I've made a new post that features a translation of a song often sung in Grojie.
be nékyokre de mualdwò
The song of the groī, a song often sung at governmental meetings or national special events and holidays. It is similar to a national anthem but there are no official national anthems on the continent. It is simply a song/chant for the groī, made by the groī. Written versions of the song are normally seen in public schools and official government offices.
Oh, in this empire we will forage, our hearts intertwined,
With the songs of the wind, we'll leave the past behind.
We'll paint a canvas of dreams, where love will never end,
In this world, together, our souls will mend.
In the land of whispers, where nature's songs entwine,
We'll find our path, where destiny's stars align.

Amhrán Taillte Garbha, Faraoise agus Draíocht (A Song of Wastelands, Forests and Magic)
Ceol & Liricí: Travolta-P
Bunteideal: 荒野と森と魔法の歌
Amhránaí: Hatsune Miku
Forais atá beo le beatha glas,
Anois, níl sé ach talamh garbh ina damhsaíonn néal deannaigh
Ó bhun mo chroí, guífidh mé go mbéarfaidh sé arís
Le beatha beaga a cuireann suas le haon rud
Ach ag déanamh caint faoi talamh ag imeacht chun raice
Agus áit lán le cuimhní,
Líonann sé seo mo shúile le deora ag glioscarnach
Lig é dom, ná bí buartha
Má tá sé mo ghlór draíochta, is féidir liom aon rud a dhéanamh
Cuir an chúram mianta agus mothúcháin orm
Agus anois, athróidh mé iad go neart drithleach
Na scamaill a leathan sa spéir,
Gaireann siad ar báisteach agus déanann siad abhainn mhóire
Cuireann siad dath gorm ar an talamh
Sula i bhfad, béarfar a lán beatha nua
Lig é dom, ná bí buartha
Má tá sé mo ghlór draíochta, is féidir liom aon rud a bronnadh
Má tá na mianta agus mothúcháin láidir go leor,
Is féidir linn domhan drithleach a fheiceáil

Price: [price_with_discount] (as of [price_update_date] - Details) [ad_1] INTRODUCTION BY LATA MANGESHKAR Lata Mangeshkar's life and career are widely known, and yet there is an aspect that remains largely unrecorded: her life on the international stage. Beyond the confines of a recording booth, or as the voice of generations of actresses, she was an accomplished and magnetic performer on stage. She attracted vast audiences of Indian origin who have made their home in many countries, including the US and Canada. Mangeshkar transformed how the Indian film music concert was perceived in the West by refusing to be part of the low-key song-and-dance performances that were held earlier in community halls, schools and colleges. She insisted that she and her colleagues would sing only in mainstream auditoriums - this was an unheard-of demand because Indian film artistes had never performed on those stages at that time. In ON STAGE WITH LATA, Mohan Deora - co-promoter and co-organizer of Lata Mangeshkar's international tours from 1975 to 1998 - allows us to journey with her and the top male playback singers, including Mukesh (who tragically died during a Detroit tour), Manna Dey and Kishore Kumar. Deora and Shah write about the participation of big-name stars including Amitabh Bachchan and Dilip Kumar, Waheeda Rehman and Farida Jalal. Mangeshkar is described here in her interactions with musicians, colleagues and friends as she meticulously prepared to sing on stage. The tours led to planning and glitches, camaraderie and tension, and anecdotes galore. They also provided the authors with a unique opportunity to observe the clarity of thought with which Lata Mangeshkar approached her work, and to see a great artiste at the height of her powers. A fine eye for detail makes the book a delight to read as Mohan Deora and Rachana Shah record an important slice of India's cinematic and cultural history. HELL YEA OC song/voice headcanon time let’s goooo I’ve been wanting to do one of these for a long time now. And after seeing my friend @shunfluff do one for some of their OCs, I finally decided to sit down and take time to throw this together while I actually still have a drawing bug. Strike while the iron’s hot and all. Though I… didn’t just stop at drawings and and song titles. I really shouldn’t have access to Filmora X’D After seeing how fun the effects could be, I played around a bit to make it all a bit more dynamic. Ofc I couldn’t get to all 50 of my OCs, I mostly just picked ones that I already had a song in mind for. If I feel like doing another vid with more OCs at a later date, then I definitely will. More rambling under the cut.
Harvey: “You’re Gonna Go Far, Kid” by The Offspring (Singer: Dexter Holland) Harvey loves all things rock. Mostly British & Australian punk rock, but also a good majority of alternative and some metal. His voice was actually pretty hard to pinpoint; I see it being at a range anywhere between Queen and Adam Lambert, plus he’s a master at changing his voice. But ultimately I settled on this singer, which is a good middle-ground. Terry: “The World That He Sees” by Trans-Siberian Orchestra (Singer: Zak Stevens) Terry is inspired directly from TSO, so it only seemed fitting to use one of their songs. He has a beautiful booming operatic singing voice, which his family had him use in their Catholic church to sing classic hymns during masses. Seth: “Indigo” by Ed-Alleyne Johnson As you can tell, this isn’t a song with vocals. Seth’s voice is somewhat close to Josh Groban’s, he’s just not as skilled of a singer. But in a sense, his electric violin is his voice so I decided to switch things up. Marie: “Kings & Queens” by Ava Max Marie is a criminally under-used OC of mine. She was the lead scientist behind the Animalia - the group of animal hybrid subjects (like Harvey). She does a lot of work for humanitarian, environmentalist and gender equality efforts. She’s very self-confident and knows damn well how to strut her stuff to get what she wants. She uses every bit of media attention to bring important issues to light, and often has men in the science community at her beck and call, pointing out the double-standards of the science community and their treatment of women in the field. Riley: “Monster” by Skillet (Singer: John Cooper) Angsty badger is angsty. Riley battles a lot of internal rage and violent urges, struggling to keep it in check. I was torn between this song and “Animal I Have Become”, but ultimately this one just sounds more like him. Kenisime: “ Deora Ar Mo Chroí ” by Enya I ended up using Kenni’s female form for this, since there weren’t any songs off the top of my head that had a really deep, really soft/silky voice. So Enya’s soothing singing is very fitting for Kenni in this form. Ragaeli: “Say My Name” from Beetlejuice (Singer: Alex Brightman) I already posted this in a diff video, but might as well include him here too. Pitched-down Alex Brightman is still a dead-ringer for Rags’ normal speaking & singing voice. Kama: “Ijazat” from the movie One Night Stand (Singer: Tanuj Virwani) Ngl, my first song choice for Kama was “Tonight (I’m Fckin You)” by Enrique Iglesias. His voice tone and the lyrics were very fitting for Kama, but a friend pointed out that it might be uhhh weird to have a Spanish singer as a voice claim for an Indian character. So instead I found a nice sensual Indian song that works well for him. Clancy: “Dulaman” by (Singer: Ciaran O’Donovan) There was a different singer/version for this song on TikTok that’s a closer match to Clancy’s voice, but the account got deleted for some reason :c So this one works. He has a very light, airy, pleasant voice. I like to imagine that the choir in the background is his other fairy workers at his trading post. …And then Harvey again, lmao. He’s a fucking awesome guitarist and I had to show that off. “Through the Fire and Flames” has just the right amount of chaotic, fiery enthusiasm for his character.

Liane- don’t worry about me *kiss him in the lips*
Vert- eww guys, there are teenagers here
Liane- hahaha okay
Liane got in the battle spec, while Vert got in his Deora II. She put one of Shirako’s songs, that’s why he is the spirit of the team.
(Put headlines for a better experience)
Monkey (the guy who is a member of metal maniacs team) started the race
(Hahaha he is very funny)
Liane and Vert started to race
Liane- remember Vert! NO Nitrox 2
Vert- you’re not funny
Liane- I’m serious
Vert accelerate the car, and now he is in front of Liane
Liane- oh no, you don’t!
Liane accelerated her car too and now she is passing Vert’s car
Liane- *laughs* Hey Vert! What was that Taro’s line? I’m gonna pass you
Vert- Watch out Liane! This road is mountainous, there is a risk of death
Liane- don’t worry about me, I got this!
Vert was now next to Liane’s car, they made a drift and Liane almost got out of control in the volant, but their race is over, because Mark Wylde, Kurt’s younger brother interrupted their race. He drives his car in the middle of Liane and Vert cars, both of them got out of control, and their cars left the track
THIS FOOL IS TRYING TO KILL THEM!? ARE WE SURE YOU ALL KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING!?

verty wheelboy
VERT: Fav thing: he is such a sweetheart and represents everything good about the series. he doesn’t seem to care about the team rivalry nearly as much as everyone else he just wants to fuckingg drive!!!!! he is just a purehearted little dumbass and i love him for it :D Least fav thing: it makes me sad how much they toned down every aspect of him in acceleracers. his confidence, upbeat/cocky attitude, surfer/skater background, his position as the main character!! everything! and they cut the series right when he got pulled back into the spotlight and it’s sad!!! our boy deserved better. and he makes stupid, nonsensical decisions that seem solely for the purpose of adding more fuckups for him to be sad n angsty over later, but just feel forced + ooc (see: water realm). he has more sense than that and he’s shown it in WR, so like what happened??? also he’s kinda cringe sometimes Fav line: his voice is so pretty, i play all of his lines in my head on repeat, but if i had to chooseee....”Just...racing with the Teku.[...] They’re not punks” (defending the bros!!!), “You Maniacs afraid of a little music~?”, and (“Vert you can’t go after Kadeem”) “Oh yeah? Watch me!” are my top three. brOTP: him/taro (them sticking together in the realms early on is so cute tbh) him/nolo/shirako, him/markie (the shift in their relationship between WR/Acc makes me big sads), him/lani (!!!! siblings!! (not by blood ofc)), him/alec, him/his dad (!!!!! dad wheeler helping vert escape the acceledrome makes me crying emoji) OTP: kadeem!!! and i blame cheekyposelenets for it entirely nOTP: keep!!!! tezla!!!! away!!!! from!!! Him!!!!!! platonically, romantically, and physically!!!! if tezla so much as LOOKs at vert, i will b i t e Random HC: i know i have a lot, but tragically can only remember these few atm...he is the most fleshed out of anyone so there’s a lot to work with :)
silencer dad, alec, and banjee tell vert about how fuck’d up tezla is and they all band together to Get His Ass
merliah from mermaid tale is what vert could have been if he hadn’t gotten addicted to racing
he has pet fish!!!! (i know this wouldn’t be realistic considering how often he is away from home, but i am projecting!!!!!)
mom wheeler was much more supportive of his hobbies than dad wheeler
he added teku/wave ripper jet boosters to his silencer car and that's how the other drivers recognize him when they meet up again
also: tumbler user ten thousand bees big brain
Unpopular opinion: him being 16 in the first movie has made shipping him with anyone from WR weird tbh. i kinda sorta shipped him w/taro at first, but when i realized that, i couldn’t get past it and dropped it. i can kinda overlook/ignore it with kadeem since i generally see it as a crush on vert’s side more than anything, but yeah........(no hate on anyone’s ships ofc, i just have trouble getting past it personally lol). also all of his cars suck except for deora ii (both skins); after that they just get progressively uglier. Song: bffsie said “Hey, Soul Sister” - Train had vert vibes once and it’s so painfully accurate that i haven’t forgotten about it since. also gonna say “La Da Dee” - Cody Simpson bc i like that song and it has the same energy :) Fav pic: vert b like :pleading emoji:

I stared at the passing scenery of the coast road, mouthing the lyrics to the song filling my right ear. The left was empty in case Taro had something to say. It wasn’t very likely, seeing as he’s the quiet type. I’d rather not take my chances though – the last time I listened to music and he tried to talk to me, he got so annoyed that he broke my music player. Getting him to buy me a new one took a lot of convincing and even took getting our leader involved to guilt him into doing it. Thank you, Tork!
I glanced over at Taro before moving my eyes to his window. From the way he was driving, the view of the ocean was on his side of the car while I got to stare at a large rock formation. I offered to drive just for that reason, but Taro isn’t too keen on letting other people drive his car. Or sit on it. Or touch it in general, really.
My eyes shifted to the side mirror where Monkey’s car, Rolling Thunder, was close behind us. A few feet behind him was our infamous leader, Tork. He’s the king of the show tonight, taking on the leader of our rivals, the Teku. To be honest, no matter who wins, it’s not going to take away the anger Nolo has for our leader. Long story short, Tork raced Nolo’s older brother a while back. Nolo’s brother got cocky and made a mistake. The price? His life.
Ever since then, Tork has been hiding feelings of guilt and doubt. On the other hand, Nolo goes out of his way to show his hatred for Tork. Kinda pisses me off, but I’m always told to stay out of it.
“Hey,” Taro smacked my arm. “Turn that off, we’re almost there.”
A small patch of land stretched out from the road, overlooking the water. All of the Teku drivers were there, waiting for us to arrive. Well, I assume they’re waiting, though it seems more like they’re having a party.
With a scowl, I shove my music player into the pocket of my hoodie just as Taro comes to a stop on the side of the road, Monkey right behind. As we stepped out of his car, it became apparent that there was some serious tension between Nolo and one of his members, Vert.
Despite being on the rival team, I was actually pretty cool with Vert. Taro would never admit it nor act like it, but he also has nothing against the blonde teen.
“Hey! Are you Teku here to race, or to fight?” Taro called. It was soon followed by the screeching of tires as Tork made his entrance. Nolo’s attention immediately went to him. Even if I didn’t know about the rivalry, the head-turning really wouldn’t surprise me.
The Metal Maniacs are full of huge, burly guys with the exception of myself – since I’m a chick – and Monkey – since he’s a twig. However, Tork is the largest of the group. When I first met him, I actually thought he was going to kill me.
He stepped out of the car and the two leaders stared each other down. It was pretty typical, really. I moved to sit on the hood of Taro’s Road Runner, checking my watch for the time. I knew that Mark had to be on his way up here even though we made sure that no one told him about the race tonight. It’s not that he’s a bad driver or that we hate him, it’s just…
Well, to put it simply, Mark is a lot like Nolo. He has a grudge that he won’t let go and it fuels him to make bad decisions. Plus Mark is like a wild lion, there’s no taming him OR telling him what to do. He just won’t listen to reason.
After a few more minutes passed, Taro shooed me off his car and the two leaders lined up to begin the race. Monkey had a light device to let them know when to start and he was also in charge of making sure the road was clear of pedestrian drivers. Street racing is always fun, but when you add civilians to the mix… well, it can get pretty messy.
A car zoomed past Monkey at break-neck speed, squealing to a stop between Nolo’s car and Tork’s. Mark had arrived and he was pissed.
“Why didn’t you tell me we were taking on the Teku?”
Tork didn’t spare him a glance, used to the younger man’s antics. “Me against Nolo. That’s how we handle it.” He moved his car forward, but that didn’t stop Mark from yelling after him.
“I want ‘em, Tork, I want ’em all! You knew that from the start!”
I sighed, shoving my hands into my pockets. “You know he’s gonna cause a problem, right?”
Taro didn’t respond, so I sighed again and headed over to where Vert was leaning against his own car, the Deora II. The other Teku glared at me as I came closer and I could feel Taro staring at my back. He didn’t approve of my friendliness with Vert for obvious reasons, but he never said anything about it, either.
I could tell Vert was annoyed that he wasn’t the one racing, but he offered me a smile anyway. I leaned next to him close to the road and threw him a grin. “So, who’s gonna win?”
He held back a grin of his own. “The Teku for sure.”
“Hmm, I dunno. Tork’s pretty good. Plus – ” I paused, staring at Mark sitting in his Spinebuster. “ – I don’t think this race will end how anyone expects it will.”
He looked at me questioningly but was quickly distracted when the race finally began.
Just as predicted, Mark swung his car around and took off after them. Taro yelled his name but it was swallowed by the sound of roaring engines and squealing tires echoing off the rocks. I caught his eye and he shook his head, climbing into his vehicle.
I patted Vert’s shoulder. “You might wanna follow.”
Again, he sent me a questioning look but didn’t say anything as I ran back to Taro, climbing into the passenger seat as the engine roared to life. Monkey and the other Teku followed suit, sensing that something wasn’t right.
We reached the site of the crash fairly quickly. Nolo’s car was sitting on top of some rocks, while Tork’s was half on the guardrail and half on the road. Seeing the guardrail broken a ways down, I rushed after Monkey to the side of the cliff to see Mark’s car dangling from his grappling hook that was embedded in the rock.
“Wylde’s okay!” Monkey announced. “He’s cranking back up.”
I sighed in relief but stopped short when I finally noticed the small floating machine in the middle of the road. I guessed it was the cause for Mark crashing… but what in the world even is it?
Kurt and Vert approached it. Vert addressed it. “What are you doing here?”
“Dr. Tezla needs you.” It spoke.
“Oh really? What about after the World Race when we needed him to give us more Nitrox? He wouldn’t even talk to us!” Kurt sounded like a druggie that had gone too long without his fix. I found myself rolling my eyes before I even realized it.
Huh, maybe Mark’s hatred for his big brother is rubbing off on me.
“Dr. Tezla needed all the fuel for his research.” It spoke again.
“Well we wanted to go through the portals again – ” Vert didn’t sound angry like his teammate, just disappointed. “ – and race in Highway 35.”
I wasn’t around back then, but Taro and Mark had each told me stories about the infamous World Race on Highway 35. Apparently, it’s a race track in another dimension or something and this Tezla guy offered 35 racers a crap ton of money to get the wheel of power found at the end of the track. The story gets kinda fuzzy from there. Something about an evil woman, a spy, and robots built to race? I don’t know. I kinda dozed off during their recollection of the events past.
“No one can go through the portals now.” It explained. “Gelorum and her racing drones have taken the wheel of power.”
I stared at the thing blankly, not even blinking. Huh, so they were telling the truth. And here I thought they were just insane, or in Taro’s case, had too much to drink. I guess I owe them an apology… too bad Metal Maniacs don’t apologize. Ever.
Monkey, who stood on Taro’s left, moved closer. “Hey, Taro, What’s this wheel of power business? What does it mean?”
“Trouble,” Was all he said as he headed back to his car, motioning for me to follow. Since it’s always easier just to do as he says rather than not, I followed silently, sending glances over my shoulder as the woman from Teku started to talk to it. I was too far away by now to hear what was being said between them, but I was close enough to see Nolo throw a hissy fit.
“Give me a car!” He limped toward Kurt and Vert. “I want to finish this thing tonight!”
“There’s something we have to do, Nolo.” Vert sounded annoyed now, and honestly, who can blame him? Just look at his teammates, okay.
“What’s he talking about?!” Nolo screamed. I fought the urge to cringe. God, this kid is annoying. “Nothing’s more important than the Teku!”
“This is.” Kurt insisted, and with that, the Teku took off, leaving their leader in the middle of the road screaming his lungs out.
“Hey, Taro.” Monkey ran up to us as we made our way to the car. “You know this Tezla dude. Wylde told me he paid like millions of dollars to some of his drivers.”
Damn, do you know how much soda and anime I could buy with millions of dollars? Maybe this won’t be so bad after all.
Taro looked at him in disbelief. “You’re coming?”
“You think Tork would mind?” Monkey and I both looked at our leader who was punching his hood repeatedly and growling in frustration. We shared a look before scurrying after Taro. “Hey! Wait up, Taro!”

My Personal Ranking of Enya’s Discography
Before I really started getting into pop music and the music of today, before I was a true Little Monster or Arianator, before all of that, I had one true music idol: Enya. Enya is one of the most divine artists of our time, I think.
I knew many of her songs from dancing to them at ballroom concerts or gigs (such as It’s In The Rain, Dreams Are More Precious, and Wild Child), but I never took the time to listen to how beautiful they were. I dug out Watermark from my parent’s CD cabinet one day in my junior year of high school, and became completely enraptured. I wouldn’t go a day without listening to her; yes, I would even fall asleep to her music. I just think she has the most incredible ear for rapturous orchestration, otherworldly vocal arrangements and layering, and heavenly melodies. I always look for music that is just beautiful, and she is the epitome of that for me.
Certain albums speak more to me than others, but all of her work is just absolutely divine. I’d love to share my thoughts and express my gratitude for her incredible work.
Reminder: this is my opinion. Everyone has a different ear, and certain sounds and songs resonate with different people. I’m just sharing my personal thoughts and experiences with these albums.
8. And Winter Came... (2008)
Although Christmas is my favorite holiday and the holiday season is just a sweet time of year, I’m not terribly fond of holiday releases. Other than Mariah’s “All I Want for Christmas is You”, many modern holiday releases are not noteworthy, and can’t live up to the true holiday classic we know and love. This album, unfortunately, falls in that category.
As a whole, this album just falls flat compared to the majesty of the rest of her work. Certain songs just don’t gel with me like “One Toy Soldier” and “My! My! Times Flies”; the use of the electric guitar in the latter just sounds corny, and I don’t enjoy it.
The album has its moments: “Dreams Are More Precious” as I mentioned is one of my introductions to Enya and it’s also one of my favorite songs of hers, the title song follows the tradition of a killer title song on an Enya album, and the “Oíche Chiúin (Chorale)” is Enya vocal-layering at its best, and it’s wonderful to hear such a beloved holiday hymn in another language.
It’s not an awful album; it’s not just heavy in my Enya rotation, we’ll say.
Favorite Songs: “And Winter Came...”, “Journey of the Angels”, “Dreams Are More Precious”, “Stars and Midnight Blue”, “Oíche Chiúin (Chorale)”
7. Amarantine (2005)
This is another album that just doesn’t stand out too much for me. I actually think it’s quite a lovely album, and the fact that it has the first use of the Loxian language that Roma Ryan invented is exciting; “Water Shows The Hidden Heart” is probably my favorite song on the album from the use of the language and the fact that it’s just a really gorgeous song.
I don’t have a lot to say, really. It’s a fine album, but it just doesn’t resonate with me as much as her other albums.
Favorite Songs: “Amarantine”, “It’s In The Rain”, “If I Could Be Where You Are”, “A Moment Lost”, “Water Shows The Hidden Heart”
6. A Day Without Rain (2000)
This is an interesting album for me. It contains some of her strongest work and some of my most favorite of her work, but it’s not a favorite of mine either. I think the album artwork just speaks to quintessential Enya (and may be my earliest picture of Enya in my mind, I’m not sure), but it’s not my quintessential Enya album. The critics of the time absolutely hated it; I don’t necessarily agree with them, but I think I understand.
The album is incredibly top heavy, in my opinion. The title song is pure bliss, “Only Time” obviously took the world by storm for good reason (and unfortunately in the meme world as well, which I don’t appreciate), and “Deora Ar Mo Chroí” is one of the most beautiful and tragic songs I’ve ever heard. After “Flora’s Secret” (another song I danced to in ballroom), it really loses steam and power. I can hardly ever finish the album for this reason.
It’s musically one of her most gorgeous albums, but it’s not the most impactful or inventive.
Favorite Songs: “A Day Without Rain”, “Only Time”, “Deora Ar Mo Chroí”, “Flora’s Secret”, “Pilgrim”
5. Enya (1987) / The Celts (1992)
At first listen, I really did not like this album. I thought it wasn’t pretty enough, it didn’t have the key Enya elements, and it was too weird. Listening to it more and more, those are actually the reasons I really quite enjoy it now.
It’s nothing like the rest of her work, which makes it so unique. She was just starting to find her musical sound and sensibilities, and this involved a lot more experimentation on her part. It’s so musically interesting and diverse, and so wonderfully late 80′s. It is a compilation of songs used on the show The Celts, but the fact that it holds up so well as an album itself is remarkable.
This album was a perfect starting point for the rest of her career and it holds up as a great album now.
Favorite Songs: “Aldebaran”, “Deireadh an Tuath”, “Fairytale”, “Boadicea”, “Dan y Dwr”
4. Dark Sky Island (2015)
You have no idea how excited I was to be getting a brand new album from Enya after I started being a huge fan. I wasn’t sure if we would get a new one after And Winter Came..., and little 19 year old me was geeking out too much at the thought of a new Enya album. To say the least, I was not disappointed at all.
This is one of her strongest releases in a long time; 7 years break from releasing music really benefited her, and she came back more powerful than ever. This is such a solid album, and I definitely had it on loop when it first came out.
I will say that none of my favorite tracks stand out against her earlier work, and there is no true powerhouse of the album. It is a very cohesive album, however, and that is how it is so successful. It’s a pleasure to listen to from start to finish.
I sure do hope we get more records from her in the future. I would be so eternally grateful if she could bless us just once or twice more.
Favorite Songs: “The Humming”, “The Forge Of The Angels”, “I Could Never Say Goodbye”, “Dark Sky Island”, “Diamonds On The Water”
3. The Memory Of Trees (1995)
I got this album for Christmas a few years back along with And Winter Came..., and believe me, I was listening to this album non-stop. This is the album that solidified my status as a true Enya fan.
For a while, this was my favorite Enya album, and maybe my favorite album of all time. However, my opinion has shifted, and I realize that I was just devastatingly in love with a few certain tracks. Like A Day Without Rain, this album is very top heavy for me, with the last few tracks not carrying the power of the beginning of the album.
“Athair Ar Neamh” took my breath away when I first heard it; I think it is her most beautiful song to date. I was just absolutely ravished by the haunting nature of the song with the signature Enya production behind it. It’s a song I can always throw on to feel comforted.
All in all, this is an absolutely gorgeous album, and it’s part of the reason I’m so in love with her work.
Favorite Songs: “The Memory Of Trees”, “Pax Deorum”, “Athair Ar Neamh”, “Hope Has A Place”, “Once You Had Gold”
2. Watermark (1989)
This is the album that catapulted Enya into international stardom, and for good reason. This entire album is ethereal and blissful perfection. It really creates its own world and transports you on a journey filled with desire, contentment, and adventure.
It’s the first full Enya album I listened to, and I can always find joy and comfort in its gorgeous melodies, her haunting vocals, and the spectacular production on Nicky Ryan’s part. “Evening Falls” and “Na Laetha Geal M'Óige” were the two songs that established my sensibility towards Enya’s softer and slower songs, and I hold every other song to their standard, basically.
There is not a bad song on this album, and it definitely could take the number one spot. This is the perfect starter album for anyone trying to get into Enya, and it’s one of the most beautiful albums ever made.
Favorite Songs: “Watermark”, “On Your Shore”, “Exile”, “Evening Falls”, “Na Laetha Geal M'Óige”
1. Shepherd Moons (1991)
This is the quintessential Enya album in my opinion. It checks every mark, and then some. Everything about this album is just so perfect, incredible, powerful, etc. This is where she hit her stride, and delivered her most incandescent work. I can truly escape into another world when I listen to this album. It’s an album I need all the time; it’s one of the albums that really defines me.
Every song is just so good; there’s not a dud at all. The ones that impacted me the most are “Caribbean Blue” and “Marble Halls”; both epitomize the qualities I love most about Enya. They are my two most favorite songs of hers, but I’m going to say that “Marble Halls” takes the cake for the top spot. It’s not an original work of hers (funnily enough), but it’s just the most gorgeous song ever. Nothing else to it; it’s absolutely flawless, divine, and any other adjective meaning “perfection”.
I love this album so much, and I will forever be indebted to Enya’s brilliance and majesty because of this album.
Enya is an absolute goddess of music, and I hope she knows how much impact she has to all her fans around the world. She is just amazing, and I will love her and her art forever.

Movie Blogs #3: United 93
“Are you ready? Okay. Let’s roll.”
Oh, look, a new post for the first time in over a century. I said I was going to do Grinch next week... then shitty things had happened in my life and now here I am.
Fitting that I talk about this movie since today marks 21 years since that fateful day that changed the world forever. I was born just over a few months after the 9/11 attacks happened, and seeing the newscasts and horrors of it when I saw them during my junior year of high school in my history class, it really just goes to show how we’ve changed, how this event changed everything.
Two planes hit the Twin Towers. Another hit the Pentagon. But this plane, United Airlines Flight 93, was the only one that did not reach its desired target (the Capitol building).
Everything about this movie, from the way it was made, just seems so real and raw, almost feels like we’re watching a documentary of sorts. The actors don’t really feel like actors, more like real people, and the fact that they casted unknown actors for this makes it seem more authentic.
I like how everything is padded out in real time rather than just showing flashbacks of each passenger and all that, you just see them going about their usual day. I think it adds to the authenticity a whole lot.
There wasn’t too much to speak about John Powell’s score, and I think it’s rightfully so - I really like how subtle the score was instead of it being overpowering and brash and melodramatic.
Overall, this is definitely another addition to the top 100 list, as it’s one of those movies that just makes it so emotional for me to watch, and so realistic and authentic to watch too.
Final score: 8.375/10
Description quality:
Not Miles Neff, but Pat Lentz up on the mike, who’s voiceover credits include The Last Song, Frozen, and Incredibles 2.
I’m going off of memory here because I’m tight on time as I have other things to do today so I can’t watch the movie with the audio description track for the time being, but to be honest, I found very few flaws in this audio description track.
First off, a rarity is that no utterance of the word gape could be heard.
Secondly, it was hard of me to take some notes on where the narrator misses a few moments to describe. The one instance I could think of was when Pat says “A passenger uses an air phone” but we also see Deora (Trieste Kelly Dunn’s character) moving from one seat to another as a flight attendant takes her seat. So the description should be “While a passenger moves to another seat, a flight attendant uses an air phone”.
Beyond that, very standard description style from WGBH, going down to the usual cliched utterance of the word “boyish” to describe one of the terrorists. Not that you’ll hear me complaining, because despite the lack of comments from me due to how well this is put out, this is a solid audio description track.
Pat Lentz is one of my favorite female audio description narrators, along with Kim Mai Guest and Leilani Jones-Wilmore. There’s just something about them that really makes the viewing experience pleasant for the blind audience, and she has really knocked it out of the park for this one.
Yeah, not too much to say about it, because if I’m really talking about what’s wrong, it would just boil down to mindless nitpicking. But next time we are going to be discussing How the Grinch Stole Christmas.
