1991 brought the birth of the greatest lapointe child , at least according to jaden himself. he was always a little rocket running excitedly from place to place , high-energy , much to the despair of his parents who were left with the task of keeping up . their lifestyle in the early years suited the little powerhouse – his mother and father loved the travelling life and before he was even old enough to speak they’d state-hopped and explored every hidden nook and crevice that the world had to offer . being that young he didn’t realise that it was due to his father’s native american roots – alabama wasn’t known for their open minds , especially twenty odd years ago , and the idea of his mother marrying a man anything other than white seemed unheard of . things calmed down with the realisation that hilary was pregnant again and they settled in derry now things had calmed , the small closed off town that didn’t seem to have enough space for a boy desperate to see it all . thankfully , unlike his rather conservative and old-fashioned grandmother she heard so much about , hilary let jaden do pretty much whatever he wanted ( within reason , of course ) . it started off with semi-permanent hair chalks , washable markers on pale skin , an ear piercing when he was old enough to sign the forms , then another , an impulsive nature taking root and leaving him with some questionable scars and stick ‘n’ poked imagery .

during high school he never fit in , but unlike some of the ‘ loser ‘ kids he didn’t fit the mould for the simple reason that he didn’t fucking want to . he didn’t care if teachers told him to dye his hair a normal color , to take those ‘ foul pieces of metal ‘ out of his face , he was there to have fun and maybe learn along the way .. even if not much of it got through . one passion though was science class . it was the only textbook that wasn’t filled with doodles of galaxies and moons , of little aliens and crazy spaceships , simply because outer space didn’t seem so far away when he was learning the facts . if he had been more dedicated maybe he would’ve become an astrologer , an astronaut maybe ; the dream is still there somewhere at the back of that spacey mind of his , and one day he hopes she might actually touch the stars instead of just gaze up at them .

that’s where his fear comes in . jaden always had his face in the clouds , a total space-cadet , but that meant anything below sea level was a terror for him . it wasn’t born out of a particularly traumatic event , but watching the jaws movies when he was way too long probably didn’t help manifest a phobia that would haunt him for years . swimming pools were fine , but it was the sea and the open , questionable water that made the boy tremble and quiver as his mind wandered to the worst . what could be down there -- bodies , sharks , monsters of the deep ?? maybe he’d come across titanic’s dead , a capsized ship with the ghostly spirit of a long-sunken captain . it was the darkness that spooked him , the complete and utter unknown in the watery depths that could so easily claim his everything and rip the world away .

now that he’s an adult , at least in body , he struggles to hold down a job for more than six months purely out of boredom . there always seems something better to do , but his current way to pay the bills is watching sad derry locals visiting the convenience store in their pyjamas and slippers to grab an extra carton of milk or sugar for their coffee . this was never his plans , and there’s no way that jaden will stare there forever in a dead-end job that offered no career prospects , but as a way to make ends meet he’d stick around . on his down days you can find him spinning a basketball on the end of his finger or shooting hoops out at the park , or on bleaker days he’ll be curled up in his bedroom playing xbox or playstation ( for he has both , obviously ) . the male is a hard one to tie down , but it seems that derry’s clutches have him bunkered for now at least .

She enjoys red wine, waking up early, and pushing away every man who tries to get close to her. Her job and her sister are her highest priorities.

Jemma has a very feminine demeanor and appearance, she likes to wear pastels and blazers.

She no longer has any contact with either parent and has changed her number so they cannot contact her.

She takes her job so seriously because she convinced herself she needs to help whoever is willing to be helped.

Originally from the Portland, Maine area, the Joseph family was one hot mess. Jemma was born on July 18th, 1984. She was eleven years old when her sister Juno was born. Life wasn’t really ever simple for them. Typically Jemma had to be the adult in the situation and get between their parents when they fought.

Not long after Juno had passed toddler-hood, it came out that their mother had cheated on their father, amid both of their struggles with alcoholism and drug abuse. They split up, and Jemma had to grow up almost immediately after that. They lived with their mother for just a few more years, until Jemma had enough of mothering her own mother, and she emancipated at 17, gaining full custody of her sister and moving into their own apartment.

After that it was a battle to make their parents back off. Jemma tried her hardest to get them to cooperate so that maybe whatever relationships their daughters had with them could be repaired someday. This was to no avail, as their mother would bring men to introduce every other week and their father was over-bearing and still attempted to control every aspect of both of their lives.

She finally gave up on her parents after a long while and decided to go to school for psychiatry. She spent the first four years on her undergraduate degree making sure to take as many online classes as she could, so that she could focus on working and raising Juno at the same time. Eventually she made it to grad school and into a residency program.

After her final four years of her residency, and many complications with Juno’s life over the years including an abusive boyfriend and their father trying to weasel his way back into their lives, Jemma finally gave up fully and accepted a position at Juniper Hill Asylum. She told neither of their parents where they were going, and they were finally free to begin living their own lives.

The [ TWENTY FOUR ] year old can usually be found at [ THE ALADDIN THEATER or DERRY COMMUNITY COLLEGE ], when they aren’t busy with [ GETTING HIGH or HORROR HUNTING IN TOWN ]. I hear they seem to be [ INTELLIGENT and FUNNY ], but they are also rumored to be [ DEPRESSED and HYSTERICAL ].  I’m sure they’d never admit it, but they’re terrified of [ SPIDERS ].

✗ Mitch was born and raised in Derry, Maine, alongside his twin brother, Michael, and his older brother, Nicholas. Born three minutes after his twin, Mitch has always claimed the title as the baby of the Kaplan family. 

✗ Despite being the youngest, Mitch was far from the family favorite. Growing up in a Jewish household, he didn’t find himself as certain in such a religion as his parents wanted him to be, even from a young age. Growing up, this only became more apparent. Rather than following in the footsteps his family molded for him, he chose to push religion to the side, believing instead that people should be good because they want to be decent human beings, rather than because some unknown force condemned them to be. 

✗ Mitch has always loved movies. Whether it be a lazy Sunday night, or an early Monday morning, his eyes were nearly always glued to a television, finding himself particularly drawn to horror films. As he grew older, this fascination only grew stronger, though he is convinced it has nothing to do with the films that paved his adolescence. Instead, the youngest Kaplan boy is convinced that he can see spirits and things of the “other world” something that has affected him more negatively than not. He currently keeps an ongoing journal, one he had started back in elementary school, of his encounters, and uses these notes for reference in the novel he’s been working on. It’s been a long time in the works, but writing can be hard when you’re constantly getting high to cope with the things you’ve seen, right? 

✗ Oddities aside, Mitch has never truly thrown himself into the idea of romance, or sought out the feeling of love. He finds himself happiest when he is alone, or with his friends, but doesn’t believe he needs a girl to complete himself. That being said, he had opened his heart once in the past, to a girl that only proved why he was better off on his own. She had cheated on him, numerous times, convincing him to take her back with each mistake until the boy’s already existent depression began to worsen. In the end, she was the one to break off the relationship, being as Mitch was too in love with her to part, despite knowing they needed to. 

✗ Mitch continues to scour Derry for new mysteries, and is willing to talk to just about anyone about the things he believes in. Even his therapist, who he is convinced only uses the information to name him insane. 

✗ Hunting spirits and sleeping until two in the afternoon can be a decent routine most days, but sometimes Mitch is inclined to spend the day with a bong in hand watching shitty comedy reruns, or chasing a line of coke or baggie of pills at whatever party is going on for the night, attempting to have fun and “act his age” as his therapist suggests -- though he’s certain that isn’t what the man meant.

Up until the twins were born, she’d been just a dog mommy - to her and her husband’s two-year-old Rhodesian Ridgeback, Zeus.

She may be a wife and a new mother, but she still knows how to have a good time. Andie’s still super spontaneous and fun and an all around charming individual. Of course, she is very responsible when she needs to be, and does both her wifely and motherly duties with pleasure...but a girl’s still gotta have fun, you know?

She’s not afraid to call you out on your shit. VERY outspoken and bold, by nature, but is rarely malicious or cruel about it.

Basically, though, she’s a 23 year old artisan, working in and co-owning the family shop, The Rose Garden, which is essentially a botanical or natural apothecary like shop, that sells plants, dried and fresh herbs, scented candles, organic body products and fresh vegan snacks made from ingredients found in the Hannigan and Rhoades family nurseries, and also essential oils, culinary oils, etc, to name just a handful of things. Hello, everyone! My name is Neptune and I currently play Leona Lancaster and Prissy Goldwyn, but I’ll be bringing in two other ladies next week so I’m super excited for that as well. As for me, I’m 26 and married, and I have two young boys and I am expecting a little girl at the beginning of May - so a little more than a month away. So I’ll have my hands full but I won’t be going anywhere - my activity might slow a bit, but I won’t be leaving this group anytime soon. RPing is my means of escapism and the thing that keeps me happy on a daily basis. I’m in the PST time zone but my hours are all over the place, since I’m not working currently. I’m mostly active during the early evenings and late nights my time, whenever that is for you guys (my knowledge of the world clock is abysmal, tbh)

♡ beckett works at the local high school, where she incorporated her love for words into creative writing and english courses. she’s working on a horror novel of her own at home, and has been for years, but she just can’t seem to find the right ending. 

♡ she found herself pregnant at the early age of fifteen, to a boy that was much older than she was. foolish enough to believe taking her clothes off would convince him to love her, she quickly learned that wasn’t the case. a baby was never part of her plan, but at sixteen her entire world changed, and molly became the focus of her whole life. 

♡ it was tough going through her last few years of high school with a baby, and even harder making her way through college, but luckily she had owen at her side throughout it all. the two were damn near inseparable in school, and a baby didn’t stand in the way of that. in fact, they got married shortly after graduation and went through the legal procedures for owen to adopt molly just as soon. in beckett’s mind, he’s her real father, even if he isn’t her biological parent. 

♡ beckett’s entire world runs on creativity and imagination. maybe it’s because she was thrown into parenthood so early, but she couldn’t imagine life without these things. creating vapid stories and mystical tales, as well as mediocre paintings and crafts, are some of her favorite ways to pass time. it took years to finish, but the ramseys have an “art room” in their home where all of their books and craft supplies live, and it’s easily her favorite place.

Born and raised in Derry

Is the youngest of six kids

Her father is the pastor of Grace Baptist Church, and her mother is the Dean of Derry Community College.

She has a half-brother, Owen, who came into the family a few years after Edison lost his first wife in a car accident. He married Marianne, who was a Swedish professor and a single mom herself.

She and her siblings were raised under the strict shadows of the church and their parents.

Edison and Marianne Perry were very controlling and strict when it came to raising their kids. All six children had to maintain excellent grades in school, participate in church and other community events and activities (charities, fundraising and other volunteer work), and be on their best behavior when in the public eye, which also included while they were at school. Their parents did not tolerate disobedience or any sort of rebellious behavior, wanting the Perry family to have a clean and respectable imagine around town.

With a strict upbringing like that, it was no wonder that the Perry children started to rebel outrageously as they aged and were able to think for themselves - as suppressed teens were won’t to do. Every one of her siblings had their own way of rebelling, but Mona mostly kept quiet and just did what she was told. Not because she agreed with her parents’ strict rules, but because she was being smart about her rebellion. She didn’t want to be watched like a hawk by them, and if she threw a stink about every little rule and order they laid out, that is what would’ve happened. She snuck out of the house plenty but was never caught because her parents believed she was compliant and didn’t need a full surveillance like the others.

During high school, Mona got excellent grades, participated in a variety of school clubs and extracurricular activities -  she was a cheerleader for all four years of high school; she was on the student council (as secretary), and she took photos for the yearbook, to name a few. She even wrote the gossip column of the school newspaper during her junior and senior years. A lot of this was pushed on her by her parents, like the cheerleading and school council, but she learned to enjoy them.

She was seen as a church-going goody two-shoes. Innocent, sweet Mona Perry, the pastor’s daughter. Liked by most because she was quiet, respectful and kind. Of course, it was really just an act. She’s lovely and sweet to your face, but underneath that mask was a very calculating and cunning girl who liked to mess with people. She spent a lot of her time lurking in the background, mostly going unnoticed as she spied and eavesdropped on her peers. Mona often jotted down stuff she heard in her notebook or snapped photos for evidence, and then used it for blackmail if it suited her.

She loves being in control, which likely stems from having so little of it while growing up under her parents’ roof.

The only people she loves are her siblings. They meant the world to her and they’re literally the only ones in her life currently that she respects and refuses to blackmail for any reason. They’ve always treated her with love and affection, most likely because she was the baby of the family.

Mona no longer considers herself a devout follower of Christ and she no longer goes to church now that she is an adult and moved out from under her helicopter parents’ house.

Currently she is studying at the local community college, whilst working at the Main Street Coffee Shop as a barista.

Wanted Connections

Her oldest sister - I picture as being played by Elizabeth Olsen, but any fc will do. I’d love to have the sister be very affectionate and motherly, not only to Mona but to all of the siblings.

Her other siblings - all of the Perry children are very close with one another and have their own dynamics, so I’d love to have them for Mona to interact with.

Hey hey! Here’s a lil bit about my new b, though I’m still working out all the details. He’s been in Derry since he was 10, so for 25 years, so I’m open to most plots/connections.

Gabe Knight was born to loving parents Virginia and William Knight in London, England. They were the perfect family. His mother was a school teacher, and his father owned the local book store. They were close knit, cookie cutter, and extremely loving towards one another. Virginia’s mother, Rose, also lived with the family after her husband passed away when Gabe was a toddler. They weren’t poor, but far from well-off. They lived simple lives and were more focused on their time together as a family than materialistic goods. Gabe is very close to all of his family, especially his parents and grandma.

When Gabe was 10, his parents were driving home from work (his father always dropped his mom off in the morning, due to only having one car) and they were t-boned. The crash killed them both instantly and nearly broke Gabe entirely. He was left in the care of his grandmother, and she made the decision to move them to the United States for a fresh start. It was just too painful to be in England anymore. (So yes, he still has an accent.)

Gabe has always been creative. He loves to build, fix, and restore things. He loves to write--poetry, songs, stories, etc--and is always carrying around a journal because he like the permanence of pen and paper. He’s a bit of a forward thinker, having no idea what he wanted to be when he was a kid- and is still figuring that out to this day.

One thing Gabe knew he always wanted to be was a husband and find a love that his parents shared. He dated casually in High School, but never found the time to commit to anyone due to how busy he was getting good grades to keep up his scholarships, playing sports (soccer is a big one), or extra circulars. It was a priority to him, but one he wanted to explore after graduating from College and becoming a teacher like his mom.

That all changed when his freshman orientation, he met who he thought was ‘the one’. Him and Autumn dated all through college and got married right after they graduated. They moved back to Gabe’s hometown of Derry (so he left for four years) and they both began teaching at the local high school. Gabe was the English and drama teacher, and his wife taught History. Their marriage wasn’t perfect--they were always buying into the ‘opposites attract stereotype’--but they were happy. Until they weren’t.

Gabe’s grandma, Rose, died suddenly and it sent Gabe spiralling. He quit his job at the school and these factors caused a bit riff between Autumn and Gabe and continued to push them further apart. Since Gabe had most week nights and weekends free, he tried to turn his grief into something tangible and opened SecondHand Rose as a way to remember his grandma by. She had always loved antiques and being in the store is a good way for him to remember her and also keep her memory alive. Everyone in town loved Gramma Rose, she was everyone’s grandma.

This in turn, however, took up a lot of Gabe’s free time and Autumn was less than pleased. She was glad her husband was healing from his grief, but she harboured resentment as well.

The strain on their marriage came to a head nearly a year after opening the store when Gabe went to the high school on his lunch break to surprise Autumn and he caught his wife sleeping with the principal of the school. He was heart broken and beyond devastated to lose his grandma and his wife in the short span of just over a year and a half.

He promptly moved out of the house and now lives in the apartment suite that is attached above his store. He fixed it up over time ever since he bought the place, planning to rent it out for extra income but was glad it was vacant when he needed it. He no longer talks to Autumn, and wants nothing to do with her. He’s putting all of his free time in continuing to make the store as good as it can be. Given how old the building is, it often needs repairs but thankfully, Gabe is a handyman so he’s happy to put in the elbow grease. He also has a lot of Gramma Rose’s things on display as a sort of museum of her incredible life. He misses her dearly and this store helps him cope with her loss.

He’s doing his best to keep a brave face but inside he is very broken. Gabe is a perfect English gentleman; very kind and caring. He’s charismatic and kind, but also can be reserved and jealous as a result of all of the things he’s been through over his life. He’s a great friend and would do anything to help someone, even if they were a stranger. He’s drinking more than usual now and also picked up smoking to cope with the stress (tsk tsk). Gabe is as selfless as they come and loves to make others smile, even if he barely does it himself anymore.

TL;DR: Moved to Derry from England with his Grandma Rose many years ago, went away to school for a few years, got married, came back. Grandma died. Wife turned out to be the worst, cheated on him with his old boss. Now he’s sad. Sad boi hour for Gabe is 24 hours a day, but he’s trying to heal. He just needs time.
