Attribution: Feodor Stepanovich "Rojan" Rojankovsky. Snippet from Scaf le Phoque [Scaf the seal ]. Story by Lída aka Ludmila Durdikova (b. Prague, Czechia, 1899-1955, later France) with illustrations by Rojankovsky (b. Russian empire, later France and USA, 1891-1970). The book was originally published by @flammarion in Paris in 1936 and soon after in a translated edition from George Allen and Unwin in London. Although the dog is not the primary character I do appreciate this canine representation. Thanks to @designfortoday for the tip.

White Horses The ‘lost’ Puffin Picture Book. In the late autumn of 1939 Eric Ravilious set off on a whirlwind painting tour of the chalk figures on the Downs. It was for a book, that sadly never made it beyond dummy stage. These original paintings, with black & white illustrations by Alice Pattullo, based on Ravilious’s dummy, will finally see the light of day in their intended format, a reimagined Puffin Picture Book. Tradition Book (Korea)

I got a table to share with two of my friends, Chloe and Luke at House of Illustration Christmas market. We have been generating ideas for the products and I decided to use my mince pie drawing to design a A6 Christmas card. 

And I came up an idea to design a concertina book about New Year tradition. 

I like looking at the different format of illustration books and Jo Pearce’s Designfortoday is so inspirational in terms of looking at screenprinting items. 

I made some sketches and coloured on lightbox. I am still figuring out the right size and format and I might do screen printing to see how it comes out. 

Originally I had the ‘making dumplings’ for the first page but realised it doesn’t go well with other traditional images so I drew another one to make it first and it seems to work well!
