Kate and Jordan connected over their love for adventure and their elopement in Aspen couldn’t have been more perfect for them. Eric and Sara still didn’t feel like the world was quite where they wanted it yet to have thier big wedding so they made the super hard decision to elope for now and have the party next year. One thing for sure that didn’t change is how stinkin’ in love these two are and how stoked they were to still get married on thier original wedding date with close family and many others in attendance via video conferencing. I definitely need more winter elopements in my life. And you all know how much I love a couple who throws all the rules out the door and just goes for what makes them happy and are so completely themselves like Anna and Marc are. I have to say that I am majorly coveting Anna’s “Till Death” leather jacket. That has to be one of my favorite wedding fashion choices EVER. Everything about this day was perfect. The variety of weather hiding and revealing the mountains every so often. A little snow, a little sun, not too much wind…beautiful. As many times as I have shot at Grand Lake I have never been there with the lake frozen enough to walk out onto it! I loved that hockey players and ice fishers were doing their thing while Anna did ballet in her dress. Their daughter Willow has enough personality for ten kids and I couldn’t get enough of her poses. And holy smokes, Marc’s blue eyes are nearly as piercing as a White Walkers’…in a good way…ha! Thank you Anna and Marc for choosing me to be a part of your day. In my whole career I haven’t taken photos just like yours and I am so thrilled with with these! Jule and Aidan groove to the beat of their own drum. I am always telling my couples they should forget what the rest of the world say about the way that you should celebrate your marriage, and these two exceeded my own wildest expectations for what that can really look like when you do. In Colorado you don’t need someone to marry you, you are legally able to make that decision on your own. Jule and Aidan still wanted a party with 250 of their favorite people, but they stood in front of everyone on their own and chose each-other for life. So stinking COOL. That was a first for me after nearly ten years shooting weddings and I am so honored to have been part of this day.
