Logbook Term 1 (akademis)

Pada semester ini saya mengambil 12 SKS mata kuliah wajib yang telah dipilihkan langsung oleh program studi. Tingkat kehadiran saya 100% untuk masing-masing mata kuliah yang dapat diakses melalui kanal digital dari perguruan tinggi https://akademik.itb.ac.id/app/mahasiswa:25823004/statusmhs. Mulai pekan 9-13 Oktober 2023 mulai memasuki periode UTS yang dapat bersifat take home test, close book maupun open book. Saya mengambil 4 mata kuliah wajib yang masing-masing memiliki bobot 3 SKS. Mata kuliah pertama adalah Hidraulika dan Angkutan Sedimen yang diampu oleh 2 dosen sekaligus yaitu Prof Indratmo dan Pak Joko Nugroho. Pada mata kuliah ini telah diberikan 3 tugas dimana 2 diantaranya merupakan tugas individu dan sisanya merupakan tugas kelompok yang dikerjakan bersama 1 orang teman lainnya. Mata kuliah kedua yaitu Hidrologi Lanjut yang diampu oleh Pak Hadi Kardhana. Pada mata kuliah ini menggabungkan teori terkait hidrologi dan penerapannya menggunakan pemograman Phyton. Mata kuliah selanjutnya adalah Analisis Sistem dan Pengambilan Keputusan dan Metode Numerik dan Elemen Hingga yang diampu oleh Pak Dhemi Harlan. Pada mata kuliah ini belajar banyak terkait penerapan matematis dalam pengambilan keputusan maupun dalam proses penelitian. Kedua mata kuliah ini hampir tiap pekan memiliki tugas individu yang perlu dikerjakan dan dikumpulkan pada pekan selanjutnya. Meskipun berat, saya merasa dengan adanya tugas individu ini membuat saya menjadi lebih paham isi materi dari mata kuliah ini.

What is your full name?

“Dhemswys Swarnahctwyn, of the Shadow Hunters of the Northern Seas.” She says, and shifts a bit awkwardly. “Dhemswys will do, anyways. I’m still too young to be a full-fledged Shadow Hunter.”

What do your friends call you?

“Most of my comrades call me ‘Dhemie’.” She shrugs a little. “My name isn’t as hard to pronounce as other Roegadyn names, but still. I don’t mind, though.”

What is your favorite animal?

“Oh, hum...” She ponders the question. “Sharks, I would say.”

Where were you born?

“I was born in the northern islands, one of the few relatively safe places that remain in our world. It’s kind of a headquarters of sorts for our order, and from there the Shadow Hunters target places under Nihil attack.”

Do you have children?

“What? No, no-- I mean, I’m only eighteen years old.” She is taken aback.

Is there a person/people you love?

“No, not besides my family...”

What is your favorite color?

“I like black.”

What is your full occupation?

“My family belongs to the Shadow Hunters, and I’ve trained to become one all my life... though I’m still too young.” She admits reluctantly. “I came to Eorzea to choose a discipline of arms and I ended up in Ishgard, where I became a full-fledged dragoon. It wasn’t easy, because I’m a Roegadyn, but fortunately Ishgard wasn’t as bigoted as it was centuries ago. And then, while training in Vylbrand, I met Nagi and her sister and became one of her Guardians of Shadow.”

Are you good at physical fighting?

“I think I am. Even if I’m short for a Roegadyn, I’m agile and fast.”

Which form are you best at?

“As I said, I’m a dragoon.” She tilts her head. “I’m best when swinging a lance.”

What about magic?

“That’s not what I do best.” She admits. “I’m much better when fighting at close range.”

Which type are you best at?

“Well, I wouldn’t say I’m at the level of the legendary Azure Dragoon of the past or the Warrior of Light, who is rumored to have had dragonblood, but I can wield a Gae Bolg and use dragon techniques, so I guess it counts as some sort of magic.”

Craftsmanship?

“Nothing in particular, besides smithing and armorcraft.”

Any other skills?

“The Echo gives me great agility, and that allows me to leap higher and further than your regular dragoon.” She explains. “And since my Shadow Crystal is Wind-elemental, I can use its powers to exploit it.”

Are you an only child?

“I have an older sister, Trachswys.” She slightly shifts. “She’s a full-fledged Shadow Hunter, unlike me.”

Where do you see yourself in five years?

“In the world of the past there were no Shadow Hunters, so I don’t know if I could become one there.” She frowns. “The order was founded to fight the Nihil, so if we are to prevent their coming... Don’t know. Maybe I should found it when everything is over.”

Have you ever almost died?

“Our training is hard, and we’re trained to face extreme danger, so yes, more than once. Not as much as official Shadow Hunters, I’d wager, but still.”

Do you have a secret, not just a secret, but like a really big secret hardly anyone knows?

“...” She moves her feet a bit. “I tend to introduce myself as a Shadow Hunter, even if I’m not one yet.”

Salty or sweet?

"Salty. I’m used to it, having been born in a rather secluded island.”

Do you like yourself?

"Uhm...” She takes some seconds to reply. “Kind of?”

Do you believe in the Twelve?

"Yes, to an extent. I spent two years in Ishgard, so I had to hear their prattling about Halone almost every day. But I don’t believe they care much about the world or the people.”

Are you religious?

"Shadow Hunters believe that the gods have failed and let the world be consumed by gloom and invaded by the Nihil, so the key to save the star resides in we people. So no, I’m not religious.”

Do you carry prejudice with you?

“I side-eye a bit priests and religion, but that’s just because I think they place their faith in the wrong hands.”

What do you consider entertainment?

“Uhm...” She fumbles with her fingers. “Dancing. I like dancing when no one is watching. Don’t tell anyone.”

Favorite drink?

“In Ishgard, there’s this sweet drink, heavenly eggnog. I took a liking to that one, it’s great compared with the rather sour drinks in the north.”

Do you have any family traditions?

"Chasing down Nihil might be the most important we had...” She shrugs.

Are you a good person?

“I know I don’t talk much and that I look spiky and harsh because I’m a dragoon and a Shadow Hunter, but overall I think I’m not bad?” She shifts awkwardly. “I think. We try to protect the people. That doesn’t make us perfect, nor kind, but we’re not bad.”
