I don’t often share where my inspiration comes from.. Especially when it comes from another artist’s work.. But I was reading a quote by @qinniart today that inspired me to share this one.

She said “In terms of creativity, I personally believe there’s no such thing as an absolutely original idea […] Nothing is original, but it’s how you spin an idea that makes it stand out.”

It was her drawing (on the left) that sparked the idea for my Galaxy Dreamer painting (on the right.)

I often feel guilty for using others’ art as inspiration but isn’t that the point of art.. To inspire us. To make us feel something that leads to an idea or gives us an idea to help us express something of our own? I think Qinni was right.. That’s how creativity works. “Trying to absorb as much as possible can really help your brain start pumping out stuff.”
