i just remembered one time i saw a take where people were trying to say that pearl being, well, a pearl, had nothing to do with her devotion and obsession with rose
which is... a take. for sure.
im sure her character arcs over the course of the show had absolutely nothing to do with her gem typing at all, and never got brought up a single time....

DxP REWRITE - Review
Doesn’t matter how cold it is - if there is a beach, Ansy will head straight to the water, take off her shoes, & go for a stroll. Rain (her Vaporeon) would often walk alongside her &/or go for a swim. This is before or after that walk, as Ansy takes a moment to reread Mizumi’s letter.
PS: how to spot a time traveler: since before the 1940’s Japanese was written vertically, while in modern times, it’s horizontal. Poke-Japanese (Hisuian / Sinnohese / Kantonian / etc.) seems to work the same way. Mizumi likely adjusted for the time period she now lives in, but since she’s writing to her great-great-granddaughter, no need for that.

Note
You put a lot small visual elements and details in that I never seem to notice on my first read, and it always makes rereading exciting. What’s a detail from the comic that nobody ever seemed to notice? I’m sure there are things that nobody has mentioned, especially from the early chapters, that you’d want to talk about
Oh man.........that's a great question.
The thing is, there are a lot of details that people don't pick up, but there are definitely eagle-eyed readers that also do! There are also details which most didn't pick up until someone posted about it, and now everyone knows!
There are also details which are actually... yet to be revealed as relevant! That's a secret tool that'll help us later. :)
But most of it is plot relevant decisions I make which make the story more full, but are not necessarily NECESSARY for full enjoyment.
For example, in the very first comic, when Earl approaches Steven....
Tumblr media
Her eye isn't white! That was a fully deliberate decision. She didn't actually approach Steven because he wanted her to. That was a decision she made on her own!
Most of the white eye shenanigans in Season 1 were deliberate, albeit not very explicit. I suppose that worked out okay, though. Plus, many people DID catch on!
Also, this part in the Kindergarten comic:
Tumblr media
...which people assumed was a power separate from everything, is actually just the first instance of Steven's Command power. The thing is, I hadn't settled into how to portray it at the time, and also - the gem is Corrupted! It doesn't respond to Steven's commands the same way normal gems do. I planned to explore that earlier initially, but in the end, decided to tie it into much later plot.
In Season 1, EP 38, Steven asks Earl to write her name.... and she does! But in gem, not English, because she doesn't know how to write in English.
Tumblr media
She designates herself as White Pearl, putting the dash over the top diamond. It was at the time when she was still anxious about making Steven - White Diamond - angry with her.
And to add to the eye thing - during the Season finale of Season 2, when Steven wondered if Earl only came to see him because he forced her to - the comic where she finds him in the water proves otherwise!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Immediately when she grabs him and swims up, her eyes aren't white! She's doing it of her own accord.
Also, in Season 3's opening, when Rose is angry at what she THINKS is White Diamond, she almost has a slip of the tongue when talking about the past.
Tumblr media
There's a very pointed reason that panel of Earl is right there next to Rose's cut-off 'My...'
Also, when Rose leaves Steven in the Containment Sphere - the Baby Jail Bubble - she unlocks it to leave, and you can pretty clearly see an interesting detail.
Tumblr media
(which Steven, of course, doesn't notice.)
There's also a bit of a narrative tongue in cheek line-up which is accidental on Steven's part but still rings true:
Tumblr media
(TVTropes editors caught this one! Hey TVTrope editors!)
Also, this very famous Seaglass foreshadowing:
Tumblr media
The first instance of Steven connecting to tech was in the beginning of this season!
Tumblr media
When Steven has a bad dream after fusing with Earl and forming Bleached Coral, there's a hidden detail in this reflective text from Nightmare Rose:
Tumblr media
(It might be easier to read if you mirror-flip it.)
Another fun thing I enjoyed doing before I got busy with other stuff is gem language! Earl writes Steven notes in it to help him learn, and now signs with her English name,
Tumblr media
In the Cluster Experiments comic, if you look at the panels before stuff starts to Happen, you can find a few Experiments hiding in the background. :)
Tumblr media
In Amethyst's room, there is a Japanese stopsign and a d20 in the background.
Tumblr media
In episode 25 of season 4, Steven is playing Moonlight Sonata!
Tumblr media
In episode 33, the ship Steven connects to displays a bisection of the earth which showcases its lumpy core! Or rather, the megastructures that are hidden deep inside the mantle.
Tumblr media
It also showcases a few geothermal coring sites made during the colonization.
And by the way, the drill Pearl built was actually a repurposed ship hull which was used for the Space Race ship in the original show!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And man there are actually... many more! But I had to skip over them because they are alluding to things which have not yet been explicitly revealed! :D
But even with this, I'm sure there are other ones I'm missing. If you think you have one that should be listed - throw it on a reblog or in the comments!

Donut Hole - Chapter 16
Mountain Sound
Hold your horses now (We sleep until the sun goes down) Through the woods, we ran (Deep into the mountain sound) Hold your horses now (We sleep until the sun goes down) Through the woods, we ran
[THINGS ARE GETTING CRAZY FOLKS] [also shoutout to me rereading my old chapters and going 'oh Barry literally doesnt know Iscan's name'.] [Also I wanted to keep this chapter short and…that didn't happen. ENJOY THE 5k WORDS OF CHAOS!] [And a big thanks to my anonymous bestie and my friend Plant for Beta Reading!]
[ao3 Link]
Adaman didn’t return to his home in the Mirelands immediately. No, he went a bit further to the Coastlands to try and clear his head. Interacting with Irida for an extended period of time was bad for his health, he just knew it.
He stood on the sandy shores, the surf mere inches away from touching his shoes. Adaman took a moment to ground himself, breathing in the salty air. Time was precious, and spending time to reorient himself especially so.
“Lord Adaman!” down the stretch of beach, Iscan waved as he approached. “It’s always a pleasure to see you. What brings you here?”
“Had to clear my head. Irida just-” he gestured wildly with his hands with no clear meaning. “She just gets under my skin. You know how the Pearl Clan acts; they think they’re constantly right all the time?”
Iscan frowned. “I-I don’t know if every member of the Pearl Clan is like that…have you m-met them all?”
Adaman raised an eyebrow. “And you have?”
“Well…no.”
The Diamond Clan leader scoffed a bit at that, but Iscan seemed unconvinced. “W-What was Lady Irida talking about, anyhow?”
“You know that boy who robbed you, then broke your house?”
“How could I forget? What about him?”
Adaman fought not to roll his eyes. “Irida has convinced herself that he is connected to Dawn, of the Galaxy team.”
Iscan blinked at him, seemingly sharing Adaman’s skepticism. “And how did she come to that conclusion?”
“Half-baked coincidences and wishful thinking, I’d imagine. The two are children roughly the same age, both powerful trainers, both…weird-”
“Two of those things describe Warden Ingo? No offense to him of course-”
Adaman snickered at that, “That’s what I was thinking too. It’s all just coincidences. And my thought process is that sure, the boy may superficially resemble Dawn’s friend-”
“What?”
The clan leader took a breath. “I should’ve started at the beginning. Irida and I came to Jubilife to discuss that boy running about. But we were stopped by Dawn, who wanted to show us a pokemon she had caught, who she named after her best friend, Barry. Then she starts to cry and say how much she loved this friend, and how they used to train and battle and eat pecha berries-"
He paused, glancing over at Iscan, noticing how pale the other man was suddenly. "Did…did I say something?"
Iscan started to say something, stopped, thought for a moment. He closed his eyes and held a fist in front of his mouth, trying to recall. "You said the friend's name was Barry?" He finally asked.
"...yeah…?"
"And y-you said. You said they would eat pecha berries?"
Adaman felt a flicker of irritation. "Oh come now, Iscan, surely you don't-"
"Did Dawn describe the friend at all?"
"This is such a waste of time- yes. Yes she did, after Irida practically forced her to. A boy her age, taller, spikey blonde hair and a green scarf-"
Iscan spoke slowly, knowing that what he was about to say would not fly over well. "Sir. My Lord. With all due respect. I-I think Irida may be…c-correct.
That went just as well as Iscan thought it would. “You’re siding with her?! Might I remind you of what clan you’re part of?!”
“Adaman.” Iscan said firmly. “I am asking you to listen to me, instead of assuming the worst.”
This seemed to pacify Adaman, at least a little bit. Enough for Iscan to continue. “The boy in question came into my home, if you’ll recall. Stole some things, broke my walls. But before he did, he…spoke. I…I didn’t speak to him directly. Palina did, and she relayed everything the boy had said.”
Curiosity began overtaking Adaman’s anger. “...what did he say?”
“A-At first, we thought he was spouting madness. Asking for items we’ve never heard of, refusing to say where he had come from, and thought Palina was his mother. But…there was something else. He’s looking for someone.”
“That’s ominous. And vague. And unhelpful.”
“He’s looking for a girl. But he can’t remember the finer details. I think something’s scrambled his memory really bad. But there were two things he remembered; the girl was the best pokemon trainer he’s ever seen…and they used to share pecha berries.”
Adaman didn’t say a word. He slowly turned back to stare into the horizon, his mouth fixed into a thin line.
Iscan honestly thought he had broke him. “...L-Lord Adaman?”
Lord Adaman closed his eyes, inhaled through his nose, then exhaled. “...Fuck.”
He spun on his heel, gesturing in the air with his pointer finger. “Gather up the rest of the Wardens. We need to go catch this kid.”
---
When it was just Barry and his pokemon and the world around him, he could almost pretend he was on another adventure. That he was just exploring around Mount Coronet, looking for new discoveries, a pokemon center just around the corner. Later, when he was tired, he would go home, give his mom a kiss on the cheek, and tuck himself into bed.
It wasn’t true, of course. Not a single bit of it.
This was a different world from his own; Cyrus won, the world is ruined, pokemon centers don’t exist and his mom-
He didn’t want to think about that.
Barry focused on his pokemon. Once he was a safe distance from the weird shirtless man and his daughter(?) he had let his pokemon out of their balls. Fern took the lead, Pest sat on his head, Mystery flew above, Jen walked behind…
And Snacks kept bringing him things.
Snacks would toddle off for a while, returning with a handful of…something. Rocks. Twigs. Berries. He was surprised it stuck around so long. He had told the little guy that it was free to go once they were far enough away from those two nutjobs, but Snacks seemed content to stay.
Barry was…tired. Part of him wanted to find a nice spot to curl up and sleep, but they had already lost so much ground that they needed to make up…
He could feel it in his bones; this mountain had answers. He had to get to the top of this mountain.
Even if it killed him.
Barry tried to stifle a yawn as Fern slowed to check on him. “Atta boy Fern…keeping watch. Those nutjobs aren’t following us, right?”
Fern chirped, trying to gesture for Barry to slow down and sit. Barry barely put up a fight as his pokemon shuffled him onto a rock to rest.
“Mmkay, quick break. Quick break.” he muttered, petting the pokemon closest to him. In this case, Jen. Pest and Mystery preened the boy the best they could, and Snacks continued to pile small objects into Barry’s lap.
Absent-mindedly, he began sorting the items. Berries, twigs, clumps of dirt…and a jet black rock with sharp edges. This item caused him to pause, turning the item over in his hand. He ran his finger along the edge, wincing as he sliced a small cut on his finger tip.
“It’s as dark as…dark can be.” he commented, trying to remember what this stone was. Had he seen it in a shopping magazine? Pamphlet? Flyer? Maybe in one of those trainer guides he’d get monthly in the mail-?
Realization hit him like a bucket of cold water. “M-MYSTERY!” He grabbed the bird, a little roughly, but not without kindness, to show him the stone. “DO YOU KNOW WHAT THIS IS?!”
Mystery, understandably surprised and startled, squawked in reply.
“It’s a DUSK STONE! You can evolve with this!”
That got the bird’s attention, and now it too was staring at the stone with fascination.
Barry turned to Snacks. “You are SUCH a good boy!... Girl!... Tree!! You are SUCH a good tree!!”
Barry was perfectly ready to give Mystery the Dusk Stone and begin Mystery’s evolution, but out of the corner of his eye he noticed Fern looking…tense. “...Buddy?”
His team grew quiet. Barry strained to try and hear what they were hearing, trying to listen past the faint whistle of the wind and rustling of leaves…
“...’m not sitting behind you, I have seniority…”
His brain wasn’t firing on all cylinders, but each thought felt like a Pikipek against his skull; were they followed? Where were these people? Did they know where he was? Would they hurt his pokemon? Was Cyrus there?
Quickly, he recalled all his pokemon but Fern, much to Mystery’s irritation. “W-We’ll evolve you later. This is more important. Fern, lead the way.”
The two of them crept closer to the voices, finding themselves peering over the rocky cliffs and into a small canyon.
It was all the commanders from Team Galactic he had met so far, and a few he hadn’t. What was worrying were the pokemon mounts they had - pokemon he had never seen before.
Barry focused on Palina, currently on the back of an enormous dog-pokemon. If he squinted, he’d almost be tempted to say it was a horribly ill arcanine. Of course they were mistreating their pokemon!
“I am not sitting behind you on Lord Arcanine, Palina. I have seniority! I should sit in front!” Gaeric argued. “I am not sitting behind you! That’s embarrassing!”
“Lord Arcanine is my Lord, Gaeric. You should’ve brought your own. Oh. Right. I forgot.”
He could vaguely see Ingo and that weird, stretched out Sneasel walking down a path in the the cliffs to join the small group, flanked by a tall man in blue with long hair who appeared to really not want to be there.
Even at a distance, Barry could sense a weird tension amongst everyone, which he found strange. Weren’t they all part of Team Galactic?
Both Barry and Fern turned to the sound of galloping hooves. Riding in on a large, white deer were two people; a woman in the blue galactic uniform with black hair, and a man in a much more decorative jacket of some kind.
“He must be a leader. Wait. Cyrus is the leader.” Barry muttered. “What’s in between a commander and a leader? General?”
Sure. He’d settle on ‘General’.
The ‘General’ barely had time to hop off the pokemon before another, tall man stormed over. “Adaman, what is the meaning of this?! Working together with them?!” The tall man gestured to the commanders in pink with disgust in his voice.
‘General’ Adaman raised his hands to pacify. “Melli, settle down. We’re here with a shared goal; to find the boy.”
Barry felt his heart skip several beats. “O-Oh my God.”
They were definitely looking for him. But…it appeared they didn’t know where he was yet.
‘General’ Adaman spoke to the group now. “We are still waiting for Warden Calaba and Lady Irida. They will be arriving on Ursaluna.”
“So they’ll be a while.” the girl on the deer added.
“Must we share ride pokemon?” Melli continued to complain.
Ingo spoke now, “It is imperative we find the boy as fast as our routes will allow! As such, riding on the back of Pokemon is a must! But Melli and I know the mountains best, and it would be best for us to traverse on foot!”
Melli huffed at that, “Well that’s not much better.”
Finally, lumbering into the clearing was an enormous bear of some kind; with an older woman in pink and a younger woman with a crown on her head.
“Ah, finally decided to grace our presence, Lady Irida.” said Adaman. “This was your idea, you know.”
General Irida scowled at him as she hopped off the Pokemon’s back. “Lord Ursaluna takes his time, and who am I to tell him otherwise? Great haste makes great waste.”
“True, but a little haste would be appreciated.”
My God. Barry thought to himself. Were these two always like this?
How exhausting.
Finally, the two generals addressed the group together. Adaman spoke first, gesturing with his hands. “You’re all aware why we’re here. We need to finally take care of that child once and for all.”
Barry gulped.
Irida’s body language was much more closed off, but she followed up with, “The child is a danger to himself and others-”
“He set our settlement on FIRE.” Gaeric shouted.
“And he buried OUR SETTLEMENT in a LANDSLIDE!” Melli added.
The generals grimaced at the upset murmurings and general feeling of irritation. Adaman attempted to regain command. “Which is why we’re trying to capture him? He can’t just keep running around like this! Who knows what he’ll do next!”
“We’re in a temporary truce to work together to find him.” Said Irida. “According to Gaeric and Sabi, Berry was last seen heading towards the Highlands-”
Sabi began jumping in place, her giant bird loudly squawking, “And I can sense him still! He’s so close!”
Barry felt a shiver run up his spine at that. There were so many of them…and only one of him. If he wasn’t careful, then he was going to end up in their clutches.
He started slinking back, careful not to make any sudden movements or sound-
From his bag rolled the pokeball containing Mystery, and once the ball hit the floor, the large murkrow burst free with an ear-piercing croak.
As Barry and Fern scrambled to get its pokeball, Mystery was already rummaging in Barry’s bag, knocking items out with a loud clatter.
“MYSTERY- MYSTERY NO-!” came Barry’s terrified hiss. “I SAID WE’D EVOLVE YOU LATER - BAD BIRD! GET BACK IN THE BALL!”
The Galactic Commanders and General had definitely noticed the noise by now, unsure what to make of it.
“That is not a normal call from a Murkrow-” “Should we do something?” “What is it even doing-?”
Finally, Mystery managed to snag the Dusk Stone from Barry’s bag, and began to glow.
“SHIT.”
Mystery as a Murkrow was already an absurdly large specimen. Mystery as a Honchkrow was enormous. As large as Barry stood tall, maybe even larger.
And much to Barry’s horror, Mystery’s new, large size made them a new, very large target.
“Is that him?” “That’s him!”
If looks could kill, the withering glare Barry gave his Honchkrow would’ve made the bird explode into a puff of feathers. “We need to leave. Now!” he said as he scrambled to shove all of the items back into his bag.
There was no way he could outrun them. But he had a bit of a lead. As Barry ran, Fern and Mystery flanked him. "Mystery, if we get out of this alive? I'm turning you into a feather duster!"
In practically no time at all, he could hear the panting and the heavy footfalls of paws hitting the earth from the arcanine behind them. It almost felt like each step caused the mountain to shake.
They had caught up so fast.
“Berry!” Palina pleaded from the back of the arcanine. (Wait did she get his name wrong?) “Berry, please! We only want to help! Stop running!”
“Then stop CHASING ME then!” Barry shot back.
‘Help’. Sure. Like he’d believe that.
“Stop making this so difficult!” Gaeric said from behind her.
He saw a small trail up ahead, snaking through a thin chasm. There was no way the arcanine could follow them down there. And with a quick glance, Barry informed his pokemon of the plan.
As soon as they could, the three of them ducked down the trail. The Arcanine whined and tried to paw at the entrance, testing if it could fit, to no avail. Barry heard shouting, but the adrenaline that was quickly overwhelming his system blurred all noise.
He had to get out of here in one piece.
Barry and his pokemon finally squeezed out of the trail on a different side of the mountain. Everything was starting to blend together now; sound, sights, thoughts. His hands were clammy. His head was starting to spin.
A wave of clarity hit when Barry saw the white deer round a corner, General Adaman and the unnamed commander with black hair on its back.
“F-Fern-!” Barry squeaked, pointing in their direction.
With a single word, Fern understood perfectly. It took a ready stance, fully prepared to take on the white deer galloping towards them at top speed.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t going to be that easy. The deer slowed to a stop, and with a single, stern look, Fern staggered.
Hypnosis.
“No-” Barry whispered, seeing Fern try to shake off the effects of the hypnosis and failing. “No!”
“This is for your own good.” Adaman said. “Lord Wyrdeer, another Hypnosis-”
“You don’t know what’s good for me!” Barry shot back, and before he could even utter the command, Mystery flew in for his rescue.
Shrieking like a crobat from hell, Mystery swooped forward, talons aimed directly for the deer’s face. The deer bellowed, rising on its back legs to try and shake Mystery off, General Adaman nearly falling off entirely, if not for the unnamed commander grabbing his shirt.
“You’re not going to stop me! I won’t let you win!” Barry continued to spit like an enraged seviper, recalling Fern to its pokeball.
His adversaries distracted, Barry ran.
Looking over his shoulder, he whistled for Mystery to catch up with him. This proved to be a mistake, as taking his eyes off the path for a split second caused him to trip.
And fall.
Down one of the cliffs.
Luckily for Barry, this particular cliff wasn’t very high, nor was it steep. He mostly slid and scrambled his way down more than fell. This did not stop him from hitting every root and rock on the way down, and it did not make hitting the ground hurt any less.
He laid there for a moment, groaning, his bandaged leg spiking with pain upon impact. Mystery landed next to him with a flutter of feathers, tugging on his clothes to try and pull him up.
Barry couldn’t lay there for long, seeing and hearing something shuffling closer. He sat up, seeing the lumbering form of a giant bear approaching him now.
“Berry…we want to help.” came the soft voice of General Irida. “You’re looking for someone, right? We could help you find her…if you come with us?”
“Don’t try and negotiate with crazy people.” The older woman hissed.
“S’atrap…” Barry slurred as he tried to stand, wincing as he put weight on his injured leg. “‘S a trap. It’s a TRAP. Gonna help me into a GRAVE.”
Mystery cawed loudly in agreement.
“No! No no no, it’s not a trap! We’re not lying to you!” Irida continued to insist as she - and the giant bear with giant bear claws - lumbered closer.
Out of the corner of his eye, he saw a cave entrance, from a glance it looked too small for the giant bear to fit in.
Could Barry outrun a bear? He was about to find out.
“You’re not getting me. You’re not getting me. You’re not getting me.” he muttered, slowly walking backwards. “You’re not going to win.”
“Berry-!”
“AND THAT’S NOT MY NAME! MY NAME IS BARRY!”
And Barry ran. Bolting for the cave entrance even as the two women yelled and the bear bellowed behind him. The only confirmation of his pokemon by his side was the rustling of feathers as the two bolted for presumed safety.
But he found no solace within the cave. Instead he found two pairs of glowing eyes staring at him.
“You have traveled far, but your determination has not brought you victory. Not this time, young passenger.”
Barry felt a shiver run down his spine.
“Let me introduce myself again. I am the Warden Ingo. You have done well to evade my fellow Wardens, but you will have no such luck with me.”
Ingo assumed a familiar pose; the iconic ‘point and call’ that Barry was familiar with from travel magazines and advertisements for the Battle Subway in Unova. But it was…wrong. Ingo looked horribly stiff, his tattered clothing doing him no favors.
He looked like he had died on this mountain.
Barry quickly glanced around the cave, looking for a potential exit. To his immediate right was a soft glow indicating another cave opening, but the stretched out sneasel clearly noticed as well; starting to slowly skulk over to block it off.
“Now, you are a very smart boy, and a very skilled trainer. The bond between you and your pokemon is admirable.” He lowered his head, the brim of his cap obscuring his eyes and making him look all the more intimidating. “So don’t be stupid, now. Come with us. This track ends here. It’s time to divert your course.”
‘Oh my God.’ Barry thought, sweat forming on his brow. ‘Subway Boss Ingo is going to kill me in this cave.’
He couldn’t go back. And he couldn’t go forward without a fight.
So fight it was.
“MYSTERY, GO GET THAT SNEASEL!”
Ingo and the sneasel seemed surprised by this outcome, but what did they expect, honestly? That Barry was going to give up? Turn himself in? Fat chance.
Mystery flew forward with a horrid screech, flapping its wings and raising its talons to fight the sneasel. It was a longshot; the sneasel had a type advantage, being ice.
Regardless, the sneasel howled and raised its large claws to try and shield itself. Ingo was shouting something, fumbling for his pokeballs. And in the chaos, Barry made a break for it.
Barry ran from the cave, temporarily blinded by sunlight, Mystery flying just behind him. But just behind the wingbeats was the sound of hooves, of heavy paws, shouting, begging, pleading for him to stop, stop, stop, STOP.
And deep down, Barry knew he had to eventually. His lungs were burning, his head felt fuzzy, his leg felt like jelly. The inevitability was killing him. He had to keep running. He had to stop. He had to keep running. He had to stop.
Unfortunately, the terrain decided for him.
Barry yelped, skidding to a stop just before tumbling off another cliff. This one steeper. This one taller. If he fell down this cliff, he wouldn’t have walked away with just scrapes and bruises.
He turned, starting to run back the way he came, but was instead met with the sick arcanine, Palina, and Gaeric.
Barry squeaked, walking backwards as the arcanine slowly inched closer. They were swiftly joined by the other commanders and their respective ride pokemon (or lack of).
He was cornered. Cornered cornered. His legs started to shake as he tried to think of possibilities to get out of this mess, but each potential idea ending in painful failure after painful failure.
“Good God, it’s about time we catch this brat.” said Melli with a snooty huff.
“You didn’t even help! Y-You were in the Moonview Arena!” countered the man with a shaved head in blue.
“I was keeping a watchful eye over my dear Lord! Sinnoh forbid this brat hurt Lord Electrode-”
“Shut it- Shut it!” Adaman hissed as he dismounted the deer. “Squabble later!”
Irida dismounted the bear at the same time. “Ber- Barry. Barry.” she said slowly, hands outstretched as if she were attempting to pacify a great beast instead of a thirteen year old boy.
They were all inching closer now. Barry honestly thought his heart would explode, or his legs would give out. Like his entire body would fall apart at the seams like a poorly made ragdoll.
“P-Pl..please. Don’t hurt my pokemon.” was the only thing Barry managed to say, reaching to pet Mystery’s inky feathers without looking away from the encroaching commanders.
Behind him, Mystery let out a soft, confused croon.
“Should we have Ingo use sleep powder on him again?” Gaeric asked.
The woman on the deer looked surprised. “Ingo did what?”
“No, no, none of that. We’re not going to do anything drastic.” Irida spoke as if she were speaking for Barry’s behalf as well. Perhaps urging him to comply. “We’re just going to take him to the Galaxy Headquarters in Jubilife-”
“Team Galactic is in Jubilife?” asked Barry, quietly, almost in disbelief. Last he knew, the Galactic Headquarters should be in Eterna city. But this is a world where Cyrus ruled, and why wouldn’t he move his headquarters to the biggest city in Sinnoh?
Of course, that did him little good now, stuck between a horde of commanders and a cliff face, metaphorical rock and a hard place. And now he just felt stupid for running around a mountain all day. Barry could feel the tears start to well in his eyes.
Stupid. Stupid. Stupid.
With a determined croak, Mystery threw the boy onto its back. It took Barry a minute to get more comfortable, practically throwing his arms around Mystery’s neck. It was a lot different than riding his Staratpor back home, that’s for certain.
Mystery looked over its shoulder. Barry looked back, eyes widening in realization.
He nodded.
“THAT TRACK IS NOT SAFE FOR TRAVERSAL!” Ingo shouted, voice frantic and fearful, reaching for the pokeball containing Gliscor. “FOR YOUR SAFETY I ASK YOU DISMOUNT IMMEDIATELY!”
“Ingo, what are you saying?!” the old woman on the back of the bear demanded.
Sabi answered for him. “HE’S GONNA JUMP!”
The group surged forward. Some begging, some yelling, but all telling the boy in some form to get away from the cliff.
“He doesn’t have the guts! Only Lord Braviary can fly carrying someone!” Melli loudly scoffed. “The brat might as well do a flip to entertain the crowd!”
Adaman turned and sharply hissed, “Melli, with Sinnoh as my witness, I will strangle you.”
Barry and Mystery paid the crowd no mind. The small bit of space before the drop-off would provide the bird a decent running start; so Mystery turned and began to sprint directly for the cliff’s edge.
Of course, Barry hadn’t seen a single Technical Machine lying around since he arrived, let alone the Hidden Machine for Fly. But he had to trust in his pokemon, and trust that Mystery wouldn’t let him plummet to his death-
“Wait WAIT WAIT- I CHANGED MY-”
Mystery jumped.
For the briefest of moments, Barry felt weightless. Looking out over the mountainous hills, he felt…small. Like a feather, or maybe a dandelion puff in the breeze.
And then gravity kicked in, and the two began to fall.
And fall.
And fall.
Seeing the ground rushing to meet him, Barry squeezed his eyes shut tight, “Mystery I’m sorry for threatening to turn you into a feather duster!” he said, fighting to speak against the wind. ”God, take pity on my little broken body!”
He couldn’t see it, but at that, Mystery smirked.
Barry felt Mystery start to flap its wings, and the pressure of gravity beginning to fade. He cracked open an eye, seeing the landscape flying by.
“W-We’re flying! WE’RE FLYING!!”
Feeling the wind in his hair, seeing the world blur past…he had missed this. He had grown so used to flying on Staraptor back home, it had become so mundane. But this? This was a completely different ballpark.
“W-We can fly to Jubilife from here! It shouldn’t be that far- Mystery, fly us to the top of Mount Coronet!” he commanded.
Behind them came a screech. Barry spun around, seeing that the enormous bird Sabi commanded, a gliscor, and a crobat was currently tailing them.
“UH-”
Barry couldn’t exactly start a pokemon battle in the sky. A sky battle? That sounded incredibly stupid. Instead, Barry rummaged through his bag and started throwing things. The rocks and sticks and other random items that Snacks had brought him proved excellent ammo.
Unfortunately, this only caused annoyance. Both for the pokemon pursuing them and for Mystery.
Mystery cawed and cawed nonstop, Barry meekly closing his bag and wrapping his arms around the bird’s neck once more, which finally seemed to pacify it.
Then, in a swift motion, Mystery rolled onto its back, slashing at the crobat with its talons. And with another swipe, slashed at the gliscor.
As Mystery rolled back, the crobat and gliscor retreated.
Only the enormous bird remained.
Mystery and Barry darted through the mountains, trying to shake the bird off their trail and to form some sort of sense of direction. But even the fanciest of tricks couldn’t get rid of it.
Regardless, Mystery darted through a cloud layer and emerged out the top, slowly circling the peak of Mount Coronet.
The first thing Barry set his eyes upon was the swirling vortex in the sky; a blackened, gaping wound that bled lightning and thunder. That same, terrible unease from before gripped Barry’s entire rib cage and began to squeeeeeze.
After some effort, Barry tore his gaze away. “Spear Pillar should be-huh?”
In Spear Pillar’s place was…well, a temple. Carved marble columns, statues, a stone roof- it was like someone came and fixed Spear Pillar overnight.
“I…I guess Cyrus likes old architecture?” It’d certainly fit him, Cyrus looked ancient.
“Those are the stairs! And they face North!” said Barry, pointing at the landmark. He then did some mental triangulation, using the tried and true method of ‘Never Eat Soggy Wurmples’, Barry was able to mentally map out where Jubilife should be.
“Mystery! We gotta head Southwest! We should hit Jubilife-”
Bursting from the clouds like a Sharpedo out of water, the giant bird screeched as it tried to grab the two with its claws.
Mystery screamed back, loud enough to hurt Barry’s ears (Snarl, maybe? Could Honchkrow learn Snarl?) and to make the bird hesitate. And within this hesitation, Mystery dashed forward, talons raised in attack.
Barry almost felt bad. But at this point he was just a passenger on this flight.
With a pained whimper, the enormous bird sank below the clouds, defeated.
Barry stroked Mystery’s chest feathers. “Let’s head out of here before it comes back. Onward! To Jubilife!”

for pearl - Gempearl HC10 Fanfic

Status: Completed Oneshot
Word Count: 3,299
Summary: Pearl received an unsigned book and quill through the mail system with his name on it. When she looked inside, she found a rhyming clue, sparking her curiosity about what might be at the end of the scavenger hunt one of the Hermits had put her on. What could she do, not follow it?
This was written for @welcome-back-to-hoimycraf through the @mcyt-summer-of-yuri exchange! Click on the AO3 link above or look under the cut to read it ^^
If you like it, please consider reblogging, kudosing/liking, and/or commenting :D
“Bap, bap, bap, bop, bip, bappity boop,” Pearl vocal stimmed as he skipped around his base to finish various odd tasks he’d been previously neglecting. The other Hermits were well used to Pearl’s silly little noises so she didn’t bother to suppress herself. Even if they weren’t, she was alone right now, so she wouldn’t have anyway.
Today was shaping out to be a great day! His meeting with Etho and Tango about the Post Office went well; stamp sales have been at an all time high now that more Hermits had mailboxes installed; his shops in the shopping district had produced many diamonds, and he had woken up with Gem by his side that morning. How could it get better?
She and Gem had been dating for a while now, and Pearl couldn’t be happier. Pearl wasn’t a part of the Magic Mountain crew, but she was still fairly close to where Gem lived! Their chosen locations being close to each other on this home server wasn’t intentional, but it pleased them both to not be too far away from one another.
Pearl’s thoughts had drifted off from postmaster business to Gem, her amazing, stunning, incredibly talented girlfriend. She was so engulfed by her thoughts that she almost didn’t notice that the light was on at her mailbox.
His blue eyes lit up in a way similar to the redstone lamp of the mailbox, excited at the prospect of someone sending him something even though it had happened many times before. Pearl wasn’t sure he would ever get over it, but he didn’t exactly want to. The mailboxes were crazy cool and it had given her a new purpose after her previous self-assigned job! His last home server allowed for some lovely cleaning lady hours, but this server was a chance to change things up and free himself from his obligations of tidying up other people’s chests, shulkers, and bases.
Pearl opened the barrel to see what had arrived, only to find a leatherbound journal with an ink-based pen attached to it— a book and quill. She could tell it was unsigned by the existence of the pen because, if it were signed, the content inside couldn’t be altered or edited anymore. Signing a book would display the author’s name and the pen would disappear as a result.
She knew that the book was meant for her, though, because it was labeled “For Pearl” in brightly highlighted (likely with glow squid ink) elegant script. The pages were all blank aside from the first, which read:
Clue #1 In the lighthouse near the sea Quench your curiosity
Pearl furrowed his eyebrows, rereading the clue several times. Whoever sent the book had created a rhyme and labeled it as the first of an assumed series, so Pearl guessed she was being sent on a scavenger hunt of sorts. Oh, this was going to be so fun, wasn’t it?
“Okay, so let me just have a little think, thonk, bonk,” Pearl murmured to herself, rubbing her chin in thought. “Gem has a lighthouse, but all that’s in there is her… oh!”
Pearl gasped as recognition sparked within him. She had received her first clue in the mailbox, so maybe all the clues would be in various mailboxes? Whoever had thought this up really picked the best person to do this to, knowing Pearl’s love of her role as postmaster. If not her, Etho or Tango would have been good candidates as well since they were in charge of actually building the mailboxes, but Pearl was pleased that she had been chosen.
He checked the straps on his elytra to make sure they were secure before retrieving some flight rockets from his inventory. As he mentioned before, Gem’s base wasn’t too far away.
“Gem?” Pearl called out as she arrived, hoping to catch a glimpse of her girlfriend. After a brief look around, Pearl concluded that she wasn’t there. She must be off collecting coral, visiting someone else, or doing something at the shopping district. According to the log list on her communicator, she hadn’t gone to visit another server. Ooo, maybe Gem was restocking her pickle shop! Pearl would have to make sure to check that later and bring some diamonds along.
As much as Pearl wanted to see Gem, he would see her later, so it was alright that she wasn’t here. Pearl tucked the flight rockets away as he approached the lighthouse. It was tall and striped with white and gray, and there were two floating fish that endlessly circled it. The floating fish put her off at first, but Pearl thought Gem did a rather lovely job with the build.
Gem had Etho, she believed, alter the mailbox slightly to change the color of the beam when mail had arrived. Considering the beam was currently red, Pearl knew there was something inside before she saw the redstone lamp lit or looked inside the barrel itself. Still, though, Pearl had no idea if the clue would be there because Gem had received mail from other Hermits in the past so it would make sense if there were still some waiting for her.
Pearl was right, of course, that Gem had received some packages from other Hermits, but only one was labeled “For Pearl”. Eagerly, Pearl pulled it out, leaving the others undisturbed, and flipped open to the first page.
Clue #2 Whimsical colors and moving parts Keep walking and appreciate the arts
Now this clue was more vague than the first. As far as Pearl knew, Gem was the only one with a lighthouse on the server. Whimsical colors, moving parts, and artistic whatevers were attributes that could describe several other Hermit bases.
“What Hermits even have mailboxes? I know some don’t have theirs yet. Ugh, why can’t I remember?” Pearl groaned as he plopped down on the ground near Gem’s mailbox to examine the text further. She tilted her head at the words before flipping the book around every which way, trying to see if she could see it from a different angle. “Whimsical colors and moving parts, keep walking and– keep walking! Cub’s firework factory?” Pearl scurried up to her feet, pulling out the flight rockets again and exiting the lighthouse as quickly as she could to go see if her suspicion was correct. The door to Cub’s factory opened automatically when one walked toward it and Cub happened to have his mailbox set up in there! The fireworks were whimsical colors! Or perhaps the dye all over Cub’s lab coat… who knows, maybe it was in reference to both things.
As Pearl flew, she noticed her rocket supply was running low. She scrunched her nose for only a moment, silently hoping that Cub would be at his base. Her comm did say he was on the server. “Cub?”
“Yeah?” Cub responded questioningly, hearing her as soon as she landed and came into earshot.
Pearl didn’t see Cub at first, but she took a low risk gamble and walked towards the doors to the factory. They opened as soon as the skulk sensors heard her approach, revealing Cub to her. “I just need to check your mailbox real quick and hopefully trade for some flight rockets, if you got any on you?” “Cool, cool, yeah, I got some on me.” Cub pulled out something (assumingly the rockets) from his inventory as he spoke, but his tone turned confused as Pearl darted over to his mailbox. “Is something wrong with it?”
“Yes, it’s here!” Pearl squeaked excitedly, hugging the book to her chest. The scavenger hunt was low stakes, from what she knew, but two clues in and she was having so much fun. Pearl held out the book to Cub to show him the label that displayed her name, promptly and enthusiastically rambling off the gist for him. “Someone is sending me on a scavenger hunt using people’s mailboxes! Isn’t that so ahhh?”
“That’s awesome, dude.” Cub relaxed now that he knew nothing was wrong. “I wouldn’t have thought of doing that type of thing, like, not in that way. What does it say?” “I haven’t read it yet.” Pearl shifted her attention to the first page to read the next clue.
Clue #3 It is not over yet, don’t you grumble Tip your hat off at the concrete jungle
“‘Grumble,’” Pearl repeated with an amused snort after reading the clue out loud for Cub. “Ha! As if! I’m having a blast.” “Have you gone to Impulse’s cyberpunk city yet?” Cub inquired before explaining himself, “The door near his mailbox is activated by the noise removing a piece of armor makes.” “Tipping your hat would refer to your helmet!” Pearl connected with a grin. “And Impulse’s base is very- oh, I think you’re right. This is absolutely bonkers.”
Cub handed over the rockets that Pearl requested to her before she had a chance to fly off and forget about them. “Just send me payment later through the mailbox, along with a letter of how it went. Or you can just visit me, either or.” “Will do, Cub! Thanks!” Pearl accepted the rockets eagerly. Not wasting any more time, she started running toward the door, giving Cub a two-fingered goodbye salute before blasting off to fly back toward Magic Mountain. Going from Gem’s base to Impulse’s may have saved rockets in the short term, but sending her to Cub’s base was a smart move because it made her check her rocket supply. It worked out perfectly! Whoever had set this up had done it well, or perhaps it was simply a coincidence.
Pearl didn’t bother to call for Impulse, not really needing to grab his attention for anything. In all honesty, she just wanted to retrieve the clue, figure out where she was heading to next, and go there. Anticipation for what was at the end of all of this was only increasing as time went on.
Approaching the door, Pearl tipped off his postmaster hat with an unnecessarily fancy little bow. The removal of her hat triggered the skulk sensors, opening the door and giving her access to the room with Impulse’s mailbox. The redstone lamp was lit, though that fact was only noted in passing as Pearl opened the barrel to read the next clue.
Clue #4 You’re almost there, you’ve followed the trail See what awaits among the mail
“Does that mean the next mailbox contains my prize?” Pearl wondered aloud, speaking to no one but herself. She read over it one more time and, while it may seem vague, it made complete sense to her. All the clues were hidden in mailboxes, yes, but there was one place in particular that was the hub for all things mail: her post office.
Pearl paused for a moment, rechecking the barrel in Impulse’s mailbox again to make sure the clue didn’t mean the mail at the current mailbox. None of the other mail was hers; they were all waiting for Impulse to come back to their shared home server (her comm marked him off server), making Pearl even more certain of her theory.
He didn’t waste any more time to make the flight to the post office, flying right up to the entrance and running inside. Pearl didn’t pay attention to her surroundings as she tugged open the barrel unceremoniously, expecting to find another book. Instead, the barrel was empty besides a singular note. “‘Turn around’?” Pearl read off the piece of paper in a questioning tone as he did what the note said to do. Her eyes widened, mouth falling ajar as she dropped the paper in surprise when she recognized Gem’s ginger red hair, partly tied up into familiar space buns. This was notable because, recently, Gem had been styling her hair down with a dark blue bandana wrapped around her head and blue beads at the ends of small braids on the sides. The partly-up space buns was what she had her hair styled in when they officially got together.
She wasn’t standing at her full height, which wasn’t very tall to start with; Pearl was taller than she was. Gem had been on testosterone blockers longer than she had been taking her daily estrogen pills, so the effect wasn’t surprising and was, in fact, desired. Out of all the Hermits, she was fairly short, but there were others (such as Grian, Bdubs, and Tango) who were around her height.
Gem was down on one knee with a ring box in her hands. She flashed him a somewhat nervous smile, her teeth sharper than usual from the lore magic of this world. It was the same magic that gave Pearl salmon-esque features when she went swimming or that gave Gem her currently twitching ear fins.
The ring box made a soft sound as it was snapped open, revealing a white gold ring. Inlaid in the middle of the ring was a deep green emerald with a crescent moon bordering the gemstone’s edges, alongside much tinier emeralds and diamonds resembling stars in the night sky. It was stunning, much better than what he had thought his engagement ring would look like in his dreams. Gem knew him so well.
“Pearlescent Moon, will you marry me?” Gem asked after letting Pearl get over her initial shock.
Pearl squealed enthusiastically, practically jumping where she stood as her arms flailed as they pleased. “Yes! Yes, I will marry you. Void, I hadn’t expected this- I-” A baffled but extremely pleased laugh left Gem’s lips as she took the ring out of the box to slip on Pearl’s ring finger. “Perfect fit.”
Pearl held out her hand to properly examine its beauty, her grin so wide it hurt her cheeks, but she didn’t care. Now that the ring was on and Pearl had accepted Gem’s proposal, Gem got to her feet. Pearl didn’t give her much time to catch her balance because he embraced her tightly. He pulled away enough to kiss her stupid, the air around them euphoric and blissful.
They were both breathless by the time the kiss broke, smiles seemingly permanent features of their faces now. Pearl swept Gem off her feet, causing her to squeak in surprise as she was hoisted up to be held bridal style. Pearl kept Gem in her arms as she twirled them around, elated giggles filling up the room.
“So, did you like my little scavenger hunt?” Gem had her arms wrapped around Pearl’s neck, content with the closeness and position she was in.
“It was absolutely lovely; I had a spectacular time flying around to the mail boxes,” Pearl assured her, genuinely meaning her words. “Fantastic! I nailed it! Totally nailed it,” Gem cheered, congratulating herself. “I would have done more clues, but I didn’t have much time to come up with rhyming clues, set it all up, and get everything else done that I had to do after I left this morning. I stayed at your base longer than I intended. Did you know it was me?”
“I had a suspicion, but you sent me to your base first, so I thought that you wouldn’t have done that if it was you,” Pearl explained her line of logic. “I didn’t try too hard to figure out who it was, though. I was mostly focused on the hunt; kinda zeroed in for a second there. You totally ruined my plan, though.”
Gem tilted her head curiously, ear fins perking up alert. “I did? How?”
“Well,” Pearl started with a click of her tongue as she let Gem down from her hold. Gem started to jump around in enthusiastic movements to get some of her overjoyed energy out, but it didn’t bother or phase Pearl; he knew she was listening. “I was planning to propose to you at some point, but I was waiting for a good moment. I would keep forgetting about it, but when I would notice it in my inventory, it was always an awkward or bad moment.” “Does that mean you have it on you?” Gem stopped her wide-ranged movements to stay mostly in one spot, green eyes shining as brightly as the emerald in sunlight.
Pearl pursed her lips, unsure of the answer to that question. He opened his inventory instead of responding, eyes scanning the rows until it landed on a ring. She selected it and it materialized in her open hand, as it was designed to. Pearl pinched the bottom of the ring in between her fingers to show off the pearl partly encased in gold. “I didn’t get a box for it and it’s not as detailed as what you gave me, but I made it myself.”
“You did?” Gem marveled at the ring that Pearl slipped onto her ring finger. “You did such a great job! I love it! I didn’t know you could make jewelry.” “It was a secret, so you wouldn’t have known.” Pearl shrugged with a light chuckle, glancing away for only a moment. “I went off-server to get lessons from Fwhip to learn how to make it. He’s apparently pretty good at that sort of stuff. Scott recommended him to me.”
“He did spend a lot of time in the forge when we shared a home server a bit ago,” Gem recalled the first Empires home server where she and Fwhip were twins (lore magic loved to flex its influence in strange yet usually fun ways) and became very close, “so I’m not surprised. Did you know I visited him and some of the others on SOS recently? I traveled with Joel when he crossed over just the other day– I’m surprised Fwhip managed to keep it a secret from me, though! We talked for such a long time as he showed me around his base.”
“I told Fwhip not to and he knows better than to cross me.” Pearl might have said more, but Gem lept on him. She legitimately leapt up, legs wrapping around his waist and arms around his shoulders.
“I love you so much, Pearl.” Gem peppered kisses all over Pearl’s face, hands getting tangled in Pearl’s long brunette and blonde streaked hair. “My fiancé.”
“I love you too.” Pearl could feel her heart swell at the new term for their relationship. He pulled Gem tight against him, never wanting to let her go. “Now, come on, let's head back to my base. I want to store these clues away somewhere special for safe keeping!” “But I don’t wanna let go,” Gem pouted, burying her face into Pearl’s shoulder. She could be fairly independent and constantly wander away without meaning to at times, but it was also commonplace for her to get extremely clingy as well. Honestly, it was a flip of the coin of what sort of Gem one was going to get that day.
Pearl considered the distance between her post office and her base. She hadn’t built them too far apart so, hypothetically, she could just walk with Gem in her arms all the way back. He tilted his chin down to try and get a better look of his bride-to-be, scratching his fingers in her hair. She sighed softly, shaking her head in a “the things I would do for this beautiful idiot” sort of way. “Okay, hold on tight. I’ll walk us home.” “Yay!” Pearl could feel Gem’s grin against the skin of her neck, which made everything worth it. It was worth it already, but Gem’s smile would always be perfectly sweet icing on the cake.
Pearl was proud of herself for finishing everything she had needed to do today, for now she could spend the rest of the day with the person she would spend the rest of her existence with, her betrothed, Gemini Tay.

What kind of rings do Lucemond have in the MD modern au??? (I’m going to get married soon and ring shopping with my fiancé is exciting)
BTW thanks for the new update of first class… I was rereading it just last week!
oh my GOSHHHH congrats anon !!! wishing you all the best <33
modern lucemond don’t like gaudy jewelry and they are also gold metal people. luke has something simple and dainty, he doesn’t want a massive rock that could get on stuff and isn’t a diamond person. he’s def a pearl boy, or even a sapphire bc of course
aemond gets a simple band but it’s definitely engraved and has cool metal working. he wants something different that can display his wealth but simple enough that he doesn’t think it looks tacky

MAN i am so close to getting the next part of BU written, im like at the very end of the chapter but im having a hard time wrapping it up, i think because i Know that means then i have to do the pictures 😂
the chapter kinda started off as a freewriting thing, a pwp i wasn't planning on sharing, but then i realized it Could actually be a good filler chapter, and once that happened i was like oh i can't write anymore 😅
but i added a few plotty things, including a conversation i wanted ed and stede to have re: ed's transmogrification which i think is important, and ed giving stede a pearl he finds. he's bringing stede little trinkets like a kitty bringing gifts. mermaids are just big cats 2 me.
Tumblr media
and then stede starts calling ed his pearl, etc etc
i WANT TO want to write, i want to keep creating this fic, i love it so much, it's my passion project etc, but i am just having such a hard time with it lately! i am rly trying to follow this advice and be gentle w myself and not push it, but it's hard! i worry that by the time i Really feel like doing it again, anyone who was interested will have moved on. i compare myself to other ppl too often, and i feel like holy shit ive been working on this for over 2 years, i should have SO MUCH more to show for the amount of time i put into it 💀
and then ofc i always doubt myself, like this isn't good, ppl are just reading it because they are my friends/feel sorry for me, the sims stuff is Cringe and im so amateur and embarrassing and everything i do sucks!!!
but also ive been rereading the fic during downtime at work, just to try and get a feel for it again, and im like oh, this is actually NOT awful? and it's making me like hmmmmm maybe i WILL get back into this....... i really do love it. i love reading it. and that's so important, i think. i like what i create, even tho i am also convinced no one else will. idk when my self confidence fuckin TANKED man but i think so little of myself and i hate that! i wanna think im the shit. or at least okay.
anyway idk what im even talking abt anymore, lmfao, just. fic stuff!!! being obsessive abt stuff. fandom stuff! i'm thinking abt taking an edible later and then trying to churn out the rest of the chapter so i at least have the framework to edit but idk, i rly AM also trying not to force it. i have ts4 open still from making my new icon/header and im like hmmm i could load my photoshoot save and start working on the pics.... but idk.
i HAVE gotten really into diamond painting over the past month or so, tho, and i think having another hobby, one that isn't tied to the internet in general, is rly helping me balance some things a bit more. here are a few pics of things ive made:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
ive even ordered a custom ofmd kit, using one of ann's edits as the picture, im soooooo excited for it to arrive!!! ive been rly obsessive abt this since i started, but it's rly relaxing? it makes my mind go (white noise static sound) and rly helps me forget abt being anxious. but then i can also end up getting anxious about doing it Too Much, but that's a whole other can of worms re childhood trauma etc etc w/e
this turned into kinda a life update post lmfao, i just wanted to untangle some fic thoughts but it got away from me. oh well! idk thanks if u read this and thanks if u read my fic, i promise i haven't forgotten abt it 🧜‍♂️
