yuji says he's on their side now, but reina is still a little hesitant to interact with @diaboelic, but now she's quite literally forced to as they're paired together to watch over the school grounds while the rest of the remaining sorcerers rest and compose a plan to move forward. awkwardly, reina shifts between her feet, side glancing towards choso now and again before finally parting her lips to speak. " your hair is pretty cool styled like that... "

everything was still so fresh on his mind , scars that would never heal and memories that’d always remain strong. it wasn’t so bad. we are jujutsu sorcerers. you’re me. the words echo in his mind like an ache he couldn’t get rid of. permanently attached but it seemed to be the only thing fueling him now. he was alive by some chance , he wasn’t dead yet. maybe he should be — that split second of relief he’d felt when the blade went through him. he needed to keep fighting though , did he not ? he’s just a cog in the machine and nothing more. a vessel that needs to serve a purpose. it was selfish of him to think he’d get such an easy way out of this.
he had so much to do , so many lives left to fight for. he needed to do this for nobara and for papamin who , from what he knew , was barely hanging on. he hadn’t seen him since it happened. he was already a murderer. that much is true. but he couldn’t let himself be any more of a failure than he already was. eyes come into focus and he stares at the fire before him. he was still wearing the same blood stained shirt but his jacket was off. absently he scratches at his arm when he hears the other speak.
❛ sorry to put you through that. i guess i owe you one now. ❜ / @diaboelic
❛❛ it’s fine , you didn’t have a choice in the matter. ❜❜ his expression remained as numb as the rest of him. his shoulders drop and his mind tries to catch up with the situation. he briefly wonders where everyone else was , choso and megumi and even todo. it was all just a mess with him left to blame. ❛❛ so what now ? i can’t return. i can’t — ❜❜ with a heavy pause he pulls a leg up to his chest and lets out a breath he didn’t know he’d been holding. after avoiding it he finally makes eye contact if even for just a moment. ❛❛ i can’t go back. not with what i’ve done. ❜❜

he comes out and says it, the exact thing a lot of the remaining sorcerers were concerned about. it has reina cringing slightly, glancing sidewards to avoid his gaze for a moment. " well - uh... umm... " how could she tell him that he was right without sounding mean? because that was the very reason everyone seemed reluctant to trust him.
" unfortunately, that's true. you may not value human life very much but... we are all humans here, so i guess it's natural to be scared of you a little. or even just weary. " it was a shame, perhaps if it weren't mahito who got to him and his brothers first things would be different. the outcome would have been different. " but don't worry. talking to you now, you seem like a very nice person. the entire situation was just... circumstantial? if that's the right word for this... does this even make any sense...? " internally, she wanders off to somewhere in her mind, trying to determine if her little speech was any good or if she just embarrassed herself.
her studious gaze has him wanting to retreat inwards; as if he had unwittingly invited judgement unto himself. supposes, yes, he has. as she scans, he remains unflinching despite his disappointment, awaiting the impending criticism. chōsō stares at the two blonde pigtails atop her head in the meantime; her style, by comparison, wasn't as traditional or commonplace as most other sorcerers and non - sorcerers alike. he quite liked it, in truth.
“ but because i killed humans, ” he interjects, despite appreciating her apparent attempt at . . . relieving his anxiety⸻ if that's what it was. he shifts, “ it's the elephant in the room, isn't it? i won't deny it. ”

immediately her eyes drift to his hair, blonde brows furrowing as her features once again give away every single thought in her head. his hair wasn't weird, that wouldn't have gotten him strange looks. instead, dark hues drift to the thick horizontal mark across his nose. that, however, could get him some looks. ( or the fact he was helping curses kill people, that was also a biggie. ) but then again, reina got strange looks all the time. when she realises she must have been making some weird expression at the boy, her lips reluctantly pull into a tender smile. " well, i know a thing or two about getting strange looks from people. you don't look any stranger than i do. " perhaps that was a lie, he wasn't wearing shoes that added a good five or six inches of height, nor was he littered with cursed jewellery and just inconvenient attire. but that was just reina. " i suppose it could have also been a few other reasons... i wouldn't look at you strangely because of your hair. or your appearance for that matter. "
the tension between himself and the rest of itadori yūji's jujutsu sorcerer friends was undeniable. proving his loyalties through actions rather than words was easy enough, but . . . no one told him the words part would be so difficult. the sorcerer next to him is no exception to his perpetual and hopefully transitory awkwardness. she beats him to the punch, actually, which . . . stumps him, briefly. he had expected something less than pleasant. “ hm? thank you. most people look at me strangely because of it. yours is . . . ' pretty cool ' too. ”
