Topside Turvy

As the two teams moved underground towards their various goals, those above worked as well. Jari and her group of saboteurs were causing havoc along the back lines of High Central forces, taking out small groups of isolated soldiers quickly and causing major distractions before disappearing into the alleys and streets of the city, trying to divert attention from the front lines.

Meanwhile Deo was working on the front with her Rangers. The city was cramped and finding clean shots was difficult at best with how central was using the main road to hold them back. They had taken to firing volleys of arrows at an angle so they would strike from above.

Further behind Rebellion lines Kettil was busy both treating wounds and organizing the other healers, having them focus on those who they could save while making those who were too far gone, comfortable in their last moments.

I think because of your blog, I had a dream where I found a very tiny snake who liked to curl up in my hands or pocket because it wanted to be warm. (Of course then it ended up having swallowed a bunch of worrisome things like nuts and bolts and axes, which I don’t think is normal snake behavior). But I woke up and immediately thought “I bet they could ID that snake, which was not real”

Rigor Mortis - Masterlist

Rigor Mortis noun stiffening of the joints and muscles of a body a few hours after death, usually lasting from one to four days. "mid 19th century: from Latin, literally ‘stiffness of death’. 

WARNING: This fic is based off gothic fiction which usually contains dark themes along with death, suicide, gore and the paranormal. Summary: The Red Keep stood tall on Aegon’s hill. So, as has been clear for a while on this blog, I bought baldurs gate 3 in January of this year, after playing for a few days and falling completely in love with the game, I insisted my wife (the lovely hilarious beautiful etc etc @the-faultofdaedalus) also buy bg3 so that she can experience it and we can play together. (let it be known: we HAVE gone through the entire time at LEAST once before)

today, we were going back and forth between playing bg3 and watching shows the other hasn't seen before, recently I decided that I should show her a TV show that was near and dear to me in my childhood: My Name Is Earl.

having baldurs gate fresh on our minds whilst watching the show led us to making the joke (and. it was a joke, we've even made similar jokes about other shows such as Leverage before) that if Earl Hickey was a DND character, he would be a Paladin.

That is all context for what you are all about to see:

Earl is an oath of devotion paladin, but only because oath of redemption isn't available, meanwhile we only just played through the prologue, so Randys subclass hasn't been decided just yet.

We're not sure yet if this is just the DND versions of earl and randy or if they've been isekaied to faerun. either option is hilarious, so we'll probably just go back and forth between which one.

Well, anyway...

Lila scowled with arms crossed as Milae walked out of the room.

"Condescending arse." She murmured again.

Having that mad man on the island made he skin crawl, but at least she had deprived him of his red card for now. Maybe she'd have time to catch up with the kids in the meantime. Taking a deep breath she calmed herself she approached the Commander.

"Lila! I know things are a wee bit hectic right now, but I was hopin' maybe you and I could go grab a bite to eat and a pint to drink or something like that. Get to catch up." Deo said with a kind smile.

With all these new memories she had access to now there was a familiarity that she felt with everyone, the Ericson kids especially. She wanted to know what she had missed, to reconnect.

Lila frowned, though this was common.

"Deoiridh. Apologies but as you said, much is happening right now. Perhaps another time." She says before walking out.

Deo let out a grumble and frowned but it made sense. Things were weird and dangerous right now. Not exactly the best ambience for a chill catch up session. But it did give her time to have her own conversation with the madman.

About 4 days later Deo approached Lila again with the same offer. Stepping into her old house she smiled at the familiarity.

"Lila hey! Sorry I know you're busy, but I wanted to see if you had any free time to just catch up.

Lila's lips were already pressed into a thin line as Deo opened the door. "Deoiridh, I'd ask that you'd knock in the future please. As it stands I am too busy planning the raid on Castaway for anything of the sort." She replied as she turned back to the map.

Deo frowned. "Fine, I understand. Another time." She said as she quickly excused herself. Frustrated she didn't even notice Siri approaching the house behind her.

Deo decided once again to approach Lila, now 6 days past the last time she asked. "Lila!" She called out as she saw her walking towards her house.

Lila scowled. "Deoiridh I'm in no mood for this. I just had a rather frustrating conversation with that old goat and I'd rather not be bothered right now." She said as she opened the door to her home and stepped inside, Deo hot on her heels.

"Well, how abouts we get a drink and just relax, talk about anything else."

"No thank you. Please leave." Lila replied curtly.

Deo frowned. "Why are you just brushin' me off like this?"

"Look I just... I can't do this." Lila said as she gripped the edge of the table where her map sat.

"Do what?" Deo insisted. Her answer was silence. "Lila come on, talk to me here. You can talk to me about anything, like you used to."

"Don't do that." She said sharply, he head snapping up to start daggers at Deo.

"Do what?" She asked brow scrunched up in confusion.

"You're not him!" She shouted finally, eyes clenched shut. "You may have his memories, you may even have his soul, but you're. Not. My father. You don't get it. It's hard enough even working with you! Every time I look at you, it's like I'm staring at a ghost!

Her breath was shaky as she swallowed trying to compose herself. "I know it's not fair to you, and I'm sorry. It's not your fault, but you can't even begin to imagine what this is like for me. So please, just go."

Hearing that was worse than a sword in the gut. Deo swallowed and spoke. "I'm... Sorry for the pain I've caused you. That's the last thing I wanted. I'll... Just go then." She turned and headed out the door as tears began to prick at her eyes.

Also I promise, it doesn’t make me uncomfy. It was a big part of my teenage years, so I don’t mind the mentioning of it. Although, I am not the original artist for those designs in particular, the original artist (at the time) was Rebornica/deo, and there was a lot of drama associated with them and me and the designs, long story short I was one of the only ones who continued the design from there, everyone else kinda branched off, especially after the new games came out. 

Feel free to pop in whenever! I am rarely online anymore because I am so busy with life. I wish I can draw more, I miss art 😭

Here's an update on the cockroach situation because no one asked for it and so here we go.

On Sunday, I was walking back home from the metro at 10 pm because I make poor choices. It was dark and drizzly, kind of like an armpit but with petrichor deo. That was an awful analogy, I am sorry. Now I happened to glance down, and voilà!

There was a cockroach on the road.

And so I stared at it and I said, out loud, "What's up, babygirl?" because this is my life now.

It tried to scuttle away. Rude. But that was fine. Sometimes cockroaches play hard to get. Like that one in the kitchen that I rizzed. I am NOT putting that post here. If you dare, go lurk through the blog of @therizzedupcockroach or one of the ten other cockroach blogs I accidentally spawned. It's an infestation.

So I pulled out my phone, as one does, and I said, "Babygirl wait I gotta take a photo for the tumblr maggots."

It did not heed me. It tried to scuttle again but i managed a couple of blurry pics. Most cockroaches are unused to the paparazzi.

Don't ask me why I called it babygirl.

are you musical? no lol i enjoy it but i can't play anything anymore. i used to be okay at the piano but honestly if i'm not good at something immediately then i'll give up.

what were you like as a child? god idk. defiant lmao. my parents struggled with me as soon as i developed a sense of justice. i used to write books in the middle of the night, beg off school the next day because i was exhausted, and use the time off to illustrate them. my mum caught on after 3 books. one that sticks out was called The Enchanted Fireplace and it was about some kids that found out they could use their granny's fireplace to time travel lol. mum probably has that one in her attic

favorite subject at school? art, english language, & history. art and eng lang because it fed my creativity, history because mr h was the funniest teacher i've ever known. shoutout to mr h wherever u are, i really enjoyed that term we learned about the romans

least favorite subject? geography because it bored me. computer tech because the teacher was a creep and i knew how to use the internet better than he did. RE because our teacher should've been in therapy for her anger issues

the word “witch” is in quotations marks within my bio simply because although “witchcraft” is probably the closest word to describe what it is i’m practicing, the title of “witch” feels like something i have outgrown and is no longer accurate to my spiritual practices and such. no judgement intended toward anyone who does refer to themselves that way!
