her.
“I’m fine. I missed you, I thought- I thought you died,” I let out, unshed tears welling up.
        “Oh my sweet little tiger, no. I missed you and I wished we didn’t have to give you away, as the prince. You must’ve been confused when you found out you were a vampire. You were a full bred and somehow were able to keep your true eye color from showing,” she smiled, flashing her baby blue eyes, before going back to those chocolatey brown.
“I- I thought Namjoon bit me to be honest, I didn’t believe that I was the prince,” I said guiltily.
        Chuckling, she ruffled my hair, “it must’ve been hard to cope with. Oh how I wish I didn’t burden you with this,” the Queen sniffled.
“No! No! I- I mean it is difficult but I- I’m glad to know you’re not dead,”I told her,
“You mean you remember me?” She asked, tears brimming as she gave me a loving smile.
        “Yeah I do. It’s kind of fuzzy the memory but I remember you always sang to me before I went to bed and I could never forget your brown eyes,” I explained, giving her a smile in return as she began to smother me in kisses.
        “Oh I missed you my sweet baby boy,” she cried out. Hugging her, I looked to the side to see a pair of golden eyes, tensing up I looked again only to see one of the servants come out with a tray of goods, her eyes we're a hazel brown.
"Is that your normal eye color?" I asked her,
        "Oh no, your Highness. My normal eye color is gold, I tend to keep my eyes more modern though so if any employees that come don't freak out," she replied.
"Ah~ And your name?" I asked,
        "Lisa, um I'm from the kingdom BLINK. Jennie, Rose, and Jisoo are also here but not at this moment. They went to go check up on our place and scout out any intruders, " she explained.
“Oh~ Well it was very nice to meet you,” I told her.
“You as well, your Highness,” she bowed.
“Oh please. Call me Taehyung. I don’t exactly like the formalities,” I explained.
Chuckling, she nodded her head and soon left.
{Y/n’s POV}
          Jolting up, I quickly grabbed my knife underneath my bed, feeling a sense of dread overcome me.
        Hearing some movement in the kitchen, I slowly began to walk downstairs, making sure no one can hear my footsteps, looking around the corner I quickly ran towards the kitchen doorway, turning over, I saw a boy with black and gray hair, tiptoeing near him, I was getting ready to plunge the knife into his back only to release out a gasp as he quickly turned around a gripped my wrist.
        Moaning quietly in pain, I tried to escape his grip. “L-let me go,” I whined, glaring at the male, his brown eyes flashing a dangerous gold, “Hmm... so you are Jinyoung’s partner? I didn’t know you would be a hunter,” he grinned, placing his nose near my neck as he gave a long whiff.
        “Mmm~ I wonder how sweet you taste? Only thing is I can smell the prince on you too. Tell me little one, has he claimed you?” he asked, looking at me.
        “I don’t know who you’re talking about,” I growled out, trying to stealthily grab the small vial of holy water and throw it at him, grabbing it I popped the cork off and quickly threw it at him. Hissing in pain, his grip loosened, making a run for it, I dashed to the front, quickly making my way outside, fear coursing up.
        ‘He’s a vampire, he’s faster and can hear my beating heartbeat. He’ll know where I am. He’ll know where I’ve gone too. I need to find a diversion,’ I thought, soon stopping grabbing a rock I quickly threw it hoping the sound of it will trick him. Running the opposite direction, I saw Leedo’s house, hoping my neighbor would be fine with me staying for a bit, I felt a new rush of adrenaline course through my veins, I ran over only to let out a scream as I felt a strong grip on my arm.
        Clasping my mouth, I tried to escape their grip, tears welling up. “Can you- ugh- stop kicking (y/n)! I’m trying to save you,” I heard the person growl, tensing up, I looked over to see Jungkook’s stern face, his eyes were a dark red replacing his usual brown, his baggy clothing was replaced with a more decent look as he wore a buttoned up collared shirt that had a constellation design, on top of that was a black bomber jacket. He had on blue jeans and his brown hair that was usually parted was now messy as he lifted me up.
        “We’re heading over to Tae’s so you need to hold on tight, okay babygirl?” He asked, only to get a thwacked against his head.
~~~~~
        Reaching Tae’s so called house, I looked at Jungkook.
        “Sweetheart that’s not a house, that’s a mansion!” I yelled, making Jungkook cackle, “okay but who the hell was that?” I asked him,
“That was someone who if it weren’t for me... would’ve killed you,” he replied.
        “And how do I know you won’t? Also who is this so called prince? And what did he mean by claim?!” I interrogated, Jungkook backing up with every question.
“I-You’ll hear your answer from Namjoon.” He answered,
“Nam-joon...?” I asked,
        “Our leader. He is most likely going to yell at me for taking you here as he doesn’t trust hunters but you were in danger and Taehyung would probably have killed me for not taking care of you,” he said with a look of annoyance.
        “Well sorry for being such a nuisance,” I retorted, glaring at him, only to gasp as he gripped my chin and pulled me towards him, his lips lightly grazing mine.
        “For a girl who almost got killed by a vampire, you sure are bratty. I would love to do something about that,” he quipped, licking his lips as he could hear my heart race.
        “Jungkook, let her go,” Jimin said, looking at him I saw he changed his blonde hair to a silver, it was parted to the side showing off his forehead, his eyes were his usual brown eyes. Sighing in content, I gasped as I saw his eyes turn to a dangerous red as Jungkook didn’t listen to him. “Jungkook.” He said sternly, making said boy let me go, a cocky smirk adorned on his face.
“Calm down Jiminie, you know I wouldn’t hurt her,” he smiled,
       "Do I?” He remarked, Jungkook staring at him in mild hurt, as Jimin quickly wrapped his arm around me, he walked me over to the house. Looking at his outfit, I couldn’t help but to wonder what the occasion is as he was wearing a black and red collar that was connected to his black v-neck shirt, he had on a blue jacket that looked so comfy with his black pants and shiny black shoes.
        “It’s the Queen,” he answered, making me jump. Chuckling at my reaction he told me that he is able to read people’s mind and that not everyone has the same powers.
“So Jungkook's is obviously being cocky, yours is telepathy, so what's Taehyung's?" I asked,
Chuckling at my snide comment towards Jungkook he told me that Taehyung’s powers was foreseeing.
"As in the future?"  I asked him,
"Yes."
——————
{Tae’s POV}
        Finally leaving my mother’s apartment, Namjoon’s face soon changed to one of calm to one of anger.
        “You’ve got to be kidding me,” he growled out, looking towards me his usual soft brown eyes was filled with red hot rage, “c’mon Tae. We have some business to attend too. Concerning Jungkook.”
______________
{Y/n’s POV}
        Waiting for Taehyung and Namjoon’s arrival, I heard another voice in the hallway as they scolded who I presume is Jungkook.
        Waiting for the conversation to end, I couldn’t help but let my curiosity get the best of me as I stood up and tried to quietly walk towards the voices, only to let out a quiet squeal as Jimin was soon behind me.
        “I understand that curiosity is hard to fight, but if you don’t want to upset Jin-hyung even more with the fact you’re not only human but also a hunter, then it is best to stay in your seat when he walks in.” Jimin scolded, his eyes were back to those brown hues.
        Nodding my head, I sat down, a pout adorned on my face, feeling uncomfortable as I didn’t exactly feel safe. Well no shit, my friends are basically vampires, well except for Hoseok and Yoongi but still. I knew something was off too, I just didn’t know it was this.
        Laying my head down, I heard the door open, looking over to my side I saw Taehyung walk in only to freeze in shock.
“What are you doing here?” He asked,
        “I- I don’t know... Jungkook was the one who took me here," I replied, looking away from him as a male with brown hair entered, his eyes were a dangerous red, his fangs bared out as he saw me.
"Get out, hunter," he growled out.
        Shocked at the outburst, I glared at him, "I didn't let myself in, one of your members did so if you're going to give me an attitude then talk to Jungkook, not me," I retorted.
        "Wow babygirl, throwing me under the bus I see," he tsked, a wide grin on his face as he walked in with another male behind him. He wore round glasses, his light brown hair was in a fringe as he wore a beige turtleneck with black pants.
“Well your the one who brought me here, were you not?” I asked him,
“Ah yes. But I was protecting you,” he answered.
        The male next to Taehyung turned to Jungkook. “Protecting her?! Do you know what you just did? What you cost us?! You should be dead with what you just did!” He yelled out in anger.
        Looking at Taehyung, he was looking down, when he locked eyes with me, he began to walk towards me, only for Namjoon to stop him, glaring at him.
“Taehyung,” he warned,
        “Jungkook must’ve had a good reason to bring her here,” Taehyung replied. “What happened?” He asked, looking towards me,
“I was attacked by one of your kind,” I hissed out,
        “Don’t compare us to them now (y/n),” Jimin said distastefully, looking at Jungkook with a hard glare, the cocky smirk on his lips slightly fell. “Who was it Jungkook?” Jimin asked.
        “I- it was Jaebum,” he mumbled, looking at Taehyung to see if he knew who that was, I saw his face was pale, his eyes wide as if he’s seen a ghost.
“Jaebum. As in Im Jaebum?” Taehyung asked, voice wavering.
“Yes Tae. Him.” Jungkook replied, seeing the look of fear cross Tae’s head.
“Why does he sound familiar?” I asked,
“Because... we used to date my little one,” I heard Jaebum chuckle, as he soon appeared in the room.

Tumblr media
You had texted Seoho that your work ends on Friday, and in response he sent you the address of where you would be able to find them for filming today. He had told you they'd probably be filming for hours after your work ended, so you didn't need to rush too much. Still, throughout the entire day, you keep your eye on the clock. You watch the hours tick by, wishing that the seconds would fly faster.
As the clock finally ticks to 4 o'clock, you stand up abruptly from your chair and grab your bag. You make your way out the door with everyone else who is done with work, phone in hand as you head home to change out of your stuffy work clothes and into something more casual and comfortable.
Tumblr media
You watch the boys dance in the middle of the room, which is lit up by natural sunlight from above as well as artificial light. The pillars on all ends support several floors, which all circle around the members, all dressed in white which seems to glow in the sun. None of the boys look at you, focused on their choreography. They move so elegantly, it's mesmerizing. They look so ethereal and gentle, but at the same time they dance with so much power it's intimidating.
The music plays loudly from a speaker. You recognize it from when Youngjo showed you it the other day. The title track. This is the first time you're hearing it all the way through, though it's not clearly. The ONEUS director occasionally shouts directions, and there's the constant sound of machinery whirring around. The camera people run the camera around to get a good shot. The other staff members are chatting. Hair and makeup waiting to be needed. You've attended other music video shootings for ONEUS, as one of Youngjo's closest friends. You were present during the Valkyrie and Twilight music video shootings. But still, you're fascinated by the amount of work put into a four minute YouTube video.
The boys finish and take a break for water, hair and make-up.
"Y/Nie is here!" Keonhee yells, walking over to you. You catch Youngjo smiling fondly at you over Keonhee's shoulder.
"Hi Keonhee," you say.
"It's been too long," Keonhee says, pouting. "I haven't seen you in maybe three weeks. I could barely survive it, I'm surprised Youngjo managed to survive that long."
"We actually video called every few days and--" You pause and frown at him. "What do you mean by that?"
"You two are practically stuck together normally," Keonhee says. "I swear you two are soulmates."
"Keonhee," you hiss, smacking him. He laughs, and you look around. Youngjo is off to the side, talking to Geonhak and Hwanwoong. Seoho and Dongju are leaning against a pillar, farther away  talking. You face Keonhee again.
"Everyone knows that you two like each other," he whispers. "Or at least suspects it. It's kind of obvious. "
"Yes, but we aren't together so shut up about it," you say, smacking his shoulder. Just then, you look up and Youngjo is walking over. You smile.
"You didn't tell me you were coming," he says, hugging you.
"Yeah. Seoho invited me."
"Oh, he did?" He smiles, nodding and glancing over at Seoho. "When?"
"When I came over the other day," you say. "As I was leaving to throw away the garbage, I stopped by to say bye and he came to say bye. He came with ms to throw away the trash."
"Oh," he says, frowning a bit. He shakes his head and smiles. "So, uh, what do you think?" he asks, looking back at you.
"I like it. The song is awesome. The video is going to be beautiful," you say, looking around you at the building, the decorations for the music video. Even the costumes that the members are wearing are gorgeous.
"Yesterday we had indoor filming," Youngjo continues. "We have a dark versus light concept that I hope will show well in the music video."
"It will."
You walk over to where the other members are chatting, some of them--Hwanwoong and Dongju--getting their hair and makeup touched up by the stylists.
"Y/Nie came!" Seoho says cheerfully, running to hug you. As he pulls away from the hug, Youngjo inserts himself between you and Seoho, eyeing Seoho suspiciously. You pretend not to notice.
"Looks great," you say, nodding your head to where they were dancing minutes ago. "Love the choreo, too. The song sounds amazing, I'm so excited to get myself a copy of the album."
"No, no," Hwanwoong says, shaking his head. His stylist sighs, and he stills again. "Y/Nie, we'll get you the album as a gift."
"You don't have to."
"You're our friend!" Hwanwoong insists. "We're getting you a copy. Maybe you'll get Ravn's photocard."
You catch Youngjo glaring at Hwanwoong out of the corner of your eye, but decide to ignore it. You're used to the teasing you receive from all of the ONEUS members. As Keonhee had said, everyone knows that you two both see each other as more than friends. But neither you nor Youngjo have had the guts to do anything about it.
"Y/N," Seoho says. "Did you see the ending of the choreo? The killing part? Do we look cool?"
"You guys looked so cool," you say, nodding. "You guys look so elegant and powerful. And the ending, you guys look so cool."
"Do you like the song?" Geonhak asks.
"I absolutely love it, Geonhak. Youngjo showed me a bit of it the other day but hearing it all now, it's more amazing than I thought!"
"Of course Youngjo showed you," Geonhak says, chuckling.
"What was that?" Youngjo asks, his tone scolding. Geonhak shakes his head, smiling innocently.
"Nothing!"
They continue filming, redoing the choreo one more time in the center of the building, then move to film in the woods outside. As the sun begins to set, they film the choreo one more time before the end of the day, while the sun is at just the right place in the sky. You watch from behind the camera. You sigh, knowing that though the music video will be amazing, the camera will never capture the true beauty of the scene.
Tumblr media
"You don't have to cook for us," Youngjo says as he sets the table. Nearby, you're helping Geonhak cook bulgogi. Everyone seemed tired after filming, though they tried to hide it from you. You insisted on cooking, or at least helping Geonhak cook.
"Seriously, you six must be exhausted from filming for two days," you say. "So much work all day. Anyway, we're all done!"
The seven of you eat together at the table, chatting about things other than the comeback.
"You should have been there to see what Dongju did yesterday," Geonhak says to you. "We went out, Dongju, Hwanwoong and I, to get bubble tea and snacks. Dongju said he was going to pay, but then said he forgot his wallet at home. Turns out he did it on purpose."
"Hey!" Dongju yells. "I never said I did it on purpose!"
"Oh? Then what happened?"
"I realized as we were leaving that I forgot my wallet. But I didn't say anything," Dongju says, laughing. "I knew it even when I said I'd buy it myself, and I pretended to be surprised so you would buy me snacks and bubble tea."
"These kids," Youngjo says with a chuckle.
After everyone has finished eating and chatting, you gather all of the dishes to wash. Youngjo joins you despite your insisting that he should rest.
"Seriously, Youngjo, you should rest. You worked all day today and you have practice tomorrow."
"Y/Nie, I'm not a kid," he says. "Let me help you wash the dishes."
"Ach, look at them," Keonhee's voice says from behind. "They're so cute like a married couple."
"Get married already!" Hwanwoong yells from the table. Both you and Youngjo turn around at the same time to glare at them. They duck their heads in shame, and you and Youngjo look back at the dishes you're washing. Then you hear a whisper.
"They glared at the same time. They really are destined to be together," Keonhee whispers loudly, clearly intending for Youngjo to hear.
"Yah!" Youngjo runs at him, leaving you at the sink alone as he chases Keonhee around the dorm, yelling, while the other four members laugh at them.
You smile softy. Their childishness is endearingly adorable. They're so serious and focused during work, like when they were filming earlier today. But they are still adorable goofballs.
You watch as Youngjo finally catches Keonhee and holds him still, arms wrapped around him tightly as he squirms. His smile is wide, so he obviously finds this teasing fun, and your heart melts the way it does every time he smiles.
Growing up with him was a gift, and he's very much the same as he used to be. He's always been both hardworking and silly, even when you were kids. No wonder you started liking him more than a friend. With a heart made of gold and a smile brighter than the sun, how could you not fall in love with him?
It's obvious he feels similarly about you. The other members have pointed out to you how much Youngjo loves spending time with just you. How much just your presence makes him smile. Even you notice that he treats you differently than his other friends.
And he knows you like him.
But he doesn't know how much you like him. How just his smile can brighten your darker days. He doesn't know how much you value your relationship, how just spending the day with him makes you happy. You wonder if he has ever caught you staring at him, gushing over his smile or his laugh. You wonder if he's ever caught you humming one of his songs, singing and smiling at his parts, admiring his rapping or singing.
You if he feels the same way about you. If he latches onto your habits and traits the way you've fallen in love with the little things he does.
Your gaze drifts over to Seoho, who is sitting silently at the table with Hwanwoong, smiles at you. You smile back and continue washing the plate in your hand. After a minute, Youngjo returns to your side to help.
"Those kids," he says with a chuckle and a shake of his head.
The two of you finish washing and drying the last few dishes, and you look out the window. The sky outside is dark. It's later than you'd expected to be here.
"Y/Nah," Seoho says. He's moved to the couch, which is now crowded with him, Geonhak--who has Dongju sitting on his lap--Hwanwoong and Keonhee. Youngjo has just gone to the restroom.
"Did you enjoy seeing us film today?" Seoho asks.
"Of course they'll say yes," Geonhak says, not looking up from his phone. "Y/N says yes every time you ask them after a day of filming."
"I did enjoy it," you say as you sit down in the nearest chair. It's true.
"Told you," Geonhak says, smiling. Seoho rolls his eyes.
"I really enjoyed it today," you say. "The song is so cool. And the filming location was absolutely amazing. I thought the building was really cool. I'm really excited to see the music video. Oh!" You check your phone and realize just how late it is. "Oh gosh, I have to get home."
"You're going home?" Youngjo asks, appearing from behind you. You nod, setting your phone down on the table next to you.
"Do you want one of us to take you home?" Seoho asks.
"No, it's okay," you say, shaking your head. "I only live ten minutes away."
"Okay. See you soon, Y/Nie!" Seoho says.
Youngjo walks you to the door, thanking you for helping out with dinner and the dishes, and he waves goodbye as you take the elevator down.
You hum as you walk down the street, slowly making your way toward your home. The night air is cool on your cheeks. The night is dark and calm.
After about five minutes of walking, you hear footsteps behind you. You tense up, but steadily quicken your footsteps, worried that it might be someone with hostile intentions. Then you hear the person call your name.
"Y/N! Y/N!"
You turn around. "Youngjo?"
He comes to a stop in front of you, gasping for breath with his hands on his knees.
Did he run all the way here?
"Youngjo, what--"
"You forgot your phone at the dorm," he says, reaching for his back pocket. He holds out your phone to you, and you take it. "It was on the dining table."
"Thank you for bringing this," you say. You pace your hand on his shoulder as he tries to catch his breath. "Youngjo, you didn't have to run all the way here. I would have noticed and come back to get it."
"I wanted to," he says, standing up straight and fixing his shirt.  "Besides. I kind of wanted to walk you home."
"I'm sure you did. You can walk the rest of the way with me if you really want, since we're halfway there. Or you could go back to the dorm and rest after a long day of filming."
"I'll walk with you," he says.
You nod and continue toward your home, Youngjo by your side. You two walk toward your home together, side by side.
After a minute of comfortable silence, you speak.
"You should be proud," you say. He looks at you curiously. "The song is amazing. The choreo is beautiful. Everything I've heard, from the little sneak peaks you've given me to everything I've accidentally heard when I come into your studio uninvited, it's all amazing."
He smiles sweetly at you. You catch it out of the corner of your eye, the way he smiles that smile that makes you feel giddy. His eyes are shining brighter than the stars in the sky. But then again, Youngjo doesn't have any light pollution in his eyes. He has a very starry-eyed smile.
"I haven't heard all of the songs in full," you continue. "But knowing you and everyone else who has contributed, it'll be a masterpiece."
"Y/N . . ." Youngjo slows his walking pace, and you aren't sure if he's aware of it.
"Hm?" You look at him, slowing your pace to match his. He seems to be thinking really hard, staring at the floor with an unreadable expression. "Youngjo?"
He looks at you with a soft smile. It's not the same starry-eyed smile.
"Thank you for encouraging me, Y/N," he says gently. You feel like he wants to say more, but he doesn't. "Ah, we're here."
You look forward and realize you're at the doorstep of your apartment building.
"Oh yes." You nod. "Thank you for walking with me and returning my phone."
"Thank you for helping Geonhak with dinner and helping with dishes," Youngjo says. "And for visiting us during our music video filming. It gave us--all of us--energy and motivation to do well today."
You smile, opening your arms to him for a hug. He hugs you tightly, squeezing you as if you won't be seeing each other for a while.
You wave goodbye after pulling away and go into your apartment. You watch fondly from the window as Youngjo disappears down the street.
You really love him.
