High speed rail would be amazing here. I wish we had trains that could help us out here in the Midwest. We can use it to go from St. Louis to Chicago or Kansas City and on to Denver. I realize we have amtracks that take us from Stl to KC or Chicago but they’re far from fast. I can travel to KC or Chicago by car faster than I can get there on a train.
I loved the Shinkansen in Japan. We got to Sendai from Tokyo in a few hours and to Sapporo will be even quicker when the new line opens. It took us 18 hours by ferry to return from Hokido to Tokyo when we couldn’t get a seat in the train that would’ve gotten us there in around 5. 🤷🏼‍♀️

We are back home again!
The trip was great, but I missed my house. And my cats.
My little Mamalade was nekkid when we got home. Apparently she dumped her collar as soon as we left. Lol. I put it back on her.
Initially, the plan was to fly to a third city, get a connecting flight, and fly on to our final city. Oh, what the hell, I'm home now.
We went to Friday Harbor in the San Juan islands.
Tumblr media
STL-DEN
DEN-SEA/TAC
We arrived in plenty of time to check our bags and go through TSA.
Only to discover that everything was grounded in Denver due to weather. We got our flight changed to a direct flight on Alaskan Airlines. Y'all, they are friendly, but their seats are the smallest seat designed for an adult that I have ever encountered.
We got to Seattle and sprinted (by rental car) to the very last Ferry of the day, to get to Friday Harbor. (San Juan islands.)
Tumblr media
Exciting, no?
So for the trip home I figured it would be easier. No such luck. Despite taking the earliest possible ferry, we *just* missed the cut off for baggage check at the airport on Friday. The traffic was difficult, and weird.
Turns out, there was a Presidential visit.
https://www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news/as-biden-makes-last-stop-departs-seattle-area-traffic-jams-follow/
Well, shit.
The next flight out wasn't until 5am this morning.
So we booked a night with the airport DoubleTree with aspirations to visit points of interest in Seattle, as we hadn't really explored it before. Instead we got some really good Thai food and passed right out.
Ok, I went and got in the hot tub, but it had become the Kiddie Pool so I retreated back to the room. Since we had to get up at 2:30am, we tried to get to sleep early. I mostly succeeded, since I did seem to inherit my father's "sleep anywhere anytime" gene. (Plus my sense of time was already wacky as hell.)
So that's how I missed the Aurora borealis; first I was sleeping, then navigating an airport. I hoped that I could see it from the plane, but it was dawn by the time we were in the air.
Tumblr media
Seattle TSA took 400 years. Holy shit. Felt like I was in line at 6 Flags. We barely made it in time to board.
I'm kind of glad I experienced the Alaskan Airlines version of flight, because it gave me better appreciation for United. Seats still small but not miniature. Some legroom, actually.
Here's the thing I completely forgot about flying;
You spend most of your time *hauling your shit around* for the longest hikes ever. If your bag weighs 5 pounds, great, but that is on your shoulder the whole. Damn. Time. Then you sit still, and cramped, for a few hours. Repeat. Oof. I will rethink my strategies, lemme tell you. I had my laptop bag and my purse. I will figure out a different solution, including NOT bringing the damned laptop next time.
But it was good! More about the experience later. This was just the travel details.

STL ATL Chitown Little Rock Denver Baltimore Dallas Cleveland Cincinnati Columbus cities in between Motor City particularly paths of wickedness aren't the same as the paths many of you take. They don't seem like much because we talk n walk em daily. They become norm there are no roller coasters at the end of them, candy stores, ceremonies, we see the same ole same ole.
Man would be nice to talk up on some head game right bout now. Damn she he is attractive but... Thats a $200 sac of rocks don't fuck it up I sell this right I should come out on top especially after I pay extra for spotting me... My son needs milk n diapers cell phone busted. How my grandma doing I can always go there for some clear thoughts. You feel me as a male you are ok you are not allowed to stop depending in your access to present your heart b4 our Creator. These things you can't repent bout. Don't let them be the reason you don't have answers. A simple modest life being who tf you are is all you want. Trouble free should be the fulfillment especially with your family history. But the problem is your tribal heart is in a colonial society.
Oil n water don't mix everytime they get together there is trouble. Is the oil to blame for being in the water or is the water to blame for being around the oil. That's all they present to you. There problems they don't like you like head, sell street products, you want to do right by your seed, your family, live your life. No matter how tidy the path you take to acquire the oil threatens to leave you messy stained as if you are to blame. Trust in our Creator hold your head up or duck it you aren't the punk. The oil can't help but stain you and you can't help to remain water. You're never going to sell out there is not enough conformity you work. None of what you are looking for is sin, evil, wicked, unrighteous, never going to be.
Stay true warriors, hunters, dancers, Prince's, healers, cooks, etc

I'm just imagining a similar system for the Gulf Coast.
You have your Texas arc/circuit with DFW (and its various microcities), Austin, San Antonio, and Houston, with offshoots to Tyler, Waco+Temple+College Station, Corpus+McAllen, and El Paso+Lubbock+Amarillo.
You'd then have an inroute from OK (Tulsa+OKC) and the southern portion of the Midwest loop (STL, KC), which ties in from the TN arc (Chattanooga, Nashville, Memphis). This feeds in through Wichita Falls and DFW.
The Tennessee arc is a link between the Atlantic/great lakes, Midwest, and Gulf. Chattanooga connects to ATL and, via Bristol, Roanoke, Cville, and Richmond. Nashville connects to Louisville, and Memphis connects to Jackson, Little Rock, and STL.
You have another inroute to TX from TN/AR, coming from Memphis, though Little Rock and Texarkana, heading in to DFW, via Sulfur Spring and Rockwall.
The northern portion of the Gulf Circuit feeds in from Shreveport, via Longview and Tyler, and connects to Jackson, Birmingham, and ATL (to the Atlantic corridor circuit).
Birmingham then swings down to Pensacola, Mobile, Biloxi, and NOLA, before swinging into Houston via Beaumont. Pensacola starts the FL circuit, following around the coast through to Jville, before splitting and heading back to Pensacola and North, up the coast to Brunswick, Savannah, Myrtle Beach, Wilmington, Norfolk, and Williamsburg, rejoining the main Atlantic circuit at different points
Georgia would have two intra-state arc running: Atlanta to Columbus (Birmingham connection), and Valdosta (Tallahassee connection), which connects to Macon and Brunswick; and a loop running from Atlanta to Macon, to Augusta, which connects from there to Savannah, Athens, and Columbia SC.
El Paso then is the connector to the rest of the Southwest, heading to Albuquerque, Phoenix, and SoCal. Amarillo follows the Rockies North to Denver and branches out from there
The Carolinas are mostly sketched out by now, only needing an arc to Greensboro, Winston-Salem, and Ashville, and a connection from the research triangle to Wilmington, possibly through Greenville NC.
VA has a circuit running from NOVA/DC to Richmond, Williamsburg, Norfolk, Lynchburg, and Roanoke, with a spur to SW VA (to WV, TN).
Come on, y'all, let's figure this out.
We have our Atlantic and Great Lakes circuits. We now have sketches of the SE, Gulf Coast, and TX loops. We just need the West Coast, Midwest, and Great Plains/flyover loops/connections, and we'll have our Tumblr-designed rail networks

Man if we could get all of these, it would change so much.
I love the Houston to NYC line, if only because it goes through St. Louis and is a route we should have anyway.
It’s nice to see the Pioneer, Seattle to Denver, back on the table. Likewise with the North Coast Hiawatha, hitting places the Empire Builder used to hit. I’d like to see it routed through Madison, WI though, but I understand why they wouldn’t.
Likewise, I love the two Kansas City to Minneapolis-St. Paul connections, but again my preference there would be a direct line from STL to MSP. But these are still nice too.
The Desert Wind is back on the table! Nice to see.
Gosh imagine if Amtrak actually had real funding. Please vote D in 2024…
Need me some popcorn, this finally dropped
