sometimes you wonder how he even got the job

you used to find him annoying and “unprofessional” due to his chill and childlike demeanor and it is usually distracting

he likes teasing you lightheartedly and making you laugh in private

a lil’ flirty

he calls you “sweetie” and winks at you when he gets giddy 

but as time passed by, you learned to grow on him as his playful personality helped you cope with your stress and realized that that alone is enough to uplift you

apparently good at reading your thoughts and emotions

sometimes it freaks you out how accurately he can relay what's going on in your mind

he can tell when you’re sad and understands what you’re thinking and feeling without you having to tell him, which honestly felt refreshing having a father who is a busy man whom you always have to do your best just to hog his attention

has good intuition 

he’s saved you countless times from investors who he had a “bad feeling about”

at first you thought it was silly until you did a background check and found out one of your investors was secretly a wanted criminal for tax fraud

he generally just saves you from any harmful situation due to his intuition

he knows his boundaries and doesn’t pry on your business but damn he has helped you solve your problems multiple times

you started taking him seriously when you found out he was a professional martial artist while protecting you from perverts

then he stood up, fixed his tie, and smiled at you and escorted you as if nothing just happened

when you encounter difficult people to deal with, he will put a hand around your waist, pull you close, and get in between you and the other party 

he’ll gently reassure you and escort you to your limousine, telling you to wait for him 

but you just know someone’s about to get their ass beaten

he’s adaptable and can be many kinds of people depending on your situation: a friend, a partner in crime, and if you’re up for it, a plus one (or more *wink*)

he really gives off such a comforting aura that you find yourself relaxing when he’s around the moment he gives you a gentle smile

he has a soft spoken voice that immediately puts you at ease when you’re stressed

he takes his job seriously and follows all your orders obediently 

very empathetic 

he’s really good at discerning your emotions and always comes up with ways to comfort you 

at some point he just became your personal therapist too

sometimes when he’s on guard duty, you can hear him quietly muttering haikus to pass the time

it’s a cute hobby of his

he got really flustered though when you told him about it and suggested he would gladly stop that habit if it distracted you

but you reassured him that his poetry was beautiful and soon he was sharing some of his best ones with you

ironically has soft hands 

but behind his gentle demeanor was a deadly samurai

you wouldn’t admit it but at some point you did underestimate his combat skills until he deadass just pulled out a sword, eyes glowing with anger, and slayed the whole board room when they started harassing you

normally you would’ve freaked out and have him fired on the spot but he was oh so beautiful and graceful as he did so

he sheathed his sword, not a single drop of blood tainting him and you 

then he looked back at you with those gentle gentle eyes

• he tends to be pretty bad at self-expression so he just goes “whatever it doesn’t matter” or “nevermind” while waving his hand and turning away

• he’s the type of person who wants to display a tough exterior but is secretly a gummy bear inside

• you usually tease him to get a reaction from him because he’s cute when he’s annoyed

• until he had enough of your shit and pinned you down in the backseat, told you to shut up, be a good girl/boy, and behave, then got up and slipped into the front seat before driving you back home

• as time passed by, he began to be more open to you — he started making eye contact, he unfolds his arms when talking to you, and he even started smiling subtly when he sees you, though he still smirks whenever you do something stupid but you were making progress

• yeah he’s good at judo-flipping people and sending them flying across the room the moment someone disrespects you but honestly with a tongue that sharp, he doesn’t even need to

“What you just want me to stand here doing nothing and let them talk shit to you?”

• almost has this dark aura around him

• he’s just standing there, staring menacingly

• he doesn’t talk much, just nodding at orders and getting straight to work

• pretty mysterious

• he completely ignores you when you try to make small talk with him, well during the first few months at least

• to make for the lack of words he speaks, his eyes are surprisingly expressive so you resort to that when you try to discern what’s going on in his mind but it doesn’t do much since he still manages to remain mysterious

• the first time you heard his voice was when he commanded you to stay still as a few henchmen of the opposing diplomats tried to ambush you and kidnap you

• and goddamn it was fucking hot

• he stepped before you with a protective stance and bared his fangs at the perpetrators which caused them to shudder

• oh damn he wasn’t human

• it all happened too quickly, he summoned his spear and all you saw were flashes of light as he spun his weapon before all that was left was bloodshed in the alleyway

• soon enough he had you in his arms bridal style as he parkoured through the buildings of the city

• you were mesmerized by the way his gray hair swayed, his fiery bronze eye sparkling under the moonlight

• he gently put you down on the rooftop of the highest building before clearing his throat and looking away

• you looked down at his hands that were still gripped protectively around your waist, in which he pulled away in embarrassment and hid them back in his dark cloak

“Let’s get you home, my lady/lord.”

comforting you after a nightmare — part one

✦ 𝐃𝐈𝐋𝐔𝐂

Diluc immediately rushed to the bedroom the moment he heard your cries.

“Y/N…” His heart broke when he saw the tears in your restless eyes as you sat on the bed, wrapping the blanket around you in an attempt to comfort yourself as you cried your little heart out.

“D-Diluc…” You whimpered and reached your arms out to him, in which he took and wrapped you around his. He placed a hand on your head as you rested on his chest.

“What happened…?” He gently lifted your chin up to look at him.

You stared into his eyes, eyes that were full of genuine concern and sadness.

You recalled your nightmare, hiccuping and tearing up at the mention of the terrible parts as Diluc’s hand lovingly rubbed your back through it all.

“I-It all felt so real…” A few more tears ran down your cheeks.

Diluc placed his forehead against yours.

“They’re not real, Y/N…It’s okay, you’re safe here with me.”

He held his hand out. You placed your hand on his and he held it.

“See? It was all just a nightmare. You don’t have to worry. I’ll always be here.” He planted a kiss on your head. “ It’s okay. You’re okay…”

“I’m okay…” You reassured yourself and rested your head on his chest.

✦ 𝐓𝐇𝐎𝐌𝐀

Thoma was already by your side the moment you opened your eyes, your vision albeit blurry due to the tears you cried. You felt his hand on your face, his thumb caressing your cheek and wiping your tears away.

“I’m here Y/N…I’m here…”

Your vision finally cleared up and you saw the nervousness in Thoma’s eyes, his hands trembling at the sight of you in pain.

“Thoma!” You immediately sat up and hugged him, and he hugged you back.

“It’s okay Y/N…you were having a bad dream.” 

Yo noticed that he already had a pitcher of water and a meal prepared for you on your bedside table. 

“Would you like to tell me about it?” He asked as he poured you a glass of water.

You took a deep breath, trying to calm yourself down. You opened your mouth, but struggled to get a word out. You didn’t know where to start because you were pretty much still jarred by the nightmare. So you just sat there shaking and whimpering, not really sure what to say.

“It’s okay…” Thoma handed you a glass of water. “Drink some water sweetheart, you’ll get dehydrated.”

He rubbed your back as you chugged the glass down.

“Do you want some soup? It’s your favorite.”

You nodded and he immediately stirred the bowl before blowing a spoonful to cool it down then started feeding you.

“We’ll work it out okay? We’ll find a way to make you feel better.”
