a fake dnd party devot and i made, as in they're dnd-setting characters but there's no associated game, lmao. there's surely a group of four playing them somewhere.
Princess Wilhelmina Human Paladin
At a camping trip with his father, the king, Wilhelm finally revealed his greatest secret: he's always wanted to be a boy. His father was supportive; after losing Wil's mother, all he's ever wanted was to make his child happy. Unfortunately, the happy moment was cut short by a shapeshifter crashing the scene and murdering the king. Wil just barely escaped with his life, but when he arrived back at the kingdom, he found the people all too willing to peg him for his father's death. He has to prove his innocence...
At least this is as good an excuse as any to "disguise" himself as a man.
Kairos Tiefling Rogue
In the kingdom's backstreets, its lowest levels and seediest underbelly, Kairos gives the people hope. He's a prolific thief with no fear of the nobility, seeking to make the lives of his peers easier in any way he can. Unfortunately, misfortune befalls him when he runs his mouth about a recent job where he and his cohorts stole directly from the king... He didn't realize the pretty boy he was talking to at the tavern had a striking similarity to the princess. Not until the guards found him with her in tow, a smug smirk on her lips.
The princess seeks his aid before his execution date comes, promising his release if he'll help her track a shapeshifter she heard him talking about last they met. Then she blows up on him for using the wrong words for her. Oh, oops. He's actually a prince. Kairos can adjust.
Vierna Drow Ranger
Vierna has no love for anyone, or so she says. She takes money and directs her arrows where she's told to; everything she does is in pursuit of her own goals, and whatever doesn't directly benefit her is just a job. Why has she been lingering in the backstreets all these years when the poor can hardly afford her services? Well... that annoying Tiefling who commands everyone's attention might be the closest thing to a little brother she's ever had. Don't tell anybody. (Especially not Kairos himself.) Sure, she'll help out if he asks. Don't ask why; she hates to have her motives questioned.
So when Kairos arrives with royalty in tow, asking for her assistance, well... She may as well. He'll get himself killed without her. (She adjusts to the prince's gender faster than he did, but she does have a habit of calling Wil "lady-boy".)
Nels Half-Elf Sorcerer
Nels is a nobody, and he likes it that way. He practices magic in one of the kingdom's smaller villages, stays out of everyone's way, and tries to ignore how real elves look at him. They've always looked down their noses at him. It's fine! He knows who he is. Maybe. His life is turned upside down when a dragon attacks his village, though, and in a panic he rushes to the kingdom proper to seek aid. Miraculously, he runs into the princess as she's leaving the kingdom! When he addresses her, asking for help with a monster, she grabs him with an iron grip and drags him along, and only then does he see her bizarre company...
Oh, right, sorry, prince. Nels didn't mean any harm. He tells the group what he can about the dragon, and they decide to help on their way to track the shapeshifter. Nels... gets roped into this, somehow. And then the dragon winds up being the shapeshifter, and he gets away, and now Nels might be the party's permanent mage. Ah, rats. Their ranger keeps giving him dirty looks...

some new guys, because devot wanted d&d ocs without the game part. prince wilhelm (formerly princess wilhelmina) and kairos, the infamous rogue. wil hardly wants to travel with a tiefling criminal, but unfortunately kairos is his best shot at clearing his name, because the whole kingdom thinks wil killed his father and kairos knows the guy who actually did.
