From Rivalry to becoming Family || Alessia Russo x German!reader (Frankfurt!Reader)
Summary: When you and Alessia get engaged, you decide to celebrate this milestone with both of your national teams. What starts as a union between two people becomes a beautiful transformation from the rivalry of the Euros 2022 into a bond that feels like family.
a/n: throwback to the most painful day ever as a german. ich hoffe ich habe deine request gut umgesetzt <3 danke für deine worte!! i hope its okay i wrote also about how they got together.
wc: 1,4k | from this request
warnings : nothing just fluff except for mentioning the euros final
"Y/N! Are you finally done?" Alessia shouts through the house for the third time, trying her best to stay patient while waiting downstairs for her fiancée.
"Babe, relax. We won’t be late; everything’s going to work out," I reassure her, descending the stairs to join her.
Four days ago marked one of the best days of our lives.
After two and a half years of dating, Alessia finally asked me to be her wife. And, of course, I said yes.
It all began during the Euros in 2022. Alessia and I couldn’t be more different when it comes to our nationalities. Keeping our relationship private was tough, especially when we faced each other in the final. But at least we knew one of us would be celebrating that night.
The day after the final was when we finally told our teammates about our relationship. Since that day, the rivalry between England and Germany hasn’t felt quite as intense (even though we all know Germany is the better team).
"We’re going to be late if you spend another hour deciding which shoes match your dress," Alessia says, her impatience bubbling over as she watches me.
"I'm done! What do you think of my outfit?" I ask, turning to face her. Alessia’s eyes widen as she takes in the sight of me.
"Wow," she breathes, her expression full of admiration.
I feel my cheeks warm at her reaction. Even after two and a half years of being showered with her compliments, I still haven’t learned how to process them without blushing.
---------
When we arrive at the little beach house, everything is perfectly decorated, but no one is waiting for us. It’s a stark contrast to Alessia’s prediction that we’d be late because I took “so long.”
I can’t help but feel grateful that we managed to arrange this small party to celebrate such a special milestone in our relationship. Playing in different countries makes it difficult to maintain anything resembling a normal relationship, so it means the world that we were able to bring both of us—and all our national teammates—together for this one celebration.
----
The clock struck exactly 3:00 PM when the first guests arrived. Unsurprisingly, it was Alessia’s best friends, Lotte and Ella. My heart swelled with love as I saw how many people cared about Alessia enough to travel all the way to Denmark to celebrate with us.
"Ella! Lotte! I’m so glad you’re here," I exclaimed, pulling them into a tight hug. In the beginning of our relationship, spending time with Alessia’s friends felt a bit awkward—especially since they played for England. But they turned out to be the sweetest people, and I’d never felt more welcomed.
"I can’t believe she finally asked you," Lotte teased, rolling her eyes. "She must have called me a thousand times, asking if it was too early, too late, or what your answer might be. Honestly, thank you for saying yes!"
I couldn’t help but laugh as Alessia came over, resting her hand gently on my back and joining in to greet her friends. Moments like this reminded me just how lucky I was to be surrounded by so much love.
Here’s a polished and restructured version of your text:
I could hear two loud voices singing and laughing with Alessia, and I immediately knew who had just arrived.
"Y/N, go get your girls before Laura starts drinking all the champagne before nightfall," Alessia teased, flashing me a grin.
"My girls! There you are!" I exclaimed as I rushed over to greet them. "I’m so happy you both are here."
We were used to speaking English with each other, but it still felt amusing, given our shared history.
"I can’t believe my little girl is getting married to the blonde English striker," Sara said, her voice full of mock disbelief. "It’s still unbelievable how you kept it a secret. We all knew you had a crush on her—like, who didn’t? And then secretly meeting her after games... and now here we are. My lovebirds!"
Sara couldn’t stop smiling as she looked at Alessia, her words filled with warmth.
"Okay, Sara, enough is enough!" I interrupted, my cheeks turning crimson.
Alessia caught Sara’s eye and gave me a playful wink, which only made me blush harder.
-----
As time passed, more and more guests arrived, until all of our national teammates were finally here. My heart swelled with love as I watched Leah chatting animatedly with Lena and Mary exchanging tactics with Merle. After years of playing against each other, it felt surreal to see everyone coming together like one big family.
I wrapped my arm around Alessia, unable to stop myself from smiling. It was hard to believe how perfect my life felt in that moment. I was the luckiest woman alive, with the best fiancée by my side. (And let’s not forget—she won Arsenal's Goal and Player of the Month! How could I not feel proud?)
----
My eyes caught Ella as she stood up and cleared her throat, drawing everyone’s attention.
"When Alessia first told me she had a crush on Y/N, I already knew," she began with a soft smile. "Her eyes never lied when she looked at her. It didn’t matter if it was during tactical meetings while we analyzed other teams or when Y/N crossed our path on the way to different games. That same look was always there—an expression full of admiration."
Ella paused for a moment, her gaze shifting warmly between us. "I’ll save the big words for their wedding speech, but what I can already say is this: no one has ever made Alessia’s eyes sparkle the way you do. Thank you, Y/N, for making our Lessi the happiest girl on earth."
Ella fought back her tears, just like the rest of us. I smiled warmly at her, holding Alessia’s hand tightly in mine.
"She’s not the only one determined to make us all cry tonight," I said, glancing over at Laura. My heart immediately swelled with emotion. Laura wasn’t typically one for big words or grand displays of sentiment, so her standing up to speak meant the world to me.
"We didn’t win the Euros," Laura began, her voice steady yet filled with emotion, "but we won something even more special—new friendships. And most importantly, my best friend found the love of her life."
She paused, her gaze flicking between Alessia and me, a gentle smile gracing her face. "Whether it’s singing ‘Sweet Caroline’ in a karaoke bar or cheering for you at the Emirates, know that it’s always from the bottom of our hearts. Alessia, you are the first person I trust completely with Y/N’s heart, and I know it’s safe with you. Here’s to many more memories together. Cheers!"
Her words left the room in a silence filled with love and admiration before glasses clinked together in celebration. I couldn’t stop the tears from welling up as I squeezed Alessia’s hand, grateful beyond words for this moment.
I stood up, taking a moment to gather my thoughts before speaking on behalf of both of us.
"First of all, I need to thank our best friends for making us all cry and for finding the perfect words. You truly know how to touch our hearts. Thank you." I paused, looking around the room, feeling an overwhelming sense of gratitude.
"And we also want to thank all of you for being here today. We know it’s no small feat to find a free spot in our busy schedules, so we really appreciate you making the effort."
I smiled and raised my glass. "Please, enjoy the day, and let’s not drink too much!"
The laughter that followed helped ease the nerves in my chest, and I couldn’t help but feel thankful for everyone here, sharing in this special moment with us.
----
Alessia had her arms wrapped tightly around my waist as we swayed slowly to one of our favorite songs. Despite Leah’s role in music, today’s playlist wasn’t half bad.
"Thank you for spending the rest of my life with me," Alessia whispered softly in my ear, her words sending a warmth feeling through me.
"It’s a pleasure to spend it with you," I replied, my voice shy as I glanced at her. "I hope you liked today."
She smiled at me, her expression full of comfort. "I loved it today."
I leaned in closer "I love you."
May our story continue, forever.

Here’s To Hoping You’re Worth All My Time (I Hope You’re Worth My Time) | Lea Schüller
Tumblr media
warnings: some swear words, description of migraines in detail
word count: 4451
summary: five months after you and lea break up, you’re convinced you’ll never cross paths with her again. life has a funny way of bringing people back together though.
a/n: realised that if i want to read schülli fics, i have to write them so here we are 😊
Tumblr media
The headache started somewhere in the middle of your third class.
Rather gingerly, you rub your temples and try to ignore the pulsing pain. Despite your best efforts, the pain continues to grow till it’s clear that you are going to have one of your full blown migraines.
You get migraines every so often but with have gotten better at managing them over the years. The combination of cutting out caffeine, medication and getting enough sleep have worked so that the truly bad ones, the kind that keeps you incapacitated for hours have become few and far between.
One hasn’t happened for a while and you suppose, with a wince that you were inevitably due for one.
Now that it’s happening though, it is all you can do to text your classmate and tell her you won’t be able to make the rest of your classes.
The bright glare of your phone screen makes your head ache more fiercely. With squinted eyes and more than some difficulty that you read her reply in which she hopes you feel better soon and that she will convey your apologies to the professors.
That being done, you try and fail to focus back on your current class. By the end of it, you are desperate to go home and just lie down with all the lights off.
Normally you would take the bus but today even the thought of it is too much. A ride sharing service would be the quickest way back to your apartment.
The ride itself passes in a blur, nausea has begun to affect you and you spend the twenty minutes back to your apartment concentrating on trying not to throw up.
When the driver drops you off at your apartment, you stutter out a quick thank you before you run up the stairs, taking it two at a time to get to your bathroom.
Just in time too because you gag uncontrollably, whatever is left of your breakfast coming up unpleasantly.
You stay beside the toilet, coughing until your stomach somewhat uneasily settles.
With watering eyes, you stand up shakily to rinse your mouth and then reach for the bottle of Eletriptan that usually sits on the shelf above your sink.
Except that your hand closes around nothing. Your migraine medication isn’t there.
You stare at the empty space uncomprehendingly until it hits you.
It’s at the place where you babysit. Sometimes the parents would pay you extra to stay overnight with their kids when they had late night work functions. Last week you’d stayed over and brought your medication over as a precaution.
The family is nice and you know they would have no problem bringing over your Eletriptan if you asked. The problem is that they are currently on vacation in France.
You can actually picture where you left your bottle of medication. On the counter of their guest bedroom.
Blinking back tears of frustration and pain, you bite your lip. You hadn’t gone through a migraine without medication in years. Especially not one as severe as this.
‘Fuck.’ You say out loud.
‘Fuck.’ You repeat and then do the only thing you can do.
Going into the kitchen, you get a glass of water and take it into your bedroom.
Thankfully, the blinds are already closed so you don’t have to deal with the bright sunlight making your head hurt more than it currently is.
You manage two sips of water and then toe off your shoes, collapsing into bed.
Squeezing your eyes shut, you exhale and inhale, slowly counting to a hundred and then eventually to five hundred.
Everything is okay, you attempt to convince yourself as you start counting from one again.
You ignore the fact that even with your pills, your migraine usually takes an hour to subside. There’s no telling how long it will go on without the medicine.
Another deep breath in and out. Over and over again.
Somewhere in between, you briefly entertain the notion of going to a pharmacy and getting some over the counter migraine medicine instead. But none of that stuff has ever worked for you and even if you are distressed enough to try, you know you are in no condition to leave the house.
At the very least, the fierce ache in your head has not gotten worse. It isn’t better either though. It still feels like someone is stabbing you right between your eyes and god it hurts.
It’s nothing short of excruciating but there is nothing you can do except to keep your eyes closed, remind yourself to keep breathing through the pain and hope for the best.
Then you remember.
You have another bottle of Eletriptan. The one you left at Lea’s place.
Against your will, salty tears slip down your cheeks. Fucking hell.
It’s not as if you can get to it. You’re not able to go over and beg. Even if you are willing to go to that length, your pride would never allow it.
Lea had told you to get out. So you did. The end.
Besides, your ex is probably away for international break or an away game of sorts. The chances are high that she isn’t even in Munich right now.
That’s what you tell yourself as another agonising hour crawls by.
It’s been three hours since you first got back and you don’t know if you can take much more. A particularly harsh throb hits and that makes your decision for you.
With a weak sob, you cave and reach for your phone.
The brightness level is on the lowest setting but the sudden glare still has you scrunching your face in discomfort.
Finding Lea’s contact is as much as you hate it, easy. For some unknown reason, you hadn’t yet been able to bring yourself to delete it.
Tapping on it before you can second guess yourself, you put the call on speaker.
It rings and rings. To the point where you think she won’t answer.
Right when you are ready to admit defeat, a voice comes through, ‘Hello?’
‘Lea?’ You whisper.
‘No sorry, this is Obi. Lea’s not here right now. Can I take a message?’
You hesitate. You remember Obi, Lea’s brunette best friend. She’d been nice to you back when you were dating but telling her that you are practically pleading with Lea for your much needed medicine seems far too personal.
A few seconds of awkward silence pass and then there’s some muffled noise on the other end.
‘Hi it’s Lea. Sorry I took a bit.’
You don’t actually need her to introduce herself. The sound of her voice is etched in your memory, as clear as day.
Pausing again, you wonder if you should really do this. Lea could be stubborn and closed off sometimes but she had never been mean. As bad as things had ended between you both, there is surely no way that the striker’s changed so much that she would be cruel enough to withhold your medication.
That is, if she hadn’t simply thrown it away.
You’re taking too long to decide because the blonde tries again, ‘Hello? Is anyone there?’
‘It’s me.’ You softly answer.
‘Oh.’
She didn’t sound angry. Or annoyed. You’d take that.
‘I-I’m not interrupting anything am I?’
Your ex exhales quietly, ‘We’re kinda in the middle of a gym session.’
‘Sorry I wouldn’t be calling but I-I really need your help. It’s sort of an emergency.’
You wait for her to reply but nothing comes through.
Then rather steadily she asks, ‘What’s the emergency?’
Swallowing the last of your pride you say, ‘Um…Could you please run back to your place and get something for me?’
‘You want me to leave training the day before a big game to go back to my apartment and get something for you?’ Lea slowly states.
Wincing, you forget she can’t see you and nod. It sounds far worse when she puts it like that. Resignedly, you accept your fate of burying yourself back under your blankets and trying your hardest to sleep this migraine off.
‘You’re right. It’s stupid. I’m sorry for calling, I shouldn’t have asked. I’ll just-’
Lea cuts you off, ‘What is it?’
‘What?’
‘What do you need me to get?
You blink in surprise, ‘My Eletriptan. The migraine medication I take. I left a bottle of it at yours and um, never got it back. I don’t have another one presently and I need it.’
The forward lets out a breath and it is enough to have you wondering what the hell you are doing. Asking your ex that you had a far from amicable break up with, for a favour?
Quickly backtracking once more, you rush out, ‘It’s alright. You don’t have to. I’ll figure something out.’
‘No. It’s okay. You need it. I’m assuming you’re at home?’
‘Yeah.’ You breathe, hardly daring to believe your ears.
‘I’ll be there in half an hour. Lie down and close your eyes in the meantime.’
‘Okay.’ You manage.
It’s all you can get out.
Like Lea had requested, you stay laying down and let your eyes slip close.
They fly open again at the realisation that the blue eyed woman is actually coming over. Your apartment is in dire need of a good tidy up, the stress of the past few weeks, no doubt a factor into today’s pounding headache have left you behind in your cleaning.
Lea will definitely see the state of your place, a sharp contrast to her own which had always been neatly organised in the past. You think about getting up and trying to get rid of some of the mess but even the mere act of sitting up makes your head spin.
So you lie back down and keep your attention on breathing through the pain. The Bayern Munich player is just dropping off your bottle of pills. It’s not like she is going to stick around so why should you care?
Except that you do. You have always cared when it comes to Lea Schüller. Such is your weakness for her.
But any sort of movement has your body protesting so you have no choice but to stay very still, not moving from your spot as you drift in your own head. One deep breath in…and one deep breath out.
Till a soft, ‘Hey.’
You automatically try to sit up, a sharp whimper tumbling from your lips as the resulting pain shoots through your head.
Lea’s hand grabs onto your elbow, steadying you and she murmurs, ‘Take it easy. Just stay where you are alright?’
Forcing your eyes open, you take her in as best you can.
The same brilliant blue eyes, lean athlete’s build and shoulder length blonde hair. Still absolutely gorgeous.
You blink up at her and she asks, ‘How long have you been like this?’
It’s hard to think but you make an effort to do so.
‘Since two this afternoon?’
Lea’s eyes widen and she curses under her breath in her native language.
‘You’ve been like this for practically four hours?’
You make a poor attempt at shrugging, ‘Did you...?’
The striker snaps back into focus, ‘Course.’
She reaches into her jacket pocket and there in her hand, is a very precious bottle of prescription medication.
‘Two right?’ She asks even though she is already shaking the correct dosage out onto her palm.
You simply nod, struck speechless by the fact that she remembers.
The blonde makes sure you are sitting up and then carefully holds out your pills, along with the half drunk glass of water from your nightstand.
Staying upright just long enough to accept the medicine and swallow it with a mouthful of water, you soon lay back down amongst your pillows.
‘Thank you Lea.’ You hoarsely whisper.
‘You’re welcome.’ She says, with an expression you can’t quite place.
The pain in your head pulses but you know that is not the reason why you can’t read her because if you are being honest, she’s always been somewhat of a mystery to you.
Breathing in once, twice and then thrice, you realise that contrary to your earlier expectations, the German woman is not turning to leave right away.
‘I’m really sorry to have bothered you. I hope your game goes well tomorrow.’ You offer eventually.
Lea just keeps looking at you with that same indiscernible gaze.
After a long minute, she replies, ‘Thanks and it’s fine. We were doing my least favourite core workouts anyway.’
The striker glances down at her phone, obviously taking note of the time before she adds, ‘I should be getting back though. Obi can only cover for me for so long.’
‘Right. Sorry again to have pulled you away.’
Still, your ex doesn’t make any move to leave.
Instead, she twists the ring on her index finger around a few times and then says, ‘I’ll come back after the session to check on you. It shouldn’t take more than two hours.’
Your mouth drops open in shock.
‘You don’t need…It’s okay. Once the meds kick in, I’ll be alright. You know that.’
After all, this is not your first migraine that Lea’s experienced. When you were still together, she would put your head in her lap and run her fingers through your hair. It was soothing and calming and the tiny featherlight kisses she used to press to your forehead never failed to make you feel better.
But that was the past and well…you can hardly ask her to do that now.
‘No I do know. It’s just that…you look like shit.’
Lea’s words are blunt and she folds her arms across her chest, blue eyes seeming rather challenging as she continues, ‘You’re going to need actual food coming off this migraine and I’d bet you don’t have anything of the sort lying around here.’
You frown, thinking of the instant noodles that make up your pantry.
It’s the only answer your former girlfriend needs because she repeats more or less of what she’d verbalised earlier, in a tone that leaves no room for argument.
‘I’ll be back in less than two hours. In the meantime, try to sleep.’
Then she’s gone. Disappearing just as suddenly as she’d appeared.
Too exhausted to try and figure her and what the fuck has just happened out, you bury your head under a pillow to block it all out.
You know the drill now. To get through a bad migraine, you need to stay very very still. Any movement would do you no good.
Count to a hundred, breathing in and out all the while. Reach five hundred, reset your counting and keep taking in deep breaths.
It takes another hour but slowly, the Eletriptan begins to work. Little by little, the headache recedes till you’re able to slip into a fitful sleep at last.
******
When you wake, your room is much darker than it was earlier. Not even the tiniest hint of sunlight peeks through your blinds.
After a few minutes, you decide that the pounding in your head has subsided enough movement to become feasible once more.
Sitting up warily, you catch sight of the time displayed on your alarm clock.
Abruptly, you remember that Lea has said she was coming back.
Wide awake now, you stop only to throw on a hoodie before opening your bedroom door. Someone is definitely here, you can see that your kitchen light is on.
Before you even get halfway down the hall, you smell something amazing…and familiar.
At the doorway to your kitchen, you pause just to look at Lea for a long moment.
For a fraction of a second, you wonder if your migraine had been so bad that you are coming up with new symptoms like hallucinations.
Then you dismiss the thought because food has never smelt so good. Not even in your wildest dreams.
She’s standing with her back to you, stirring a pot of what must be stew, made from her mother’s recipe.
She used to make that for you when you’d had a long day. The ensuing rush of nostalgia has you bracing a hand against the wooden frame of the door.
Your former girlfriend hasn’t physically changed much in the five months you have been apart, bar the new tattoo on her arm. Dressed in Bayern’s signature red training outfit and with her blonde hair pulled into a messy bun, she’s still all lean muscle, as tall and terribly attractive as she’s always been.
Now that your migraine has dulled, you are better able to appreciate exactly how stunning she is.
You watch her biceps flex as she begins to cut up some greens.
It was those well built arms that you had first fallen in love with. Not because of how fine a figure it gave her but because of how safe you had felt when she’d held you in them.
That’s all irrelevant now, swept to the side due to a more pressing issue. The one that is Lea Schüller standing in your kitchen.
Opening and closing your mouth, you manage to stutter out, ‘W-What are you doing?’
To her credit, the blonde doesn’t flinch.
Her voice is soft but sure when she answers without turning around, ‘Making dinner.’
‘I can see that…but why?’
‘Because you always feel like crap when you don’t have proper food coming off one of your migraines. The one you were having looked especially bad too.’
Two thoughts occur simultaneously. One, is Lea taking care of you? Two, what does this mean?
Detaching yourself from the kitchen doorway, you try to play off the way your heart rate is speeding up. Your head is spinning again, this time because of confusion instead of the headache.
‘You could have just dropped off takeout.’
Now, Lea deigns to look at you, stopping her cooking. Her eyes stay on you as she searches for something you don’t know.
She’s seemingly satisfied after a moment.
‘But I didn't, so here I am.’ She says evenly.
You don’t know how to answer that so you close the remaining distance to your little breakfast counter and take a seat there.
The German woman resumes her cooking and you find yourself questioning her ability to look so composed. How is she looking so at ease here, cooking stew in your kitchen, looking for all the world like the past five months hadn’t happened? Like you two had never broken up?
Neither of you speak again till dinner is ready.
You fetch bowls and spoons from your cupboard, Lea serves both portions.
Setting your bowl in front of you, the Bayern player sits down across from you for the first time in- well, five months.
Then she looks up, blue eyes that are as clear as crystals, meeting yours.
‘Lea…what are you really doing here?’ You barely audibly murmur.
The striker sighs, pushing her bowl away from her and leaning back into her seat.
‘The truth?’
After a long drawn out silence in which she runs her thumb along the handle of her spoon, a restless gesture of hers and you resist the urge to reach across the tabletop to soothe it, Lea admits, ‘I missed you.’
You let her words sink in, trying to work out how you feel about them. Lea had missed you. That means something doesn’t it? Do you want that to mean something?
The answer to that, is so obvious that you can’t lie to yourself. Of course you want it to mean something. You’ve missed Lea like crazy. Every single day since the split.
Your former girlfriend sets her spoon down, gaze downcast as she mumbles, ‘I should leave.’
‘No!’ You start to shake your head, then gasp at the pain that flares up when you do.
Massaging the sides of your temple, you say, ‘Please don’t go. Lea, I-I missed you too.’
A quiet puff of air leaves the blonde, ‘I wasn’t sure if you’d…moved on.’
‘From you?’ Your laugh comes out a touch bitter.
‘I didn’t. I couldn’t.’
Then a thought strikes you and you glance at the German woman furtively, ‘Did you move on?’
Lea blinks as if she had not expected you to ask.
‘I’m here aren’t I?’
Part of you wants to say, ‘Well…for five, nearly six months, you weren’t.’
The Bayern Munich player must sense it because she softens, ‘No. There hasn’t been anyone since. You’re…you. I don’t think there is any getting over you.’
You didn’t know how much you’d been afraid of a different answer till Lea said that. Actually, afraid doesn’t quite cover it, terrified would be a better description.
Relief courses through you so powerfully that you feel lightheaded with the intensity of it.
With how heavy the air is now, you force yourself to pick up your spoon and start on the stew. The last thing you need is to do something stupid like tell Lea you’re still head over heels in love with her.
The blonde takes the cue that you’re done talking for now and the only sound in the room is the clinking of spoons against the bowls.
As expected, the stew is delicious. It had always been your favourite even though Lea never made a meal that you didn’t like.
Like she knows you are thinking about her, the German woman glances up from her bowl, catching your eye and then smiling.
It’s a soft, gentle smile. Reminiscent of old times. Lea making you both dinner, Lea taking care of you after one of your migraines, Lea just being…there. Just constantly there, by your side and looking at you like she never wants to be anywhere else.
You wonder if this is going somewhere. Is this an olive branch or just closure?
Before you know it, your spoon is scraping the bottom of your bowl. The warmth and saltiness of the stew have done wonders and you feel much better.
Lea can see it too because she says, ‘There’s more in the pot if you’d like.’
With a small noise of thanks, you fill up your bowl with a second helping.
Sitting back down, you stir the stew around for a moment and watch the steam rise.
Tentatively, you ask, ‘How’s the football going?’
‘It’s good. The team is doing good. How’s university?’
‘Same. I’m just starting to look for job openings for after my graduation.’
Lea fiddles with her ring, ‘Are you still thinking about teaching?’
‘That’s lovely. It’ll suit you.’
‘I’m pretty sure I want to teach kindergarten.’ You elaborate.
The blonde nods, ‘That suits you too.’
You two fall silent again.
Biting your lip, you try to come up with something to say. It’s strange, almost sad how awkward things feel now. Once upon a time, you had been so comfortable with each other. You’d been open with Lea in ways you never had been with anyone else. It was mutual.
Have things changed so much? Is it possible for a way back?
‘Lea?’
‘Yes?’
‘I just…’ You stop messing around with your food, forcing yourself to look at her properly.
‘I just wanted to say I’m sorry. I’m sorry for all the things I said. The last time we saw each other, I said a lot of cruel and awful things that I shouldn’t have. I did not mean them and I’m really sorry.’
Lea puts her spoon down, ‘I’m sorry too. You weren’t the only one who said things she didn’t mean.’
Her words are genuine, you can see it in the bright blue of her eyes.
Taking a deep breath, you blurt out, ‘I still love you Lea. I wish we’d never broken up.’
Surprise colours Lea’s pretty features.
‘I wish we’d never broken up either. There’s not been a day where I stopped loving you.’
‘Oh.’ You breathe.
The forward goes on, ‘Letting things end after our argument was a mistake. A huge mistake, mostly on my part. I wanted to call. I should have called.’
‘I’m not blameless…I wanted to call too but you were so angry. I-I thought you didn’t want me to call. I thought that you’d never want to hear from me again.’
Lea rests her elbows on the table, leaning closer to you. Your heart begins to beat more quickly, you’re certain you aren’t misreading the flicker of hope in her expression.
Swallowing hard, the German woman murmurs, ‘You called today.’
‘I did. You dropped everything to come over. Made me dinner too.’
Blushing lightly, Lea murmurs, ‘I was sort of trying to make a grand gesture.’
You smile, ‘It worked.’
Lea begins to grin, ‘It did?’
Almost like she can’t help herself she asks, ‘Do you think…Can we give us another try?’
A hundred things rush through your mind. Happiness and relief blooms in your chest.
Eagerly, you say, ‘I’d like that.’
Lea’s smile begins to take on a giddy edge and she reaches an open hand out across the table.
You take it without a split second’s hesitation.
Lea closes her fingers around yours, gaze alight with affection and pure contentment. It is a look you’d never thought you’d see again and it fills you with a sunshine like warmth.
‘Finish eating my love.’ She finally says, gently letting go of your hand.
The term of endearment causes a tingle of joy to spread through you. Enough so that you don’t stop smiling for the rest of the meal.
When you’re both done, Lea washes and you dry. She flicks some soapy water at you, her giggles filling the space.
You’d missed it. You’d missed her. You tell her so and she pulls you into her arms.
Her chin rests on your shoulder and she whispers, ‘I missed you every single second of every fucking day.’
You breathe in her smell, taking comfort in it and the safety of her arms once again.
‘Let’s never do that again.’
‘Deal.’ Lea promises.
Then she seals it with a kiss and oh my…you’d forgotten what it was like to be in heaven.
Lea’s lips are incredibly soft, the kiss slow and sweet. It’s everything and more, better than you’d remembered.
When you both part, there’s a single tear making its way down your cheek.
In a tender gesture, Lea wipes it off with the pad of her thumb.
A small relieved laugh escapes her, ‘I think we’re going to be okay.’
You pull her even closer, mouth quirking upwards against your lover’s lips because you know now that you’re never going to let her go again. This is going to work, you’d do your damndest to make sure of it.
‘I think we’re going to be more than okay.’

met someone II Lena Oberdorf x Reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
masterlist I word count: 1452
a/n: dear readers, the poll chose Lena Oberdorf for this oneshot, we hope you're enjoying it. 💖💖
“Lena?”, Lea sounded surprised.
“Lea, this bar sucks!”, the dark-haired woman yelled into her phone
“But that’s there all the hot lesbians are according to Georgia.”, the blonde frowned.
“Georgia is wrong. The thing is full of straight women.”, she observed with growing frustration as a group of them was laughing hysterically about a joke one of the girls had made.
“Wait, but it’s a gay bar are they all celebrating their bachelorette parties?”, the forward asked confused.
“I don’t care what they do here but they’re all here. I think I’ll go home.”, Lena replied grumpily.
To lighten up her best friend’s terrible mood the blonde suggested. “Tomorrow at my place? I’ll cook a lot of hot chocolate and then we’ll watch a stupid romcom?”
“Didn’t you do that today already?”, the brunette teased the older player.
“Uhmm.”, Lea responded awkwardly.
“I know you.”, Lena stated chuckling.
“Well, I can do it two times in a row if you don’t tell our coach.”, she answered sheepishly.
“Okay, I won’t tell him if you don’t tell him that I’m out at a bar.”, the younger footballer offered grinning.
“We’ve a deal. See you tomorrow night!”, Lea chirmed.
“Bye.”, the brunette ended the phone call. Her dark eyes wandering one last time through her surroundings. The bar had its charm, she could admit that. It had a fading elegance to it like an old diva where you could tell that the woman once was a great beauty, something with a lot of history.
The barkeeper had mentioned to her that back in the 1980s Freddie Mercury was a reoccurring guest. Probably it was a bit more colourful back in the day.
For a second Lena tried to imagine how it would’ve looked like when the British rockstar was still alive but when her eyes locked with yours and all she could think about was you. Why hasn’t the football player noticed you before?
“Uhmm hi.”, the brunette greeted you nervously.
“Hey.”, you bit your lip.
“I’m Lena.”, the stranger introduced herself. Her smile was infectious, it immediately calmed you and made you feel less awkward than you’d usually feel in front of a person you just met.
You told her your name and when added. “You’re alone here too?  There’s a lot of groups tonight?”
Lonely hearts recognized each other you thought to yourself. Especially in a crowded room where people who came alone were rare.
“Yeah, I was about to go home. But then I saw you and I thought.. I could at least try and shoot my shot.”, Lena winked.
“That’s funny because I was about to leave too until I saw you.”, you confessed without hesitation in your voice.
A smile spread across Lenas face: “Oh really? Looks like this was meant to be.“
You chuckled in response, teasing her: “Are you a romantic, Lena?”
“Not really.“, she shook her head, her smile unwavering.
“So you don’t believe in love at the first sight?”, you asked.
She tilted her head slightly: “I believe in attraction at the first sight.“
You could barely tear your eyes away from that smirk, confident and cool.
“Me too.“
Lena pointed back towards the entrance of the bar and suggested: “Maybe we should stay for another drink?”
You nodded quickly: “Yes.“
Unsurprisingly, the bar was still crowded when the two of you went back inside. Lena led you right towards the counter to two empty bar stools. She had already ordered drinks while you sat down.
“Come on, it’s on me.“, she grinned as she pushed one of the glasses towards you.
You smiled politely at her: “Thank you.“
“You’re welcome.“
You sipped on your drink. Despite its dangerously clear look, you could barely taste the alcohol.
“So, what got you here tonight?”, you asked.
“I moved here a couple of months ago. I guess I’m just looking for someone…“, Lena admitted willingly.
It was more than understandable.
“A big city like Munich can get lonely…“, you mused, absentmindedly swirling the liquid in your glass.
Observing you, she raised an eyebrow: “Speaking from experience?”
“I do…“, you replied but quickly frowned at yourself. That sounded all wrong, you weren’t lonely. “I mean I love my friends…“
“But a romantic relationship is different. I get that.“, Lena completed your thought.
You paused for a moment, not because her interruption felt invasive, but because you felt an immediate connection.
“It is.“
“I feel the same way about that.“, Lena agreed.
You lifted your glass and clinked it against hers: “Cheers to the Lonely Hearts Club.“
Lena laughed: “Who knows. Maybe we’re at the right place at the right time and won’t be part of that club for much longer.“
Your heart skipped a beat, swelling with hope that this could be more than just a last-minute flirt at a bar but your forced it to calm down.
“Do you want to go for a walk after this?”, you asked, once your heart had started pumping blood to your brain again.
Lena checked the clock on her phone and nodded: “Sure.“
“Perfect.“
Both of your glasses emptied quickly.
“Ready to leave?”
“Yes, I’m ready.“, you said as you got up.
“Let’s go.“
Lena followed you outside where you both were met with the chilly breeze of the late night.
Side by side, you started walking against the cold. Streetlights illuminated the sidewalk just enough. You watched the shadows dance across Lenas face as you walked to nowhere in particular.
“Do you like living in the city so far?”
“I do. I expected the move to be harder but.. I like it.”, she admitted. You could tell that the young woman meant it. Immediately you asked yourself where Lena had lived before. Possibly somewhere smaller and calmer.
The brunette glanced at you with curiosity. “What about you? Have you lived here for a long time?”
“Yes, I moved here for university. It felt very freeing.”, a shy smile played on your lips as you spoke.
“I can see that.”, she observed in a friendly tone.
“In Munich you can be yourself.”, you added meaningfully.
A moment of realization hit the dark-haired woman unexpectedly. “You came out here, huh?”, Lena recognized.
“I did.”, you nodded. Pictures of the past were flashing behind your eyes. The small Bavarian village you grew up in, the catholic church being the centre of everyday life and gay people were basically non-existent. When you came to Munich it felt like you were able to breathe normally for the first time in forever.
“I think I understand why this city means so much to you.”, the brunette replied.
“You were out before moving?”, you asked her although it was more an observation than a question.
“Yes, for a while. I’m a football player so everyone is very open about it.”, Lena explained blushing.
“Ah a football player.”, you smiled at her mildly.
“Oh. You don’t sound impressed.”, she stated sounding almost a bit disappointed. But from the inside the midfielder felt relived too as sometimes the only thing women found interesting about her was her job.
The Lena off the pitch didn’t interest them at all, the one who loved her friends and family fearlessly, who liked to have fun, party a little and who wanted to take care of a dog again, but knew she wouldn’t have enough time without a partner to help her.
“No, I was just wondering why your arms are so impressive.”, you countered grinning, your fingers intertwined as you kept walking.
“You’re impressed by my arms? You should see my thighs.”, she smirked.
“Can’t see them through those trousers.”, you continued the banter making the woman you felt attracted to break into a warm and loud laughter.
“Sorry that joke went a bit far for a first meeting.”, Lena biting her full lips apologetically.
“A little but I’m already liking what I can see.”, you responded truthfully.
“Oh, you do?”, the football player raised an eyebrow.
“Yeah, too much honesty?”, you chuckled.
“No, I like honesty.”, she replied earnestly.
“Same. So, what if I’d like to see you again?”, you questioned bravely, your heart pounding hard against your chest.
“How about tomorrow?” That ask sounded like music to both of your ears. Like this night might came to an end but it was only the beginning for you two.
The following day Lea exclaimed surprised. “Wait, you’re bringing a plus one to our movie night?!”
“Either that or I have to cancel. And you won’t forgive me for that.”, Lena said smiling.
“Okay, you can bring her.”, the striker sighed dramatically.
“You won’t regret it.”, the brunette promised wholeheartedly. Lena got butterflies in her stomach as she thought about you.

Public? // Felicitas Rauch
Tumblr media
a/n: based off this request. Hope you like it:)
The tension was thick at home.
Felicitas loved you.
You loved Felicitas.
But that didn‘t change the fact that there was this strange atmosphere ever since the two of you had one of your biggest fight ever.
-
At the age of 15, Feli and you met.
At the age of 16, she asked you out on a date.
After several dates, you asked you to be her girlfriend - it took you some weeks to build up the courage to do so.
At the age of 23, Feli asked you to marry her.
At the age of 24, the two of you were happily married.
Both of you seemed to be happy - you were, but something in Felis mindset shifted which had led to your argument.
She hated that she couldn‘t wear her ring.
She hated that nobody knew she was married.
For the world, you didn’t exist - that‘s how many people knew about you.
You‘re her wife.
She wanted to show everybody how much in love she was with you.
She wanted to post pictures with you,
she wanted to hold your hand in public,
she wanted to be seen with you.
You‘re everything to her and nobody knew about it.
-
It started as a simple conversation.
"Liebe, can we talk about something?" the German asked, taking a seat in front of you. You looked up from your laptop, putting the pen down, so your complete attention was on her. "Is everything alright?" you questioned, a big frown displayed over your features. It was never a good sign to start conversations like that, "what‘s wrong?"
The defender took a deep breath before she answered straightforward, "be my wife." which came out ruder than intended.
Confused, you looked at her, "I am"
"You‘re not" she declared, her jaw tense.
"What‘re you talking about?" you closed your laptop, "does that mean nothing?" wiggling with your ringfinger.
"No" she didn‘t want to get mad but slowly anger started to float through her body, all her emotions discovering the surface, "because I can‘t wear mine!"
Taken back by her outburst, you matched her tone, "that‘s not my fault! You‘re the athlete, not me"
"You wanted us to be private!" her voice raised, "I could‘ve easily taped my ring" with her finger at the brick of nose, she tried to calm down. That’s not the way she wanted it to turn out - not at all.
"I want to be public" she stated, this time a much softer voice talking to you. The voice you could listen hours to.
"I don’t!"
With her voice level back angry and heart hurt, she growled, "Why not?!"
"I don‘t want to"
Your answer only made her angrier as she stood up and walked around the kitchen counter to pour herself a glass of water.
"That‘s not a reason!"
"You know what?!" leaving the chair, you gathered your notes, "I don‘t have to explain myself"
Feli could only watch as you took your laptop and walked away, in the direction of the front door.
Quickly, she followed you, stopping you in your tracks as she grabbed your wrist, her touch gentle, "Where are you going?"
"Away from you!" you felt so hurt, the insult of not being her wife. Was this whole marriage a joke to her?
"Y/n" she started, the hurt on your face visible for her, "please-"
"No, i got the message" you grumbled, "it‘s yours" angrily you took of the ring, slamming it down on the shelf.
Maybe it was childish to take off your ring but you felt helpless. She had been your girlfriend for many years and your wife for a few years, but never, never ever had she hurt you as much with a statement as she just did.
You left shortly after, Feli standing in the hall with an empty expression on her, your ring between her fingers.
She fucked up. She really did and she knew.
-
It was dark outside, 10 minutes before midnight and you still weren‘t home which made her anxious. The varnish of her nails was peeled off, her leg hobbling up and down and her mind racing with worst case scenarios.
Liebe❤️
When are you coming home?
please let me know
Even though you were hurt, you replied to her text. You hated it not reply to her texts and you could imagine how she was feeling, you hated it too when you didn’t know when she was coming home.
You
one hour.
Feli was laying in bed, anxiously watching the clock in your bedroom as she waited for you to come home. There was no way she would fall asleep before she knew you were safely at home.
Exactly an hour later, you opened the front door, walking into your home, eyes puffy and red. The defender didn’t leave the bed, she didn’t try to approach you nor talk to you. She wanted to let you be. Yet that didn‘t stop her from hoping you would join her in bed.
And you did.
Wordlessly you laid down, your back facing her. The German felt her heart sink, usually you would always cuddle her - she really had fucked up.
It took you about 20 minutes before you fell asleep, your body physically exhausted, Feli still wide awake. As your soft snores filled the room the defender was quick to decide what her next move would be. She couldn’t sleep without holding you, so that‘s what she did. Her arms snuggled around waist as she pulled you close, your body relaxing in her touch. She would make it up to you - that was a promise.
-
You woke up alone in bed, the wolfsburg player nowhere to be seen. Making your way out of bed, dressed in a oversized shirt and shorts, you walked in the kitchen, the smell of pancakes hitting your nostrils, "good morning" you muttered as you rubbed your eyes, taking on seat at the bar stool.
"Hey" the german whispered as she took you in, "I made you breakfast" she handed you the plate which was filled with pancakes.
"Thank you"
It was silent for a few moments.
"I‘m sorry" your wife started, "I’m so sorry. You‘re my wife no matter if the world knows that or not- I shouldn’t have yelled at you and I’m so sorry for insulting you like that" she inhaled sharply, turning to you as she gently interwined your fingers, "I love you. You are everything to me"
"Your comment hurt me" you whispered, your head falling against her shoulder as she instantly wrapped her arms around you. Silent tears streamed down your face as she mumbled sweet nothings in your ear.
"I‘m so sorry, baby" multiple kisses were pressed against your head, "I don’t wanna be public if you don‘t want to. I want you to be happy"
Her hands cupped your cheeks as she made you look at her, her eyes determined with her statement, "I love you"
-
"Can you tell me why you don‘t want to be public?" she asked one evening as she held you in her arms with the tv playing in the background. Her tone was gentle, understanding and as if she would accept every answer, she just had to know an answer.
"I like privacy"
And even though, it was indeed true that you enjoyed your privacy, the real reason to stay in secret was because you were afraid. You feared the public and their words. You didn‘t want your relationship to break down because her fans didn‘t like you or your looks or the fact that you don’t play nor enjoy football.
Just you and her.
-
The topic wasn‘t brought up again yet you could see how it killed Feli from day to day, how much it hurt her to take off her ring every morning. Her eyes stopped shining the way they used to, her smile didn‘t reach the corner of her eyes anymore - the light was missing.
She loved you, she really did and she still treated you like a princess but not wearing her ring, not having the opportunity to show you off left her heart in pain.
Which is why you did what you did one day after her training.
The defender came home with a smile tugged on her lips as she told you about her day.
After her story about the day, "I‘m going to shower, baby" she stated, pressing multiple kisses to your cheeks before she walked towards the bathroom, her phone resting on the kitchen counter.
When you heard the shower, it was safe to say that she wouldn‘t come out of the bathroom for at least 20 minutes.
Snatching her phone from the counter, you made yourself comfortable on the couch. Feli never had a problem if you take her phone, she had nothing to hide and was fully convinced that you would never control her which was true. Never ever would you stalk through her phone or anything, most of the time when you used her phone was for music, hay day or when she asked you to reply to someone. You trusted each other blindly and more than anything, so opening instagram, you did the thing that made her happy, hopefully.
You revealed your marriage with a simple post.
Within seconds her phone blew off, notification after notification.

When Feli left the bathroom, you were happily cooking some dinner as music played softly in the background. You swayed with the beat, humming along the lyrics as you prepared your meal.
In the meantime Feli walked in the living room as she heard her phone ring constantly. What was happening?
And then she saw it.
Over a thousand notifications on instagram.
Why?
Your post.
"Liebe!" she yelled while she quickly entered the kitchen.
"Ye-" you‘re cut of as lips were pressed against your own, strong arms wrapping around your waist.
Feli kissed you with every inch of love in her body,
she kissed you with so much happiness,
she kissed you with a new found passion.
When air became a problem, you pulled away, the defender chasing after your lips for multiple pecks.
"What was that?" you asked, completely out of breath, lips swollen and chest heavily rising and falling.
Replying with "A thank you" she cupped your cheeks, thumb softly caressing it, "for the- that the world knows I‘m married and happily so"
your cheeks turned red, her gaze so intense as it was filled with love. She smiled brightly at you, a smile that reached the corner of her eyes.
"I‘m sorry for being so secretive, I was afraid of the outcome- the media and fans but I’m done with it. I love you and it‘s time for everyone to know" you stated in a firm voice, ready to fight the world if needed.
"I‘m so in love with you"
-
Since that day, there hasn't been a day where Felicitas took off her wedding ring. In games, she would tape it up, the same as in training. It was her good luck charm and everybody should know it.

For the anon who asked if I could write something for Klara. I hope you like this one☺️
Klara Bühl / Family Talks
You were sitting in Klaras and your living room, having a nice day with some of your friends and family.
Just enjoying the day before the both of you would be flying out to Australia for the biggest tournament of your life.
You loved these moments. You have always been a family person and you were behind happy that yours and Klaras family got on so well together. Since you two became close friends three years ago, when you both joined Bayern at the same time your family’s got to know each other often meeting up before games to watch them together.
And since you guys started dating almost a year ago everyone grew even tighter.
You were just talking to your sister when you saw your little niece came running in from the garden laughing and giggling your girlfriend coming in behind her, chasing her.
You watched as Klara grabbed her by her waist lifting her up in the air and blowing a raspberry on her stomach making the little girl laugh even more.
“Klari, stop stop that tickles, please.” Your niece laughed and you couldn’t help the smile that broke out on your face.
Klara sat her bag down and kissed her forehead. Your niece smiled at her and hugged Klara around her waist, or more so her legs being to small to reach anything higher up before Klara crouched down to her level and rapping her own arms around the small girl.
“She is really good with her.” Said your sister, startling you slightly.
“Yeah she is.”
“You know. I think you are going to be great parents one day.”
You felt your cheeks getting warm and you tried to hide your blush by looking down.
It wasn’t the first time someone had said something like this to you or Klara. Your teammates, especially Sydney, often making a comment or two about it whenever you two were around children.
When Almuth brought her twins to the trainings camps with the national team the comments only got more. You two always being able to calm them down or getting them to laugh.
“You know. We talked about it. Becoming parents I mean.”
Klara had asked you about it one evening at camp and you had first freaked out saying that you wouldn’t be a good mum and exclaiming that you were to young and that you wanted to focus on your career. Klara had instantly calmed you down, saying that you would be a great and caring mother and that she hadn’t mean right now but maybe in the future.
“I can’t wait to see you two with your own little one running around and keeping you busy.”
Your sister smiled at your and pulling you into a warm hug.
When you looked back at your girlfriend you saw that your niece was now sitting on her lap and listening to Klara reading her a story. You watched as your niece slowly drifted asleep in your girlfriends arms. Once she was fast asleep, Klara carefully stood up, with your niece still in her arms and came over to you.
She smiled at you and sat next to you.
Pulling her into your arms you smiled down at the little girl still sound asleep.
“She is so cute” Whispered Klara to not wake her up.
You nodded slowly stroking over the little girls head.
Once Klara had come over your sister had left saying she wanted to talk to Klaras mother about something but you hadn’t really listend already to focused on your girlfriend.
“It suits you, you know. You have this special smile on your face when you are with kids.” You smiled at her and watched as she first smiled at the girl in her lap before she looked back at you. She leaned over to you, kissing you lovingly.
“Can you imagine us as parents? I know we talked about it once but everyone seems to think that we would be such great parents and I can’t help but think about it and I know it will not happen any time soon we are both in the middle of our careers but I can’t help to think about it.” Your girlfriend rambled on quietly and you had to giggle. She was just so cute whenever she was nervous about something.
“I love you. And I honestly think that we will be good at it. I mean no one is perfect and everyone makes mistake. But I think we will manage. When you first asked me I was scared but now I think we will somehow master it. Let’s just wait a bit more, yes?! I don’t think I am read just yet to have so much responsibility for such a little human being. I want to be a bit immature for now.”
Once you finished you pressed another kiss on Klaras lips and you felt your girlfriend smiled into the kiss.
“Yeah, I want to have you for myself for a bit longer.”

goosebumps
lena oberdorf x reader
summary: your girlfriend is super touchy.
Tumblr media
"you know how I get those goosebumps every time, yea?"
bayern munich vs wolfsburg, one of the most exciting days in the women's bundesliga.
moving to bayern munich from chelsea in 2022, you were adjusted into your new life.
this meant that you were prepared on going against wolfsburg-- and you were prepared of playing against your girlfriend of two years-- lena.
your mutual best friend-- lea-- put the two of you onto each other, lena and you had many similarities that didn't go unnoticed between your peers.
being silly, sweet, dedicated, and motivated were the top four personality traits in the both of you.
overly competitive is another.
during the rivalry game, you had the ball and were going to pass down to sydney. before your foot went to tap the ball, lena's body side tackled you-- which caused you to trip onto the ground.
you were not hurt, but you were concerned about wolfsburg aggressive approach this game.
staying on the ground, you clenched your teeth as you held your ankle.
lena stood up in horror, before she realized that you were trying to get her carded.
the german noticed how relaxed you looked, in comparison to times when you were injured. she looks over at popp and shakes her head before walking over to you.
you told the ref that you're fine to play and stood up to be checked into the game again. looking over at lena, she shakes her head with a smirk-- which caused you to give her one back.
a minute later, she was behind you when a corner kick was being taken for bayern-- conceded by wolfsburg.
"you know-- your acting might be believable to them, but not to me." lena whispered.
you rolled your eyes, playfully, before speaking--
"as longs the ref believes it, I'm calm." you say as you move forward to receive a possible header from your teammate.
suddenly, you felt a pair of hands holding onto your waist tightly-- and the familiar body of your girlfriend pressed against your back.
"your ass looks so good in those shorts, too bad its in the wrong color." lena whispers in german.
this time, you rolled your eyes seriously as you jump up to get the header. unfortunately, the ball was too high.
a wolfsburg defender conceded a corner kick again, so you were set to try and head the ball once again.
"do you think you're getting away from me?" lena asks, licking her lips but still paying attention to the game in hand.
"lena we are in a middle of a game." you scoff.
lena is very touchy, you are obsessed with it, but you were surprised that she would do it to distract you in a match.
"I am aware." lena blows on the back of your neck, goosebumps immediately appeared.
thirty minutes later at the end of the game, it was a draw between the red and green. 2-2.
by the locker rooms, in the privacy away from fans and cameras, you saw your girlfriend and gave her a wave.
you assumed that she was busy with her teammates so you didn't want to disrupt her.
however, lena waves her hand for you to come over to her.
your face showed a look of content and joy as lena wrapped your body with her strong arms-- her right arm holding your waist and her left arm around the back of your neck.
she kisses your temple a few times before moving down to kiss your lips.
you forced yourself to pull away and look at your german girlfriend with a smirk,
"well, neither of us won today." you comment in a low voice.
"yes but don't get too excited, we will crush bayern next time." lena's hands move up and down your waist softly as you scoff.
"what other methods are you going to use next time?" you ask, your arms going to smooth lena's freshly washed hair as her eyebrows knitted together.
"huh?"
"I thought your touches and comments on the pitch was a tactic to prevent me from getting a hat-trick after my second goal." you say as the taller girl is rubbing your back now, under your shirt.
luckily, everyone was in the locker rooms or already headed out to go home (or on the bus for the bayern girls).
"no not really, you're irresistible." lena smirks, leaning her head back on the wall as you gave her another kiss.
"same goes for you--i'm coming over tonight, so I'll see you later oberdorf." you smirk before exiting her arms, walking away as she watched you with desire.

cappuccino | lena oberdorf
Tumblr media
synopsis who needs a fancy coffee machine when a cute barista can make your coffee instead?
warnings a teeny tiny bit of swearing and a teeny tiny bit suggestive - English isn't my first language so bear with me - oh and also idk if this counts as a warning but Lena's injury just doesn't exist in this (for the plot and my inner peace)
words 7869
“Hi, could I have a cappuccino?” Lena asks without looking up from her phone. She knows it’s rude not to look at the person in front of her while ordering, but she still hasn’t figured out how to get to the training grounds. And being late on the first day of the job wasn’t necessarily something Lena wanted to do. She was a pretty laid-back person, but at the end of the day, she was still German, and that meant being on time was important. She usually would have made coffee at home, but her coffee maker, which she treasured, was still in one of the many unpacked boxes. So getting a coffee from a little coffee shop on her way to the subway seemed like a better idea than searching for a coffee maker in her new apartment.
“Sure. That would be €4.50. Do you want it to go?”
Your voice made Lena look up from her phone, where Google Maps was still open, being no help at all. She was about to answer you, but the words died in her throat. You were pretty. Like, really fucking pretty. The morning sun was shining through the windows, illuminating the whole room, including you. You had a gentle smile on your lips, your eyes trained onto hers. Lena didn’t even realize that she had been staring at you, with her mouth slightly open, until you raised one of your eyebrows.
“Um, yeah, of course. Yes, to go. Please. And I’ll pay with my card. Please.” Your smile spread a little wider, and you nodded before typing something into the screen in front of you. The card scanner lit up, and Lena held her phone against it, her eyes never leaving you. You had surprised her. The patient smile on your face, even when Lena hadn’t been particularly polite. The way your skin was glowing from the light that was streaming in. The way you wore your hair, the rings on your fingers, and the cap on your head. Everything about you had caught Lena's attention, and she couldn't look away.
“Coming right up.” You were smiling at her again, and Lena could only nod. She took a step to the side and looked down at her phone without really looking at it. You had started making her coffee, and Lena kept stealing discreet glances at you.
The girl's glances were anything but discreet. After her slightly awkward order, you caught her looking at you multiple times. One time you were certain she had been staring at your ass right before you turned around, her eyes quickly moving up to yours and then back to her phone. Her cheeks now dusted in a light pink. She was cute. Like really cute. Her hair was up in a very messy bun. She was wearing a big shirt, sweatpants and a bunch of jewelry. The necklaces around her neck, her earrings and rings had immediately caught your attention. She had been a little awkward with you but something about her still seemed confident. Like she was certain in herself. You also kept stealing glances at her, hoping that yours were a little more discreet, while finishing her coffee. She kept looking at her phone and then back at you.
Once you had poured the foamed milk on top, you slid the cup onto the counter, next to the sugar and the lids. “There you go.” You said, smiling at her as she looked up from her phone again. She smiled back and mumbled a little “Thanks”. You noted how she didn't put any sugar, only picking up one of the lids and putting it onto the cup.
She looked like she was about to turn around when she seemed to change her mind. “Sorry if I'm being annoying. But could you help me real quick? I’m new here and cannot, for the life of me, figure out which subway I have to take to get to the Bayern Campus?” Her admission made you giggle, and you leaned a little forward, arms on the counter. She also stepped a little closer and tipped her phone towards you so you could see the subway lines on it. “It’s no problem. You’re not being annoying. I’m pretty sure it’s easier to get there by bus. But” you leaned a little further onto the counter, pointing to a red line on her phone. “If you take this one to that station” you moved your finger over her screen, showing her where to go. “ Then you're in a pretty good walking distance. I’ve never walked it myself, but I’m guessing it’s like 15 to 20 minutes?” “Ah thanks, you’re a lifesaver.” She looked at you, your faces surprisingly close to each other. That realization stopped you both in your tracks for a second, just looking at each other until Lena cleared her throat and looked away. “Um, yeah, so thanks for the description and the coffee. Have a good day. Bye” She mumbled, and was out of the shop before you could answer, but her perfume lingered for quite a while, leaving a small smile on your face for the rest of the day.
“I’m telling you, they make really good coffee.” “Lena, I’ve been living here for like four years. What makes you think you know better coffee places than I do?” Lena just rolled her eyes and kept dragging Lea towards the little coffee shop. With your help, she had been able to find the campus last week, she had even been five minutes early. And while the new place, the new people and the practice had been exciting, the only thing on her mind had been you. She almost told Lea about you, but she ended up being too embarrassed. She instead opted for dragging her to the little shop, hoping to see you again. The weather had changed quite a bit, heavy clouds hanging over Munich.
Lena opened the door to the café and let Lea step in first. Her eyes immediately searched the place until they found you. You were standing behind the counter, just like yesterday, talking to a customer. You weren't wearing a cap today, but paired with the moody weather, you looked very cozy in your hoodie, making Lena smile slightly. It was ridiculous how enthralled she was by you, only seeing you for the second time, but she couldn't help herself. Something about you had captivated her. She only realized then that Lea was already standing in line at the counter, looking a little confused at Lena, who was still frozen in place by the door. Lena quickly caught up to her friend, looking down to hide the light blush on her cheeks.
“Hi, what can I get for you?” Your voice chimed in, making Lena look up again. Your eyes met and, to Lena's satisfaction, your smile seemed to deepen. “Hello again.” You basically beamed at her, and Lena felt like she had grown a couple of inches. “Hi,” she smiled back, the one word the only thing she was capable of saying. “Another cappuccino, or would you like something else today?” Your smile didn't falter, and Lena tried really hard not to let the fact that you had remembered her coffee order get to her head. “Yes, another cappuccino, please.” At that, she remembered that she had brought Lea and quickly whipped her head toward her friend. Lea was already looking at her, a knowing smile on her lips. “What do you want?” Lena asked, already mentally preparing for the teasing that was about to ensue. Maybe bringing Lea hadn't been a good idea. Lea turned her head toward you and ordered herself a latte. Lena told you that they wanted to drink their coffee in the shop and paid with her phone. “I’ll bring the drinks to your table.” You told them before turning around and starting on their orders,
Lena suppressed her need to watch you and followed Lea into a cute sitting corner in the back of the café. “Barely a week in Munich, and you already have a crush. Working fast, Obi.” Lea teased before Lena even had the chance to sit down. Lena's head turned bright red, her cheeks heating up. “Stop, dude.” she grumbled, falling into the chair opposite Lea. “I mean, I get it. She's cute.” Lea sent an exaggerated wink. Lena groaned and dropped her forehead onto the table. Lea laughed. “Come on, I’m just teasing you.” Lena raised her head back up. “It is a little embarrassing, though. I’ve literally seen her twice now, and I acted like a fool both times. That's ridiculous, Lea.” Lea just kept grinning and shrugged her shoulders. “I don't know Obi. I’m kind of here for it. Usually you're tho one people lose their minds over you. It's kind of nice seeing you flustered.” Lena just groaned at that and was about to drop her head again when your voice chimed in.
“A Latte and a Cappuccino for the two of you.” You said as you put the beverages down in front of them. It was the first time that Lena could see your whole body. She wasn't standing, but she was sure that you were a bit smaller than her. You were wearing Birkenstocks, which made Lena grin. They weirdly fit you and your vibe a lot. “Thank you.” Lea said, and Lena realized only then that she had been staring at you. Again. “Lena told me we had to come here.” There was a short moment of silence as Lena looked at her friend with big eyes. “For the coffee, of course.” Lea pushed out after, only making Lena more uncomfortable. “Of course.” You responded, and Lena didn't miss the teasing tone in your voice. “Well, I hope you enjoy it then.” You chirped as you turned around to walk back to the front of the store. Lea was now beaming at her again, and Lena dropped her head back to the table right next to her cappuccino should have known that bringing one of her best friends here was a horrible idea. Next time, she would come alone.
Lena stopped by the café almost every day, and you found yourself looking forward to it. Aside from that one time, she had always been on her own. Most weekdays, she would pop in around 8 o'clock and order her cappuccino. You would exchange a few words while you made up her order. You figured out rather quickly that she had signed for Bayern this season and has just moved here from Wolfsburg. She told you about her family, her dog and most importantly, the upcoming Olympics, so you would know why she wouldn't show for a couple of weeks. In return, you told her about your roommate, the book you were currently reading, and your working hours, so she would know when you weren't there. Talking to her almost every day had made you not only get used to her presence but also crave it. Her laugh was intoxicating, always raising your mood. You spend your mornings staring at the door, waiting for her to walk through it, and your evenings thinking about her and all the things you still didn't know about her but desperately wanted to.
The few weeks Lena spent at the Olympics had turned out to be a little torturous. For the first time in your life, you were watching soccer. Only the German games, of course. Some of them took place while you had work, so you turned them on the TV you had in your café. Some customers and your employee Ben had been confused about the change from either music videos or baby animals to soccer, but you just brushed the comments off. You had to know how Lena was doing, and you didn't have her number, so the games and her interviews were the only thing you had. Watching her interviews in the evening had turned into a slightly concerning obsession. You missed her presence in the café and missed talking to her. The interviews could, of course, not fill that void, but they made up for it a little. Around a month after you had seen her for the first time, you jumped off your couch as Ann-Kathrin Berger saved the penalty, making Germany bronze medalists. Your roommate had been watching with you, clearly amused by your reaction, but you didn't really care. Not only had Lena won a bronze medal, but she was also finally going to come back to Munich. Back to your café.
You had to be patient for almost another week before Lena finally showed up again. Her skin was slightly darker than it had been before she left, and your eyes met the second she set foot into your store. You couldn't help the wide smile on your face, or the way your heartbeat picked up when she returned it. “Welcome back, superstar.” You grinned as she stepped up to your counter. Her cheeks blushed, and her smile turned a little sheepish. “Um, yeah, thanks.” She scratched the back of her neck before her confident smile, which you had grown used to, returned. “So that means you’ve watched the games, huh?” Now it was your turn to blush. You didn't really know how to respond, so you just nodded and quickly turned around to start making her coffee. And because it was just your Luck, your employee Ben had overheard the conversation, and since he was a little shit he decided to chime in.
“Oh, you’re Lena Oberdorf, right? The soccer play? Well, now I get why there has been soccer on our TV for the past few weeks instead of baby penguins or hippos.” Your blush deepened, and you made a point of not looking at Lena as you responded. “Moo Deng and Pesto still got their time to shine. I would never disrespect them like that.” Ben raised his hands defensively. “Sure, thing boss” He smirked, returning to the order he had been making. You finished Lena's Coffee before you faced her again. The confident smile on her face had only deepened, and you had to hold back a groan at it. Her ego had just grown like 10 inches, and it was all Ben's fault. “Your cappuccino.” You said, hoping to just pretend that that conversation had never happened. “It's on the house.” you threw in quickly as she raised her phone to pay. Somehow, her smile got even bigger, and your knees started feeling a little wobbly. “Guess I'll have to win another medal to get coffee from my favorite barista.” She threw you an exaggerated wink as she took the coffee. “Thanks tho. Guess I’ll have to return the favor by gifting a jersey to my new fan.” You rolled your eyes at that, and Lena just laughed. Maybe hiring Ben had been a horrible idea after all.
Over four months after you had met Lena for the first time, she brought a second person to the café. You had been standing behind the counter, busy making another order for one of your regulars, so you didn't see her walking in. That also meant that you were completely oblivious to the conversation Lena and Jule were having while looking at the back of your head.
“So that's her, huh?” Jule teased the second they made it through the door. “The reason you’ve barely touched your fancy coffee maker, that cost more than my first car, since you moved here?” Lena's cheeks started burning up immediately, and she tried hiding them in the scarf around her neck. It had gotten cold in Germany, and Lena couldn't help but smile at the state of the store. It was mid-November, but the café had been in full Christmas swing for a week now.
Lena had walked in on you, humming along to jingle bells, on the first of November. You were wearing the coziest sweater Lena had ever seen, and both of your hands were full of string lights, ready to light the place up. Your excitement about the holiday had been intoxicating, and Lena wanted nothing more than to jump over the counter and kiss you under the mistletoe you had hung up there. She hadn't, of course, but that didn't stop her from fantasizing about it. Her mood was only slightly tainted when she remembered how your employee, Jack or something, had winked at you as he had also walked into the store and noticed the mistletoe. “You could’ve just asked Boss.” He said with a wink before disappearing into the back room. Your only reaction had been an eye roll, but Lena could feel frustration and a little jealousy rise inside her. She felt like you enjoyed her flirting and flirted back, but she didn't even know if you were into women at all, much less into her. She had left the store feeling kind of grumpy with her coffee cup in hand.
You had finished up with the customer, and Jule started pulling Lena towards the counter, tearing her out of her daydream. You smiled up at the two of them and were about to greet them when Jule started talking. “Hi, I’m Jule It's nice to meet you.” Lena suppressed a groan but couldn't hold back from rolling her eyes. “You must be Y/N, I’ve heard a lot about you.” Jule basically beamed at you, and Lena wondered why she had ever thought that bringing Jule here was a good Idea. “Really well, that's nice to hear.” You grinned toward Lena. “Well, I had to tell her about my biggest fan, didn’t I?” Lena quickly threw back, hoping to hide her embarrassment. “Of course you did.” You responded. “But you're playing a dangerous game by introducing me to more soccer players, Oberdorf. Maybe I’ll wear a different jersey soon.”
Lena was momentarily stunned. Not only by your quick remark, but also by surprise over how that made her feel. The little green monster that had shown its fangs just days ago seemed to grow bigger in her chest, and Lena's smile turned slightly uncomfortable. You didn't seem to catch onto that as you winked at her and then turned to Jule to ask her what she wanted to drink. She ordered some weird, complicated festive drink that Lena had forgotten the name of the second the words had left Jules mouth. Lena watched you as you nodded and typed stuff into the screen in front of you before your attention finally returned to her. Your eyes met and Lena's heart jumped just a tiny bit. “A cappuccino as usual?” You asked, grinning up at her, teeth on full display. “Yeah, as usual.” “I really thought I could infect you with my festive spirit. Come on, try something Christmasy. Maybe just a splash of cinnamon syrup or some gingerbread spice?” Lena's grin returned. “Nope, thanks, I'm good.” You rolled your eyes slightly with a smile and typed in her order as well. Lena paid for the drinks and you started making them. Lena thought she had survived Jule meeting you for the first time when the taller woman started talking again.
“So, Y/N, do you own the store?” She asked, even though she already knew the answer. Lena had told her weeks ago over the phone. You turned your head slightly, still focused on your task at the coffee maker. “Yes, I do. I used to work here as a part-timer, but then the old owner retired and asked me if I wanted to take over. It’s been mine ever since.” “So you run it all by yourself?” Jule kept asking, and Lena frowned. Jule knew the answer to all of these questions, so what was she on about? “Oh no, I have one employee, Ben, who works half-time, and during the summer and sometimes Christmas I get some holiday workers.” “So is Ben like just an employee, ooor?”
Ah, that's what Jule was getting at. Lena would have been annoyed at her if that question hadn't tortured her for the past week. You turned around, slightly surprised. “Oh no, he’s just an employee.” Lena could physically feel the tension leave her shoulders. “And, well, a friend. We swing in…opposite directions, if you know what I mean.” With that, you turned back around to finish Jules order, and Lena had to restrain herself from hugging Jule or letting out an excited scream. That had quite literally been the most ideal outcome. Not only were you not dating that Ben/Jack guy, you were also gay, and so was he. Phenomenal. Lena felt like she could just float away happily on a little cloud as you put Jules order in front of her.
“Yeah, well, I’m just happy that I found a café that plays soccer games on the big screen. I bet the old owner didn't,” Lena piped in, using every chance she could get to tease you. When she found out that you had actually watched her games, Lena felt like she was on cloud 9, kind of similar to how she felt now. She laughed when you turned around and stuck your tongue out toward her. She was being a little shit and enjoyed every second of it. You were now working on Lena's order with your back still angled towards them. That way, you didn't see the smile that spread onto Jules face or the mischievous glint in her eyes. Lena did, and her heart race started picking up.
“Well, I don't know how much you know about soccer, but I play for the club Lena used to play for, and we actually go against each other tomorrow. Why don’t you come?” Jule asked, and your movements stilled. Lena sucked in a breath. She liked you. A lot. But so far, all of your interactions had taken place in the small café. It had turned into a little bubble for the two of you. And while Lena would have liked to spend more time with you - it felt like a massive step. You turned around slowly, a shy smile on your face that made Lena's heart jump again. “I’d like that.” You answered quietly while looking at Lena - trying to gauge her reaction. “I mean, if you want me there?” Lena was a little surprised but tried to hide that behind an encouraging smile while Jule clapped her hands together. “Of course she does. Yeah, no, that's awesome. We’ll get you a ticket. Well, Lena will. Oh, and it starts at 6:30 pm, so maybe be there a little earlier. Maybe we can get you in the friends and family section; that would be nice, no? And we’re going to a bar or something afterward, so you definitely have to come with us.” Lena could see in your face that you were getting overwhelmed by Jules rambling. Your eyes kept getting bigger, and you stood frozen with Lena's cappuccino in your hands, your eyes switching between her and Jule. She couldn't help but grin as she reached out and put her hands on Jules shoulder to slow her down. She sounded a lot more confident than she felt when she asked you, “Maybe you can just give me your number, and I’ll text you all the details?” You nodded quickly, seemingly unfreezing from your stance, putting the cup on the counter. There was a light tint on your cheeks when you took the phone out of Lena's Hand and started typing into it before returning it. You didn't see the wide, proud smile on Jules face that made Lena roll her eyes again. She really had to stop bringing her friends into this café.
This was a horrible idea. You had somehow made it to the stadium and then found your way into the family and friends section. If it hadn't been for Lena's very precise instructions, you would've probably drowned in a sea of bright green and red shirts. You had made it safely, but now you were standing in a crowd of people that all seemed to know each other - and then there was you. You had never felt so out of place, and the feeling of not belonging crawled up your neck and made you shiver in your thick jacket.
Not only that, but you had really struggled with what to wear. Lena had kept her promise and gifted you a jersey -signed, of course. But it was the pink one for Germany, not a Bayern Munich jersey. You had spent hours thinking about it until you realized that it was cold as fuck outside and that you would have to wear a jacket the entire time anyway. In the end, you had opted for a dark red turtleneck that did slightly poke out of the collar of your jacket. The excitement you had felt just 24 hours ago had vanished into thin air. You had spent the entire last day daydreaming about Lena. It had seriously become a problem that even Ben, your employee, had caught on to - turning into an endless string of teasing from the student. You had swapped orders, given the wrong change and dropped a whole carton of milk, which, of course, had been open and milk seemed to seep into every corner of your little café. But you just couldn't get her out of your head. You had only ever seen her in the café, and on television, but from the first moment on, you had felt a weird sense of comfort around her. Her voice was strong and confident but so soothing, and her tone was always interested. In you. She’d asked you countless questions about your life, family and interests, and just thinking about it made you feel a bit warmer in the cold Munich air.
You jumped a little when somebody gently touched your shoulder from behind. “Oh, sorry, I didn't mean to startle you.” The woman gave you an apologetic smile as you turned around. She was slightly taller than you, her brown hair was up in a ponytail, and she was completely dressed in Bayern gear. You smiled back at her. “It’s fine, I wasn't paying attention.” “You’re Y/N, right ?” Your eyes widened, surprised at her question, which deepened her smile. “Lena told me to find you. I'm Kathi, one of her teammates. She told me you didn't know anybody and that I should keep an eye on you.” Her smile just kept growing bigger, and your cheeks started burning. Lena was really looking out for you. “Oh, that's really sweet. But you don't have to. I don't want to bother you.” You tried to decline. Feeling out of place was a horrible feeling, but spending your time with people because they felt like they had to didn't really sound nice either. Even though Lena had obviously meant well. But Kathi just raised her hand in a throwaway motion and gestured for you to follow her. “It’s perfectly fine. It's always nice to see a fresh face. Come on, I’ll introduce you to some more people, and then we can watch the game together.” You hesitated for a second before thanking her and following her, feeling a lot warmer than you had just a few seconds ago.
Lena was jumping up and down on the spot, still feeling nervous and pumped full of adrenalin. The game had finished almost an hour ago, with Bayern securing a close 3:2 win, but Lena couldn't calm down. After the game, she felt the desire to run straight towards you. But she of course had to give a quick interview where the reporter asked many annoying and borderline boring questions about her playing her old club, and then she was pulled to the showers. Which was probably a good idea - she did play for the whole 90 minutes. Now she was clean, dressed in jeans, a sweatshirt and a bayern jacket. Her hair was still slightly damp as she waited with the others for you, Kathi and a couple other players and family members. Both teams had agreed to go to a bar or club together, and Lena was mostly excited because you were coming. It was nice seeing her old teammates, but they just couldn't beat you.
She was still nervously bouncing up and down when somebody wrapped their arm around her shoulders. “You have to relax, girl.” Alex Popp mumbled in her ear, and Lena could hear her old captain's grin without even looking at her. She was about to answer something, but the words got stuck in her throat. You were walking onto the parking lot, laughing at something Kathi had said, and Lena needed a second to comprehend the situation. She knew you were gorgeous and that she had a big, fat crush on you. But seeing you outside the coffee shop in a big Jacket that seemed to swallow you was a whole different deal. “Holy shit” she muttered to herself, but Poppi heard, of course, and started giggling. “You really have it bad Obi, huh?” She pushed her forward lightly “Go get her.”
Lena barely registered the words as she walked towards you. Kathi saw her first, giving Lena the same knowing smile she had gotten from pretty much everybody all day long. You turned your head, finally looking at her. Lena's heart jumped as your face split into a big smile. It only took a couple more steps, and you were in Lena's arms. You reached up to wrap yours around her neck, while she wrapped hers around your waist, pulling you close and then slightly picking you off the ground. She felt your breath against her ear as you started giggling. “Hi Lena.” You mumbled out, laying your chin on her shoulder. All she could do was whisper a quiet “Hi” Back while holding you as close as both of your jackets would let her. Lena lowered you slowly onto the ground, not letting go yet. Having you out of your coffee shop felt like a huge accomplishment, and she was scared you were just going to disappear into thin air if she let you go. You started giggling again rubbing your arms up and down her body.
“I won't disappear, you know?” You said like you had heard her thoughts, and Lena slowly released her hold while still keeping her hands on your jacket clad waist. “I'm just proud that I got you out of that coffee shop of yours.” She repeated her thoughts out loud.
“Well technically Jule did.”
“Oh so you came here for her?”
“Well, I didn't say that, but she asked me, didn’t she? I also don’t have a Bayern jersey yet, but I was thinking that I might look better in green”
“Oh, I don’t know, I think the red turtleneck looks rather nice on you.”
Lena felt a strange rush of confidence when she leaned closer and mumbled, “And my last name will surely look better on you than anybody else's.” Your banter was interrupted before you had a chance to react. Jule was standing behind you, looking rather impatient. “I know you're happy to see each other, but we're all freezing our asses off, so how about you continue this conversation in a nice, warm bar?” You both nodded, and Lena let her hands drop from your waist.
She was about to walk towards the other when you pulled her back by her sleeve. You didn't wait for Lena to react as you got on your tiptoes and put your hat, that had been on your head just seconds ago, onto hers. You made sure it was sitting nicely on her head before you dropped back down onto your soles. Lena couldn't help but stare at you and your blushing cheeks as you mumbled something about “Wet hair” and “flu season” and brushed past her to the group of people waiting for you.
Your cheeks were flushed, and you were still sweating, even though you had left the bar at least five minutes ago. It was around three in the morning, and the November air in Munich was quite chilly. It had been really hot in the bar, and it would have been a lie to say that alcohol and Lena's presence didn't also factor into your current state.
She hadn't left the spot next to you, basically the entire night. Only getting up twice because you had to use the restroom. Her constant presence didn't stop her teammates - former and current - from telling embarrassing stories and throwing jabs at Lena. Jule had video or photo evidence for pretty much all of Lena's embarrassing moments and didn't hesitant to show them. At first, you had been scared that Lena would feel uncomfortable, but she seemed to enjoy having you with her in the chaos. You were surprised at how comfortable you felt surrounded by all the strangers, but they and especially Lena, of course, had made it easy.
You talked with Jule for quite a while before she decided that it was time for some karaoke. Then you started chatting with Georgia, one of Lena's teammates from England, and lastly with Magda and Pernille. All with Lena by your side, ordering drinks for you, but also making sure you had the occasional Water. She was drinking beer the entire night, and by the end of it, she had her arm wrapped around your shoulders, her thigh pressed against yours, while talking to one of her old teammates about soccer stuff you didn't understand.
Time had rushed by and people had left slowly one by one until only You, Lena, Jule, Lea - the other friend she had brought to the café - Magda, Pernille and Lynn were left.
Jule swayed towards you, Lea and Lena, a huge mischievous smile on her face as she straight up walked into Lena. Lena didn't drink as much and could thankfully hold both of their weights instead of just falling over. “Soo my dear friend -” She slurred into Lena's jacket. “I’ve decided that I’m gonna stay at Leas place tonight, so this lovely lady-” She turned around surprisingly fast with her finger pointed towards you, almost poking your eye out. “- can go home with you. If you know what I mean. Wink-Wonk.” She actually managed to wink in sync with her words, and you could see Lena and Lea cringing at their friend's actions. You - also pretty drunk at this point - started laughing at both of their faces.
Lea pulled Jule away from Lena, her face still looking slightly disturbed, leaving you to only laugh harder. “Alright, that's enough; let's go, Jule. Good night, you two.” Lea said quickly and walked away, half carrying Jule before she could say anything else. Your laughter slowly died down as you turned back to Lena. "I can’t believe she just actually said ‘wink-wonk’ out loud.” Lena was shaking her head, her face looking just as disturbed as Leas. That only made you laugh again, and Lena started shaking her head, amused at your clearly drunk state.
The other players also bid their goodbyes and disappeared in different directions. “Come on, let's get you home.” Lena started putting your jacket on, even zipping it up as you kept giggling, your breath blowing clouds into the night air. Once Lena was satisfied with your jacket, she put the hat you had previously put on her back on your head. “There we go.” She mumbled more to herself as she intertwined your fingers with hers before pulling you in one direction. You followed her dutiful.
“Your home or my home?” you asked after a couple of steps. Lena didn't look at you and kept walking. “Well, if you want to go home, you're gonna have to tell me where you live. But-” She broke off the sentence, the clear insinuation floating in between you. She cleared her throat and finished her sentence. “But you’re more than welcome to stay with me - if you like, of course.”
You were quiet for a couple of seconds. That had less to do with hesitation and more to do with the fact that you were drunk and Lena was touching you. Both of these factors seemed to slow your brain's functionality immensely. Her hand was a little rougher and bigger than yours. Her fingers were intertwined with yours, and she wasn't squeezing your hand, but still holding on tight. You relished in the feeling of her warm hand against yours for a couple of seconds before you realized that you already knew the answer, but you actually had to tell Lena as well.
“I live above the café.” You answered her question and if you had been any less drunk you would have probably caught onto her shoulders dropping slightly. “But I would like staying with you.” You finished your sentence. “Yeah?” Lena was now finally looking at you, her brown eyes twinkling. You nodded as confirmation.
So the two of you kept walking through the quiet city, a comfortable silence growing between you as well. You could feel yourself getting a little sober with every step, slowly starting to grow cold in your jacket. Lena of course noticed and pulled you a little closer. “We’re almost there” She murmured towards you, leading you around another corner and pointing at a building down the street. “ Right there. We’ve almost made it, love” Your now less drunk head caught up with the nickname. You could get used to that.
Lena led you the last couple of steps before halting in front of a door and getting a key out of her pocket. She let go of your hand, and you could have sworn the temperature dropped at least 5 degrees in that second. But Lena quickly ushered you inside, even the staircase feeling a little warmer than what it was outside. She led you up two flights of stairs before stopping at the next door. You silently grinned at the amount of shoes that were stacked up in front of her apartment as Lena unlocked that door as well.
Her apartment was pretty big and modern. The outside had looked like an old building, but it was clear that this had been renovated not too long ago. You were frozen in her entryway, looking at her apartment. All the walls were white. From where you were standing, you could see right into the living room and the kitchen, a door that probably led to a balcony, and two more doors probably leading into the bedroom and bathroom.
Lena poked you in the side. “You need help?” She asked in an amused tone, making you turn around to her. She had already taken her shoes and jacket off. You were definitely sober enough to take off your clothes, but where was the fun in that. So you just nodded quietly, and Lena took your hat off and started unzipping your jacket. She gently helped you out of it and reached for a hanger right behind you. She hung your jacket neatly up before returning her attention to you. You were closer to each other than you had been before. You could smell her shampoo from where you were standing. Her eyes looking right into yours. Lena brought a hand up to your face and tucked a strand of hair behind your right ear. “I really want to kiss you.” She almost whispered into the quiet room. “But you're drunk and-”
“ I'm not that drunk.” You interrupted her quickly. You had been thinking about kissing her for, like, the past three months. Glee twinkled in her eyes. “No?” She asked. Her hand was now on your neck, her thumb gently stroking along your jawline. Warmth spread through your entire body. “ You seemed pretty drunk when you laughed about Jule saying ‘Wink-wonk’ for five minutes.” You couldn't help the chuckle that escaped you at that memory. “That was pretty funny, though.” You responded. “And that was like at least thirty minutes ago, so I'm way more sober and way less drunk now, and I really, really want to kiss you as well.”
Your patience ran out, pretty much immediately after the words had left your mouth. One of your hands snaked its way around her waist, and the other found its way into Lena's hair at the back of her head as you pulled her down towards you. Her lips smashed into yours a little less gently than you had planned, but it didn't really matter. Her mouth was finally on yours. Lena let out a tiny moan, and a shiver went through your entire body. Her right hand stayed on your neck, pulling you close, her other hand made its way to your lower back as you opened her mouth. You got lost in each other for, god knows, how long. The only noise in the apartment was panting and little moans and groans from the both of you until Lena pulled away to get some air.
She breathed heavily for a couple of seconds while staring into your eyes. Then she murmured a tiny “Fuck” before pulling your mouth back onto hers. You had lost any sense of time when you pushed back slightly again, both gasping for air. Lena's eyes were blown wide open, and they had a certain glint in them that you hadn't seen before. “We still have to take off your shoes?” Lena said between gasps, but the words didn't really register until she spoke your name, pulling your eyes away from Lena's lips. She quietly directed you towards a small bench you hadn't even realized was there and made you sit on it. You didn't even have time to take off your shoes, because Lena was faster. She kneeled in front of you, taking off your shoes and then slipping sliders onto your feet.
“I think we should get you into a bed, huh?” She asked, still on her knees in front of you. Another thing you could get used to. “To do Wink-Wonk?” You asked, trying to look innocent. Lena laughed as she stood back up and then pulled you back up onto your feet as well.
“Not tonight, love.”
“ So, another night.”
“ All the nights you want.”
“ All of them? That's a bold promise to make Oberdorf.”
She pressed a quick peck on your lips, catching you by surprise.
“One I intend to keep.”
You were too stunned to respond. You liked this version of Lena. So far, you’ve liked every version of Lena you've seen, but a slightly horny one was definitely in the top 5. “Now.” Lena tried again. “Let's get you into bed.”
Lena woke up to the noises of her coffee machine running. It took her a second to get oriented before she remembered last night. A smile spread across her face when she realized that you hadn't only stayed the night, but that you were up and seemingly making coffee. For a second, she was a bit sad that she hadn't gotten the chance to wake up next to you. But for now, she was satisfied that she at least got to fall asleep next to you.
She had somehow managed to get you into the bathroom to brush your teeth and wash your face before leading you into her bedroom. You had taken off your clothes and pulled on one of Lena's shirts without complaining before cuddling up to her in bed.
Lena quickly slipped out of her bed and couldn't help but glance in the mirror to make sure she didn't look entirely crazy after just waking up. Her eyes looked tired from the late night, but all in all, it could have been worse. She quietly made her way out of the bedroom into the open kitchen and living space.
She immediately spotted you in the kitchen. Your hair was down, the only thing you were wearing was the big shirt Lena had given you last night, and you were quietly humming along to a Christmas song while making coffee. Lena stopped in her tracks and admired you for a few seconds. The sight of you in her kitchen was really nice, and she was also a little surprised that you didn't seem to be hungover at all.
She was pretty sure that she had had that dream before. You, half naked in her kitchen. All the pining and teasing had been well worth it. Lena felt a strong sense of belonging wash over her. She wanted you in her life. Half naked in her kitchen, sitting in the stands at her games, waiting for her in the coffee shop and in her bed, maybe with even fewer clothes next time. That was probably a lot of emotion so early in the morning, so Lena decided to move that serious conversation to a later time when you were both fully awake.
She made her way towards you around her couch and the kitchen island until she could reach you, wrapping her arms around your waist and pulling you into her. Your body stiffened for a split second before melting into her, holding the cup that already had a finished cappuccino - no sugar - securely in your hand. Lena mumbled “Morning” into the skin of your neck before pressing a little kiss there. She smiled when she felt your pulse quicken underneath her lips. “Morning,” you mumbled back, reaching forward to put the milk carton down. You turned in her arms, wrapping yours around her neck to give her a proper good morning kiss. Lena couldn't help but sigh into it, pulling a satisfying shiver out of you. You split after a few seconds, both of your faces spread with dopey smiles. “You know what?” You leaned forward again, pressing a little kiss close to her ear.
“You have a very nice coffee maker for somebody who gets coffee every morning”

Home is, whenever I'm with you | Lena Oberdorf

Lena Oberdorf x german!bayern munich!reader
Summary: Lena suprises you with her move to your childhood club. To finally be with you properly.
Warnings: a bit of angst, fluff
English is not my first language
Masterlist

Girl, I never loved one like you
✧・゚: *✧・゚:* ✧・゚: *✧・゚:* ✧・゚: *✧・゚:*
You grew up in Munich. Everything you know is there. Your famil. Your friends. Your bestfriend, Sydney. Your club.... Everything you loved was in one place. Exept your home, your lover, Lena Oberdorf. She plays for Wolfsburg. That wouldn't be the problem, even trought its the rival, but Wolfsburg is too far away from Munich, to see each other more then once in a month. And its slowly infecting your realationship.
It's started when you both grow out of the honeymoon phase. That doesn't mean you're stopped being smitten about each other. But the distant made it worse. A 6 hours drive or a one hour flight. It started to come to much.
It wasn't because of the lack of trust you have for each other. You trust each other very much. But you missed the closeness, the cuddles or the kisses. The things you would only get, if you play each other or in the german camp. It was rarely that one come to visit the other. To caught up with training for your clubs.
So everytime the national break started, you follow each other like lost puppies. It's mostly Lena, who follows you everywhere. Her Wolfsburg teammates will tease all the time, when the break is going to start or gets closer. But she doesn't care. She only cares about being close to you.
But you follow her everywhere too. And your teammates tease you about that too. Like obi, you don't care either. You're just happy being with her again.
-
To the problem is only one solution. One has the move clubs. But you both are too stuborn.
"I'm not moving away, liebling. (Darling) I have everything here."
"I change would look on you, baby. You can't always stay in the same place your whole life." Obi argues back on a face time call. It wasn't a fight. More like a discussion, in wich you both bring the same arguments over and over again.
"You know i can't handle change. And it would be a change for you too."
"I know you can't. And i already had a change. I moved from Essen. There wouldn't be so much change. You know half of the from national and you got friends with Lynn."
You look away, to the wall, feeling defeated. "Ha Gotcha, Schatz. (honey)" Obi said happily. "If you move to Bayern, you can play with and see Lea more often." You knew what the Lea card would do. You know that Lena misses to play in the same team as Lea, like in Essen.
"Didn't you wanted to show me your new tattoo idea?" Obi distracts from the topic.
You knew Obi wants to distracts from the topic. She was a bad loser and she knew how right you were, Obi just didn't want to admit that. So you played along.
"What do you think of something like that?" You showed her a page from your sketchbook.
Since then none of you dared to bring up the topic again. In the meanwhile Obi has gotten an offer from bayern munich. She didn't know what to do with it. Should she tell you? Should she ignore it? These question were toturing her mind.
-
Her solution: She's going to ask on national break what you would say if she got an offer from your beloved club.
But unfortunately the right time wouldn't come to Lena. Everytime she was close of telling you something happened. So she finally decide to say it to you no matter what.
She walked into the chill room, wich she knew you mostly are. You were there but you talked with Sydney. She didn't mean to overhear, but she stayed as she heard her own name out if your mouth.
"I love Lena, but i don't know how long it's going to work" Obis face fell. She doesn't want you to think like that. She wants to be with you forever. With sad face she walks away. She talks to you after your conversation with Sydney. But she stopped as she heard Sydney speaking.
"Don't say stupid shit like that. It's going to work out. You both are so smitten and follow each other like lost puppies. It makes me love sick. It's getting to the point to become disgusting."
"Yeah because your Single" you chuckle and on Obis face a smile grows.
"But i'm serious. If you leave, then there would be nothing much different. You still have me and Klara. We still be friends and pull pranks on camp or annoy Laura. Okay? You still got us and the team. We're a big family." Sydney hugs you.
'That's why' Obi realized. You're scared that if you move, your friends will turn their back on you. Obi walked away with smile. Knowing what she's about to do, calling her agent.
-
You were more then suprised as Lena said she will be visiting for a few days, but gadly take it. With Lena being in Munich you were happier. Sydney and Klara took notice of it and asked themselves why. But they got the answer, when Lena picks you up from training.
"Hope it wasn't too boring, being alone." You kissed Obi. After you two broke apart, you hugged her. Behind your back Sydney, Klara and Georgia made gagging faces. Lena rolled her eyes at them.
"No it wasn't, Liebling" It really wasn't. It was exhausting. She was talking with the club, her agent and the Bayern coach. All to negotiate her move to Bayern Munich.
-
The day she signed the contract she had mixed feelings. The tought of leaving Jule behind haunted her. But the blonde told her to go, to get her girl. It made Obi feel a bit better about it, but not fully. The other side was excitment. To be near you. To kiss you everyday. To cuddle with you. To cook with you. To do everything with you.
-
Before the national camp in february the romurs of Lenas move spread over. You saw it too, of course. You didn't know how to feel. There was hope, but you knew to not trust rumors. And Obi wasn't a help either. She only said that she didn't know how or why there are rumors. It broke her heart to see your face fell, just to cover it up quickly with a smile.
-
On the 14th february her move to Bayern will be officinal. She came to munich for the day, because of valentines. She knew you had a came on the evening, so she took you on a date for lunch. The whole day you weren't allowed to look on your phone. You wondered why and asked her. She only told you it would ruin her suprise.
After lunch in your favourite restaurant she took you to your favourite park, in wich you finally were allowed to look on your phone. You looked confussed at her but did anyway.
"Now go on insta"
"Obi what have you done?"
"Nothing" she smiles at you.
You looked on your phone your confussed look turned into shock. You looked up at Obi, who smiled slyly at you. "Suprise?"
"You fucking idiot. I love you" You run to Lena and hug her. "But why would you do that? You didn't had to"
"I know. But i love you. And Bayern didn't Sound that bad." With that she kisses you. Happy play with you next season and to in with you

a/n: omg hii. this is my first time writing something. englisch is not my first language. i hope you enjoy it <3 ps. its in a setting where lena isnt injured
wc: 1,6k
warnings: flirting, fluff
"It's really cold here in Germany, isn't it?" I said to my mum, while wearing my big sister's name on the back of my Matildas jersey. She agreed with me by nodding, but she was so focused on Steph that she didn’t even recognize me.
A few weeks ago, they confirmed that Germany would be playing against us in the last friendly matches of 2024. Normally, Steph wouldn’t invite us to away games because she’s always worried she’s a burden to us, even though we always put our hearts into supporting her.
Since the Tillies' training camp for this year's friendly matches is in Switzerland, traveling with Steph to the game in Duisburg, Germany, was surprisingly convenient.
I haven't seen much of Germany so far, just a few glimpses during our morning walk through the city today.
Steph had warned us about the freezing European weather, but I foolishly didn’t take her advice seriously. Now I’m shivering like an ice cube, wearing nothing but the away jersey with the number seven on the back and a thin raincoat.
As the game went on, I noticed a rather rough and aggressive player from the opposing team. I didn’t know her name, but I caught sight of the number eight on her jersey. She had caught my eye a few months ago when Arsenal played Wolfsburg in the Champions League. Back then, she was very physical, especially against McCabe. I admired her passion on the pitch and the way she protected her teammates at all costs.
"Hey, Y/N!" I heard Steph call my name loudly through the tunnel as I walked toward her.
I looked at her with a big smile. "Another win! I’m so proud of you."
She thanked me by pulling me into a big, warm hug. "I’m so glad you made it to the game. It was fun playing in front of my little pest."
I just giggled and rolled my eyes at the nickname she had given Kyra and me a few years ago. Kyra and I have grown really close since she joined the senior teams for Australia and Arsenal. Steph always complains about having two annoying sisters now.
-
"I'm heading to the shower real quick to grab my stuff. Can you wait here for me? I'll be back soon so we can drive home together," Steph said, looking into my eyes while patiently waiting for my reply.
"Yeah, but hurry up, I'm cold," I responded as she turned around and headed back to the changing room.
I was too curious to just stay where Steph had left me, so I started walking around—maybe, just maybe—hoping to catch a glimpse of Germany’s number eight. For once, life seemed to be on my side.
Lena was just about to head inside for a tactical talk when she spotted me. Surprised to see someone standing in the corridor, she approached, assuming I was a fan.
"Excuse me, are you alright?"
I flinched at the sound of a voice behind me. I felt caught and out of place, wandering around where only players were usually allowed.
I noticed Lena waiting patiently for an answer as I stammered, "Uh, yes, just waiting for someone."
Lena raised an eyebrow, slightly amused by my response. It was obvious I wasn’t sure what to say, and she could tell I didn’t belong there.
"I see," she said, offering a small smile. "Who...are you waiting for, if I may ask?"
"I'm waiting for my sister. She's in the changing room now, but she’ll be back soon. She asked me to wait for her here," I said, babbling nervously, realizing I might be talking too much.
As I took a closer look at her face, I realized it—Germany’s number eight was standing in front of me. And on top of that, she was talking to me.
She looked good from a distance, but now, face to face, I was too stunned to take in how breathtakingly gorgeous she was. Crap. She was smirking at me. I was definitely staring.
Lena couldn’t help but be amused at my awkwardness. She thought it was kind of cute. Leaning against the wall, she crossed her arms and gave me an appraising look.
“Your sister, huh? Who is she, if you don’t mind me asking?”
She clearly suspected I knew who she was, and I could see a flicker of smugness in her smirk as my eyes darted away from hers.
"She’s playing for Australia. Steph Catley. I’m Y/N Catley, by the way," I said, aware of the smirk she was holding back after noticing my own lingering gaze.
Lena’s eyes widened slightly in recognition, and she let out a small laugh, clearly amused.
"Oh, really? So you’re the sister of one of my opponents, huh? That makes things...interesting."
I don’t know what came over me, but suddenly I felt bold enough to reply cheekily.
"Interesting? Which things, huh?" I crossed my arms and leaned against the nearest wall, aware of her eyes scanning me. "I hope you like what you see," I added before she had a chance to respond.
Lena was momentarily surprised by my boldness but quickly recovered, her smirk growing wider.
"Oh, I do like what I see," she replied, stepping closer.
She looked into my eyes and added softly, "Very much, actually."
My mouth went dry. She was even prettier up close. Her eyes were mesmerizing, and I could feel myself getting lost in them.
Noticing my flustered state, Lena took another step forward, closing the gap between us. Her voice dropped to a sultry tone.
"You know...I’d be lying if I said I hadn’t noticed you in the stands during the game."
My cheeks flushed. "Wait. Really? How?" I asked, shocked and shy, never thinking she’d notice me too.
Lena chuckled. "You’re not exactly hard to spot, you know. I’m surprised you didn’t notice me noticing you."
She took another step closer, her body now only inches from mine.
"You’re pretty hard to take my eyes off of," she said softly, tucking a strand of my hair behind my ear. My skin tingled where her fingers brushed against me.
As I opened my mouth to reply, I heard someone shouting my name.
"Y/N??"
"Y/N CATLEY, WHERE ARE YOU??"
Lena stepped back slightly as the shouting grew louder, though her gaze never left mine.
“Sounds like your sister is looking for you,” she murmured, amused.
"Y/N, there you are—what are you doing here...with her?" Steph asked, her eyes widening as she noticed who was standing in front of me.
Lena laughed lightly, giving Steph a charming smile.
“Ah, so this is your sister,” she said, glancing between Steph and me. “We were just having a friendly chat. What’s wrong with that?”
Steph rolled her eyes, clearly not in the mood to deal with Lena’s provocations or that smug smile. "Come on, Y/N. We’re leaving," she said, grabbing my arm.
As Steph pulled me away, I managed to lean in and whisper to Lena, "Text me on Instagram, pretty."
Later, lying on my bed and listening to Troye Sivan, my phone buzzed.

Merry Christmas (From Me To You) | Lea Schüller
Tumblr media
word count: 1895
warnings: tooth rotting fluff
summary: you gift lea something special for christmas
a/n: merry christmas! i'm also fully intending to write a prequel to this 🎄
Tumblr media
A quiet simple Christmas.
It was all Lea had wished for really, after the year she’s had. Her club season with Bayern, qualifying for the Olympics and then winning it with Germany, the little injuries she’d sustained here and there…it’s had its ups and downs and now all Lea wants is just some peace and quiet at last.
That’s what she gets when she wakes, a soft smile immediately forming on her face.
You have an arm draped loosely around her waist, your face buried in her neck.
Lea thinks you must be trying to steal her body warmth with how close you are to her.
‘Merry Christmas my love.’ She whispers, pressing a gentle kiss onto your hair.
You stir a bit, mumbling unintelligibly before deliberately tugging more of the blanket away from your lover who laughs out loud at your blatant attempt to be the blanket hog.
‘If you’re cold, you could have just asked me to hold you.’ The blonde teases.
‘Then hug me.’
‘Please.’ You add cheekily.
Lea’s chuckles fill the room as she does as you ask, pulling you flush against her.
You sigh happily, melting into your wife whose comfort immediately envelops you.
‘Better than any space heater.’
‘Oh is that what you married me for?’ Lea gasps in mock outrage.
‘Course.’ You grin.
Soaking in the moment, you lay there for another twenty minutes before finally deciding to get up.
‘Merry Christmas Lea!’ You cheer.
The striker giggles, ‘Merry Christmas indeed.’
You lean in to share a slow kiss with her, trying to make sure she knows how thankful you are for her. Lea must feel it because she reciprocates in kind, taking her time in kissing you back.
Then she pulls away with a contented sigh, staring at you in the way she does sometimes, like she can’t believe you’re real.
With a tender caress to your cheek, she asks, ‘Waffles sound good to you?’
It does and ten minutes later, after you’ve brushed your teeth together, you’re sitting at the breakfast counter and Lea is wearing that adorably ridiculous apron that she always does when she cooks.
Embroidered on the hot pink apron are the words, ‘Kiss the cook.’
Obi had gotten it for her as a gag gift and you love it. happily kissing the chef every time she puts it on.
‘All you have to do is sit still and look pretty for me okay?’ Lea insists, waving away your protests to help.
‘Meine liebe come on. It’s not fair. The least I can do is cut the strawberries.’
‘Nope. You see this apron? It gives me the honour of being the chef. Your chef. So please just relax and let your personal chef do all the work.’
Rolling your eyes, you hold your hands up in surrender and do as she asks.
Lea smirks in satisfaction as she begins preparing the ingredients.
******
Breakfast is amazing. Your wife rushes through her meal though, fidgeting despite her best efforts as she waits for you to finish.
You giggle at her as you finish the last bite of waffle, purposely taking a while to chew and swallow it.
When you’re truly done, she practically dumps all the dirty dishes into the sink.
‘Okay! Time for presents please my love?’
The blonde hops from one foot to another, glancing at you with pleading blue eyes.
Unable to stop the laugh that bubbles up, you acquiesce with a nod and a bright smile.
Sitting by the tree, you’re quickly presented with a meticulously wrapped gift.
‘For you.’ Lea says, excitement clear in her words.
Picking at the sticky tape holding it closed, you unwrap it to find a delicate silver bracelet in a small box.
‘Oh Lea…it’s beautiful. Thank you.’
Your wife prompts, ‘Look at the inscription.’
It’s cool to touch and you hold it up so you can scrutinise it more closely.
Six digits in a careful cursive font.
Your wedding date.
It must show on your face, how touched you are because Lea places a light kiss onto your forehead.
‘I’m glad you like it.
‘I love it and I love you.’ You promise.
The Bayern Munich player blushes, ‘I love you too.’
Even after all this time, years of dating and a year of marriage, you still manage to elicit this reaction from her. It goes both ways.
Lea happily agrees to help you put on the bracelet and said piece of jewellery is reflecting the christmas lights strung on your tree when you reach under it for your wife’s present.
You had specifically chosen a plain red wrapping paper, tying an unassuming white ribbon around it. You know of the blonde’s mischievous habit all too well.
She can be silly, your Lea. That side of her is well hidden, only ever surfacing with the people she is truly comfortable with.
Even then, it’s only on special occasions like Christmas.
Her fans would never think of her as the sort of person who would inspect every individual package under the tree, looking for those with her name written on them and attempting to guess what it could be from the shape, size and weight of it but you know better.
Over the past few days, you’d caught Lea shaking various presents of hers, attempting to find the tiniest hint of what it could be.
It was why you’d only set out yours last night, pushing it all the way under the tree as a precaution.
Your efforts must have worked because the striker accepts it eagerly, muttering under her breath about how could she not have seen it before.
Her enthusiasm in tearing the paper off makes you giggle, the look on her face as she stops short getting a louder reaction.
With her forehead scrunched up and head tilted to the side, it’s an endearing sight.
Lea’s so genuinely curious when she asks, ‘Why are you giving me this back?’
The blonde’s fingers run over the worn leather cover of the journal she had given you for your last birthday. Unbeknownst to you, it had been something she’d bought on a whim after noticing how much you like writing down your thoughts, ideas and little observations.
Now your laughter trails off, something your wife can’t place glimmering in your eyes as you whisper, ‘Just open it. It’s yours now, you’ll see.’
With her heart beating faster in anticipation, Lea does as you request.
The first page is one she’d recognised immediately, her own handwriting being displayed in the form of a short note to you.
The following pages are unfamiliar and Lea has to take a moment to read them.
Your neat, deliberate handwriting fills the pages, dates marked carefully at the top of each entry.
17 March - My wife brought me coffee this morning before training. She spent ages getting it just right because she knows how picky I am. I think it tasted better because she made it for me.
Lea blinks, tears already forming in her eyes as she takes in the short but heartfelt paragraph. She flips again.
23 June - We spent the evening on the couch watching a movie. I think it was supposed to be a thriller, but Lea fell asleep halfway through. I didn’t mind. She’s so beautiful even when she sleeps.
Another page. This one practically making her heart burst with how much affection she holds for you.
19 November - After a tough match, Lea surprised me with flowers. She didn’t say much, just kissed me and handed them to me. She always knows what I need before I even do. I must be the luckiest person in the world to have her love me the way she does.
Entry after entry, page after page, you had chronicled the quiet moments of their life together. Little things that might have seemed inconsequential to anyone else but had clearly meant everything to you.
As the German woman continues to read, picking pages at random now that it’s clear the entire journal has been filled with these entries, her hands begin to tremble.
The sheer amount of love you’ve condensed in these pages…it’s the most precious gift Lea thinks she’s ever received till she reaches the final page.
Her breath hitches when she sees it.
Taped there, at the center of the page, is a small ultrasound photo.
Lea’s vision blurs as she takes it in, her mind spinning.
Beneath the picture, written in your achingly familiar handwriting are the words, ‘Merry Christmas Lea.’
For a moment, she simply stares at the page, unable to move or speak. All traces of her previous playfulness have disappeared, replaced with a quiet reverence.
Her fingers brush over the print out carefully as though trying to confirm it is real.
Your heart is pounding when slowly, she looks up at you with hopeful blue eyes.
‘You’re serious? I-Is this…’
‘Real. It’s so real.’ You confirm, salty tears of your own sliding down your cheeks.
Your wife sets the journal aside, closing the space between your bodies in a swift motion.
‘You’re incredible. T-This is everything. You’re everything.’ She stammers, holding onto you like you’re a dream and she’s afraid she might wake up.
‘I found out two weeks ago and I wanted to tell you but thought it might make the perfect present. I wanted to make it special because you deserve that.’
Lea pulls you into a breathtaking kiss then, only able to bear pulling away a fractional amount.
Just enough for her to place her hand over your stomach, tentatively brushing against the fabric of the sweater you’re wearing.
‘You’re in there.’ She whispers to your baby, the sentence filled so completely with adoration even though the blonde’s only known about them for a handful of minutes.
Her thumb moves in a slow circle, fresh tears spilling forth.
‘I can’t believe this…’ She chokes out.
You place your hand over hers, ‘You are going to be an amazing mom.’
Lea lets out a weak, sort of watery laugh, ‘Not without you meine liebe. We’re going to do this together. I’m so in love with you and I-’
She glances down to where her hand is resting, ‘I already love them too.’
The gasping sob you let out at that moment matches Lea’s, and you two stay like that for a long moment, foreheads touching and your hands joined over the tiny miracle growing inside you.
******
Later, much later when you’ve gone to make some tea, Lea picks up the journal again.
She flips through the pages, rereading every word, her tears drying but her smile never fading. When she gets to the last page again, she carefully folds the journal to her chest, cradling it as though it’s something fragile and irreplaceable.
When you return, Lea reaches for you, pulling you back into her arms. Her voice is soft but full of love as she mumbles against your shoulder, ‘You’ve made me the happiest person in the world. Every day, you make me the happiest person in the world.’
In answer, you can only smile, pressing a tender kiss to your lover’s cheek, ‘You do the same for me every day.’
Right there and then, as the snow falls outside and Lea pulls you even closer, she knows that this is by far, the best Christmas she’s ever had.

After Midnight II Sydney Lohmann x Reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media
romantic masterlist | platonic masterlist | word count: 1377
summary: Sydney wants to confess her love to reader as the clock strikes midnight on New Year's Eve. requested
author's note: thank you, anon for sending us the request, enjoy. ❤️❤️
Tumblr media
The New Year’s Eve party was well underway in the picturesque old flat which offered a wonderful view of Munich. Dance music was blasting from the speakers.
The balloons with 2025 printed on them were either on the floor or the ceiling.
Laura Freigang had set up a little photobooth in the corner of the living room where the guests could take photos with a Polaroid camera.
“Tonight, I’ll tell her.”, Sydney Lohmann thought.
The Bayern Munich footballer only realised that she had said it out loud when the Frankfurt player replied to her sentence. An unconvinced laugh left the forward’s lips: “Sure, Syd.”
Her doubtful reaction only made it clearer to Sydney that tonight was about telling you about her feelings for you or keeping quiet about them forever.
“What? You don’t believe me?”, she asked the German national teammate.
With an amused twinkle in her blue eyes, Laura shook her head: “You’ve been saying that for months.”
Each of the Bayern Munich players who attended the New Year’s Eve party had an opinion on Sydney’s crush. The crush which was you was the only guest who hasn’t arrived yet.
“Literally. It got to the point that it was annoying.”, Klara teased her.
In a jokingly tone, Georgia added: “And that’s coming from Klara herself.”
“Excuse me? So rude. Maybe I should consider joining Barcelona in the summer.”, she pouted.
“No, you won’t do that.”, Sydney observed smiling.
Excitedly, the Scottish Sam Kerr intervened: “Girls, Syd’s crush is coming!”
“Perfect time, we can finally continue drinking.”, the English midfielder remarked in good spirits.
“I’ll get us a new round.”, Laura announced cheerfully.
You entered the room slightly ashamed, knowing full well that you were the last to arrive, even though it wasn't your fault. While you apologized your cheeks turned hot: “I’m so sorry, I know ‘m late, you can blame the MVG for that, but at least I got the dessert to make up for it.”
“Oh, no problem”, Sydney waved it off before helping you take off your winter coat and revealing your New Year's Eve outfit underneath.
The fellow football player admired the view, then she cleared her throat awkwardly: “Just glad you’re here.”
Her truthfulness caught you off guard, so the next words tended to stumble out of your mouth.: “ Me too. What I mean is.. I’m glad to be here with all of you.”
“Uhm, would you like a drink?”, Syndey offered, licking her lips nervously.
“Yes, please.”, you agreed.
With a silent nod she turned towards Laura who was in charge of the drinks that night: “Lau, can you make her one too?”
“Of course!”, the Frankfurt player replied happily, getting up to start mixing another drink.
“Thanks.”
A few moments later, she came over to you with your finished drink. As Laura handed you the glass, she winked and whispered: “Do everything I would do too.”
“That’s horrible advice.“, Sydney chuckled.
“Honestly.“, you agreed, taking a sip of the sweet drink to hide the blood rushing into your cheeks.
Sydney shook her head with a dismissive hand gesture: “Ignore her, she already had a few drinks.”
You watched as Laura retreated and sat back down with Klara and the other Bayern players: “Laura sounded pretty sober to me. How are you?”
The midfielder seemed to be surprised by your question, her eyes widened slightly and she blinked a few times: “I’m fine. Why?”
“You look a bit nervous. Don’t you like fireworks? Klara said we can do some sparklers later…”
“I’m not nervous, I’m totally fine.”, she said but she started to look even more horrified at your assumptions which made it hard to believe her.
“Okay.”
“Anyone wants some snacks?”, she suddenly changed the topic and your heart dropped at an instant, hoping you didn’t offend her.
“I do!”, Klara yelled from the other side of the room.
You watched quietly as Sydney disappeared into kitchen, followed by a concerned looking Laura.
While Sydney plated some pre-made snacks on a tray, Laura watched her with her arms crossed in front of her chest: “The operation Truth isn’t going too well so far, right?”
“I can’t do it right now, that would be weird.”, Sydney replied with her back to her German teammate.
“Weird? Why? For how much longer do you want to wait, Syd? Forever or until midnight?”
“Laura!”
“You know it’s true.”
Finally, the Bayern midfielder turned around and sighed: “I will tell her at midnight, don’t worry.”
Laura gave one satisfied nod, her facial features relaxing: “Good.”
“Here, take those snacks outside.”, Sydney said and put the tray into the Frankfurt players hands.
“Okay, but it’s getting closer to midnight.”, Laura reminded her.
One more frustrated sigh from Sydney made clear that she didn’t want to talk about it: “Laura, I got it all under control.”
That was the only thing you heard from their conversation.
“Under control? Kitchen emergency?”, you grinned as you walked in.
Sydney quickly shook her head: “No, all good. Would you like Laura to make you another drink?”
“Oh, I’m fine.”, you assured her.
The midfielder sighed relived: “Okay, great.”
“But can we talk?”, you asked her, nervously playing with a strand of hair and waiting for her answer.
She looked at you, taken by surprise: “Now?”
“I guess it has time until after the countdown.”, you bit your lip.
“Are you sure?”, Sydney raised an eyebrow at you.
“You tell me.”, you replied and passed the ball back to her.
“Okay, let’s talk about it in the new year.”, the blonde decided and ran a hand through her loose hair.
Suddenly you heard yourself speaking your inner thoughts out loud :”Do you think it’s better to be quiet than to speak up?”
“What do you mean?”, she frowned in confusion.
You shrugged your shoulders, slightly frustrated: “Doesn’t matter, let’s join the others on the balcony.”
To your great surprise, Sydney held on to your upper arm with her hand so that you couldn't go on to the other women, who could hardly wait for it to be 2025 and for them all to start a new chapter in their lives.
“Why are you being so secretive tonight?”, she wanted to know from you alarmed.
You glance calmly into her blue eyes: “I’m not, you’re so weird tonight too.”
“I’m not weird.”, the midfielder huffed.
Your heart sank as you questioned: “When what is it what you’re not telling me?”
“Who said I do?”, Sydney returned the question.
There was a touch of helplessness in your voice while your friends counted down the minutes until it was midnight in the background: “Syd..”
“Fine. I like you, y/n. I really like you.”, she admitted.
You gently framed her face with your hands and confessed: “Sydney, I like you the same way.”
“Wait, you do?”, the light-haired woman mumbled in astonishment.
Your mouth felt dry once you confirmed: “Yes.”
“You mean, not just like friends.”, Sydney pressed on.
“More like lovers.”, you clarified, your heart pondering hard against your chest.
The blonde sheepishly smiled at you: “Can I kiss you?”
A nod of the head was enough to make her do exactly what she had asked. The lights of the fireworks outside and the one inside you caused by the kiss rang in the new year.
“Happy New Year.”, you heard Georgia yelling.
The two of you were in your own world. “Y/n, Happy New Year.”, Sydney whispered into your ear, giving you chills all over your body before kissing you again.
“Oh my God, Klara, get the champagne out”’, Laura first spotted you two, her voice filled with excitement.
A loud laughter escaped the younger forward’s lips: “Laura, the champagne is already out.”
“Yes, but now we’ve to celebrate Sydney’s confession.”, the Frankfurt player explained smirking.
Sydney tried to sound nonchalantly:” Girls, it’s not a big deal.”
“Yes, please ignore us so we can go back to kissing.”, you added with a mischievous smile.
Klara observed delighted about what just has happened: “Great start into the New Year.”
“We agree.”, Sydney and you said at the same time, each of you erupting into a warm laughter as the sparklers were lit mirroring the lightness you felt when your lips touched hers.

Who will win? // Merle Frohms
Tumblr media
a/n: based off this request!
"Hi" the voice of your girlfriend came whispered through the phone.
"Hey" you mumbled in responds, eyes already heavy after the exhausting day you’ve had. For awhile, no words were exchanged, only soft breathing could be heard. Merle was the one who broke the silence, her voice shaky, "will we be okay?" she asked, fearing your answer.
Tomorrow, Arsenal would face Wolfsburg in a sold out Emirates Stadium - a match that would decide which team would make it to the Champions League final as it was 2-2 on aggregate.
In an instant, you replied, "yes, of course."
Your mind had also been consumed by that thought. Would Merle be mad at you if you won? No matter who wins, what consequences will be there? What if you loose?
"Promise me?"
"I promise"
"Okay" she sighed in relief, "I love you" your cheeks turned hot, her words so full of honesty as the butterflies in your stomach went crazy.
"I love you too" you replied sheepishly, suddenly wide awake.
The keeper and you had met through mutual friends on a holiday trip, your chemistry magical since the very first moment. Yet at first, Merle was shy and reserved towards you, you were the only one she didn‘t know - well, she did know you as you were one of Arsenals greatest defenders but she didn’t know know you yet but that side was gone not even two hours later, the two of you engaged in conversation after conversation. It seemed like your friends weren‘t existing anymore as Merle only had eyes for you and vice versa.
After your trip, Merle couldn’t stop thinking about you, so she texted you, wanting to know if you arrived in London safely. It was just an excuse, although she actually wanted to know if you made it some safely, only she was hoping for another conversation with you in return - maybe one that didn‘t stop. Her prayers had been heard - you started texting nonstop. Soon texts started to turn into calls and your 'friendship' blossomed.
In the winter holidays, you visited Merle, the moment your friendship turned into more as she had kissed you under the mistletoe.
Now, two years later, your relationship was going strong.
-
The two of you continued the phone call for a bit before yet another yawn let your mouth, "my love, it‘s getting late. I‘ll see you tomorrow" the german whispered.
You hummed, eyes already shut as you heard the final "I love you" of the night. With that you drifted off to sleep, thinking about the blonde.
The next day rolled by earlier than you wanted to. You were excited, the emirates was sold out, playing an important match on home soil - you couldn’t be more excited yet you were so scared. What would happen? Your mind was not only occupied with the question what happens between Merle and you but will someone get injured? You feared that every time you stepped on the pitch.
You didn‘t see your girlfriend until the lineups in the tunnel, the girl looking good in her kit.
You shot her a quick smile which she returned with a nod - when Merle was in her game mode, in the zone, nobody could distract her. This match was just as important to her as it was to you. Nobody was allowed to make a mistake otherwise you might loose.
-
Stina opened the score in the 11‘, Jill equalizing in the 41‘ - your former teammate. You knew it was her job to score when she had the opportunity but you weren’t going to lie, it hurt when she did. But also, you were incredibly proud of her - she was your friend after all.
Despite Arsenal and Wolfsburgs chances and effort, the half time score stayed 1-1.
Though that changed when VfL had a corner kick - the one and only Alexandra Popp scoring a header, as usually.
2-1.
You felt frustrated, blaming yourself - should you have been at her side? When you felt a double clap on your back, you were called back to reality. No one was to blame. Popp was an incredible player.
You prayed for an equalizer.
And as if your prayers have been heard, Jen scored with a beauty of a header.
The game continued, Wolfsburgs had their chances as Arsenal had them too. But nothing seemed to work.
After 90+ minutes, the ref blew the whistle.
The score 2-2.
which only meant one thing.
Extra time.
Your nerves were on a high race. What will happen in that extra time? What will not happen? Will there be penalties?
You were, after Kim, the person who took the penalty. Your penalties were always perfectly shot, they always slotted in the goal - the goalie nowhere near. Yet if you had to take a penalty in this game, it would be different.
Merle was in the goal.
Your girlfriend.
The one person who knew you better than anyone.
Huddling together, Jonas gave some strict orders - how to play, how to create space and chances. This wasn’t any club, this was Wolfsburg and they were one of the best german teams - if not the best. You had to be focussed and give 101%.
No mistakes were allowed.
-
You did the biggest mistake.
The teams dream of making it to the final, possibly winning it, was thrown in the bin when Manu passed the ball to you. You don’t know what happened, one second you had the ball and in the next second Jule Brand had it. Despite your effort to get it back, you knew it was too late as she assisted it to Pauline Bremer who slotted it in. Your world seemed to stop spinning.
3-2 in the 119‘
You embarrassed yourself in front of a recorded crowd and because of you the team was about to loose.
-
Nothing mattered anymore.
Arsenal lost.
They lost because you made a mistake - a mistake that decided the game.
Wolfsburg would go to the final in Eindhoven, Arsenal would stay at home. Tears slipped out of your eyes as you covered it up with your jersey while you stood in the middle of the pitch, devastated about the massive loss. Everything fell to deaf ears as you were stuck in your anger and disappointment. You ignored everybody who had approached you until you heard a familiar voice, the voice you loved so deeply.
"Hey" she said.
You didn’t reply.
"You played great" she kept her distance, not knowing if you wanted her to hug you or to leave you alone. She respected either way.
"You‘re glad I fucked up, hm? Secretly, laughing at me"
It took Merle off guard, "what? What are you talking about?" her eyes were wide, brows furrowed.
Indeed, she was happy that her team won but she felt devastated for you, not only because of the loss in general but that you caused it. It will haunt you for a while.
"Oh, don’t act all innocent now! You cannot tell me you didn’t like it, can you? My mistake, Pauline scoring the winning goal… Merle Maschine Frohms, you‘re going to the final. Congratulations" you told her bittersweetly, patting her shoulder before walking away.
The goalkeeper could only watch. Normally, 'Merle Maschine Frohms' was a running gag between the two of you but now it seemed like it was an insult.
"Didn’t go well, I assume?"
-
After the team talk, you fled the scene. You didn’t want to be here anymore. Your expression was stone cold as your jaw was clenched. You went for a quick shower, you couldn’t be bothered to take your time, all you wanted was to go home and watch your comfort movie while eating chocolate or ice cream.
Leaving the stadium felt like a relief, anger and frustration slowly leaving your body as guilt, blame and disappointment made its way up.
You knew what you said to Merle was wrong and that she most likely felt bad for you as you had talked many many times about situations like these - not knowing they would ever happen again.
After the euros final, the topics about winning and losing have been brought up and talked through, even though nervousness and anxiety filled both of your bodies nights before those matches.
You didn’t mean to snap at her, your anger just had controlled your body and not your mind.
And right now, you couldn’t see that. All you could see and feel was disappointment.
You disappointed yourself.
You disappointed your team.
You disappointed every fan in the stadium.
You disappointed everybody.
-
You fell asleep on the couch, eyes puffy, ice cream melted in the bowl as weird tv shows played. Messages from your family and teammates on your phone - no message from Merle. You felt even more disappointed yet understood due to the circumstances.
She didn’t text you nor did you text her. You didn’t know if you should or even wanted to or if she wanted you to.
The days after the match went by awfully slow and very robotic. For your teammates, it seemed like you didn’t realize the loss yet somehow like you realized the loss too much.
But after a week, when the feeling of missing started to hit, disappointment and guilt fading away step by step, you decided to call Merle. You wanted to make things right. It was Merle after all, the girl: who loved you unconditionally, who kissed your wounds, who believed in you when you couldn’t believe in yourself.
You waited and waited and waited for her to answer until it eventually rang out, she didn’t want to talk to you. Sighing in defeat, you flopped on the couch.
Merle🪄
please call me back
She never responded.
It wasn‘t that she didn’t read it - she did, right after it was sent - yet couldn’t be bothered to answer.
Was this the end?
You checked her instagram - were the pictures with you still up?
They were.
Every time your screen lit up you hoped it would be Merle and each time you got disappointed when you saw that it wasn’t her. What was happening? Why did you have to snap at her?
-
It was two days later when Merle finally decided to call you back. It was in the middle of the night, you were at the verge of falling asleep.
Groggily, you picked up the phone, not even looking at the caller id.
"Hello?"
"Hey"
"Merle" your breath hitched, suddenly wide awake. Nothing mattered anymore, it didn’t matter that it was in the middle of the night or that you had training early in the morning. All you cared about was saving your relationship.
Silence held the line until a small whisper came, "you‘ve hurt me-"
"I know"
"Well, you didn’t insult me but I don’t know, snapping at me? I just wanted to comfort you. You promised me-"
"I promised you we would be okay"
"And we are not"
"I want us to be"
The silence that followed was deafening, you felt like this was the moment.
She will break up with me
"Merle?"
silence.
"I‘m sorry, I really am. I didn’t mean to snap at you, everything just came crashing down on me and I know this is no excuse. I was just- I don’t- I’m sorry"
silence.
"I love you"
You had already lost hope before "I love you too" came. "I don’t know why I got so upset at you, I had no right to, you had lost and I understood your emotions, but all I wanted was to comfort you. I‘m sorry that I didn’t give you some space or respected your boundaries. I want us to be okay, too, I really do."
"You do?" you asked surprised.
"Of course, I’m so in love with you, you can’t even imagine"
The biggest smile started to make its way on your face, cheeks flushing red, skin tingle.
"I‘ve missed you"
"I missed you so much"
All the built up feelings from the last week, washed away. There was no guilt or anger due to your mistake in the match, there was no sadness and sulking anymore - all there was, was love and happiness.
The two of you started one of your endless conversations, updating what had happened the last days or upcoming events - Merle purposely avoiding the uwcl final. She wanted you there more than anything but now wasn‘t the right time to bring it up.
The next weeks went by fast, you were back to your usual persona, socializing and cracking jokes as you slowly but surely learned to accept that mistakes happen.
Only one and a half weeks left before the final, the goalkeeper decided to bring it up because she really wanted to see you in the stands as her supporter.
Not thinking about her words, she blurted it out while you were in the middle of your sentence, "i want you to be at the final" she said, the kitchen in her flat suddenly super interesting. What felt like an eternity for her was in fact only a few seconds, your answer so supportive and loving, "yes, of course. Leah, Lia and I already have tickets and our flights are booked"
Your girlfriend stayed silent for a moment, "I was afraid you didn’t want to come" she admitted, cheeks turning red out of embarrassment.
"What? Why? I always want to see you play!" you beamed, "you’re in the champions league final, baby!" You pushed the little sting in your heart away, fully focused on Merle. If you couldn’t win the trophy, none other than your girlfriend should win it. You were her number one fan. So, as soon as things were made up with her - you weren’t sure if she wanted you there when things were complicated between the two of you - you texted in the group chat with Leah and Lia that you‘d join them.
"I thought maybe- I don’t know"
"No, baby. I always want to watch you play, always. And I’m so proud of you, you will win that trophy" you exclaimed, your index finger subconsciously drawing hearts on the couch.
"I love you"
The goalkeeper felt so relieved. With you being in the stands there couldn’t go anything wrong. She would not only try to win that trophy but to impress you.
-
"Stop being so jittery" the England captain stated as she rested her hand firmly on your knee to stop it from wobbling.
Already on the way to the stadium you couldn’t shut up about seeing Merle and her team, the atmosphere, FC Barcelona and so on. Somehow you were starstruck and so excited.
"Look! There’s Merle!" you cut the LW‘s off in their conversation, tapping Lia‘s thigh rapidly.
"Yes, we can see her" she chuckled, your eyes shining with hearts. "Isn’t she so pretty" you admired. She looked so stunning in her kit. "You‘re drooling" Leah chipped in, laughing at you when your hand flew to your mouth, checking if there was drool - there wasn‘t.
-
"LET‘S GO!!!" you yelled when Ewa Pajor scored the opening goal in the 3rd minute. Green shirts everywhere in the stadium, cheering for their team as they went in the lead. Lia and Leah watched you with an amused look while they held their facial expressions neutral about the game.
"YES!!!" you cheered even louder when the second goal came flying in from Alex Popp - that women an absolute legend with her incredible headers.
The first half Wolfsburg played phenomenally as they created chances, defended and got two goals.
Yet when the second half started everything went downhill. About 5 minutes into the game Patri equalized. The stadium started to roar, the Wolfsburg players looking helpless.
Though, you had to admit that it was brilliantly played from Barcelona, even though you felt bad for Merle as she conceded two goals within two minutes.
Every minute that went by from then on, the game got more intense and physically. Fouls and cards were called out, every player on the pitch wanting to win.
When Rolfö scored in the 70th, you slumped back in your chair, grumbling about the game. How was Merle supposed to save that? She stood no chance!
You had a feeling that it was the last goal you would see off the game. And it was confirmed around 30+ mins later when the referee blew her whistle.
Devastated, you watched as the players in green collapsed on the floor, all of them crying or at least with tears in their eyes yet your eyes glued on the goalkeeper in blue. She must feel horrible - a feeling you knew better than anyone.
In all honesty, Merle wasn‘t to blame for the loss and neither were her teammates - their performance was great, just not enough in the end.
Like in trance, the german international made her way over to you - she needed your comfort. She needed your hugs, your touch and your love. She just needed you.
"Hey" she mumbled as she stood in front of you, her teammates also near her as you sat in the family and friends section.
"Come here" you opened your arms, the girl hugging you as if her life deepened on it, sobbing in the crook of your neck. You hand cradled her head while the other one rubbed her back in a calming and gentle manner. "I‘m proud of you" you whispered, sweetly kissing her temple before you let cry as long as she needed in your shoulder.
After sweet nothings and a long hug, she stepped back, looking at you with doe eyes, "i‘m sorry I couldn’t win."
Your hands cupped her cheeks as your thumbs wiped away the tears, "I love you" you couldn’t say anything else, it would have been wrong to say 'you played great' even though she was blaming herself for the loss right now. Instead you stood on your tip toes, pressing your lips against her left cheek, then right cheek before finally her mouth which resulted in a little smile. It was a kiss so gentle and tender, healing and caring, loving and promising. But most importantly - it was your kiss.
So, in the end, sadly, neither of you won the trophy but the comfort you had in each other seemed like a win in a loss.

pairing: alexia putellas x anneliese hoffmann (oc)
summary: your relationship with a certain blonde captain is complicated especially since all you can do is think about her but every time you try to move forward with her something always pulls you back.
a/n: orange coloured text mean that is german, blue coloured text means that its dutch and red coloured text means spanish. i hate writing games so it will probably be written horribly. the end isn't written the best as i didn't really know how to finish it and sometimes it’s hard to write exactly how you want it to turn out also if there’s any spelling mistakes i’m sorry but enjoy

Tumblr media
playing at barcelona had been a dream of yours since you were a kid despite growing up germany to a german mum and a dutch dad. you immediately fell in love with the club ever since he introduced you to the club at a young age and you always flew out to see them play when you can.
just before the world cup the club had contacted you telling you that they wanted your and before they finished the sentence you blurted out a yes. saying yes was even easier when you knew caroline, ingrid and fridolina from wolfsburg.
despite germany’s early elimination which shocked not only the team but the world especially since we were in the euros final. but watching the rest of the tournament was a learning experience and time to learn your new teammates way of play.
though it was hard to leave wolfsburg as you’ve been there for as long as you could remember. slowly making your way to the first team but barcelona was the right challenge you needed. with your arrival at barcelona the wolfsburg girl’s immediately took you under their wing.
after being at barcelona for a couple of months of being there you fell in love with the atmosphere. being able to play with the worlds best alexia with some other players who were worthy of it. you learned so much.
apart from the girls from wolfsburg you got along with esmee the most as the both of you are dutch. the rest of the team you got along with easily but your friendship with alexia was weird. the two of you got along but it was awkward at least in your eyes.
today was the day barcelona were gonna play eintracht frankfurt in germany and you were over the moon. to be able to speak german again and be at home. but more importantly to see national teammates but especially laura.
the both of you made it through germany’s youth together to the first team she reminded you of your sister that’s why the two of you first bonded.
the four old wolfsburg girl’s walked out one the pitch talking about all the fun the lot of you had on germany. your eyes grazed the field in hopes of finding the familiar blonde you knew. once they did you ran to the girl jumping on her back which caused her to nearly fall.
“anne, missed me?” laura said with a joking tone and placing you down on the grass “of course we don’t even live in the same country anymore”
she looked at you talking in your appearance “how’s spain been treating you? you’ve even got a tan” you went on blabbering about the spanish life and how everything was perfect until alexia called you over telling you it was time to prep for the match “see you soon” pulling the girl in a long hug before making you way back.
“you know you shouldn’t be fraternising with the enemy afterwards sure but before no” alexia told you in her caption voice before walking away.
★★★★★
you told the team how they played just before the lot of you went on the pitch as you knew how the team plays. but despite that the team let a goal slip by none other than laura. over the years whenever the two of you played each other and one of you scored the other did shortly after.
thought that didn’t happen in the first half it happens it soon happened shortly after the second half started. when they were given a free kick which you decided to take and went it. which seemed to fill the team with more energy as as two more goal came from mariona in the fiftieth minute and salma in the sixty seventh.
once the final whistle was blown you went around congratulating the players and spending extra time with your national teammates.
“you just had to score the first goal didn’t you” teasing the girl seeing as your team won in the end “and you just can’t keep copying me. i score and then you score some may say you’re obsessed with me” laughing at her comment and pushing her shoulder away.
“well you know what they say look up to your elders—” laura was about to retaliate when a blonde girl came and placed a hand on your lower back causing you to jump slightly at the placement.
alexia was out for a little bit as her knee was causing her irritation but she could still travel with the team if she wanted to “great goal by the way. i’m happy it’s with us not against us” her eyes looked directly at you forgetting that laura was there completely before walking off to mapi before you could respond. your eyes followed her before looking back at your friend.
your best friend looked at you knowingly "what?” questioning her gaze on you, but she stayed quite “laura what? i don’t like when you look at me like that”
“you like her” her theory caused your eyes to widen while trying to come up with something. Which caused her to think her to think her theory was right “no i don’t i just think that she’s pretty and talented”
“sure”
“well esmee’s calling me so i got to go” pointing at the girl on the other side of the pitch who wasn’t even looking in your direction “byeee” running to the dutch girl as fast as you could.
“you can’t run away from this” the german girl shouted across the pitch.
★★★★★
it was now christmas break and the girls were hanging out before they all went away doing their own thing for christmas. they all had family to go home to but you couldn’t it would be too much.
when you were little you used to love christmas spending time with your parents and sister. the snow the music and the markets in town. it was also conveniently when your birthday was the day before christmas.
but then the whole thing with your sister happened making you hate your birthday and christmas.
hearing all the plans the girl has made you sad. ingrid and mapi going to norway to experience a scandinavian christmas with snow and then coming back to spend time with mapi’s family.
esmee going back to the netherlands to be with her family.
fridolina going home to sweden to spend time with her boyfriend.
the whole team talked about the plans they had this christmas. you sat there quietly listening but barely taking in the words that were being spoken. how they’d spend time with family their parents, brothers, sister.
sister
SISTER
SISTER
“anneliese, you got any special plans this christmas?” you started at the cup of tea in your hands before alexia nudged your shoulder tapping you out of your thoughts.
smiling “nope I’m staying here by myself just need some time away from home”
“alone for christmas” salma said with a sad smile at the thought of her teammate being alone on a day meant to be spent with family and your loved ones.
all the girls who were staying in spain offered to let you stay with them all except one alexia who sat there quietly while you kindly declined the girls despite their persistence.
the night ended soon after with you laying in your bed scrolling through your phone when a message appeared.
alexia
no one shouldn’t be alone on christmas
spend it with me and my family
anneliese
as kind as that is i don’t want to intrude
plus i’m fine being on my own
alexia
i won’t have it
join me and my family on christmas eve at least
anneliese
your not gonna take no for an answer are you
alexia
nope
anneliese
fine but only cause your so persistent
alexia
great can’t wait to see you
so there you were sat with alexia’s family as light chatter filled the room. you admired what they had, her close relationship with all her family.
her mum welcomed you as of you were her own, hugging you immediately when went through the door. completely forgetting about her daughter.
you’d forgotten what it was like to be with family on holidays you rarely were.
you and alexia weren’t even that close, not like you were with ingrid, frido and caro. so for the the catalan girl to ask you to spend christmas eve with her family it caught you off guard.
why?
the two of you never spent time outside of of football unless it was team bonding night other than that the two of you were basically strangers.
after being dragged away by alba who talked about anything and everything from her job to saying that the two of you should meet up for dinner one day. as she said and i quote ‘no wonder alexia been hiding you from me she’d know that we’d immediately get along. we have to grab dinner some time’
“i’m going to borrow her for a second” alexia said to her sister and pulled you along with her to the garden “thought you’d want a breather, i know how my sister can be”
she brought you out to the garden area which had a nice outdoor sofa facing the sunset that was currently happening. flowers covering every corner of it making the scene in front of your eyes look like one that should be in a museum.
looking at the girl “no honestly it’s fine she’s so kind we actual lot have planes to get dinner soon” a shocked look was on the girls face “i admire the relationship you have with your sister it’s so pure and cute” it got you thinking about your sister and your relationship with her the two of you should of been like them but instead you weren’t.
“you have any siblings?” the question wasn’t even a hurtful one but it did it cute deep and she didn’t know no one did except for your family “yeah a twin sister actually. we used to be like exactly like you and alba” smiling fondly at the memory.
“if you don’t mind me asking why aren’t you?”
“we just don’t talk anymore” a sad smile painted on your face which alexia took as a sign to drop the topic “well i’m glad you decided to join me today” placing a hand on your shoulder.
“well you were very persistent and i can’t exactly say no to my captain”
she laughed at your comment, you hadn’t been this close to alexia ever and you’ve never really appreciated her beauty. her hazel eyes, her blonde hair which was glowing due to the sun behind her, the dimple that appeared when she smiled.
“you’re so pretty” the words blurted out before you could stop them from coming out, covering your mouth in shock and staring directly at the girl who’s smile seemed to get bigger.
the blonde girl moved closer to you so that your legs were touching “thank you so are you” complimenting you back with a slight giggle.
you saw her eyes flicking between your eye’s and lips whilst yours did the same. the two of you slowly got closer to each other to the point where you could feel her breath on you. just one of you had to move forward and your lips would be touching and alexia was the one to do so.
“anne you didn’t tell me it was your birthday” alba walked through the door just as you’re lips were about to touch. you looked at alexia and saw as her faces fulfilled with shock? hurt? sadness? over the fact you didn’t tell her.
“yeah i guess how’d you know?”
alba waved your phone in the air “well your phone kept ringing so i was going to check who it was and then they sent a happy birthday message so i put it together”
walking to alba you grabbed your phone “well i’m going to call them back real quick” walking further in the garden.
alba walked and sat where you previously were “did you know it was her birthday and don’t think i didn’t see what was happening there you were about to kiss her” she gushed over the scene that was about to unfold in front of her, happy to see the girl happy and in love again “omg your really like her”
“alba” dragging out her name “i don’t know one second she was telling us she was spending christmas alone and then i invited her without even asking mum. and that not like me i like plans, a schedule. i don’t know what’s happening to me, we’re not even that close as you can tell cause i didn’t even know it was her birthday. i feel like shit cause i don’t have anything for her—”
“alexia it’s okay breathe. it’s okay to like her, i get it she’s nice easy to talk to. oh and you know mum called it the second the two of you walked through the doors” her eyes brightened when her sister said that, the thought of her mum liking you “really”
“yeah, so did i” the smile on her face only grew bigger
walking back to the sisters “just had to listen to my parents complain about how it took me too long to answer” attempting to joke as you could tell you not talking alexia about your birthday hurt her “i’ll leave you guy’s alone” alba touched your shoulder with a smile before walking back in “happy birthday”
“i’m sorry i didn’t tell you i wanted to but i don’t really celebrate it after everything with my sister. it just reminds me of her and i kind of just forgot so i’m so sorry—”
“— it’s fine if just wish i could of got you something and made this day more in your honour” holding your hand and rubbing her thumb on the top of your hand “honestly it’s the most fun i’ve had in forever”
it was true, as bad as it sounded you forget about your sister. for the first time in forever you forgot about the girl and had peace in your mind, you felt guilty but it felt nice.
“let’s go back in”
the german girl started to walk back inside “i actually do have a present for you” her hand grabbed yours spinning up around.
“how you just found out—” alexia’s lips met yours causing you to freeze in shock before reciprocating and wrapping your arms around her neck pulling her closer to you. pulling apart to catch a breath before pecking her lips two more times.
“you just kissed me?” your face full of shock by her public act in front of her family
“i did”
placing another kiss on your lips, never wanting to leave the moment “we should really go back inside” pulling away from the kiss.
the two of you went back inside with rosy cheeks. despite the kiss being in the open only alba and eli managed to see it. the only reason you knew that they saw was that alba was now jumping in excitement and eli was looking at you with an all knowing smile.
so hours later you found yourself having a few too many glasses of alcohol and you were giggling anything that was being said and clinging to the girl who complied putting your head underneath her’s. but with the alcohol you were in no shape to go back home.
"I can just sleep on the sofa" offering not wanting anyone to give up their bed for you.
eli shook her head at your idea "nonsense you and alexia can sleep in her room"
but before you could protest the two of you were pushed in the room. a scheme that was definitely orchestrated by the blonds sister, in hopes for the two of you to kiss again? confess 'feelings'? said feelings that you didn't even know what they meant. whether she had felt the same as you did? the whole situation confused you to much. being in a relationship was a bigger step for you than one might think.
cause of her
alexia's room was filled with her teenage brain pictures of her football idol's, some family photos mainly of her and her dad, old football gear, football trophies which helped make sense to all the awards she was getting now. though you had twenty nine year old alexia in front of you got to see all the younger versions of her.
the two of you laid in her old bed, you wearing one of her old football jersey paired with shorts.
your green eyes looked into her hazel ones as the two of you faced each other "I wish I could of made today more about you and overall more fun. instead you got a day with my family" pushing a piece of your hair behind you ear the main reason being so she could touch you.
be closer to you
"seeing your family be so happy honestly made this the best birthday I've had in years" a smile growing on the girl's face at the thought of you liking her family.
the hand stayed there stroking your face lightly the act so small but it had you feeling things. which got the german girl thinking as to if the girl in front of her had the same feeling. whether her actions were due to the alcohol the catalan girl had or so she could feel some sort of control in her life, she lost control on her leg causing her to be out with injury.
"goodnight, alex"
"goodnight, liese. happy birthday"
christmas eve ( your birthday ) was the first and last time the two of you kissed for a while.

the thought of being with the alexia scared you. ever since the two of you kissed on your birthday it was all you could think about. you wanted to be able to kiss her whenever you felt like.
but wherever you thought about telling the girl that you wanted to be in a relationship with her all thoughts linked back to her.
the distance between that you put between the two of you was something that alexia felt. the way that every time that two of you would bump into each other outside of work you’d walk the other way or you’d walk past her muttering an excuse as to why you couldn’t sit and chat whenever she tried.
at work the two girls would only talk if they absolutely had to. their conversations only about football never about that night months ago.
what hurt alexia more wasn’t that the fact that you weren’t talking to her, it was the fact that you still saw her sister and not like once since the last you guys met or whenever your calendars aligned. but it was like once a week, at this point her sister was seeing her situationship? the girl she liked? her teammate? yes her teammate, that was the best word to describe their relationship given that they don’t even talk in unless needed.
alexia wanted to talk to you, the way the two of you talked in her mum’s garden. the scene replayed in her head everyday since then replaying the way you looked at her, the way you looked with the sunset making you look like something straight out a painting, the kiss that quite literally captivated her. and it was silly because it was one kiss well maybe like five including the small ones.
the most words you spoke to her was when she returned back on the pitch after her surgery with you simply congratulating her on it and the goal that she scored. plus the words you spoke to her after a little celebratory night out the team had for her return but you couldn’t remember anything ( probably due to the alcohol ) but alexia did she remembered everything.
alba could confirm this, as without a doubt everyday her sister would complain about the situation. that night it seemed as if the of you would take a step further or atleast see what would come with your relationship.
she thought it would lead to a couple dates, heartfelt talks and a few more kisses.
instead she got no dates, the two of you only talking about football when forced forced, you avoiding her and no kisses.
upon the alba’s complaints about how often she would hear her complaints, the girl confided in mapi instead and mapi being mapi she couldn’t keep her mouth shut and told ingrid ( just her thankfully ) about everything.
today was already a big day for you before knowing that it was the champions league final. the last time you were in one despite scoring the two goal which caused wolfsburg to be in the lead, but during the second half barcelona managed to bounce back and score three more. in the end they won your feelings towards the loss then were weird you weren’t as sad as you should of been, maybe it was because you deserved it as she was meant to be her not you.
you stole her dream, the life she deserved to have.
and you losing that final was the price to had to pay.
you sat in your cubby as the dark haired norwegian girl sat next to you “anna, mapi told me something yesterday and i don’t think that i was meant to know but you know how mapi is she can’t keep a secret” turning to the girl in confusion “about you and alexia, you know you’re allowed to feel love? in my years of knowing you not once have you talked about a girl even if someone asked you out you’d decline”
no one knew your reasoning as to why you pushed alexia away “it’s just so much more to it” keeping your response short so you didn’t reveal too much “it makes sense now the looks alexia gave you. you spending christmas with her. all i’m saying is don’t be afraid to let go and let yourself feel their love for you”
“ingrid”
“okay, if we win you have to at least give it a go you might not see it but it’s hurting alexia more than you know. but if we lose i’ll let it go and i’ll make sure mapi doesn’t push anything. whatever or whoever is causing you to push alexia away isn’t worth you living your life not being in love and i really would be perfect alexia is mapi’s best friend and ur mine so we could go on double dates”
it was such a simple sentence bit it caused all the emotions that you were feeling to resurface. tears started to build up and fall “oh anne, it will work all out in the end” wiping your tears away and kissing your cheek, you looked over at the blonde who was in the far right corner only to see the girl already looking at you sending you a little smile which you returned.
“okay, now let win this” nodding at the norwegian.
hours later you and the rest of the starting eleven started to walk on the pitch alongside olympique lyonnais. your heart started to beat faster at everything what the day meant to you before it was named as the final for the champions league. you looked at the catalan girl who was at on the bench.
breath anneliese
and the second the whistle was blown you had to put all you emotions aside. the first half wasn't an easy one with both teams proving as to why they were both in the final. lyon had many attempts some of them from corners but thankfully cata was able to save them. we just happened to have the same luck with all of our attempts to be save or have them merely miss the goal.
then half time rolled by and after a motivational team talk given by alexia. the deadlock was broken by you with an assist from keira. the two of you were passing the ball back and forth between each other when you started to run forward to the left side of the net and kicked it into the top right corner.
cheers erupted through the stadium, your teammates running towards you and the subs jumping in joy. they were all looking at you but your eyes were on team captain.
this was the most you’ve looked at her since then. since that night. it was just a glance at each other but it meant so much more to the both of us
it wasn’t until the 90th minute that the alexia came on for keira, claps through the stadium at a club legend coming on.
she showed just why she’s is know as one of the worlds greats. as in the ninety sixth minute claudia kicked the ball towards alexia who finished it off.
you watched as the girl took of her shirts and spun it around ( much like what chloe kelly did in the euros final when she done the winning goal ). you watched as she bowed down to her people, she looked and you completely forgetting about the others around her you were what mattered most and you ran toward her jumping in her arms and holding her face
“you just had to go and show them why they call you la reina” she laughed at your words “i hate when people call me that”
“okay well, my star girl showing the world why she’s the best”
and less than a minute later the final whistle blew and the two of you ran to each other again hugging, the rest of them soon joining the two of you. you began to sob many thought it was due to winning but it wasn’t it was cause of her.
ingrid’s words changed the way you looked at the situation, that maybe she’d would want you to be happy to find love again.
for years you thought that every big game that you lost was due to her, your sister. maybe you winning this game was her telling you that you could forgive yourself. that it wasn’t your fault.
the stadium was now close to empty all the family members and friends on the pitch.
you were gonna tell her.
now or never.
“alex, erm i’m so sorry for the way i’ve treated you pushing you away. only thinking of myself—”
“liese—”
“no please don’t interrupt me or i won’t say it. for years i thought that it was my fault. genny my twin was the one that loved football not me, i only went cause she did. then she got sick and i wanted to quit but she made me continue but she kept getting worse nothing was working the chemo barley did anything then one day she— she just died. i felt like i stole her life. i’m living the one she always wanted to live and i never even wanted it. i thought that every game i lost was punishment, for stealing her life. but today winning this game i think was her way of telling me that it was okay and that i can forgive myself. that i can let myself be loved and feel love. ingrid said that if we win this game i should tell you how i feel and alex i— the first day that we spent together just us was the day i realised that i loved you. the way you are with your family, how much people look up to you, how your simple show. i love everything about you—”
your words stoped the second she placed her hands in your cheeks “liese, i’m so sorry that you’ve been through all that but don’t think for a second that it was your fault that she died okay or that you deserve to the dead one okay. the world works in cruel ways and losing innocent loved ones is part of it unfortunately. i’m glad that you’ve realised it’s not your fault”
for once you didn’t care about anything only the girl in front of you.
the pair of you stayed together till you both spotted you family and went your separate ways. they went on about how proud they are of you, how proud she would be of you. the three of you were talking till your mum spotted ingrid’s mum and went to the norwegian who she grew a friendship with when you played in germany.
you spotted alba who was talking to her sister and you ran to the girl hugging her “i’m so proud of you” the girl whispered happy to see a genuine smile on your face “i see you and my sister have sorted things out” you nodded “good cause i can’t listen to her complaining about you none more” the words cause alexia too hot the girl in the head “hey that was between us”
smiling at alexia your alex “hate to break it to you but i already knew. you told mapi and then mapi told ingrid who had a little talk with me today” she swore under her breath about her best friend
“plus mums gonna be so happy that you found love” the girl blushed looking at you and gently pulling you in her arms “yeah i guess i have”

you and alexia your girlfriend. if that’s what the two of you were. you guys done stuff that couple did, like going on dates, staying at each others place ( meaning you being at her's all the time ) , visiting her family. the two of you were basically a couple but neither one of you have fully asked the other to be their girlfriend.
this summer before the olympics the two of you explored more of barcelona together alexia showing you her home in between games. but for the time off the two of you had before both of you were off to national duty.
you showed her your homes, the first time you've ever done so to somebody you loved. you showed her germany some of your favourite places, some of your sisters favourite places growing up. it was such a small thing but it was so intimate to you, and alex knew that. you opening up about you're sister was such a big act no one really knew about her the fan's didn't only close friend's and family.
you showed her the netherlands the place your family moved after your sister. you're parents had gone away on holiday so that allowed you and alex to stay there.
the two girls were currently out for dinner at a nice restaurant which you went to a lot as a kid. it was a big place with seats in a garden filled with many flowers and plants.
"im happy that you wanted to give this a try” her hand moving a piece of your hair away. she could get used to this you sat beside her, going on little dates, the two of you “i'm happy i did too, so tomorrow i’m thinking maybe we could go to that breakfast place the one me and my family used to—”
“—be me girlfriend?” your sentence halted in shock of the catalans words. they caught the both you you by surprise “i had this whole plan to do it tomorrow after going out to dinner and then a walk through the park but i can’t wait i’ve wanted you to be my girlfriend since we kissed and it’s all i can think about since you said you wanted to give this a try”
“— yeah i’ll be you’re girlfriend” placing a soft kiss on the girls lips. it was different since their last, it held so much more emotion. it was raw and truly showed how you felt for each other. the thought of being someone's girlfriend used to scare to it due until a month ago where that fear turned into excitement. you were waiting till you would be able to call alex your girlfriend.

the olympics went neither of the girls way their first games went good germany winning 3-0 to australia and spain winning 2-1 to japan. germany was missing some key players like lena who tore her acl and mcl in a match that didn’t even matter as we had already qualified for the upcoming euros.
we were fine against canada which went to penalties which was 4-2 to us and funnily enough so pain went into penalties as well with a 4-2 win over colombia. then we played usa which seemed to be a problem for us even in the group stages which was a 1-0 win to them.
but for spain it went horrible. they just weren’t playing like they normally do, making silly mistakes which allowed brazil to take advantage of it. alexia wasn’t playing for the majority of the game till the 77th minute, and that was when the team started to play better but despite their sudden elevated energy ( which you said was due to alexia being on the pitch ) it wasn’t enough they still lost.
you were playing spain.
you were playing alexia.
obviously you had thought about having to play alexia but you didn’t think it would happen. the both of you had been dreading the game, it wasn’t just her you were playing a lot of the team played for barcelona.
the both of you starting.
but despite the two of you playing you swore to each other that you wouldn’t let what you feel stop from fully committing to the game.
when the two of you were on the pitch you didn’t know each other in fact the couple decided that they were to hate each other on the pitch.
and they done exactly that.
the second that whistle was blown you both had an aim and that was to get that bronze medal. germany’s motivation was to do this for obi and spains was to prove exactly why they’re the worlds best.
the first half was tough you didn’t really have any chances but spain, they were eager to get a medal and they had chances most hitting the crossbar out just being slightly off target. your defence wasn’t the best in the first half cutting it to close making these chances for spain and you were lucky that none went in the back of the net.
the second half was where the action started ( specifically the sixty fourth minute) to happen it was germanys chance. you were just past the half way mark where you saw gulia in the perfect position so you kicked the ball over to her.
the only person in front of her was cata who pushed gulia to move her from the ball which resulted in the referee giving a penalty immediately.
and you were gonna take it.
maybe it was because you knew how cata played but it still was hard. you always hated playing against your teammates even in friendlies but especially it important games like this one.
you watched spains last penalty shoot out against colombia and they were good. you saw how she played her tells.
you walked up to your spot and you could feel her eyes on you, and off you looked back at her you wouldn’t be able look to fully it would throw you off your game. but like the both of you agreed to use the your love as motivation to beat the other
taking a deep breath. your heard the whistle blow an ran towards the ball putting it in the bottom right corner while me cata went to left. running to where obi was and pointing at her so she knew that all this was for her. you turned around to hug lea who all ready had her hands open for you.
but that goal didn’t mean that germany would win the game can turn around in seconds and spain were known for doing that in the euro qualifiers and in the olympics.
if anything that goal lit a spark in the team more fouls were committed you and alexia committing some on each other.
jenni was a problem she wanted to make this level and get her name on the score sheet, a cross from olga to the center of the box right where jenni was headed toward the girl and luckly ann was there and saved another attempt from her.
and they kept coming spain these opportunities from spain but ann was always there to clean up our mistakes proving just how good she was.
the fully ninety + the seven was done all we had to do was make sure that we didn’t make any mistakes until you did resulting in a penalty to spain you and your teammates were convinced that you barley touched her and that she fell down dramatically as she was in the penalty area and knew that they could get a pently out of it.
you could be the reason that germany lose and as if it was some silly joke alexia was taking it for spain.
your alex.
against berger.
your feeling were conflicted even though you promised her you wouldn’t be. of course you wanted the best for alexia but you wanted, no needed your team to win not just for yourself but for obi for horst for your sister.
the situation was cruel but it was the game.
you were stood next to aitana ready to kick the ball away if it gets blocked and came back to the girls in red. you watch as you’re girlfriend, no alexia kicked the ball in the same direction as you did but this time it being saved.
your ran towards ann to hug her as a thanks for cleaning up your mistakes. surely this was the last action of the game and it was as less than a minute later the whistle was blown.
germany won.
the whole team ran to ann as she was the while reason that we won with all her amazing saves. but while you were all huddled up you saw a alexia was being comforted her teammates and you couldn’t help but feel guilty. but that was the game no matter how great the player is it’s a group sport.
after some time of talking to obi she was like your’s and lea’s child you were her wolfsburg mum and lea was a bayern mum well that was what the fans had been saying. alexia was finally alone sat down waiting for you, you slowly made your way and sat next to her.
the both of you sat silent till alexia broke the silence “i’m happy for you, you deserve it more than anyone i know” she finally looked at you with her hazel eyes, those eyes that you grew to love looking at “i don’t want you to think that you can’t celebrate or be happy around me”
putting her face in your hands, you knew the look that she had on her face. she blamed herself for spain’s loss “alex, it not your fault and no one’s looking at you differently for missing that penalty. you guys had ninety minutes before hand to put a goal in that net okay. you don’t see anyone else blaming themselves as much as you are, they all had chances. so don’t think for a second that missing that penalty erases the ballon d’ors and all the other award that you got. it’s a group sport and as hard as it sound every team needs to lose from time to time it helps show that no matter where your team is ranked you got to make sure you continue to work for it. in the end this will all work out for the better”
you watched as a smile began to rise on the girl’s face “thank you. i really needed that but seriously you were the better team and you played brilliantly today my star girl” repeating the same words you said to her in the champions league final. the day the two of you gave this a go.
the both of you sat there in each other shirts chatting about what you were gonna do what you were back in barcelona, back in her flat which is basically theirs with how often the german girl was sleeping over at alex’s.
no matter the result of a game their love for each other was bigger than what ever happens between them on the pitch. in the end the both of them knew they found the one. whether it was in english, spanish, catalan, german or dutch they knew that in every language that they spoke that they loved each other.
